After long research and a round of tips from pros, I decided an EQ could help me refining the tones and finding the "sweet spot" for my rig. This unit has several advantages over the alternatives, mostly the number of frequency sliders and the 4 slot memory (+ the manual, which allows for 5 EQ setups to be reached quickly). It responds perfectly, to every slight change. The LCD screen shows the curve interactively, which is very helpful for the configuration. The main use I will initially have for it includes: tweaking the sound of humbuckers (to single coilish) an P90s. To play around, basically… As a booster, with a memory patch adjusted for that purpose. Lastly, it is not exclusive for guitar, as the the spectrum includes lower and higher cuts. So it is a good tool for recording other instruments as bass or piano, and I reckon It could be handy to experiment with voice recording as well.

I've had various Boss pedals over the course of 30 years and I have never, ever, not once had one that failed or malfunctioned. I wanted a cheaper alternative but what made me commit to this pedal, once again, was it's true bypass/buffer capabilities. I'm using this one differently than I've customarily have used them in the past. This is to be used in a pedalboard dedicated to an electrified Kalimba (pictured below). I'll be wiring it up soon. I bought this back In 2018, hoping to boost my output tones. I have a Roland electric kit that I run through our PA. The difference is night and day. I don't have to raise the drums main volume or the PA's input level as much to achieve the full sounding drum tones I met get. My bassist even bought one for his rig and has been extremely happy with his pedal as well. It's worth every penny. My only minor complaint is the placement of the AC power input. It's directly alongside the cable input. It's a little crowded there. Placing it top center on back side would be a better location especially if using it in a pedal board. Otherwise, I'd have given it 5 stars.
This pedal is alright. I use it sidechained into my compressor so I can't really comment on the tone. But it is pretty flimsy. I can see it eventually breaking in some way or another. I wish they had maybe used a metal casing instead of plastic. Also there should have been some detents put into the sliders. But for the price I guess I can't complain too much. If you're looking for something simple this could be beneficial.Midwest Russ

Bought this equalizer as an experiment to use between my behringer mini mixer and powered monitors. Monitors have no tone control, just volume and sounded a bit harsh in the mid frequencies. Was able to dial in a nice warm tone using this equalizer. No noise. No rack mounted eq to haul around. It was a win win. Perfect for sweetening up a small PA system. Will also use at some point on guitar and electric piano. Although the case is plastic and not metal, the device seems fairly solidly constructed. Have been using with a 9v battery with no issues. I've been playing guitar for several decades, mostly acoustic. I purchased this several weeks ago to add tone shaping through the effects loop of an Orange Micro Dark at home. The equalizer has been great for this application. The 7 sliders provide a near infinite amount of adjustment, allowing you to experiment and fine tune your tone. In addition, it is extremely quiet. The pedal feels heavy enough, but is made of (seemingly tough) plastic. The sliders are effective but I'm not convinced of their ruggedness through live gigs. This is my first Behringer product so have no first hand experience with long term reliability. I am very happy with this equalizer and for the price wonder why I hadn't added it long ago – it really is much more effective than few tone control knobs.C-ville Brent
This is a nice EQ pedal. It worked just fine and was 100% functional when I bought it new. The pedal is relatively quiet when pushing the front end of my Carvin low-gain amp. In the front of my Marshall however it was a little too noisy. The EQ parameters were quite usable and did a nice job shaping my tone. The gain function was less usable, again because of the added noise (hiss). This noise was apparent using the battery or a 9v adapter. The quality of the pedal is fine, but its 100% made of plastic. I had no usability problems with it, but you should be aware that it is in fact all plastic. Overall its worth 4 stars because for $25 its a great deal. However I spent a little more on a used MXR 10-band w a 18 volt power supply that is much more quiet when pushing my Marshall. If you want some EQ shaping and don't want to drop a lot of money, this pedal is probably your best bet. You have to spend about four times as much (or more) to get higher quality, and you have to decide whether that higher quality is worth four times the price.derald75

