Reviews:
Lots of fun. More presets and user patches than I can keep track of. The only downside is the 60Hz buzz if I use the power supply or an amp that runs on mains power. Sounds way better running on batteries and hooked up to my battery powered microCube amp. Way cheaper than buying separate pedals. Can't comment on durability yet.1961herb
Got it today. First impression. Tried it with my Fender Jazzmaster and Deluxe Reverb for about 2 hours. Unit is small and has allot of features, the looper is one of the best features. Most the FX are about the same as most pedals. Made of plastic, and made in China, you know those guys with the nukes pointed this way. (LOL) It works good but is kind of noisy much worse with the power adapter, supplied. Tried it with a few of my own power addapters, just as much noise or worse. It should be much quieter than it is, I think it will eat allot of batteries. I playJazz guitar don't use much distortion but it has plenty of choices, some the FX would be useful . Easy to tweek FX and store. Not sure it's right for me I may send it back. If it was quieter I think I would keep it.Johnny
sadly i find it a task to set up. the manual provided covers so many languages but is not very instructive on how to actually programme the unit in any detail. i still have not mastered any changes to obtain the effects i want, this seems to be a problem with most of these types of pedal, not just this one. if the manual was better written and more informative it would improve my opinion greatly. having said all this i do think the unit is very well made and presented and if i can get it to work i will raise my star rating. sorrywardl-2014
2. Boss Me-25 Guitar Multiple Effects
Product Details:
The affordable new me-25 is packed with powerful boss features to make you sound like a pro, yet it's as fun and easy to use as a stompbox. the built-in sound library gives you instant access to dozens of classic and modern effects. simply choose a category, select a variation, and play. customize your sound with simple twists of the drive, tone, and volume knobs. with cosm amp models onboard, plus super stack and phrase loop, the me-25 is a dream processor for upstart guitarists who want great sound and ease of use.
Reviews:
I use this pedal for my guitar and ukulele. It is very user friendly and easy to learn. Besides the power supply and USB cable sold seperately, the only negative that I can think of is that you have to scroll up or down to access your memory banks. The preprogrammed effects are cool, but very easy to reprogram to your liking. The tuner and loop work like a charm. My favorite feature is the ability to switch from volume control to wah on the pedal. It works fast for reggae music.Jeff
I bought this little devil for my classic Roland GR-500 analog guitar synth and found everything about this efxs great for the price, love the feature of it's headphones out, always 've liked Boss products but this one definitly takes the lead for the compact size! I no longer need an amp to rehearse, create or warm up my fingers, still haven't try the loop but it is good to have it, nice wha wha and killer distortion with amp modeling! it too comes with the Sonar LE USB studio but has limitations… ok the only thing I really think needs is a direct memory selection for faster access! I do own for years a Roland GS-6 rack mountable which I use for studio and performing live which has a foot controler to select banks and patches while playing, but hey I did pay 5 times more for than one who rivals this ME-25! Great gear! I told a friend in L.A. yesterday and today he bought his!exavierdotnet
The Boss ME-25 does pretty much everything you could ask for in an effects pedal, each effect can be tailored to suit your tastes. I recommend downloading the free ME-25 Edit program which allows you to see all of the settings that can be changed. It also has a built in looper and tuner that work very well. I cannot think of any cons so far as it does exactly what I want in a pedal. Sadly they are no longer available. However, they can be picked up from auction sites or private sales for a reasonable price.g4tvk
3. Line 6 Helix Limited-Edition Multi-Effects Guitar Pedal Lightning Blue
Product Details:
