Reviews:
I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The Multistomp series are easily, in my opinion, the best bang for the buck pedals madeLocorogue
The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean
I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. B&H had the best deal available and as always they provide excellent service. Thank you B&H. I'll Be Back, lolThomas G
2. Tc Electronic Mini Spark Booster Guitar Pedal
Product Details:
A tiny pedal with a loud bark, the tc electronic spark mini booster can provide up to 20db of clean boosted power. whether you want to kick it on periodically for some extra punch or leave it on all the time as a tone booster the spark mini can prove useful in many playing situations regardless of genre. because of its diminutive footprint the spark mini can be easily placed in any open space on your board. if you want to add more gain to your sound put the spark mini at the beginning of your signal chain to drive your pedals and amp harder. some guitarists have an always on boost in this configuration to impart some grit on their tone. if you want to just boost your overall volume stick the spark mini at the end of your signal chain either after all of your pedals or in your amp's effects loop. should you for whatever reason want to disengage the spark mini the true bypass switching ensures that the circuitry in the pedal won't affect your tone while disengaged.

Reviews:
I wanted a button to make me louder for solos etc. and this does exactly that without changing tone. Brilliantly simple: set how much volume jump you want and that’s it, I don’t think I have had the dial past 25% so far. The ‘latching’ function of the foot switch is a great idea. Great price as wellReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Initially intended to buy an Xotic EP Booster because I wanted to try the Echoplex thing out, but saw this little guy and figured…why not? I like it so much, I don't see the point in ordering the EP Booster anymore! Hits the front end of my Soldano in a way no overdrive has yet, and with no noise. Works equally well in front of my OCD pedal for a lead boost. And to all the people whining about the switch not clicking…whatever. I like that about the TC stuff and wish all pedal companies would make their switches "clickless". Great value, just buy it already! Thanks TC and Sweetwater!
This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I'm not particularly fond of the "momentary volume boost" feature but that doesn't change my overall opinion. It's a great item.ethan1957

Reviews:
Overall great little pedal for the money. I found it really responsive to picking dynamics and EXTREMELY responsive to the guitar's tone control. You can go from snarling nasal distortion to thick chucking crunch just by turning your tone knob down. I bought this to use almost like two distortion pedals. I recently joined a 50s & 60s cover band. So I needed something that would clean up and play nice on stuff like "Johnny B. Goode," (single Muff) but also be able to fuzz it up for some "White Rabbit," and "Purple Haze," action (double muff). This distortion isn't exactly dynamic and nuanced but put a clean boost in front of it and you can get some satisfying sustain on it. This sucker pairs up very well with my wah pedal too. Someday I'll probably drop serious coin on something a little more "elegant" but for now this pedal will scratch the itch. It's simple to operate and you can get a lot of variety out of it based on how you play, but you have to know what you're doing. If you're a "set everything to 11" kinda guy this pedal's not gonna do it for you. I like the two Muff circuits. That is a cool idea. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but that's what I want… simplicity. I'm not the kind of guy who needs to be able to surf the web and file my tax returns on my effects pedals. I just want decent sound without breaking the bank. I also dig the smaller "nano" size, fits easily on even the most cluttered pedal board. Seems to be rock solid so in that aspect it gets hight remarks. There are some things that could be beefier, like the switch to select between single and double Muff circuits for example. I like to switch this with my toes. Looks like it won't stand up to much abuse. The pedal also makes an audible "thud" noise when you switch it on. If you time it correctly it actually sounds really cool. But it's not exactly "smooth" in operation. There is also a bit of hiss or noise but nothing you can't work around. I found that rolling the guitar's tone knob down a bit does a LOT to reduce this. The price is right!!! This is plenty of distortion at an easy price tag.veryhappy
I really didn't this was a big deal. Then I got a Green Russian BigMuff. It didn't sound so great on my Vox. For kicks I ran this pedal in to the Russian. Suddenly it sounded right. It gave the BigMuff exactly what is always missing on a BigMuff…mids. Then I tried this infront of all kinds of drives. The same thing every time. It just seemed like the pedal sounded right. I challenge you. Get one and drop it in front of a BigMuff and you'll finally have the mids you always needed in the mix with a band.DudeMan
I use this with a fender champ II (18watts, similar to a Princeton but without reverb and trem) set to a medium overdrive, and the pedal (set to single) at about three-o'clock, back off the guitars volume a bit and it's a wonderful driving rhythm sound, back off the guitars volume a lot and it's sparkly clean, push the guitars volume up all the way and it's absolute sonic joyful mayhem! I love this pedal!Granthambeard