You can certainly change between generic guitar sounds easily. A start will not sound exactly like a les paul but certainly gets in the ball park and captured tone can be tweaked with the excellent tone controls before saving. Maar nu ik het ding een paar weken in huis heb, maak ik er steeds minder gebruik van. Het begint steeds meer tegen te vallen. Bedieningsgemak en afwerking zijn prima. Lekker klein=ideaal. Het capturen van een Les Paul met als target een Strat is wel oké. Je krijgt een veel zwaarder geluid dan met de standaard-Fender. Maar de sustain komt niet in de buurt van die van een echte Les Paul. Een Lucille-capture is al veel beter. Met een elektrische gitaar een akoestische capturen is gewoon niet oké. Delivers six different ways to color tone in a single box, for a rock-bottom price. You can use one at at time, which is really no drawback– just buy another one of these if you want to chain them. Experienced pedal users may have effects that are superior. But I'm a low-rent guy in a high-stress world, with no prior experience in pedals or tone shaping, and for me this is a gem. Instant therapy. A lot of fun, finding sounds that I've heard on songs and always wondered how people made them. I don't find it to be very noisy at the volumes employed in my apartment (duh), and a noise gate in my chain makes it virtually silent. The build quality is not an issue for me, at least so far. I won't be abusing it, and for the price, if I somehow manage to break the case… it's not a tragedy. It's a cool box for people like me who want inexpensive access to the world of effects. You get what you pay for. This pedal is fun to experiment with. Some effects are really good, others are not. The Flanger needs a high-cut filter. The Phaser is kinda weak and it sucks your tone. The chorus is really good. The delay would be really good, but it won't go slow enough for me. So I don't see myself using it. I don't like the Tremolo effect, but it seems to work fine in this pedal. The Pitch Shifter was my favorite effect in this pedal. It is sensitive to adjustments, but once I had it carefully dialed-in, it sounded great. The Level knob works great. It seems to blend the original signal with the selected effect nicely, without dropping the volume or sucking your tone. I use this pedal in the effects-loop of my amp head. The two parameter knobs seem to have a pretty big range. They go from subtle, to really wild. It takes some time to carefully adjust them to get the sound you are looking for. The knobs feel stiff when you turn them, which is nice. They will stay where you set them. Construction is plastic, so this pedal is not too durable, but it will be fine for home use. Overall, this pedal is great for the price. It has plenty of use-able sounds in it, but some of the effects are not perfect. This pedal would be great for new players, because it allows them to experiment with different effects to see what they like, and it doesn't cost much. I use a 1-spot power adapter with it, which works great.
This is a very good unit for it's price. I purchased it for my "little" amp when I go to friends place's to jam. My "big" amp has the same effects in it & are better. However, it does do the job I purchased it for. It is well made in China under German supervision. The Germans don't do rubbish products & that's what made me check it out. I'm not complaining about it at all, this is one of those "horses for courses" items. I have another pedal that does what this one does & more but it cost three times what this did. I'd recommend this to anyone that wants those effects but doesn't want to pay close to $200. My last remark is "you can't beat it for the price"Roger R.

This is a clone of a popular Boss pedal, and it succeeds in replicating the Boss' performance. It is 1/3 the cost of the Boss. Behringer has "copied" many name brand pedals, undercutting their high prices too. They are a German company with a huge music equipment production Chinese factory integrated 'city' that they manage. The engineering is German. Assembly is in China. I don't know where Boss is assembled. Aside: I also have a small Behringer amp that rivals a particular Fender in every way. (I really like Fenders, btw). It's a copy of sorts, but with simulated vacuum tube solid state circuitry. It also sports a 2" larger speaker – a Bugera. This noise reduction pedal's guts are encased in a heavy plastic box. It looks/feels like it will take normal to harsh treatment without any ill effects. use this behind a high gain distortion to quiet the juicy bits in between your licks. it performed as well as the more expensive 'pig' pedal, so i went with this one. however, i would not recommend this for gigs, the low build quality won't take much abuse. those with busy logistics will be happier with a better, more expensive, rack-mounted solution. remember to read up on how the pros sculpt their sound and don't forget how useful a simple eq can be. 😉R Phillips
