Reviews:
My wife asked what i wanted for Christmas. My response was "you can never go wrong with a guitar." She had received a sale flyer and decided to get it for me. it is not a guitar I would typically pick out based on the style but its growing on me. When it first arrived the action was a bit high but that is an easy fix. The Fret ends were a bit sharp but nothing a file from Stew mac didn't fix. I play in a garage band the tends to be on the Metal, hard rock side and this fits the bill. At this price I don't have to worry about nicks or scratches or spilled beer.I considered swapping out the pickups but it does the job just fine and I am going to keep it as is.As with any traditional style trem don't expect to Dive bomb it and stay in tune. I myself put 2 extra strings on it and locked it down. I would recommend it to a beginner or as a drag around and don't worry guitar.Chris T
Opened it just to inspect it. It's darker than the one shown in the picture. At first I was upset, but this color is really quite nice. It's more a deep mahogany color. Black pickups and knobs. The back of the neck is a neutral light color wood. It's in perfect shape. No nicks or scratches. Can't play it yet as it's my "gift" to me from my wife. Best way I figured I could avoid an argument was to tell her that she got me my christmas gift for under $100. It looks a lot more expensive than $100 too. She was surprised at the finish of the guitar. Very happy so far…2015.monit
The guitar itself looked cool. That was what I assumed when I went to the store. Then I bought it. I was stupid to not try it at the shop. Frets buzz, some sort of hard sound comes out, and even though I keep tuning to standard, it keeps flatting itself, which forced me to keep it at Drop A. This guitar's only good for actual practice; no amps no pedals no nothing except the guitar. I definitely recommend getting something a bit better, and there are lots within this guitar's price range, some even lower priced.Zephyr

Reviews:
I've always wanted an ML and this one looked so beautiful online. It's even better when it's in your hand. Pickups are awesome, nice full tone and great crunch on the distortion side. Love the matte finish on the back of the neck. It has great sustain too, you can feel the tone through the whole guitar when you play a note and I prefer that solid feel when I play. My only two complaints is there are a couple fingerprints under the clear coat on the back. Obviously missed during the QC checks at the factory. But they're barely noticeable and they're on the back. Gives it character to have a workers fingerprints as part of my guitar. The other thing is the frets could've been polished a little better. But when I changed the strings, I took another 30 mins and polished them and that was that. This is my 10th guitar and it's tied for number one favorite. I play it every day and love it. I bought the case for it as well, it's enormous, but great fit and quality. Will
Overall: I purchased a Dean EVO XM electric guitar awhile ago, at a very reasonable price, but the fret edges were sharp, and adjusting the neck for a modicum of playability was practically impossible! My mistake was leaving it back in it’s box, and missing the cut off for returns by ONE DAY! The customer service agent basically said “no can do”, sorry, etc. So, I bought an Epiphone TV Yellow Les Paul Special, with a nice discount price, and put the Dean on an internet selling network. It still sits in the carton it came in, and I await some individual to take it off my hands. In actuality, that one day late in trying to get a refund, and told a resounding “No”, was within zZounds right to do so, but it left a “bad taste”in my mouth, to say the least. I won’t buy from them again.
This Dean Select Quilt Top V is the best V I've ever owned. I've owned many by all the other companies. The pickups are the best I've heard through my Marshall ever. The quilt top is amazing. The binding is beautiful and the satin neck is very fast to play on. Frets are level. Probably better than most of the guitars I own. No complaints anywhere. I love this guitar.