Reviews:
I've had this pedal for about maybe 5 months, great pedal. The best thing to do is to always read your manual because this particular pedal shuts off. That feature is to save you battery power, or just being on too long when you walk away. I hadn't gotten use to that at first. It pays to read the manual to figure out how to do it. But the Selections in where the layout is for the different tones, for rock and roll, blues, heavy metal, and R&B is it great pedal.astringmusic
It' easy to blow an afternoon exploring the wide variety of sounds this pedal can produce. While many of the effects are great there are quite a few duds mixed in there. You just have to play. There doesn't seem to be that much logic as to how the effects are grouped. You really need to write down your favorites. Out of 100 effects I think almost anyone can find 20 that they really like. Great pedal for the money.Lenny G.
The Stomplab has some very good patches right out of the box better than most MultiFX units. I rarely get to say that. Since I like to try them all, I think it excels in areas that can outdo expensive pedals. The amps sound really realistic and have beefy snappy mids right in your face with great projection and pop. The tones are designed to sound good as you play with EQ settings the amps seem to stay in the zone of what you would expect an actual amp would do. The best way to really experience this is to plug into a Hi Fidelity home stereo etc. and listen to how detailed the mix is. There is a Tube Screamer that seems to actually enhance just about every amp you try it with when trying to get some edge. The clean amps are some of the best out of the box tube gain style sparkling U2 like rhythms with clearly defined picking separation. This is probably about as good as it gets for these type sounds. Very metal like ballading with chorus and delay. Def Leppard Bringing on the Heartache or Photagraph come off terrific. The crunch sounds are very realistic and the US Hi Gain is about as good as it gets for 80s Metal. I can compare this to the VT Plus series because I have it. This pedal sounds good and really excels with a Tube amp. The VT Plus is a tube hybrid and the 12ax7 single tube does add a touch of edge as it is cranked but the pedal is the same Engine and the edge is subtle and the Tube Screamer SIM sounds close. Any sound can be had and it records from the line out with very good definition. Most of the amp sims are very good with little tweaking and I think it has the most good amp Sims of any other multi fx unit. Has way more variables than the VT Plus amp series and it is one of my favorites for downright realistic amp sounds. Hard to believe it but, it stacks up well against the bigger floorboards in respect to tone alone. More controls on the bigger units sometimes can take you too far off base. It really is well designed and keeps you sounding good.

Reviews:
Bought this for low gain. Even with gain on zero and toggle down on a clean valve amp there was so much gain ! Also trying to get more mid area even made the gain more again? If you like lots of gain this is a pedal to think about. However if you want low gain with no saturation and gain that increases rather than there a zero steer clear. Very disappointed.DLF
The small box is just what I needed to get those slash tones for my covers band, it does all the Marshall crunch tones without the unnecessary over the top gain tones but reacts beautifully when pushed with a boost to give you fantastic leads! It sits perfectly within the band mix! Made up With my purchase, and PMT customer service was a fantastic experience, super fast delivery and communication at every step! Top notch!!Patricia W.
6. J. Rockett Archer Ikon Boost/overdrive Pedal
Product Details:
If touch sensitivity, harmonic content and string clarity are your thing (and they should be) this pedal will provide you all of the aforementioned and more. the dumble needs no introduction and this is where inspiration for this pedal has been taken. the level control adds a clean boost and can function independently of the ratio. the ratio control allows you to find the sweet spot between gain versus boost. this is where you will find that classic ods sound. that sweet spot will depend on your guitar and amp so experiment. the deep control will scoop the mid when you turn it to the left and add a thick low midrange when turned to the right. the dude can go from clean boost to classic dumble sounds to high gain. please be careful with the output this dude is loud! as with all the tour series, the pedal is designed and built to be robust enough for anything the touring musician can throw at it.