This distinctive helix floor guitar processor features a limited-edition lightning blue enclosure. the line 6 helix floor guitar and effects processor delivers immense power, flexibility, and control. award-winning hx modeling leverages powerful dual-dsp performance to deliver the authentic sound and feel of vintage and modern amps, cabinets, microphones, and effects. a large color lcd and capacitive-touch footswitches with customizable scribble strips make the user experience faster and more efficient. extensive i/o and signal-routing capabilities provide unprecedented flexibility for both studio and stage, and helix floor can even serve as a comprehensive master controller for your entire studio or live rig by enabling you to easily integrate effects pedals and other hardware into a hybrid setup. presets are also compatible with the entire helix family of guitar processors, including the helix native guitar/effects processor plug-in, enabling guitarists to take their tones from the studio to the stageand back again. authentic hx modeling with hx modeling, each stage of an amps circuitry is measured and matched back to the original, so that every model reacts and interacts with the player in a genuine and realistic manner. hx modeling also accurately recreates the behavior of even the most idiosyncratic vintage effects by modeling their individual components. for example, the transtronic process emulates the behavior of virtually any germanium or silicon transistor or diode, making it possible to authentically recreate fuzz, distortion, and other pedals once considered too persnickety to convincingly model; and the throbber is a virtual lightbulb that mimics the decidedly nonlinear behavior of the small incandescent bulb and four photocells inside the original shin-ei uni-vibe pedals that are essential to their unique sound and vibe. helix floor also lets you load third-party speaker cabinet impulse responses (irs) to persona

Reviews:
Upgraded to this unit from a Pod XT Pro rack. This unit not only has amazing and better sounds but more flexible options and a wider array of effects and amps. Pros: -Sound is stunning. I've not done a side-by-side with a real amp mic'ed with a specific mic in a certain position, but it's utterly convincing to my ears. -Blocks can be re-ordered without restriction. For example, want to daisy chain two amps to get that "you really got me" sound? You can do it and it actually works. -Multiple outs and routing -Flexible pedal assignments. You can connect up another two external footswitches (or exp pedals) and assign to any block. OR, you can assign more than one block to a single pedal (so you could activate a tube screamer, digital delay, and anything else with a single press ready for your solo). OR, you can just use a snapshot and change dozens of parameters with a single press. No more "dancing" around the pedal board, hitting the wrong pedals in the process, looking like an utter berk etc. -Preset sounds with flexible ways to work through them. At a gig I don't have time to change an abundance of settings so have a preset for each song. Sound completely changed in half a second. Next song started without hesitation. -All functions of the unit look like they can be configured through the front panel without having to use the Windows or MAC editor. Cons -Terrible, terrible power supply brick. I can't believe Line 6 sell it like this. They even know it's rubbish – the manual says something to the effect of: "we know the power supply is big but it needs to be special to give you enough juice". Big is not the problem – being stuck upwards in the air from your mains socket standing proud like, er, ahem, well something unmentionable is the problem. Plus when you try to unplug it, the power supply comes in half leaving a little bit left in the mains socket. Which will inevitably get left at a gig. Can't wait for that to happen. -limited number of presets. I need a preset for each of 60 songs. I keep a copy of each preset as a master then duplicate them in the order of the night's set list into other presets – so with that I need at least 120 presets, allowing myself one or two to fiddle with. If I recall correctly this has around 126. Best not learn three more songs that need a different sound each. -It's a little difficult to program the thing – the button layout is confusing and unintuitive compared to the Pod XT pro I have just replaced. I can make the trade-off for the sound but this would not work for many I suspect. -Windows or MAC editor – really? Where do I set that up then? Ah yes I just need a $1000 laptop or a chuffing great desktop unit and monitor to hand. I want to spend my money on guitar gear, thanks! Some other vendors have bluetooth and android apps, line 6 for a change is behind the curve. Two final points. 1) If you need something easier to use buy something with more buttons, knobs and pedal switches. 2) If you really like a particular sound, go out and buy the real amp / effect. You just can't beat the real thing. But this gets very, very close, and of course you have several hundred "things" to choose from with no crackles, no mic stand to get kicked, etc etc.
