Fender Electric Guitar Strings For Sale (2024 Update)

I really like these strings. They are warm, and give what I believe to be the best tone on my Stratocaster's and Telecaster. I don't really remember when I first started using Pure Nickel strings (of any brand), but I DO know I have never used anything but Pure Nickel since. The strings got a 4 star rating. I purposely omitted 1 star because, I feel they don't last as long as say a Nickel wound D'Addario would…but then again, I have not found a Pure Nickel D'Addario set of strings. So I forfeit the longevity for the tone. I DID just today order some Fender 150M (medium gauge 11's)…which are also Pure Nickel. I would never order 10 sets of strings if I didn't like them. Once I get to play the 11's, I will give a review on that product page. As far as Fender Pure Nickel strings go…you can't go wrong on the tonal quality. Rock on!!!White Dog

For years I've played flatwound strings, but when I bought my new Fender American Professional Jaguar I was taken by how lively and expressive the strings were! I left them on. There was a learning curve, with me having to learn a lighter touch, but the more I played them the more I liked them, I went on the Fender website, clicked on the "Chat with us" button, and asked what set came on the Jaguar. BUY THESE ! I hadn't used Fender strings for 30 years . A friend of mine bought out a music store so to liquidate he sold me all the strings and drum sticks in stock .. there were mostly Fender strings so I started using them . 20 packs of 9's lasted me well over a year . I work at least 3 night a week as a lead guitarists / vocalist . so I use my main Strat a lot . after I ran out of Fender's I used GHS and noticed I was breaking strings .. so I tried the Ernie Ball's .. breaking strings again ! I went to a local music store and bought a pack of Fender's . as an experiment I wasted to see how long before one would break . SIX WEEKS ! .. THEY LASTED 6 WEEKS ! .. That's 18 gigs , 3 hours pr night for a month and a half every Thursday Friday and Saturday . and they still sounded good ! FENDER RULES !horsesass123

Definitely the best strings at the price point lately. They have a thinner or smoother wind than Ernie Ball slinkys or Daddarrio exl and this results in less finger noise and a zingier tone IMO. I'm into clean and classic rock, and I doubt you would like these over the former two names if you were into more modern and metal sounds. It depends on the guitar for me, on my strat I could use just about any strings. My guitars with humbuckers seem more picky, at least to my ears. I prefer these over the other two as far as cheap strings go, and these are often cheaper. Win win. Used to be I would never have preferred Fender strings so either my tastes are changing or these strings have changed over the years.Joelish

Overall: Don't pay any attention to the low price these are great strings. Have used Fender 7250's on all kinds of bass guitars they always sound great and feel good. Years of use have proved quality. I put them on my Jazz bass, my PJ, and my Squire, have used them on Samick, Music man, OLP, and Epiphone basses, all good.Scott

According to a Fender rep, these are what came on the Fender PJ bass I ordered from Musician's Friend. They produce the classic Fender tone I wanted. I eventually replaced them with a set of Fender 7250L (.040, .060, .080, .100) to make it easier to play on the guitar's 9.5" fingerboard radius. I stayed with Fender because of the tone that the 7250M strings produce. The Light's have slightly less oomph on the low end, yet all the tone while the lighter gauge makes for nice melodic work on the high end of things. I tried these strings on copy of an ES-335 style guitar. The pickups are not as alive as I would like. The strings appeared to add energy to the pickup and resonate well. I enjoyed the new sounds and power when playing. I was able to bend the strings to my heart's content and pretend that I was a blues master. Do not be afraid to give these strings a go.Ed

The best sounding and feeling strings I have ever used. Most of my guitars have vintage powered pickups and these strings are extremely clear sounding. They sound great on my Strats and Teles. They sound fantastic on my '61 RI SG and LTD PB 500 (Duncan Alnico II pickups). They still have the "slinky" feel of regular Ernie Ball strings. They seem to last a little longer too. If you are a bedroom player, you will like them. If you are a gigging player you will love them. I have always used EB strings, these are now the only strings I use.ShaneC

These are great strings. The feel like Slinkys to me, but are a little more slippery. Sustain is fantastic. I wore out a set of DR DDT (11 bottom) so, I put them on my Ibanez GRG121. This guitar has dinky weak humbuckers, but a pinch holds way longer with the strings…to the point that it feels more like upgrading the pickups. Maybe it's placebo, but I could swear they have a tighter swing too. I went thinner than the DDTs (obviously) putting these on and some of the first moment fret butt I got above fret 15 went away. Maybe it's just bc their thinner, but watching them I think they swing less. Try these strings… *Note: They leave a nasty bitter on your fingers.Steve

