Initially intended to buy an Xotic EP Booster because I wanted to try the Echoplex thing out, but saw this little guy and figured…why not? I like it so much, I don't see the point in ordering the EP Booster anymore! Hits the front end of my Soldano in a way no overdrive has yet, and with no noise. Works equally well in front of my OCD pedal for a lead boost. And to all the people whining about the switch not clicking…whatever. I like that about the TC stuff and wish all pedal companies would make their switches "clickless". Great value, just buy it already! Thanks TC and Sweetwater!
This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I've had this pedal for about maybe 5 months, great pedal. The best thing to do is to always read your manual because this particular pedal shuts off. That feature is to save you battery power, or just being on too long when you walk away. I hadn't gotten use to that at first. It pays to read the manual to figure out how to do it. But the Selections in where the layout is for the different tones, for rock and roll, blues, heavy metal, and R&B is it great pedal.astringmusic
It' easy to blow an afternoon exploring the wide variety of sounds this pedal can produce. While many of the effects are great there are quite a few duds mixed in there. You just have to play. There doesn't seem to be that much logic as to how the effects are grouped. You really need to write down your favorites. Out of 100 effects I think almost anyone can find 20 that they really like. The Stomplab has some very good patches right out of the box better than most MultiFX units. I rarely get to say that. Since I like to try them all, I think it excels in areas that can outdo expensive pedals. The amps sound really realistic and have beefy snappy mids right in your face with great projection and pop. The tones are designed to sound good as you play with EQ settings the amps seem to stay in the zone of what you would expect an actual amp would do. The best way to really experience this is to plug into a Hi Fidelity home stereo etc. and listen to how detailed the mix is. There is a Tube Screamer that seems to actually enhance just about every amp you try it with when trying to get some edge. The clean amps are some of the best out of the box tube gain style sparkling U2 like rhythms with clearly defined picking separation. This is probably about as good as it gets for these type sounds. Very metal like ballading with chorus and delay. Def Leppard Bringing on the Heartache or Photagraph come off terrific. The crunch sounds are very realistic and the US Hi Gain is about as good as it gets for 80s Metal. I can compare this to the VT Plus series because I have it. This pedal sounds good and really excels with a Tube amp. The VT Plus is a tube hybrid and the 12ax7 single tube does add a touch of edge as it is cranked but the pedal is the same Engine and the edge is subtle and the Tube Screamer SIM sounds close. Any sound can be had and it records from the line out with very good definition. Most of the amp sims are very good with little tweaking and I think it has the most good amp Sims of any other multi fx unit. Has way more variables than the VT Plus amp series and it is one of my favorites for downright realistic amp sounds. Hard to believe it but, it stacks up well against the bigger floorboards in respect to tone alone. More controls on the bigger units sometimes can take you too far off base. It really is well designed and keeps you sounding good.

I purchased this one pedal to be all the pedals I don't want to buy as single units. I have an extensive pedal collection but I have grown tired of hauling around a pedal board filled with effect units I only use every now and then. I decided that a good way to remedy that would be to add a pedal that could function as simple delay, reverb, boost, and modulation. I have greatly reduced the amount of pedals on my board thanks to this unit. The weakness of the VOX Stomplab IG is in the distortion/overdrive/amp selection. I didn't find any that I found pleasing to my ears but I didn't expect to. I did find a few low gain overdrives that were acceptable but nothing I loved. I intended to keep my overdrive and distortion pedals my board anyway, so I wasn't worried about it. The compressor is solid, but a bit noisy. The delays and reverbs are quite good and I consider those alone, worth the price tag. my pedal board is now just a few choice pedals and the VOX stomplab IG serving as single and multi effect pedal. I absolutely love this pedal. The modeling, especially, is quite wonderful. It's basically everything in the Vox VTS series (I think it's called) in one pedal. Only thing I wish is that distortion/overdrive was as easy to select and control (independently of everything else) as much as the delay is. But that could just mean I still have learning to do. This is a great pedal for home recording or shows that you want to avoid bringing a loud amp. You can plug this right into a PA, choose the amp model you want and it sounds just like you have an amp right there. For the money I think this is a great accessory for any working guitarist to own.
I am trying really hard to like this. With regards to the preset effects, some 9fnthe sound pretty good. But some of them, it's like they are non existent or pretty horrible sounding. The other issue is you are supposed to bypass the effects. But of you do, your volume reduces so significantly that I either have to turn up the volume on the amp, or disconnect this thing all together and connect directly to amp. The last issue is that creating your own defects is pretty hard to understand. The instructions are not very helpful and it is pretty hard to understand the abbreviations used on the box to figure out what effect you are working with. Oh btw, you have to hold the power button down for a couple of second for it to turn on. If you don't it will seem it is not working. So, this thing is not horrible, but the verdict is out as to whether it is something that will end up collecting dust in a cornerJohn, G

