I needed an inexpensive practice amp for home use, so I bought this amp – big mistake! I wasn't expecting the sound of a more expensive amp, but this amp is nothing more than a noise machine. The sound is filled with static and noise to the point it is unusable. The static and noise push the little sound you get to the background. Maybe, I received a bad amp, but I'll never know since MF felt the issue lay with my personal sound quality preference and not the amp. Apparently, for MF the sound quality is good enough for an inexpensive amp, and the customer should be aware. To a degree, MF is right – I should have known better, but I never thought there would be absolutely no sound quality. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AMP!Jack

Originally purchased a Rogue Rocketeer Electric Guitar Pack, which included this G10 Amplifier, for my Great Nephew for Christmas. However, the one which came with the Pack didn't sound right and quit completely after about 15 minutes. I notified Musician's Friend Customer Service about the problem and they immediately took care of it by sending a replacement. The replacement arrived and it worked fine, and sounded good for a 10 watt practice amplifier. Was very pleased with the sound and quality. It even has a little drive button which gives the amp a little bit of distortion if you like to play that sort of thing. I was getting a beater electric guitar for my new place and needed a small, inexpensive 10W amp. This was just about the cheapest thing on the market that met my criteria. Frankly, I was just blown away. It sounds like a legitimately good amp. Powerful too; I haven't once yet moved the volume knob higher than about the "2" setting when in overdrive mode. At the price it was everything I could have hoped for and then some.Z

If you're expecting an amazing Marshall sound, you might want to invest in some of the bigger amps Marshall has to offer. If you think you can get a concert level sound out of this little guy, you will not be the happiest person. However, that level of "high" expectation would not be very reasonable or even realistic for such a little amp. This is a very cute, small amp that will help you plug your guitar so you can practice quietly in any room in your house without annoying your wife. It will distort if you crank the volume all the way out, and if you're used to the full sound of a bigger Marshall (like I do) it might make you feel like you're hearing your guitar over an old telephone (just my opinion). However, if you calibrate your instrument volume & tone you can find a happy medium. With that said, for the price it is a very nice solution to practice and if the sound seems too weak for you, you have the choice of putting headphones. I personally use it just for practice on the fly, it serves it purpose, but then again I was not expecting the best sound output. So I am happy with the purchase.BeeZee

It's basically a toy amp. I can see it being used as a portable amp for non-serious performance. Personally, I like it for a quick jam and for (relatively) quiet practice in my apartment setting. Won't disturb my neighbors but it does get noticeable at the highest volume. That and the overdrive knob are the two main controls. By default it just does a clean sound but overdrive lets you toggle in some gain for that distortion. It has a good look that definitely models after its bigger brothers.Rick

I don't know what some of you guys expect from this thing, but be realistic: it's an inexpensive 5 inch tall, 1 watt amp. It's not designed for anything but sitting in a chair and entertaining yourself or a couple of people. Within that context, I enjoy this thing and sometimes get it off the shelf and play around with it for awhile. Also, when I owed somebody a 1 minute long riff for his podcast and my main amp was getting some regular tech service, I plugged my American Standard Strat into this thing, mic'd the amp, used the OD channel with the volume and tone both on 10, played the part, then added tons of bass, reverb, and chorus to it in post, and it sounded great and nobody ever knew that I recorded the part using a 5 inch tall amp. It is what it is as long as you don't expect the world.Steve

Great Amp/speaker for a portable PA system. Very clean sound with tone controls for 3 different channels. I play flute and bass flute, and want an acoutically accurate sound. I also plug an acoustic guitar in at the same time. I am picky about my sound, and am very satisfied with this system for playing small rooms.mmmark11

This amp is all most solo acts will need to play a room that seats 50-80 people. The features include all the essentials: balanced line out, 3 inputs with per-channel EQ and one XLR input; FX loop. The 10" speaker sounds great. The amp gets plenty loud on its own, and makes a good onstage monitor for very loud gigs where you can line-out to the PA. Easy to carry with one hand, not too heavy at less than 40 pounds. In its price range, nothing else offers as much mixer and amp together. If you need something really loud–like for amping a keyboard entirely from the stage in a heavy rock band–then this probably isn't for you. If you don't need the mixer, a powered speaker might be the thing. Otherwise, this is it.lightninrick

