This is a great multi effects pedal/DI. Its all I need. Dont let its small size fool you. Its got some weight to it, so I assume its probably well built. All metal. Each effects sections knobs light up a different color. Tuner is accurate. I didnt give a full 5 stars because I wouldve liked a rate knob in the chorus section & maybe some more options in the compressor section. Overall, I recommend this pedal. Pleasantly surprised with the build & sound quality. I doubt Ill use the Dirty Q (envelope filter) much but its there if I need it. Spend a little time with each section of this pedal & Im sure you will find at least one setting youll like!fuelman1975

Pretty much the best headphone amp for bass. The world of multi effects is moving so fast right now that if you just want a cheap multi effects unit, you’re better off paying the tiny amount extra for a valeton gp100 or similar. But for just practicing with headphones this is amazing, it’s small, light and portable. It runs off AA batteries, 9v or any USB charger/battery pack and outs to headphones or amp. Plug in headphones, a track from your laptop or whatever and jam. Forget all the terrible headphone amps like the amplugs or the overpriced ones like the fender micro and just use one of these instead. For practicing wherever whenever with a solid bunch of effects 5*. Overall review 4* just because purely as a multi effects pedal it is a bit outdated and underfeatured, but the portability means it still has a great place for practicing.jon m.

I enjoy B1X4 alot. I bought it to have the capabilities to access different sounds on my bass rig. But most importantly is the expression pedal. I use a wah pedal alot in my playing. It has a good stock clean wah sound and a good distortion wah sound. I dig that so much for the value. The best part of this unit is the ease of adjusting the levels and settings of each patch. This board gets 4 stars from me. It's great for studio work and practice but for stage work it's plastic, small and delicate body could get damaged easily. I'm a big guy with large feet and sometimes I would hit both pedals which brings up the tuner. I have since added a bass crybaby wah pedal, a pre-amp,fuzz,octave, compression pedal unit and a chorus pedal to my arsenal and still use the B1X4 together on my pedal board all together. It serves as a tuner and I use a few patches on it. It serves me so very well. The Zoom B1X Four is a great board with many, many uses and advantages for any bass player at all levels.1978circa3-9

Overall: This is a super cool effects unit for the price point. You can spend $100.00 or more on JUST a volume pedal or a looper or a rhythm unit separately. To have all of these plus the great sounds in this package is the true definition of bang for the buck. This is the best effects box for someone like me: A beginner in the world of stomp boxes who wants to explore the sounds of different amp & effect combinations.A BIG thanks to you all at zZounds. I just tested all 100 presets {00-99} and I found many usable sounds from this pedal. I will probably just make slight changes to some of the presets before I record. This pedal is built pretty well… sturdy. The Wah sounds are fun to play, some are wild and out of control. I found at least 1 usable sound in all genres!! I wanted a Bass Effects pedal and Vox came through!! Great Price!!Martin

This box is compact, portable and powerful. There are many preset effects, of which all are tweak-able. You also have a place to copy effects to and save as a hot list of effects. Runs on battery or power pack. The unit has a great bass tuner. Seems more accurate for a bass than some general tuners I have used. Overall – a great product at a fair price!HbgBob

This pedal Is quite a bit bigger that it looks sound wise anyway. Lots of tones. Takes 4 AA's can't really say I liked that much. The battery case is fixed to the bottom panel. So a person needs to be careful when changing them. There is 2 real flimsy wires that come back off and attach to the PCB side of the box. It wouldn't take much force at all to rip them off. The wait of the 4 AA's would do it just fine. I don't use the batteries and keep is screwed shut and use a power cord. Nothing to really worry about doing that. The rest of unit itself is tough though the sids are plastic. It gets it far share of use and still works grate not to mention its one of my favorites right now. I just grab it and go. I don't have to lug the rest of the pedals. If you stay ready you don't got to get ready.codemandeluxe