Overall: I've been playing through a Headrush gigboard and needed something different that was just as easy to use, had plenty of tones that were inspiring, that didn't cost as much. I've owned a few Line 6 products over the 30 years of playing music and decided to buy the Pod Go. So worth it! The tones were better than expected, and if you can't afford the Helix series, this is the best choice for a floor unit under $500. The built in expression pedal with toe switch is perfect. You can switch between volume and wah wah or other parameters just by pressing the toe switch in the expression pedal. Basically you don't have to have another expression pedal. The built in pedal can do what you need. I am not tech savvy, I bought the Headrush gigboard last year because of how easy it is to use. I didn't think a floor unit could be. Then comes the Pod Go. It's actually much easier to use than the Headrush. Granted the two have different features but I found making your own sounds easier with the Pod Go. It seems I make them in a shorter time. The color display along with color footswitches make organizing sounds easier than making coffee. If you need a floor unit under 500 the Pod Go is the best choice on the market. If you're a metal head or a traditional Jazz player or love the complexity of Fusion, the Pod Go has your sound.
I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.
Overall: I wish I could say something positive about this unit. Although it does have some great sounds and features, the fact that it is constantly having to be rebooted because it freezes up or shuts down on its own make it pretty much worthless (Yes I’ve done all the updates and other futile suggestions from the support folks at line 6). Add to that a power supply that is a complete piece of crap. It’s cheap, fragile and generally a bad design. It is almost impossible to find a replacement because line 6 wanted it that way. Simply using a Standard, generic replacement (9v 2500 mA) Is tricky and not guaranteed to work. My review for this product: Look for something else better from a company who is not obsessed with nickel and diming their customers to death over some ridiculous accessory.

