Best Worship Guitar Pedals (2024 Update)

First of all, I already own other Boss pedals and I can say that it is a quality brand. The pedal in question, not cheap but in an average price range, does just what it needs to do! The sound is clear, well finished on all frequencies, the dynamics improve and the overall level of the guitar sound is also raised and leveled. There is a fairly long sustain of the sound. I usually play clean or near-clean through a Fender-ish Carvin SX-100 Combo. Until today, no matter what I did, my thin hollowbody Ibanez AFS-75 always had just a little "crud" in the tone. After reading another review talking about how they used the CS-3, I experimented around and here's what I've done. I've put the CS-3 between the guitar and the amp and run the rest of the effects including EQ through the effects loop setting the CS-3 (from Left to Right) at 1, 1, 10, 11. At these settings, my Flat Wounds have a new sparkle and equal level from string to string. There is no distortion pedal in my effects setup although I do dirty up the signal just a tiny bit using the Carvin Amp Distortion to add just a bit of life to my playing. I'm a Jazz Student (emphasis on student) seeking that organic jazz guitar sound and the CS-3 has improved the tonality and removed the crud. It's actually pretty startling.Ed

I'll directly get down to the Pros & Cons: Pros: *Good sustain *Rich & clear tone *Produce a kind of slapping & sharp tone once you increase the attack knob. *It suppresses the sound of hard strumming & boost the sound of soft strumming & produces a well balanced sound. Cons: *Creates noise, I'm not sure either my order of placing the pedal is not right or is it due to power supply kind of problem which Daisy chain that I was using earlier. But now I've shifted to voodoo lab power supply & I've started using Noise suppressor. So. overall it's a good pedal, but it creates a lot of unwanted noise too & that's the only drawback this has. I think Boss should take this into consideration. And if you buy this pedal, then I recommend you to buy a noise suppressor too & if possible buy a all in one isolated power supply like voodoo lab, etc. Thank you!!!N S.

I was looking for a chorus pedal with a similar sound to 80s bands like The Cocteau Twins and The Cure. Wow, the Boss CE-5 is just what I needed! It has a really transparent sound, a lush ethereal shimmer. Its a lot more subtle than many chorus pedals, and thats just what I like. Its one of those pedals you might forget its on until you turn it off. But why bother turning it off, I pretty much leave it on all the time. It sounds divine with delay and reverb pedals and adds another dimension to fuzz pedals. The stereo out is really nice. One output is dry, and the other effected. I wasnt sure how that would sound before I got the pedal, but believe me; the sound from a split stereo cab or two amps is amazing! It basically causes the wet and dry signals to blend out in the room, rather than mix them together and run through one speaker like most chorus effects. It makes a huge 3d kind of sound that must be heard to be believed. The Boss CE-5 nails that 80s alternative sound. Im never getting rid of this pedal.eccentricwhim

This is a more subtle chorus, giving your sound a more nuanced breadth. It won't give you a warble if that's an option you want. Sounds heavenly with clean tones – adds a sort of crystal presence without high-end shimmer – soft, gentle waves lapping at the shore on a warm, summer day. The only thing I don't like about it is that the stereo outs are entirely too close together. You won't get some patch cables in both outputs. Was wanting a chorus for my bass. The filter knobs work great for that. If you set the rate low and depth high. You get iconic flanging drone sounds. It's a boss pedal so has all of the great features all boss pedals have. I expect it to be around longer than I will. 10/10Unsubmitted

Great Klon clone. Lots of clean op-amp gain and enough boost on the other dial to take any clean amp from grit to saturation. This won't djent but it will do everything inbetween. I've modded mine with the JHS mods. Very easy to do and germanium clipping sounds much nicer and more authentic Klon imho. Some people say this is a boost and not an overdrive, they are wrong. It does both. The op amps in these are the same as the original Klon and have a huge amount of gain on tap. I can heavily distort a 1977 Ultra Linear Twin Reverb (4x6l6 bottles) with this easily! The buffer works well too and has a switch inside the pedal to do true bypass as an alternative.wozzlepop

