This is identical to the bridge on the Geddy Lee signature J Bass, only it has FENDER engraved on it and not Geddy's signature. I installed this on a Squier J, dropped right on, set the action and intonation and was good to go. Even playing without being plugged in you can notice a difference in sustain and overall vibration transmitted through the body. Bang for buck it's probably the best way to make any Fender Bass sound better. Love it!lord_verminaard

Firstly this steam cleaner is multifunctional so can be converted into a handheld device which you can use the different attachments with. I refreshed the carpets and can see quite a difference and when using it on hard floors it leaves a streak free shine. It's easy to maintain as you just need to wash the steam mop pads but an issue i faced was that when you wash the pad, it doesn't seem to be thoroughly cleaned. I would have also liked it if more than just one steam mop pad came with the product. It is powerful in terms of quickly heating up and steaming but I feel that it could be better but for 22.99 you can't fault it. Due to it being refurbished it did come in the original box but the box was quite damaged. The product itself had minor signs of wear just a few marks. One thing to be careful of is when removing the floor head is to do it slowly and cautiously as it may lead to damage or injury. I have several of these… the bottom-plate is thicker than the traditional Fender bent plate bridge… is a good replacement for Squier VM series. (note that screw holes are different- need to dowel & re-drill.johnstauros

I bought this not knowing it was only 3 hole bridge, as most fender bridges are 5 hole. For the Fender Deluxe bass this is a better bridge that most Fender bridges. BTW the holes do not line up for a non Fender Deluxe bass.musicljs2002

Excellent choice to replace the proverbial 'bent plate' bridge. The holes don't line up with the standard 5 hole bridge, but it's an easy fix and easy install. All you need is a good eye and a drill bit. Spot-on intonation, streamline compared to Bada$$ or Gotoh. Very happy with this bridge.lhc515

I adjusted everything 6 times and could not remove the buzz on my American Fender P Bass. In way less than 30 minutes I was in business and have so much room to adjust the ups and downs of daily play. It took less than 20 bucks to make a 1200 dollar bass act and play like it should. I cant praise the Tusq people enough. The product is well made. Perfect but easy to prepare and install with minimum tools and fuss. All of my Basses and stringed instrument will be changed over to TUSQ INSTRUMENTS no matter who made them! I cant rate them as high as they deserve. I swapped some Bass Bars in place of the stock EMG 40 sized soapbars in my LTD-B5E, and it made a world of difference to the touch, dynamic response, and overall fullness of the instrument. I researched the best low cost replacements for months and settled on Alumitones. They certainly aren't low cost in tone and materials, since they use only a large magnet without a half-pound of copper windings. They are very attractive, and the finish was 7/10. Not sure about the chrome version, but would say they could be de-burred a tiny bit better but is only a microscopic flaw. The overall impression they gave me was a very natural, but present sound, that is balanced like a great hi-fi system. Every frequency range is presented well, and were actually quite a bit more bright in comparison to the pickups they replaced, but are just as full in the low end (seriously). When playing fingerstyle, they are smooth and fat, yet edgy on the top since so much more is represented. When slapped, they are ballsy as hell. They have a bit of everything you want to hear from your playing through an amp and DI. Another good upgrade to make if tone is an issue, would be to also replace pots, wiring, and preamp. I can tell the sound will compliment, or potentially reveal weak areas in the circuitry. The Alumitones mated well without any issues to the passive pup/active preamp circuit in my bass. I bought two of these. One of them doesn't work. These pickups have 4 holes to mount, but they only come with two screws (yes, both pickups only came with two screws). The wiring of these pickups is unique, but they don't come with a wiring diagram. An Email to Lace MIGHT get you a response… but don't count on anything quick.Septemfluous

I have a Spectorcore 5 string bass which is a semi hollow bass with a active Piezo bridge pickup, which is awesome, and a passive EMG bar pickup. I was never happy with the EMG, not enough highs, it wasn't as load as the Piezo and not enough growl for me. Maybe if it is used active or on a solid body it would be better, anyway when I came across this pickup and read what it does, especially acting like an active pickup I thought I'd give it a try. I put it in and it blew me away. It is louder, brighter and it growls. I love this pickup it's like I just got a whole new bass, thanks Lace.HerbalT