Reviews:
Super pedal …. has alot of character, and very flexible for complementing one's setup. If this circuit is indeed the closest yet to a true Klon, then I now see what all the hoopla has been about …. though I would never have even considered going after one of those ridiculously priced after-market Klon's. But with a price under $200, this is definitely a good deal. I would recommend this pedal for any player who wants a top-drawer clean boost, and the extended flexibility of merging in various levels of tasty overdrive. Also, the Ikon works very well with other pedals in one's chain, both before & after the Ikon. Rgds.abradfordajb
This is the most versatile overdrive I have ever had. Not only does the gain offer a wide – and always clear – range, the tone actually does something! Quite a lot, actually. The video on this v the silver model v an original Klon were very useful. I chose this one as it seemed a tad warmer, better suited to my mainly humbucker sound. But I would say I have found some great tones also with a Tele, Strat & Ricky, so that ‘best ever’ rating.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This pedal is very versatile drive pedal. I could easily see 2 of these on my board. As a clean boost, it works very well and creates a very smooth creamy tone, but when the drive gets set above 10 oclock, you start to see some crunch added in. Around 12 and above, you hit some serious overdrive/distortion. This replaced a Tumnus Deluxe, which is also a great pedal, but it did pretty much what my tubescreamer did, but this pedal stands out! I've used this for Rhythm and Lead guitar with many different guitars and it works well with gain around 11am-1pm, level around 12, and treble around 12. I get lots of compliments on my tone and I'm glad I purchased this.Eric j

Always heard a lot about the Holy Grail and the Soul Food pedals, and wondered what the fuss was all about. Found out.I have a half dozen od pedals ( Ts-808, BD,DOD) and they all have there place on the board, but this one has a different growl than the others. Not as brittle as the BD, yet not as smooth as the TS. Not overpowering, just the "right " amount. Needed a reverb pedal too.The Defender amp I use has Dark Vader spring reverb, but not on a foot switch. There is a switch that let's you choose between spring, hall, and plate reverbs, as well as a reverse reverb. The first three sound very good. Can't really find a use for the reverse though. Maybe it sounds different to me mites in Austrrrralia , since everything is supposed to be backwards down under. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one pedal, this would be it. Remember, life is too short NOT to have good tone!Gerald

Product Details:
The ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992 and decades later bogner is still hand building each amp, one at a time, right here in los angeles, california. the ecstasy blue pedal captures the classic blue channel tone of this legendary amplifier, acclaimed for its ability to deliver iconic and classic rock-n-roll crunch. everyone knows that blue delivers stunning plexi tones, but when the going gets rough, make no mistake – blue can crush on demand. reinhold designed the ecstasy blue pedal with four discrete class a gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the ecstasy amplifiers blue channel. this revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals. the ecstasy blue is powered by a standard 9v battery or 9vdc power supply. reinholds advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage a substantially higher level. this higher voltage provides a greater dynamic range which closely resembles the feel of the ecstasy amplifiers legendary tube design.

Reviews:
Bogner is one of the best amplifier makers in the world. This is an excellent OD that can even get to distortion heavy enough for any rock band, perhaps metal, pending the player. Even with the gain a full, one can roll off the volume and have a nye on clean sound. I have had this for a few months and this is the closest way to get a Bogner, or at least a piece of one, still made in the same factory.Mike
The Bogner Blue mini is an excellent pedal for a lot of things, but I'm using it to open up my dark sounding tweed amp (Fender Custom Shop Twinolux). This pedal has a great mild tube breakup sound if you want it and the active EQ allows it to take over my amp in a good way to make my sound more "open" rather than compressed as with many tweed. If you want more gain, there are 3 settings. Want more bite in the EQ, there are 3 EQ settings. This has Bogner's signature refined tone and of course true-bypass. Top quality, will keep for a lifetime due to it's versatility and active EQ.AustinCM