I normally use a Big Muff (fuzz) but find it either all or nothing. Was looking for something more controllable and after playing with a wide range in store decided on the Soul Food. Has everything from subtle to full on overdrive. I also like the tone control as I often pair it with a CryBaby which seems to boost treble a bit too much, nice to be able to hold that back…Totally love it!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

I use the Soul Food as a clean boost on the recommendation of a GC employee in Nashua NH. I mentioned that I wanted a clean boost to my signal so that I could overdrive my amp a little more without having to change the gain I had setup. The Soul Food was recommended over a TS9, a Boss Overdrive and a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster. I am very happy with the Soul Food recommendation. The pedal is a great clean boost for my amp (Marshall TSL122). I put the pedal in the effect loop and set the pedal volume up to about 3:00 and the gain as zero, treble to taste (12:30). Then I dial in the effect loop percentage (its a parallel loop) and with the pedal engaged I get a nice, fat, sweet drive into the power amp section of the amp. This drives those big power tubes a little harder without having to turn up the volume. Thus, I get a heavier, fatter crunch compared to straight pre-amp distortion. This is the exact effect I was looking for. Now I have my pre-amp gain set pretty low and I typically drive most of my crunch from the power amp. Using the Soul Food in the effects loop in the manner in which I described, setup as such, I get what amounts to more 'power amp' crunch without having to dime the amp's volume. Of course with the pedal engaged the volume is louder but because the effects loop is being driven harder on the return, the signal going to the power amp is hotter, thus driving the power tubes harder, without having to open the amp volume any more than I have it set at. Even if this is not the preferred way to get more power amp distortion, using the Soul Food in this manner gives me the effect I want, and its sounds AWESOME, and that's really the bottom line. As a clean boost it works perfectly. I was not very impressed with the pedal's actual distortion, it sounded a little fuzzy to me. Maybe that what its supposed to sound like. I wanted it for the clean boost feature and the pedal works great for that. It came with a power supply, nice!DS

For a compact looper pedal this has, great features. The deal breaker is the circular led panel. While this pedal functions in a basic way the led tells you exactly what is happening and where you are in you loop. That knowledge makes me far more confident to use it live. You can end the playback and erase the loop silently or pause the playback and use it again – useful if a lead break is later in the song. You record the rhythm part, pause it and start it later on in the song. There options for adding extra pedal to control things but I found I got on OK without them. Basically a solid looper with a useful display that is, easy to read in a live situation. The trick to silently erase is to double tap and hold the second tap. Stops instantly and the erases a couple of seconds later – this isn't clear in the instructions.David M.

High value and quality! Maybe not for the touring professional who needs every bell and whistle, but for beginners or intermediates it's a really solid feature set and great quality at a price point that is just a hair over the price of some much more basic units. Spend the extra $20 and get a pedal you'll love! Loopers are super fun, this one is no exception. There is a learning curve but that's more on the player than the pedal. (If your timing/coordination are not on point, a looper, like any recording method, will really highlight that.) Would highly recommend to anyone interested in a looper for fun, creativity, practice, comping, improving over your own backing, even for pro use if you don't need the fanciest bells n' whistles.Steverino

Overall: Whether you're trying to dial in a wet surf rock reverb or an ambient shoegaze tone with lots of atmosphere, this pedal can do it all. This is hands down the best pedal I've ever purchased and far surpasses any other reverb pedal I've heard. You can even tweaked it to make it sound like a proper spring reverb unit on an old fender amp. There's also a handy shimmer effect you can use to get some angelic and synth-like tones, which can sound monolithic accompanied with a fuzz. I'd recommend this pedal for any style of playing, as it's one of the most versatile ones on the market right now. Also since it's Boss it's built like an absolute tank. Need quality slap back, surf, or shoegaze type reverb? This is the unit for you.Alex

I use a few different brands of pedals and Boss makes solid pedals. This rv6 pedal makes a great variety of reverbs that sound very good with cleans, on every setting. I play with a few different distortions. It is very difficult to dial in a good reverb sound with too much distortion. The level setting has to be low and the sensitivity of the effects are boosted and that makes it very hard to easily swap from clean to dirty without major changes. Dirty will require serious tweaking. I would give it a 3 star because it's not friendly to dirty, but I'll give it 4 stars just because the cleans really do sound great and the variety and quality of sounds are in a price range well below many other reverbs of this caliber. It's a BOSS, a tank. I did mess with the shimmer with crunch and low level and found some decent sounds.Ghostpuncher