Great pedal, exceptional value for money! Sounds great, can get some real bass tones through it without sacrificing too much and with little to no feedback when cranked up. Only issue is that I’d say better quality switches could be used, feel a little cheap and heavy when switching but other than that, ace! Helix is fantastic for all studio musicians. You can construct so many different sounds with it. Since 3.0, the Helix is a complete package as far as guitar processors go: you have all different amps, cabs, effects, acoustic sim, synths, polyphonic transposition, harmonization, oversampling. Lots of in/outs, lots of ways to route it. The workflow is great: you have the computer editor. You can back up/restore your Helix, email the backup to yourself, etc. The Helix can absolutely replace your entire signal chain and be used as the only piece of gear to process your guitar sounds. The same could not be said about the Helix when it was on earlier firmware versions. Now, the Helix itself is very cheaply made. I thought I'd purchase one and never need to use anything ever again– wrong! After about a year of light use, the buttons stopped working reliably, then an LED stopped working. Helix is assembled using cheap Chinese parts that are tiny! For example, the footswitches are not what they appear to be–there are tiny tactile microswitches underneath. The Helix will not withstand nonstop gigging for more than a year, unless it's regularly serviced/cleaned, etc. It's a real shame because it can sound great, but something is always failing, or about to fail.Dimitri

Overall: I just received the Helix Rack yesterday so I only have a few hours in the drivers seat but that's enough to learn how truly awesome this thing is. I've owned a lot of Line 6 products over the last 20 years, in fact I still have a spider V240 and a POD HD Pro X but the Helix is so far out of their league they will probably never get used again in my studio. The design is sleek, easy to navigate, user friendly and just all around beautifully designed. The large full color screen is not only eye catching but makes navigating the menus effortless. Even though I'm modeler savvy, I've had no previous experience with Impulse Responses, in fact, I hadn't even heard of them until I started researching the Helix Rack and quite honestly I didn't think that I would care to use them… Well… I was wrong. It's amazing what these things do for the quality and authenticity of my tones when recording. As I mentioned earlier I only have 2 days under my belt at this point but most of that has been recording scratch tracks just to hear the result of these I.R's. I also love the fact that Line 6 still adds all of the necessary physical knobs and controls to their equipment in the days of everything being digital. The idea that I can play almost uninterrupted while tweaking many different parameters on the unit itself without a pedal is always a selling point for me. Not taking anything away from the foot controller but when I'm seated in front of my rack, using my hands to adjust the unit itself is just somewhat more convenient at times. Next, the user space… I thought that my POD HD Pro X had a lot of space for user presets but It has nothing on the Helix. I will probably never fill all of the user List's or even come close to it but It's always better to have something and not need it than to need something and not have it. Also, let me jump back to the large screen again, I have a laptop on which I keep all of my editing software for my studio equipment. I always plug in my Spider V240 and POD and use the Spider V Remote and POD HD Pro X edit software respectfully because in most cases sitting behind my recording console and tweaking my sound is just much easier to do with the computer apps than the equipment. The Helix is the first and only piece of equipment I've owned where the display is laid out and organized in a way that is very similar to a computer or tablet app and so even though I have the Helix Edit app running on my computer right next to me, making adjustments on the front of the Helix Rack in many cases is actually easier and faster than grabbing a mouse and using the comp app. I could write much more describing my total satisfaction thus far but I will wait 'till I have used it for another month or so and update my review at that time. I will leave you with this thought. While conveying my total happiness to my brother last night regarding the Helix Rack, I went so far as to say that I feel that this could be the last guitar processer I ever buy and if not it's pretty close.Fred

Whenever I turn on this pedal, distortion or not it sounds like someone just woke up a beehive, The actual clean sound is pretty good but when you really dig into the pups it starts to make that pop sound louder which is a big issue for me at least, (shouldn't be due to volume increase) when the distortion is on, there's even more buzz AND it's a very bad distortion. The distortion also doesn't have a wide range of sounds and is only really usable at minimum gain and the blend knob almost all the way back, just get an OD , and an EQ pedal, trust me.Undisclosed

I typically run a clean bass signal with no effects (except for a compressor pedal). I purchased this pedal because of the DI, Equalizer control, Distortion (as needed) and 9v operation. (1) The DI sounds pretty good and records clean. (2) The Equalizer control is a little too sensitive for my taste, but it does shape the sound as expected. I feel that a +/- 12db 4-band Equalizer would have been better with frequency bands of 80Hz, 360Hz, 800Hz and 5kHz. (3) The Distortion is pretty good and fits the bill when needed. Like most distortion pedals, it is slightly thin when "on". But this pedal can balance a clean (low) and distorted tone for a good balance. (4) The pedal operates on the same 9v supply/polarity that virtually all other pedals operate on (center negative). I find this convenient when operating all pedals on my Big Joe Lithium Power Supply. In summary I'm happy with my purchase and it resides in my set-up all of the time.SLoveland