Reviews:
great value; plenty volume on tap; treble and bass very usable; does color tone a bit but in a good thick way; less bass helps clear up the sound a bit. with small toggle switch in down pos perhaps a little more transparent and with toggle up adds a little more girth to the tone. flat response with vol around 1 o'clock, gain at 7 o'clock, bass at around 10 o'clock and treble around 3 o'clock (at least with my circuit…); gain begins to gets very "gainy" adding significant volume at around 10 o'clock and from will continue to increase to an extreme full tone slightly mid scooped distortion. not designed to be a big bumble bee crackly fuzz but like its label states an "overdrive" and will defiantly push your amp into breakup from mild to extreme.baycman
This pedal has gotta be one of the most underrated OD pedals out there…. especially given its price point. I have A,B'd this thing against modded BD-2s, modded OD-3's, and the SD-1W and the Mojomojo is just bigger and less tinty. I dont want it to be, but it is. It is a wonderful sounding OD and is great for OD rhythm sounds. It is in the cranked Marshall class of OD's so not to be confused with the green OD pedal. The only area that some of my modded ODs beat it in is sustain. It does tail off on lead stuff sooner than some more expensive pedals. That is the only area that it doesn't win though. You can also use this as an always on boost as well. All in all this thing always seems to knock more expensive pedals off my board time and time again. Highly recommend this pedal and at it's price point it should be in all OD aficionados collection.KL
I use the MojoMojo on my Fender G-DEC Junior and it helps to make the amp sound warmer, richer and fuller. The MojoMojo when dialed in right adds a very slight and suttle low mid thickness, hard to explain. I find its not a "set it and forget it" type of pedal (i.e. Tube screamer), for each amp setting I have to dial it in or it will sound muddy but with a little tweaking between the amp settings and the pedal settings (usually level settings rather than tone knobs) I can get them matched tonally and sonically, bass tone knob is usually set pretty low. I use low output humbuckers and it works great with these. I can get nice overdrive without changing the amps overall characteristic sound.

Reviews:
Sound: I’m really happy with the sound pallet available on the SY-1. You can get Metheny style saw wave/string style leads, several organ sounds, Bladerunner basses etc. It’s got a lot of 80’s synth vibe to it. The sound editing is somewhat limited yes, but that’s exactly why I went back to the SY1 from the other synth pedals I tried. Sound for sound, I found the SY1 had the most usable sounds for my style. Pair it up with some chorus, delay, and long decay reverb and it is capable of sounding incredible. Features: By far the best feature to me is that everything you need to make/change sounds is on the top. No PC editor required. While it does limit the capabilities it’s also much easier for an old guy like me to get musical sounds out of it without breaking out a manual or re-learning everything I have forgotten about synths LFO’s and filters from the '80s. Ease of Use: Very easy to use. Plug it in, turn some knobs until you smile. Pair it with an expression pedal for even more fun things to do. Quality: It’s Boss. It’s built like a tank. If zombies rush the stage it could be used as a weapon. Clean it up, plug it back in, and keep playing. Value: When compared to similar offerings from Source Audio, Meris, EHX, I think the SY1 is a fair value. A bit less functionality but what you get instead is easy access to usable sounds for a few bucks less. Manufacturer Support: In the 40 years I’ve been using Boss I’ve only contacted them once. No issues. The Wow Factor: Synth pedals aren’t for everyone, sure. But for that occasional something different on a lead or just for tooling around over ambient soundscapes they can be a lot of fun. Overall: I would consider myself your garden variety guitar player. I play rhythm and lead in a rock cover band and do some ambient and prog stuff on my own and this fits right in with the rest of the gear on my pedalboard. I’ve tried a few other guitar synth pedals from Boss, Meris, and Source Audio and ended up going back to this one because it fits my style and needs the best. The tracking is very, very good. In my humble opinion it tracks better than the C4. I’m not Alex Hutchings but I can play moderately fast and it keeps up with no issues. Compared to other synth pedals this is much more straightforward but also much more limited in sounds. It’s very 80’s vs some of the more experimental sounds you can get out of the others, but that’s what I was looking for. If you are looking for bleeps and boops sounds or want deep editing, this pedal probably isn’t for you. If you are looking for a more traditional GR style sounding synth then this is definitely worth checking out.Allan
This is a very enjoyable pedal. Would I recommend it, and is it good value? That depends on your expectations. It benefits from being used in conjunction with other pedals as on there own some of the synth tones are very dry and digital. I feed an overdrive into it, and a light reverb after. Adding fuzz to the effects loop also adds to make the overall effect more massive. That being said, I have struggled to find tones that I can use with my (rock) band in a live setting, and I was hoping it would enhance/thicken up my sound. The variations and possibilities are so vast that the sound(s) I am looking for may well still be out there…more fooling around in the bedroom required…ooer!pepsimax360
Build. It’s a Boss so it will probaat still be around when our sun has gone supernova. Sound. Nothing short of amazing when you consider you do not need to screw some kind of special pick-up on your guitar. And there are sounds galore, 11 types that have 11 subtypes each. That’s 121 in totaal! And all your favorites are there, Lead, Organ, Pad, you name it. Use. As straightforward as it could be. Choise your mail type, select a subtype, dial in tone and debt, adjust the mix with the original signal and you are good to go. Features. On the upside this pedal has it’s own effect loop, the sound of the unit can be manipulated with an external expression pedal, for driving the effect up an octave for instance and the front of the pedal (next to the powerinput) has a little switch where you can determine whether you are using the unit with a guitar or a bassguitar. Possible concerns are the facts that there is no MIDI compatibility, sound can’t be restored or recalled and, suprisingly enough, the unit is mono. Bang for the buck? For days! With these possabilities, features and sounds it is basicalky a steal, not to mention how little real estate this unit takes up on your pedalboard.

