    I play metal primarily, and because of my enthusiasm for Gibson, I purchased these picks. So far, these are the best picks I've ever used. The feel is great, the tone is unmatched. The celluloid feels so smooth when I'm playing. I prefer thin picks, as the flexibility enables faster tremelo picking. The only downside is that, comparatively, these picks are expensive (as are all of Gibson's products), but of top quality. The tip wears off quickly, but I'm an agressive player and I use thin picks, so I guess that's inevitable. Great picks, try them out!Explorer85

    I had purchased the Gibson 50 pic set because I have been using the Gibson Pure celluloid pics originally when I first got my Les Paul about 4 years ago. These are the closest good quality pics you will find to those Gibson Pure's. I love them because they feel right, play right and also don't change the sound. I can tell because I have a very keen sense of hearing. They're a tiny bit wider than the ones I used to use but it's not a problem at all. It's the same material as the other ones. These pics truly bring out the sound of your guitar and are great on Acoustics as well. I have been using these new pics for about 4 months now and completely satisfied. This set will probably last a lifetime. If you like playing Gibson pics, these are the ones you need to buy.

    I really like these picks. The thumb and finger make skin contact through the star-shaped hole. For some reason this works for me to almost eliminate pick dropping. It also gives a tactile point of reference when holding the pick. You know exactly where the pick is between the thumb and finger. The hole also acts as a pivot point if your are changing between the blunt side and the point of the pick. Not everyone likes these picks, but come to think of it, I don't like everyone.     I used to hole-punch the centers of my picks to help with grip. The star shaped hole on Star Picks does it one better by adding little teeth that grip even better. I have liked these for years and usually bought them singly or in packs of a dozen because that's the way they came. A bag of 50 for this price is terrific. After trying many gauges, I settled on the 0.60 thickness with 0.73 now and then, so I bought a bag of each. Like I said, if you already like these picks, buying them 50 at a time is great.     Good value for the sheer quantity of picks in the box. They are rather cheap, and wear out pretty fast. However, I use thick flatwound strings and have a fairly agressive playing style, so that probably is a catylist to the issue at hand. Overall if you want a box full of okay picks for a decent price, go for it.vandalman101