From bedroom practice to stage show- the GT-1 will deliver the sounds you want. It's simple enough to find sounds for practicing musicians but also easy to get where you need on stage with a minimum of fuss. Like all these processors most of the factory patches are just extreme examples not meant to be used for real. More like demonstrators of specific effects cranked to 11. But you can modify these very easily to find something you can actually use. You can also plug into a laptop and download other people's patches which are much better than factory. Dialing in your own sound is easy. Three knobs offer a 'easy button' way to shape sounds and change effects while you can dig much deeper if you are more advanced with the buttons below that. You can even alter the chain of effects and where they fall like setting up a traditional pedal board. I got great blues tones, solid OD crunch, and high gain metal notes just by fooling around with preset patches. It's a hobby unto itself just finding great sounds with this unit. It has a tuner but no drum loops, which is my only real complaint. The display is small on stage, but it's bright and easy to see when it's dark. Most of the features of more expensive units, small size and sleek design, and lots of amp and cab models alongwith all the effects you'll ever really need. I bought this because I already use the GT-1B for bass and like that unit a lot too.thesollylama

Are you an amateur/hobbyist bass player? Do you rarely, if ever, play in front of an audience? Do you get bored with the tones from your bass rig? Would you prefer to not disturb your neighbors when you play? Then consider getting one of these! There is so much fun packed in to this little box it would take way too much time to explain. You could start by running through the 99 presets using headphones, and maybe try playing along with a tune that fits with a modeled genre. You won't like them all for sure, but you're bound to like some of them. Then check out all the other features – and there are a lot of them. Just remember, GC has an excellent return policy. I needed a new compact stage preamp to feed the PA in my big church and have control over what I sound in my in-ears before it gets to the PA. The unit offers a lot for the money and is a ton of fun. The really cool: ——————– – it's super compact. It fits in the larger pocket of a gig bag – Using rechargeable batteries, lasting several hours – 100 sounds of which I use only a few live, but am having tons of fun at home with many of them – with Tone Central it is easy to program. I put my top 10 sounds at position 1-10. You can modify and rename any of the sounds very easily with a computer. The not so cool: ——————— – My biggest disappointment is that the AUX-In feeds into the signal out. I wished it was programmable to just stay in the headphones like an Eden amp or the old Pandora boxes. That way I could use the PA feed into the unit and use my in-ears to perfectly blend the PA sound and my bass sound. – Patch modification on the unit is not fun at all. Need a computer and then it's a breeze. – No blutetooth App to modify patches on the fly. I suppose the kept the costs down. No big deal. Would be nice though. – Stomping through the patches is sequential. Many people here said they don't like that. To me it's not a big deal as I program all my favorite patches in the first 10 positions. So the scrolling is quick. – Had to buy a power adapter. Boss' is very expensive. Luckily found a good one for $15. Again, cost cutting on their end.Humble servant

I had a Pod Go and didn't see the point of upgrading as I am a home user only. The LT has advantages but for me it wasnt worth the upgrade. That's changed now with the new update making the cabs sound great. I was running out of DSP on the Pod Go more and more as well and it has the old cab sounds. I was running out of space on Pod Go for patches, well the Lt has way more room for those. It can double and treble up amps and cabs as well. More footswitches, bigger better screen and more options in general and the price I got ti for was bettet han anywhere else thanks to PMT Online. I had to go for it with all the pluses and the price being a no brainer and I am so glad I did. Its just better than the Pod go in every way. I am actually suprised how heavy and well built it is for a supposed Light version of the Helix and the space between footswitces and wah etc is just more comfortable to get around than the Pod Go. I wish I had bought this and not the Pod Go but then again when I got the Pod Go the LT was probably 240 quid more than I got it for, so goos things come to those who wait I guess. Sure you could find other effects units that maybe be slightly better for amps and others for affects but the Helix range is the all rounder, it does everythign I want and it has a built in wah wah. So there's that! that all the other don't have as far as I can see.R O.

