I picked this guitar up as an inexpensive way to try out the Telecaster shape while learning to play, thinking I could upgrade it along the way with some Fender accessories. After ordering a couple of small items, like a different pick guard, I discovered that this guitar is subtly different in most dimensions from the Fender it is modeled after, so most accessories won't fit without other modifications. Out of the box it is a very attractive piece but getting it to tune is impossible. The neck bends, the springs flex, the upper point shape digs into your arm, the machine heads don't fine-tune and wont hold. The volume knob is too close to the playing area causing sudden volume changes when it's bumped while playing, the frets are too high causing the strings to bend when making even the simplest of chords causing a de-tuned sound, the Floyd Rose mechanism is made of too light and flimsy springs and machine parts to be stable. Thirty seconds of hearing this thing play would make anybody switch the station. Otherwise it is very attractive and has a nice gloss finish. The intonation is a joke. I tried everything – relocating the neck, locking the Floyd solid, hours of work . It did improve slightly but the neck bends while tuning making it impossible to get anything other than a noise maker and something you could hang on your wall for show. Since I made so many modifications in an attempt to make the thing even usable I now am unable to return it. I might be able to use the pots for another project but the rest of it is junk. I would try and get the seller to buy it back but even I wouldn't want it back so I'm sure they wont accept it. After I re-work a guitar it usually worth several thousand dollars. I spent the equivalent of $5,000.00 worth of labor on this thing and it is still worthless.
The Mahogany body and maple neck through construction is enough for the price alone. On top of that you get Duncan Designed HB 103's which are some of the best passive pickups on the market. Next you get gold floyd rose hardware on a beautifully finished guitar. The binding and craftsmanship were excellent. All I had to do was ser the intonation. The tuners are fine except a little tight on a couple of them. Other than that, it is a flawless instrument. The only thing I might upgrade are the zinc alloy string blocks on the fr bridge but I like the way they sound for now. Just not sure if they will strip later on as zinc is a softer metal. The feel, tone and sustain is exceptional. This guitar produces the most brutal tones and I would put it up against a USA made model any day. Being made in Indonesia did not hurt the quality one bit. This guitar is a monster and my favorite 6 string.ZerovoreZ
This is a great guitar, overall, especially for the price. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncans, as I am partial to them…but the stock pickups are really pretty good. I will say that I was very disappointed, when I changed the pickups, to find that I had to replace the locking nut, as one of the bolt holes was stripped and I could not lock the E & A strings down. Thanks be to God, I have several extra ones on hand…but most people don't… But, having replaced the nut, and given the frets a light sanding and polish, and oiled the neck…this guitar looks and plays great! As well as any high end guitar… I also love the Jackson Floyd Rose bridges. They are great quality, and they do everything that an expensive tremolo bridge does. The bar fits tightly, it always floats right back in tune, no matter how hard you abuse it…you can do flutters, dive bombs, etc…a very good bridge in my opinion. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone who is looking for a versatile guitar (but mostly metal), and doesn't want to spend $800 on a pro series. This baby will do the job every bit as well, with a bit of TLC and the gift from God to play. Seriously.disciple7777

Having previously purchased a lemon drop second hand I was impressed with the vintage brand. I've previously owned custom shop guitars by Fender and Gibson so have perspective on how "good ones" should sound. The v6 was ordered from Richard as I enjoyed his YouTube videos and liked the thought of the guitar being essentially hand picked and set up prior to delivery. Richards pricing is not the cheapest but it does ensure that the guitar you receive plays as well as it possibly can. The guitar itself arrived in tune, set up to my specifications with a blocked trem and 10 gauge strings. The finish was flawless and the fact vintage spec the correct woods for these guitars (alder and maple) really sold me. It has a full size tremblock, bent steel saddles and sounds like a good strat should. The Wilkinson pickups in the lemon drop where excellent paf approximations and the single coils are no exception. Plus the bridge is wired to the second tone pot which is something I always do as I tend to roll off the treble when soloing. The guitar is also very light and can be played comfortably for hours. Packing was top notch. Double boxed. Comms excellent and I would wholeheartedly recommend purchasing from Richard again. In fact I have Gas for a Eastman Les Paul in 2020😊Matt S.
