Reviews:
I love this. It’s great for beginners who are not familiar with guitars and have little experience with musical instruments. It tunes fairly well, and can help children get used to the chords, but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who is more serious in playing. It’s pretty good quality for the price though. I’d definitely recommend it.Lisa726
Bought this guitar for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. You get what you pay for. The entire thing is made of plastic minus the strings. The strings were so extremely over wound around the tuning pegs that it took forever to get it to stay in tune, even if I pulled on them to try and get them to settle around the pegs. Once they did settle it did stay in tune. The action on it is super high, especially closest to the 18th fret, so when you're trying to play anything that high up the feet board it creates a huge difference between the angle of the strings if you're playing something with an open and fretted string in it, such as That Song by Big Wreck. The fact that the frets are made of plastic doesn't bother me, it's not like my daughter will develope enough finger strength to do beds and vibrato before she grows out of it to wear them down. It's a beginner guitar. If she delevops enough interest I may eventually get her a mini electric, but for now it will suffice. Maybe pulling out the bridge nut and filing it down a bit will help with action. Now that it stays in tune I am pleased with my purchase.Runninghome

Reviews:
After reading so many glowing reviews, I was very excited to buy my own Ibanez AEB10E. The violin finish is beautiful and the fit was outstanding, for the most part. My only complaint was the frets and how sharp they were/are…Since string height is subjective, I will only say that I liked the way mine was setup-high enough that there were no fret buzzes. I like the organic tone and wish it were louder acoustically but when amped through my Fender Rumble 25 or 200, the sound still maintains the acoustic qualities I wanted it for. I'm still in the 45 day window to decide but right now, it's a keeper!Hoss
Overall: About 30 years ago, I placed an order for a custom bass. It looked absolutely beautiful but it didn't play well at all. So I sent it back for two adjustments that I knew they wouldn't be able to correct and I ended up getting my money back. I say all this to point out I vowed to never take a chance ordering instruments via mail. So I'm cautious because I've wanted an acoustic bass for quite some time and when I saw the Ibanez AEB10E and it low price, I decided to break my VOW and order that damn bass…lol. So now I'm hopeful because their were a lot of people who wrote great reviews, which nudged me to make the purchase. Now that I've had it for more than two weeks, I'm pleasantly surprised because this plays extremely well, I have a little fret buzz but I can tell that it's not going to take much effort to adjust the truss rod!!!!Joseph
I bought this bass a little over a year ago when I found a great deal on it online. I have an electric bass, but wanted something to sit on the couch with and play along with something I could potentially use to record some cool bass licks to use for some of the music I produce. I have to say, given that I didn't play the bass beforehand and just ordered it online, I got extremely lucky and landed on the exact bass I was looking for. The first thing I noticed is how easy it is to play. I feel like even though I'm not a very experience bass player it's not too much of a challenge to play the licks I'm trying to play. Just the way it is setup by default makes it easy for me and my big hands to hit the notes I want without accidentally striking or muting a string next to what I'm going for. The second thing I noticed is how great it sounds. I'm sure it would depend on the venue and type of ensemble, but I feel like this bass produces enough volume to be viable for playing unplugged next to a nice guitar that also has a good bit of volume. The tone is pretty well balanced too, I think the spruce top gives it a little more upper harmonics than you might expect, which is nice since it seems to have a little more presence as a result. I'm sure you probably don't need to hear this but the whole bass screams quality. It's gorgeous, and yes, the wood is lighter than it looks in the pic, but that's not a bad thing. There's no real imperfections anywhere in mine, every part of it looks and feels great. There are much better acoustic basses out there of course, but if you're just looking for one that plays well, looks great and is great quality, you can't go wrong with this one.Dr. Technology Man 504

I've only played one gig with it and I could hear the subtle piano sounding strings coming through the P.A. I think I still have some bridge adjustment to do even though it arrived basically set up. The tones I'm still getting used to since they are passive pick-ups. Still trying to strike a balance between the bass, amp, and pod but it is fun to work with this mix.Sheik Yerbuti

