Reviews:
It is the last game in the series to be developed by Neversoft, due to weak sales the Guitar Hero series was placed on hiatus. Warriors of Rock was designed to return to the series' roots (to late), focusing heavily on lead guitar and towards the existing base of skilled players of the series. The game features a remade career mode called "Quest" set to a story influenced by heavy metal and narrated by Gene Simmons. Part of the story is influenced by the lyrics of the song "2112" by Rush, who narrate this portion of the game, while the finale is set to a new song performed by Megadeth and written by Dave Mustaine specifically to challenge Guitar Hero players. The game features 93 songs on disc, and compatibility with existing exportable songs and downloadable content from several previous games in the Guitar Hero series. Highlights the "2112" segment and the game's improved Quickplay+ mode, but a lackluster Quest mode's story and the lack of focus within the soundtrack. Also, goes from real easy to impossible in less than a heart beat on expert.garbonzox
There was a tear on the box (which I assume happened during the shipping process), but it was packaged well enough that nothing broke. I was surprised when I found a USB adapter inside the guitar. More than I was expecting, but I already had one, so I have a spare now I guess. Plays perfectly, a bit squeaky, but that's about it. Easily recommended purchase for those looking for a plastic guitar. Although I wouldn't anticipate getting more than just the guitar, I guess I was just lucky.virgijalo_0
This game is the best guitar hero game ever, and that's including the new one that have out for the XBOX ONE. The graphics is the best of the series (before the XBOX ONE because of course that game is the best since it's just "live people"), the songs are great also. You really get a large variety of different music and it's A LOT of songs to play through. I love that you can customize your character and you just have a lot of options to choose how you want to play. If you like your music note hitting games, THIS IS A MUST HAVE.roosoraida

Reviews:
I used to play Guitar Hero when I was a teen so it's cool to be able to play it with my kids, and now on the Wii! (Didn't have the Wii back then LOL.) The graphics are really good and overall it has definitely improved since the earlier versions. Tons of great song choices and fun for the whole family to play. No issues at all being refurbished, can't even tell.maddiegirl
Why I bought it… Because of the free GH: Van Halen offer. Had it not have had that I would have just waited until the price dropped To me the setlist is bad and I figured GH:Mix would do the same thing the others did. I didn't think it would be any better than Guitar Hero World Tour GH:WT and definitely not as good as GH Metallica GH:M. I was right, again the song list had the worst choice of songs with the exception of 3 Doors Down, Iron, Maiden, and Bon Jovi. As for the graphics there quite a bite better than any of the others. The create a rocker is almost the same as in the past. Lot's of custimazation but very few decent hair choices. The chothes all all the same, might and I stress might be 2 or 3 new peices. But overall same old same old.. The competitive games are ok if you can play someone as good as you are you will have a blast. But for me it still gets old fast. I haven't tried the online portion of the game so I will not judge how that is. GH Mix: I thought for sure GH:M's GH Mix would not be beat. I am supprised to say I am wrong, for the most part. They almost out did them themselves on this. There needs to be more Metal tones, it's only got 2 good ones. I think there are way too many clean and oddball tones. They removed too many Keyboard tones as well. Back to the guitar though if you have GH:WT or GH:M I am sure you know what happens when you do quick power cord changes, you get that choppy cut sound. That was the only thing I had against GH:M's GH Mix and figured this one would be no different. I am very happy to say I was wrong. I tried everything I could to make it mess up but failed epicly. It isn't without problems though. After watching some videos on youtube of other peoples songs and thought that you could have power chords and lead on one chart, which would have been really cool. Sadly another dissapointment, all you can do is activate other notes so it just looks like you played the power chord. So that is an all but useless feature. GHTunes… Is like grass that never gets mowed… It would be half way neat if 99% of it wasn't crap… All you find on there is immpossible this or to hard that… GHTunes should have a "Remove it" feature where if the song gets enough of those votes it should be permemently removed from GHTunes… That would save alot of space and let all the good ones be heard. And thats pretty much it for my review of Guitar Hero 5. Ill end it with an over all rating on some of the aspects. Scale is 1 to 5 with 5 as best. Presentation: 3 Reminds me a lot of the older Guitar Heroes. Some new game modes but thats it. Graphics: 4 Very good graphics easily there best. The fret boards suck though. Its the same thing for all characters unlike the older GHs which where different. Gameplay: 2 Same old, same old, play each song once which is okay with me 96% of the songs I could only stand to play once anyway but it is getting old, Rock Band is far better. Sound: 3 Its only getting a 3 from me because it has Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden and 3 Doors Down on it. You can also play the DLC from GH:WT. Other than that this setlist should be balled up thrown in a rocket and shot into the sun. Lasting Appeal: 2 For me it's an epic failure the only thing that will keep me playing which is once every other week is GH:Mix and DLC. If you like all of the songs then youll not get board. Overall: 3.5 Only because of GH:Mix Thanks for readingchronoscreations
Guitar hero 5 is an average game from the GH series however it is a Lot better than others such as the most recent Worriors of rock. The game doesn't come close to tendon numbing games such as Metallica but does have a good selection of toe-tapper songs and maybe even get your head banging. The guitar is probably the best part of the bundle pack. It amay not look as cool as the Gibson or Worriors of Rock Axe guitar but unlike those guitars, it does come with the "neck slide" feature (same as the Metallica bundle) which I personaly think should come with all the guitars. It gives another dimension of game play and slightly more sense of realism and adds a bit more of a challenge for all ranges of gamers. All in all, I would recommend this game/bundle because of the above however if you don't already own one, I'd say get the Metallica bundle instead and find GH5 (second hand) to purchase on its own. It would probably work out a lot cheaper this way than if you were to buy Metallica seperately instead. There's great "battle" modes against some real guitaring legends. The songs are from a wide range of bands (mainly picked by Mettalica themselves) and are by far the best variety (and challenging) of all of the Guitar Hero games I've played so far.thatcherl