If you've ever put a guitar together from after market parts, even 2nd hand, its doesn't take long to rack up an expense. For Richard to offer this guitar for £287 with a full setup is quite extraordinarily extraordinary. The QC on this one is exceptional from Vintage and despite thorough inspection I cannot find any flaws at all. It is a very lightweight guitar, slightly neck heavy, so I'd recommend purchasing a good quality leather strap to prevent slippage. The highlight of the VS6 would be the neck which is a wide C profile and very enjoyable to play. The setup from Richard again is exceptional and you really have to applaud the effort invested making these very affordable guitars so playable. On that note, I would also recommend that these are perfect guitars to learn some basic setup skills on; though very well setup I have made small adjustments as can be expected as you break a guitar in. All in all, a great value guitar which Richard and his team have helped punch well above its weight.Jordan T.

Overall, this is a good guitar. I'm having a good time with it, the neck is comfortable, the pickups sound really good and handle high-ish gain surprisingly well, and the color (I got the Daphne blue) looks incredible. Taken as a whole, if you're in the market for a Jazzmaster with all the classic JM features but don't have a ton of money to spend, I'd recommend it for sure. If you're going to buy it though, just be aware of a few things… 1.) It'll need a setup. Out of the box, the tuning stability was fine but once I used the vibrato a little bit, it went way out. The action wasn't bad but could be better and the neck may need a half degree shim. I'm probably going to end up putting a Fender AVRI vibrato on it eventually but a decent setup should make the stock one perfectly usable. 2.) It needs a good cleaning. This could very well just be the specific one that I got but the neck and headstock had a lot of dust and a slightly cloudy residue on them, the fretboard was very dry, and the frets were scratchy. None of these were anything that a little lemon oil, fretboard conditioner, a microfiber cloth, and some 0000 steel wool couldn't take care of but it's still something to be aware of. Note though that, while the frets were scratchy, their weren't any sharp fret ends. 3.) It probably isn't a great first guitar. I've seen this said a few times in other reviews and I completely agree. That's not to say that it isn't a good guitar because it is. More that it's not the most user-friendly instrument right away and could be off-putting to a beginner. A pro setup will do it a world of good and make it much easier to play but if you're in the market for a first guitar, look elsewhere. Am I glad I bought it? Yes. I mean, it's a Daphne blue Jazzmaster with a comfortable neck and awesome pickups! I don't mind working on my guitars a bit though, so none of the problems I talked about above bother me in particular. However, if you're looking for a plug-in-and-play guitar right out of the box, this one might not be for you.Jackson
I waiting on this on backordered for a few months (shell pink) and started to worry after looking at a bunch of YouTube reviews. Action, fret ends and leveling were great out of the box (which I really am not up for fixing; esp on a bound fingerboard). Frets could prob use a polish, but that's a lesser concern to me. No shim needed with 09s so far. I feel like recent shipments corrected some of the common complaints of this line… YMMV. I think the the nut is pinching a bit and the trem pivot is jumping a bit so I might go in and see if I can smooth it out. Pickups are microphonic under gains and comp… and I'm not sure if they are RWRP yet. One of the reason I went with MF is that if I wasn't satisfied I could go right into GC and trade towards and CV Jazzmaster. But overall pretty satisfied and think this will be a good first offset and short scale add to the collection.David
I want to love this guitar. Unfortunately however, I will have to be taking this one to a luthier to be set-up due to the neck. Everything for the most part is beautiful, it's a Jazzmaster. Fantastic dark, spanky jazzmaster tones, beautiful tortoise-shell guard, and the very eye-catching very elusive shell pink finish. Switches all seem to be in working order, though due to the position of the neck pickup to the strings right out of the box, the rhythm circuit will be noticeably quieter. Easy fix. I am unsure about the stability of the bridge, which is a Mustang bridge- a HUGE improvement, as I've seen in other reviews that the screwposts loosen by vibration. Vibrato does not return to tune. There is a very strange, unclean grime of some sort on the metal plate of the vibrato piece. I was unfortunate enough to receive a poorly conditioned neck, with glue residue left behind surrounding the tuning pegs on the face of the headstock. The lacquer finish is beautiful and is fine to play on. The fretboard is noticeably dry as well as the frets are unfinished, both feeling scratchy, and the frets being too rough to perform clean bends on. Not sure if it's the neck, the frets, or the bridge piece, or any of the three in combination that is causing the strings to be unable to bend even a half note without losing vibration, or being pinched off. Fret markers are a dark, cheap pearl. Overall, the fretboard itself just feels like Squier Affinity line quality. My impression is that most of the cost of this guitar- to keep it in line with the technologically cheaper instruments (telecaster the same price as a jazz, etc)- went into the body finish, and electronics. However, in the end I still love this thing and cannot wait to hear it sing once I get it set-up.Tyler

