This is my second of these cases to own. I just bought another Marshall DSL100h tube amp head so that I could run in stereo and needed the heavy duty protection this case offers when traveling to shows. I have been traveling a lot this year with different bands and even though Marshall heads are pretty tough, these cases protect the delicate tubes when hitting highway bumps. Killer case. Much heavier duty than cheap 1/4" ply with flimsy hardware for about the same money. Heavy corners and latches and heavy 3/8" plywood. As others have written, I too chuckled when opening the box. It’s smaller than I thought it’d be. However, it can crank. Teamed it up with an Orange PPC12 and scared the neighbors dog. I play a Rockerverb onstage and figured hey I'll grab a micro Terror for the studio when I'm working on demoes and practicing. Everyone raves about how it does the Rockerverb thing so hey why not? Don't bother. At best it's a little practice amp but I honestly like my Hotone Heart Attack better. This terror is kind of scratchy and just a little league sound. I love Orange amps but this one pales in comparison to the classics. I guess you get what you pay for but I expected more than this.jq127
I bought this with a ppc108 cabinet – as my review for that cab says, I was very surprised how good and powerful they are together. I thought I would eventually get a larger cabinet for it, but i would only need to if using it for a live performance with a full band. (might be able to get away with ppc108 with a quiet drummer…) For just playing by myself or jamming with other guitar/bass players it is more than enough. This amp can get you great classic rock tone – but I play all styles of music and generally more jazz and hard rock sometimes into the metal range – and this sounds great for that as well. For full on metal you might want to add your favorite distortion pedal but the tube overdrive of the amp itself sounds fantastic! I haven't tried myself but this thing can drive a 4X12 cabinet pretty well according to videos that I've seen. It really sounds like a slightly scaled back version of a full amp head. for the price you will not be disappointed. You could definitely use this for amateur recording – probably professional recording as well but by then you've probably got a bigger amp. Any one who wants a tube amp to mess around with but doesn't have a lot of money to throw around should check this out – or if you just want something very portable. Note that this is a hybrid, it has solid state power and one tube for the preamp, but don't be afraid, it sounds great! It's louder than you might expect and although with the ppc108 it dosen't have extreme low end, it still has good low tones when used with six string guitars in standard as well as C tuning and I have used it with an 8 string guitar, which flops a little on the low string but with a larger cabinet would probably be fine. I highly recommend this amazing tiny amp. Watch some youtube videos if you aren't convinced. For portability the ppc108 cabinet works very well with this and still sounds very nice, but again you can power larger cabinets including 4X12.valvetuber42

Recently bought this thing after saving up for months. I pretty much ripped it out of the box, plugged it in, powered it on, went through the very quick and simple setup process, and in minutes it was ready for use. I’ve now had it for a few days and already it has made my life a ton easier. Being a musician that goes on the road a lot, carrying around an amp can be a huge hassle. The Kemper eliminates that hassle, while also maintaining an amazing tone. A few things to keep in mind, though:
1. It doesn’t create an EXACT carbon copy of your amp, but it comes EXTREMELY close, so close in fact that I, having played guitar for around 7 years, can barely tell the difference, and the very microscopic differences there are, are nothing that can’t be ironed out with small tweaking to the EQ, specifically the high end
2. The volume may vary depending on how the venue has their sound system set up, so that’s something to be mindful of. You may switch on and blow eardrums at some places, or you may switch on and barely hear anything in other places, so be mindful of that.
3. You will have an amazing tone, so just be mindful of that as well. Even the stock profiles sound great, but the Kemper is taken to a whole new level once you start using your own profiles, as well as commercially sold profiles, such as the ones from Tone Junkie.
The built in Performance mode also allows for a seamless switch between up to five different rigs at the click of a button, which would be impossible to do using only analog gear.
