Initially intended to buy an Xotic EP Booster because I wanted to try the Echoplex thing out, but saw this little guy and figured…why not? I like it so much, I don't see the point in ordering the EP Booster anymore! Hits the front end of my Soldano in a way no overdrive has yet, and with no noise. Works equally well in front of my OCD pedal for a lead boost. And to all the people whining about the switch not clicking…whatever. I like that about the TC stuff and wish all pedal companies would make their switches "clickless". Great value, just buy it already! Thanks TC and Sweetwater!
This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I'm not particularly fond of the "momentary volume boost" feature but that doesn't change my overall opinion. It's a great item.ethan1957

This is the real deal. The pedal has more of a 'vocal' tone than other pedals I've used, much closer to the original '60s sound. You can use it as a 'notch' to get a wide variety of tonal variations and, as a wah, it is very expressive. If you just want to go 'wucka-wucka' along with the beat, any wah will do. If you use a wah as a true expression pedal, downward and upward motions-true 'vocalizing', then this pedal is one of the best. I borrowed a VOX wah in the early '70s and this is awfully close to that one, and less noisy. Get this.Old Styler
I have always been a fan of Vox wah pedals. I have the hand wired Vox as well which I absolutely love. I have a Crybaby GCB95F that i would also recommend. All 3 of these pedals give you that nice original wah tone without adding ear bleeding amounts of treble. When i heard they finally made a pedal that didn't need a battery I thought (FINALLY)…and a buffer too! I couldn't think of a better pedal to have at the beginning of my chain. Compared to its V847 counterpart and the v 847HW I like this one because unlike the pricier handwired [HW] being a production line standard; no human intervention for likelihood of error; as well as the extra output jack on the HW that I can do without personally; I find the action to be slightly smoother on this model [V847A] than on the lower priced original V847. I find it superior to the Crybaby but that is possibly a matter of personal taste. I had a Crybaby back in the 1970s because I settled for one because the Wah-Wah by VOX was out of my reach price wise. So for what it's worth I am completely happy with this as well as the slightly less expensive V847. You will notice a difference in your sound if you just kick it into gear and don't even bother rocking the pedal back and forth. Very cool sound imo.Bill the Alien

Overall: Shame on you if you don’t have this pedal. I just got it and it’s everything I wanted it to be. I have the the color box v2 pedal and I wanted that sound just for guitar and this is it. The crayon is super fun to play around with, you can get awesome fuzz Lo-Fi tones very easy. It's sensitive to picking dynamics, so slamming it's input with an overdrive / distortion gets it real distorted all the time…. Knobs have drastic range. So many tones to find. I love this pedal!sorrow-8

The Kongpressor gives my guitar clarity, even string volume, clean boost, and clean sustain better than other stompbox compressors that I have used. With the chime control you can dial in the amount of treble that you want and get a treble boost effect in the higher settings (VOX in a box). The release and attack dials act uniquely in various combinations (I am still experimenting with that aspect as a lone pedal and also with other pedals to find my preferred sound). I have only used it with a 9 volt adapter so I will be getting a 12 volt to hear the extra boost, but I am happy with the 9 volt. Remember it does not have a battery compartment so you might as well invest in a 12 volt adapter. Compressors can be noisy, the Kongpressor is quiet. AMS service and coupon program are both excellent. Ordering is easy and delivery time is quick.Harv