I got this as a catch-all reverb to round out a basic pedal board I use for home practice and hobby recording. First off, all the "usual suspect" reverb tones sound really great in the effects loop of my Bogner Atma combo. I had read reviews of the RV6 where it had been criticized for sounding digital/grainy, but I preferred it over the Oceans and HOF2 I compared it to. I classify myself as a somewhat fussy "toan snob" who still prefers tubes and analog, so I wonder if maybe that "digital/grainy" complaint was with it going straight in, out in front of the preamp. I'll have to get around to trying it like an outboard spring verb sometime. I really dig the shimmer verb, especially with a flanged, overdriven lead tone. I need to get an expression pedal now and play around with oscillating that! Last thing I want to compliment is the helpful buffer the Boss adds at the tail end of my board. I pretty much have no loss now. Kudos to Boss for yet another solid product!Lee B.

Having gone back and forth between digital / emulated effects and analog / practical effects, I decided to add a Small Clone to my pedalboard. If I had one complaint about the unit, it would be that it has a switch for two different depth settings instead of an adjustment pot. That said, when I plugged in I found that of the two settings available for depth there is one that suits me just fine. The pedal is very quiet, and does not color my tone in any way. True bypass is always an added benefit. Electro Harmonix builds these pedals to last, and I can’t see myself ever moving to another chorus pedal from this one. I’m in love. The Small Clone gives an awesome chorus effect to your sound! I always wanted that full warm grunge sound and so I figured why not put that icing on that cake and get the gear the legend himself used. The quality build is crisp, the sound I'm getting is satisfying and the price is pocket/wallet friendly!! I must say that I'm far from disappointment! As a solo acoustic finger style player, I was looking for a very subtle effect to enhance instrumental parts. I've owned other choruses in the past, and was skeptical at its rather large size and single control knob–and only a depth switch. I was pleasantly surprised. I run depth on high, the control knob on low, and get a nice fat–but subtle-melodic sound from my Martin. I haven't experimented with it much, since I'm so pleased with this setting. Good value, well made-though perhaps rather 20th century style–and USA made. Just what I wanted for a slightly different sound to bounce between my vocal parts and instrumental/lead parts. The foot switch is loud, but not enough to affect my performance. All in all, very pleased.2 birds

Overall: This is a heavy duty pedal with so many different great sounding amps and effects that I don't even know where to start. Well built is an understatement. The build of it screams professional. from the chassis to the knobs and expression pedal this thing feels Pro in every way.The amps are fewer than most companies offer but BOSS went the quality over quantity route here. From crystalline cleans to all out brutal and everything in between. The drives are excellent and so are the modulations, delays, and reverbs. I find them superior to my Helix actually. There's not enough room in this review box for me to go over everything I love. A couple things I do not love..There's no poly pitch in this unit. The assigns can be confusing at times especially when it comes to assigning the expression pedal. It was ok once I wrapped my head around it but it was definitely and obstacle I had to overcome. Overall this unit is well worth the 599 price tag. I have owned many modeling units for many years and this is one of the best I have had.Robert

I wanted a high-quality transparent OD and have tried a few different varieties. I had seen a ton of good reviews and watched Josh's YouTube vids about this many times, so I decided to try it out. I tested this with some random Tele + Marshall combo amp in the store and I thought it was pretty nice. I got it home and tested with my own Tele and Fender Bassbreaker 007 (my main recording amp, which they did not have in the store) and it was…awful. It had gritty, annoying tone, even with the high-cut filter on. I tried tweaking the controls for a what seemed like hours and simply could not get a good tone out of it. I A/B'd this with my current favorite OD, an old (vintage?) Danelectro Daddy-O, and much preferred the Daddy-O. So while this pedal has great features, looks cool, and is built well, what matters is the tone, and that tone might not fit your guitar/amp combo. Sorry Josh!Seth