For years Squier has been a popular brand of discount Fenders. They were often someone's first guitar. It was very rare that a guitar enthusiast would want to search out a Squier for their collection, once it was established. Squier has been seriously making a much better product in recent years. With their Paranormal line they have created guitars that are definitely worth owning. They are uniquely crafted, despite being made in China. Even the pickups are designed to be specific to the sound the guitar goes for. The Super Sonic is easily one of the most eye catching. With two volume knobs and two exceptionally juiced humbuckers, you will be surprised what this guitar brings to the table. It's sound can be explosive and heavy. It is made for overdrive pedals and tube amps. The tremolo is near perfect. Two bits of advice that you must know when you get this guitar; first it comes with the wrong type of strings on it. You will need at least 10s in a heavy gauge to make the tremolo work without it slipping out of tune. 9s will not cut it, so restring it first thing. Also the string action most often comes from the factory being too high. Make sure you have a small allen wretch. Adjust the string height is extremely easy, easier than all my Fenders, and it can go low. You get some low action on this guitar, with the tremolo working perfect, and that thick overdrive, you have yourself an addition to your collection that is very much worth the money. This was my first purchase from ProAudioStar. I ordered on Wednesday, it shipped on Thursday and arrived on Saturday. The guitar was well packed and arrived safely. The Squier Toronado itself is gorgeous with quality similar to the Classic Vibes. Frets are nice, finish is perfect, neck is straight, no obvious flaws (after 2 days at least!). The humbuckers are surprisingly bright, which is a good thing to me. The only word of caution is that the LPB finish is darker than usual. A perfectly playable guitar at a sub $500 price point that’s a ton of fun as well! Pros: Short-scale, humbucker-equipped, independent volume and tone controls (all very un-Fender-like)! Cons: I would have preferred a satin finished neck; however, the gloss finish looks great, the pickups were set up waaaaay too low to even be really audible, one of saddle screws was stripped and fell out. Overall: Seriously……..I'm baffled, and highly impressed with this limited run that Fender/Jackson is offering, and the quality that is immediately obvious with these guitars. As well, do not be deceived by the price…rather, consider this to be an opportunity. So literally, just a few weeks ago, I purchased the stop tailpiece Fender Special Run variant (which I am upgrading w/EMG 57/66, brushed gold, Tonepros bridge, gold, Earvana compensated nut, Gotoh Magnum SG381 locking tuner, gold, EMG Satin Gold knobs) of this guitar, so therefore, as I am thoroughly impressed, I was compelled to await the arrival of this version (tremolo) through zZounds, yet it became available via Amazon, and I made my purchase just 10 days ago. Okay, so in no particular order, I'm going to start with the Amaranth (of the Purpleheart family/species……yes, that beautiful purple wood seen on many high end guitars)….these are the first two guitars that I now own with this species of wood utilized for the fretboards, and I absolutely love it. At first glance, your eye tends to see it as Ebony, as the wood has quite the dark appearance, which I totally dig (and quite fitting as the guitar is in nat mahogany finish), and it sounds bright, snappy, percussive, and present. As well, I dig the feel, as it has a nice, tight grain pattern.The fretwire- …..ummm, well, ….all level, and comfortable frets. I've not found any dead/high spots, and if so, it's so minimal that it's within a tolerance that allows you to keep low, low action, if you prefer (and the fretwire is just the right jumbo size to allow for the feel of the wire, along with the wood).The tuning machines- ….as I normally upgrade all of my tuning machines to Gotoh SG 381 Magnum locking, I must say, I like these tuners so much, that I'm torn and considering not upgrading, as they are visually stunning, and work quite well. The body of the tuners (where the