Helix LT replaces my very well used POD HD 500, which I used for live performance (4 cable FX hookup usually, and modeled amp/cab through PA occasionally), developing and recording backing tracks (modeled signal direct to DAW), and recording stem tracks for other artists (modeled and dry signal direct to DAW). Helix functionality is similar to POD, but Helix is an entirely different class. Helix amp/cab/FX models are dramatically more realistic than POD and are actually close to the real deal in terms of touch sensitivity. The Helix is also incredibly transparent with virtually no coloration or signal degradation, unlike some of the POD models and FX. I/O on the Helix is versatile allowing a multitude of outputs and path creation including straightforward digital output of the dry signal for later DAW processing. User interface is well thought out, with visual signal path representation on a large screen, and blocks and signal paths that can be easily dragged around into different configurations. The hardware is significantly upgraded as well. Case construction and switching seem to be much more robust than the POD (whose buttons and switches were failure prone) and color coded led rings around each foot switch give visual cues as to switch function. I was able to set up my basic live performance (4 cable) presets and within a couple of days, feel comfortable enough with the Helix to use it in performance (except everything is on covid lockdown now!!) But I've had the advantage of using POD extensively for almost 10 years. If you are new to this type of pedal board, plan to take some time to learn how to work Helix. Its also pretty expensive, but the results are worth the time and effort.Ricardo

Overall: Looking at the G5n as ONLY a guitar multi-effects pedal still makes it well worth the price, but that would be selling it WAY short in terms of what this self-contained digital beast can do. For those of us who also play keyboards, synths, drum machines, and bass, think of this as an entire rack of beautiful effects processing options that open up a whole world of pro tone sculpting possibility. Yes, these effects by themselves do sound digital (because they ARE), but if you start with a good analog sound source and finish with a mic’d up tube amp or quality tube DI, you can capture some serious pro quality sounds with beautifully complex depth and texture. Line6 and Boss both charge significantly more for products that do absolutely NOTHING better than the G5n. So why dump any more money than absolutely necessary into a digital effects unit that you know will become a doorstop eventually anyway? The Zoom G5n delivers every last nuance of the best effects units available on the market today, and it does it all at a price you can afford to replace in a few years. PROS * Equal or better sound quality than competing products from Line6 and Boss, all at a much lower price. * Better and more intuitive user interface than Line6 and Boss competition. * The “ZNR” noise reduction effect performs amazingly well, and can be tweaked perfectly for any application. Especially for those of us who hate unnecessary pickup and amp noise in our recordings, this is worth the price of the entire unit alone. I’ve actually paid the same price as this unit for a Waves noise reduction plugin that I don’t like as much as the one inside the G5n. * No wimpy 12AX7 tube output that everybody knows won't make much difference, and which just becomes a maintenance liability over time. The old G5 had one of these, and Zoom should be applauded for ditching the gimmick. * Takes a huge load off of your DAW in terms of effects plugins. Also, unlike your DAW, you can monitor any instrument through the G5n without any noticeable latency. * The two tone booster dials are great for when you’ve been crafting new patches through headphones, but then you want to plug the G5n into your amp and you’re frustrated because you don’t hear the same frequency balance out of your amp that you did in your headphones (coming directly out of the G5n headphone jack). The two tone booster dials let you tweak the EQ of your frequency response (in a pleasant and natural/analog sounding way) so that your amp sounds accurate tonally to what you were hearing in the headphones. This keeps you from having to save two differently tweaked patches of the same effects chain just so you can hear the correct frequency balance through either your headphones or your amp. CONS * USB recording interface is convenient for recording rough ideas, but not realistic as a pro DI/converter. Luckily the stereo ¼” analog out jacks do a good job of letting you use your tube preamps for DI recording anyway, but it would be nice not to have to pass through an extra layer of D/A conversion if not absolutely necessary. * Amp & cabinet models are excellent tools for tone shaping, but no they don’t sound like the real deal (and no digital emulation ever will if you're listening back through quality DAC). Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean running reasonable gain settings on these amps and cabs into the clean channel of your tube amp can’t still create very impressively detailed recording tones. * Some people have reported that too many effects in a chain causes the DSP chip in the G5n to overload, but I’ve found the only time that happens is when you’re trying to chain multiple amps and cabinet models altogether, and it’s not something you (sonically) should want to attempt anyway. With one amp and one cabinet selected, you can still add a compressor, delay, reverb, and chorus, etc. There's plenty of DSP here to get you into trouble (in a good way). TIP: The modeled amp "heads" ften don’t sound as good as simply running one of the distortion pedals directly into a modeled cabinet. Requires less DSP too.Christopher

