Great little device. Different to a looper. Great for creating background washes of tonal color on-the-fly. If you got adept at it, you could use it to great effect in live performance. Personally, I use it to practice scales and arpeggios. Very effective and easy to use. I don't know how different or similar the electronics are, but it would be great to see this device combined with a looper. They're similar in concept. It's a nice pedal it's like a sustain pedal for the piano but for the guitar. Really fun to use. Been using it on my gigs ever since I got it. Works great for ballads and intros. The only issue is the foot button makes a loud click. Seems that they would have put a silent one in over the loud clicking one. Also wondering why they couldn't have made it more like an actual pedal like a wah or volume pedal… I've never seen one for the guitar so I imagine it has something to do with capturing the sound. Sounds great. Also surprising versatility with the HP/LP settings. One criticism is that its very loud. Slotting in after 2 boosts and an OD, then before a fuzz has played havoc with my gain structure as, with those other pedals operating within normal vol ranges, I've found the volume on the OCD needs to be most of the way down when using drive greater than 12-o-clock which is even more noticeable on the HP setting. I needed something to stack along side of my TS that did not overpower the sound of the other pedal or sound too thick on its own. This pedal sounds fantastic with single coil pickups and pairs extremely well with other OD pedals. I like the fact it can run on either battery, 9V, or 18V AC connections, making this a great choice if you have limited ports on your power supply. On its own, it stands out very well when dialing up the drive settings and it sounds absolutely great coming through a properly dimed tube amplifier. It is no coincidence you see these pedals on the boards of many great professional players… This box just has excellent tone and all their products are handmade in the USA with plenty of care involved–making them a quality purchase. I've owned the Fulltone OCD for just over a week now and I can confidently say it's the best overdrive effects pedal I've ever had the pleasure of using. It has a sturdy build, it's versatile, it retains the original tone and colour of your guitar/amp combo and it's LOUD! Overall this is just what i needed for my rig . you get what you pay for and i feel i got top quality.. And if you care about aesthetics of your rig will certainly look great. I never write reviews but after a bad experience with some other solderless wonders I think its time speak up. What could be better? this a cable that is easy to make ..looks great on your board and sounds clear. They look very well made.I think they will last a lifetime. That said ..I just got them and havent realy had enough time to test durability. What i can say is i was able to put them together and had my board up and running in a very short time. no problems at all with any of them. Just follow the instructions or go online theres a few realy good videos on you tube that will walk you through it..After i did one the others went together easy as pie.. As far as sound ..i dont think i have the best ear to be fair but i will say I can hear a difference in my rig.. Gone is the mess of cheap missmatched tone robbing cable mangle.. I actually bought two of these kits to finish off a pedalboard and loop switcher. I watched an on-line video and got straight to it. The solderless connections are very easy to make and worked every time. This is in contrast to a D'Addario kit I got a couple of weeks previously, which is why I now own a cable tester . . . The George L cable is very thin, which is great when you are running 16 lines to a switcher. My only gripe is that I wish the ends were a little less bulky. They make it difficult to get pedals really close together to save room on the board. They are also a little pricy, when you think about 5 patch cables costing almost $20 each.John
Well engineered solderless plugs. Just remember to cut the ends off cleanly, de-crimp the cuts, so the cable looks round at the ends again. Place the cable end into right angle plug, push it in a bit, then bend the wire into the slot and screw the end camp down into the plug while holding the cable at 45 degree angle in slot. Lastly, place a rubber jacket provided over the screw end of the plug. This will somewhat secure the end screw to the plug. Then I recommend using a multi-meter to test for continuity at both ends of your new plug. That way… your certain that your plug connections are secure and not cutting too deep to the middle of the cable shorting it out. If you use these cables for a permanent pedal set-up they will work very well. However, I found that if I'm frequently moving pedals around on the board, pulling at the plugs and bending the cables, the connections may become loose over time, and you may have to re-build the plug connection. These cables take less space than Monster and Planet Waves effect cables. So if pedal board space is a premium, this is the best choice. Sound wise… there is more clarity in the top end. If you make them correctly, these cables are also very transparent and noise-free. Strangely enough… these cables sound much better than regular metal couplers and shortened soldered patch cords. These other cables must have slightly more resistance; hence, lesser sound quality. But, I highly recommend the George L cables…. It's night and day. Hope this helps.Nigel Moo Choy