Purchased as a desktop amp to replace a Kemper head and footswitch, primarily for desktop and recording purposes. The unit is very solidly made and takes up next to no space. Although there are limited knobs on the unit itself, the Windows HX Edit software is excellent and makes it super easy to configure presets. Whilst the HX Stomp's effects blocks are very limited compared with the full size Helix, if you typically use a straightforward setup with, say 3-4 pedals, an amp, a cab/IR I don't see why this tiny device couldn't replace an entire rig. One minus point is that the external PSU has poorly designed plastic adapters for different plug types (UK/Euro etc) which disconnect from the PSU far too easily. First time I took mine out the house I unplugged it and didn't realise the adapter had remained in the socket. I had to buy a US to UK adapter. Something to be aware of if you plan on taking this on the road. Also bear in mind that at the time of writing it's not possible to share presets between Stomp and the larger Helix units.
Where do I begin? What a fantastic unit. I've played it both through a tube, stereo 4×12 rig and an FRFR and it sounds incredible through both. The delays, the mods, the tube amps, the pedals the IR options. The most exciting thing about this is the sound! The Helix class software lets me play like me and sound like me. However, another fantastic feature is the edit-ability, and that you get Helix Native for 99 bucks that loads in full Helix profiles with tons of presets. I love loading the profiles into Native and scaling them down for Stomp XL. Another is the portability. I can tote this thing around everywhere and not even feel the pain of dragging around heavy processing gear. I haven't had it long and am just digging in, but i can tell you, it gets more and more exciting what the Helix class software/ HX Stomp can do the further I go. Seamless computer to unit edits and updates are easy. Get it…get it now. You wont regret it. Five stars in every category.Bobby O'Dell
4. Line 6 Hx Stomp Limited-Edition Multi-Effects Pedal Lightning Blue
Product Details:
I love this stomp so much that i sold all my pedals as it took over my board. it beat out all other pedals, and so then finally i upgraded to a helix. i took many pictures, it looks "mint" to me but i'll say "excellent" to be safe. includes power supply, data cable, original box etc as shown. comes loaded with fremen stomp package presets purchased from the line6 website including clean and driven amp models and the blues presets. also is loaded with over 100 irs from the top 3 companies including about 30 bass irs.

Reviews:
Best price in town on a great little piece of equipment. Honestly, it's amazing what tech is doing these days. This unit is fully staged worthy and has nearly everything anyone could want. There is a learning curve to the unit but it isn't too bad. It isn't perfect out of the box but can be tweaked to preference. Many of the presets are great and as good launch point for sounds you are looking for. As for delivery, my unit came very fast. I think i waited 4 days for my order (which was 5 days earlier than initially estimated).Jeffrey
The GP-200 is a very flexible multi-effects/modeler whose price may suggest something of lower quality, but it's actually a great-sounding and fun unit. I play acoustic and electric guitar with an Acoustasonic Telecaster, and the GP-200 works great for both sounds. You get what's probably hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of amps, effects, and cabinets for a fraction of the cost. The factory presets probably aren't for most people, but the fun is in creating your own anyway. I definitely recommend using the PC/Mac software for this, as it's a little easier on the eyes and a bit more intuitive as far as the interface goes, but working with the unit itself just takes a little time and experimenting to get used to as the documentation isn't as detailed as it could be for the depth of options available. The acoustic guitar IRs are helpful for buffing up a standard piezo pickup; they won't fill anyone into thinking that your $200 guitar is a vintage Martin or whatnot, but they do bring a bit more depth to the sound. I find them a bit brittle-sounding, but perhaps with more EQ tweaking I could minimize that. I highly recommend this unit for people who want a good, flexible modeling solution without paying thousands. I haven't had the opportunity to play with big-name modelers, but this will definitely do the trick for most.Josh

Reviews:
This is my favorite piece of equipment in the studio and Live. It is the greatest for mastering recordings to CD. When finalizing a mix you need to hear the mix at loud volumes on loud hi fidelity speakers to see if the hi end is not too harsh and the lows are not to muddy. The included Ultramizer Fx is a sonicmaximizer 2 band compressor that keeps the mix contained and averaged. Best I ever used and I've used a lot. You can set an average RMS signal which keeps peaks from jumping into red DB range and distorting. This thing really polishes the mix. A one time setting tuned to your speakers is all you will need. I use it live and it doubles the volume of the pa by keeping the average RMS signal intelligently and transparently containing a full sound. Our ears hate harsh hi end at loud volumes and the Ultramizer contains them while pumping up bass which our ears love as per the Munson Fletcher Loudness Contour Curve effect. It also protects speakers by stopping abrupt dynamic bursts that can blow up your speakers. After setting up your speakers with the virtualizer just pushing the in out button will blow you away at the thickness and polish of the mix. Set the crossover freq at 2.5 k. Djs use sonic maximizers to get that pumped up sound. This is 10 times more effective. Also the Delay Reverb multi is smooth and articulate. I have 3 in my home studio. I can say you have to hear it to appreciate what it does. Best mastering tool ever. Best PA tune up sound maximizer. You can shove the master Faders into the red and even at maxed levels in the red it stays Crystal clean. So many nice stereo fx you will be using it all the time. Even as a delay reverb it is perfect for a fine tuned live mixer and you will love it. It is a pitch transposed and can really beef up the love end if the bass. If you are interested in fat polished mixing you will love it. A tweaker dream.Mark Mark
I might be a bit late in writing this review, I've had this thing for 20 yrs. now and it hasn't changed much in design much at all. After 20 yrs. I'm still finding new combinations of effects I hadn't used before. One of my favorite effects is vinyl which makes a scratchy vinyl record sound, it's a nice recording effect to start or end (or both) a recording with. I also like running a drum machine (when i use one) through the enhanced effect give a nice, clear, sharp sound. I'll say it again, I've had it 20yrs, it's been dropped on numerous occasions and as the saying goes "takes a licking, keeps on ticking"!Smitty & Steve, Guitars & Goodti
Although this would be my first effects processor ive bought and dont have anything to compare to it, Im really happy with the purchase. After opening the package I noticed its very light weighted, and easy to carry around. I plugged it into my Behringer mixer and it worked great. The interface is designed nicely, and the knobs turn smooth. I mostly just bought it for the reverb effects and they have some pretty nice reverb presets that ive been using, but it only comes with about 12 or so. I will say there is a ton of effects ill never use on this device. If you are looking for a cheaper way to get live effects, I dont think youll be disappointed with this unit.jaki-6278
8. Digitech Rp-250 Multi-Effects Guitar Effect Pedal
Product Details:
Reviews:
I bought this pedal used for 35 bucks and I haven't stopped using it since it arrived last week. This pedal is durable with complete metal housing, metal pedals and well built solid controls. I leave mine plugged in for hours at a time and it doesn't get hot, which is a big difference from other comparable pedals. The tone dial allows you to switch between different amplifier simulations and boasts 16 different combo's that are sure to satisfy guitarists of many genre's and styles. The effect dial allows you to add a ton of different effects, like phaser, flanger, delay, reverb and many others to your over all sound. There is another dial that allows you to control the depth of the effect you are using and a master volume dial to control sound output. It has an easy to control bypass function, a drum machine and a rocker pedal for wah wah simulating. This pedal is very user friendly and it's all around easy to control. This pedal also has a dedicated channel for you to customize your own sound, using any of the built in effects that you want with a little pre programming. Learning my way around this awesome pedal has been and will continue to be a positive overall experience and a very welcome addition to my own sound as a final product. I'm glad I decided to give it a try and itis most certainly money well spent.spoiledbrat.me
Very useful tool for practicing and recording or performing live within reason. Stereo outputs, Aux in, USB connection for streaming or X-Edit download, Mixer/Amp switch and Headphone option all very useful for me. It does have a very comprehensive array of sound options and drum patterns but I found them easy to navigate and adjust. Thanks DigiTechbonerackjack

This pedal arrived with me last Friday, I was really keen to use it having seen the demos online, the following 2 days turned our to be the most frustrating of my life. I suspect the demo people are given a fully programmed device to portray a seeming ease of use. In reality after 2 days of struggling with sluggish and in some cases non responsive buttons and really poor tutorial, even with the help of online programmes, I was not able to store a single usable setting. Now it may be that I was supplied with a faulty unit or the pedal requires far more time and patience than I can throw at it. In a performance environment, utmost simplicity is key and I feel this unit is not that simple, or as I said earlier. could be defective. In either case it isn't for me and the end result is a return for refund or exchange for a different brand. If some-one could mail me in this regard as soon as possible I would be very grateful. kind regards Chris
I like the sound of my guitar live…
The likes stop there… the vocal processor is extremely subpar for a unit costing this much.