I put together my own Stratocaster, the build took about a year and a half as genuine fender quality parts can get pricey. The neck plate made my strat look legit and high quality. As a professional musician I'm a stickler on quality parts for my instruments and I can tell tell you with 100% confidence that buying genuine fender parts for your build is worth every penny they just look, feel and sound good.Pablo

Be aware these are about 19 grams in weight and are made of some kind of aluminium alloy. The old strat plates were made of some other heavier non magnetic metal. My strats old plate weighed in at 59 grams; both are roughly about 2.2 mm thickness. The fender f plate and vintage plate are both chrome plated steel, (well magnetic material anyway). The vintage plate is about 32 grams and very thin at about 1.2 mm. The f plate is about 1.5 mm, and a little heavier the vintage, (on guitar so could not weigh). The corona plate seems strong and it has a good chrome finish. I marked it down one star due to the radical weight difference over previous plates, but I'm sure it is strong enough to last. Fender also confirmed that these plates are correct and used on newer strats.goldfinger1976

top quality built. totally silent pickups. perfect. my fender p-bass has an american heavy ash body and maple neck. it produce a punchy highs. i was looking for pickup set that will suppress and cut some of the too-trebley sound. i installed Dimarzio P122. these are excellent pickups, but are not the flavor i wanted. too much highs and too modern in eq and sound color to my taste. since all reviews always point to the Fender Custom Shop pickups as the best upgrade for Precision, i've decided to choose the '63 pickups over the '62. they have a different eq curve. my bet was successful. the p-bass's sounds is now deeper, sweeter, pleasant growl and has a real vintage warmth that i wished to achieve.doron.mckeithen

I love these pickups! They are a great design that date more than 60 years and sound delightful. Unfortunately, with my most recent purchase of these pickups from Guitar Center one of the coils to the pair of pickups was dead. I suspect during the manufacturing process the dead coil itself was tested for continuity at the factory, but, I suspect, in process of wiring my pair of Precision pickups together the integrity of one of the coils was compromised and broken. This can happen and pickup coils lead should always be retested after the solider leads have been attached. I made the same mistake as the factory and did not check the integrity of the pickups prior to installation. Therefore I voided any return I could have made on this item. I had to buy another set which is now working great.David

I bought a Fender Ash body FSR Precision Bass (the sister to the Ash Bodied Standard Jazz Bass everyone is crazy about.) a few years ago at the Manchaester Ct. GC. the Pup's where not to be desired. so I changed them out with the Original They put these in the American Vintage series and there high end Pricision's so these pup's have to be good. and they are. I get compliments on my Bass I also put in a professionaly made Push Back Wired harness with CTS 250k Pots and spraug Orange drop. She littealy is a '62 now. and im in love with the tonal spectrum of this incredible Bass simply by changing to the Fender Original. looking to pure Precision tone cant go wrong with this set.viperBSG

This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. CONS: Nut not slotted – I don't understand why the NUT isn't slotted at least for common string size. It is very slightly to get you started but you would need a file. I just used the low E strong and used it like a file but it didn't come out too well and I've had to buy a new nut that comes preslotted. No predrilled String tree hold – This really wasn't too much of a problem but it's scary if you get it wrong. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase after two weeks of everyday playing with it. This was a much needed upgrade from my Squier telecaster neck I had.C. Barona

this is my 4th roasted neck and I can't recommend them enough. especially if you live on or near the water. I can pull out my strat or tele after not playing them for a few days and they are right in tune look at the quality that is put into them and you'd agree. when screwed to a sunburst or pastel colored body they just really enhance the look of your instrument. the cost of the roasted neck is something you gotta think about like do you really want to spend that kinda Ching on a neck? hell you can buy a standard neck for less or even buy an after market neck and play the same its all about the stability of the wood that closed the deal for me. dig down deep in yer pocket and pony up the Ching for one of these I'm pretty sure you be pleased you did. I have them mounted to Mexican fenders and American fenders all have mated up perfect and very little fret work was needed this is my experience with these necks and you will find the same. in short I dig mine and will in the future will only use these beautiesho-joe56

perfect fitment into a MIM fender body. finish was flawless and the dark maple is beautiful. mistake made on my part, not fender….. the roasted maple has so much less give than standard maple. I should have thought about that with all of the moisture being removed from the wood. I used fender press fit tuner bushings and installed them with a C-clamp as I always have. I heard the headstock crack as I was installing the D string bushing and my heart sank. Luckily, I was able to inject some wood glue and clamp it overnight to close it up, but I reamed out the G tuner bushing and learned my lesson. use care when installing the tuner bushings on anything roasted as the fibers in the wood simply will not compress the same way another neck would.Grey