Believe the hype. This is the first gain stage in my chain and gives the wonderful chime and sparkle transparency it's known for regardless of what amp I'm using. I more or less have the MG's controls all set at 12 o'clock and I always like to have my amps set of the edge of breakup. I stack the pedal into my RYRA Klone (set as a clean boost) and the tone is amazing, and the MG is especially versatile when I use the red remote to switch between it's two gain settings. It can achieve some searing lead tones/nice saturated heft for chords while still retaining definition and clarity in this context – ideal for my uses. I'm currently waiting on an EQD Plumes to arrive and I can't wait to stack it with the MG and see what tones I can dial in, but I image the MG will work extremely well with any drive/distortion/fuzz you care to mention. 10/10Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

One of the best delay pedals I've owned. The stereo separation is really good. Not just a ping pong either. The delays can wash between speakers creating a 3D ambient atmosphere you could get lost in. Like the Ventris it's best used in stereo and with a MIDI controller, and the Neuro App to edit. Another great effects pedal from BOSS. The DD-7 is quite like a 'Swiss-Army-Knife' in the realm of compact delay pedals. Built with the standard of quality that BOSS is known for. The delay range is amazingly vast from 1ms to 6.4 seconds, plus a 40 second looper, as well as assorted delay types like modulation, analog and reverse. I haven't purchased a Boss delay for years. I did buy a DM-2 Waza to retire my vintage unit. I've just always been an analog delay guy. However, I bought the DD-8 on a whim because I needed a delay for a project that required some specific sounds. Namely a stereo reverse delay sound. I figured I'd give this one a try. This is a home run pedal. Every notch on the mode knob yielded usable and inspiring delays. The only part that I haven't used is the looper but if it works like the other modes, I'm sure it's excellent. No regrets here on this one. It might even knock a Strymon delay off of my main board.JV

Really delivers a lot for the price point. I wanted a delay to do nearly everything and do it well, and this does it. I'm more of a digi, tape & analog delay user, and I don't care much for the more "out there" options, but they are fun to mess with. I use this in mono 99% of the time, so my only gripe against the pedal doesn't really matter much at all. I wish it had a wider stereo field and wish it had a ping pong options in settings, but again, I use it in mono mostly, so no big deal. The DD-200 is super easy to dial in and presets work simply. I like that it has a dedicated Manual mode so I can just use it without worrying about presets. Awesome delay.KC

Sound: I’m really happy with the sound pallet available on the SY-1. You can get Metheny style saw wave/string style leads, several organ sounds, Bladerunner basses etc. It’s got a lot of 80’s synth vibe to it. The sound editing is somewhat limited yes, but that’s exactly why I went back to the SY1 from the other synth pedals I tried. Sound for sound, I found the SY1 had the most usable sounds for my style. Pair it up with some chorus, delay, and long decay reverb and it is capable of sounding incredible. Features: By far the best feature to me is that everything you need to make/change sounds is on the top. No PC editor required. While it does limit the capabilities it’s also much easier for an old guy like me to get musical sounds out of it without breaking out a manual or re-learning everything I have forgotten about synths LFO’s and filters from the '80s. Ease of Use: Very easy to use. Plug it in, turn some knobs until you smile. Pair it with an expression pedal for even more fun things to do. Quality: It’s Boss. It’s built like a tank. If zombies rush the stage it could be used as a weapon. Clean it up, plug it back in, and keep playing. Value: When compared to similar offerings from Source Audio, Meris, EHX, I think the SY1 is a fair value. A bit less functionality but what you get instead is easy access to usable sounds for a few bucks less. Manufacturer Support: In the 40 years I’ve been using Boss I’ve only contacted them once. No issues. The Wow Factor: Synth pedals aren’t for everyone, sure. But for that occasional something different on a lead or just for tooling around over ambient soundscapes they can be a lot of fun. Overall: I would consider myself your garden variety guitar player. I play rhythm and lead in a rock cover band and do some ambient and prog stuff on my own and this fits right in with the rest of the gear on my pedalboard. I’ve tried a few other guitar synth pedals from Boss, Meris, and Source Audio and ended up going back to this one because it fits my style and needs the best. The tracking is very, very good. In my humble opinion it tracks better than the C4. I’m not Alex Hutchings but I can play moderately fast and it keeps up with no issues. Compared to other synth pedals this is much more straightforward but also much more limited in sounds. It’s very 80’s vs some of the more experimental sounds you can get out of the others, but that’s what I was looking for. If you are looking for bleeps and boops sounds or want deep editing, this pedal probably isn’t for you. If you are looking for a more traditional GR style sounding synth then this is definitely worth checking out.Allan

