I play guitar and have a pedal board two pedals are best used in an effects loop. The way the board is set up, I have to use right angled connectors at the board end. Monoprice used to sell only right angle to right angle cables and so some years ago I bought a couple of these, as my amp will take right angled connectors (though a straight connector is better). I was happy with these because they felt heavy and so seemed high quality. However, and this was my fault, the other night I used a studio amp because mine’s in for repair, and this other amp was totally unsuited for a right angled connector. Bottom line, I damaged one of the cables at the amp end squeezing the connector in. So, happy day when I found that Monoprice now sells these blue braided cables, which are exactly what I needed (right length too). I have used them only once, and they worked really well. They don’t have the heft of the old ones, which have a plastic sleeve, but that may not reflect quality. The gold plating suggests quality too. PROS: Work well very good price and apparent high quality CONS: Seem rather light in weight
Excellent value and quality. These instrument cables rival competitor's cables that are three times the price! In fact, these cables seem to be better made the the Whirlwind cables I currently have from 20 years ago. Better connectors, cabling, and heat shrinking. You just can't seem to be beat Monoprice stuff! One cable I have the assembler got a little sloppy and slightly melted the cable covering just past where the heatshrink was placed. Other than this slight blemish, the sound quality is great. Others are commenting about the right-angle connector only being held by the heatshrink, but this is industry practice. The cables are replacing Whirlwinds that I have that are 20 years old. Whirlwind right-angle connectors are built the same way. It took 20 years for those cables to wear to the point of me replacing them, so I bet these will last as long. PROS: High quality build, great value, great audio quality. CONS: Too soon to tell! I'm a pro musician who relies on high quality gear, including good cables. I often make my own cables for specific applications. When I found these cables on Monoprice, I reckoned I could not even buy the parts for a twenty foot cable at this price, so I ordered four. They took about a week to arrive. Packaging was excellent. I did an immediate audio test and the tested cable actually sounded marginally clearer than the ten-foot cable I A/B'd it with.. Build quality felt great, with only one complaint: the heat-shrink tubing surrounding the jack and cable was not completely shrunken on a couple of the cables. For me this was a small matter I fired up my heat gun and shunk the offending sleeves in a few minutes. For some, this could be a deal-breaker, but for me, it kept the meter well within the "max bang per buck" zone. Now I'll see how well they stand up over time. With the company's name emblazoned on the heat-shrink tubing, I'll know whether Monoprice will win my repeat business. PROS: Max bang per buck! Nice cable. Good overall outer-jacket diameter. The cable is US-made with assembly south of the border. At least here's one item that isn't made overseas. Could this be classified as a LEED product? I think you'd use less gas shipping the assembled product from Mexico than China. LEED wasn't the reason for my purchase of this cable, but maybe every little bit helps. I bought it because of the competitive pricing; no cable noise; the cable diameter and AWG wire gauge isn't small like some overseas junk I've ended up throwing out; the company selling them is in Missouri; and it so far is a great cable. And all seriousness aside, it's fun to take the end of a guitar cord and while it's plugged into your amp and with your amp on/volume on, touch the open end of the plug on your tongue while you scream into the microphone. Well, it seemed like fun when I used to do it. It works best w/a boost on as it exaggerates the buzzing noise while you are screaming. And, it gets some odd looks from the crowd. I got the G1-3 to connect a Tube MP to a SS amp, to replace a longer cable that was the source of 60cy hum from overhead flourescent light fixtures, it worked! It could be that the shorter length was the important factor but I think there may also be something to the spiral copper tubing shielding. Time will tell how the cable will stand up in rough handling. For my money, my cables will will have stainless steel accessible connectors for repair/replacement as opposed to molded connectors.time traveler

These are decent cables with a lifetime warranty. The plug ends have a tendency to unscrew, so you have to make sure that they are tight. I have been using this brand now for quite a few years, and have had no failures. They come in a variety of usefull lengths, in any color (just so long as it is black). I'm sure that there are better quality cables out there, but these are the best in their price range. My only complaint is that they are shipped with super-snug tie-wraps keeping the coiled up cable together. I ended up damaging one of the new cables just trying to get the tie-wrap off.Jimmy J