The looper, even with updated firmware, is way to short to use practically…I use my 75.00 dollar pedal with 3 hrs of loop time. The volume on mine does wonky things, starts out pretty good…then jumps loud…tried it in recording situation….good god no….sounds like a diesel truck… worth about 1/4 the cost….scott monthony

It has been really fun to try the different presets. The harmonies are very nice and clean. To my ear they sound great. I haven't played a gig with it yet….so we will see. There are some basic things that I wish i had known about the interface. Some fundamental orientation videos would be good. I had the most basic problem with not understanding that the buttons were so sensitive. It is almost comical! I would PRESS the button and nothing would happen! But i finally discovered just to TAP the button and everything worked fine. Seriously. Holding the button firmly down did nothing. Just tapping it though… .and it worked as it should. 🙂 Really weird to me! But overall, I think the guitar effects and voice are very good. i'll enjoy this thing I am sure.mhs9417

Sounds good. very practical tool if you want to cary a small pedal board you can fit in your hand. Great for connecting to your interface to record ideas for demos. The cab sim is good. I find it abit dark sounding but the eq fixes it. Comes in adurable metal shasi you dont have to worry about it breaking and even comes with it's own power supply which is great for this price point. The affects are controlled by a mix level- Agreat solution to saving realestate. Dirt starts with Gilmorish over drive up to hair metal and everything in between. A tap tempo and an aditional overdrive would have made it aperfect pedal but it's great as it is considerring the price point. I would recomend it to any guitar player or producer.tamikere0
Easy to use, nice chorus, nice reverb, delay is a bit touchy and difficult to adjust on the fly. The distortion is pretty good..when you engage the button, I get a lot of noise through my amp. I thought it may be a bad cable, but I have tried several cables including two brand new monster cables.same thing. Other than that, the pedal is fine. Does anyone have a suggestion about the noise issue? It is extremely annoying.gandkconn19461947

Delivers six different ways to color tone in a single box, for a rock-bottom price. You can use one at at time, which is really no drawback– just buy another one of these if you want to chain them. Experienced pedal users may have effects that are superior. But I'm a low-rent guy in a high-stress world, with no prior experience in pedals or tone shaping, and for me this is a gem. Instant therapy. A lot of fun, finding sounds that I've heard on songs and always wondered how people made them. I don't find it to be very noisy at the volumes employed in my apartment (duh), and a noise gate in my chain makes it virtually silent. The build quality is not an issue for me, at least so far. I won't be abusing it, and for the price, if I somehow manage to break the case… it's not a tragedy. It's a cool box for people like me who want inexpensive access to the world of effects. I think it would satisfy more critical users as well.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
You get what you pay for. This pedal is fun to experiment with. Some effects are really good, others are not. The Flanger needs a high-cut filter. The Phaser is kinda weak and it sucks your tone. The chorus is really good. The delay would be really good, but it won't go slow enough for me. So I don't see myself using it. I don't like the Tremolo effect, but it seems to work fine in this pedal. The Pitch Shifter was my favorite effect in this pedal. It is sensitive to adjustments, but once I had it carefully dialed-in, it sounded great. The Level knob works great. It seems to blend the original signal with the selected effect nicely, without dropping the volume or sucking your tone. I use this pedal in the effects-loop of my amp head. The two parameter knobs seem to have a pretty big range. They go from subtle, to really wild. It takes some time to carefully adjust them to get the sound you are looking for. The knobs feel stiff when you turn them, which is nice. They will stay where you set them. Construction is plastic, so this pedal is not too durable, but it will be fine for home use. Overall, this pedal is great for the price. It has plenty of use-able sounds in it, but some of the effects are not perfect. This pedal would be great for new players, because it allows them to experiment with different effects to see what they like, and it doesn't cost much. I use a 1-spot power adapter with it, which works great.