I'm a studio engineer and have 7 different chorus pedals most name brand and are expensive but for the price.., this pedal cannot be beaten. Put this together with a couple of other pedals and you will never look back. Lush Setting is absolutely killer. Good quality construction and noise free. Some people say it is a noisy pedal but I don't find it to be (my guitars have humbuckers so that may be why). I wouldn't say it doesn't affect your tone because it makes my rather bright/trebbly sounding Trace Elliot amp (mine happens to be all solid state) sound warmer, darker, fatter," but not necessarily muddier. I would say the sound changes quite dramatically when I switch it on. One thing this compressor does which I wasn't expecting is that it can add quite a bit of gain to the signal and really push the amp like an overdrive or boost pedal. Perhaps this is what some reviewers mean by ""noise"". So", I have the pre gain knob turned all the way up and the post gain knob only about 1/4 of the way. I set the compression at about 1/3 and sensitivity knob all the way to the left. I find I like the sound of the LED setting better and I leave the squash setting on. Even with the post gain at 1/4 of the way it seems like it is pushing my amp and making it distort. To my ears the lamp setting seems even more distorted than the led and doesn't seem as smooth. One sound I was trying to get is the sound on some of the old Bread recordings from the 1970's (compressed but not a lot of distortion). I'd say the post gain knob probably has to go lower than even 1/4 of the way on to get anything like the sound of Bread. But, the sounds it does seem to want to make would be say the sound of Slash on Sweet Child of Mine or Neal Schon doing a solo. So, since this is my first compressor pedal I guess I didn't know which one would give me the 1970's Bread sound. I guess it sounds more like it with the pedal than without. It may be that the sound was achieved with a certain kind of tube amp, etc. Once the pedal is on I'd probably have to leave it on if I was performing because otherwise I'd have to adjust all the treble knobs on my amp. With the compressor on I can turn the treble all the way up on my amp and it doesn't sound harsh but with the compressor off I have to roll the trebles back quite a bit. A drummer I used to play with would have liked this because the brightness of my amp always bothered him. To my ears the compression doesn't affect my pick attack much (perhaps because I have the sensitivity knob all the way left). With the unit on my sound just seems a lot warmer and I don't get the ear drum bursting treble peaks that I used to without any compression. Maybe if you have a nice tube amp it does all that without needing a compressor but I think it would still give you more control over your sound. Playing around with the settings you can get weird swells, etc. I was mostly just trying to get a smoother sound and now that I have it I think it is going to stay on most of the time. Quite a few nobs and several switches to play around with. Seems well made. Not sure it does everything but it does do some interesting things. Ordered on a Monday and it arrived on a Wednesday with the free shipping.
Built like a tank. Clean sound (I have a good power noise filter). It's got many options that I like….a clean boost with the compressor turned down, makes a good smoothed signal, or make your signal percussive, can be set as more of a limitor….. If I use a digital effect, I put it in front of this, then through my tube distortion and to a tube/hybrid amp. I plugged my digital drums into this enhanced the sound as well. Like the big ehx pedals, you have more options to shape you sound than most other pedals. This pedal has gotta be one of the most underrated OD pedals out there…. especially given its price point. I have A,B'd this thing against modded BD-2s, modded OD-3's, and the SD-1W and the Mojomojo is just bigger and less tinty. I dont want it to be, but it is. It is a wonderful sounding OD and is great for OD rhythm sounds. It is in the cranked Marshall class of OD's so not to be confused with the green OD pedal. The only area that some of my modded ODs beat it in is sustain. It does tail off on lead stuff sooner than some more expensive pedals. That is the only area that it doesn't win though. You can also use this as an always on boost as well. All in all this thing always seems to knock more expensive pedals off my board time and time again. Highly recommend this pedal and at it's price point it should be in all OD aficionados collection.KL
I use the MojoMojo on my Fender G-DEC Junior and it helps to make the amp sound warmer, richer and fuller. The MojoMojo when dialed in right adds a very slight and suttle low mid thickness, hard to explain. I find its not a "set it and forget it" type of pedal (i.e. Tube screamer), for each amp setting I have to dial it in or it will sound muddy but with a little tweaking between the amp settings and the pedal settings (usually level settings rather than tone knobs) I can get them matched tonally and sonically, bass tone knob is usually set pretty low. I use low output humbuckers and it works great with these. I can get nice overdrive without changing the amps overall characteristic sound.

Some people use the term "good for the price", which suggests that, of the product were more expensive, it wouldn't be considered as good. The "White Heat", however, is not only good for the price, it's good regardless of the price! Like, it's genuinely brilliant! I bought this on a whim to A/B against a DOD 250 and various clones, just to see how it would fare, I have been absolutely blown away! Seriously, it's brilliant! Is it a DOD 250 clone? Not quite – unlike the DOD, the White Heat doesn't have any clipping diodes, so it's definitely a boost/preamp rather than an overdrive, although the last few degrees of the gain sweep start to bring in a bit of clipping. However, for a clean, or slightly coloured boost, it's superb; great build quality, high quality components, and the sound is excellent. I can't recommend it enough, and it's made me want to buy more Caline pedalsjustsomeguyguitar