The Kemper can be a pretty big learning curve, though, especially for people like me, who have used analog gear for years, and were even leery of making the switch to digital at first. But after the initial learning curve and getting familiar with it, I promise you will be glad you made the switch.Brandon Johnson
I bought the 600w version after a ton of research and inner debate. I had solid state rack stuff in the early 90's and hated it. It always had something missing from the tone, it seemed shallow and fake. I turned into a die hard tube guy after that. I pledged never to buy any computer amp ever again. I dismissed the Kemper at first. But once I saw some videos and heard some profiles, I was a little interested. I couldn't get past buying a computer and having 1000's of tones at the turn of a knob. Once I heard it live, thru a cabinet in a rehearsal space, I was floored and very surprised. My friend went from a 68 Marshall to a 6505 to a Fender Twin Reverb with a turn of a knob in seconds. I've owned very expensive tube amps with very distinct tone signatures I thought could not be replicated. I was 100% wrong. I profiled my Engl head and did a blind test to see if I could tell the difference in tone once I shaped it up. I honestly couIdn't tell the difference. When I guessed, I picked the Kemper 4 out of 5 times. I went to the rig exchange and found a profile that was reasonably close to a 59 plexi. I tweaked it for 10 minutes. Within that 10 minutes, I saved thousands on a new tube amp. The Kemper is a perfect fit for the skeptic. There's a million forums and tutorials out there so you'll never feel lost. Once you learn the menus and how to dial in a tone or profile an amp, you're hooked. This is the most versitle amp I've ever owned. I am completely satisified.Rob
Like the title says, you can find 1000's of these for sale used and there's good reason for that. It doesn't sound like tube at all. I think it's good for the studio where I've used one. But live? If you're fine with a solid state head, then fine. The modeling really isn't any better than higher end Line 6 modeling. This past labor day, Great White was playing a festival near by. They had a total of 8 Marshall 4×12's on stage with 4 DSL 100 heads. Not one of them was powered on. So I looked around for what they were going to use, I saw 2 Kemper Profiler heads. 1 for each guitarist. The sound was absolutely terrible. Neither amp sounded anything close to a Marshall or like tube for that matter. You could hear the cab emulation a mile away. At this price point go another direction. MIDI is simple to use to change the channel and various other parameters too. What a fantastic amplifier this is. Worth every penny. The High and Low power settings both give different sounds and are equally usable. For more gain I use a Korg Nu:Tekt Over Drive pedal, they go very well together. I use beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones with the cab sim output every day! Have not stopped playing this amp since it arrived and I would say to anyone looking for an amplifier like this that if they are in a position to do so, then buy it without hesitation. My Shergold guitar and my Gordon Smith guitar go so well with this amp- both guitars have Humbucker pick ups and definitely give me the kind of tone that I have been looking for since I first heard JoyDivision more than 40 years ago. The amp works well with my Gibson ES330 guitar too which has P90 pick ups and is sort of an upmarket Casino. If anyone knows the sounds of Bernard Sumner with both the Shergold Masquerader and the ES330 then this amp sounds a lot like his setup without the punishing volume of his Vox. I have also been able to get the Neil Young Cortez the Killer tone pretty convincingly too. No regret at all in buying this amplifier and if it breaks would buy another without hesitation. Ich habe den Ampman aufgrund der vielen guten Bewertungen im Netz gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden. Ich nutze ihn auf einem Pedalboard mit einem vorgeschalteten Elektron Analog Drive und im Effektloop einem Line 6 M5 und uraltem Ibanez Stereo Chorus. Der Sound des Ampman alleine gefällt mir schon sehr gut und es gibt einen Haufen Einstellmöglichkeiten. In Verbindung mit dem Analog Drive lässt sich das gefühlt endlos erweitern. Wer nicht gerade so ein Riesending wie den Analog Drive auf sein Board packen möchte, kommt sicher auch mit einem einfachen Zerrer gut aus. Wie gesagt, die Möglichkeiten sind gefühlt unendlich. Die Bauqualität ist auch super. Die schlechte Ablesbarkeit der weißen Schrift kann ich bestätigen. Stört mich aber in der Praxis überhaupt nicht. Die Redbox AE über Kopfhörer finde ich Klasse. Sound gefällt mir auch da sehr gut.