The Mosaic pedal is easy to use, and produces a realistic 12 string effect. It comes with it's own power supply, and I recommend using it as it seems to use quite a lot of energy to produce the effect. When I first connected it in my chain, powered by the wimpy Snark power supply, it didn't really work. The light came on when I pressed the on/off button, but the effect wasn't happening. Then I used the power supply that came with it. Suddenly, out came the shimmering sound of an electric 12 string. In short, it might not sound like a Rickenbacker, but its close enough, and much less expensive. If you want the sound of a 12 string, but don't want to spend the money, this may be the perfect substitute.jonaha650
Overall: Ive been using my Roland Gr-55 (w/ GK-3) to add 12 string shimmer to my sound for years. This little box is amazing! Tracking is impeccable, and the controls are so simple I was up and running within seconds! The metal box is sturdily built, and COMES with a muscular 9v, 1.3amp power supply(?!?!) Switching is silent, and the effect tracks tonal changes between pickups well enough that once dialed in, I dont need to touch the tone knob. If I get insanely picky, I kinda wish there was a separate out for the 12string sound, but that would negatively affect the affordable price and kind of defeat the 1 pedal= 2 instrument simplicity. I have both a 6 string and 12 string Rickenbacker. I don't normally like to take my 12 string gigging because I've got enough other gear to haul around and the 12 string is only used on a few songs. Plus all the associated issues with tuning, string replacement, swapping guitars, etc. The Mosaic does a pretty credible job of making my six string sound like a 12 string. It does not produce a perfect reproduction, but I find it good enough that I'm using it regularly. Considering the technology needed to generate the 12 string sound from a six string instrument, I'm actually very impressed that it does a good a job as it does. And the fact that it is polyphonic is icing on the cake. I've used electronic harmonizers to try and duplicate a 12 string sound, but they always failed in two areas. You could not play chords and the high B and E strings sounded just awful because the harmonizer would try and play notes an octave above on those strings as well (usually rendering this approach useless).. I found that the Mosaic gives a pretty credible 12 string reproduction on the E, A, D, and G strings. Fortunately the upper B and E strings do not get the octave treatment. They remain with the original pitch, but they don't quite have the full tonal resonance of a true 12 string. It isn't bad, just not quite perfect. All in all, I feel its a good product, does a good enough job and I'm happy with the 12 string emulation. At a point several years back I only owned Active Basses, but in the space of two months proceeded to acquire several High-End Basses with Passive Electronics, I was in need for something in my signal chain to raise the output of the Passives to the level of my Active Basses. I took the advice of a close friend who's a true "Professional Bassist" who also knows a great deal about the technical issues of Pedalboards, Large-Scale Amplification and such and picked up the Xotic Bass RC Booster which was the highest-quality he could recommend (I'd rather spend the money once rather than upgrade from a "Beginner's Pedal" to a "Midrange Model" and so on…) That was once of the best pieces of advice I've been given in terms of gear, as to this day the Bass RC Booster is a main piece of equipment on my Pedalboard. Between the 2-Band EQ, Gain & Volume controls I'm able to raise the level of my own Passive Basses or a Bass that I'm using at a Jam or Open Mic to the levels of my Active Bass, which I have all adjusted to Unity Gain as to cause as little issues as possible. Two surprising use of note: with a minimal increase in Volume the Pedal becomes just as useful as a Volume Boost to both Passive & Active Basses for solos, drum 'n bass breakdowns and other times where it's necessary to step out into the spotlight a bit more. Secondly, when the Gain is pushed towards the higher registers you can even can a quite useable "SVT"-type Overdrive. Even players who play with a clean tone will certainly find this added bonus helpful in both live and studio situations. To sum up the Xotic RC Bass Booster, it's an extremely high build-and sonic quality, low noise & versatile Boost effect. Its additional use as a light Overdrive effects is just as effective in its field. I use this often on my Pedalboard, and would replace it immediately if it were lost or stolen. A bit pricey when initially purchasing, it makes up for that as you're buying a Professional Quality effect, and would not have any need to replace with a "better one" a year or so down the road. I have an Xotic AC Booster and it is one of my fav pedals. At the start of my chain – after the buffer – I have a Compressor, then an old DOD Preamp 250, followed by my AC. I like the sound, but had this setup for a while and was just looking to shake things up. I thought the RC ver 2 would be a great replacement for the DOD as what could be better than 2 xotics in series? Well, not this! The Comp (Wampler Ego; another pedal I like alot) did not play well with the RC. The sound was muddy and lost all definition. The RC alone was OK, but not great. Found the effect of Gain 1 to be pretty darn subtle and really not much better than my old DOD gain pedal. Had to crank RC Gain 1 to full CW to hear much – a very different pedal from the AC which is super responsive. I also found the adjustment for the RC Gain 2 pot to be very awkward for a quick adjustment onstage as is occasionally necessary between songs. So, I was pretty bummed out as I love the AC and I use an Xotic EP booster for regular lead boosts. Just did not work out for me. Hard to decide if I would recommend the RC. Personally, I am very picky about effects, usually use only 2 at most at one time (e.g. Comp + AC; EQ + Delay, etc.) . So I think i would say that I do not recommend…but you may like it.BCY123
I'm surprised at how much I use this pedal. I bought it to boost the signal of passive basses and it does that and a lot more. The EQ points are right where you need them. And because you can preset those as well as the volume, when you switch to a passive bass in the middle of a live performance there is no time wasted fiddling with knobs trying to match the sound of your active bass. Also it's useful as a clean boost on active basses for those times when your hands are busy and you can't adjust your amp in the middle of a song. Just pre-set the pedal to a little boost and any time you need it, you've got it with a quick stomp of the foot. The third use I find for this pedal is with effects. You can use it to put a little boost before any overdrive/distortion pedal it will increase the gain. I love this because I like the sound of the Morning Glory pedal, but it doesn't get quite dirty enough. Most pedals that get as dirty as I want don't sound the way the Morning Glory does so this is perfect for me. And the other way it's useful is to add bottom end to distortion pedals (which are famous for not supporting the low end very well). Preset a little bass boost and when you stomp the overdrive/distortion pedal also click on the Xotic RC.PDGood

