The Hal Leonard Acoustic book is fantastic. I am a guitar teacher working in schools with children. This is going to be a book that I recommend my students purchase. There is a huge variety of licks with a complete song at the end of each section. The CD is great to have too.

It introduces the basics of reading music for guitar, which is a very needful fundamental. I have been more of a player by-ear and sorta missed the basics of reading.