This is a very enjoyable pedal. Would I recommend it, and is it good value? That depends on your expectations. It benefits from being used in conjunction with other pedals as on there own some of the synth tones are very dry and digital. I feed an overdrive into it, and a light reverb after. Adding fuzz to the effects loop also adds to make the overall effect more massive. That being said, I have struggled to find tones that I can use with my (rock) band in a live setting, and I was hoping it would enhance/thicken up my sound. The variations and possibilities are so vast that the sound(s) I am looking for may well still be out there…more fooling around in the bedroom required…ooer!pepsimax360

I have rarely relied on a loop machine in my 33+ years of performing music. I've had a DigiTec JamMan for a long time but found it too difficult to co-ordinate short phrases into a piece. I used it more with sampling of ambient sound than musical phrases. I've only had the Boss RC-500 for a short time but already find it much easier to use. I haven't even experimented with the percussion aspects but I can see great possibilities. I'm a great fan of Boss and Roland. They make quality , well thought out, aids for musical expression. Have not used it live yet. Still getting friendly with it. There are a lot of rhythm patterns to choose from but many of them are very similar. Some of the functions I would have thought would be accessible through MIDI are not, but there are ways to work around most of them. Overall it seems like a great unit for a moderate price. The sound quality is very good. One disappointment is that I had the impression you could download rhythm patterns to replace the ones you don't care to use – you can't download them as rhythms, only as backing tracks. Look for the reference manual (not the owners manual) and study it before you buy if you have specific expectations.Glenn K

I decided to buy a looper last year to use primarily for practice, and for easily capturing ideas and riffs. I settled on the Boss RC-1 and it performed great. The biggest limitation was only being able to capture one idea at a time. I started looking around for something with more memory locations and I found the RC-5 as an upgrade. I am blown away by the included drums and the device's ability to determine the tempo. As a tool for capturing multiple ideas and being able to back them up to a PC, this is perfect. I haven't tested the midi capability yet. I could easily see using this in an actual performance in the future. It's pedalboard-friendly size makes it very easy to carry around.Joe G

I'm glad I decided to give this pedal a try. It's extremely versatile, but did take a little bit of time to find the sound that I wanted. With this pedal, you can achieve everything from a clean boost, to a soft clipping blues drive, to full on distortion if need be as the higher gain settings straddle the line between overdrive and distortion. It can even get a bit fuzzy at times depending on your settings. For me, I'm playing through a Fender '59 Bassman ltd. set to the edge of breakup (about 5 or 6) so I use this pedal on the low gain setting to push the front end and achieve a sweet blues/classic rock sound, and when I need that extra volume/top end push for solos I have the boost function right there! Honestly, that's one of the main things that attracted me to this pedal in the first place since I couldn't decide whether to get an overdrive or a boost. The solution being one pedal that does both very well! I would definitely recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a quality dirt box as this can give you the sounds you want for almost any style of music you play. Whether it's blues, rock, country, even metal (except maybe djent), this thing can handle it!Mpifer

