Reviews:
the neck wasn't leveled the frets were sharp on the edges, the six string neck set up higher than the 12. the electronics were cheap and micro-phonic. either neck didn't seem to have a finish on them. even as a beginning guitar it wouldn't be good without a lot of work.harrisonguitars08
This guitar is very nice in appearance but the playability is a bit lacking. The tuning keys on the 12 string were stiff and binding. The volume knob for the 12 string had a wiring problem. when I would turn the volume up,(10) for the 12 string the 6 string volume would be down quite a bit. So when I switched to the 6 string I had to put the volume knob on 8 for the 12 string to get full volume for the 6. I keep all my volume knobs on 10 and adjust my overall volume from the amp. There's supposed to be separate volume knobs for this guitar but like I said there was some kinda wiring glitch. Other then this it was very nice and the sound was exceptional.merw.tom
I got this for a customer and the neck feels like a 2X4 ,not finished at all, like sand paper ,also the heal is cracked and was shimmied with a piece of plastic. View picturerpcmrsz

Reviews:
I owned and played one of these semi-pro for a decade back in the '80s because it was a hassle switching from 6 to 12 string guitars and always having to redial the amp for the different pickup outputs. The heavy mahogany body (and it IS heavy, especially neck-heavy, the reason for the 4 rating) produces crystalline sound with excellent articulation and sustain and the output between necks is well-balanced. The 1275 gave me the versatility and ease of switching (one switch) that I wanted and a sound I loved. My single-neck 12s have been Rics. The 1275 lacks the Ric "jangle" but that's a minor drawback. I also owned a Carvin koa doubleneck: decent 12 string half, totally useless 6 string, but it was well-balanced weight-wise. I played a BC Rich "Bich" doubleneck and the thing is an ergonomic nightmare and didn't sound nearly as good as the Gibson. I installed a belt hook on my strap for the 1275 keep the necks from falling down when I let go and it worked well. If you want a doubleneck, get the Gibson.Jerry
Got silver burst finish which is beautiful and rare. What a beast of an axe. This is a keeper. Epic look and feel. Very playable.RBC

Reviews:
I bought this mandolin here almost five years ago now, and I never regretted it. It needed a set up when I got it. The frets were good, but not perfect, and there was a buzzing in the neck. The buzz turned out to be a loose nut in the coordinator rod. Once everything was set, the instrument played beautifully and easily. It was a great first mandolin. The best thing about it , though, is that it's gotten better over time. I have two other mandolins, and have played several others. For the price, you simply can't beat this model. The tone just keeps getting deeper the older it gets. I may need to get another.Kit
I was drawn to this mandolin just by the looks alone. The gold accents pop out in a awesome antique like finishing. After I played around on it I could tell it was a keeper. A few friends have very high end mandolins and I think the playing action on this is quite close to those for the price. I have always been interested but found lower cost mandolins usually sound tinny, gladly pay extra for quality of sound and cool look!?STEPHEN
A nice starter for the price. It does need a pro setup to soften the action. I found the plastic nut too high and replaced it with a bone one that lowered tge action I also gently adjusted the truss rod set intonation and it was good to go.grawea-5

Reviews:
I bought this for my son's birthday. He is an avid string-musician, several guitars, a banjo and other stringed things. He loved the Mandolin when he saw it and now has had a chance to study a bit and play a bit, too. He says that it is very well made, no rough spots, nice keyboard, rich sound, pick-up works well…all the stuff that makes a nice instrument.Mike H
This is a decent mandolin for the money I picked it up for playing over a amp. It sounds very good and the finish is nice but like all new mandolins you need to have it set-up by a luthier that knows what he is doing! If you try this your self and don't know what your doing you could run into a hole lot of problems and you will never get it right! Mine needed to have the bridge fitted to the body and the action adjusted, also notation set and a new set of GHS steel mandolin strings, you have to use steel strings because of the pick-up on the mandolin it will sound much better! ( It comes with cheap steel ones) once you have this all done RIGHT, you will hear and feel how good this mandolin can perform! It surely makes a big deference.dusterman
I had never picked-up a Mandolin before I bought this one, so I can't say how it compares to Mando's as a whole, but this little Ibanez I really like. I really wanted to learn Mandolin (have been playing guitar for 8-9 years now), and the best way to learn something, IMO, is just to do it. So I did my research, looked at a lot of "beginner" Mando's and decided on this one (Also got it on sale!) You open the box, and the first thing you notice about it is the coloring and the finish, very beautiful as far as mass produced instruments go. When you get it, I strongly recommend changing the strings as the factory strings are just sub-par. This will also give you a chance to get the little piece of foam from under the bridge, as well as the rest of the packing materials that help protect it. I use nanoweb Elixer's (wonderful strings) and once I got a set of those on it, they helped bring out the great tones that are in this Mando. I use the electrics quite a bit with my Irish Band, and if you can get the right cable for it, then the feedback will be completely eliminated. I use a balanced male 1/4" to XLR cable that just goes straight into our Mixer, and it sounds great. If this doesn't work for you, try a Direct Box, that usually balances things out as well. Overall, love this little Mando….wonderful beginner instrument, sounds great, and was a wonderful purchase.Matt