This is a very good unit for it's price. I purchased it for my "little" amp when I go to friends place's to jam. My "big" amp has the same effects in it & are better. However, it does do the job I purchased it for. It is well made in China under German supervision. The Germans don't do rubbish products & that's what made me check it out. I'm not complaining about it at all, this is one of those "horses for courses" items. I have another pedal that does what this one does & more but it cost three times what this did. I'd recommend this to anyone that wants those effects but doesn't want to pay close to $200. My last remark is "you can't beat it for the price"Roger R.
12. Tc Electronic Mimiq Doubler Pedal
Product Details:
This is a really cool and unique pedal that adds a doubling effect to your sound with varying degrees of tightness depending on how you set it so it can sound like a chorus, delay, or it can just thicken up your sound. with 1,2, or 3 dubs it can really add a minor or very noticeable effect depending on how you set it and it can really sound fantastic while being very versatile. only letting this go because i'm changing to a multi fx pedal. not looking for trades. don't have the original box.

Reviews:
I track usually 4 rhythm tracks, two of the exact same then two more of the same but with accents or harmonies etc as my main rhythm and I like it to be tight and sound like one guitar performance, the variations and accents and harmonies blend and widen the sound, also I use hard panning and other panning to make the guitar sound huge. With the guitar sound very close performance wise and tone/distortion quality wise, I find that it just sounds like one massive performance and the listener perceived it as a Randy Rhoads kind of singular performance. I'm the only guitarist and I play complex chords, this also let's be play parts of the chord separately for more even intonation and harmonics definition. It goes towards the big sound, I kind of learned from Alex Lifeson, Rhoads, and Hatfield and Wolf of Accept this approach as they all do the main rhythms and it sounds tight and huge. Mimiq helps me get the 4 tracks with only two performances and it adds natural sounding random variations that do what the multitrack stacking of individual performances does, it doesn't just uniformly cancel out all the interesting variations, which can happen if you just copy the same track and reamp. It does what I wanted to do, with less than half the effort.Mindcage
This replaced the signal splitter on my board with the added benefit of actually making my stereo sound better. I have it right after my tuner and it splits into an HM-2 LHP on the dry side and a Blackened Fuzz on the wet "double" side. Makes my stereo rig sound better. I only use the 1 dub mode, so Dry and 1 Double L/R and I use it pretty tight, just enough to make it sound "different" but not sloppy. Does exactly what I had hoped it would do.
Bought to run a slight delay to a second amp more so than the "double track" thing. But actually this effect seems pretty decent. Did i immediately notice you can get phase issues? Yes of course. Did i get some of that notorious left right jump thing? Yes. But it seems to relate to using the pedal at the limits of what its happy with. For the price this thing is a keeper…because otherwise im having to spend big dosh on either the 30ms or the Deco. Buy this but be prepared to accept some limitations and bug bears. It aint bad at all.Rich

As a 62 year old musician I'm not into technology and the X5 did not come with the updated version i.e no Tuner etc. It took me quite some time to figure out how to download the latest version and I found it extremely difficult to try and solve the issue. The on-line instructions make it so easy and yet when I followed them to the letter I could not get it to load. Finally I managed to load it…how I still don't know! Having said this the X5 is a great piece of kit. It's tidied up my pedal board and I'm having great fun. Its a quality product….Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I recently broke down my kit just to simplify everything in an ampless/recording/playing/streaming setup that works incredibly well for all those things. The Plethora offers an All I Need in One Unit – almost. I've put a compressor/Boost and the Broadcaster AP in front of it, and looped everything and out of a Simplifier. Modulation sounds, specifically Delays and Reverbs are my Jam, and the Plethora delivers. Having as many as I need on tap is where we're going here, and the options with Toneprint are vast. Then we can tweak. There's also plenty of scope to experiment and look for inspiration, so in all it looks to be a great value proposition for most. I think