Reviews:
I purchased this Dean ML based on my appreciation for Dime and simply because teenage me committed to owning one someday. I found a pic that I took with Dime which reminded me of being in the front row watching him jam away on his Dime Slime years ago. For me, this purchase was primarily motivated by nostalgia, expecting build quality to be sort of, ok. I have to say, this guitar exceeded my expectations. Slight disclaimer: I purchased this item knowing I would immediately upgrade most of the hardware and adjust things to make it more comfortable for my playing. 1) It is a fantastic base instrument. It plays fairly well as sold. This was my first experience with a Floyd Rose Special. Also, it will definitely be my last. I played it stock for about 2 weeks to get a good feel for it before changing anything. It’s a great playing guitar. 2) Every review I saw said that the finish was amazing and pictures just couldn’t do it justice. I agree. They did a great job on the neck and body of this guitar. It’s flawless. 3) Everything was to spec on mine. Action, truss rod, intonation, fret, bridge and pickup height, all perfect. My fretboard had a somewhat excessive amount of dye on it but nothing too crazy. The nut on mine was clearly cut too deep leaving the high e in permanent sitar mode with fret buzz. So, quality control could be an issue. For my needs this wasn’t a problem as I had already decided on replacing virtually all hardware with new parts that I had on hand from a project that I decided not to restore. 4) The pickups sound great. The Dime Slime nailed the Pantera tones, not surprising. I was surprised by the classic/southern rock and soloist tones I was able to get with minor eq adjustments. Clear and warm through the drive/distortion. It does jazz and country pretty well too. It has a very balanced sound to it which I was not expecting. I’ve played it on three different amps with the same results. Great. This is a great buy. A solid guitar as is. However, in my case, this guitar didn’t really come to life until I did what I did: OFR Hot Rod, brass block, springs, some shielding, etc. Now, what really irritates me is that it plays a lot better than a few of my guitars that were either at or almost double the cost of the Dime Slime. Get One!SantaRosaJoe
Overall: I'm no stranger to the scratch and dent game. I think half the fun is trying to figure out where the scratch and or dent is. When this model V came out I already knew that it would be a great guitar. Never played a Dean I didn't like. This model is a steal even at full price. Mahogony body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Floyd and hot pickups. Actually, very hot pickups. My guitar has a bright sizzle to it in the bridge pickup and the neck pickup sounds great. Pretty balanced out put. The bridge is a Floyd Rose Lic. Stays in tune well. The fretboard is high quality. No fretsprout to speak of. Intonation is good, stays in tune and no high frets to speak of. The profile is the C shape. Similar to a 50s Lp just a tad thinner. The flat black finish is awesome the blem is only a slight discoloration on a portion of the binding. What that tells me is that the regular price model will be no doubt flawless. If you want that grind, metal, searing flamethrower sound the bolt on is the way to go. Bolt on necks are usually a little brighter. Sustains very well. I'm very very happy with it. It is exactly what it is advertised as. Buy one. You'll love it. Getting the ML X Floyd next. No doubt due to my own preference I will be swapping out the bridge pickup only. All my main guitars have Seymour Duncan TB and SH 6 bridge pickups. Great guitar for nodding to tour own preferences. You'd be doing killer as is too. I'm in no hurry to swap pickups. Great buy.
Not a V type of player. I like Wilco, the Pixies, the Smiths, Stone Roses, Courtney Barnett, etc. So when I saw Ryan Adams rocking a V by that other manufacturer that starts with G, I started thinking about the V body style. I liked this model because it was at the right price point and had the tradition V body style, if you don't think too much about the headstock. This guitar probably hasn't gotten any love because I don't see it as your typical Dime type guitar, and its not your typical vintage Flying V. The pickups are not high enough gain to get love from the shredders and the Headstock probably turns some people off. What I found is a pretty great guitar with some help. First, the action was high. I lowered the bridge significantly. The good news is that the frets are good I didn't run into any buzziness after lowering the action a little lower than I thought I could get away with. Next, the pickups needed adjustment. They were pretty low. I brought them up a little and found that the sound filled out and got chimey like it should. I adjusted the pole pieces to match the fretboard radius and viola! Most of these guitars have good pickups and don't need an immediate change. Folks, you need to learn how to properly adjust your guitar pickups! Then figure out if you need something different. PS adjust these pickups on a clean channel, you need to hear the guitar not distortion. Long story short, this is a great guitar. It shouldn't be your main axe, but its a great conversation piece that sounds better than it should. I feel like I discovered a diamond in the rough. P.S. The guitar is really light and comfortable to play with a strap.Fred

I was gifted this beauty for my birthday. I had a 2PU version before, but through my own innatention, cracked the breadstick at the neck. I repaired it, but then sold it. I giggled and recorded extensively with that guitar. I was missing it, and thanks to my kid brother and his wonderful girlfriend, the Caddy has joined my guitar tribe. It sounds, feels, and plays like and old friend!L.B.