Have still to explore all the tonal possibilities of this aptly-named dual distortion pedal but first impressions have been very positive. The unit is smaller and lighter than I expected but the two foot switches are well separated. With six controls for each channel plus shared 'hi' and 'lo' EQ there are plenty of tone-shaping options. The user manual helpfully suggests some settings to get you started. The internal noise gate has so far proved very effective left on the 'natural' setting. You can adjust the threshold to suit your guitar's output, but having used the pedal with guitars loaded with vintage, medium output and hot humbuckers, I've found no need to alter the default factory setting. My review is for the volume pedal repair kit, i.e., the "string and spring." If you watch the tutorial online it gives you an idea how to do this, and it follows along fairly well. Of course the guy in the tutorial has the sides of his pedal cut away, which is great for visuals, but he utilizes the cutaway during the project, which is unfair and somewhat misleading to us poor slobs. But if you like the pedal, it's worth the hassle to fix it. Now, is this a good design for the volume pedal itself? I have to think there's something better out there. Does exactly what I wanted it to do (subtle pitch correction with virtually undetectable latency) and so very pleased with it. Gender and robotic don’t sound that great to my ears but what I’m not too bothered. Unit is solid and looks road worthy so absolutely no complaints there. Main main (minor) issue with this unit is that phantom power us always on and there’s no way to turn it off (ok for condenser mics but not ideal for normal mics). This seems to cause 2 issues for me – firstly hum/noise with very cheap mics that some backing singers own and secondly PA crack each time you connect/disconnect a mic (not what punters want to hear when you are setting up/packing up) even with normal shure sm58 mics. In my opinion this Unit would benefit from a discreet phantom power switch to overcome this slight design flaw especially as most people would want this for live use where dynamic mics are the norm.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
The device is useful but is not a cure-all. You should be a decent singer to start with. If you are not within a half of a semi tone of the target pitch, it will jump to the wrong note. Having said that, it works nicely for simple beatles type harmonies and can really sweeten them up. Using it in a small performance area will produce a chorus effect–your voice mixed with the output of the voice tone. That feels pretty weird and can be distracting. I think running dry monitors and outputting the processed voice only over the mains might be a good way to go but I have not tried it. To do that the mic signal must be tapped before the effect and sent to the monitor mix. A bit of a pain to do. If the voice tone had a "dry" output jack it would be a lot easier. I bought three of these boxes. One per singer. After going back and forth about it I decided keep them. I can see where they would be useful for recording. I did notice some artifacts (faint bump sounds) when running a female voice through it. Probably not loud enough to be noticeable during performance, however. And it not unique to voice tone. Other pitch correction devices can produce artifacts, too. My settings were CH, Off/hard at 9 o'clock and gender at center. The output is very hot and I had to turn the knob down to 8:30 to have any level of control. The general tone seems slightly less clear even with the auto tune turned off…or maybe it is just a bit more compressed. The gender knob is a riot. We could not stop laughing!Swampy
Works just fine. Until now Ive used a computer with Ableton live and a free plugin (GSnap) to achieve the same thing to do subtle pitch correction on live vocals (which can do up to 8 channels simultaneously i.e. for backing singers). The reason I wanted a pedal was for playing in a different band and who are still on an analogue setup thus no facility for a computer connection. Works just fine. I wasnt after robotic effects so dont use those and knew from reading other reviews than the Gender knob is amusing but thats about all. Just use chromatic and I dont use automatic key detection either as I wouldnt trust it at a gig otherwise very happy with it.sharms*nick

Really cool idea / format for a fuzz pedal. The active eq allows you to go from mid-boosted to mid-scooped and you get the stability of silicon with some of the character of germanium due to the bias control. I'm playing a strat through a 1974x and you can get *good* sounds at low/moderate volumes but this thing really shines through an absolutely cranked amp. You've gotta be careful because on some settings it can start compressing and lose definition (but some people like that so I can't take off stars for it), but overall with the right settings this thing will make your amp sound M-A-S-S-I-V-E. I'm not kidding about that, my little 18w marshall sounded like the soundtrack to inception or something. I turned it off and somehow my amp at full bore sounded anemic which is something I've never experienced before.