Sound: I'm going to use an example to try and explain the sound in a KB 3. Having a small recording studio, there has to be different amps, guitars, etc, in order to have the sound needed by different styles of music. One of my amps is a Marshall JVM410H with a Marshall 4X12 JCM900 1960 Lead cabinet. This half stack if purchased would cost you around $3.300.00 dollars. Even so, my keyboard goes way down in sound quality if I were to plug into the Marshall over the KB 3. On one hand you have a high price amp going against a small, much lowered priced Peavey amp. This is due to the speaker selection, and the ability that the KB 3 has in picking up the different levels of sound coming from the keyboard. My Fender Twin Reverb 65 reissue all tupe amp also is in the high price area, considered to be one of the best clean amps on the market, but it's no match for the Peavey when using keyboards. If your going to mic this amp, I suggest you use a Sennheiser e 609 SilverDynamic Microphone. This mic is flat faced, phantom powered, and works great for live or recording settings. I just bring the mic cable from behind the amp and let it hang down to where the KB 3 speaker is located. For those that may not know, a phantom powered mic requires a power source that has the phantom power ability to pick up sound. In order to tune in the sound I was looking for using the amp control settings. I played my keyboard around 10ft in front of the KB 3, and had my wife turn each setting while I listened. This is the best way to tune in what your looking for, without having to run back and forth to the keyboard and the amp. Features: Any amp that gives you the ability of some type of mixer/EQ , is more than most amps have to offer. My studio has 9 all tube amps, bass amp, and this Peavey KB 3. The Peavey was far less in money than any other amp I have, yet it gives you the ability to adjust the low, mid, high, and volume on each of the 3 channels. None of my other amps give me that ability, they go from $1,099.00 to $3.300.00 and are different brands. My hat is off to Peavey for making it possible to adjust settings on the KB 3, and it is easy to do. This amp is built like a tank, has the ability to plug in RCA jacks, FX loop for pedals, and the list goes on. The fact that you can plug your mic into the 1/4" or XLR jack, then plug your keyboard into another channel and adjust the settings for each channel. Then go to the main control and bring up the volume or some other setting for both the mic and keyboard says it all. This is much live having both a keyboard amp and a PA, which is all many will need. Ease of Use: Here again I will bring out what I said in my opening review. The control knobs are on the top which is great, but all of the inputs are on the back of the amp. If you have placed your amp where you can freely move all around it, the inputs on the back will be no problem. In my case, all of my amps set on stands (with the exception of my Marshall half stack), and are only a few inches from the walls in my studio. An amp stand leans slightly back, and I have a difficult time when I go to plug anything into the inputs. Quality: Again. This amp has been used by me for the last 5 plus years, and never has it given me a problem. The metal mesh speaker screen is easy to just dust off, and adds protection to the speaker. The tolex covering looks to be made from thick material, which will keep it from tearing from some little bump. The construction of the walls surounding the inner amp is made of strong material, and I can't see it falling apart for no reason. If this amp is not abused in ways such as; turning the volume past it's peak, not tossed in back of a vehicle like a ball, and kept clean. I'm not sure of the years one could use this without having any problems. If you did blow a speaker, I would replace it since the rest of the amp is so good. REMEMBER! If you come to the place where the drums are over riding you, don't try getting louder by maxing out your volume setting. Put a mic in front of the Peavey KB 3 amp, then run it through the PA. I'm more of a guitar player than a keyboard, but I was blessed at being able to play different instrments. If this amp is not high enough in power to over ride the drums, do something to enhance the power. If you want to increase the volume on the Peavey KB 3 run an OCD overdrive pedal through the amp. Value: This is the best price one could hope for in an outstanding keyboard amp. Manufacturer Support: NO The Wow Factor: As already stated. The ability of controling different channels, and the many inputs make this amp a fantastic purchase. This is not an amp I would use for my guitars, but is the best one for the money for keyboards. Overall: For a couple of years I played my Yamaha SO3 synth over a Fender solid state amp. Nothing seemed to be wrong in the sound I played, and I was pretty content. A nicely presented small light amplifier, the problem is that the sound is less than perfect and the volume is very low for a 10 watt amplifier. I have gigged in small venues with my Yamaha 4 watt amplifier, this amp would be lost in the background if anyone spoke. I am now using this on an electronic drum kit and it is adequate for home use if you don't mind the noise of your sticks occasionally drowning the sound from the amplifier.the_astrologer