I got the first set of these as a gift and put them on one of my guitars. When I played the guitar it seemed a lot easier to play, silky smooth, and sounded very good. I would not think that strings could make that big of a difference but they do. I feel just like Yngwie ripping up the fret board. I just bought 10 more sets so I don't have to wait for them anymore, the strings are popular and last time I ordered they took 4-6 weeks. These strings are awesome. I am a die hard EVH user. I own 27 guitars and have EVH strings on all of them. But I am now migrating towards these strings. Some of my top model guitars are strung with Yngwie strings. I buy them whenever I can. They feel great and sound even better. If Yngwie actually uses this product, I can see why. Recently did a partial restoration of a 60's era Harmony Moneterey Archtop that belongs to my father. It had been stored in basements most of it's life, back pulled off and what not. Glued the back on, cleaned every part of the guitar and strung her up with these strings. Without the neck reset, I was able to get the action comfortable for playing. The strings seem to stay in tune about as well as excpeted for this guitar. I am able to bend strings, sure not as far as I could a lighter set, but to something enjoyable. The strings have a nice tone to them, and seem to have decent volume with finger style playing (which is what I do 98% of the time). Haven't tried a pick on them, although I'm sure they are even louder than my thumb nail, if using a pick. If one needs a set of decent economically priced strings, these will work. I'm not happy with the excessive squeaks and what not, because it just ruins recordings. It's annoying when practicing too. I'll be replacing with D'Adario or perhaps a cheap flatwound (some could be the guitar and further work needing done). However, I must say that these strings fit the budget, and were priced right for slapping on a guitar that I wasn't even sure I could get the action set for. The tone is very enjoyable, not to figure out how to stop the squeaks giving these strings squeak just doing an alternating pattern with one finger (melody, or bass). These are strings, what features are really necessary? These strings seem to be of good quality. They tune up, and reasonably hold tune on the guitar I installed them on. This guitar needs a neck reset, but I was able to get the action comfortable. They bend fairly easily. The only thing I am not impressed with, is the noisyness of the strings. Lots of squeaks and what not. I generally purchase the D'darrio version, which are priced a little higher. I decided to give Fender a try. Perhaps, with Fender, I should've went with Flatwound. Disappointed in the excessive sqeaks of these strings. Will be replacing with either Flatwounds, or D'Adario version. Near impossible to get a good sound on recordings with the sqeaks, and that's just changing one finger from one string to another (alternating pattern on chording). These strings are a good string for the money. I purchased them because they were cheaper than my normal brand. The purchased was to set the action on a Harmony Archtop I've been working on, and see how badly the neck needed rest. As of right now, with these strings, the neck is setting fine and not pulling any further than without strings. Worked for purpose I purchased them for, but will have to be replaced for a better set that aren't so noisy.bluesmanwithastrat

Don't get me wrong, they can get plenty bright if you want that. Just that they didn't seem as extra bright as some kinds try to be because they can with all the "super nano ultra special coated infused …but still hand crafted somehow" type stuff. Was never happy with previous sets on my 5 string. With these, I was able to set up with slightly lower action. This alone is worth it on my instrument. Finally, it's the bass it should've always been. Waited way too long to find these. I hope they keep making them. Probably going to order a few extra sets and try to keep a few on hand. As others point out, I'm not sure there's another set with these gauges for 5 strings. To me these are just right in a lot of ways.Person

Been using the 8250-5M set for awhile. Wanted to try a lighter gauge. I get more guitar tones out of these. I was concerned I might overpower them since I'd used medium gauge for a couple of years. These are literally perfect on my Modern Player Jazz Bass V and 2 1993 Jazz Plus Vs. I bought the Modern Player new from Musiciansfriend. I think this light set is the set that it had on it. I use a pick, single and double thumb as well as two finger picking techniques. The E and B strings give a nice low end. The A, D and G strings have a growl and bright tone and respond well to picking or plucking. I'll be using these strings for some timegeorgesguitars

I've tried many string brands out there and have come back to Ernie Ball in the last couple of years. They sound and feel great, stay in tune (assuming you have a guitar that stays in tune), and are durable (no strings last forever). You can simply depend on them.Frank

