Overall: Got a couple sets of the extra light (D930) strings put one of the sets on my Gretsch G5425. Easy on, tunes well and after stretching the strings it holds tune very well. The bass is strong and no too overpowering and the treble was bright without being tinny. The middle was a little underwhelming at times, but I'm not sure if it was the strings or the amp I was using. When I changed amps there were no issues. I would definitely use these again. Next up will be trying a set out on my Les Paul, after I burn up the strings on it.Steve

I find these are a great alternative. Obviously they will go dead a little quicker, than other brands. Though you can't complain, they are half the price! If I had to compare, I would say they are very similar to Dean Markley strings. Depending on what your opinion on them is. They work well, I have used about 6 sets so far, and the quality is 100% the same…They typically last me about 2 months. I usually use D'Addario, and I've killed those in 3 months…sometimes i can squeeze 4 months out of them. I really like Darco's. I was hesitant at first due to the price, however I was being biased. If you have really sweaty hands and kill strings fast, buy these strings. Or if you are selling a guitar, and need to slap a fresh set on, these are a great solution. Also if you have multiple guitars, and use different gauges like I do, these are easier on the wallet. At this price it's definitely affordable. Strings and Beyond is hands down the best place! I have never seen them at my local shops.victor

I took a lot of years off and I had stock 10s on my G&Ls that was killing my hands so I played those for a while and endured my shortcomings as my hands were in training to regain the strength of my youth. Then made the switch to Ernie Ball Hybrid 0946s and that felt better but still felt like a battle when playing faster licks and solos. A friend suggested that I try the NYXL0942. Wow! I felt like I was in a time warp and back to my old self from years ago. These NYXLs have initially withstood my bending and time will tell to see if they are as tough as advertised. Also they feel like I am playing nylon strings so they are a lot more comfortable. Could be the lighter gauge but I think the string design also has something to do with that. The only thing I notice is that they do not ring out as loudly as my previous strings but it does not matter when you plug in. Really glad about these strings and will probably be putting these on all my guitars.MediumSexy
I love the sound of NYXL. They provide me with a pearl like sound that I can use for jazz as well as for heavier sounding music. The strings have qualities that last for a very long time. I usually change my strings every week. I left them for a month on my guitar just to see how they would sound. They sound fantastic… they would lose some freshness after about two weeks but they still hold a great deal of quality after two months playing. They also stay in tune after you pull your strings. These strings are a great sounding string with a full tone. I typically used an 11 string guage and went down to a 10 on my current guitar setup. When I tried the 9s I thought I would lose some of the warmth and fullness, but they sound fairly consistent with with heavier guage strings and are easier to play and bend. This is a nice package set of guitar strings. You get ten sets in one box. that makes it so nice to not have to keep buying them so often. I really like how they packaged these guitar strings. the outer box is smaller than you would think for ten sets of guitar strings. But instead of having each set of guitar strings in another box individually, they have each set of guitar strings in its own bag, that is sealed. Made it easier to find a place to store the extra guitar strings for when I need them next. Was easier to stow an extra set in my guitar case since it was not in a stiff box, but in a sealed bag instead. I like how the guitar strings are color coded on the package and the string. These D'Addario EXL110-3D strings are great! They are bit heavier than the 'slinkys' that my son usually uses, but he really likes these too. They go on easy, and seem strong. They sound amazing! My son has 1 of the 3 sets on his strat, I have one set on my vintage 80's Ibanez, and the third set is a spare in case we break any strings. They give a rich on the lows and bright on the highs tone. They feel good on the fingers, and have the right amount of give. The intonation is excellent and these, apparently D'Addario's best selling strings, will possibly last a long time. I read that the core of these strings is hexagonal in shape, which helps the way the wrap sounds, feels and behaves. These strings have a really nice sustain too, and seem to stay in tune better than other brands we've used. I think these would make a great gift, as they come in a set of 3, but also these are good to stock up on for yourself. We'll definitely be getting more!Kedst123