It's good, it's versatile, it's consistent, temperature doesn't mess with it too much, and it's reasonably priced. For $99 used I don't know why you wouldn't just buy one. You won't lose any money and you might find a fuzz pedal you adore.Nicholas Steen
If you're like myself, one can never have too many fuzz pedals. Used in conjunction with another foundation fuzz this thing rocks. I bought this because I never owned a tone Bender type fuzz before. The Keeley Fuzz Bender is a great sounding and tweakable fuzz box. This thing cuts though a live mix very well. Sound: OK, so the pre-set programs are hit and miss for me. But that had to be expected, as I am not plugging a guitar into it, but rather a Korg RK100-S2 keytar. For obvious reasons, the cleaner patches, and patches designed around arpeggios sound decent, while the shredding metal patches sound like ass. I'm sure they would both sound good if I was hooked up with an actual 6 string. Features: The most useful feature as far as I'm concerned, are all of those knobs all over the front of the unit. They make it so easy to dial in the sound. Especially when compared to the all digital products like the GT-1. I had a GT-1B last year, and it was aggravating to modify sounds on the fly. The other most useful feature is the Tone Central app. OMG!!! Last month, I trashed Korg's design decision in their app for modifying the keytar's sounds. The window can't be resized, the lines of text are nearly microscopic, it isn't REMOTELY intuitive to figure out how to re-write the patches. Boss' Tone Central app is the EXACT OPPOSITE of all of that. Full screen, each effect section is on screen alone and has 3 different ways to modify the settings. Get things the way you want, name your patch, and click "write," then choose where you want it saved, and click "OK." It couldn't be simpler. Ease of Use: If the preset patches are hit and miss, the "manual mode" is why I bought this board. The keytar really needs some effects to come alive. This board is simply a placeholder until I can build a quality keytar/synth specific pedal board. Compression, delay, and/or phasers can add a lot of depth to my sound depending on what I'm currently using. Those dials make it super easy to get the sound right quickly. It does sort of suck that they are on the floor, but how could that have been avoided without bluetooth and a phone app? And, if that was the case, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place! Quality: I bought this "blemished." My guess, based on the condition of the box that the factory shipped to zZounds, is that this took a fall off of a shelf in the warehouse. One end of the box was mangled badly! Thanks to Boss' attention to detail in packaging, and legendary build quality, I got this product without a scuff, scratch, or dent for 20% off. I like that build quality. (Feel free to play football with some of those synth specific stomp boxes guys! *wink-wink*) Value: Before my fretting hand got too badly damaged to play bass anymore, I wanted the bass version of this product. I believe that it was discontinued, and I missed my chance. I got the GT-1B but didn't like working with it. When I saw that this was available, I didn't hesitate to put it into my cart. Only then, after the fact, did I realize that it was in "blemished" condition. I almost went back and put a new, full priced one in my cart simply because I didn't want the hassle of potentially returning a broken product. So, yes, I do believe this is worth the normal retail price. Manufacturer Support: In the 12 years I've been playing, I've owned several Boss products from tuners to metronomes to multi effects pedals and I have NEVER had to reach out for support. In my estimation, that's the BEST form of customer service! The Wow Factor: G.A.S.! I can't play guitar a lick. But I've bought guitars in the past simply to hang them on the wall. I can't say that I would ever buy THIS product if I didn't need it. But I'm sure that it will still find some place in my home studio, even after the actual pedal board is complete Overall: An easy recommendation for the guitarist on a budget. Depending on one's needs, stomp boxes and pedal boards can become quite pricey. Between this, the Tone Central app, and the hundreds of additional patches available there, if you can't get the sound you're looking for, the problem lies mostly with you.