great value; plenty volume on tap; treble and bass very usable; does color tone a bit but in a good thick way; less bass helps clear up the sound a bit. with small toggle switch in down pos perhaps a little more transparent and with toggle up adds a little more girth to the tone. flat response with vol around 1 o'clock, gain at 7 o'clock, bass at around 10 o'clock and treble around 3 o'clock (at least with my circuit…); gain begins to gets very "gainy" adding significant volume at around 10 o'clock and from will continue to increase to an extreme full tone slightly mid scooped distortion. not designed to be a big bumble bee crackly fuzz but like its label states an "overdrive" and will defiantly push your amp into breakup from mild to extreme.baycman
This pedal has gotta be one of the most underrated OD pedals out there…. especially given its price point. I have A,B'd this thing against modded BD-2s, modded OD-3's, and the SD-1W and the Mojomojo is just bigger and less tinty. I dont want it to be, but it is. It is a wonderful sounding OD and is great for OD rhythm sounds. It is in the cranked Marshall class of OD's so not to be confused with the green OD pedal. The only area that some of my modded ODs beat it in is sustain. It does tail off on lead stuff sooner than some more expensive pedals. That is the only area that it doesn't win though. You can also use this as an always on boost as well. All in all this thing always seems to knock more expensive pedals off my board time and time again. Highly recommend this pedal and at it's price point it should be in all OD aficionados collection.KL
I use the MojoMojo on my Fender G-DEC Junior and it helps to make the amp sound warmer, richer and fuller. The MojoMojo when dialed in right adds a very slight and suttle low mid thickness, hard to explain. I find its not a "set it and forget it" type of pedal (i.e. Tube screamer), for each amp setting I have to dial it in or it will sound muddy but with a little tweaking between the amp settings and the pedal settings (usually level settings rather than tone knobs) I can get them matched tonally and sonically, bass tone knob is usually set pretty low. I use low output humbuckers and it works great with these. I can get nice overdrive without changing the amps overall characteristic sound.

I used a Boss SD-9 until it broke, and I have an 80's ProCo Rat that doesn't quite work as the edge that I was looking for. I was using a Chinese T'Screamer clone pedal, and it was good…but I thought, wouldn't the real thing be better? I weighed price against quality and quality won out, and I went with the Maxon instead of the Ibanez TS simply because the reviews overall were better. I'm not disappointed; the OD-9 is exactly the rocket fuel I was needing to get into the cosmos. Running the 50's Classic Strat through the OD-9 into a Deluxe Reverb is like finding gold. It sounds like a beautiful, buxom angel is sitting on top of your amp and singing Glory Glory Hallelujah. It is the sound you wanted all along and never, until this moment, could you get. For additional fire, to invoke an angry, but still buxom, angel, I run the Rat after the OD-9 to dial in a little bit more divine wrath. This is the pedal you want. This pedal, IS the pedal. So it is written, so it shall be done.
I ordered in store and was told I'd get it 3-5 days. I ended up getting it after almost 2 weeks. Had the run around with fed ex. Fed Ex made the the entire thing a headache with their signature required delivery. I'm never home as I'm always working so it took 2 days to get it delivered after the initial day it was suppose to. Also, I ordered the original GREEN Maxon 808 and the order I got delivered to me was the new version of the pedal which is the Maxon 808X which is a red pedal. Why 4 starts and not 5? If you know what a tube screamer does, then this does the business – 5 stars. It really feels like it's built to last, but this ‘80s style design means the pedal feels very heavy and ‘oversized’ compared to modern designs. Underneath it has built in rubber seating which means it is a bit difficult to attach velcro to fix to a pedal board. All this means that if you use it on the floor (‘80s) style then 5 stars, on a pedal board though 4 stars. Sound wise you might be shocked if all you do is compare the sound from a solo guitar with the pedal on and off – it sculptures the sound so that you notice a roll off of bass and treble … but in a mix or on stage the pedal is superb at highlighting the guitar. Just step on it for a solo and you get this wonderful midrange boost and suddenly your guitar just pop’s out of the mix for all to hear. All in all if this is your only pedal and you don’t play with a cranked tube amp you might be a bit disappointed. If you are combining with other overdrives and/or overdriven amps it can really bring out a clarity in the sound and is a great tool.David B.