Thought I'd leave a review on this one just because I was just playing it, but guitar hero is always so entertaining. I love the music of course and playing it with your friends is always a good time 🙂hannah.d
This was my favorite game of all time I still play with it from time to time again! It’s so much fun! You get to play your favorite songs and feel like your in a band! I would highly recommend this! Great for a night in with your friends!! Very entertaining!misty.s
For fans of the Guitar Hero series, this is by far one of the best in that series. Excellent setlist, excellent gameplay. In previous GH titles, you had to unlock all the songs by completing a certain number of songs in different locations. IN Gh 5, all the songs are unlocked and ready to play in Quickplay mode. The bonus battles in Career mode have you playing against the likes of Zakk Wylde, Billy Corbin, and Carlos Santana. Great game to kill time with, especially when you play "Do You Feel Like We Do?", which is about a 14 minute song. Great graphics and decent load times. Highly recommended for the serious GH fan!go_see-hawx

Reviews:
Anyone who has ever played any Guitar Hero title for an extended period of time will invariably come across a song that completely owns them. I'm not talking about a Pat Benatar number, or something from the Killers or Nirvana. They're easy. No, the song that will have you staring in fear at a wall of notes while your rock meter goes into the red faster than ACC will almost certainly be metal, and extremely heavy at that. The reason you never got past hard on Guitar Hero III was because of Slayer, not Santana. Overjoyed as we were with the news last year that Metallica would not only contribute a bunch of their songs for a band-exclusive Guitar Hero title, we were far more interested to see just how developers Neversoft would deal with the difficulty level. World Tour and Aerosmith were noticeably easier than Guitar Hero III, the former going as far as to require much more accurate tracking for hammer-ons and pull-offs, the latter – well, Aerosmith could be described in a lot of ways, but "brutally hard" would not be one of them. Before we get to what it's like to play, it's worth noting just how inclusive this title is when it comes to Metallica lore. The band members were involved in every step of the development, with James Hetfield personally laying down the basic idea for the Career Mode storyline. This is based on a group of fans who followed Metallica around on tour in the early 1990's. It's important to realise that career progression is not done in chorological order like Aerosmith – Metallica vetoed that suggestion, and it's just as well. Imagine starting your career mode off with Motorbreath, or Pulling Teeth; you'd need carpal tunnel surgery before the second set. Speaking of which, you'll no longer have to play gigs to progress, Metallica harks back to the original Guitar Hero set lists style, each requiring you to not only pass songs, but achieve a certain number of stars to progress. There's also no need to perform endless early songs to get to the later stuff, as in Quickplay mode, all set list songs are unlocked by default. We've compiled a list of all the current known songs in this release on page two of this article. There's a good selection of not only Metallica classics, but songs from artists that have inspired Metallica, and those they've either performed with, or produced covers of. Some of the more notable include Bob Seger ("Turn the Page" was covered by Metallica on their 1998 Garage Inc. album), Lynyrd Skynyrd (the first album James Hetfield bought was from Lynyrd Skynyrd, paid for with his lawnmower money) and Motorhead. Motorhead is a recurring theme in Guitar Hero: Metallica, as not only is the Motorhead anthem "The Ace of Spaces" included, frontman, bassist and all-round legend Lemmy features as a playable character. Where Aerosmith dabbled in video featurettes and location-specific gigs to immerse the player, Guitar Hero: Metallica goes way further. Not only will you have access to a comprehensive extras submenu that features unlockable venues, songs, commentary, videos and behind-the-scenes footage, you can also replay completed songs with trivia pop-ups that give information about each track. With guest artist songs, you can learn how each band is tied to Metallica, along with lyrics and history facts. Themed Battle Modes will make an appearance too. We didn't get to sample these, but we've been reliably informed you'll be able to "fade to black" your opponents note track.swordandsparrow
The delivery arrived early, the game was in immaculate condition, and it ran beautifully. If you want to purchase this game, do it here, the pricing is amazing.
In a game called Guitar Hero Metallica you'd think there'd be well more Metallica songs. Only about half the songs in the game are from Metallica the other from artist "inspired" by Metallica. It's said Metallica hand picked the other artist in this game but who knows. It's just really disappointing the Metallica games in this song be they their greatest hits or just some random ones are really fun to play. It's such a thrill with the music blaring and rocking out with some of your friends to these songs. Even the less famous ones get you going. Say what you will about Metallica but seeing them play live is a thrill. Which in this game you get to be them playing these songs feeling awesome after pulling off some crazy guitar solo or a really hard drum solo. Which is why this game gets so disappointing when you have to play the other songs which have none of the impact that the Metallica songs have. Sadly this is the formula which Guitar Hero follows. They've done it with Guitar Hero Aerosmith with Metallica and most recently Guitar Hero Van Halen. It lessens the experience. Plus most of the other "inspired by" artist songs pale in comparison and cheapen the experience. Hopefully Activision and Neversoft have learned from the dismal sales of Van Halen and Aerosmith and will try to learn from Mtv games and Harmonix success with The Beatles: Rock Band. Every single song is a Beatles song and there are even full albums you can download to add to your collection something none of the previously mentioned guitar hero games have. If you can find Guitar Hero Metallica for about 25 to 30 bucks its definitely worth the price but not for more then that. In the end it hits a great note when playing the Metallica songs then takes a dive when it forces you to play the other songs in career mode.ucnyc21