I absolutely love this pedal. Sounds amazing and is built like a tank. I bought this pedal for a covers gig of mainly marshall style guitar music. My amp is a Swart Atomic Space Tone Pro (6V6 tubes) and I wanted to get a mix of low gain to cranked Marshall sounds from it – it's a great amp but will not do the marshall thing by itself. I tried using a Sansamp GT2 which I had lying around but it just wasn't getting me there – far too scooped with no way near enough midrange. Seconds after plugging in the La Grange I was hearing all the sounds I'd been looking for. It blends very well with the pokey midrange of the Swart but I think would be even better through a Fender Twin. In practice I mainly used the Medium gain setting, whilst rolling back the volume on the guitar for cleaner sounds. With the the La Grange on Medium I was able to dial in the perfect gain for the earlier rock styles (AC/DC, early Aerosmith etc) but a quick switch to the high gain setting and I was in Van Halen/RATT territory. As stated in many videos online this is not a high gain monster and you can't get to JCM 900/SL territory…but that's not why you're buying this pedal. It's fat and ballsy with lots of midrange oomph. I'm sure the La Grange could get a little hotter with a boost pedal behind it – something I still need to test. This things cleans up really well with the guitar volume knob and there's a huge about of volume and gain on tap with the Boost circuit engaged, which I found great for solos and actually gives that early Angus lead sound. The eq on this pedal is quite interesting as there's no Treble, Middle or Bass. However, between the Tone, Presence and Ch. Blend controls it's super easy to dial it in. The Tone knob is super sensitive so I found only slight adjustments from 12 O'Clock were required. I haven't tried the expression pedal input but I can imagine this being very useful especially if you're playing a wide variety of styles. Personally found the Variac mode a little saggy for my taste. The Swart, when pushed already has enough sag so not required for me. The only thing I'd change on this pedal is to make the knobs a little tighter. I find that they can get knocked very easily, but as long as you know where they're supposed to be it's not an issue. This is a great pedal, worth the money. I found it works best with a great clean amp – think Marshall non-master volume, Fender twin etc. Set up your amp with a great clean/rhythm sound. Then dial in the LaGrange for all your dirty work. IF you really spend some time dialing it in, you can get even more versatility out of it by reaching down and flipping some of the switches on the fly, or for whatever song might be coming up next in your set. It's responsive to guitar volume changes, just like a good Plexi. The clean boost switch is super welcome, too. Variac setting seems to work best with single coil guitars. Over-all, it's like adding another great channel to single channel amps. Would probably work great with power block type amps that mount to your pedal board.PrestoStark

I have an Xotic AC Booster and it is one of my fav pedals. At the start of my chain – after the buffer – I have a Compressor, then an old DOD Preamp 250, followed by my AC. I like the sound, but had this setup for a while and was just looking to shake things up. I thought the RC ver 2 would be a great replacement for the DOD as what could be better than 2 xotics in series? Well, not this! The Comp (Wampler Ego; another pedal I like alot) did not play well with the RC. The sound was muddy and lost all definition. The RC alone was OK, but not great. Found the effect of Gain 1 to be pretty darn subtle and really not much better than my old DOD gain pedal. Had to crank RC Gain 1 to full CW to hear much – a very different pedal from the AC which is super responsive. I also found the adjustment for the RC Gain 2 pot to be very awkward for a quick adjustment onstage as is occasionally necessary between songs. So, I was pretty bummed out as I love the AC and I use an Xotic EP booster for regular lead boosts. Just did not work out for me. Hard to decide if I would recommend the RC. Personally, I am very picky about effects, usually use only 2 at most at one time (e.g. Comp + AC; EQ + Delay, etc.) . So I think i would say that I do not recommend…but you may like it.BCY123

I'm surprised at how much I use this pedal. I bought it to boost the signal of passive basses and it does that and a lot more. The EQ points are right where you need them. And because you can preset those as well as the volume, when you switch to a passive bass in the middle of a live performance there is no time wasted fiddling with knobs trying to match the sound of your active bass. Also it's useful as a clean boost on active basses for those times when your hands are busy and you can't adjust your amp in the middle of a song. Just pre-set the pedal to a little boost and any time you need it, you've got it with a quick stomp of the foot. The third use I find for this pedal is with effects. You can use it to put a little boost before any overdrive/distortion pedal it will increase the gain. I love this because I like the sound of the Morning Glory pedal, but it doesn't get quite dirty enough. Most pedals that get as dirty as I want don't sound the way the Morning Glory does so this is perfect for me. And the other way it's useful is to add bottom end to distortion pedals (which are famous for not supporting the low end very well). Preset a little bass boost and when you stomp the overdrive/distortion pedal also click on the Xotic RC.PDGood