Reviews:
I already have a Lakland Skyline 44-60 (formerly known as the Joe Osborn Signature model). After over 11 years, the "honeymoon " is still very much on with it! That said, I have wanted a 5-string, ideally another Lakland for some time. Until now, except for horsing around with any given brand of 5-string in music stores, just to see what they were like, I was very much a "newbie." Yes; there is very much a learning curve with a 5-string; getting used to that fifth (low B) string; and the slightly wider neck. While I consider myself a slightly above average non-professional; I've seen far better bassists slap a 5-string. THAT is another project, if your slap chops are anywhere below those of a Larry Graham, or a Louis "Thunderthumbs" Johnson (for examples). But, it can be done. Now, the overall feel of this bass is wonderful. I'm playing it a bit more often than the 4-string, which I will not abandon altogether (especially since it has flatwounds). Unless you can't do without active electronics, this is THE bass for you. If you want something that combines the best elements of a Fender, and "something else," this is why Lakland has been referred to as "the BETTER Fender."Bassguy
Lets get the gripes out of the way first. This bass is listed as "Shoreline Gold", but it's actually "Aztec Gold". The pic on the website makes it look lighter and more "amber/yellowish" than it is in real life. The Aztec Gold is a deeper, darker gold-color. Not a big deal to me because it's still a beautiful color. But according to the folks at Lakland, it's "Aztec Gold". I've owned a LOT of basses over the years. I have to say that of all the new basses I've ever purchased, this one had the absolute worst set-up I've seen on a new bass. After tuning it up to pitch, the strings were still almost laying on the frets in spots. Unplayable at that point. Nothing but rattle and fret noise. The truss rod needed a fair amount of relief, but the allen wrench provided didn't seem to fit properly. A friend had a 4 mm allen wrench that DID fit, so we adjusted the truss rod. I raised the action high enough to eliminate the rattle. Once I actually got it set up, it sounded quite good. Especially the A, D, and G strings. The E sounded a bit weak compared to the other three. I'm a flat-wound guy, so I slapped a set of GHS Precision Flats on it, and that seemed to even out the E string; and they sound great on it. So now for the positives. Once it was set up decently, this is a very nice-sounding bass. And it's quite a looker, as well. It comes with a Mint pickguard, which looks nice. But IMO, this Gold/rosewood combination just screams for a brown tort pickguard. None of the major pickguard makers seem to have a template for this because of the J-Sonic pickups. So I shipped the original Mint guard off to have a brown tort one made. Not sure yet when I'll get it, but I'm looking forward to it. The rosewood board is sweet, and not real light-looking like some. While changing strings, I went ahead and conditioned the rosewood with some Howards Feed & Wax, and now it looks even better. A deep, rich-looking brown. The J-Sonics sound good. A Keeper…Jeff
This bass is AWESOME. Tons of possible tone variations are achievable with the onboard active-EQ and pickup toggle. Low end comes through so well on this and that 35" scale makes sure my low B has enough tension on it to allow the low notes to actually come through without any "wobbling" on the tone.natful_6863

Reviews:
I purchased as a gift for my 7yr old son. Right out the box a string was loose. The description says 3 parts not sure what that is. I only have the guitar and the paper cards taped inside the box. My box appeared to have been opened before it was packed in the target box. I read the reviews before my purchase. This is a comparable starter guitar before you invest in the real deal. Just not sure if the packaging is the vendor error or Targets.Coffe gal
The strings are very flimsy. One of them was completely unraveled from the top under the cap. Maybe if I knew more about guitars it could have been fixed. It would’ve been a good toy guitar, but we ended up returning this one and spending a little more money on one that might last longer.Lindsey
They should really have 0 stars..I bought this for my 8 yr old and it is horrible. He was looking forward to playing it and so excited , only to be disappointed. We took it out of the box and already the strings were loose. Then u cannot tune it because the strings don't tighten up,the knobs on there is just for show. We are so disappointed will definitely be returning this…DON'T BUY!!!smh2020

Reviews:
I purchased my left-handed Glarry Jazz bass back in July of 2020 as a way of keeping occupied during the lockdown, after nearly 2 years I'm still as blown away as the day it first arrived. This bass is a *beast*! It sounds incredible, very little adjustments were needed right out of the box, I lowered the action on one string a little & that's it. The thing that really impresses me in an ongoing way is this bass *insists* on remaining completely in tune almost indefinitely, I have a digital, highly-accurate tuner & this instrument rarely strays from being in tune even after lengthy practice. I find myself wondering how Glarry can possibly make money here. I've also, based on my experience with the bass, purchased a left handed strat copy in a matching finish, & also a Glarry kid's drumset, and am completely happy with my purchases. Thank you Glarry, you guys rock!
After hearing a lot of positives about Glarry basses I decided to take the plunge and order one. Unfortunately, I cannot report that I find it to be an amazing value as some have reported. The main problem is the neck. Out of the box the action was set quite high and the usual setup adjustments reveal that the frets are in serious need of a level and dressing. Besides the unpleasant fret fart outs, I notice a fair amount of odd resonances that seems to be originating from the neck on various notes. I can't tell if a good fret leveling would eliminate them or if it is something related to the truss rod internally. The truss rod does work, but turns WAY more easily than any other bass I've ever owned. (Probably 2 dozen over 40 plus years.) The body is good, finish is nice, and the electronics and hardware are serviceable. For the hundred-ish I spent, I'll keep it as a mod bass and replace the neck. Be forewarned: the original neck is a VERY chunky P-Bass width and nowhere near the normal streamlined Jazz Bass neck found on most Jazz basses and Jazz bass copies. Not sure this would be a good starter bass without taking it in for a good setup and fret leveling. In my neck of the woods that would cost about $150.00. Perhaps a better alternative would be to see what you can get in the $200- $300 range that comes ready to play out of the box. As always, YMMV.
I liked the affordable price and the look of the blue sunburst jazz bass. My plan was to completely modify it which I did. I sanded and stained the neck a darker color, applied several coats of polyurethane and a final coat of paste wax. The electronics were upgraded to alpha pots, braided wires and alnico5 pickups, a new wilkinson brass saddle bridge, black machine tuners, bone nut, black jazz bass volume/tone knobs, flat wound strings and a tortoise shell pickguard. While this instrument is completely fine for a beginner, I am more of a seasoned player and was up to the challenge of a fun project. Could I suggest maybe selling only bare body and neck without parts at a lower price which people could build their own instrument to their personal taste? Also, the internet is a wonderful place for information if someone knows where to look, but a beginner might not understand how or even if they need to adjust their truss rod or bridge saddles. Perhaps an included instruction booklet might also be useful as these instruments are catering towards beginners. I also modified a Glarry white P bass in a similar way but less extensive as the jazz. I had a lot of fun with these projects.