Reviews:
So there's a few things I liked about this game. They changed the guitar so that way for people like me who can't reach the orange button, now I can reach all the buttons on the guitar. There's the regular version to unlock all of the songs they have Guitar Hero TV where people can play online and you can play other songs then the ones on the game. The reason I only have it 3 stars is the actual guitar itself. My guitar was not working well so we returned it and got a newer one. This one now the strum doesn't really work that well at all. Sometimes down works and it doesn't. So majority you have to strum up but, again works sometimes. Now it has to be returned a second time. So for an anticipated game, game was awesome. The equipment on the other hand needs work.nicole.f
Will have to say I was surprised by this game. Being a long time player of the guitar hero games and mastering them to a high level I thought this was going to be a breeze. I was wrong. The 6 button layout is rather deep allowing complex chords at higher difficulties and the overall game play is fun and adds a new dimension to the genre. I thought i wasn't going to like the realistic visuals approach but this didn't matter in the end as the actual story mode this is used in is really short and can be completed in a few hours. The GHTV mode is where I have had the most fun as playing the random collection of songs was keeping me entertained and has a much larger selection of music which is going to be added to over time. The only problem with this mode is its free-to-play model. Where you need to earn coins to buy plays to play the songs you want otherwise you have to wait for them in rotation. This may sound horrible but its not too bad in the beginning as plays are easy to earn as your low levels increase. But after about level 10 you will have to rely on the coins to be able to get your plays. Overall I enjoyed the game and if they keep adding new music to GHTV to play whilst earning coins to play the songs you want, this model isn't too bad. I would recommend this to anyone looking to play a new guitar hero game, but if your all about playing the same songs over and over to increase your score and go for perfect runs it might not be the title for you.Bawhawhaw
New guitar, new concept, new developer and even new songs. The first that is evident even before game start — new, essentially other guitar. With a guitar also the mechanics of game has exchanged. We still watch a musical camp on the screen and we try to get to a step on keys, but strings now not five, but three. Comparison isn't deprived of sense — game in Guitar Hero is for the first time brought closer to playing a real guitar so as far as arcadian restrictions allow. At Activision unusual reincarnation of the most known series of musical arcades has turned out: fresh ideas try to combine with classical practices. The new controller almost ideally teeters on the brink between an arkadnost and realism, and living people instead of animation characters strongly change the atmosphere. My 5 stars to game.