When i started looking for a replacement to many analogue fx processors I didn't expect to find anything asa a combo that had good clean output. I tested the GT100,GS80, Line-6 and a few lower level competitors to calibrate usefulness and reliability versus audio clarity using a set of AE-1 Studio Monitors routed through a Fender 100 Series Tube Amp. The results came down to either the Gt100 (which I found a little shallow) versus this Zoom G5n (btw -the G3xn is identical but doesnt have capacity). The thing that sold me on the G5n is its user interface. Simply the best and easiest to program on the fly. It is a lot of fun but you have to discipline what you want to achieve. It comes with a stack of patches but I suggest buyers to check and do the firmware update and get the latest patches (released monthly plus there is an Artist list of User Patches) = 1000's but you'll make your own. It isn't hard. The audio output on this G5n is a lot deeper and if you run the Boost you can get rich warm tone from a digital amp like the Vox 30 I tested. When using a digital combo amp you need turn off all the FX and use the default Amp or find an amp that doesn't distort the clarity from G5n. The Amp FX on the G5n are better through a clean digital setup. Analogues need to make sure head is also clean setup except where you just use G5n for FX and remove Amps from bank. Either way the device is very user friendly for harmony with getting the job done quickly and move on to playing guitar as this is a tool not an instrument.3times3times

The Zoom G5n is an excellent choice for those seeking a multi effect platform or even those wishing to add pedal effects to their guitar tone and who are on a tight budget. Your pedal chain is easily customisable with all parameters visible and tweekable at the turn of a knob. With 5 descent amp Sims which already sound fairly authentic, when edited you can get pretty close to the amps which they are emulating. Purists, or gear snobs will always argue that "you can't beat a real tube amp" or " Kemper, Helix, Axe fx are better" they may offer more but I doubt if they sound 5, 10 or even 20 times better in line with there cost!! For the price of a "boutique" pedal you can have nearly every pedal your ever likely to need, without the need for a bucket load of patch cables!! Several talented guitarists have posted customised patches on YouTube, covering every genre and the most popular/sought after artists tones. Sure I fancied some of its more expensive competitors but I really don't need the ability, nor do I have the time to deep edit such things as individual components within a particular amp or pedal. I simply wanted something which offered the range of tones and could replicate the sounds of my favourite guitarists, then just plug in and play and the G5n does thatand does it very well!! I've got both the GT-1 and the GT-1B units and they are so different. I don't know why, but I find the bass unit much easier to use. The effects shapes that you want are so much easier to dial in. Maybe it's something to do with the distortion types that each unit tries to emulate – you get loads on the GT-1 and only a few on the GT-1B. And the amp emulations too – you get maybe 1/2 – 2/3 on the bass unit. What I would say is that it is well worth spending some time doing a deep-dive of the sounds you can get out of this unit. There's not much help here, you will have to grind to get the sound you want, but it probably will be there somewhere. The Boss Tone sounds lab will only get you so far and there really aren't any shortcuts that I've found to the sort of tone I want for any specific patch. It's worth spending the time noodling around with the unit and at least you can set up a load of blank presets by whatever category you want (I set up amp emulators in 10-set batches). Would I buy it again? Yep, absolutely. If you asked me that about the GT-1, I might not be so sure.Cat F.

