I upgraded my pickups in MIM strat and wanted to go black from the existing white. I lost a humbucker for a single coil in the process and needed a new pickguard. My strat was the midnight wine color (dark) and the black looks absolutely awesome on it compared to the white. Everything fit perfect. No mis aligned screws etc as often occurs when changing out parts on some MIM strats. The strat is year model 2006. The only complaint and it is notable band the reason the rating is a bit lower: I understand black loves scratches but come on, the instant I wiped the pick guard with a very soft cloth, massive scratches. It is brand new and very scratched. Even micro fiber cloth marks it. I know it will get scratched but I wanted the shine at least until playing it caused scratches. I would prefer to pay a little more and Fender make the plastic more scratch resistant. That can be done very easily in the polymers/chemistry chosen. Other than the scratching gripe, typical good quality OEM Fender, looks sharp, fits good. Change your color and personalize your strat easily. I am glad I did.
I love the aged look of the pickup covers and knobs. I have ordered many over the years. The tremolo cover does not match at all and usually has a mint green color. That part of the kit is a waste. I have piles of them which I cannot use. The best look for your Strat is a W/B/W pickguard with matching tremolo cover and these pickup covers and knobs. I will continue to buy the kit. 4. Toneshaper Guitar Wiring Kit For Fender Stratocaster Sss1 (Blender Wiring)

Teles allow players to select the neck and bridge pickups together, but stratocasters dont. many players over the years have added switches to stratocasters to allow this combination, and the switch is usually a push/pull pot or a mini-toggle. heres a better idea. but since this control is a variable resistor, rather than merely switch a pickup on or off, it allows the player to blend a pickup into or out of the mix, like a volume control would do. in the full-clockwise position the blender control does absolutely nothing, and in fact makes itself disappear from the circuit so as not to load the circuit (think true bypass). in this position, the 5-way switch functions like a normal strat, with one volume and one tone control. turning the control counter-clockwise in positions 1 and 2 blends in the neck pickup, while turning it in positions 4 and 5 blends in the bridge pickup. the player can get lots of subtle tonal coloration with this control. short-bushing pots, for mounting on a pickguard.

Epiphone said this kit was a joke. They said they never use the products in this case. the 2 sets of strings are to light. The string and frett cleaner are very difficult to use and an Epiphone EXPERT told me that the directions on the canister was totally wrong. GIBSON/EPIPHONE expert said that there was not a value in the case' The strap has 2 large metal rings that bang against my new guitar. The EPIPHONE STRAP that is made specifically for my guitar is almost impossible to get on the guitar. I complained to SAM ASH and I have yet to hear back. GIBSON MASTER SET UP TECH SAID he did not agree with this product.cowboycoolwmw

I ordered the Mason Live for a friend of mine WHo is just learning to play, I had been watching the Youtube videos on Orangewood, and looking at the site for a while. Just so you know, I was a professional Bass player/ song writer in LA for a While, before falling on bad times, and most of my gear stolen. I had A very nice Guild acoustic before, (Pre Fender) and an assortment of Basses and Guitars, I also built, and repaired them. So I can speak from experience. I am restarting My life and will be getting this same guitar for myself, when I can. But let me tell you that when It Came And I played it for the first time, I was Shocked at how amazing it played and sounded, this Guitar would have cost $1000.00 or more anywhere else. I used to work at guitar center and know. Right out of the Box this Guitar played fantastic, no set up or anything. You can't say that about Guitar Center. This is my first Bigsby attachment and was installed by a guitar tech at my local Guitar Center. This device makes it easy to add character and emotion to the chords you already know. Just realize that this model requires you or a professional to drill holes. Also, you will want to have a proper bridge setup so that it will sound good (Guitar techs assisted with that.) It is normal for a product like this to alter your resting string tuning after bending the strings with the Bigsby bar but shouldn't have significant effect on your performance unless you're really diving down on the bar excessively.Christopher Force
Five stars for this one! Sure, I put "expensive" and "difficult to install" down as 'Cons'…but just being honest. Listen…if you have a steady hand, common sense, patience, and perseverance (not to mention proper tools)…you can watch an instructional video on YouTube, and install this thing yourself. If not; like others have said, let a pro do it (at a cost). I installed mine myself and enjoyed the project—not to mention end result. I started with a Squire Standard Telecaster (purchased right here on MF), and liked the guitar, but wanted to modify the heck out of it. Always loved the look of a Bigsby, so I bought one and put it on. I was AMAZED at how much difference it made in sound. It literally turned a solid body guitar into a Thinline or Semi-Hollow. This is the first set of (guitar) tools I've owned; always just used whatever I had around in the garage. This set comes in a great zippered case. 12. Toneshaper Guitar Wiring Kit For Fender Stratocaster Sss2 Modern

