This is my second of these cases to own. I just bought another Marshall DSL100h tube amp head so that I could run in stereo and needed the heavy duty protection this case offers when traveling to shows. I have been traveling a lot this year with different bands and even though Marshall heads are pretty tough, these cases protect the delicate tubes when hitting highway bumps. Sound: N/A Features: The latches on the case are nice and seem sturdy but there's no way to lock them to keep people out.The Handles are bolt on and protrude into the case making the overall outer dimensions larger but give enough clearance on the inside. They also seem sturdy enough. They are not removable. The doors fit snugly and have a decent lip for some sealing quality, the back door has a zipper mesh attachment around the entire inside of it for storing cables and other small items which is nice.The chassis features legs on the bottom and grooves on the top for stacking multiple cases which is nice for job specific cases. Ease of Use: Easy as could be, hardware included for mounting devices. Latches are easy, lids go on snug with no fuss. Quality: My biggest gripe is that the abs body thickness is not thick. Its thin enough it has flex and I feel like a good drop from the back of a truck or the top of a stack of gear it could break, maybe. I don't intend to test or put my recording equipment in precarious places either, but accidents do happen.A smaller complaint is the mounting brackets are holes drilled into the chassis aluminum with corner screws holding the rails that have the threads the screws grab onto. The rails were a little uneven so I loosened the corner screws at the top and bottom holding them and adjusted to center as best I could. Even with adjustment there was a small gap on one side where the other was flush. It's not a real drawback nor is it anything that will affect mounting units into because it so small but it was noticeable to me and I wish I could have had it level. Value: For the price, convenience, and piece of mind it's a good value. I know there are better but I'm not touring, just gigging and it's up to me take care with/of it. It's exactly what I need to do what I need and I'm happy enough I'll be getting a second for in depth recording devices to accompany my basic plug and play rig. I am completely satisfied with this rack case and intend to buy more of them. Though I would certainly not say it is weak, it could have been made a little stronger, but then I start wondering where the best strength/weight compromise is. Maybe this is it. Has both front and rear rack rails. Handles are well placed. Front and rear covers ("doors") fit even if "upside down". They latch on both sides, rather than being hinged, so you can completely remove them. Plenty of internal clearance, so all rack spaces are usable. It seems very durable, but one of the corner braces is slightly deformed, so I think the hardware needs to be just a little stronger. Otherwise, the hardware seems to be quite durable and of high quality. I needed to drill holes in the plywood material both for ventilation and to install casters. This gave me the opportunity to see the quality of the material. This is top quality, cabinet-grade plywood. Just guessing, but I think this is grade AA 3/8-inch thick birch plywood. There are 3 plies, all of which are solid hardwood — no voids or defects even in the interior ply. There are no knots nor plugs visible anywhere on my unit. It is painted black, and the outer surface is plastic laminated. If the plywood should ever be damaged in use, repair is a simple wood-working project. This type of laminated plywood is easy to obtain at woodworking retailers. And it if does break (which seems unlikely) I could easily upgrade to 1/2-inch plywood for the repair, because the rack rails are stood off on shims, which could be replaced with thinner shims or omitted to accommodate a thicker panel. The rack rails are accurately drilled and tapped. Screws are included, and they fit well. This is well-made and I couldn't re-make it from scratch for as little as I paid for it.