As Julius Cesar said when crossing the Rubicon: "The die has been cast". I am an avid pedal enthusiast, as my 42 pedal pedalboard will attest; and I have had a few flangers before, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to Josh's flanger. I could add to this review but it will not do anything for you: JUST BUY IT! YOU NEED IT! THERE'S NO OTHER FLANGER LIKE IT! YOU'LL REGRET NOT HAVING THIS CLASSIC IN YOUR COLLECTION A FEW YEARS FROM NOW. Trust me, I'm a Doctor.
I can get this pedal to do three things: a very subtle reverb that adds a touch of space, a room-like reverb, and a super long-tailed ambient reverb that's so expansive it almost sounds like it's mixed with delay. There are other reverb pedals for a bit more money that have more options built into them-spring, plate, hall, room, shimmer, modulated reverb, and so on. With this pedal I find it difficult to switch between the different sounds since it's a lot of knob fiddling. It does sound absolutely killer, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I don't recommend it if you want to easily switch between different types of reverb. For me it will be more of a "set and forget" pedal for long ambient reverbs.Andrew
I was recently using one pedal board for all my guitars, and the chorus I had was mainly designed for use with acoustic guitar. Now I'm rearranging things to have one board just for my electric guitars and all I needed was a basic chorus pedal of quality build and tone. I knew from reviews the JHS 3 series was perfect for me. I've been playing for 57 years and have owned pedals in the $100 to $500 range to provide my chorus effects. No matter if I had mulitple options in some stomp boxes I usually settled on a good subtle setting, so I knew there was no need for me to get anything fancier than the JHS. It sounds are good as the little blue Boss Chorus I bought way back in 1980.Jon

