Went together quickly with a brad tacker and a few clamps. Lined the inside with foam panels and installed Eminence Ca 10 – 8 ohm drivers.This cab is for bass guitar , Fantastic bottom end from this set up. I usually play with a pair of 15's but this keeps up with anything I can through at it.Randy

I think for the money, you can't get any better than this. The fit up was near perfect. This was my first attempt at building a cab and this kit along with the other available components on this site made it easy. I was skeptical about how it would sound but once I fired it up, I knew I made a good choice. Only thing that could improve this would be 13 ply. But that would also probably drive up cost. I also had to round off the edges myself. For someone without a router, having the edges already rounded may benefit this kit.mike

Very impressive construction. The only (minor) problem is the mounting hardware for the speakers do not line up with the EMINENCE speakers I put in. It's only a minor problem because TWO of four positions on the speakers DO line up and hold the speakers firmly in place. Very well built, great price, quick delivery time. Well done.James T.

The Quality is Excellent. I paid the high price figuring I was helping a small American company make it thru these Covid times. I was looking for a horizontal 212 cab and found your company. This thing is great!!!! I installed a couple of speakers I had and it matches my guitar head just great!! Quality built and should stand a lifetime of playing. Price was right also. I could not have built one any cheaper that looks this good. Parts arrived OK. I had no glue clamps so I brushed Elmers white glue on mating surfaces, except for the front baffle, and put the pieces together. I "clamped" them with 4 – 5 wraps of thick clear packing tape. Two wraps placed on the long side, one one each short side, and let it dry overnight. (Made sure there was no glue on the front, as I plan to CNC route the baffle later for recessing the woofer.) I pulled the tape very hard to get a tight bond. It worked fine.chris

Excellent product. 3/4" thick with very tight tolerances. Rabbet joints to facilitate easy assembly and clamping. The MDF is very dense and can accept coarse thread screws, such as those designed for holding speaker drivers.Philip

These cabinets are fabulous. Very accurate cnc work and easy to assemble. They get a little banged up in shipping but nothing a little sanding won't take care of. I really like these. Saves a lot of time and effort. Well worth the money.Aaron

I recently received a 1×12 speaker cab and I am impressed with the entire experience. The ordering process was easy, the price was right and the build quality of the cabinet is great. My only criticism is that the product description is generic. I was surprised to receive an open back cabinet. I bought this cabinet with the intention of beefing up my Hot Rod deluxe which it did. The combination of closed back from this cabinet and the open back of the deluxe resulted in a much more richer sound not to mention that at 4 ohms with the cabinet the amp seems to be more responsive to my playing. It also looks cool sitting under the Hot Rod Deluxe III. It not only sounds great with the Hot Rod but with my 30 watt PRS amp head, a Quilter 200 and boy was I surprised when I plugged in my Mesa Mark IV. Awesome little cabinet for the money. This was bought to add an extension cabinet to my mesa boogie nomad 100. My nomad was a single 12 speaker with an open back cab and needed a little more bass. the sealed fender cabinet was the exact same dimensions and fits nicely under the boogie. Sound was as I expected, bass increase as well as a tight sound from the closed back cabinet. Also raised the nomad to a better overall height. Very happy with my purchase. I did not give it 5 stars for several reasons. 1) made in Mexico which I expected for the price but that is the problem! Speaker jack fell out of the back of the cabinet when I removed the cable. Compared to yesteryear and I have owned a lot of fender equipment construction was much better. To repair the speaker jack and not go through returning the cabinet I opened the back to see what holds the jack in place. Half the screws used to seal the back of the cabinet were to short and already stripped out. There were two different length screws used and none were long enough to do the job properly! They were #6 wood screws so a trip to Lowes for proper hardware about 8 duckets worth of new fasteners (went to #8 wood screws and new finishing washers) took care of the problem. The jack is another issue that will require a large fender washer and a new jack with longer threads. about 6 duckets in hardware to repair properly. The strips of wood that hold the back on are only pressed wood and one side was spilt open from not predrilling holes and forcing the screws to create there own holes when installed. This is a time saver at the factory but poor practice in my opinion! The front baffle that holds the speaker in place was held in with 6 bolts, nuts and washers. All were loose and if I did not retighten these the vibration from the speaker would have caused these all to come apart! So over all construction was less then stellar and about what I expected for the price. Still final quality checks should have caught all of this on the assembly line.Strat Blaster

I bought this to go with a Tone King Gremlin head. I figured a fender speaker would pair well with a fender clone amp. The enclosure is quite nice. The speaker however is not. I did read the poor reviews the celestion 70/80 gets online, they are spot on. This speaker is so shrill I felt like my ears were going to bleed. It has a pronounced mid scoop. Instead of returning I decided I like the fender box enough ( and the reasonable price compared to others ) and bought a different speaker. After swapping the 70/80 with a Eminence Cannabis rex, it really sounds great.Josh B

SO, I have found that if you spend tens of hours on a reference type, perfect flat frequency mathematically correct, highly thought out medium to large speakers you've spent an untold amount of thought on— he response from the laymen (and this is not heir fault) will inevitably be: "Oh these are beautiful!" Because they don't understand the work that goes into anything beyond the actual construction. Most people are just fine with a battery powered Bluetooth speaker with two 3" full range drivers in it. They don't even know how good their favorite songs can sound. So start them small. Get these little guys and pick a tweeter and good mid-range that can reach a little lower than the rest, design the proper crossover and assemble a small pair of amazing desktops. INCLUDE THE PROPER AMP. People not only appreciate something you made yourself more than some Bed Bath and Beyond towels. Be impressive with the finish so they're cool to look at. I'm not saying you should try this, but I got "impressive finish" by utilizing a friend who does body work on cars. I got him to paint these little cabinets with candy apple red car paint finish. Thy looked like no other speakers for sale in the world. And sounded better than any speaker that small. I won Christmas, hands down. The only problem is, now I get requests. I've built "beginner" (8") sub-woofers in the ensuing years, larger "bookshelf" type pairs (twice) and this year, I am already working on a pair of MTM towers. I have found that I am totally addicted to building speakers…. but there are only so many rooms in my house for my creations. Once I put hidden speakers inside the bathroom vanity that played rainstorm sounds when a motion detector "sees" someone enter the room, my wife called a moratorium on sound in every room. "If I find an active sound system in a closet, I am calling a lawyer." (We have a sick sense of humor) The point is, these little guys can turn into a million useful projects. You can power them with small amps and make them computer speakers. You can hook them up to a bedroom TV for way superior sound. Want some garage speakers? Perfect. Kitchen counter? Basement workshop? All the places floor towers would be a little much, these little guys are perfect. And if you're feeling ambitions, use them as rear speakers in a surround. Or put a total of four in a room for some pseudo quadraphonic experience. Great beginner stuff here that won't break the bank. If you royally screw these up… it's not like you burned $1500. Any amount of money wasted sucks, but it's a whole lot better to learn on an inexpensive idea than on some grand 7.1 multi thousand dollar idea you may not be completely ready for.Spaker

WARNING: Buying this pair of desktop sized speaker cabinets is addictive. It's cheap and easy and saves so much time and effort, these are beyond worth the price. If it's a process for you to get out the table saw, cut off some MDF you have stowed away, get out the router, make a mess by cutting and routing, clean it up- and then begin your build: BUY THESE. Sure, I build my own cabinets all the time. Floor standing, big bookshelf, small bookshelf, speakers made for stands, speakers I designed that need a very specific cabinet volume: big projects I spend a bunch of dough on for big results. That's not what these are for. These are for making a pair of computer speakers to give to your brother. These are for your teenage daughter's bedroom. These are for the kitchen counter. Tiny, out of the way little guys. And most of all, these are cabinets for the pile of small tweeters and 3-4" woofers you have lying around from sales and buyouts and removing them from god knows where. These are for designing a 4 component crossover because you need practice. These are for experimentation because you WANT practice.They slap together in minutes and because they are cut by space alien lasers, they fit to the millimeter. People say you can use masking tape to "clamp" them together the fit is so perfect.Most holes for woofers you'd be able to fit in this cabinet can be cut with a hole saw on a drill. Some tweeters you can cut holes for with a spade bit on a drill.You can buy a tiny amp board and throw it in one of the cabinets to make them powered- so if they are for the kitchen counter or your daughter's bedroom, all the user has to do is plug in their phone/ laptop/ tablet to the input jack you drilled a hole for and glued into place.Maybe you want to try out some finishes for cabinets but don't want to experiment on those floor cabinets that took you two days to design, buy the materials for, mark , double check, cut, and router. Use these instead.I've had amazing luck doing these up and giving them away as gifts. Paint them your nephews favorite color and put decals of his favorite football team logo on the sides. Give a pair to the receptionist at your office who does EVERYTHING. Make a pair for your Mom's kitchen. Don't forget the teenage daughter. The "powered" units are always a hit and super easy to do with the Dayton Audio DTA-2 (Part 300-385). It even has a knob for power and volume, and if you line up the board right, you won't even have to wire up jacks for power and input (but you probably should).THE PLAN:Three (short) nights work (the only reason I say multiple nights is because it takes time for glue and paint to dry):PREWORK (if necessary): Lay out the panels and spray paint with primer if you plan to paint them later. This should take ten minutes. Finish work can take minutes or add days to any project. Out of your dozen or so traditional speaker cabinet covering / finishing options for MDF, Spray paint is the fastest and if you practice, you can make really nice looking stuff using MDF. Spray paint primer dries to the touch in about an hour and a half. It's not absolutely necessary, but if you are spray painting, you want it to "POP!" And starting with a uniform, white base is how to do it right. But again, you don't HAVE to.First night: Drill/ router your driver holes in the baffles and sand lightly. Spend 15 minutes gluing the pair together and clamping them.Night Two: Paint a coat of finish. While that dries, solder together your amp board and make sure it works. Assemble the crossover, making sure it will fit through the largest driver hole Hit the cabinets with your paint again before you go to bed.Night three: The "NO RUSHING" night. Put crossover inside cabinets, glue it down. Install amp board, volume knob, input and power jack- drill holes for each.* Wire amp board to crossover. *Wire drivers to crossovers, screw in drivers. Plug in music and listen. Give them away and blow your brother's mind.*You can wire it all up before installation if a) you want to, b) the driver hole is tiny and it will be too hard to get at anything once it is installed, or c) to make sure it all works before anything is screwed or glued. Mocking everything up while free from glue or screwing down is always a good idea. This is the "NO RUSH" night. It might take you an hour, it might take you three. It all depends on how things go, if everything works as expected, if you've made an "ooops!" and have to engineer a fix: the unforeseen is always the builders worst enemy. Plan on at least one thing being "wrong," having to troubleshoot and find your mistake, design a fix, and implement it.Things you might learn: How to match a woofer and tweeter. How to use an online crossover calculator. What a resistor, capacitor and inductor does. How loud 15 watts per channel really is. How to use a router. How to use a drill/ hole saw. How to solder. Properties of power voltage and amperage. How to wire an input stereo jack. How to wirSpaker

These speaker cabinets are good quality. Once you assemble them correctly, they glue together with wood glue. No nails are necessary.One needs to hold them in your had for a minute or two after gluing, making sure all edges stay aligned properly.I installed the Fountek FE83 3 inch speaker. Once finished, they work very well with my 2.1 sound system for my TV. The speaking voices are very well defined and music down to about 150 Hertz has a very good sound. This is a low distortion system. I do have a sub woofer with these speakers to fill out the lower frequencies.I normally do not turn on the sub woofer except for music or movies. This system is a bargain at these prices.Tangocal

First of all I have not done the glue up yet but have dry assembled them and am REALLY impressed with the CNC cuts and tight fit. I already have plans for MORE Denovo cabs but need to slow down and finish this one. I think Denovo flat packs are perfect for the DIY guy just getting started or for the more advanced who is maybe more interested in crossover design etc rather than woodworking. A GREAT product and will be matched with a point source Dayton Audio driver for a relatively easy first build.Robert

If you have an 18gauge brad nailer, then you won't need any clamps to glue these together. The fit is impeccable too! How could they be better? Only if they were made of Baltic Birch would they be better IMO. Routing MDF for speakers leaves a very find and toxic powder.Stephen

All the pieces fit very well. I would not recommend making a 5" diameter cutout with a jigsaw, it's too tight for 3/4" thick material. Use a router. It's a great deal considering all the time saved not having to cut all the pieces.Tony

I bought this speaker cabinet to complete a stack (of sorts). I bought a Peavey 50 watt amp that has 4 X 10 inch speakers in its cabinet. I like the classic look, but I like the versatility of the amp. An alternate version of this amp has a 2 X 12 inch speaker option. So, I thought that this cabinet with its 2 X 12 inch Celestion speakers could be an alternative speaker set up, when the 4 X 10 inch set up was disconnected and it is plugged into the output. The is also an extension speaker output with this amp, so both sets of speakers can be connected to the amp at the same time, if desired. So, this is suppose to be about this speaker cabinet, and the bottom line is that it is a good overall unit, and has a classic vibe with the tweed exterior covering. I was more interested in the speakers that were in this unit, which happen to be Celestions. They work well with the amp. I think that it depends on the venue as to how to set the amp and speakers up. The other thing that I should mention is that the 2 X 12 speaker cabinet can be separated from the combo amp and there can be a broader sound spectrum. I will say that I was a bit concerned about the unit being made in Vietnam, but, the quality control is very good and the unit will be around for several years.Noone

Mostly using this for studio applications. It comes standard with one g12 t75 and a vintage 30. I've been using a fathead and a 57 on each speaker. 4 mics on that cab literally sounds like I have two different cabs in the other room and they sound awesome. None of the speaker mounting holes would line-up!!! I was using Celestion speakers too!!! I had to fill all the holes, re drill them in the correct place and re install all the hardware!!! This has got to be one of the best hidden gems out there, for the music world. If you are a “Name Brand” shopper, who would rather pay 3-5 times the price, for an unloaded speaker cabinet, that has no clue where the cabinet came from, or what country the customer support team is located in, then this is not for you. For everyone else, I promise you, you cannot beat this Memphis based company. They are the best. I submitted a question, through the support link, and had a response in less then 48 hours (and this was during the Christmas rush. Compared to another “Name Brand” loaded 2×12 cabinet that I own, that cost $150.00, more is an ok box. But I’ve turned around and have almost $200.00, in new speakers to put in it. Now I wish I would have ordered another unloaded cabinet. But, live and learn, because after putting the speakers I want, in this cabinet, my total price will be about $30-40, more than the loaded box. For a 2×12 this cabinet is fairly light. It would benefit from a top strap handle as the side handles make it awkward to carry. SOUND IS OK AND CONSTRUCTION IS SIMPLE. The input jack is cheap.800TH

This is the best 12" cabinet you can buy at this price range. It's well built, looks good and sounds ok, but the first thing I did after playing it a couple of times is change the speaker to get the sound I was looking for. This cabinet comes with an un-branded, completely un-marked 12" speaker. It isn't marked as a Blue Marvel speaker as advertised. I suspected that would be the case when I bought it. The cabinet alone is worth the price, so that's why i bought it.jim7699

I realize some people complain about the Blue Marvel speaker it comes with, but it really sounds great with the cabinet. I play mostly small clubs, I use 2 of these with a Peavey head and works great. Tough, great value and does the job perfectly. Zero complaints. It's a Peavey. Good enough for me. There are better ones out there, but the differences are negligible. I'd be hard pressed to find someone in the audience who would say "but it's not loaded with a higher priced driver". That pretty much never happens in that environment. The amp produces some great sounds and this cabinet accurately does it's job. Why pay the extra $100 bucks for what only gear snobs say is better. This is the best deal you will find for an extended speaker cab of this quality hands down! The Vintage 30 speaker on its own is nearly $150 at most places, making the cabinet so cheap for this unit that you cannot even build your own for less money. The cabinet is gig worthy and is wired for a parallel speaker extension…however the soft vinyl covering, which looks nice, could possibly damage easy over time (*one and only complaint). I am extremely happy with the build quality and the sound of this 12" speaker with the open back cab perfectly fills out a missing niche in my speaker stack. At this price point you will not find a better value anywhere. Highly recommended!Stephen

I bought this cabinet to scale down my live rig and man does this thing sound great! I’ve used it with my orange micro terror and as a speaker extension for my Marshall valvestate head. The sound is warm with great bass response and lovely overtones when playing clean. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on the look and sound and for the price you can’t go wrong!CT

Very disappointed in this cabinet. It looks good paired with my Origin 20 head, but that’s about it. Very harsh treble, no bottom end thump whatsoever, and really mid-rangey. I’ve had it for almost a year, and the tolex is peeling off. My Origin amp head sounds better with anything else than this. Now it just sits there unused in our rehearsal space. I really like the vertical 2×12 design because the bottom is robust, but it is balanced by the angled top that directs the sound waves towards the ears. The speakers sound great, and are quite responsive and articulate. This cabinet is a worthy investment. I have several amp heads and I have used this cabinet with the Marshall Origin 50, Peavey 5150, Crate Power Block, Vox MV-50 Rock, Orange Terror Stamp, and an Epiphone Valve Junior; all sound terrific through this cabinet. I haven't had any issues with the tolex, despite not having the traditional corner protectors. It's definitely worthy of the Marshall name, and delivers exceptional tone, volume, and value in an easy to transport format. Equally useful for stage, studio, and practice applications.Shasal

The speaker cabinet was promptly shipped and arrived with no damage. Breaking in the stock speakers now. The 2 12" speakers sound better that I expected for the price point as I was expecting to swap out the stock speakers right away, but I will wait and see. The whole package is a screamin deal! Fit was much better than CNote cabinets. But the binder glue is weak. I wound up screwing on the front baffle as I might do something different with the cabs at some point. Saw the other review where they attempted to screw straight into the cab sides. I glues 1/14 square blocks in the 4 corners to screw into about 1 1/4 inches in from the edge, then screwed the middle into the braces. Even after drilling the holes slightly oversize from the size of the screw shank, at the risk stripping, the braces still split.Used 3/8 weather stripping as gasketing. Saw the gripes about damaged corners, these were packed very well with dense foam holding the boards well away from the carton.Bill

This is a viable product that is as advertised but isn't perfect. In the first place, the pair I ordered both arrived with minor damage to the corners of several panels. This was due inadequate packaging combined with the handling you'd normally expect for a heavy package. Secondly, the side panels don't have dado; only the back panel has these. Consequently it take a lot of care to ensure that the window braces are install true.William D

I've used the smaller bookshelf knock down cabinet before, so I decided to try these. My comments: – I wish the sides had dadoes cut in them so you could align the braces in them. This is my big complaint. – The front has roudovers on the long edges – okay if you're painting but not ideal for veneering. – Seen complaints about packaging – mine arrived fine but some foam corners on the inside would go a long way. -Quality of mdf is good, better than home depot mdf. Currently building a 3 way design in these and I couldn't be happier.Nicholas

I have one of these and the thing is tough that's for sure. I've had this particular one for about 6 yrs or so and Its been all over the place. You can really dial in some great tones with it. The classic line 6 tones are top notch in these pre-usb era models, true grit , smooth, and triply if you're into the acid rock type. Plus if you like earlier Metal this was the amp most young musicians were playing in the late 90's. I kind of prefer it over a lot of other amps strung about that may be because I am familiar with it though I think its because it reminds me of that time era and the sound is comforting . Really, I guess it depends on what you are using it for. Its quick and versatile. But… It is what it is and it will never be a Marshal JCM or one of the Fender Classics there is no substitute for them and they're not trying to be, but its a great intermediate-pro model and for $100 you cant beat these second edition Spiders. Great sounding 2 12” speaker cabinet by Fuchs. At 42 pounds and very compact it’s easy for me to move in my car. Matches up with my Fuchs 50 watt head. Very close to the Dumble tone I’ve been looking for. It’s taken years to Achieve this tone. Fuchs gear is the answer. A bit pricey but well worth it.Dan

This is a great cabinet for any amp head I use. I've used Fender,Boogie, and Marshall through it and they all sound great. One of the best things about this cabinet is the weight and the sound. The sound is very focused similar to a 4×12 cab, but smoother. definitely vintage as opposed to modern in sound. And as far as weight, it is as easy as gigging with my fender super sonic 22 1×12.And this cab is built like a tank! Everyone in the band is blown away by this cabinet! One member is going to replace his Marshall 4×12 with this. I'am really happy I chose this. Next I want to match it with the ODS classic 50.Thomkat

But… It is what it is and it will never be a Marshal JCM or one of the Fender Classics there is no substitute for them and they're not trying to be, but its a great intermediate-pro model and for $100 you cant beat these second edition Spiders.