I was excited to get the geezer split pbass pickup. After some manipulation it's great. I had to reverse the pots to allow the ground to reach the bridge. I'm concerned why a 4 inch ground was supplied while ample cable was supplied to the rest of the process. Maybe I bought one that was made after lunch. It does sound great. But to EMg qc Make the ground cable longer. My USA pbass from 94 did not have a compatible channel to the bridge. Had to Go hd to buy spec bit to make it happen. Rock onConor Daily

Overall: I bought these like 6 or 8 months ago for a Squier Affinity PJ Bass. The J pickup wasn't a throw in like the P pickup. I had to expand a little bit the pickup opening to make it fit. The installation was a hassle. I originally bought these for the "convenience" of solder less installation but could't get it to work.Had extra low volume and lots of ground and hiss. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no success. I gave up. Last week, I decided to try again. I ignored the instructions and started experimenting by inverting some of the connections. After a few trials and errors, I inverted one of the tone connections and problem solved! Now they're sounding good, punchy and with no hiss or ground noise whatsoever.In conclusion, installation can be way harder that one would think of solder less connections, but the end result is very satisfactory to the ears.Cesar

I got these to replace a faulty fender pickup that packed up in a almost new instrument. Turned out that it was so overwound that the copper was rubbing on the inside edges of the pickup cover.This plus all sorts of debris & dust under the pickguard resulted in cutting through the winding. Anyway I couldnt be bothered going through the hassle returning the instrument & thought Id try these toneriders ,they are easy to fit & of a much higher quality construction over the vintage fender ones. They sound much better also, they are full bodied & punchy with slight break up distortion only at the very top end of the volume knob which sounds good, i think thats why they describe them as hot vintage. I was initially concerned to replace the stock ones but these are great fun & much better so it worked out nicely in the end. Oh the tonerider has vintage wire & the fender ones did not even though they were supposed to be vintage models. These I honestly recommend.johnthecarpfather

Pre-bent to a slightly tighter radius. This eased installation a great deal. Not cut to uniform lengths, but they were all long enough to get the job done. The cuts were a little sloppy, but they must be filed and finished at the ends either way. Needed very little levelling and dressing. Overall great quality fretwire with uniform radius bends.20 Fingers McGee

The fret wires come in over sized lengths with plenty to work with. I was concerned that the grooves from the removed large jumbo frets would be too loose but they have more than enough tangs that fill and grips the rosewood which can be a bit 'chippy'. I had to adjust the radius of each one which was a bit of a pain that would have been much easier if they left them straight. They filed, leveled and crowned well and are just a bit taller than expected it good quality.001Berek

They are a high quality precision fret wire! After 3 of the Fender frets were installed, I contnually checked fret rocking and was suprised at the results, only 3 frets needed minor leveling after installation was completed. Now my import guitar plays like a High End instrument.timmci85

Any instrument, such as a Fender Precision Bass, can get an immediate facelift with a simple replacement pickguard. This Fender part is a direct replacement for the standard antique white pick guard that came on my P-bass. There are different ideas about what combinations look best, and I think Sunburst and Tortoise Shell is a common match, but NOT with a maple neck. In the end, I was very happy with the way it looked — I think it's got a lot more character then the antique white.Joe G

I put these in an American professional jazz to be able to blend without noise. I chose them because I wanted it to remain a completely Fender bass. They aren't absolutely horrible sounding, but I have decided the only way these companies should make noiseless "single coils" is by using side by side split coils. Not stacked dual coils. Splitting the coils gives good output, attitude, and a low mid bump- you know the kind that makes people love P basses. Everybody is figuring this out except Fender- the greatest guitar maker in the world. Aguilar, Dimarzio, Nordstrand, Seymour Duncan (recently), mojotone (guitar pickups), Fralin. They've all figured out the noiseless thing. I ended up with Nordstrand NJ4SE in one and Dimarzio model J in the other. Love both of my jazz basses now. I love you Fender, but get in the game with your pickups!Andrew