Fantastic delay and reverb sounds for a very reasonable price. NUX are making some great pedals these days and this one is up there. The algorithms used for the pedal are crystal clear and not digital sounding meaning you get a very natural rendition of the effects. Definitely worth checking out if you dont want to spend big bucks on the boutique style pedals and punches way above its weight. Highly recommendedpaba_7157

The NUX Atlantic is a surprisingly great pedal! Solid build quality, great sound, and awesome routing options. I personally love the 60’s style tape delay and the fact that it has “smart tap” is great in gig settings, just tap in the tempo no need to hold! I also really love the reverbs on here, they’re done surprisingly well and have freeze/shimmer function. Amazing. Lastly the routing options are stellar. You can run a stereo or mono out in parallel mode or in series (in which you can set the effect that comes first). I mainly play R&B/fusion along with multiple other styles and this thing is very versatile. Will be a mainstay on my board!EZRAKH

I've tried many dual Delay-Reverb pedals and this is certainly among the best and is a better value than any of them. Great tones with just enough options and parameters to quickly dial in the sounds you want. The Smart Tap feature works perfectly – why don't more pedals work that way. Like most NuX pedals, there are tons of features here including the ability to select which effect is first in series, whether they run in parallel or series, line or guitar pedal level switch, USB connection for Firmware upgrades. Using the two effects in the parallel mode is exactly what I needed. This sounds clear and great either in the front of an amp or in the effects loop. A lot of units are either dull or overload when in the effects loop – and the Atlantic has none of those issues. Watch videos of the power users for this to learn all the great features and sounds it creates. Finally: NuX has great firmware support for their pedals. Don't overlook that feature. In a lot of cases, NuX will roll out many additional features over time and it's free to update your pedal. Who else does that for gear in this price range?! Overall: First- I own the Nemesis delay one as well as a TC alter ego x4 and TC HOF Reverb: When I first fired this up I was wowed by the shimmer and edome reverb but after diving in I found that none of the reverbs are warm in the slightest sense. Even adjusting the tone knob would not warm up any of the types of reverb. Delays: not even close to either my nemesis or TC alter ego x4. Once again the delays sounded thin with a high end shimmer to every type that I could not dial out. User interface: very frustrating to use in stand alone non app mode. You need to remember to switch over what you want to control. If you are adjusting kets say reverb mix level and do not save it and then go to adjust delay, the reverb looses its settings etc. App- my LG phone would not work with this unit. Works fine on my Nemesis. PC app: plugging this into your computer generates so much noise that its not possible to hear your guitar while making adjustments. The PC app has very limited capabilities so if your phone app wont work youre just out of luck. Over all I say a hard pass on this. It would have saved so much room. Bummer.Ty

I have a Line 6 HX FX and it supports my needs for the most part. But the Reverb and Delays are very lacking. That's where the Collider comes in. The 56 bit engines for each effect makes this pedal a great pedal when it comes to reverb and or delays. The controls couldn't be more simple to adjust, and the toggle switch controlling which controls do what is a nice touch. Full MIDI implementation makes this pedal work with any setup. You can run Delay+Reverb at the same time in series, parallel, or run 2 delays or 2 reverbs at the same if you like. I have had the pedal for a month and it continues to surprise me in the tones. The software app for PC/MAC and Android/ios allows even more versatility and fine tuning, including sharing presets. Although I heard great sound samples of the pedal, it exceeds my expectations in ease of use and tone. The big pluses for me is the sound, and the ease to make great pre-sets.Dave