This wiring is called modern because fender began using it in the 1980s as opposed to the 1950s. the original strat had a master volume control a tone control for the neck pickup and a tone control for the middle pickup. there was no tone control for the bridge pickup since it was assumed that a player would preset his two rhythm settings (neck and middle pickups) but the lead setting (bridge pickup) didnt need to be adjustable but would be wide open for maximum treble. remember that during those early years fender never supported a 5-way switch. in later years fender made some changes to the wiring to meet player demands. these included attaching the bridge pickup to the bottom tone control a no-brainer for many players who felt that if any pickup should allow for some treble roll-off it was the bridge pickup. the capacitor value on the tone control was changed to .022f which means that the tone controls provided less extreme tonal shifts than when a heavier cap was used (the earliest strats came with a .1f cap which produced a very substantial tonal shift as the tone controls were adjusted; this value was changed to .047f in the early 1960s).

I liked the fun of doing the installation myself. Liked the ability to place the controls where I decided on the guitar. I liked that the components were small and easy to fit into the space available inside the guitar. KIt came with an installation instruction that guided me through the installation just fine. No operators manual was provided. I downloaded from Roland the GK-3 (non-kit version) operators manual which should be applicable except for physical appearance. Regular GK-3 comes with a 1 mm gage to help set gap between each pickup and its corresponding string. The Kit did not provide this gage – a minor point. Pickups adjust to match a range of curvatures on the guitar bridge. A 14" radius was the largest. I had a couple of questions as I worked through the installation, and Roland Support provided answers on the phone. So far, so good. Everything seems to work ok. I have played this through a Roland GR-33 synth board for a total of about 1 hour (just finished the installation). What fun! For my project (installed into a Steinberger Synapse Transcale baritone guitar) this was the best value for my money. My Steinberger has a one-piece aluminum bridge, string height is not adjustable except as a group. For different guitars, with different bridge arrangements, you might find other brands of kits might work better for you. The readily available support from Roland was a bonus I had not expected – a big plus.
The external GK pickup looks like a Borg implant, it doesn't exactly complement the appearance of most guitars. This kit puts all of the electronics inside your axe, with just 3 switches on your pick guard. Professional installation is highly recommended. It's an excellent product, but I gave it 4 stars because it should come in white as well as black.
I bought this kit a little while back after trying unsuccessfully to mount an old external GK2 internally (don't ask). The kit was very easy to install, very little space needed internally and the set up was a breeze. I feel it is a little pricey but as kits go it is well put together and well documents. I've had it install for a year or so now. It works flawlessly. If you are tired of the external GK mounted on you guitar this is the way to go!JDX

After being skeptical about the players kit since release I though I'd give it a try. since it's not cheap I have waited and saved up to try it out The item came in good time and I was eager to get it onto my guitars. I read all instructions twice and thought I get started on tiny sketches on a newer guitar Used the product and nothing, absolutely no changes the guitar got a clean but the tiny scratches were still there and visible Then I used it on larger scratches and absolutely nothing, on black surfaces.. Still nothing Waited few days and gave it another try and still absolutely no scratches were being removed I used car wax at fraction of the price which did a better job. So in conclusion I would not recommend players kit to anybody it's definitely a no Brainer Better off buying car wax for better results I'll give it a 0 out of 10mikyb676
I choose this product to take some scratches and scuffs out of my gloss black congas. The two major scuffs were deep enough to easily feel them by running my thumbnail across them. Black is a difficult color to polish out, but a couple of rounds of #2 followed by #1 to get the glassy shine back did the job. I wish I'd taken before and after pictures, because this stuff restored my drums to like-new condition. Yeah, it takes some strength (rubbing gently will not do it with a polyurethane finish… you gotta dig in), but it was worth the time I put into it (about half an hour actually) to see those conga shells shine like mirrors. I bought a used guitar on a well known Guitar website , it was supposed to be in excellent condition but arrived with a bunch of scratches and swirls on the top part of the body . I immediately bought this stuff even though its pricey at $30. I read the instructions and applied this stuff a few times(probably 4 or 5 times) , it reduced / diminished the look of the scratches but there are still many . If anything all the scratches are still there just slightly less visible. Note theres lots of glare on the guitar being that's its glossy and the scratches are only visible under the light . I'm glad it was able to reduce the appearance but disappointed it could not remove them.. they're basically all still there. Here's a before and after. I imagine this would work better and darker guitars . A bit disappointed especially being that's ita expensive for the quantity you receive.guitarstuff1