I bought this amp to have a small, cheap portable amp to play harmonica through. For that, it is decent enough. I use a Shure bullet mic and the amp produces good enough tone and is plenty loud for practice or small gigs. When I plug my tele into it the clean channel is decent and clear, but the overdrive channel is junk and hurts my ears. I would rather run the clean channel and use a fuzz or distortion pedal. So that being said it is decent enough to practice licks on and it is tiny so it tucks away easy. If you look around you can find a bigger amp with more features used for the same price but if you want a new amp, this one is probably worth what they charge for it. I would only buy it if you have a specific purpose for it though.Roy

It's small, and pretty portable. However, the sound quality is trash, given the speaker is tiny, but the overdrive is just horrible. If you buy this, try returning it. If you can't return it, just get a fuzz pedal and leave it on clean. Imo, just buy the mustang lt25-50Hotdog Games

Unbelievable. This is NOT my Vox AC30, and nor is it my 100W Katana. However, for a package that is powered by batteries and can, quite literally, fit into the palm of your hand, the Katana Mini is simply fantastic. The amp models are brilliant and the delay (reverb) function is an excellent feature. On "clean" settings the volume of the amp is perfectly adequate and will fill a room with no issues, and on the "crunch" and "brown" settings, the amp was more than loud enough to fill a large room at 2/3 volume. Whilst I personally think that this is not quite enough for an advanced/intermediate players sole amplifier, I would completely agree that for a beginner, they would need no more than this. Having tried options from Yamaha and other brands, this is firmly my favourite battery powered micro amplifier for any level of guitarist and equipment, the tone is simply that good! The best way I can describe it is this – when I first plugged my PRS McCarty 594 into it, I was vaguely aware that I wasn't playing through my Vox. However, after five minutes or so, I had completely forgotten this wasn't a "real" amp, and had to keep looking down at the tiny box on the floor to believe it! Well done, Boss!Mr I. F.

I use it primarily as a practice amp at lower levels, but I'd feel confident doing coffee house gigs with it, and maybe smaller clubs too. It sounds warm and rich at low volumes, and the EQ is effective. All three voices are useful and I'm not left wanting. I have to make special mention of the delay. I adore reverb (including and especially spring reverb and gritty, trashy reverb of all kinds) but a simple delay circuit is way more useful in this amp. Doubling, slapback, echoes. The treble roll-off and fixed feedback are well-tuned. If you're using this for busking or other guerilla performance, you will suddenly realize that a single delay is worth more than a thousand reflections, because those reflections sound godawful* against naturally-occurring surfaces. *maybe awesome in a sound design way thoughChesterfleet

This is a remarkable little amplifier. The positive reviews are all justified. Very diminutive, even senior management, who tends to frown when black boxes arrive, approves. And it produces a variety of great tones in remarkable amounts bearing in mind its small size. Perhaps not for the O2, but great in our lounge and enough muscle for a small venue before it gets a bit chesty. Very happy.biga268

I use it for practice. Although it has a bass setting you can program via the phone kit, the speaker is not as good as a basic bass amp like a fender rumble. The default presets sound the best, and if you need a different sound, it's probably best to use pedals on the clean setting. The effects aren't as good as I hoped for. The chorus effect is nice; but delay, reverb, and spring could be loads better. It gets the job done and I wasn't needing the other effects to be there at all so a good purchase for me, but if you need all the features to be awesome, look elsewhere.Waukegan

As a working keyboardist, I’d been using a Behringer that was very powerful, very heavy and 4 channel. I wanted a second amp and really didn’t need the onboard effects, as I have a Jupiter X with its own effects, as well as Boss vocal effects. Oh and I love Roland. These are pricey, to say the least, as all of their amps are, and I wanted 2, however… the sound and build quality is super fantastic and I will most likely have the pair, as well as my Jupiter X, for the rest of my semi-pro side hustle days.Michael S.