At a point several years back I only owned Active Basses, but in the space of two months proceeded to acquire several High-End Basses with Passive Electronics, I was in need for something in my signal chain to raise the output of the Passives to the level of my Active Basses. I took the advice of a close friend who's a true "Professional Bassist" who also knows a great deal about the technical issues of Pedalboards, Large-Scale Amplification and such and picked up the Xotic Bass RC Booster which was the highest-quality he could recommend (I'd rather spend the money once rather than upgrade from a "Beginner's Pedal" to a "Midrange Model" and so on…) That was once of the best pieces of advice I've been given in terms of gear, as to this day the Bass RC Booster is a main piece of equipment on my Pedalboard. Between the 2-Band EQ, Gain & Volume controls I'm able to raise the level of my own Passive Basses or a Bass that I'm using at a Jam or Open Mic to the levels of my Active Bass, which I have all adjusted to Unity Gain as to cause as little issues as possible. Two surprising use of note: with a minimal increase in Volume the Pedal becomes just as useful as a Volume Boost to both Passive & Active Basses for solos, drum 'n bass breakdowns and other times where it's necessary to step out into the spotlight a bit more. Secondly, when the Gain is pushed towards the higher registers you can even can a quite useable "SVT"-type Overdrive. Even players who play with a clean tone will certainly find this added bonus helpful in both live and studio situations. To sum up the Xotic RC Bass Booster, it's an extremely high build-and sonic quality, low noise & versatile Boost effect. Its additional use as a light Overdrive effects is just as effective in its field. I use this often on my Pedalboard, and would replace it immediately if it were lost or stolen. A bit pricey when initially purchasing, it makes up for that as you're buying a Professional Quality effect, and would not have any need to replace with a "better one" a year or so down the road. This is all one would need to cover this area of effects!
I have an Xotic AC Booster and it is one of my fav pedals. At the start of my chain – after the buffer – I have a Compressor, then an old DOD Preamp 250, followed by my AC. I like the sound, but had this setup for a while and was just looking to shake things up. I thought the RC ver 2 would be a great replacement for the DOD as what could be better than 2 xotics in series? Well, not this! The Comp (Wampler Ego; another pedal I like alot) did not play well with the RC. The sound was muddy and lost all definition. The RC alone was OK, but not great. Found the effect of Gain 1 to be pretty darn subtle and really not much better than my old DOD gain pedal. Had to crank RC Gain 1 to full CW to hear much – a very different pedal from the AC which is super responsive. I also found the adjustment for the RC Gain 2 pot to be very awkward for a quick adjustment onstage as is occasionally necessary between songs. So, I was pretty bummed out as I love the AC and I use an Xotic EP booster for regular lead boosts. Just did not work out for me. Hard to decide if I would recommend the RC. Personally, I am very picky about effects, usually use only 2 at most at one time (e.g. Comp + AC; EQ + Delay, etc.) . So I think i would say that I do not recommend…but you may like it.BCY123
I'm surprised at how much I use this pedal. I bought it to boost the signal of passive basses and it does that and a lot more. The EQ points are right where you need them. And because you can preset those as well as the volume, when you switch to a passive bass in the middle of a live performance there is no time wasted fiddling with knobs trying to match the sound of your active bass. Also it's useful as a clean boost on active basses for those times when your hands are busy and you can't adjust your amp in the middle of a song. Just pre-set the pedal to a little boost and any time you need it, you've got it with a quick stomp of the foot. The third use I find for this pedal is with effects. You can use it to put a little boost before any overdrive/distortion pedal it will increase the gain. I love this because I like the sound of the Morning Glory pedal, but it doesn't get quite dirty enough. Most pedals that get as dirty as I want don't sound the way the Morning Glory does so this is perfect for me. And the other way it's useful is to add bottom end to distortion pedals (which are famous for not supporting the low end very well). Preset a little bass boost and when you stomp the overdrive/distortion pedal also click on the Xotic RC.PDGood

Let me start off by saying this pedal just arrived today. I've played through it for about an hour. I spent about 30 seconds adjusting the knobs. This thing is killer. It's super easy to dial in. Within 2 minutes I was blown away. It just adds something I didn't even know that I needed. It is currently on sale for and at that price it's a complete no brainer. I wouldn't even be upset if I paid full price. I would have been just as pleased. I have it set as a slight boost with a little compression right before my walrus voyager. It's just an incredible tone machine at a price that is almost laughable. Stop reading my review and buy one NOW! Call up my boy nick Graham and it'll be at your house before the sun goes down. The quality components of this overdrive pedal allow precise tweeking. The tone that I look for in this pedal is just enough seasoning to compliment in certain compositions of smooth jazz which the "Flux Drive" is quite able to deliver. The Level is set at 9am – the Gain at 11 – the Bass at 1pm – the Treble at noon. I have the Flux Drive pedal before my Boss DS1 in the signal chain. Gotta Put My 2 Cents Worth Out There About The M148, Most Reviews Here Are Right On The Money! For Starters, Do Not Be Put Off Because Of The Single Control, That Is Not An Issue With This Pedal! That One Knob Will Take You To Chorus Heaven. Like Others Have Stated Here, I Too Have Used Many Chorus EFX, Both Pedal And Rack, Rarely Impressed, Just Could Not Dial In That Elusive Tone, After While You Give Up And Sell Off About Every One, Then There Comes A Sort Of Avoidance Of That Effect All Together, Just Never Got That Full And Round Sound That Comes From Analog Design! Not Saying That One Size Fits All With The M148, But Dang, It IS Good And Soooo Simple To Dial In Those Vintage Tones! Gotta Give It Up For The Design Team At MXR, The Parameters And Sweep Of the Micro Chorus Preset Control Are Very Useable Indeed; No Fiddle and Faddle, Sweet Chorusing It Is Just There at The Turn Of One Dial. Of Course There Are Many Kinds and Types of Chorus, And Numbers Of Modern Players Have Good Luck With Digital Modualation Designs, Then There Are The Hard Core "Old School" Guys Who Build Their Sound Around The Fatter And Warmer Analog Classic Circuits, I Am Of The Latter Persuasion And Oh So Fussy About The High End In My Chorusing, If It Is Thin And Edgey, Than That Is Not Gonna Work For Me; This IS Where The Micro Excells With A Smooth And Full Chorus That Is Not Overly Bright Or Processed Sounding; Even A Telecaster Can Sound Rich On This Pedal, Neck Pickup Of Course!–Some Of The Best Rhythm We Have Heard! My Biggest Complaint Is That All The MXR Stuff Is Getting Pretty Pricey, BUT For The Money, You Will Be Hard Pressed To Find A Better Sounding Chorus Pedal, And As For Ease Of Use, We Know Of No Other Make Or Model That Compares-A Clear Winner All Around!Richard E.
I am disappointed. The pedal darkens my sound, and that's with a twangy telecaster. It gets chimier the more you turn the knob up but too much saturation of the chorus. I was hoping for a similar chimey effect with less saturation when the knob was turned down. For now I can compensate with my EQ. Love the Phaser 95. Was hoping the chorus was similar in functionality within its sound.Jake