Bought a 10 pack in 1992. Still have a couple sets left. My main Warmoth partscaster wears the strings out in about 5 years. You read that correctly, i leave those strings on until the winding on the D string wears off. Not that they break. I gig regularly and I use stainless steel frets on my partscasters. I've been playing for 38 years. I wasn't aware of generic strings in the old days so I've used all the big names, Ernie Ball, GHS, D'addario and to me these are pretty good strings. I've been using them for 8 or 9 years now. The main thing I will say about them is that they mellow out quickly, in other words the new string brightness goes away pretty fast. For me, this is good. I do not like that jangle brightness of new strings. Other than that I can't hear or feel a difference from the major brands. I have recommended them to friends who also liked them. We were in a cover band together and had to restring many guitars fairly often because they would get sweat all over and not wiped down. So these were economical.Quinn
I bought a whole bunch of these in different sizes as it is a good way to experiment with using different sized strings. Some strings last a while but many pop almost immediately right at the ball. Once I had three in a row pop, each one the first time I struck the string with the pick. Enough of the strings work well enough to allow me to accomplish what i wanted but it is frustrating and I will be glad when they run out. But whatever at this price I don't really care.b
I ordered a huge bulk back in 2010, the 10 thru 46 guages set. They hold tune well and have good tone. After each time I practice or gig, I wipe down the strings with 3 in 1 oil and they last. Some people complain that the ball ends break off. But I only use these strings on my Floyd Rose equiped guitars, so I use the ball end wrapped through the posts of my tuning keys, then lock the clamp down. I use stainless steel picks and stacatto pick ( like Yngwie Malmsteen), bend 2 whole steps and pull up hard on the tremolo bar …..and they stay in perfect tune. A colleague of mine turned me on to these, and in particular to this strange gauge of 9.5 – 44. I had struggled in the past with standard 9s on a guitar with high output pickups and a warble-happy whammy bar. I find these strings to handle really nicely, a perfect amount of slick and grip (finger contact) and they positively scream in my current configuration. I've put them on a guitar that I don't play live often, and I find that the strings don't deteriorate over time with the guitar being left in the case. This is very subjective and a question of personal chemistry. I mean, I've seen players go through a pack of the best "long-lasting" string on the market in one night, so it'll always come down to which material lends itself to your handling. Despite the price tag, I am not sorry that I've purchased those, and I just picked up a few more packs to tide me over the months of session work.Boyan P.
I have been using these strings for about a year now, when I had to drop down to 8 gauge strings due to carpal tunnel in my left hand. I wanted to go with a higher quality string since I would be using such a light gauge. The NYXL series does not disappoint. They are extremely flexible, stay in tune, last a really long time and they sound incredible. I had concerns that I would be sacrificing tone, but this has not been the case. Not only are the strings not aggravating my carpal tunnel, I'm enjoying the ease of playability and wicked vibrato and bends. I wish I had made the switch to these strings much sooner.Jon
This is the first time I tried these D'Addario NYXL strings. I got the nickel wound electric strings, regular light. I think these strings are one of the best I've used. I started playing guitar when I was very young so I've been playing for a lot of years. These nickel wound electric guitar strings are easy to play. The strings are nice on the fingers. Some strings make my finger tips get tuff, but tuff to the point that it affects the preasure I use on the strings. These nickel wound strings don't do that. I have had them on for some time now and none of them broke. I like the tone of the strings. It made tuning the guitar very easy after I strung it. There is something to say about having strings that are easy to string, tune, and have a great tone. If you are playing out some where and a string breaks you need to work kind of fast to get up and playing again. These strings do the trick.penny