I have used Ernie Ball Slinkys since I started playing guitar (time that can be measured in decades, that's all I say). I have been through other top brands, and just don't like them. I have gotten to know EB strings to the point where I can nearly predict when they'll break. That's good in my book. The lively tone and intonation stays for a LONG time. And they're good enough to scrape clean and, in the word of Billy Idol, Start Again. Well, that beats boiling them (RIP EVH). What's even better is all these new, attractive hybrid sets, allowing you to easily find your groove without having to get two packs for your ideal set! EB just keeps getting better.Guy lll

I use on all my guitars. After 30 years I changed from EBXXL's only because after 80 hours of playing, they became dull, inconsistent and broke easily. I had shied away from fender, after their bullet designed string, in 1982. But after trying 08's I found brightness a dream!The Professor/Composer

Because of one especially physically bothersome joint in my left hand I have been exploring various brands of 8 gauge sets of strings and I have found these to be the best. They are not insufferably wimpy like the other brands in this gauge. They offer a bit more resistance that let's me play with a decent sense of authority while giving me the advantages of super light strings: easy bending and overall less tension. And they sound better than the other brands in the super light category. I am getting a good, clean Tele sound for country and I am not crippling my fingers. I highly recommend these strings for all guitarists who need tor want to play with a light setup.S Mack

When I first recieved care of this guitar, it had no strings at all. One local guitar shop said tie-on nylon strings are all that will work. I couldn't keep 'em tied. So, tried these as an experiment. So far, so good!Shannon

I used D'Addario strings for years and while the tone was good, I tried the Fender Original Bullets Vintage Nickel Bullet End Electric Guitar Strings in the same gauges as the originally specified Fender strings in both my Fender American Professional H-S-S Rosewood fretboard Strat and my Fender American Elite S-S-S Ebony fretboard Strat and they came to life. They are bright, have excellent sustain and bend like no other strings I've tried. Most of all, they last, so long as you wipe them down after each use. I use no other strings now.Ed C

These strings are perfect for 90's rock!! The strings break in quickly giving you hours of playing enjoyment within the first few minutes!! These strings have the classic Fender twang and high sound. I bought my first set of these because of the novelty. I bought many more because these are the only strings I want to use now. If I can't find them I replicate the gauges with single strings- but don't do this, buy the Fender strings. I mean, $5? Buy a case. Keep these available! These strings produce a balanced tone. Which is an incredible sound. Complicated chord voicings ring through with clarity (overdrive). I was immediately reminded of Ty Tabor's beautiful 'wall of tone' sound, filling a wide spectrum with rich, tight timbres. Users of short scale guitars– tired of the low E string flapping around like a rubber band and rattling all over the place? Try these strings. The low E is much thinner than most sets but doesn't lose any beef (IMHO).I'm not old, I'm Vintage.

These strings are awesome, not because of Jimi or the Voodoo thing but because for many years Fender stopped making this gauge. They were called 150 silver bullets back then and were my string of choice that became unavailable. Old sets were usually lightly corroded and unusable. Fender fixed that by finally corrosion proofing the packaging. Originally I bought these to use on my Fender Telecaster but these are now on my Les Paul, Stratocaster and my Epi. the price point made me try them, the feel and sound will keep me using them.warloc_frazmtn

Sounded a little chimey on an Epiphone Les Paul Special-1, with 650/700's. Quite a bit mellower on an Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top Pro, with ProBuckers.. Many online have suggested for Nickel allergy. I don't play enough to say for sure, but I think it sure helps for that.A.J., ND

(Guitar there were placed on is a Tom Murphy Painted and Aged Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard w/ Brazilian Fretboard) Back in the day, Ernie Ball strings weren't packaged well; they weren't even sealed. If you haven't tried them since their packaging was reinvented, they're definitely worth a look now. Tried D'Addario pure nickel strings, found the wound three to be too low output. I swear the core wire looked like it belonged in acoustic strings. Maybe I got a factory defect, who knows. Gibson strings sound great initially but the 'G' starts to sound dead after a week and the wound strings sound dead and filthy in three weeks. These on the other hand sound marvelous. They sound great out of the package, stay balanced, and sound good for longer than I thought possible.MidnightRiderInTX