I actually sold my original Holy Grail and ended up buying the Holy Grail Neo because of the plate reverb – it's just so lush! I had looked at so many other reverbs (not wanting to repeat myself) but as a gigging musician who loves to tweak their sound mid-set, there is nothing better in this price range. I have to say I also tried the Oceans 11 pedal and was not impressed by the physical quality of the pedal. Also, the text on the pedal was barely readable because it is so small – maybe the Oceans 11is more suited to a home studio or someone who is still looking for their sound…Garry
Pedal has a small foot print which is good for saving pedal board space. one knob for the amount of reverb and a 3 way toggle switch (Spring, Hall and plate). Reverb range is really good and all 3 sounds are really usable. I use spring and plate for blues / classic rock and the hall for deep ambient sounds, when combined with other effects. overall very happy with this pedal, spent ages researching before splashing out the cash for this, but genuinely for me i'm happy with the return for the price on this unit. it;s one of those pedals that offers you insparation when you play due to the wide tonal range it has. overall very happy with purchase.Derek A.
Let me confess right up front, I'm a reverb lover. Some love it, some don't. I especially like a good reverb pedal when I play outdoors to add some of that room sound that I'm missing. This pedal is so direct and to the point. Three reverbs to choose from, all quite usable I might add, and the Reverb knob which controls the wet/dry mix. I don't have the time or patience to experiment all day long to get the right sound. I work full-time and gig on weekends. I need something like this Holy Grail Neo that is simple but effective. An added bonus is that it kind of matches my EHX Neo Clone. Right now I'm in love with the plate reverb but that could change next week. You can't go wrong with this pedal.Larry
20. Mxr – Csp039 – Duke Of Tone – Overdrive Pedal
Product Details:
Designed in conjunction with indie pedal builder analog man, the mxr duke of tone overdrive is for players who want to add a touch of warmth and grit to their rig while allowing the natural tone and feel of their high-end gear to shine. based on the prince of tone overdrive, the single-channel version of the king of tone overdrive, this pedal is a vintage connoisseur’s dream come true. analog mike personally tested and matched all of the various thru-hole components to the king of tone overdrive, ensuring that sweet sonic seasoning stays in the line of succession: a warm-yet-clear-and-open sound that allows all of the nuances of your signal chain to come through, from your individual guitar strings to the dynamics of your amp’s tubes. the duke of tone overdrive likewise carries forward the same simple-yet-effective control interface. volume, drive, and tone knobs cover all your basic tweaks while the boost/od/distortion switch allows you to set the overall attitude of the pedal’s output. boost mode gives you a clean-yet-vigorous bump, od mode adds a touch of grit and compression, and distortion mode adds a touch more of each. in all modes, your rig still sounds like your rig. don’t be afraid to get creative—the duke of tone overdrive is excellent when stacked with other gain pedals, and running the pedal on 18v will give you an extra helping of headroom and clarity, especially in boost mode. for a sound that’s yours, but only more of it, you can’t do better than the duke of tone overdrive from mxr and analog man. put one on your pedalboard, and elevate your signal chain.
