This guitar is a breath of fresh air, something different from my collection of Strats, Les Pauls, Wilshires, etc. I love the looks and the sounds even better. The humbucker modes are strong and tasteful, the single coils are not quite a Strat but different enough to provide a great alternative sound. The mix of both provide lots of options. I have small hands and always went for thin necks especially the Gibson trim tapers but this thicker neck actually feels and plays great. I am amazed by the quality of modern guitars and the success of American builders who provide less expensive options through foreign manufacturing. We are living in the golden era of guitars – Thanks PRS!
I want to start by saying I did not get it from GC. I got it from another site where they had a charcoal option. This is a review on the guitar and not the supplier. They say a good guitar isn't necessary how it looks. I also read a lot about "a PRS sounds somewhere between a Les Paul and a Strat." For some reason people hold these sounds as the "gold standard" for musical guitar tone. Now I don't know about that either. What I can tell you is that what makes this a good guitar is how inspiring it is and how creative it's making me play. I don't know how to describe it- maybe a more experience person can weigh in (I've been playing on and off for a few years) but I seem so much more creative in my playing when I'm jamming with this as compared to my Gibson SG standard or Fender Player. At the end of the day, you want a guitar that not only sounds great (which this absolutely does) but also feels great and inspires you to play out of your norm. It does not have as much rock power when distorted when compared to my SG, so if you're looking for a rock heavy guitar, I don't know if this is for you. But it sounds incredible clean (which is how I mostly play). My Player sounds great clean too, but I love the wider and thicker neck profile it has compared to my strat (I got big gorilla hands so I like a chunkier neck). I've only had this for 2 weeks but it's become my grab guitar.Robbie A
I was looking for an entry level guitar that was priced right and built well. First of all, how can you go wrong with this beautiful style. It is also very light and wont leave you with back pain after a couple hours of riffing. Tuning keys are solid without any dead spots and dont slip. The guitar stays in tune very well with only slight adjustment needed due to temperature changes. Pick up selector is smooth and not notchy. Havent used the whammy bar and have been playing with studio headphones, so sound is subjective, but as someone that has been playing several instruments for 30 years, I like to think I have a good ear. I gig over 100 times a year. I play Les Paul's. My current number one has burstbucker pro pickups. This modern has them as well with the asymmetrical neck. it sounds and plays amazing, and will likely replace my standard has my number one. I checked it out for quality issues. This is a very well-made guitar. Only one small thing it arrived with a broken tone knob cap. I called Gibson and I got one in the mail two days later very quick.Bill
I've been a long time Gibson fan and have owned several over the years. I've held on to the good ones and have gotten rid of the rest. Gibson has been known to have their quality control issues for quite a while now and being that I'm an online buyer I was reluctant to pull the trigger on this one. But…I heard that Gibson was under new management and I'm also a sucker for an ebony fretboard, MOP inlays and locking tuners…so I pulled the trigger! Let me say that this one is an absolute keeper! The fit and finish is perfect except for a dull spot on the finish under the pickguard nut/pad (this is from putting the guard on when the finish hasn't cured all the way), the binding is flush with the side of the of the body around the entire guitar (a common problem from routing the binding channel too deep), and the frets edges are finished smooth even in the higher register. I love everything about this guitar, the sparkle finish of the Graphite color top (it's shows but is not over done), the pickups sound great and have the switching capabilities for any style of music, the bypass switch is super cool as it takes you from whatever pickup/coil tap combination you're in at the time right back to a straight bridge pickup, and the neck feels good and natural at any place along the fretboard. If I had to say something negative about the guitar, I would say that they didn't do a great job on their intention of the "new modern contoured heel" because it still has a blocky corner at the neck joint, but as a Gibson owner I am accustomed to blocky heels so I really doesn't bother me. First time buying a guitar from Sam Ash and it was set up perfectly and was immediately playable. The tech that set this up knew what he was doing! You have a repeat customer here!!Dave C.
The action and finish were flawless out of the box. The compound radius neck was very comfortable for single note playing. Unfortunately, the guitar body did not resonate well when playing chords. It might have been a one-off fluke. Although the LP was very playable, I preferred the width and scale of an Ibanez RG550 neck.Anonymous

If is fine for a young kid 6-10 years old to see if they will have any interest in playing a guitar later on without putting a lot of money into it. The "case" that came with it was more like a plastic garment bag. Strap does NOT fit and only has one of the connections for it on the guitar. TBH, I was sceptical. A little over a hundred bucks, how could a guitar be any good? It suffers from cheap hardware, but much more stable and playable than I was expecting. Unbelievably out of the box, this crazy thing was actually playable. How? The pickups sound ok, the strings were reasonable height. No sharp fret edges, the neck was straight, tuning keys aren't great, but they work. I wanted a guitar with humbuckers, since my other guitar is a stratocaster. It feels light and cheap, but everything works. The body style is cool, it screams "metal", but does blues just fine. This is out of the box, with no adjustment. I'm sure it would sound even better with a set of good strings. If it holds up to daily playing, an awesome bargain. Never heard of "Glarry", but so far it's decent.
Solid kit for a beginner. Good sound, good amp. The strap is flimsy and uncomfortable but it's cool they include one in the first place. The bag isnt anything special, I mainly use it to keep dust off the guitar. The bag came with a hole in it, but with it not being the most amazing material I wasnt suprised or angry. The amp is loud and has some nice sound options for experimenting with sound. Nothing too advanced or confusing, which I like being a total beginner. The guitar itself is a nice size. I'm on the smaller side, 5ft 0in, so when looking for a guitar to purchase I wanted something small. The strings are strong and stay tuned. I hadn't played for a few days and when picking it back up I barely needed to adjust the tuners. Overall it's a great kit for the money to dip your toes into playing. Even with the flimsy and cheap material of the gig bag and strap, the fact its included is killer in my opinion. Highly recommend.
Red Burning Fire Combo Pack For the price point, it's not a bad deal at all. The guitar had no real defects (like sprung frets, sharp fret ends, high frets, loose frets, etc.). The guitar was well packaged for shipment – showed no signs of damage by rough handling. Unfortunately, upon opening the package, it was clear I'd been sent a guitar that had been sitting for a bit after being built. It was unplayable out of the box, needing a neck adjustment to straighten the neck. The strings were coated with some sort of build up, as well. And the fretboard was in dire need of conditioning. Having said that, everything was addressable with a string change and quick set-up. After the setup and string change, the guitar plays quite well, having no dead frets or fret buzz. Overall, I would recommend the product to others – with a caveat that the instrument most likely will need a little TLC to be ready to play.

Rg8570zl j.custom lh*used. technically. the bridge pickup has been replaced with a dimarzio super 3. magnificent. the original tone zone couldn t cut through the mahogany.it s not mint because it does have a very light (not through the clear) zigly scratch. it s very very hard to get a picture of it. you can see a little on the picture with the four lightbulbs reflecting off the top. priced accordingly, and priced to sell.