I'm a metal guy at heart, so when I finally put the Metal Zone away and started building a grownup pedal board, a Tube Screamer was high on my list. I was particularly interested in this unit because of the size, since my beginner board probably isn't going to be very big. I plugged this little guy into my regular setup and was immediately blown away. If you've played some metal you know the setup: straight into a high gain amp, drive at 0, level at 10, and tone dialed in to taste. It made my Orange Micro Dark Terror, digital Bias FX rig, and even my sad old Marshall solid state roar, but in a much more defined way that never felt flabby or uncontrollable. I would recommend pairing it with a decent noise gate to trim down the hum, but that's just what electric guitars do when you crank the gain, and not a flaw of this pedal in particular. Okay, sure, it can do metal. I've also run this unit through a bunch of other setups and contexts. Through my Orange I definitely got very usable blues and classic rock tones by pulling the gain and volume back on the amp, and setting everything on the pedal around half way. I can even see potentially using it with the drive all the way up as a lead boost or to slightly break up a clean tone. This little thing is a beast for sure, and is pretty much perfect for my uses. It's not a transform your amp kind of effect, it's meant to compliment what your existing equipment already does. It has some specific things it does well, and it *really* nails them. #sweepstakesDan
Stop what you're doing right now. RIGHT NOW, and get this pedal. This tiny little monster sounds incredible and I am kicking myself for not trying any kind of Tube Screamer for my 20+ years of playing guitar. This literally sounds like a tube amp in a box. You can dial in the perfect amount of boost or drive without really impacting your guitar's true tone. If you push it all the way, it's almost in distortion territory, yet it retains warmth and picking dynamics…on the other hand it compresses nicely – like a tube amp. How does it do that? It's magic. I got this mini version because I'm building a mini pedal board, so it fits perfectly. Don't let the size fool you though, because it sounds incredible. The only drawback is that it needs an external power supply. Oh, and as an added bonus, this is made in Japan, and it shows. The switches, knobs, and inputs feel very high-quality. I collect Tube Screamers, and decided to get this for the collection. Soundwise, it works as a TS808; great transparent overdrive for stand-alone use but excels at boosting gain on an overdriven amp. Not as harsh or "dark" as a TS9, and a decent price. Definitely a TS to consider if you're trying to save some money; you definitely won't be missing out on the sound of the TS808. Also great if you want to add a Tube Screamer to a board, but need to save space. The only negative I can say is the Level and Tone knobs are difficult to see for settings, but that's true with most mini pedals. It doesn't take a battery, but there again, neither do most mini pedals. Construction is more solid than the Mooer Green Mile, and the TSMini is made in Japan (thought for sure it was Chinese). The price is great on these, but I'd also consider checking out the East River Overdrive by EHX; my current favorite Tube Screamer clone. As far as the Ibanez Tube Screamer line-up, this is seemingly the best value.Dave