mechanisms/gears are located) are not thin, and are actually quite robust in size, which provides confidence they'll maintain.The graphite reinforced neck- 5 stars +. Period. You immediately feel it, as soon as you grasp the neck..but also when playing, you can sense a bit more resonance and volume from the notes.The natural mahogany finish- Just…beautiful. Period. (and the feel is quite satisfying, indeed).The Jackson-branded Floyd- …..okay, ……I'm impressed…once again. This is a genuine Floyd Rose licensed unit, as the tremolo block is a genuine Floyd Rose 32mm/nickel-plated block. Look, the gold Fender/Jackson has chosen for these units, is absolutely beautiful….it's a dense, kinda lustrous gold that has a bit more depth than, for instance, an Original Floyd….it's really beautiful (as the colors match via the tuners, locking nut, and tremolo unit). Key feature…..the matching/gold-colored fine tuners via the baseplate. however, my only complaint w/this/these units, is that the very bottoms of the fine tuning screws do not have a flat surface (at the bottom/point of contact) for the string lock screws to make contact with/move smoothly up and down when tuning…rather, it causes the string lock screws/tuning to "skip", and kinda clank, as you feel the bottom of the fine tuning screws jumping/skipping as you fine tune….so you may jump a half-step during turning due to this. It's not a difficult fix, however, as the bottoms of the tuning screws simply need filed/sanded a bit….no biggie (however, if one prefers not to do so, the Original Floyd brass fine tuning screws are an optimal substitute, as they are easy to remove/change. The action of the tremolo is smooth, no noise, and the bar fits snug without those weird unpredictable …"hmmm, i wonder if the bar that comes with the unit will actually fit as it should?" kinda anomalies/moments. (key note- the locking nut is an actual Floyd Rose Special R3, and the neck nut shelf is filed/seated at the proper height…therefore preventing an unplayable kinda high string-to-fret height when fretting….once again, the attention to detail will have you asking…."really?, just $400??"…..it's that good.)The pickups- …not bad. ..not bad at all. I dig 'em. Although, I'm full-on EMG, and I'm goin' with the Het Set, or 57/66 in brushed gold (or, possibly the 81X, 85X in brushed gold). As I am hearing the characteristics of these wood combinations on this guitar, my immediate choices are any of the 3 EMG options listed above, but the Jackson pickups sound great…they really do. Well-balanced and fitting.The 3-way switch- ….nice, solid, and "tight" feeling. The gold-mirrored pickguard- ……..just …sick. The knobs- Very, very nice (and, once again, all the gold selected for this instrument….are an exact match across all components……..impressive).Overall- As I tend to often make purchases based off of my instincts, and relying on them, I'm so pleased I own both the stop tail and tremolo versions of this guitar. Looks and feels great, sounds nice out of the box but the stock pickups are not stellar. However, they will do everything upto 85% of high end pickups. These are actually pretty good. Unless you're very finicky, I don't recommend changing them. Can't say anything bad about it. I modified mine because my cover shield was cracked out of the box and I have not heard anything back about a replacement. I got some unique Lace Humbucker and slapped them on with some mad wiring that splits and parallels the hums. It sounds a lot better than stock. I also added a chrome cover shield.arcticwynd

Excellent craftsmanship! The neck feels really great. Had no sharp fret ends and the satin finish is top notch. It came with a really nice set up and low action out of the box. Electronics are really decent to. Bridge pickup got a bit muddy with heavy distortion, but did well under a crunch setting. Middle and neck positions were buttery smooth with clear differences in tone. The 3-way switch is excellent quality as well, which is usually isn't the case. Wiring is great, but I opted to switch it out with Emerson wiring harness anyways. Overall, you can't beat this guitar. I bought a Vintera 60s Jazzmaster before this one and I would pick this Squier over the Vintera any day..Diego

Phenomenal guitar. over the past 10 years i've been through over 20 high end guitars including fenders, gibsons, and lots of boutiques like anderson, suhr, lentz, collings (and handled lots more). this one has topped them all for me–incredible player, perfect playability on every note up the fretboard, unbelievable tone. these have a unique thickness like a 335 but a lot more high end definition and mids focus. it sits just right in a live mix. i don't know if all duesenbergs are consistently this good or if i just got a golden one. these white double cut fullertons seem to be harder to find than the starplayers. includes original hard shell case. no chips or issues, though there is light swirling in the paint and light fret wear.