I have the Roland KC-550 which is pretty awesome for our live gigs, but pretty miserable to tote back and forth to practices. I finally broke down and got the KC-200 for practices, home and small gigs, and I am very pleased at the tone and power of this amp! I use this Peavey amp as a PA for numerous instruments, keyboard amp; sound system speaker for ipod and phone and cds. It has very clear sound, excellent separation, and 12 inch speaker is large enough to give good bass as well as clean treble. It serves both live and recorded music very well. Bought for my fiancé to replace a slightly larger (10" speaker) older Peavy keyboard/mic amp that she had. Even my smallest bass practice amp is too big and she picked this one out. Good sound for the compact size and weight.Dan

I have owned one of the K900FX amps for several years now and have had no problems with it so far. People tend to buy these amps to use a portable PAs because of the XlR Connection. These are Keyboard amps and do not have the same preamp structure of an guitar amp.Unless you have some kind of preamp for the guitar, it will not be loud enough. Also,I have used this with my band and it seems to have a good amount of volume to it. I would think that this would be loud enough for most small to medium venues. A trick I use is to elevate the amp to close to ear level so you can hear yourself and use the output to run to your PA. This amp has 3 inputs one of which has the XLR connection. 5 band EQ and a Decent FX section. It has a sub out for connecting a bass amp to extend your bottom as well as other features that many other keyboard amps do not. overall, it's like I've heard from a lot of users of behringer products," If it doesn't blow up right out of the box, you may have a good one." I've have both experiences with Behringer. I believe their quality control is not as good as say fender, peavey or others. They want to replace a bad unit rather than repairing. But all in all, I've been very satisfied. Behringer dealers will replace their products for a period of one year. Being that is the case, You may want to add the extra warranty to the purchase price. These amps really do sound good and they are worth the risks one takes when purchasing. A REMINDER to those who trash this amp because it's not loud enough when a guitar is played through it, It wasn't meant for guitar, it was meant for Keyboards. You want guitar, go buy yourself an acoustic guitar amp. They have the XLR input and the preamp section is built for guitar.Denny H.

Musicians Friend described the amplifier well in its ad specifically for keyboards, better yet my electronic and acoustic accordion. Built in features help to vary features to give a perfect sound for the experienced musician, not just a factory built in sound. I'm comparing the UltratoneK450FX it to the similar 1800 model. I've used both for acoustic guitar and vocals. I was forced to use a lighter amp due to a bad back. The 450 is suprisingly loud. At least as loud as the 1800 although I don't get how this could be with the difference in wattage rating. I'm having to turn the 450 down at the same settings I hade with the 1800. The 1800 has a much airier and crisper sound to my ear. The 1800 has a much more musical high-end and present upper-mids despite what you do with the EQ on the 450. It just sounds cheap compared to the 1800 which I've done at least 300 shows with. The effects on either unit are very usable considering price. There are 4 imputs on the 1800 compared to 3 on the 450. The 1800 has 7 band EQ instead of 5. There are lots more options for connecting to other gear on the 1800. I hve not found the feedback control to be of use. On the positive side, as I said, it is 16 pounds lighter, has suprising volume and has a hole for pole mounting which a feature painfully lacking in the 1800.If you tend to have a thin, trebly kind of vocal this amp may help thicken things up. In general however,if your back and wallet can take it, spend a few more dollars for the UltratoneK1800FX. I absolutely love that unit. I've had 2 of them.gtunes

I use this amp with a number of keyboards. Surprisingly powerful for its size and weight. Not suitable where high power levels are required but this is the smallest of a range of combo amps built by Behringer. Most keyboards have stereo (2 channel) outputs so ideally 2 of these amps would be ideal. There are 3 line inputs. one input for XLR mic input and two phono inputs for additional inputs. In addition there are slave and line outputs making the unit very flexible.alplays1or2tunes