I just completed my Mod 102 kit. An excellent experience! I was delighted with the quality of components, clarity of instructions, and, perhaps most importantly, the sound of the amp. It is very loud – currently running into my Fender Twin Reverb cab (2×12) and very sweet! I will be running it into a new 1×12 cab with a new Celestion G12 M Heritage 'Greenback' when I get a case for the speaker (on order). My only criticism (and something to look out for) is that the chassis is very nicely painted in gray gunmetal paint. Even following the directions to file all the holes, it is very hard to get a good ground connection at every point a terminal strip connects. I worried about this, and about 1/3rd of the way through the build, took an ohm meter to check all the connections, and as I had suspected, some of the connections were not great (9-10 ohms or so!) So I removed the terminal strips (with the components I had already soldered still attached) and scraped away the paint under the tabs of the strips to ensure a good connection. Re-testing showed virtually zero resistance. I'd strongly recommend scraping the paint away at all holes under the chassis before getting started on the build. Even better, suggest that Amplified Parts leave the inside chassis unpainted (at least around the important holes). Aside that one criticism, I am delighted with the kit and with Amplified Parts. Everything was delivered promptly and they are a class outift. I'll probably try some of their other kits soon.vpmerlyn
I spent three evenings building the MOD102. The instructions are very easy to understand and the amp has a great Fender sound. I had one grounding issue that was easily fixed with a little help from tech support, which was excellent. If you're good at following step by step instructions and can solder well this is a fun little amp to build. Only small issue is the labels. They could stand an improvement.Brandon
I just finished this amp build and it sounds fantastic! I also just finished a Marshall 18 Watt clone and I have to say that the Mod102+ holds its own very nicely alongside the Marshall. In fact, I will probably use the Mod102+ for recording because it sounds amazing at lower volumes (the Marshall is loud AF). Honestly, if I were only going to build one of them today, it would be the Mod. I'm blown away by the tone! Great kit with excellent instructions. Great bang for the buck. The parts all seem to be top quality. I love the old style cloth solid core wire, too. I find it much easier to work with than modern stranded wire. The labels are a bit lame but I covered them with packing tape as suggested before cutting them out and they look fine. If you're thinking about building an amp, build this one.danjbeckett

Meteor 20 watt tube stage driven head in their new bantam series of heads the meteor is just one awesome little powder keg in their new bantam series and will be offering more models soon. 20 watts of tone in easy take anywhere configuration. the meteor from joyos bantam p series is a very compact and portable 20 watt head. it gives you a modern high gain sound with a lot of dirt and bites. based on a more modern british approach to heavy sounds, it excels in a variety of genres. it was the punk and indie scene that introduced those sounds to the world, but today, due to an increase in gain, also the metal players enjoy this alternative british flavor. the meteor can give you those sounds in a tiny package and deliver a hefty punch of gain and bottom end. the amp operates with a single 12ax7 tube in the preamp and uses a solid-state power amp. the fx loop enables you to put your time-based effects (or phasers, flangers, and choruses) behind the drive section and keep the effects sharp and not prevent them from being too muddy. the amp also has a clean channel that can take pedals really well, which makes it flexible and a great little companion for many situations where your big head is just not sensible. the amp has a speaker out rated at 8o, but can also be operated at 16o with less power. careful, the amp is small but loud its 20 watts can be quite a handful. if you want to practice quietly, use the built-in headphone out with speaker emulation. the icing on the cake is the bluetooth connectivity. easily connect with your bluetooth enabled device and play music through the bantam. this is great to practice with play alongs or to learn songs.

Theres no way this thing should sound as good as it does. It really does put the OR in MeteOR… I was surprised how well it pushed my old Laney 4×12 cab as well as it did. The only thing I wished it had was a foot switch to switch between the clean and OD channels but at least it has a clean channel.ushdaddy716
Bought one recently to pair with my Telecaster. Really good 2-channel amp for the money as long as you have a decent cab to pair it with. It's loud for its size, fairly versatile and extremeply portable. The Meteor is supposed to be modeled after the Orange sound, and while it doesn't quite get there, it does have tons of that British crunch on the OD channel and it sounds pretty convincing for what it is. The clean channel is quite passable and would make a great pedal platform considering these amps have an FX loop. The tone control on the Meteor is a bit too subtle for my taste, but again, the FX loop allows for tone shaping through other means. The Bluetooth feature is all but worthless and I wonder why the extra electronics and room wasn't used for something more useful like a footswitch input for channel switching, or built-in reverb/delay. Either of those options would have been infinitely better than Bluetooth connectivity. The headphone out supposedly has cab simulation; it's not the worst I've heard but it isn't all that great either. Overall, this is definitely a great amp that is easily worth the money if you're looking for a nice practice or studio amp for British crunch and classic rock sounds.barny1515