Always heard a lot about the Holy Grail and the Soul Food pedals, and wondered what the fuss was all about. Found out.I have a half dozen od pedals ( Ts-808, BD,DOD) and they all have there place on the board, but this one has a different growl than the others. Not as brittle as the BD, yet not as smooth as the TS. Not overpowering, just the "right " amount. Needed a reverb pedal too.The Defender amp I use has Dark Vader spring reverb, but not on a foot switch. There is a switch that let's you choose between spring, hall, and plate reverbs, as well as a reverse reverb. The first three sound very good. Can't really find a use for the reverse though. Maybe it sounds different to me mites in Austrrrralia , since everything is supposed to be backwards down under. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one pedal, this would be it. It's a good, simple pedal. Not the greatest but something you can cut your teeth on if you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with effects pedals. Has a nice chimey almost a touch of flange effect along with the chorus to give it a unique voicing. A little tiny bit noisy but its to be expected of warm analog sound. I find it best to put it in the effects loop on your amp. Doing this quiets it down a bit and takes care of a small volume drop in the pedal. Overall I'm happy with the pedal. It's pretty good. For people who don't know about chorus pedals, this is an equivalent to the MXR Micro chorus, which first came out in 1981. It is a very satisfactory pedal for its type. It made its debut with the 'XO' series of compact Electro Harmonix pedals. In my opinion, it is complimentary to the variety of chorus pedals that Electro Harmonix has, and it DOES provide great expression.MFH

Having gone back and forth between digital / emulated effects and analog / practical effects, I decided to add a Small Clone to my pedalboard. If I had one complaint about the unit, it would be that it has a switch for two different depth settings instead of an adjustment pot. That said, when I plugged in I found that of the two settings available for depth there is one that suits me just fine. The pedal is very quiet, and does not color my tone in any way. True bypass is always an added benefit. Electro Harmonix builds these pedals to last, and I can’t see myself ever moving to another chorus pedal from this one. I’m in love. The Small Clone gives an awesome chorus effect to your sound! I always wanted that full warm grunge sound and so I figured why not put that icing on that cake and get the gear the legend himself used. As a solo acoustic finger style player, I was looking for a very subtle effect to enhance instrumental parts. I've owned other choruses in the past, and was skeptical at its rather large size and single control knob–and only a depth switch. I was pleasantly surprised. I run depth on high, the control knob on low, and get a nice fat–but subtle-melodic sound from my Martin. I haven't experimented with it much, since I'm so pleased with this setting. Good value, well made-though perhaps rather 20th century style–and USA made. Just what I wanted for a slightly different sound to bounce between my vocal parts and instrumental/lead parts. The foot switch is loud, but not enough to affect my performance. All in all, very pleased.2 birds

Great little device. Different to a looper. Great for creating background washes of tonal color on-the-fly. If you got adept at it, you could use it to great effect in live performance. Personally, I use it to practice scales and arpeggios. Very effective and easy to use. I don't know how different or similar the electronics are, but it would be great to see this device combined with a looper. They're similar in concept. An extra stomp switch combination, and you could be looping, not just freezing. Not a criticism. Just a suggestion.jamesbwar
This is a great little pedal! Whether I need to sustain a note or chord while playing/riffing over the chord, and/or using it to hold a note in a live performance, this pedal can do it. It's a seamless sustain pedal that you can't hear when it's turned on or off. This far exceeded my expectations. It's a nice pedal it's like a sustain pedal for the piano but for the guitar. Really fun to use. Been using it on my gigs ever since I got it. Works great for ballads and intros. The only issue is the foot button makes a loud click. Seems that they would have put a silent one in over the loud clicking one. Also wondering why they couldn't have made it more like an actual pedal like a wah or volume pedal… I've never seen one for the guitar so I imagine it has something to do with capturing the sound. But electro-harmonix if you're reading there's an idea for you. I know a lot of guitarists that would love a pedal that you can work like a true sustain pedal.Marco