The BOSS GT-1B is a really great piece of kit. Was obsessing with synth pedals but couldn't decide which one and then would require an expression pedal etc. The Boss SY-1 doesn't offer presets. I'm pleased with the GT-1B – many many possibilities for designing patches, built in expression pedal & 99 presets. Loads of PROS – Great value. The potential options for combining effects is vast. The build is great, knobs & buttons work easily. I dont use it as a standalone but combine with some analogue pedals, which is a good set up. Still saves plenty of space on pedalboard. CONS – you have to put some graft to get familiar with the software and best usage. There are instructions for the basic operation, using the buttons/dials on the unit but to get the full hang of the software for assigning parameters within patches, BOSS do not supply much info. There are some useful vids online though and chat on talkbass etc – Octave fx doesn't always track brilliantly. Is OK and perfectly usable, but not long sustain. – The Synth fx can be a bit OTT & erratic, if up too high. But great synth type sounds achieved with combining envelope, fuzz, octave, wave etc I haven't used any other effects processor so can't directly compare, but the unit has more than surpassed my main reasons for buying it. Really loving this, getting back to playing after about 20 years away, got this multi effects pedal and I’m playing every day, plenty amp sims and effects to play with, got about 5 favourites already, not played about enough with the blank slots so can’t say too much about that. Drum beats are good for jamming along with and keepin time. Love the looper, really cool for dual parts ( I play a lot of iron maiden) and for noodling over your own backing track. Went for this one with the expression pedal, not using it much but that’s probably my style more than anything, it works. I’m using a standard mini usb to power, not tried recording yet, busy playing and having fun. Using headphones mostly, sounds great, put it through my 30 year old Marshall when I get the chance, sounds awesome. Bottom line, I’m just messing about in the spare room, having fun. Not a performer or gigging or anything. This has everything I need/want and the rest. Price is pretty good for what your getting. Should actually get a refund on this. Seemed like a good product but tried to connect with Guitar Lab to add effects. I got connected, added a couple of FX but lost some factory effects that were pretty good (Comp). Then, tried to connect again to get these back but can't connect anymore. Tried 2 computers as well, many times. Anyway, the box is stuck with FX it has now so, not good. Poor product if you can't get it to function properly.Zoom Man

It works well, covers a lot of different effects (including amps and cabinets), and the user interface is pretty easy to learn. There are some limitations in its capabilities (for instance, there's little memory available to add effects unless you uninstall some of the defaults, and some combinations of effects can't be used because it doesn't have enough processing power), but at this price you have to expect that. One thing they could improve without adding cost to the device is the documentation; expect to use your favourite search engine a lot while figuring this thing out.Steve

This unit is good enough to satisfy the sound man and even get compliments. Very easy to program. Ive built my patches in families of 5 with the same amp model. The patches switch instantly every time. There are many capabilities I have not used yet. This device is tiny compared to my pedal board and sounds as good. My guitar, this in my gig bag and 2 cords is all I carry to play out. Its awesome! It is 100% a versatile, powerful, convenient tool.davidschenk21

Fantastic piece of kit! Much easier to create sounds and patches than similar units, due to the layout. Every function (amps, cabs, delays, modulations, reverbs etc) can be selected using it's own button on the front of the unit, so you don't have to keep delving into a menu. One rotary control does everything and there's a separate master volume knob and that's it. Big easy to read screen, tuner, looper etc etc. Amazing for the price. The manual is not great but the unit is pretty intuitive and you can find out what you need to know in the various forums and Facebook groups. Only just unwrapped the box and plugged in, so a lot to learn. First impressions… a lot of wacky sounds that are fun bit probably wont be used live. Some good. Haven’t mastered switching the two buttons with one foot to turn on the tuner – I need to do it by hand. A bit disconcerting that there is such a disparity in volume switching from one effect to another. Some effects don’t seem to produce any sound at all. Wish the manual was a bit more informative – I have now downloaded the lengthier manual from Mooer web site. Not sure about how to download and use the Mac software, I’ll keep looking. This pedal has a lot of promise, I think it will take some time to figure out how to make the most of it. Having said that reviewers seem to think this model is more intuitive than many.Chris G.

For someone who has recently started learning guitar and not in a position to own a classic or boutique tube amp yet, HX Stomp has transformed my learning experience. While not a cheap pedal to buy its much cheaper that its direct competition but with equal sound quality and flexibility. Its also much cheaper than buying a proper tube amp. Being a new player, it allows me to explore all manner of different amps to find a sound I like so when I eventually do buy a tube amp I’ll know exactly what I like. The size of the unit is just perfect for fitting onto a pedalboard and sounds amazing along with my existing pedals before it in the chain or in the Stomps FX Loop. Matching the tones of the songs I’m leaning is both fun and just amazing how close I can get in a few simple steps. It also lets me experiences how different the guitar feels to play through different style amps. With just simple fretting techniques I’m sounding like I’m an 80’s rock star which is something my small practice amp couldn’t even begin to reproduce. The sound quality and variety of tones available from sweet and clean to pure filth is a complete joy to use. My wife also loves it as she can no longer hear my daily practicing as now playing through headphones is so simple.GARETH W.