I've been using NYXLs for years, and they are the longest lasting strings I've ever used. Historically, I would change my strings after every other show because I would usually start breaking strings after 3 shows. With the NYXLs, I just keep playing them until they break because I can get often get 6 shows out of them! Sure, they may cost a tad more, but from my experience, they last twice as long.Tony
I'm trying these strings after years of using the standard D'Addario 11-49 set (EXL115). Only just fitted so it's really too early to review, however they do sound and feel great although not a lot different, which is fine, possibly very slightly stronger tension. The real test will be how well, over time, they stay in tune (which was my main reason for trying them), and whether they maintain their "new" sound for any longer than the standard set. Great that you can also buy singles, as I changed the 3rd plain for a wound NYNW020 which also sounds super.Colin
I do love nickel wound guitar strings that one of the best choices I made. It has some pros and cons, but the only negative thing it contains those strings are not long-living strings, soon they lose its colour and brightness of the sound. But not everything is so sad! They are soft and you don't cut your baby fingers if you're an amateur of playing on the guitar, they are very awesome of you like punk, or funk, or even jazz, they are good for any style of music. Those cool strings are very good for the strong semi-professional career and if you choose them you won't regret your decision.ALEX

I have used this strings for 20+ years. Not the best but they were a good price and lasted. Something has changed. I have noticed over the last few years that my string were breaking in the guitar case after only a month or two. I finally realized that the ball ends are collapsing under the pressure of being in standard tuning for more than a month. When this happens the loop falls off of the ball ends and lets go of the string. This happened to one of my nicer Archtop guitars that I haven't played for a month or so. The result was that the neck has bowed due to the fact that there was no counter pressure pulling back on the truss rod. They must be cutting corners on the amount of material used in the ball ends. This is the 3rd time it is happened and I will never buy any string from D'adarrio ever again. This has nearly ruined the neck on one of my most valuable guitars. Absolute junk!JL
I was taught when something goes wrong with your car to fix the least expensive item first; if that doesn't work go to the next thing that costs less, etc., until you finally get the car running. I've a beautiful semi-hollow I purchased from a luthier in Colorado, but I wasn't enamored with the sound; I thought it may be the humbuckers, but like the car I opted to change the strings first. Very glad I did! I've been a D'addario fan for a while now, so I knew I was getting quality, but these inexpensive round wounds brought a depth of sound that was missing. These don't wail off a totally dominant siren on the third string, and unlike the EX115W's I used to use exclusively; these can take a tremendous amount of abuse from my rock style British Blues. Nuff said one heck of a set of strings, at a great price here on eBay. Thanks folks.peakofgoodliving

These strings sound and feel great on my 12-string Strat. My only complaint is that I think the lower-octave G-string should be wound, not plain steel. My solution was simply to buy a bunch of single D'addario 18W strings to supplement these sets. Worth it for the improvement in intonation and tonal balance with the E, A and D octave pairs.captdusty
The price was good, but the strings sound toppy real bad. I am constantly having to adjust because of buzzing. I wouldnt normally suspect the strings for the buzzing, but there was no buzzing before and I have to regularly adjust to make it stop. Which Im sure throws off my intonation and action. Not worried to much about action on this 12 string. Thinking of switching out the primary 6 to se if that fixes it.tomdarton

My go-to strings for funk / rock. They can take a beating and usually last for at least four or five months. They take a while to break in, and can sound overly metallic for a while, but when they do eventually break in, they sound good and are very reliable. Used these strings for several years before switching to Ernie Ball. Overall good tone but the heavy bottom isn't what I need. Quite long-lasting if you wash hands before playing the guitar. Also I would say that 3rd and 2nd strings are out of the overall volume. When using a middle single on a stratocaster without compressor they are louder than I would desire.Ivan

Got these Strings from Sam Ash a year ago. I am not a experienced player but I do all of my own setups and I know a good tone when I hear it. These Strings were fantastic day one but didn't hold a a tune very well for about a week. This is usually the case with most strings. After they settled in the tone was great for about 4 months then they start to lose that bright new sound. I play a lot of styles from blues to rock. No metal so not sure how they sound with that. My intonation was perfect and I still have these Strings. I rarely change my strings unless they break or rust and these haven't broken or rusted. Easy to bend. I've been using black beauties for years now. Originally bought them for the look they gave me on my black Tele. They really lasted a long time. And they produced good tone on the instrument. Of course some the coating wore off at the picking area after a few hours of use. Everyone expects that. But you could only tell if you get real close. the fingerboard area stays coated real well. And keeps that slick feel. I don't notice any sound degradation, and the intonation remains constant. And hey Kids, a black majic marker fixes the chipped coating! Just kidding ! I really do find that these strings last a long time and I bend them all over the frets. I constantly buy these.J W GUITARS
Overall: I'm really not that tough to please but these strings are a disappointment to me. I do like the black color, BUT – and I kid you not! – within ONE minute of playing the black was already coming off my high E string and I was playing with my fingers, not a pick! I saw what looked like a piece of fuzz on the string so I started wiping it off, only to realize it's the black color coming off further and further. Within five minutes I had about an inch and a half of bare string showing. It comes off so easy it seems lit it's just spray paint. I understand it won't last forever, but one minute?? Come on. The other thing I don't like about these strings is they have an uneven plastic type feel to them. It's not horrible, but they don't feel like "regular" strings. Other than that they sound OK, nothing special, so I'm definitely not buying these again.Tim
These look awesome and have a very smooth nylon feel. They don't sound bad at all. Maybe a little different I'm sure. They will shed the coating eventually, especially if u use a custom plectrum/pick made of metal or some other highly dense material. Metal will remove the coating immediately! The coating may also slow down the corrosion process. They are holding up good so far. I like these strings. I have a set of white strings somewhere. Those seem hard to find.jcfvintage