Bought this for almost 6yrs already, basically as. A keyboard amp. This thing experienced snow, slight rain almost all kind of weather here in alberta as i have to walk and carry this thing to our practice venue. And never had a major issue with this thing, and really pleased with it. So i decided to give this thing a good review wich is overdue already. as BEHRINGER definitely deserves it. That's one of the best thing about behringer great quality and very affordable. Just compare the price when you shop around plus the features and other people's review. K450fx has 3 channels with dedicated send fx for each + 5band eq, + 100effects + cd in. Etc. great package! I even use it for my electric acoustic guitar. And sounds really good. I was thinking of buying a fishman but it seems that k450fx will do the job. The only con i can think is that it seems to be not powerful enough to handle 3chan els when volumes are cranked up Overall it is highy recommendedYanyan

Just picked one of these and it's been a joy to play. Pretty easy to use with quite a few options. Was able to dial in some tones that sound like my $800-1k tube amps. Honestly this amp is the best bang for your buck amp available imo. I really love the Waza Craft Greenback speaker. I love the .5, 50,100 watt options. Haven't even explored the software yet but I'm confident enough in this amp to give it a 5 star already. This of course is keeping in mind the fact it's essentially a budget amp price. Sound: Right out of the box? I didn’t even adjust EQs. Set volume and gain, and started playing. Took 0 effort to get 98% of the way to my live tone that is an Orange Rockerverb 100W MK2 and Marshall 212 with V30s. Features: I love the Tone Studio. I did have to pull a star from Ease Of Use because it may be confusing if you’re not good with computers. Ease of Use: If you can’t get a good sound out of this amp, return it, sell your guitars, and find a new hobby. That’s how easy getting a good sound out of this is. Quality: Seems pretty decent. I wouldn’t call it robust, but it doesn’t FEEL as cheap as the price would suggest. Value: 100% worth the price. I’d have paid $100 more for it if I’d have known how good it would sound. Manufacturer Support: I’ve dealt with Roland/Boss in the past, and they’ve always been wonderful. The Wow Factor: Looks good, sounds good, price is good. A perfect practice amp, that could stand in for a small venue in a pinch. Naturally my live rig is a bit much for my apartment, but this is just what the doctor ordered. Overall: Solid state amps have come a long way. A REALLY long way. I’ll be honest, being a tube snob, I had very low expectations. The Ac-10not only looks the business but it has since real depth and warmth to its tone. Clean – it’s bright and has the chime you’d expect. Turn up the gain and your tone breaks up but still retains clarity. Having the gain wide open and master volume down means you can still have the saturated crunch but not disturb others . Perfect for home use but would not be out of place in a small pub gig. Takes pedals will and with a multi-fix like a GT 100, if you disable the amp sim and use like a conventional pedal board, you don’t lose any quality of the AC10’s natural tone. A masterful amp and it even smells nice with those tubes cooking.Mark R.

Ive been playing 35 years and this is probably the best all around practice amp ive ever heard. Pros- looks great, sounds very good, cleans thump and chime, distortion can wail. Its loud for its size. Seems built well. Have had no bad issues. Cons- clean isnt near as loud as w the gain cranked up. No reverb. In short if this amp was 50-100W and had reverb and an external speaker jack id never play another amp. Good job VOX.jjsrvfan

I have never offered a product review for any product but I had to make an exception for this one. I am 69 years old, have been playing music for over 50 years, and I have just begun learning the harmonica. This amp is perfect for me for a number of reasons. First of all, it's portable. I can take it anywhere – from my living room – to that picnic table at the park – to my guitar player's front porch. I've had it for a while and I'm still on the batteries that came with it. (You can get an optional power supply for it if you want.) Second – it sounds great and has plenty of volume for personal practice and for use in small settings. With the GAIN and VOLUME controls, you can easily get the response you want. The EQ control only makes a subtle difference in frequency response but nothing dramatic. The DELAY function, however, is very effective and fun to use. Next – a variety of additional input and output jacks make it very flexible. I can plug in my MP3 player and play along with a backing track, for example. It also has a headphone jack, an extension speaker jack, and a DC power jack. Finally – and most importantly – It's fun to use and, because of that, I find myself practicing longer and enjoying it more. I'm new at holding a mic and at first it felt awkward. Now, because the FLY 3W is so much fun to use, holding the mic has become second nature. OK – now you're waiting for the downside. Well, other than the EQ control comments I made earlier, I don't have any. At first, I thought it could benefit from a handle but, upon closer inspection, I discovered the recessed finger grip on the top of the case. (Very clever Blackstar.) This is a well designed portable practice amp. (It even looks aesthetically pleasing.)Bill