Reviews:
I purchased this guitar a couple months ago and while the finish is absolutely stunning and I want to just mount it on the wall, it’s hard to put it down! The guitar came in tune, set up and ready to play. Easily one of the best playing guitars I’ve ever picked up, I own a Prestige Ibanez, two schecters, an ESP LTD and this one is so easy to play compared to all the others. Bends and vibrato are effortless and the Floyd is great, stays in tune nicely. The Dimebucker is super, super hot, great for the Dime harmonics and squeals. Also this guitar and it’s case are massive, have to fold the seats in my SUV down every time I take it anywhere, but despite its large surface area; it is extremely light. Would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a speedy player or a fan of Dimebag Darrell like myself.
Great metal guitar. When I ordered this Dean I was already thinking of swapping out the neck pickup to some type of Duncan. Then the guitar showed up, the Dime Time neck pickup is amazing! No need to really swap it out unless you really dont like the sound of the Dean pickup. The neck profile on this Dean is a soft V. It's chunky but definitely not like an old Les Paul. It's comfy. If you do not like thick necks, this is not the guitar for you. The korean Floyd on this thing is just as good as a German floyd. Will not go out of tune, unless you set it up wrong. Do some research, its not difficult at all. The Dimebucker is a very underrated pickup. Ton's of reviews of those online and on YouTube. Look it up, you're either gonna love it or hate it. This guitar screams METAL. It's huge. When you strap this guitar on you automatically get a boost of testosterone and instantly grow a red goatee. Not for the feint of heart- get an Ibanez instead.Javier M.
Overall: You can tell that someone was behind every little process in building this beautiful instrument. The neck is a slick as water, the action and everything is set up perfectly, Everything about this guitar just feel premium about it. The ebony fretboard. The paintjob. Down to the extra polish they gave the inlays for a silky touch. I do wish they had stuck with the original stealth headstock. But I can understand using the Razorback. But always wanted one of these high-end Dimebag guitars (I got a Dean from Hell & a basic Razorback) and thanks to zZounds I was able to do it without breaking the bank.

Excellent Packaging and fast shipping will definitely do more business with The Music SourceKenneth
Don't expect a custom shop handmade guitar; but for the money, this guitar kicks all kinds of tail! It plays very nicely with a very fast fretboard and thin neck. Stays in tune when abusing it with heavy pick attack. It does exactly what it looks like it was made for doing! Not to mention, it looks really cool, and plays as good as it looks! I have been playing for 25+ years, have owned many, many, many, mid-priced guitars over the years and this is definitely a big bang for the buck! Looks + Tone + Playability = Worth the investment.Cut-Bait
9. Dean Vendetta Xm Tremolo Electric Guitar – Metallic Blue

Product Details:
With four models to choose from, the vendettas have string-through-body design, classic dean v ferrule pattern, dual humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. the vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. the 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. the vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the pearl evil eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. the 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "tiger eye" finish. paulownia bodypaulownia is an increasingly popular substitute for mahogany in more affordable guitar models. it's a fast-growing, hearty tree native to japan and southeast asia, and has traditionally been used for asian string instruments. as a lightweight, porous body wood, paulownia is somewhat similar to swamp ash in its sonic signature: very resonant, with plenty of chime and a nice, tight low-end. bolt-on constructionthe vendetta xm uses bolt-on construction, an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. the advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it. the maple neck features an ultra-playable 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays. dean humbucker pickupsto capture the biting tones of vintage deans, the company includes two humbuckers. these pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. the standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided. dean diecast tuners dean's sealed diecast tuners offer solid tuning and mechanics, for a long lifetime of dependable performance. vintage tremolo bridge add a little flavor to your playing, from subtle vibrato to full-on dive bombs.