How odd. This review was flagged for writing Big Mu** using the two F's 🙂 For the money, this is a really hard pedal to beat. It goes from mild and laid-back to wild and intense. The controls feel great…like as in excellent quality. This is a reissue of the original Big Mu** PI. I tried a Big Mu** PI with Wicker and forget about it. It hissed so loud in Wicker mode that I couldn't even here myself think and it got even worse with the tone switch off. And even in the so-called Big Mu** PI mode, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as this Rams Head does. And, the Rams Head is quiet compared to the BM PI with Wicker. One more thing, The BM PI with Wicker does not say anywhere on it nor in the included paperwork where it's made, whereas the RH BM PI clearly says New York City on the face of it…Vincent
The tone sweep is nice and there are some interesting spots because it is linear while kind of non-linear at 10 to noon and about 1-2 on tone control. I can't say why but usually I had purchased like more expensive versions of ehx pedals. That being said, I think people need to realize that these are quite accurate reissues and circuits, and just because it is an affordable pedal doesn't mean it isn't great.
Overall: Floats like a stone and stings like a nest of angry hornets! This box has the buzzsaw sound down pat. The fuzz is a thick, smooth, and consistent. I like this kind of fuzz in particular because it’s less fuzzy and little more distortion-like. The Tone knob has a really wide sweep from boomy bass to mid-range Hades. It has plenty of gain on tap and even sounds pretty good with the guitar’s volume rolled back a skosh.I’ve never used the original Green Russian Muff and have only heard them compared through videos online, so I can’t speak as to how they’re different/alike. I got it because I didn’t want to haul my vintage Black Russian Muff around from gig to gig anymore because it’s getting valuable and since it was a pretty jenky design to begin with, it’s liable to break with heavy use. That being said, the reissue Green Russian Muff has a different sound than an original V8 Black Russian Muff. It doesn’t sound as good to me, but it’s not so different that I wouldn’t use the Green Russian live in lieu of the Black Russian for the aforementioned reasons. One huge plus for the Green Russian is its pedalboard friendly size. The Black Russian is the size of an 80s metal lunchbox and took up an awkward sized chunk of the pedalboard. Now there’s more room for other unnecessary boxes (gulp)! One noteworthy ding for this pedal is how difficult it is to see the script on the top of the pedal. The words are printed right underneath the knobs, so if it’s kinda dark (which it usually is) and the lights are all in front of you (which they usually are) the words are impossible to see. Overall it’s a nice fuzz especially for the price. It’s noisy, but once the music gets rolling you won’t even notice it.Brad

I used to think that boost pedals were dumb and that I would never use one. But after watching dozens of videos and seeing several big name endorsements, I thought that the Spark might be for real, and it is now EASILY my favorite pedal. Simply put, it just makes your tone better, no matter what kind of guitar or pickups you run through it. The sound quality and versatility are the best features. It gives you a great boost, but it's extremely amp-like, in the same way that clean channels on good tube amps break up if you crank the gain. And the little toggle switch gives you three different "clean channels" with which to work. The middle position has the most clean headroom and is the classic boost, but still breaks up a little if you max the gain. The Mid and Fat sounds add beef to your tone in fantastic ways, and I use those most often. Do you think that single-coils and/or jazz box guitars sound thin compared to solidbodies with humbuckers, like me? The Mid and Fat settings will fix that for ya. I love my Strats and my jazz guitars so much more now. Turn up the gain and the Mid and Fat settings will give you a great overdrive too. The best part about cranking the gain on the Spark is how well it makes your sound hit tube amps. It gives you glorious saturation at any volume level. This is the perfect pedal to put first in your drive section. Your other drive pedals will greatly benefit as well. Worried about tone? This is the most transparent pedal I've ever used, even more so than TC's other drive pedals (which I also love). The two EQ controls are fantastic and give the pedal a huge advantage over nearly every other boost pedal. Whether fully down or cranked, you get usable sounds in great frequency ranges. Simply put, this is the best pedal I've ever heard. Having volume AND gain, plus two great EQ controls, plus THREE voices to choose from puts this pedal above every other boost on the market. Took a bit of a flyer on this as I sort of have an end result in my head and im not entirely sure how to get there. i have a hybrid amp that has a touch of valve harmonics that im trying to exagerate. this is a step in the right direction (and with some fiddling might even be the thing) i think what i was expecting was more like a compressor, but this is more or a transparent drive type effect (at least with my amp). however it is first drive pedal that ive loved without faffing about with the dials for hours. am getting nice bluesy /seventies blues rock tones using the clean setting on the toggle, and the gain about midway. the fat setting starts pushing into proper overdriven sounds, but with a nice natural tone. so despite not being exactly what i was looking for (my fault) im really pleased with this pedal. so much so i might gift one to my kid. theres a tiny bit of noise when the level knob goes up high, but i get much the same from my SD1 so either its just the nature of the beast, or my set upReviewed by guitarguitar custome