I have recently come back to playing the guitar, Sax is my primary instrument but I have had my Gibson RD Standard since 1978. I have since increased my heard of guitars to 10 electric guitars and 3 bass guitars. I have come to favor the Ernie Ball lights and super lights on almost all my guitars. I play the 9's on all of my Stratocaster copies and the super lights on the 3/4 size guitars. I love the feel as far as tone, intonation, flexibility ease of bends and how the strings hold up as a whole. I would definitely recommend to a friend or buy this produce again.Antonio

I have been using the Power Slinkys (11s) for a few years now. I had switched from another brand because the Slinkys made my Strat sound more Straty. After watching a few videos on YouTube about string gauge, I thought I would buy the Regular Slinkys (10s) and see what difference that would make. When I got online to buy I saw that Guitar Center had a sale on 12 packs and since there is a pandemic, I thought it prudent to hoard strings. My logic was that while I may run out of TP, I would never run out of strings for my guitars. Long story short, you cannot go wrong with the tone of 10s. I do like them better than the 11s. They are much clearer in the low end and you get more definition. I have to do less EQing when recording and they just seem to pop better in a mix. The only downside is that they are taking me time to get used to, I play very heavy handed and these are much easier to bend. But I can already see that I have less hand fatigue.Richard

These strings actually do what they are advertised to do. These 10-48's have the tension and characteristics of approx 11-52's. If your guitar is set up for standard or E flat with normal 10's, then you can expect to be able to tune down to D standard or even C# without making many adjustments. My 24 3/4 scale guitar is tuned to C# standard with these strings now and feel very nice, not all floppy and dull. I have read some other reviews that seem to exaggerate a little saying C standard and even drop A works with these, don't believe that, maybe with the heavier gauges in this line that could be done. The tone is good also, not muffled and dull like some strings get when tuning a full step down or more. Very cool. I have used the 10-46 Zakk W from this brand on a Custom 24 tuned to D standard and the bridge floated perfectly, I did not have to adjust the tremolo at all. So if you want to tune down a step or so without filing your nut, these are for you.Riffrawker

well, i recently switched out the strings on my les paul to the new dulop heavy core "heavy" strings (10, 13, 17, 28, 38, 48) – and i couldn't be happier. i have tried all kinds of different string configurations and i think i've finally found my perfect match. i've had everything on my LP from cleartone, d'addario, elixer, ghs, and i even had the zakk wylde icon customs from dunlop. the zw dunlop strings were the closest i could compare these too in terms of feel and quality, but i would up taking them off because i wasn't using my guitar in dropped tunings enough and i didn't need such heavy strings on the E, A, D. in terms of tone, these are amazing, imo. the d'addario's were way too bright – even on the low strings. but these dunlops give you a nice thick, warm tone, and maintain the right amount of brightness without being too twangy. the feel of the strings is fantastic as well. i really like the nickel over any of the other strings, especially ones that have a coating that breaks down. after i restrang the guitar and it barely took any stretching to get the strings 100% set – no going sharp or flat. they're right on point no matter how much i bend or move them. i did have to make a slight adjustment to the intination because of the small increase in gauge on the E, A, D strings, but it was very minor, and again, well worth it. also, there was no need to adjust the truss rod because the increase in gauge wasn't enough to bow the neck, like when i tried the zw icons. if you're looking for something new to try that will give you great performance and durability i highly recommend these.ZERO

Normally I play D'addario 10's but I decided to give these strings a try during my most recent guitar set up at Sam Ash. These give the perfect amount of slack on the higher strings allowing for a bright, punchy tone and huge bends. This is balanced out by the heavier bottom 3 strings which add the extra tension making them great for drop D or other alternate tunings and an excellent twang for finger or hybrid picking.Ezra

Been using Ernie Ball 8-38's, 9-42's, 10-46's for a very long time and I have found that each has their strengths. [10-46} : 46-36-26 strings are great for driving thick rhythm. {9-42} : 11-16 strings are great for solid melody and rhythm. {8-38 : 8-11 strings are great for bending pedal steel licks to radical blues-rock bends. The best the three worlds = 8-11-16-26-36-46. From an economical stand point, the Hybrid Slinky with an .008 is a pretty affordable and fun experience. I've spent a lot of money on strings over the years and during my developmental and experimental phases I've come to enjoy this combination. The 10-46 forced me to be a better rhythm player with blue-jazz origins. The 9-42 turned me on to rock. The 8-38 taught me to create wicked country bends with speed. I feel now after 30 yrs or so of playing I've decided to take what I like from each set and make it my own. I'll call it, "Three Of A Kind"Drug Store Cowboy