I am so thankful that I found one at such a cheap price and in this great of a condition. This piece was taken care of as far as dust, rust, wear and tear go. And completeness. It was missing the dongle which did make it a good bit cheaper. Thankfully, I had a copy of the same model. The copy that I had, the dongle worked but not the guitar. I was looking for one without any stickers on it, but I digress. 10/10cubeholic0
Good game with older songs. Not much fun on hard lvls with the sweet songs. Normal mode is do able it reminds me of play Simon says, with some good music and it's own little twist. I would recommend this to players if they doing the same thing over and overchristopher.w
Awesome stuff here. You get your favorite music and rock out with your guitar. It’s different from other games because you’re rocking out, standing up and slamming that guitar. A must have especially if you have friends over and go head to head. Love the guitar hero bundles.john.k

Reviews:
Guitar Hero 5 is a great party game. It is one of those games where you can pick it up and play it even though you don't play alot of games. It's great with a room of friends and the Band Set. In my opinion, this has the best track roster in any Guitar Hero game to date. With hits like Beat It from Michael Jackson and Hotel California from the Eagles, this is definitely a Must-haveBen
A very good game to start (or not) with. I suggest every guitar hero lover should try this version as well. It will not let you down.tripome
This was bought as a present for my teenage son & he loves it. The song mix appears to appeal to both young & old as I looked at the songs listed & enjoy most of them myself. Well worth the money in enjoyment value.Lisa

You have to Unlock the Majority Songs in order to play them Only A Handful of Unlocked music in these Games No Party Play Option Makes this a Non Interesting Game. This game used to be a great value when it was under a "Lincoln" But Seller Raised this Once Fairly Priced Game OUT OF THE AVERAGE JOE"s Price Range Over Night . Not a Good Value AT ALL for your Buck.GAMER302
Not necessary to start with these if you are a noobie – all the GH games allow you to pick your difficulty level, and if everyone is new, no-fail mode is always a dreaded option. That being said, these 2 games introduced us to the GH genre, and must be respected for that. Wide range of music, from songs you can't stand to the songs you won't admit you belt out in the car when you're alone. Great place to start, neither game is boring so you're always on your toes. Great for single all the way to band play.dhans59h
For Christmas I bought my son Guitar Hero III, that game is incredible. It is tons of fun, and we can't stop playing it. So I thought I would buy Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. These two games do not even come close to Guitar Hero III. They are not as much fun to play because are a lot slower, and the music isn't as realistic. I would not purchase either one of these games again if I would have known what I know now about them. I am very much looking forward to Guitar Hero Aero Smith which is supposed to be released sometime in June 2008 I believe.shawnha

Its easy to install, just plug it in to the game system, turn on your wireless guitar and its ready. No syncing, no waiting, nothing. instant results. So much better than the corded guitar! and always good to have extra memory for all the games you might want to play!blackknight1976
The item was sent quickly. At first a couple keys were not working but after a little cleaning, the guitar worked perfectly. Great price for this item. My kids love it! Thank you!adrkulak0
Loved playing guitar hero again. Guitar controllers worked with no issues. I adjusted the audio and visual lag from the game itself and I had no problems with the timing of buttons after that. I suggest guitar hero 3 for these controllers 🙂p-hhog-dze0har

Reviews:
The only reason why I rated this a 3 out of 5 is because this was way too hard for me! I don't even play normal guitar and I thought this would of been easier but I just couldn't get the hang of it. Of course my husband is amazing at it and he has to be good at everything but.. it's still a pretty fun game to play with your friends and family and you can always sing on the microphone if you don't want to play the guitar!natasha.d
The latest installment of the famous Guitar Hero sage is here. This game has many good albeit older songs that follow the group Aerosmith. There are 31 main stream songs that are available in the regular gameplay on all levels and 12 more I think it was that you can purchase with your winnings from the game in the songs vault. Gameplay is just like Guitar hero 3, and is made to include the charecters from the Aerosmith band and all their outlandish styles. Steven Tyler is just as ugly in the game as he is in person, and Joe Perry is just as hard a rocker as he ever has been. If you are looking for a way to kill a night this game is the way to go. Beforwarned….Lots and lots on HOPO notes in the songs. These are Hammer ons and pull offs. If you are not good at these you might wanna watch out. All in all a great game. Just shorter then the others in the series.through72
Regardless of what the younger people think, Aerosmith was a huge success in the 70s with songs like Combination, No More No More, and Back In The Saddle. The fact that they then reinvented themselves in the 80s and 90s to become as significant a band as they were decades before is proof they are worthy of respect for the full spectrum of their work. That is why I bought this game and I challenge anyone who says the songs are "too easy" and they played it through on expert without problems. The difficulty of these songs and Joe Perry's guitar brilliance makes this a great buy. I agree that the reduced price is worth the wait but I feel that way about all games. I never buy during the craze faze of $50 prices. I have enjoyed working through these songs and even found a new appreciation for the ones I liked less than others (Draw The Line, No Suprize) with the background info in the interviews. I personally would have liked to see additional interview segements as the difficulty increases. I rate this as one of the best of the Guitar Hero series because I have been a fan since 1975. I agree there could have been more songs from "Pump", Nine Lives, etc., but greats like NO More No More are missing as well. Had they been included, this would be a solid 5/5 in my book. It gets a strong recommendation from me.bur8808