First of all you can’t go wrong with any Source Audio gear. This pedal will become your favorite reverb, delay. As soon as you plug it in you’ll hear some amazing tone with out digging deep into the manual. I do recommend you look the manual over, because this masterpiece of a pedal has some hidden features. You can use 2 delays at the same time or 2 reverbs. The pedal is designed perfectly. The knobs are labeled so even a bass player could figure it out. Now the tones, I could go on and on about how great it sounds, but if you are reading this you already know that. This is far from one trick pony. The selections of Reverbs & Delays and the way you can manipulate the sounds will give your playing a new Avenue or your might find your sound in it.Huey Falls

me = 30+ years making music and 10+ years using hardware and software loopers this thing is fabulous! the ability to split output signal to guitar cab / full range for optimal sound quality is huge! I am running the loop channel of the RC-10R in the effect loop of my guitar amp and the rhythm channel out to a KC-600 keyboard amp. sounds good to me. nice layout, solid feel to the knobs, and the standard built-like-a-tank boss pedal construction. easy to navigate the relatively simple menu system plus easy to operate the pedal once you've spent a little time with it. the rhythm tracks sound good and perform as advertised. I dialed up a funky boogaloo rhythm, recorded a rhythm part loop, then lost myself in a lydian improv for about a half hour when I first got down with it. works for me! a review of the midi implementation shows that it will play well with my other midi gear or computer rig if I decide I want to go there with it. the ability to import my own loops will quickly have me jamming to tracks that are truly of my own taste and the included rhythm tracks are what they are expected to be: a simple and solid representation of many musical genres. I do have a wish-list item that could possibly be addressed in a software update: it would be nice to be able to choose whether sync'ed loop recording begins immediately after the count-in (this is how it behaves now) or waits for a pedal touch punch-in to begin recording the quantized loop (this would be nice). all-in-all I am very happy with this looper and am impressed by what roland and boss have been putting out recently. to me they've always been a company that really understands what musicians want and what I've seen lately across their product lines is really, really impressive. my compliments to all the good people at roland/boss that are making these cool products happen for us.MattD

This thing is great!! Syncs automatically with the push and hold of the rhythm switch! So easy to use. I don't know what these other reviews are doing but this thing is a God send for guitarist. So many beats to choose from. You can pick from 16 different drum kits to play them! 808+909 sounds too! Every a reverb for the drums. The looper is Boss. So you it's good. 6 hours is what you get. 99 slots to save loops. It has a 2 loop/rhythm function that makes it so you have a 2 part loop. More like a song then just a loop. The fills are a littler boring/mechanical. Only 2 per patch. Can use drum machine alone without a recorded loop. Just to jam. Or, just the loop for acoustic stuff etc…. I'm buying a second one for my electric board! Ditched my BB and Rc5. This Rc10r just syncs better then the bb and Rc5. It's a better package for me. Smaller too! I cant say enough about this thing. Buy one NOW!! You will become a better player GUARANTEED!!!William

This is a remarkable pedal. It has a lovely warm analogue sound, yet its digital. Some digital delays seem harsh but not this one. It has both delay and reverb, and what I like alot is how usable the full range of controls are without getting into those weird self oscillations. The controls are quite intuitive, and easy to dial between reverb vs delay and any blend in between. There's a reverb feature that many rave about…. and thats with 'time' at zero, and 'repeats' dialled up. And for good reason. Try it. It doesn't have tap tempo, trails or stereo. But the sound quality and versatility in getting the basics right make it a worthwhile no-gimmicks pedal. Does a fine job on both acoustic and electric guitars.Craig

The best reverb/delay pedal so far. If you need to save some space in your pedalboard and you want the best quality stomp effect then go for it. Digital toy which sounds like full analog circut. I have had TC Electronics, Electro Harmonix etc. and all those units can not compare to the Earthquakerhoganmw

I dont understand what all the fuss is about. I bought it after hearing this was everyones desert island pedal. Mine was noisy beyond usability. Maybe I got a bad one. But some online research indicates its noisy at higher settings in particular (I see similar comments about the Wampler Etheral, so maybe its a problem with this kind of pedal, I dont know). Reverb and delay sounds are decent, but average. Maybe because of the noise I didnt have the chance to explore [what many claim are] the wonderful interactions between the two effects. I sent it back. I ended up buying a cheap Joyo reverb (based on praise from Josh in a JHS video), and pairing it with a cheap Donner delay. I have more options than the EarthQuaker, and for my use its just fine. Im sorry this was my first experience with EQD, because it seems like they do some really creative stuff, and interviews with the owner are incredibly compelling. Seems like a great guy. Maybe next time.matthewb480