Reviews:
It's very well crafted & plays well. Has a comfortable feel…..!!!cisum4cisum
Pickguard looks perloid in the picture and solid white is what I got. Upper neck has NO pickup selection. I know because I took it apart and all 3 upper pickups are wired directly to the output!! The knob in the middle, should be a blend pot that allows one to have one, both or adjust volume between the 2 necks. What the factory did was McGeyver a regular volume pot to try to do the same thing that kinda works, but not very well. 6 string neck on the on I recieved was very unstable! If you push one way or another, you can hear it go out of tune. 12 string neck is actually a little better, but the string break angle at the nut is ridiculous and pulls at the nut. I had to glue the nut in place (should have been done at the factory) to keep the strings in their proper place. Now I know at this price point for this type of guitar, you might have to put some work in, but some basic stuff should be ok from the jump and quality control sucks. I am a tinkerer and 40 year guitar player. So I know some things and know how to fix stuff. Good Luck if you get one of these that is playable out the box!!Rodd
This is one of the better double neck guitar as Ive bought for that price point, if not the best. Plays great and the neck is straight and true. I highly suggest it if youre in the market for a double neck guitar.timhi1572

Reviews:
The bridge saddle, super Treble Saddle, guitarneck nut, and super treble nut are made of to soft of a material. No amplification for Bass or Super Treble. The fret job was superb, as well as the action. The finish of the fingerboard was very nice but not oiled a good coat of lemoil did wonders. The strings were horribly oxidized with black spots and pitting, very bad for a new instrument. Over all nice for the price. Also no tuner for the Super Trebles.jstmsnu123
Great guitar but what's the tuning for it?matlov_17
Needs complete setup. Only After adjusting the neck. lowering the saddle and after removing the nut and properly seating it was it playable. It now plays reasonably well and I can enjoy it. It is a fine looking instrument. I would recommend it only to those who can do the setup process themselves or are willing to pay a tech to do it for them.bobcat420_0

Reviews:
The tone is very good and the electronics give a true sound through my Fishman amp.maerh_6696
I got this thing because I love the mandolin sound but never liked actually playing one. This tuned like a standard guitar has the bright plucky sound of a mandolin with a string spacing that I could actually play. I've been having a lot of fun with it so far. Once it was in my hands there were some fit and finish issues I have, for the price I feel like the finer details were lacking, but the function of the instrument is phenomenal. It's holding me over while I get a feel for a proper mandolin, but I think it will definitely live in the repertoire to pull out for a jam.Kevin
I have played one (And it had such a good sound and feel and also very cool) I ordered one.The other person reviewing this instrument blamed his Fat Fingers making it hard to play. He blamed the Instrument? I think he needs to get a Classical Guitar? :-)) I have large hands and sausages for fingers but I can still play it. Just take a few minutes to accustom your hand and brain to a different instrument. This instrument, like all Gold Tone instruments, is well built with attention to detail and the price point is Fantastic! Can't say enough about it, except, another quality instrument from Gold Tone. Oh, I am NOT a Gold Tone employee or owner. I own the GM6 Mando Guitar, Banjitar BT1000 and the Electric Banjo. I am writing through experience.misterbruce52