that TC Electronic realised that most people are going to have a favourite Overdrive pedal, so the omission of any digital replica is actually welcomed from me. (Seriously – you've gotta try the Broadcaster!) It was between this and a Helix Stomp XL. In the end I figured I could live without the amp sims, and I prefer the user interface and less menu diving with the XL. They sound the same to me. There's always room for improvement somewhere. Another loop might have been good, and the looper function is perhaps lacking in full functionality for some, but it's enough to keep you ticking over. Not much to complain about though, especially when you consider that buying pretty much ANY boutique 2 or 3 switch pedal is going to cost you £300, it's a bit of a no-brainerReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Great piece of kit with masses of options and available sounds – potential to replace a fair few pedals in my collection – plus giving me more sounds that I wouldn't use often enough to warrant buying a specific pedal. Can setup boards for specific songs and/or different band or jam scenarios. Future firmware drops hold potential for additional features so the future looks good – for no additional cost! Editing sounds live as per regular stomp boxes is easy if that's your preference so all bases are covered. Looks and feels pretty robust so making a guess that it will last well.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
Pro's Had this pedal for a few weeks now, very pleased as I can plug my passive solid body electric violin straight in and it seems to balance the impedence just fine, so I don't lose the lower frequencies. Battery life is surprisingly good, also there is an eco function that makes the screen less bright for longer life. First thing I did was test it with cheap pound shop batteries, which lasted for a good few hours, so I was impressed as none of my other pedals can handle that. There is a very useful editor which you can download and gives full access to all of the various fx. Was also surprised that Zoom seem to keep adding these individual plug-in type effects. There is one set of patches that you can load in from the editor, created by a Japanese EV player. They are interesting and can be useful. The fx appear to be in a chain, but some seem parallel to my mind, as there is a mix control with some that seems to be a by-pass of some kind. There are quite a lot of different fx and some are aimed at getting that piezo squeek under control, which is important for EV players as the bow hair noise can be a distraction. The EQ fx seem to be aok at filtering out the annoying frequencies. The looper is quite handy for setting up, the frequency response to my ears seemed ok without any noticeable compression. Not many battery loopers out there, so this is ok for a street jam if that is your thing. It's just basic record, overdub x however many you want, stop or delete. This pedal worked well through my amps and like most pedals works well in that situation for live gig work. For studio, I could record DI straight into my DAW, but to gain a really natural sound used additional IR reverb and IR convolution snapshots that I've made. I also have the Zoom A2.1u pedal which is built like a tank but is less easy to program. I wasn't sure about the plastic base of the A1. However, it has a got a solid metal base and feels really strong+ it's light and a handy size, not too big. Unlike some of the floor guitar pedals I've got that take up a whole gig bag. I can set up my favourite patches in any order that I like, the editor makes this very easy. I can overwrite the presets, or re-set back to makers original settings. Makers patch 29 is one of the best octavers I have come across in a pedal like this. Makes a regular EV sound just like a Cello. Cons: There might be IR on this pedal but you can't load in your own and there is no way to get access to edit the convolution fx. I was overly impressed with the Violin pre-sets, but that's true of most pedal presets, you need to put you own to together to suit different EV's you might own. Overall I like this pedal and can see myself using it a lot because it is light, I can edit on the fly, good battery life, good price, ongoing support via the editor. I bought this pedal from Scan computers in Bolton and their service was excellent and they offered the most competitive price, so all good imo.Peak