This thing is unbelievably excellent. I’m down with serious chunk and couldn’t find a pedal anywhere that tickled my fancy of fatness of tones and clean as a whistle chugging. If you want metal, this will give you the sound you want, the thing has six knobs and they all do great differences in tone and distortion. My mate is a full blown metaller gtar ist and scoffed at me buying this thing. He came round and I said that I wanted to hear him thru this pedal so he did after I dialed him in to my liking amd he blew himself away with me alongside him He now has one too!!!! HahahaGeoff K.
The distortion operation is like MT-2. Sound and operation is similar, But it has differernt knobs for min settings. Distortion levels quickly passes overdrive/crunchy so it it not usable for that. Bass level is not usable after 2 o'clock setting. Treble and mid levels and mid frequency levels change a lot sound. Level setting is use fun if you don't want to load the amps input and cause additional distortion… Battery changing is easy.

Overall: Finally got another Whammy V after missing my prior one in a "stupid-sell all-great new multi unit dumb idea". Not sure what to say about this pedal as it would seem of the many vids I have seen on it, I cast doubt if anyone really can understand how to use it without having one for a time. I constantly hear this "weeeeoooo" thing and really that might be of use now and then but what nails this pedal for me is the harmonizer mode section. 8va's and 4ths,5ths, utterly amazing. This is not so much a moving the pedal thing as everyone seems to want to do. Most of th etime mine is parked up or dwn for a specific harmony or maybe a sweep of low to high octave, play a version of Dazed and Confused using this and you may just never be the same. The lowered 5th harmonizer mode on this puppy is probably one of the best all time tones I have ever had the pleasure of playing. A harmonizer, with no set key or scale restriction, polyphonic tracking, true bypass, I'd pay more just for that. The DT model is cool but I am not really doing step tuning variants. Anyway, this pedal is sooooo much better than what you will hear being done on typical vids. Mastering this puppy will afford you a range of really cool tone possibilities nothing else can muster. Those who hate this pedal suffer from the terrible videos of it or the old models that glitch and burble from only being monophonic tracking. The buffer has been removed and this is improved poly tracking tech! Full bandwidth 1M ohm and out. Simply no comparison tech wise to the previous models.Whambam
I love how certain players use this pedal. Bucketed is the absolute master of the Digitech Whammy. I like Buckethead and got a whammy to try for myself. The only time I actually use it during performance as a ad-lib bit. The problem is that when its engaged it sucks the life out of your tone. Its like going from an all tube amp to using an iRig to play your guitar through your cell phones speakers. The effects are crazy awesome though. People that don't know gear that hear you play, bug out when they are trying to figure out how in the world you are getting those crazy sounds. The pedal needs recalibrate all the time. For no reason, even when you have the pedal on heel down, when you engage the unit the pitch will shift. The dive bomb effects are crazy for weird rumbling effects. All in all, typical of my experience with Digitech, they aren the best effects tonally. But if you want to go weeeee-ooohhhhh, weed-ohhhhhh a bunch for the fun of it, this is your pedalSpaceman Spiff
Bought this in a heartbeat to replace my Digitech Whammy IV, which is a fantastic pedal but lacks the sound quality and additional features of this latest version: the Whammy V. For the uninitiated: The Digitech Whammy is a versatile pitch-shifting, harmonizer, octave, drop-tune, and chorus pedal used extensively by at least one of your favorite pro guitarists: Johnny Greenwood, Tom Morello, Jack White, Matt Bellamy, Buckethead, and countless others. I use it not just to replicate parts of their songs–Johnny's +2-octave riff in "Just", the solo in "Like a Stone", the "bass" line in "Seven Nation Army"–but in plenty of my own songs, both live and in the studio. The construction is solid and designed for both touring and in-studio use–durable but not too heavy, big but not obnoxious. Next, the upgrades: This new Whammy comes with two huge improvements. The first is true-bypass switching. Previous models are well known for being tone-sucking beasts, and although there is still a noticeable change in your sound when this latest version is on, when it's off it's off. The other massive upgrade is polyphonic tracking while pitch-shifting, which means it can shift entire chords up or down without sounding glitchy or garbled (e.g., "My Iron Lung"). For people who like that glitchy Whammy IV sound and want the option to use it, there's now a Classic/Chords switch which lets you do just that. On the cosmetic side, Digitech renamed a few modes, reorganized the layout, and brought back the Whammy logo on the expression pedal. All of these upgrades are godsends for long-time users. There is no unity gain on this. Even with the volume maxed it reduces the volume. I guess brown is a good color for it because it is muddy sounding too, lacks clarity and doesn't cut through a mix. I couldn't get a good sound out of it at any setting. Very disappointing distortion.Jonas