I have been buying and selling multi effects for many years. I loved them all, even the silly ones such as the RP50, 505, ME30..too many. I guess my favorites were the Korg AX3000G(which I thought was ahead of its time) and the Digitech RP500(awesome reverbs, mods and filters),and even some Pods for their amp sims too. Yes yes.. they all had their short comings in different avenues.. Boss reliability is were a part of Ny early playing days since the 80s..and to this day, I use Boss single pedals almost exclusively as my main rig. I just love the simplicity of their individual pedals and this unit is the only one that comes close in terms of the logic of its settings. I love KNOBS, and the ME80 has plenty to go around with. SIMPLICITY is the key . No more scrolling up n down a screen on the floor which I can hardly see. Now is the ME80 the best sounding multi-effect out there? No sir! With all the current technologies which can produce units such as The Kemper, Fractals, Boss GT1000, and other high res IR capable units from Zoom and Line 6(including some very capable Chinese newcomers), the ME80 can be seen as kind of outdated to some, The ME80 is certainly not what the top guns use these days, especially when occupying an arena concert stages I'm sure(but I bet they still use one or two boss pedals in their rig lol)..Also, Let's not forget that the ME80 initial introduction day to the world was just about eight years ago.. shall we? But guess what, it's still alive and kicking! And that is exactly why you still see it here for sake in 2022 ar least until Boss comes out with some new monster that can handle the GT1000 chipsets and adding more KNOBS to its chassis. The ME80 is gorgeous, it sounds good, and it has a personality. It also has more to offer than its predecessors such as the ME50/70..I mean, the addition of a separate footswitch for reverb,EQ and a simple patch recall?? I would recommend this unit for any small club or a tight rehearsal space for a quick setup and a speedy wrap-up after a show, when it's finally time to go home, no patch cables required.I AM KEEPING THIS ONE FOR MYSELF! Till I get to warm up for Bruno Mars(not happening soon lol),My main Boss rig is staying home, and that goes to my crybaby and the Budda volume pedal with all them patch cables entourage.James
I don't want to program guitar effects. I don't want to read cheesy names for effects that I can't immediately recognize or understand. The young people like that stuff but I am old and old school. The ME-80 gives me my old stomp boxes but grouped on a modern platform. It is basically foot pedal controlled with a very nice expression pedal and 8 on-off pedals. The foot pedals work flawlessly. But the thing that makes this unit awesome is the knobs. You can turn a knob, set a value and get instant feedback on what you did and look at it anytime to see what it is set at. If you know stomp boxes then you know exactly how this thing works. It has by my estimation about $4K worth of stomp box effects and amp emulations. Whether you want an old Tube Screamer or a Big Muff Fuzz. This thing has it. And it has many new stomp box effects like the amazing Tera Echo, Harmonist, Freeze and a Looper. It has just about every effect you could want and you can play multiple effects at the same time. As far as I am concerned this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And I am an original POD user. I still plug into the POD now and then. But the POD is history. The ME-80 is what I like today. I even commissioned a guy to build me an angled stand to boost up the knobs and pedal to make it easier for me to dial in changes. I had it painted orange to match my Orange Crush 35RT amp where I port the ME-80 output. Lastly, if you insist on being a programmer, they let you do that as well and offer a ton of presets online. You can hook up by USB to your computer and program away. Brilliant. The one down side… you have to buy an AC/DC adaptor for $30 or use up a lot of batteries. Well since I figure that I saved over $3,600 compared to the cost of all these effects bought stand-alone, I happily coughed up the $30.Brianne

This mini Blues Drive pedal has great overdrive tone and value. Before I purchased, I tried several similar sounding pedals at local retailers with prices ranging from $99 – $150. I honestly couldnt hear much of a difference in tone. For my money, the Donner Blues Drive is a great buy. It also fits nicely on my pedal board.flintstonephilly
