I just bought another Marshall DSL100h tube amp head so that I could run in stereo and needed the heavy duty protection this case offers when traveling to shows. I am completely satisfied with this rack case and intend to buy more of them. Though I would certainly not say it is weak, it could have been made a little stronger, but then I start wondering where the best strength/weight compromise is. Maybe this is it. Has both front and rear rack rails. Handles are well placed. Front and rear covers ("doors") fit even if "upside down". They latch on both sides, rather than being hinged, so you can completely remove them. Plenty of internal clearance, so all rack spaces are usable. It seems very durable, but one of the corner braces is slightly deformed, so I think the hardware needs to be just a little stronger. Otherwise, the hardware seems to be quite durable and of high quality. I needed to drill holes in the plywood material both for ventilation and to install casters. This gave me the opportunity to see the quality of the material. This is top quality, cabinet-grade plywood. Just guessing, but I think this is grade AA 3/8-inch thick birch plywood. There are 3 plies, all of which are solid hardwood — no voids or defects even in the interior ply. There are no knots nor plugs visible anywhere on my unit. It is painted black, and the outer surface is plastic laminated. If the plywood should ever be damaged in use, repair is a simple wood-working project. This type of laminated plywood is easy to obtain at woodworking retailers. And it if does break (which seems unlikely) I could easily upgrade to 1/2-inch plywood for the repair, because the rack rails are stood off on shims, which could be replaced with thinner shims or omitted to accommodate a thicker panel. The rack rails are accurately drilled and tapped. Screws are included, and they fit well. This is well-made and I couldn't re-make it from scratch for as little as I paid for it.
At first i was buying this but in a 16 space, which was posted on line , then after a few days i didn't see it shipped, so then i called in again and got a tech which told me they tracked it down, and it was being shipped, after this song and dance for 2 weeks, i finally got a tech who did what they said they were going to do. so he broke the bad news that they didn't have any more of that product. however they had a 12 space a almost 4x the cost. which really upset me … i needed the case,,,, not wanted, so after looking everywhere else, i was forced to by the 12 space, this really let me down as a customer whom has spent thousands of hard earned dollars at G.C, there was no attempt to make this issue right with me i was not offered another 16 space, or a discount, i was only offered a 12 space at 4x the price that i was initially expected for the past 2 weeks, not happy!!!! not cool.. not going to be a customer anymore…Big Daddy G

Took me awhile to research what the best-built rack in this price range was. Pleased to say that this rack arrived and box packaging was very protective. Came with 4, 4-inch, heavy blue casters and all the bolts needed to mount them, plus extras. Very easy to bolt on the casters, holes are done for you and everything. The rack is robust and very well built. Even though it's not a shock mount case, it's pretty strong. The casters are very strong and roll nicely. I read some horrible user reviews about the Seismic Audio casters breaking off easily, but the Pro-X comes with a sturdy caster board that the casters mount to, no problem. The lids fit on easily and latch strongly. I once had a cheap rack where the doors wouldn't fit into the grooves unless you hammered them in. Altogether this rack is incredible for the price point ($194.00 and free shipping). Definitely recommend!victor327

Not worthy of being called fender. It's like I bought a knock off brand. This was supposed to be for a Christmas present and so I ordered the dark blue one. It had the same issue of the leather falling off on the inside. The only thing keeping it together was a thin amount of glue. It was falling apart. So we returned it for another one. And got this light blue one. The problem was worse. We are having to glue it on ourselves. But honestly this is unacceptable. Not only was the leather unglued but there was several holes in the outside, and the fender logo inside is just plastic wrap on top of a metal button. My husband is dealing with it because I got it for him but I expected better. He loves fender, and I notice quality details right away and this wasn't it. They need to reevaluate what they are doing to save money. Definitely would not gonna buy again or recommend to anyone that wants a case that will last a long time. I purchased the tweed/red case and really love it. I had read some negative review in the past so I was a little hesitant but the one I got arrived in perfect condition (quality materials, latches all line up, etc.) and just looks fantastic. One thing I would like others to know (should be more common knowledge and the case should come with a small instruction sheet, for which I would give a Fender/G&G a full 5/5 stars), is that at first you might think the case is a little small because of the padding — it is actually fine as long as you know that you need to "pre-squish" the sturdy padding and then properly insert the guitar (and also let it get settled for a bit). Indeed, this particular tweed case has very sturdy padding where the headstock and bottom of the guitar touch (also a little on the sides). This is a good thing in the long run but at first it appears as if the guitar might not fit (either a Tele or Strat with regular size headstock). There are forums explaining that it is best to put the head stock in first and then slowly push the bottom in. I would also add another very important step before that… With a little patience and elbow grease (but careful not to overdo it), spend a bit of time carefully squishing down the padding on both ends. After a little while, check (and re-check as necessary) to see if the guitar is getting easier to fit in (be especially careful with the high "e" string tuner when test fitting to avoid getting bad pressure on it). Your patience will pay off when you get to the point where the guitar fits very snug all around (without any loose movement). I suppose they could use more squishy material for the padding for an easier initial fit but it seems that would risk a loose fit in the long term. Since these cases are more for vintage vibe than, say, super-duty TSA-approved for heavy travel, it is more good than bad that the padding needs a bit of initial coaxing to get the best fit so it stays more snug long term.JOSE
This case is not what I expected from a G&G case. I've owned numerous G&G cases over the years and currently own two that came with my 70th anniversary Broadcaster and AVRI 62 Telecaster and this case is not the same quality as those. The first thing I noticed is that this case is extremely light. That's because it's made of thin, flimsy material and the top will flex under light pressure.The overall quality is nowhere close to the older G&G cases; tolex, latches, handle…everything. Also, my guitars fit very snugly in the older cases and with this one, my Tele has room to slide back and forth about a quarter of an inch. These cases aren't bad, they're just not great quality and what you'd expect from G&G. In my opinion they're a little overpriced for what you get, too. Also, be aware that the "orange" plush interior is closer to red than orange and does not look like the photos.Adam