I preordered this on AMS without, obviously, trying it out. I had only seen some clips from NAMM, etc. I wanted a ‘noisemaker’ more than anything…a little secret weapon with another flavor on my board. It’s a lot of fun so far. It mentions that it’s not intended for chords like several times in the manual. But honestly, that’s where it gets cool & weird. Like, seriously science fiction stuff. Try it with an expression pedal! I have one for my EQD Avalanche Run so I tried it out on the Mono Synth for kicks and it opened up a whole new level. Being monophonic, some of the sounds require you to be very deliberate when playing as even a slight slurring of notes can cause the pedal to have a little mental breakdown. Overall excellent. I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean
I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. This is a very intuitive and great sounding unit with excellent reviews. feature-rich with plenty of effects as well as a 30 minute(!) looper and synthesizer. cosmetically it's in quite nice shape with home studio use only. after the latest firmware was installed, for some reason the backlight on the display will sometimes flicker. it's always legible and everything works like it should. maybe just a simple software bug, though as stated perfectly usable/readable at all times. original power included with a repair on the cord as shown. overall an excellent user piece.

Das Pedal nutze ich aktuell mit Anschluß an die Return Buchse eines Röhren Amps. Für die Inbetriebnahme habe ich zunächst die Studio Software auf dem Notebook installiert und danach zunächst die Firmware des Boards aktualisiert (völlig problemlos). Nach dem Einschalten überraschen zunächst die blinkenden LEDs, die Verwirrung hat sich bei mir aber sofort gelegt da man auf Anhieb auch ohne Bedienungsanleitung direkt einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Funktionen erhalten kann. Positiv für mich ist das sehr gut ablesbare TFT Display, lediglich die Beschriftungen auf dem darunter liegenden Effektblock sind für mich als Brillenträger etwas zu klein. Auch die sonstige Optik lässt im Hinblick auf dezente Farbgestaltung keine Beanstandung zu. Die Umschaltung der Presets über die Bänke mit je 4 Sounds pro Bank war bereits beim 2. Blick als gute Idee eingestuft. Die Navigation wird durch sinnvolle Eigengestaltung der Bänke enorm erleichtert. Klanglich stufe ich die normalen Effekte als sehr gehobenes Mittelfeld ein. Die Klangvielfalt "erschlägt" im ersten Moment (sooo viele Effekte brauche ich eigentlich gar nicht). Innerhalb weniger Minuten konnte ich bereits eigene Presets mit Amp Modelling und Effekten herstellen (intuitiv ohne Anleitung). Aufgrund fehlender Expertise kann ich den Sound schwer mit anderen Boards vergleichen. Jedenfalls klingen die Sounds sehr gut. Testweise habe ich ein eigenes Preset basierend auf einem Cleanen Mesa Mark IV erstellt und mit dem Klang des physischen Mesa Studio Caliber DC2 verglichen. Der Board Sound ist in der Default Einstellung vielleicht etwas transparenter im Klang es fehlt im direkten Vergleich jedoch etwas an tiefen Mitten und Bässen. Mit etwas Tweeking konnte dies sehr schnell mitigiert werden. Der physische Verstärker hat zusammengefasst deutlich mehr Druck und ein wenig bessere Ansprache. Betonen möchte ich dass durch den Synthie und das ToneCap Feature das Board einen enormen Zusatzwert generiert. Die Synthie Presets finde ich bereits sehr gut und der erste ToneCap einer Jazz Gitarre war ebenfalls erfolgreich (sehr einfach durchzuführen und das Resultat hat mich sehr positiv überrascht – einen Jazz-Sound mit einer Strat hinzubekommen war bisher nicht in meinem Ideenfeld). Zusammengefasst bin ich bisher sehr zufrieden.