TGhe guitar I got had some factory defects that I had to correct by myself. There was a not very good electric contact that caused an undesirable noise. This was expected in a very cheap 7 strings guitar. The guitar is good looking, I hope it last in that way several years.palospacheco

Reviews:
I ordered the nuclear green version after playing one at Guitar Center. I was looking for a practice bass for home use and the one at the store played and sounded as good as a lot of more expensive basses. Took it to practice and my band mates all thought it sounded great (after they got over the extremely bright color). The neck has a great feel and is easy to play. It took a bit of setup work adjusting the saddles (had some fret buzz out of the box) but once that was done it plays nicely and has good tone. For the price, this is a great bass!Pablo
I've been performing music for 22 years and have to give this bass a shoutout. There are so many things to love about it. The intonation is rock solid all across the neck. The neck and frets are great. I've played probably a dozen paid gigs with this bass and gotten many compliments on the sound running through a variety of setups – stacks, combos, different size cabinets, house PAs, etc. A huge benefit of the neon green neck is that the frets are actually visible on a low lit stage, which makes it much easier to perform without staring down at the instrument the whole time. I did upgrade the pickup to a Dimarzio with adjustable pole pieces, but it doesn't sound much better than the stock pickup other than having that string volume control. Lots to love about this bass.alex1fly
I wanted something not too expensive, entry and unique with quality. This bass hits all of those points and the finish on the color is INCREDIBLE. If you're looking for something fun and of quality, this is your ticket. What blew me away was the quality of the factory strings, I was skeptical at first to upgrade as I wanted to see what I was getting out of the box. For a Bass under $300, I am impressed. The body is solid, large compared to the short scale I had years ago. The only slight drawback with this Bass are with the tuning knobs, as they feel slightly loose for what I expected. Don't let that deter you though, I jammed for about three hours as soon as I opened and tuned it, they held the tune just fine with heavy use. I am not sure why this Bass has any negative reviews, as you truly are getting a heck of a deal with this baby. Either way, entry, travel or not, this is a phenomenal instrument for the price, you can't beat the quality found here. I would highly recommend this one over the Ibanez entry Bass' as this is a far better instrument. Will

I was hesitant to buy a "used" level 2 guitar without being able to see and play it in person. I've had this guitar for two months now and I'm really glad I took a chance. I honestly couldn't find any of the slight marks in the finish that were indicated in the photos. I am very impressed with the build quality, no sharp fret edges or any other flaws. I love the solid feel of the Les Paul style, but the slightly thinner body makes it more comfortable to wear all night. The cutaway of the ultra-access neck makes playing on the 15th fret and beyond much easier. The pickups are bright and full sounding. If I change anything down the road it may be the bridge pickup – but it would be preference not a need.Shawn73
I bought this guitar so I could have a Les Paul style guitar without paying the ridiculous Gibson prices. The DMT pickups weren't going to work for me as far as the tones I wanted, though they were good pickups in their own right. I swapped them with Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups and the same caps and pots they use in Les Pauls (which cost me more than half again the price of the guitar itself). I wanted to play some old Les Paul tunes with a similar tone, and get classic Gibson sorts of tones with my Marshall amps, and I'm not disappointed. The action was a little high at the bridge end when I got it, but I adjusted that out with not much buzzing. Bottom line: this is a well-built, nice feeling little guitar which probably can't be bettered considering the price, a fairly inexpensive guitar done right. This would also be an excellent guitar for beginners.STEEVEE
The Good: Beautiful finish, great pick-ups, fast neck, and quality hardware. The Bad: This is really nit picking because you really have to look hard for any flaws, but the inlays were not leveled very well, the input jack is not the greatest, and the fingerboard is supposed to be ebony. It looks more like rosewood to me. Over-all this is a gorgeous, well made instrument. Compared to the other LP style guitars I was looking at this one was by far the best. Not absolutely perfect. But then again, I didn't pay 3K, and I will put this up against anything any day. Oh, and the pick-ups are almost a spot on clone of the SD Jazz/JB combo. In a side by side comparison it was tough to tell the difference in sound.Brandon-S99OA

18. Dean V 79 Cbk Solid-Body Electric Guitar, Classic Black

Product Details:
