Reviews:
It's easy to use, and explained so that the dim such as I, can understand. Besides, there are more scales in this book than Steve Howe of YES can play. Well maybe. This is the 3rd book of this series I've purchased. My kids have confiscated the other two, and this one is for my brother. I was disappointed with the Incredible Chord Finder. I was hoping it would get into progressions and possibly the circle of fifths. However, the Incredible Scale Finder Book is the best by far for getting to the bottom line on the scales, and their differences, and why. Thanks Adolphmale_nurse_at_home

I would say that this book has every scale ever played in it. Very thorough! I would start with the pocket scale guide ifmyou are a beginner. Only because this book has some many scales. Start small.Guitar Drew
I'm just learning and am trying to break out from the chord charts. The 1st few pages have some playable scales, with an explanation/description of each scale. But the rest of the book is filled with neck and dot diagrams, with an explanation on the last page. Unfortunately, the explanation of how to use these neck diagrams isn't basic enough for me to follow. I'll figure it out, with help, eventually.

Guitar Scales |
Reviews:
Good starting scale book. Doesn't just go up and down like others but moves around the fretboard. Splits the major and minor keys nicely. A little pricey for what it is (hence 4/5 stars) but overall goodKAREN

A brilliant step by step, progressive book.Thomas
The intro material in the book is a very good write-up of how scales are structured, how chords are structured and named and the difference between degrees and intervals. The scales, chords, and arpeggio sections that follow are comprehensive.geneo280

This book opens some mystery to my leaening. I have enjoyed this book. Recommended.bull.grae
If you have no clue as to how scales are used over chords to create guitar solos then this book is a good place to start. Guided towards advanced beginners and intermediate players, you will learn some improvisational skills and that will get you out of that pentatonic rut. Along with teaching you the notes on the fretboard, some theory is applied too. To be a better all around guitarist you have to begin somewhere and this may just help if you follow along. The CD is a good companion piece.Reg59