I bought the amplifier based on sound clips and others reviews. I love the amps clean channel with OD, Eq and delay in the signal chain for my driven sound. It gets a very articulated, clear, deep throaty sound that is intoxicating for rock sounds. I only have to turn it up to about 4-5 to be clearly heard in the mix. I don't care much for the OD channel as I find it a bit harsh for my taste, even when I dial it back a bit & Eq. it. The only comparisons I have are to my VOX AC 50 and Mesa V mark 25 valve amps. This amp is a great, inexpensive alternative that is ultimately portable – glad I bought it!Dr Crusher
This is a good amp that will give you different results based on your pickups and speaker cab. The tone stack is a bit dark so I like it less with humbuckers than with single coils, but it's still very useable either way. Depending on how you set it, it may or may not have trouble cutting through a band mix. I haven't had that problem, but my amp is always mic'd and we don't play super loud. The dirty channel is – from what I understand – more like an OD pedal overlaid on top of the clean channel. It sounds good and has its own lo/hi EQ and can go from a semi-clean boost to about as much gain as a tubescreamer or the like. Sounds very good, IMO, to the point that it would be possible to use this amp with no pedals for a gig. And it does take pedals well – I haven't run into anything that doesn't sound good. Overall this is an excellent lightweight amp that sounds great and is very giggable. I don't know that it's "better' or "worse" than "a tube amp" (as if tube amps are one generic thing). It just sounds good. I've never felt it lacked anything. I run it through either a 1×10, 1×12 or 1×15 cab and all sound great.Al
Love the clean channel – sparkly without ice pick highs. I don't care for the OD channel, it sounds too harsh for my style. I get the sound I want through an old GenX 2 from Digitech fed into the amp & out to 2 single 12" speakers. I'm blown away by how loud this little amp can get. It gives a full, thick throaty sound that is very articulate and gives singing highs when needed. The portability and sound delivery is amazing! I bought the open box model and couldn't be happier. I was fortunate enough to use this amplifier for all the 2017 Warped Tour dates that my band was scheduled for. Playing through this amp every day was really inspiring. My favorite thing about the SC50 is how it reacts to pick attack. You can play soft and you will get a more pure clean tone but if you dig in it reacts brilliantly and you get a beautiful overdriven tone that is unmatched in my experience. I play really dynamic music and that definitely came in handy day to day. The amp also sounds great with pedals which I use a good amount of. In particular it really shines with overdrive, fuzz and distortion pedals. I highly recommend the SC50 to players seeking an incredible sounding amplifier with a really pure and powerful sound. This was Jimi Hendrix clean channel on tour in '67 The sound is so perfect you don't need any effects Playing bass, guitar, or electric ukulele it just seems so natural sounding and all I do is try without jumpers, then with the jumpers until I get "my sound" then adjust the tone then volumes and I'm set for the whole show, minor adjustments using controls on the instrument is all I can play it for hours, the sound I can't describe its really pleasing to the ear!TIC

This case exudes quality all over. It's very rugged and sturdy. The wheels are great feature for carrying it around. Find it too unnecessary bulky and over dimensioned. That makes it a bit unpractical to handle, transport and heavy. Lacks a third handle that would make it easier to stand it up when you need to carry it. I would definitely recommend this case to any guitarist who needs to transport their heads (aside from the one on their shoulders). I own a Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce (Series 2) head, and decided to purchase this carrying case for transporting to gigs. The two smaller compartments on the inside are great for all of your extra necessities (pedals, pedal boards, cables, etc.) This case looks like it can fit virtually any head out there. This case looks and feels like it's built pretty well. The handle seems very strong. I've dragged it up flights of stairs, and it is holding up well. Plus there's also two soft handles on two sides of the case. This is ideal for carrying up or down flights of stairs, if you choose not to pull or push the case on it's wheels. I do have a criticism of the way this case is designed. I would like to see future models include a third soft handle. Holding the case just from opposite sides forces you to put your arms and wrists at a somewhat awkward angle, especially with the handles being horizontal. A third handle would allow you to carry the case with your arms closer together, which makes it easier to carry. The handles should be vertical as well, because this will put less strain on your wrists. But the most important thing I should address… In all likelihood, there will be a few inches of space on either side of the head once you put it in the case, depending on the type of amp you have. I don't like the idea of my amp sliding around in the case, and bumping into the inner walls. But before I ordered it, I knew that this was a likely scenario. Here's what I did. And if you can figure out your own system for extra cushion (packing foam is likely the best), by all means, give it a shot. I bought a 12 foot roll of bubble wrap, and cut it in half. I rolled up each half, and wrapped masking tape around them, to create a cushion. I stuffed each roll of bubblewrap into the spaces. Then I took a bathroom towel, rolled it up, and placed it on top of the head, on the side closest to the handle. By having the towel in that spot, it provides more cushion when you tip the case forward. If you are wheeling the case, and then you want to stop by tipping it forward, the amp is going to fall forward inside the case, even with the bubblewrap on the top and bottom. Placing the towel on top of the amp, and on the section that's closest to the handle, keeps the amp from smacking into the inner wall of the case. Even with the extra work that I had to put into it, it is still a worthy investment, and it's practical for guitarists who value their gear, and who may also carry a lot with them!