At first i was buying this but in a 16 space, which was posted on line , then after a few days i didn't see it shipped, so then i called in again and got a tech which told me they tracked it down, and it was being shipped, after this song and dance for 2 weeks, i finally got a tech who did what they said they were going to do. so he broke the bad news that they didn't have any more of that product. however they had a 12 space a almost 4x the cost. which really upset me … i needed the case,,,, not wanted, so after looking everywhere else, i was forced to by the 12 space, this really let me down as a customer whom has spent thousands of hard earned dollars at G.C, there was no attempt to make this issue right with me i was not offered another 16 space, or a discount, i was only offered a 12 space at 4x the price that i was initially expected for the past 2 weeks, not happy!!!! not cool.. not going to be a customer anymore…Big Daddy G

When I first got this, I notice the 2 bolts holding each rail were loose enough that the rails slightly shifted, so I tightened them. After mounting the amps in, I found that there was no way to support the back of the bottom amp, so I pinned 2 thin pieces of wood between the under-side of the amp's corners and the case floor board. Trying to find a quality case for a fair price is a difficult task. I looked all over, and finally found something built well that does the job well. I'm sure there are higher quality cases available, but this one does the trick for our weekend warrior needs. The only thing that is not perfect is the fit of the covers, which take a little extra aligning at first, hopefully it will work itself in over time. This case exudes quality all over. It's very rugged and sturdy. The wheels are great feature for carrying it around. Find it too unnecessary bulky and over dimensioned. That makes it a bit unpractical to handle, transport and heavy. Lacks a third handle that would make it easier to stand it up when you need to carry it. I would definitely recommend this case to any guitarist who needs to transport their heads (aside from the one on their shoulders). I own a Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce (Series 2) head, and decided to purchase this carrying case for transporting to gigs. The two smaller compartments on the inside are great for all of your extra necessities (pedals, pedal boards, cables, etc.) This case looks like it can fit virtually any head out there. This case looks and feels like it's built pretty well. The handle seems very strong. I've dragged it up flights of stairs, and it is holding up well. Plus there's also two soft handles on two sides of the case. This is ideal for carrying up or down flights of stairs, if you choose not to pull or push the case on it's wheels. I do have a criticism of the way this case is designed. I would like to see future models include a third soft handle. Holding the case just from opposite sides forces you to put your arms and wrists at a somewhat awkward angle, especially with the handles being horizontal. A third handle would allow you to carry the case with your arms closer together, which makes it easier to carry. The handles should be vertical as well, because this will put less strain on your wrists. But the most important thing I should address… In all likelihood, there will be a few inches of space on either side of the head once you put it in the case, depending on the type of amp you have. I don't like the idea of my amp sliding around in the case, and bumping into the inner walls. But before I ordered it, I knew that this was a likely scenario. Here's what I did. And if you can figure out your own system for extra cushion (packing foam is likely the best), by all means, give it a shot. I bought a 12 foot roll of bubble wrap, and cut it in half. I rolled up each half, and wrapped masking tape around them, to create a cushion. I stuffed each roll of bubblewrap into the spaces. Then I took a bathroom towel, rolled it up, and placed it on top of the head, on the side closest to the handle. By having the towel in that spot, it provides more cushion when you tip the case forward. If you are wheeling the case, and then you want to stop by tipping it forward, the amp is going to fall forward inside the case, even with the bubblewrap on the top and bottom. Placing the towel on top of the amp, and on the section that's closest to the handle, keeps the amp from smacking into the inner wall of the case. Even with the extra work that I had to put into it, it is still a worthy investment, and it's practical for guitarists who value their gear, and who may also carry a lot with them!

Sound: N/A Features: The latches on the case are nice and seem sturdy but there's no way to lock them to keep people out.The Handles are bolt on and protrude into the case making the overall outer dimensions larger but give enough clearance on the inside. They also seem sturdy enough. They are not removable. The doors fit snugly and have a decent lip for some sealing quality, the back door has a zipper mesh attachment around the entire inside of it for storing cables and other small items which is nice.The chassis features legs on the bottom and grooves on the top for stacking multiple cases which is nice for job specific cases. Ease of Use: Easy as could be, hardware included for mounting devices. Latches are easy, lids go on snug with no fuss. Quality: My biggest gripe is that the abs body thickness is not thick. Its thin enough it has flex and I feel like a good drop from the back of a truck or the top of a stack of gear it could break, maybe. I don't intend to test or put my recording equipment in precarious places either, but accidents do happen.A smaller complaint is the mounting brackets are holes drilled into the chassis aluminum with corner screws holding the rails that have the threads the screws grab onto. The rails were a little uneven so I loosened the corner screws at the top and bottom holding them and adjusted to center as best I could. Even with adjustment there was a small gap on one side where the other was flush. It's not a real drawback nor is it anything that will affect mounting units into because it so small but it was noticeable to me and I wish I could have had it level. Value: For the price, convenience, and piece of mind it's a good value. I know there are better but I'm not touring, just gigging and it's up to me take care with/of it. It's exactly what I need to do what I need and I'm happy enough I'll be getting a second for in depth recording devices to accompany my basic plug and play rig. But for the average gigging artist recording live bands and doing on the spot sessions it's excellent. Overall: Everybody tries to beat SKB on prices. I fell for it to save 20 or 30 dollars. NOPE. Only 3 months in, these cover latches are slipping. They rattle loose just walking with the rack, and drop on the ground, sometimes just picking up the rack. FAIL. At least the screws hold the gear in; that part is fine.Bucks