I am a 7 year veteran in playing and collecting guitars. My interest in Duesenbergs piqued when I saw and heard Chris Cornell playing one. When I ordered this baby I couldn't wait to receive it, unbox it, and start rocking. I have an arsenal of 20+ guitars which includes Les Paul's, limited edition Teles and Starts and Gretsch's. Hands down the BEST guitar in my collection has arrived!! This baby does it all tone wise. Shimmering cleans for jazz and blues and smooth robust rock and roll grit. Well made from headstock to vibrato. It's basically a high end Mercedes but in guitar form. Buttery playability and an absolute joy to play. No way I'm ever parting with this guitar and feel bad for some guitars in my collection that will now be sold away since this Starplayer does it all. And, Dusenberg clearly 'gets this' because they've paid attention to the smallest details with this rock-solid (& unique) instrument! Every edge, wire, binding, screw, and piece of hardware on this guitar feels like it was made as a conscious decision as part of a larger artistic endeavor…and it's a success. Here's a guitar that truly stands apart. This Starplayer TV Fullerton radiates with its own distinct personality! All of the electronics & parts are designed and manufactured by and FOR Dusenberg guitars. This beauty has a rich fat sound. Somehow, the bridge-humbucker is simultaneously SMOOTH and crunchy! And the neck pickup is a P-90 style single-coil pickup, that feels wide open whether it's growling or jazzing!! The fingering is perfect and fluid, and the frets/fretboard are factory plekked. It's Dusenberg designed vibrato is super stable when it comes to tuning, too. (Even the darn case is a testament to handmade quality) Overall, I think what really matters here, is that there's a TRUE balance with this guitar…the way it feels in your hand, and the way it sounds to your ear. Overall: The Sterling by Music Man 50 series is a cut above the usual fare. Different than Fender Squier, different than Gibson Epiphone, it is rooted in the tradition of Fenders guitars, because Music Man was cofounded by Leo Fender. The guitars have his mark and Sterling has surely arrived, thanks to the new 50 Series. In this model you have a deluxe strat style guitar with a feel and sound and appearence of everything great about strats without the higher price. Sweet!
I have owned and played so many guitars. But, other than a 1950s Gibson acoustic that was worth at least $5K, I have never fallen in love with the tone and playability of a guitar to the extent that I love this Sterling Cutlass. Comparing an electric and acoustic is relatively pointless, I know, but this thing is the only axe I've ever played for any length of time that is as magical as that Gibson, and I fell in love with the Cutlass quickly. The thick, rounded neck fills the arc of my fretting hand so well that I barely have to use pressure from my thumb from the back of the neck to get the notes to ring, and barre chords are relatively effortless. Playing jazz chords high up on the neck creates epic chime. For me you can tell the difference between an expensive guitar and a cheap guitar by the contours of the harmonics. The harmonics on this baby ring loud and proud. I don't like to go heavy on effects with this guitar because I don't want to adulterate the beautiful tones that you get playing it clean or with lighter levels of effects. The way the strings are spaced apart allows for easy finger-picking but they are still close enough reduce the amount of effort necessary to form barre chords. I bend notes like a madman and have a hard time finding guitars that stay in tune properly. This withstands deep bends well. The only drawbacks I can think of: 1. if you have really small hands the neck might be too thick for you to get around it adequately with your fretting hand 2. the high and low E strings are so close to the edge of the fretboard that you need to be very precise or risk bending off the board. Sounded great out of the box for me, though others have claimed they needed a professional set-up before they were able to truly appreciate the Cutlass. Don't miss out on this instant classic. I even like it way better than the U.S.-made Strat I used to own.Baz
Overall: This axe has a multitude of tonal colors. The action was lower than any guitar I have bought, which is saying something: you can start playing your guitar instead of working on it. I'm not mincing words. This is a special instrument. Sound, looks, feel. Also, it looks better than the website; it's like a dark wine sunburst. Very cool. I have only superlatives to offer, not one negative comment. Not this guitar. The Cutlass has been lauded by youtubers and magazines alike. You might not find a better guitar under $1200.