This pedal is so much fun. Well named as the combo of effects makes any small practice amp sound like you're in a tremendous cavern. I'm just getting started with my pedal collection, so my expertise is minimal, but this pedals was really easy to get the hang of. The dials are hard to see and operate from standing so don't expect to be able to tweak without using your hands, stomp switches works great for that to turn the two effects on and off while playing.kmoon60
With the amount of Delay/Reverb pedals being released this pedal is breath taking! The 3 reverbs on-board are inspiring to say the least. Most reviews say this isnt a "just for a spring reverb" pedal however the spring setting on it is my favorite. Love the built in trem. The Shimmer is awesome but the shimmer setting has to be pretty high up for them to become noticeable. The Modulation setting is also very nice though I dont go to it frequently. The delay side is amazing as well. The modulation goes from subtle to extreme. This is a steal at 179.99 and its worth every penny!NRKB

Overall: I've been playing through a Headrush gigboard and needed something different that was just as easy to use, had plenty of tones that were inspiring, that didn't cost as much. I've owned a few Line 6 products over the 30 years of playing music and decided to buy the Pod Go. So worth it! The tones were better than expected, and if you can't afford the Helix series, this is the best choice for a floor unit under $500. The built in expression pedal with toe switch is perfect. You can switch between volume and wah wah or other parameters just by pressing the toe switch in the expression pedal. Basically you don't have to have another expression pedal. The built in pedal can do what you need. I am not tech savvy, I bought the Headrush gigboard last year because of how easy it is to use. I didn't think a floor unit could be. Then comes the Pod Go. It's actually much easier to use than the Headrush. Granted the two have different features but I found making your own sounds easier with the Pod Go. It seems I make them in a shorter time. The color display along with color footswitches make organizing sounds easier than making coffee. If you need a floor unit under 500 the Pod Go is the best choice on the market. If you're a metal head or a traditional Jazz player or love the complexity of Fusion, the Pod Go has your sound.
I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.
Overall: I wish I could say something positive about this unit. Although it does have some great sounds and features, the fact that it is constantly having to be rebooted because it freezes up or shuts down on its own make it pretty much worthless (Yes I’ve done all the updates and other futile suggestions from the support folks at line 6). Add to that a power supply that is a complete piece of crap. It’s cheap, fragile and generally a bad design. It is almost impossible to find a replacement because line 6 wanted it that way. Simply using a Standard, generic replacement (9v 2500 mA) Is tricky and not guaranteed to work. My review for this product: Look for something else better from a company who is not obsessed with nickel and diming their customers to death over some ridiculous accessory.

I can get this pedal to do three things: a very subtle reverb that adds a touch of space, a room-like reverb, and a super long-tailed ambient reverb that's so expansive it almost sounds like it's mixed with delay. There are other reverb pedals for a bit more money that have more options built into them-spring, plate, hall, room, shimmer, modulated reverb, and so on. With this pedal I find it difficult to switch between the different sounds since it's a lot of knob fiddling. It does sound absolutely killer, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I don't recommend it if you want to easily switch between different types of reverb. For me it will be more of a "set and forget" pedal for long ambient reverbs.Andrew
I was recently using one pedal board for all my guitars, and the chorus I had was mainly designed for use with acoustic guitar. Now I'm rearranging things to have one board just for my electric guitars and all I needed was a basic chorus pedal of quality build and tone. I knew from reviews the JHS 3 series was perfect for me. I've been playing for 57 years and have owned pedals in the $100 to $500 range to provide my chorus effects. No matter if I had mulitple options in some stomp boxes I usually settled on a good subtle setting, so I knew there was no need for me to get anything fancier than the JHS. It sounds are good as the little blue Boss Chorus I bought way back in 1980.Jon