First things first; this combo pack DOES include the power supply but batteries are NOT included in the combo pack. Despite the great reviews, don't expect this to sound like a full-size amp; the small speaker mean this amp lacks low end. The pair does sound OK playing in stereo music through the aux input; good detail and sound quality except for the missing bass. As a practice amp, especially through headphones, this thing rocks; with the ISF control you can make it sound like a Fender or a Marshall Amp. Cleans are good but the high gain channel can sound a bit messy if you crank it to 11. The amplifier is more than loud enough for home practice even without doubling the power to 6 watts by adding the second speaker. I don't own a full-size electric amp but I've found out that running the cab-simulated headphone output into my acoustic amp's aux input gives an excellent equivalent so I probably won't bother with a 'real' electric guitar amp; this setup sounds sooo good.Dave W

I was very pleasantly surprised and the range of EQ and the control of compression the Fly 3Bass gives me, not only a great practice amp but mic it up through a PA and it sounds amazing. Great running on batteries (last about 12 hours) or mains. I did a back garden set with couple of friends on acoustic guitars me on electric bass via Fly 3 and it sounded really good so i am very pleased with my purchase. Only thing i had to do was back off tone and bass enhancer on my active bass as it slightly overpowered the amp but i get that on my stage rig as well so expected that.Barry J.

Going back and forth between the LT25 and LT40s to compare identifical presets, both sounded good and similar even with the differences in cabinet and speaker size. A subjective impression is that the LT25 sounded a bit more distant or maybe dispersed. The LT40s sounded a bit more focused. It was a tough call as the LT25 is less expensive but I walked out of there with the LT40S. For desktop placement and low volume practice, the LT40s sounds great and with plenty of low end. I don't need loud volume but this amp can fill a 16'x24' loft with sound. The USB connection to my laptop was initially a no go. After deleting and then reinstalling the application, it has sinced worked great!Wally

I wanted an amp for practicing that gave me a massive range of options for a reasonable amount of money. I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.

Ive been playing 35 years and this is probably the best all around practice amp ive ever heard. Pros- looks great, sounds very good, cleans thump and chime, distortion can wail. Its loud for its size. Seems built well. Have had no bad issues. Cons- clean isnt near as loud as w the gain cranked up. No reverb. In short if this amp was 50-100W and had reverb and an external speaker jack id never play another amp. Good job VOX.jjsrvfan

This amp is truly one of the classics! I have been using a JC-120 since the 80's! It is a very musical amp and good for any type of music. That is a statement of why is has been around for a very long time. I have read some of the other reviews about how noisy this amp can be. This is true but get a noise gate or use the othe rchannel that is without the chorus. For people who love heavy metal two words Boss Wazsa Ds-1 X and OD-1X will get you that Marshal Sound. For Blues players Sd-1X , OD-1X or Boss driver 2. This amp is designed to be used with effects and that is what makes it so versatile.Hank

Words are pretty meek in describing this amp. The best clean sound anywhere. Huge tonal presence bass is gigantic but not boomy just powerful and clear and that's with all tone controls at 12 noon. There's so much room to tweak. And then the chorus channel un-real sound of acoustic chorus. It's a trademark sound instantly recognized. No pedal can give you this chorus sound. It's a tank super build quality has not changed since the 80's and at 75 lbs you can't just grab and go but comes with casters thank goodness. I have used it with overdrive guitar a few times and it sounded unlike any other amp. It's not at all your British scooped sound. But the clean sound is why I bought this. The Roland JC 120 has one of the best clean tones I have ever heard from an amp. It sounds amazing with the built in chorus effect engaged along with reverb. One thing to know about this amp is that it is designed to be used at higher volumes. That makes it ideal for live gigs. The amp has a slight hissing sound that can be heard when it is used at bedroom-appropriate volume. However, the hissing sound is not as noticeable in louder environments like live shows.