I bought this cable around 6 months ago along with my Boss Katana amp. I was new to cables at the time because I learned most of my playing on an acoustic (which don't mean I'm a beginner which most people tend to believe about acoustic players) and I dindn't know which one to buy, so I asked an experienced player what he used and he recommended me to the livewire cables. At first I was kind of worried that they weren't good because of the cheaper price compared to what I had seen but bought one anyways. First I plugged in the cable set up my gear and played a couple licks and was very impressed. I used it for a week or two and tried a different cable. I plugged in the new cable and was very astounded to hear how awful it sounded. I tried another one (Monster Cable) and it sounded way better but still not as good as the livewire. I was very disapointed and went back to my livewire and then I truly knew how good the cable actually was. I've used that cable ever since and I now buy them and have recommended them to my friends, family, and other players and wouldn't trade them for another.Logan
Make sure to either own one or two high quality cables, or have a backup as well as a backup for your backup and so on. I purchased one of the 25ft. angled-straight cables about 5 years ago and have had to have it replaced every 6 months to 1 year. I don't abuse my cables in fact I go out of my way to make sure they are treated as well as my guitar. Simply put they are assembled poorly. One end always seems to go bad. I do return them and have them replaced because why not take advantage of the warranty. However I have wised up and purchase quality cables now. I would never take one of these to a gig. I gave it 2 stars. 1 for the fact that it does make a connection and relay sound to my amp and the 2nd star because the warranty results in a "no questions asked" replacement. Bought this cable with starter guitar and amp for 9 year old son. This cable lasted 3 months. Was thinking i could fix it, I have fixed many cables before. After inspecting this one, it's not worth mending. Poor quality, very flimsy. Going in the trash. Was noticing a slight static noise on my sons rig, thought maybe it was the cheap amp or the power supply. Got a different cable and noise is gone. The cable quality is very good as expected. However the description of the switch operation is wrong. It has a Momentary ON/OFF switch (As stated on the packaging) not a Click ON/Click Off switch as described on Guitar Center's website which reads: "When the button is pushed, the cable shorts while remaining plugged into your guitar, making on-stage guitar changes a snap, and eliminating any chance of sound bursts. Once the cable is shorted, remove the cable from the guitar being used and plug the cable into the next instrument. Press the button again to reactivate the cable signal." The correct description from D'Addario's web Site reads: "D'Addario Circuit Breaker cables feature an integrated mute switch that prevents loud pops or squeals when unplugging your instrument. I've owned only one Circuit Breaker cable so far and it has been great for preventing those nasty pops in our sound system. Instant mute switch without having to turn down the volume and getting it right back to where I want it on the first try. However, the cable has a foil-like shield inside wrapped around the conductors, and the jacket is initially quite stiff. So the cable is exceptionally hard to manage, it constantly twists and tangles, and retains a memory like you wouldn't believe. Even after it's "broken in" it still is very resistant to winding the opposite direction. The older series (I presume) is very slick and hard to grip. When you have a Strat or other recessed angle jack (like my Ibanez) it is quite difficult to take out of the plug. Its fat ends make it even more difficult to pull out. Also, those blue o-rings aren't going to stay put so you may as well take them right off. I believe they've redesigned it into a more utilitarian style with knurled rings and straight profile. That looks far better, and I hope to acquire one or two of them soon. I think most people end up needing a straight and an angled plug (EVERYBODY'S got a Strat, right?) so it would be great if they'd offer a female jack for the Cable Station series to make adapters. Regardless of what it looks like, how slippery they are, or how stiff the cable is, they're still worth it. And mine has held up great so far, despite numerous drops on the stage. This is a well put together cable, I bought the straight thru one end, right angle on the other. It does not introduce any extraneous noises or hums at all, and fits the connectors on the instrument and amp nicely. With reasonable care, this should last. It lays flat, doesn't have much in the way of "memory" when unrolled from coiled up in storage, and is well behaved when you want to coil it back up.Loren

Good quality cable but super stiff. I have never been a fan of braided cables but I know EB cables are good quality so I thought I would try it. It just isn't flexible and gets hooked on stuff unlike a non braided type cable. I liked the bright color…maybe with use it will loosen up a bit.Dale

This is one of the best (if not the best) leads I've ever used. Made in USA. No cheap junk. I googled the company and the process involved in making those leads… Wow! So I decided to give it a go and yeah… I purchased multiple times and different sizes already. Materials are AAA, sturdy connections and very firm on the jack ends. solid cable, really good for this price point. 30 foot cable for 17 bux? yep. bought this to replace my expensive "m:" brand 21 foot cable that failed yet again, despite them claiming lifetime warranty, they didn't honor it so i decided to look elsewhere. i looked all over at many vendors before settling on this one. since i needed it mainly for open mics i host, it seemed solid, and upon arrival didn't dissappoint. the neutrik appears to be a questionable "liscenced by" product made in china, the other end seems to be the typical yet robust end ya see on many cables these days. it seems to be holding up well so far, done several gigs with it and it doesn't seem to color my tone much, which is nice cuz its cool to walk into the audience while actually wired. i'd probably revisit this product in the future when need arrises. if ya need a decent cable for cheap, this appears to be one of the best deals i could find.pinkjimiphoton