This EVH 2×12 cab sounds perfect with my EVH head. Small and doesn't take up much room. Just got it with a EVH head last month. solid birch plywood so it's not cheap MDF. The 12" 30watt Celestion anniversary speakers packs a huge punch. Would sound great with any amp head. If you're thinking about a high end 2×12 cab look no further.
This evh 2×12 screams! The build quality is superb and extremely high, the Celestions are super detailed and the sound is massive, I purchased a amp stand and threw this bad boy on it and now it stands at about 5 ft and half from the floor and it drowns out the drummer , I never really liked 4×12 cabs unless it was mic'd because live they sound a bit muffled since they sit closer to the floor, This 2×12 has a massive sound quality!Chris
Overall: Got this as I was tired of lugging a 4 x12 around as I play out a lot. If you own the 5150 EVH 50 watt then get the matching cab. It makes such a huge difference. This cabinet has really changed the sound of the head. Notes are so much cleaner and cuts through so much better then the blackstar 4 x 12 I was using. And it is actually way louder than my 4 x 12 or at least sounds like it mainly because how well it cuts through the mix. I have played 3 shows in the last 2 weeks with it. 2 of them the cabs werent miked and i was only on like 4 on the volume and this thing filled up the room with ease in a loud punk/metal band. Miked through a real PA and it sounds amazing. I have played my evh 5150 head through, marshall, orange, blackstar, and mesa cabinets and this is still the best sounding cabinet with the EVH head.Kevin

I bought this to pair with my Grandmeister 36 and was not disappointed, in fact I was blown away! They sounded good at first but keep sounding but each time I use them as they break in. There are three portholes not visible the allow air flow. The vintage 30s are great, they were made in China but with this setup sound better than the UK V30s which surprised me because I was close to swapping them out. I like how you can stand it up or have normal to fit a standard head. Sounded great with my Marshall Class 5 too.Mike
Been playing through this amp for about 30 days and it has a horrible buzzing and rattle after only 30 days. Only connected to 40W amp, so its not like it was over powered. Musicians friend won't help because I ordered 2.5 months ago. But it took them 2 months to ship the amp so I didn't get to use the speaker cab until about a month ago. I guess I'm on my own now. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews. This product is well made and looks like it will last forever. The only problem is with the one obvious design flaw. The top rear support rail is only 19" long, which is way too short for some amps. If you have an open-back combo amp, the rail will sit inside the side walls of the amp and potentially push against tubes. That makes it unusable. There is a simple modification to fix this. Just add a piece of wood or a steel tube to lengthen the rail. I knew when I ordered the stand that I would need to do this, so I wasn't upset when I received it. I would still recommend this product, but just be aware that depending on the design of your amp, you may need to modify the stand. A little disappointed in Gator. Their products are usually very well thought out. Still, it's a usable product, after you make the mod.mclove2000
This amp stand is solid and does just what I need it to do. I love being able to have the amp angled back so I can get the sound directly from the amp as well as from my monitor. I like that this is low enough to the ground that I can use my amp mic. stand. A big shout out to my sales engineer Ian Lemberg! My guitar player used this on a gig and because he has a Fender Hot Rod Deville the back support fell right in where the back of the amp is open. It held the amp but not the way you want and because of this the center of gravity was off, we needed to lean it against the wall for more stability. If the back support was the size of the front support there would be no problem! Why they made the back support smaller than the front is beyond me. Just a few more inches on the back support and there isn't an amp that it can't hold. This stand will support a 100 lbs. amp with ease it's very well made.BT