I don't know if this is the LATEST version of the noiseless jazz bass pickups…it is so hard to keep up with Fender as they roll out newer versions, however, this is a great replacement to older jazz bass pickups. It really as close to noise free as you can get as you solo each pickup individually. As most jazz bass players know, the single coil aspect of the jazz bass pickup is GOING to get some hum or noise unless you are playing both the neck and bridge pickups at the same time to cancel out noise. This retains the signature Fender Jazz Bass sound with great clarity with the advantage of being noise free. Highly recommended!!road-cat1

These are a special wind from Tim Shaw, the ultimate pickup guy at Fender. They are capable of perfect vintage deep bass while throwing out strong mids and super crisp, bright highs. Not super hot so you still have to work if you want overdrive distortion, which is a good thing. These have become my favorites for all my Fender builds–basses, teles, and strats.bobvarns

I've played jazz basses for years, recently picking up a late 90s CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz. This bass is based on a 1972 Jazz. The bridge pickup was not working, so I set out to find a good set of pickups. I tried Seymore Duncan Quarter Pounders, a Mexican Standard, and a Fender Custom Shop 60s model not produced any more. By far I liked the Fender Pure Vintage 74s the best. These have a vintage sound, not too hot, with a fuller low end than the 60's custom shop, or my stock pickups in my 2011 am standard jazz (a killer jazz sound). The midrange was very punchy, not too thin, but not fat or thick enough to get lost in the mix. The top end had a bite that lends itself well to a dirt pedal to get some texture. I'm not a huge fan of the bridge pickup soloed on a 70's model jazz, it's too nasal sounding to my ears. I much prefer the 60s spacing. The '74s seem to address that to a certain extent, smoothing out some of the thin nasal bite the 70s bridge pickup is known for. Blended, the sound is full and very punchy. The set growls nicely, in an upper mid sort of way (I see this more due to the 70's bridge pickup spacing) and slapping sounds great if that's your thing. Being mostly a finger player, a fresh set of stainless steel Rounds will get a nice tone that snarls when pushed. I haven't tried flat wound strings, but I'm sure they would sound good. I've never played a 74 jazz, but the pickup set seems to be made for this bass. I think Fender nailed the sound they were looking for here. Construction was typical Fender, nothing fancy and the poles and fiber bobbins were shellac covered. I'm not a huge fan of push back cloth insulated wires, but I had no issues soldering these. So far I haven't had any issues with hum or grounding problems. These are packaged with minimal information, but a schematic was provided for soldering instructions. My one complaint was the lack of information on which pickup was bridge or neck. One was marked with a red dot ( I assumed this was the bridge pickup) but not a single written word regarding the difference. This is annoying at the least, and could be a deal breaker for some if the pickups were are placed incorrectly. Come on Fender, even a note or written mark on the pickup would have been nice. Follow through and do your homework. All complaints aside, these are well worth a try in any jazz, and definitely a home run in a 70's model jazz bass. Add to the fact you can pick these up new for under 100 bucks if you look around, these are worth a try.jamesbaghr

I needed pickups to replace some dead coils on a 1966 Jazz Bass while the originals were out getting rewound, so I bought these '64 Pure Vintage to get me by. They are giving the original coils a run for the money. They possess a bump in the upper midrange that give them the characteristic growl of a vintage Jazz Bass. I'm not certain at all that the rewound 1966 set will go back on the bass unless for resale/originality reasons.gitdoc3qwt

These are great pickups. They exceeded my expectations. They are full and rich sounding and for the price are a superb value. They're less expensive than just about any other good set of Jazz Bass pickups and cost less than having old pickups rewound. I ordered this to replace the malfunctioning preamp in my Peavey Cirrus USA 5 string bass. Had to do some modification with the wiring since the factory pickups aren't EMGs. Sounds amazing! This is actually the third one that I've purchased (I installed one in my Spector Legend 5 Custom, one in my Peavey Cirrus USA 5, and THIS one that I'm going to install into my Cirrus USA 6). I swapped out all of the Switchcraft jacks in 6 of my basses. These are quality jacks. The connection feels tighter than a normal jack and it seems like its a better, more stable connection. Its a long overdue upgrade to the 1/4 inch jack.glenkathyericethan