Reviews:
5 string bass in burley wood. Fit and finish first class. Unbelievably light. Fantastic value for money. Mine played very badly out of the box, with the neck seemingly overdone on the truss rod. Relaxed that a turn, set intonation and saddles and it's pretty good now imo. Think it would benefit from having some frets filed a bit. But all in all it's excellent for the money. I could spend 3-4 times as much for the next up cheap 5 string, but I doubt it would play better and I bet it would be significantly heavier.
My second Glarry bass. the first purchase was a 4 string fretless – flawless instrument. Obviously I was happy with it – I bought another instrument. This 5 string arrived today. I spent a brief time setting up the action, as you would need to do with any new instrument. It was not at all necessary to have a shop do it, as they send the tools you need included with the instrument and it is great for a player to be able to do this themselves- it will make you a more knowledgable player and take additional pride in ownership. But the real reason for leaving this review is to convey just how great the quality is. My wife's initial reaction: "that is beautiful – a work of art!", and she is so correct. Having owned many basses and played for 35+ years, this is as good as any bass I have had. You will see many other reviews state the same thing. The action, the finish, the sound – there is nothing to complain about, even if you took the affordable price out of consideration. Buy one of these now before they figure out they could charge 2-3x as much and I would still recommend buying even at those prices. I am installing a thumb rest on it and using this the next weekend for a songwriter showcase. Can't wait to see what compliments I get on it. Glarry, you guys do a great job and my hat is off to you.
There's nothing really spectacular about this bass, except for possibly the bang for your buck. What you get is a fairly well made solid instrument that does the job without any unnecessary frills! Mine arrived well packaged and in good condition. There are a couple of minor finish blends, but they aren't noticeable if you're more than a foot away. The set up was nearly spot-on, only a few minor adjustments were required. The neck and fretwork were well done. Frets are smooth with no sharp ends. The fretboard is dry, but that is somewhat expected, and not a big deal. I did send the back of the neck with 1000 grit paper so it is now silky smooth and plays great. The pickups sound very good, though the volume puts taper rather abruptly. Overall, this is a good sounding, very playable bass! I am a happy Glarry customer once again!

I found this a nice guitar to re-introduce myself to playing The all wire string set is a little rough on tender fingers, but after a while they get used to it and you're playing! I would definitely say it is the right size to learn how to play before stepping up to a larger or more expensive instrument.greatestmem

Lars

Très belle basse avec bonne acoustique. Assez facile à jouer, peux mériter quelques réglagesBobo
Quality product as you would expect. However needs tweaking in setting up. Arrived with action too low, even with truss rod fully cranked open. Fret buzz when played acoustically – which is the idea, isn't it, that it works unplugged? So I resorted to fitting a taller bridge nut that I happened to have in my guitar toolbox. Cured, and happy with it. But the moral is – you have to make it your own, and that might require some fiddling about. Also in my case I installed a homemade thumb rest, which assists my style and also aesthetically is an improvement on the unadorned plain body IMO. As a design piece, for me the advantage of the roundback is you can both see better what you're doing, with the bass tilted towards you, and feel the notes vibrating against your ribs as well as listening. So, an enjoyably organic experience, unplugged for accompanying something low volume. In the end does the job.ffretnot

Reviews:
Very pleased with bass, great sound and much lighter than a V7 (3.9kgs vs 4.7kgs). It's a great Jazz bass. Roasted neck has a lovely feel to it and makes a positive difference to the sound. Pre-amp is so quiet and so versatile (but bass sounds great in passive mode too). It is a beautiful instrument and the finish is perfect ! I highly recommend this bass ! Well done SIRE and thank you Marcus for your input !Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Everything about this bass is awesome, the vintage look, playability and sound quality. I’m not disappointed.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

RESPONSE AND PLAYABILTY WERE THE MAIN FACTORS IN MY CHOOSING THE LARRIVEE. WHEN I WENT GUITAR SHOPPING I HAD JUST INHERIRED A LARGE SUM AND PRICE WAS NO OBJECT. I TRIED THE MARTIN D-288 AND THE 220.00 DOLLAR RAINSONG AD THE CHOICE WAS CLEAR. THE LARIVEE WAS THE SUPERIOR INSTRUMENT. DID I FORGET TO MENTION THE EXTRAORIDINARY SOUND QUALITY. IT HAS CONCERT HALL VOLUME WITH SMOOTH RINGING TONE. IN SHORT, THERE ARE MORE EXPENSIVE INSTRUMENTS IN THE MARKET BUT YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A BETTER GUITAR! JTV NEWPORT NEWS VAcab021954