Overall: This is purely a review on the quality of the product itself not based on the sound. For the price I am beyond disappointed on the quality of this pedal. The knobs are gritty, and make a noise when you twist them. They are so tall that your toes will hit them every time you turn the pedal on and off. The on/off buttons feel fragile, they won’t last very long. One the most infuriating things about this pedals design is the expression switch. It’s a inch away from the on off switch and like with everything else on this pedal feels fragile and will most likely get stepped on and broken off. The box is grey and the labeling is light blue which makes reading the pedal harder than it should have to be. Over all I’m feeling stupid for spending $400 after tax on this pedal.Nick

From slight dirt to full on creamy plexi distortion. It’s all there. Cleans up with the guitar volume knob. Pairs well with other exotic effects. I have two SL drives, one for grit and the other set for lead, as well as an exotic AC booster before to add a bit of boost. I run the EP booster at the end for nice volume boost. I chose the SL Drive from a huge amount of drives on the market as I wanted something that fit on a small pedalboard, could provide a Marshall style sound at all gain levels as an alternative to amp gain, and which could work well with the BB MB pre-amp also by Xotic. This pedal really delivers. Although it takes time to set up and find the best sounds for personal preference, it provides a variety of useful tones across the spectra of volume, gain, and equalisation. The design is just so thoughtful and I like the possibility of running it at 18v, although at the moment 9v is better to my ears. I've had the SL drive for awhile now and try as I might I can't find anything that can kick it off my board. I've tried numerous other amp in a box pedals(Marshall and otherwise),overdrives and distortions but I keep coming back to this little guy. I guess I keep trying because I find it hard to believe that a pedal this small and this inexpensive(relatively) can't be outdone. I use this in conjunction with a standard Tumnus and the 2 together just can't be beat for me and I'm done spending $ trying.mike smith

Still the best. Price increased only by $10 since inflation hit the pedal market, so not too bad. Tried many others. Still my go-to pedal. Heavy, fits my foot nicely. Not to small or large. L/R in/out, plus exp jack. Tension setting helps for fine tuning volume control. Recommend remove base plate and blow out rheostat once a year or so. I needed a pedal to help me get my volume right at shows….Using the gtr volume control and or a volume pedal in front of my pedal board just changes the drive into the FX. I get everything nicely balanced in the studio or at home, and then each venue has odd sound characteristics and sometimes I am too loud in my rhythm and too soft in my leads & no time to get everything adjusted just right. So I wanted a simple master volume pedal after all the FX and before the amp…(did not want to hassle with more cables needed for the FX loop). I have tried them all…none worked well for me….Well, here is what I learned: This pedal has a min volume control which allows more accurate setting of the pedal to the volume I need mid-song. This control was key, allowed me to zero in on the volume easily as small changes in the pedal position did not produce huge changes in volume. The pedal does not cut the quality, at least not in noisy bars and restaurants. So it's very good. But the real point is after years of not doing the volume thing well with my right foot I discovered that I was much better at the task using my left foot…and I am right handed!! This has changed everything. Turns out, the issue was my right leg is way sturdier to stand on and control the volume with my left foot. If you have a problem with this type of thing, just try your other foot. The pedal and this simple foot change basically solved the issue. I am not perfect, but way better than before and I get better with each gig!!BC 123
Our keyboard player also plays steel guitar. We built a stand that integrates with the keyboard, so she can switch between keyboard and steel very quickly. We now own two of these volume controls. The first one is mounted to the effects pedal attached to our keyboard. The other is a spare. We use channel 1 for keyboard volume control and channel 2 for steel guitar volume control. It saves us from cluttering our board with two pedals. I wish we could run stereo keyboard, but we forgo that for practicality. We like the overall feel of the FV-500L Stereo Volume Pedal. The coolest noise reduction effect on the market. Allows only one handle to achieve optimal noise reduction. The presence of the loop makes it even more versatile. The only minus is weight, but the pedal is so strong that you can only break it with a tank. The best noise reduction pedal for life in your pedal board. The pedal is 100% working out its price.