I had to do just a small amount of routing for the bridge pickup, but nothing major. Got them put in, and all the electronics that came with them, and put new strings on, tuned up, and had to re-set it up, and what a difference! Made it a whole new bass! I went in with these as a HUGE fan of EMG pickups, but this was my first set with the "solderless" electronics. Well, I was not disappointed. They replaced the pickups/preamp in my '87 Charvel B3, which already sounded great, but some of the controls were malfunctioning. Love it. Had no problems installing these on a passive Warwick Corvette Standard, plug and play. Guitar's pickup slots are more rounded, so I had to remove a little piece of wood for it to fit in, but it's unnoticeable and was required only in 1 pickup. Important – This item includes also 3 knobs+electronics, there's no need to order those separately! When I made the order, no where on the page it mentioned that nor had any image of the package contents, it shown only the pickups, so I thought I redundantly ordered them separately, which doubled the cost.kofif

These were installed in a '98 American Standard. Visually, the white pickups in a white pickguard, with black blades and adjustment screws looks really snazzy. The pickups come well protected in a plastic case and foam. UPS beat up the box, but inside all was well. Word of warning: these did not come with springs for me, and my stock pickups had expansion foam on the bottoms to act as springs, so I had to snag some from another guitar (very odd choice, Fender). The pickups are "potted" with hot melt glue entirely through, and are 2 wire each, with internal wiring. Each pickup is 10k resistance (as much as both stock Fender pickups together). The instructions mention to put the pickups in series, making for 20k resistance. It's a bit high, but the sound from that is amazing. I have 250k pots, with stock ceramic cap in the bass. These do not sound like a low-midrange boomy Precision…these sound like a mildly compressed, EQ'd bass (playing through a Champ 600 wired to an EV 15" cabinet). These are extremely responsive, "punchy," and have excellent sustain. Impressive is the least to be said. They are deep, rumbling, with good midrange balance, and if the tone is left wide open, they have a very neutral, almost singing tone quality. Chording is superb, and high strings are very loud now. The string on my bass have been in use for nearly 10 years. They've been cleaned, but without breaking, I've seen no reason to replace. On the old pickups they sounded a bit dead. The new pickups almost sound like new strings were installed. Bottom line: I have not been impressed with a pickup in some time. These are all they claim to be, and much more. Do your Precision a favor, and install these. You can still get the "vintage" sound with some EQ tweaking, but these are a much more well-rounded set, and for the price…it's a win.UnexplodedCow-a2i6_

I have had this pickup installed in a Frankenstein P-bass for a while. I had a Kramer 700ST bass, and it was P/J with the Spector pickups. I bought a Fender MIM body made from Alder and swapped the Kramer neck onto it. I had one of these from another project and used this pickup. Although the pickup itself sounds great, I don't find it as versatile as others do. I currently have it wired in parallel with 1M CTS pots and a no-load tone pot with a 0.047 uF cap, and I still find the treble extremely lacking. With a ceramic magnet, I expected it to have as many highs as an EMG HZ, but it doesn't. I've used Stainless Steel hex-core strings and the pickup close, and I still have to crank the treble to get any bite out of it. There are definitely a lot more low-mids, however, which may be what is causing the issue with a perceived lack of treble. The Spector P pickup had more bite than this DP127 does in my opinion. Also, I think the DP127 has way too much output for a single middle pickup configuration–it can get muddy real fast, and I'm having to readjust my settings when switching basses on stage. I think an Alnico II magnet rather than ceramic would make this pickup much more versatile than it really is. I don't feel the pickup has as modern of a bass tone as advertised, simply because it lacks a lot of high content even with 1M pots. If I was using it with a J-pickup that had a similar output, I would probably like it more, but I'm not real happy with it as a single-pickup config.Isher

I have tried many pickups including Seymour Duncan Antiquities II, Nordstrand and fender custom shop. These are the best by far! Nice round tone and very clear. Perfect for a jazz bass with 60s position pickups. I liked them so much I bought the Ag 4J-70 for mi 78 fender jazz bass and I was not dissapointed. Best pickups for the money!Funkbass78