Overall this game receives about a 6/10. Let's break it down… Graphics – 6/10 Come on…I can see bumpers smashing in racing games, more blood than I care to see in shooter games, and even chocolate bubbling in the pond in a children's game… and I can't get better graphics than this for my favorite XBox 360 game? Better luck on Guitar Hero 4. The one improvement I have enjoyed is the better display hud (your score). Sound 10/10 Some of the songs aren't the greatest sound quality (like Boston) but the sound is as good as Guitar Hero predecessors. Overall the track list was top notch. I'd love to see some more popular songs for some of my less savvy classic rock friends, but overall the music is great and will keep you rocking all night long. Overall – 9/10 Judging this game against Guitar Hero 1 and 2, it is a better game and worthy of a sequel. However, judging it against the new Rock Band… it loses some appeal because Rock Band offers more options for more people (mic and drums). If you're looking for a game that will give you awesome songs, lots of fun for all skill levels, and a 4-player mode, you should go with Rock Band. (note: the Rock Band guitar sucks so you'll want to use a Guitar Hero guitar) The new wireless Gibson guitar that comes in the Guitar Hero 3 package is a must have. It's a little easier to hold than previous guitars, I think the buttons are slightly easier to use, and although I thought being wireless might affect some play I can't notice any lag or difficulties. Excellent game… looking forward to a sequel.boardrave
In the next great rage in the music gaming industry, there was DDR, Karaoke Revolution and Get On Da Mic just to name a few. Guitar Hero is the newest musical hit that seems to have taken the world by storm selling 5.9 million copies so far. Wanna test out your Rock star skills? Think that you have magic hands and can complete with the worlds greatest guitarists? Graphics 4/5 Not enough has changed to from previous GH titles to be amazed, sorta like the Sports games differences between the 07 and 08 games are slight game engine upgrades with roster and stat changes. Though there are some notables I have to report. Crisper details and easier to use menu setup. The game is visually stunning compared to the previous titles. The characters are more textured and the cinema scenes are engaging. Between sets, you are subjected to an animated scene in which you receive an invitation to play at the next venue. Gameplay – 3/5 I have some bone to pick with the way the controls were setup, mostly with how the tabbing of the songs. I found on Easy mode to have more difficult song tabs then Expert mode, while Expert mode seemed dummied down. Then theres the battle system to take into account. You go and battle against the greats of the Rock world. Some of them seem too easy even on Expert mode they seem like its still on Easy. .Theres single, Career, Co-Op ,two player Co-op, Battle and Online play. Replay value is through the roof. Soundtrack – 5/5 Let me break it down for ya, theres 71 playable songs – 46 of which are "main setlist" songs, while the remaining 25 are "bonus tracks." In total, 51 of the game's songs are master recordings (the highest total of any Guitar Hero release). The soundtrack features such songs as The Rolling Stones' "Paint It, Black", The Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock", Beastie Boys' "Sabotage", Tenacious D's "The Metal", Weezer's "My Name is Jonas", Muse's "Knights of Cydonia", Kiss' "Rock and Roll All Nite", Alice Cooper's "School's Out", Foghat's "Slow Ride", Metallica's "One", and Heart's "Barracuda."[32] It also features re-recordings of the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the U.K." and Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" specifically for Guitar Hero III, as the original master tracks could not be found. Downloadable songs are always a plus, but it comes at a price either money (About $6.00 a song) for Playstation or 500 Microsoft points for X-Box. As well as free Battle Trail packs. Overall, this game hits the mark and just alittle bit above. With awesome classic songs (But there could have been more) even though downloads will expand this, and the graphics on par, only the difficulty level really needed some tweaking.animefreak28
My wife played the game years ago and loved it. So I bought it for her birthday present, we played it again and still love it. I have only played a few other Guitar Hero games and I like this one best. It has a great selection of songs, super fun to play and I thought the graphics were best of the Guitar Hero games I played.charel.87