This unit is amazing value for money, so many tones available through the choices of effects amps and cabs it is almost overwhelming! There is however an amazing online community of HX Stomp users who share a huge amount of expertise so it was very easy to get up and running with the pedal. Brilliant. Only thing you should be aware of is that sticking it on a pedalboard isn’t the easiest thing in the world, it’s quite highly powered and the connector is non standard so you would need an adaptor to run it on a pedalboard. But again a quick search online will provide all the information you need.Michael H.

I got this pedal to add a distortion unit with midi functionality to my board and this doesn’t disappoint. Drive + Parametric EQ and with tons of different distortion types. Yes please. It can be routed numerous ways (my favorite being Mono effect plus dry through) and having this, or any source audio pedal to the board elevates your sound!!Matt R

A great pedal right out of the box, but infinitely tweakable parameters with the Neuro App to get the exact sounds you need. A great option if you can't decide what dirt pedals to get for your bass. You can also download various presets uploaded by other users on the app cloud. Can't say enough good things about this.madderbass

Best price in town on a great little piece of equipment. Honestly, it's amazing what tech is doing these days. This unit is fully staged worthy and has nearly everything anyone could want. There is a learning curve to the unit but it isn't too bad. It isn't perfect out of the box but can be tweaked to preference. Many of the presets are great and as good launch point for sounds you are looking for. As for delivery, my unit came very fast. I think i waited 4 days for my order (which was 5 days earlier than initially estimated).Jeffrey

The GP-200 is a very flexible multi-effects/modeler whose price may suggest something of lower quality, but it's actually a great-sounding and fun unit. I play acoustic and electric guitar with an Acoustasonic Telecaster, and the GP-200 works great for both sounds. You get what's probably hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of amps, effects, and cabinets for a fraction of the cost. The factory presets probably aren't for most people, but the fun is in creating your own anyway. I definitely recommend using the PC/Mac software for this, as it's a little easier on the eyes and a bit more intuitive as far as the interface goes, but working with the unit itself just takes a little time and experimenting to get used to as the documentation isn't as detailed as it could be for the depth of options available. The acoustic guitar IRs are helpful for buffing up a standard piezo pickup; they won't fill anyone into thinking that your $200 guitar is a vintage Martin or whatnot, but they do bring a bit more depth to the sound. I find them a bit brittle-sounding, but perhaps with more EQ tweaking I could minimize that. I highly recommend this unit for people who want a good, flexible modeling solution without paying thousands. I haven't had the opportunity to play with big-name modelers, but this will definitely do the trick for most.Josh

Distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedals are difficult to get right. There are different "flavors" of dirt, differing amounts available, and there's the issues around EQ coloration and loss of low end. The Aguilar Agro has a nice flavor (kind of retro tube instead of overly modern), a wide range of amount (from none to pretty fuzzy), but best of all what it does and does not do to your overall tone shape. I find that it does not lose my fundamental low frequency and it does not impose a baked-in EQ (such as a mid-scoop) for me to struggle against. It's just my bass, sounding just as it always does, but with a really nice crunch added to it. Simple. But hard to get right. Nice job, Aguilar.scottfeldstein

Minus one star because it's frankly overpriced. Otherwise this pedal is excellent and the best use of 4 knobs in any current envelope filter. You can get a little more out of some of the filters with 6 or 8 controls. But for effective simplicity this pedal is fantastic. You can get a modest variety of albeit similar sounds, but nearly every setting is usable. This alone is more rare than it should be in pedals. The twin filter is incredibly well tuned. And generally easy and pleasurable to use. The only issue I have is with its price. I design audio electronics professionally and can guess at the cost to produce. And the main circuit they sadly chose to pot. Someone looking to "steal" this non-patentable design could still do so but it makes modification and repair near impossible. They should ditch the potting and set a lower price because they should be selling more of these very good pedals.Marty McFlurr

With this pedal I'm able to get the perfect amount of grit for my bass while keeping the "sound" of the pickups and keeping 98% of the low end. Love this pedal! Will definitely purchase again if and when this one dies.Kevin

The audio quality thru my headphones is outstanding. Looping is a gas and drum background offers good selection and control. Have owned the pedal for a bit less than a couple months and still have plenty to explore but what I have experienced has been fun. The software is great and although the screen is small, it still has some comfort on the eyes while on a desk top, in a dark club…and on the floor…not so sure. Here is where I want to get out and put it through it's paces. Great value compared to some of the big boys in the market.FenderStringBender