This is NOT an acoustic guitar pedal! It has useless settings for sax, harmonica, trumpet, WHY ? They're just a bunch of unusable effects for a guitar, maybe a half dozen are useful. The looper is useless, you have to use your hand to get to it, it ONLY records a 30sec loop, not 24 seconds not one measure , 30 sec. And it doesn't start with sound activation, so the delay from when you turn it on stays in the loop, as does the remainder of the 30 seconds !!! What good is that ? And the pedal is right next to a control footswitch, that you WILL keep hitting and changing the setting as you play. There is no rhyme or reason to the lack of organization in the effects order, there isn't any. Bottom line, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !Badartdog
The main reason I bought this is that i had a Zoom 405 acoustic effects years ago and loved it. This has the same quality effects. The preset guitar types is surprisingly good, the EC preset is very very good. The rhythm is ok, standard level and useful for sure. The looper however is very average, very limited in control and capacity. Overall a very good effects unit for acoustic guitar. Forget the looper!itc_productions

This is just what I was looking for. Well designed and super easy to use (unlike TC Nova). The layout is intuitive, sensible and easy to remember. You won't be wasting time digging through menus or trying to remember how it works. The basic Reverb, Delays, Distortions, and Modulation effects are excellent. Storing and calling up presets is a piece of cake on the fly. The WAH is nice and other pedal effects are good too. There's a lot going on with this unit, including a Looper, iPod/CD in for jamming along, Cab simulations, Direct Out to Board etc. All in all, BOSS has done a terrific job with this model and for the gigging musician, or closet player, you certainly won't be disappointed running with this "tank like" effect unit. And, it runs on batteries for about 15 hours!!!thesummerwind
The effects are pretty good, though I don't go for raspy solid state distortion. Great for metal/thrash in the band-limited CD age, though. Not too good for live play, though. Too many button stomps required to change patches to allow for instant change on the beat. I'm looking into a way to, at least, assign a patch to each of the 4 switches but I'm not sure it will do that. I will probably have to design circuitry to fix this problem. Don't like the wah. Not enough resolution and so it changes too quickly. Really hard to do anything subtle with it. Might be able to adjust it it some but I'm not sure it will help.cyborgsam
Its easy to use. It has all the effects without the noise or complexity of cables. It has a phrase looper. You dont need an amp, only a pair of headphones with a 1/8 to 1/4inch adapter to play through it. I like it better than the ME-80, which I owned and enjoyed but gave to a friend a year ago. The ME-80 was a larger more feature loaded unit, but the ME-70 has a better foot pedal in my opinion. I spend more time playing and practicing because of it.jlbarnabas

I wanted to simplify my stage setup. The Donner Alpha Cruncher 3 has three of my most used effects, so I thought I would give it a try. It has exceeded my expectations, the effect is great, the noise level is nonexistent. And the PRICE!! Less than the cost of one pedal of other brands. It is built solid, very sturdy case and and good positive switches.Motorhead
Playing a mandolin through it, works very well, mandolin sounds great with everything switched on!mike5012tx

Bought one of these to replace an old Peavey effects unit. As soon as we plugged it in we noticed a very pronounced high-end hiss. Only way to tone it down was to try to EQ it out. (the input/outputs had to be turned almost to zero to quiet it down – so what's the point?) Ended up yanking it and keeping the old one. Friend of mine recently had the same experience in his set-up. If only he had asked me first. Look up other reviews about this product, it also has a display glitch that causes it to randomly scroll through different effects settings. This is unacceptable in this day and age – even at this pricepoint. It is now sitting in our "just in case something breaks" pile.Squeezebox 4.0
my last ART unit died and I needed to replace it. I run a Mackie VLZ1604pro. i send 4 efx sends and after buying one lex200 a year ago, it was a slam dunk. I have had another brand which i will not mention, you need to be an MIT grad to operate. Not for me. I do not have a lot of experience with many other units, but for me the Lex200 works great, main thing, it is easy to use, simple and sounds awesome. I recomendbkbrocks
This unit is noisy to the point of unusable in my effects loop. I have it running off the back of my 5150 III head and it hisses to no end, despite top of the line cables and a Furman power conditioner. Also it squashes the tone of the amp – makes it sound thin. I don't recommend this unit for guitar effects loop use. I thought Lexicon would be top of the line. I have heard better reverb from pedals.EB