Reviews:
I play guitar and piano, and have wanted to learn mandolin for a long time. When I saw this deal, especially for an acoustic-electric, I jumped on it. I ordered the ivory one, and it arrived in beautiful, brand new condition, and it arrived way ahead of schedule. The website said it wouldn't be available for another few weeks, but I was willing to wait for it. The next day after I placed my order, I got an e-mail saying that my mandolin had shipped, and it arrived two days later. So that was a pleasant surprise! I don't know much about mandolins yet, but I've been playing guitar for many years, so I'm judging this particular mandolin based on my knowledge of stringed instruments in general. Does it stay in tune? Yes, after some careful nudging (but that's really the case with any new instrument, and I hear that mandolins are buggers to keep in tune anyway. I have a 12-string guitar, so same deal on the tuning–gotta tune it tightly and tune it often.) Once I tuned it up, I learned a few chords, and I'm really enjoying learning this new instrument. It has a nice, sweet sound unplugged. I have to admit that I did not expect much from the "electric" portion of this mandolin because the price was so low. But–I plugged it into my Fishman acoustic guitar amp just to make sure it worked, and it sounds really, really great plugged in. I was honestly very impressed with how nice it sounded. This is a no-brainer, great deal. If you've always wanted to give mandolin a try, this is a very nice, inexpensive, quality mandolin, and I'm really happy I made the purchase.Shani B
I have played guitar for years. I have never played mandolin before. This instrument seems to be an excellent value for the money. It is not hand carved like the best instruments but is easy to play and has a decent sound. Other than the adjustments from guitar, pick hold, etc., the transition has been enjoyable. I would have rated it five stars but it needed a good deal of setup and adjustment before it was playable.williaor_2
The product arrived in 3 boxes: Plenty of protection for shipping. The Mandolin was as beautiful as the images provided on the website. I immediately removed the strings provided and exchanged them with GHS Mandolin Ultra Light (09-13-20-32.) Tuning pegs are a challenge but work. Tuning/Intonation was a breeze but for a beginner could prove challenging. After several days of playing, the intonation settled down. The "pickup" is not high quality but I've used it for several shows. The soundman adjusted the gain structure of the mixer/channel to compensate for the quality of the pickup, but like I said, you get what you pay for. Overall, a beautiful instrument and I'd recommend it for anyone. I bought this one (brand new) for 139 and you can't beat that deal!

Get a good setup. Find the best gauge of strings for you.Nick Name
While the instrument is ok. I find that about half of the screws on the pickguard are stripped out and one on the output jack is also stripped. The action at the first fret was very high but I come to expect that. As far as the neck and frets they are very good. A little work, but in the end a playable instrument.jwingard60
This thing is almost unplayable. If you move out of first position it's hard to get the notes to speak.Snakemusik

Reviews:
I have a few guitars and I enjoy playing regularly. One day while I was browsing for new picks I seen this Rogue A-Style mandolin on the stupid deal of the day and thought what the heck do I have to loose? Nothing as it turns out! I found a sweet gem and a wonderful new hobby. I loved it so much I purchased a second (in black) for my twin sister. They are well built, beautiful instruments that stay in tune. We play them all the time.Faith
A friend bought this mandolin for me for my 50th birthday. I've played the guitar for 25+ years and ukulele for 7 years, so I know how great acoustic instruments feel and I was skeptical of this "cheap" mandolin. Out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised. The action was perfect and there were no sharp fret edges whatsoever. And once I properly tuned it up and learned a few basic chords, I was on my way. I was amazed at how much fun it was to play, and I'd play for a while! My friend also bought me the hardshell case, which actually wasn't so great, since I can't fully close it. Thankfully , I don't play the case! This Rogue Mandolin has taught me the joys of the mandolin, which is all you can really ask for from an instrument. I've read reviews of this model and heard they were hit or miss. Luckily, it was a huge hit for me. I highly recommend this mandolin! And I also recommend buying a proper mandolin strap, too.Villafranca
I purchased this mandolin with the simple desire to learn a new musical instrument. I usually play bass but was wanting to try something new. The mandolin came packaged nicely and well protected. The fit and finish on it is extremely nice. The only issue I've found on it is that I can't tell that the bridge is actually wood or not, it kind of looks like plastic, but it fits well to the top. Straight out of the box I tuned it up and the intonation was almost perfect, close enough that I didn't bother adjusting it. The strings on it, I don't believe are the greatest, and the E strings have begun to unwind at the loop, so I have ordered a new set to put on it. The lack of a truss rod is somewhat concerning but as of right now the neck is dead straight. Outside of the string issue this instrument sounds pretty good. For the price this thing is pretty awesome! I would definitely suggest this instrument to anyone wanting to get into a new instrument without spending a ton of money to do so.DJ

Reviews:
I just got my Ktone double neck and found out that problem that greberm_0 has with his 7 string side is not a problem at all. On mine, (exact model) the 6 string volume pot is actually a push/pull pot which switches between both necks. Hope this helps….gre-kesl
I got this guitar just for fun and wanted to play around with a type of guitar Ive never played with before. However, when I plugged it in there was no sound coming out from the 7 string side and I quickly realized there was no switch to change between the necks. I opened up the back of the guitar and it looked like the wiring of the 7 string went straight to the volume pot of the 6 string. I dont know what to do about this and Im kind of disappointed, but Im not surprised because its only a $350 guitar. It should be fixable and for the price it was, it was definitely worth it. If anyone knows how to fix this let me knowgreberm_0

After reading mixed reviews for this company I was a bit apprehensive about buying this item. I ordered it anyway knowing that sometimes it's the player not the guitar that has the issue.