Zkoušel jsem i Fender Squier Mini Stratocaster a jeho zvuk taky nebyl špatný, ale při silnějším hraní struny vibrovaly o hmatník a zvuk byl tím tak silně ovlivněn, že se to nedalo poslouchat. This is a jay turser jt-ltc custom deluxe telecaster in a beautiful blonde tiger finish. it's a gorgeous guitar in very good condition, it does have some light swirl marks on the b body surface, not scratches, just surface swirl marks. very minor dents on front of body, so small can't capture no breaks, scratches, or nicks.the serial # was added for identification purposes, and can easily be removed if you wish to do so. it has gold hardware in good condition, and everything works as it should. no case and stand not included!

I picked this guitar up as an inexpensive way to try out the Telecaster shape while learning to play, thinking I could upgrade it along the way with some Fender accessories. After ordering a couple of small items, like a different pick guard, I discovered that this guitar is subtly different in most dimensions from the Fender it is modeled after, so most accessories won't fit without other modifications. I got the black/gold model of the Squier 40th Anniversary Telecaster – stunning to look at and a joy to play. The electronics and hardware elements are rock solid and the neck, body and fingerboard all make this a great addition to any guitarist's collection. I have a much cheaper Squier Tele (Lake Placid Blue, Bullet Model) and, although that one is a nice guitar (at 1/4 the price of this one), the 40th Anniversary model is in a whole different (and superior) level. This would be an ideal guitar for players of any experience or skill level. It's a very versatile instrument; a beauty that plays as good as it looks. Highly-recommended!Russ
This guitar is a Squier and is absolutely fantastic! I changed the strings to .010-.046 and adjusted the bridge settings and the tremelo tension and oiled the fretboard and smoothed the frets a little. The guitar sounds really good with stock pickups and is a joy to play. This is the second Squier I have bought recently and the quality is amazing for the price. Highly recommended!!Gerry H.
I got this guitar cause it looked vv nice but I was kind of disappointed. The pickups are too high so anything i played had an annoying and harsh sound of the strings hitting the pickups. I tried to lower the pickups but all of the screws easily stripped and idk what to do about it 💔Christian

I was on the hunt for a Jazzmaster for awhile, because I love Offsets. I mostly play Jaguars and wanted to branch out. I bought this mostly because of the color and matching headstock. I’ve never gotten along with the ****** bridge pickup in the Jazzmaster and this one is no different, but I expected that. I’ll end up dropping a P-90 in the bridge slot, so no worries. The setup was pretty nice right out of the box except for the strings which are anemic 9’s. After a swap to 11’s this thing is a beast, stays in tune well and sounds much better. Super stoked on this guitar.Jeff
I already own a classic vibe jaguar and jazzmaster, and I have to say this third one is easily the best out of the 3. The fit and finish is beautiful, one of the best looking i've ever seen, its crazy to see this color and matching headstock at this price point. The sound is, as you would expect from the classic vibes, very close to their fender counter parts and I can barely hear the difference if im honest. I would also like to point out how great the particular guitar I had was setup. And I am pretty sure I have the guys at Music Store to thank for that. In my experience, these guitars come with 9 gauge strings, but this one had 10's already installed, the bridge setup proprely, and the guitar played like a dream out of the box, didnt need to tweak a thing. Best experience i've had with offsets, I had to go and proffessionaly setup my other 2 before they became playable I very much recommend this guitar 🙂
I must say that I am pretty pleased indeed with my purchase of a LP Blue Jazzmaster from CME. Firstly, the service and help I received from CME was top shelf. They were very helpful and very attentive to my questions. Now, to the guitar. The fit and finish of mine were quite good for this price range. In fact, I have personally handled US made Fender guitars that did not have such a clean setup. No significant finish flaws or sharp fret ends here. Mine plays great. One thing that I was pleasantly surprised about was the Alnico pickups. At this price, I was ready to potentially have to install better pickups. However, having played it and enjoyed the pickups, I will be leaving them alone. Jazzmasters often have complaints of neck angle and bridge setup. This one is pretty good as is, but I may have a try at a small shim and heavier strings. For now, it is good. I am completely pleased with my purchase, particularly at this price point. I was skeptical, having never heard of the brand, but am very happy with what I paid. It has a very solid feel to it, bridge and everything was already set up, and after a quick tune was ready to go.