First of all let me say I also have the G1ON and bought the G1X Four for the enhanced features and so I'd have one with the expression pedal. I sold all my tube amps when I was laid off, retired and moved to Mexico. My reference point is tweed and blackface era tube amps. I gotta say, once you learn how to dial in the tones you want, these little plastic boxes do a pretty decent job of amp and effects modeling. Like the G1ON, the G1X 4 does a good job of imitating the touch and volume control dynamics of a cranked tube amp at any volume. I really like the Deluxe Reverb, AC30 and DC30 simulations. The G1ON has more vintage style amp types to choose from, and in that regard it is more useful to e. Two kinds of spring reverb, one eats up a lot of memory but really sounds lush like an external unit along with the other types (room, plate, hall, church, etc.). Tremolo is built into the Fender models that have tremolo along with a couple of very configurable trems and rotating speaker effects. The G1 4 does NOT have the Z Organ effect the G1ON does, boo hoo. Beyond that, there are tons of effects to play with and they all sound good to my ears. I currently have 3 small amp setups. 1. Quilter 101 mini docked in their 10" BlockDock cab. 2. Quilter MicroBlock 45 pedal teamed with a 5E3 pine cab with a Emi Legend 12" and 3. an old Carvin SX50 1×12". I can get all three do to do the Deluxe Reverb,Vox AC15/30, E and F series Tweed tones that don't make me miss my tube amps. Wish I would have had the G1ON and the 17.7lb Quilter 1×10" combo back when I was in a blues band and gigging. Interface improvements from the G1ON… Improved display allows for more descriptive/longer patch names. Four pots act as master vol, bass, middle, treble during performance mode for global tone and volume tweeking. The four pots also make adjusting settings easier. For several years now, my pedalboard has had only ONE guitar "FX" pedal. First it was the G1Xon. Now it's the G1Xfour. I play both acoustic AND electric thru the pedal, and they BOTH sound great! Though I've played for over 40 years, I'm not a professional musician and rarely play out; but I do play a lot at home and IMO this is the best VALUE "name brand" guitar multi-FX pedal on the market. It's super affordable, very easy to use, sounds terrific, and is a total blast to play. In fact, this is the FIRST of TWO guitar pedals I recommend for every novice guitarist. I can't speak to it's use in a live setting , that's not what I bought this for but to have at home to record whether bedroom music or demos it's perfect. The effects are great they're easy to use, the older Zoom models were a bit laborious to set up and get sounding right but this has enough knobs to feel like you are just setting up any stand alone pedal. The distortions, the delays, reverbs etc are all good but it's the amp modelling and the EQ options that make it a great little tool to work with. No amp or no room for one in your apartment where your neighbours will pound the walls if you so much as sneeze too loud? No problem !!! this little guy's got you covered. A little tinkering and your demos sound better, a little more and you can get a reasonably good sound for home recordings. The looper is great, its easy to use. The tuner is good. What's not to love ? Plug this into your computer or your four-track or whatever recording devise you've got on with the earphones and you have a decent sounding pedal board and amp which takes up as much space as a box of chocolates. No one will be any the wiser. I'm sure I sound like an absolute shill for Zoom. I don't care I have a bunch of their gear and I love it all. Is it built to survive the apocalypse? No. Most of the stuff I own is plastic. Is it as warm and distinctive as Electro-harmonix or Boss ? No, but it's cheap and it's solid and it works. Is it going to sound perfect through your huge amp? I don't know but it's probably not the point. Me – I make music at home with cheap gear because I have no money or space. Zoom are a gift to home recorders everywhere. And thanks to everyone at DV247 as well. Very helpful during a difficult time to get products shipped efficiently.

This is a perfect no frills pedal. Requires no battery, just plug in line and and you have complete control of your volume at your feet leaving your hands free to play. Bump up your lead lick then back Id down. Works great and doesnt take a rocket scientist to hook up or figure out.batt501
I now have 3 of these pedals on separated pedal boards. It is very rugged and, with the active circuitry, offers clean boost, minimum volume setting, very low current draw and low impedance output. There is also a tuner output. It does not degrade the signal like passive pedals. And, it is economically priced, compared to other active pedals. I am still getting used to the taper as it is somewhat different from my Boss GT10, but works fine. I would, and have, bought again and would highly recommend it.spangler41
This pedal is an industry standard and used by countless professionals live and in the studio. It enables me to practice at home w/the full potential of my guitar's volume, pedals and amp. My amp volume can be to a place where it's working better and can accept the full volume of my guitar. The volume pedal is a go-between that makes it happen at reasonable home volumes in my studio. Pedal steel effects are achieved as are tremolo. It doesn't get in the way or degrade the guitar's tone as other active pedals tend to. It takes practice to get swells sounding good and accurate. At times I find myself needing to increase or back off subtly and that takes practice to hit it right every time. The other issue w/mine is that I'd like it to sometimes be less resistant to foot/leg pressure but there are clear reasons for this (it doesn't move or drift once set). All in all I'm very satisfied w/adding this to my tool belt.trumpetter333