This is a great pedal for the price and it does what it was designed for! I was kind of skeptical about buying a product from a brand that gets a lot of bad rep on many reviews I have read about this pedal and a few other products from this brand, but it turns out those rumors aren't so true about this pedal giving them more feed back than what it can take away. It worked just fine for me after having some experience with some noise compressor a while back I had this thing set up and ready to play. I guess those critics of this pedal must not know how to set up a pedal or they have bad luck with getting bad gear. It's a little heavy for plastic, but that's why I don't recommend that you stomp on this pedal. All you have to do is press on it to turn it on and leave it on until you're finished playing. Over all I am proud I've purchased this, quiets my distortion that fizzes on my amp, but it's not to be used on the clean channel. I was disappointed in the sound this unit provided. Sounded good at home but was flat live. It pretty much cut my sound probably a quarter of what was normal to me. Had to turn it up which then caused feedback even with the double notch filter on. Had to tweak on the fly. I actually had to put a feedback killer in the soundhole of my Taylor to kill the feedback. This was all during my gig! Not cool. This box would probably be best for home studio stuff but I will Not gig with this unit ever again. P.s I love Boss. I own 2 Katanas and various pedals. I have been waiting for some time for the AD-10 to be available. I like the Boss AD-2 as well. But the AD-10 makes it so I don't need anything else. I can run AC or 6AA batteries for the power. Then adjustable gain in on 1 or 2 channels even 1&2 at the same time. Digital EQ on both channels. Adjustable Low Cut 10-990Hz , Mid adjustable 200Hz-5.0kHz, Treble, Presence, and Level of eq. Anti-Feedback Reduction, 2 notch switches. 3 Types of Acoustic Resonance (Think Aura) kind of. To me it sounds more woody and natural. You can adjust the tonal quality as well. It's a fully adjustable blend with the pickup. Off, Soft or Hard Compression, 3 Delay effects, 3 Chorus effects, 3 Ambiance/Reverb effects, Boost, 90sec Looper, extra Effects Loop, Tuner, 10 memory Preset Banks. Option for volume pedal or switches. Smaller than a iPad. Just played with the mic and pickup on using a Bose Compact 3 ft away at 97bd w no feedback. Fits perfectly in my SKB iSeries case. I Gig with two nylon string guitars a Andy Culpepper Spruce Blanca Flamenco with a LR Baggs Dual Source Pickup (Element and Mic) I run the Element into input 1 and Mic into 2. I mix the signals at 60%pu and 40mic. I do eq each separately. My other guitar is a Cordoba GK Studio Limited with the Fishman Presus Blend pickup. It's two sources a undersadle and mic blend. The AD-10 sounds great with the GKSL . For most gigs I see myself bringing the Guitar, Smal Case with Boss AD-10, and Bose L1s or Compact, with a few cables. For gigs with no AC I'll use same guitars, Boss AD-10 with batteries and a Behringer Europort MPA40BT. Good for outdoor wedding ceremonies or smaller gigs 75-150 people. The Boss AD-10 makes my life very easy. I will try using two Line 6G-30 for wireless functionality soon.Victor
The constant striving to make even a really great acoustic guitar sound as good on stage (especially through other people's PA systems) as it does in a studio with a Neumann mic is probably like looking for a musical unicorn. I've tried LOTS of Acoustic pedals and amps, and the AD-10 is likely to get closest. It sounds fine through my PA, a Fender Deluxe Reverb, a Boss Katana 100 and even a little Bose S1 Pro. The upside is lots of functions (meaning you can tweak endlessly); the downside is lots of functions (meaning that it has lots of menu items to get your head around). Other pluses of course: two inputs with separate levels and eq; usable effects, tuner, reverb, comp and boost; noise reduction (gets rid of slight whine when using Boss WL-50 wireless); will run off a powerbank; acoustic resonance (still not a Neumann in a studio but useful) and especially 10 memories: so I already have presets to suit a Taylor, a Fylde, a Seagull, a Sire, a J160E and a Tele with a Fishman Powerbridge and I'm deciding which guitars to use the rest on. The looper would not meet Sheeran requirements but it's handy if you want to solo over a verse/chorus pattern you previously played. So far very good, and the manual is reasonably easy to follow. Nearly 5 stars, but that's reserved for when a pedal is as good as a Neumann.Mick C.
