I got this neck to replace the one I had on my Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster (in Metallic Purple with Maple Fretboard). This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. CONS: Nut not slotted – I don't understand why the NUT isn't slotted at least for common string size. It is very slightly to get you started but you would need a file. I just used the low E strong and used it like a file but it didn't come out too well and I've had to buy a new nut that comes preslotted. No predrilled String tree hold – This really wasn't too much of a problem but it's scary if you get it wrong. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase after two weeks of everyday playing with it. this is my 4th roasted neck and I can't recommend them enough. especially if you live on or near the water. I can pull out my strat or tele after not playing them for a few days and they are right in tune look at the quality that is put into them and you'd agree. when screwed to a sunburst or pastel colored body they just really enhance the look of your instrument. the cost of the roasted neck is something you gotta think about like do you really want to spend that kinda Ching on a neck? hell you can buy a standard neck for less or even buy an after market neck and play the same its all about the stability of the wood that closed the deal for me. dig down deep in yer pocket and pony up the Ching for one of these I'm pretty sure you be pleased you did. I have them mounted to Mexican fenders and American fenders all have mated up perfect and very little fret work was needed this is my experience with these necks and you will find the same. in short I dig mine and will in the future will only use these beautiesho-joe56
perfect fitment into a MIM fender body. finish was flawless and the dark maple is beautiful. mistake made on my part, not fender….. the roasted maple has so much less give than standard maple. I should have thought about that with all of the moisture being removed from the wood. I used fender press fit tuner bushings and installed them with a C-clamp as I always have. I heard the headstock crack as I was installing the D string bushing and my heart sank. Luckily, I was able to inject some wood glue and clamp it overnight to close it up, but I reamed out the G tuner bushing and learned my lesson. use care when installing the tuner bushings on anything roasted as the fibers in the wood simply will not compress the same way another neck would.Grey

It took a while because the neck was back-ordered for months (not Musician's Friend's fault), but no muss, no fuss and now I have another fretless bass. It fit perfectly into the body … you will have to drill holes for the screws in the heel of neck where it mounts. Go to YouTube and search for "Dave's World of Fun Stuff – mounting a fretless neck." He uses this neck and will show you how to mount it. He used a Squier bass and I used a MiM body. I'd put the link in, but I fear that may be against the rules. The holes in the headstock for the bushing are 80mm, and the Hipshot HB7 tuner fit it perfectly. You can use a rat tail file, if need be, to slightly enlarge the holes for your original tuning machines if you're using them. Once mounted, I used my nut files and brought the strings to .015" above the fretboard. Get one … I've been playing fretless for over 20 years and its different and FUN!Garvoon
Neck bent under string tension. Mighty-mite warranty does not cover necks that have been installed. Waited too long hoping for response from MM before tried returning and ended up too late for returns. So, my bottom line is if you need kindling, you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else.All your bass
I swapped this in for a homemade P-bass. It feels and sounds great. Ebonal is a legit substitute for ebony. Combined with tapewound strings the feel is very slick, and the tone and sustain are both excellent. It isn't the most stable of necks; I have to adjust the truss rod twice a week to keep it straight. Also, the nut is way way too high for good intonation in positions I-III. The best thing to do is remove it (look online for how-to. It's not difficult, just takes a well-placed strike and some nerve) and file the base down with sandpaper on a block. Glue it back in (with Elmer's, so you can remove it again in the future) and let the strings clamp it in place. I lowered mine so the strings are now .030" from the fingerboard. A lot of people go even lower than that. TL;DR: great value for the price. With patience and care, you'll wind up with a very playable fretless bass.the round mound of sound

I got this neck to replace the one I had on my Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster (in Metallic Purple with Maple Fretboard). This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. I have them mounted to Mexican fenders and American fenders all have mated up perfect and very little fret work was needed this is my experience with these necks and you will find the same. in short I dig mine and will in the future will only use these beautiesho-joe56
perfect fitment into a MIM fender body. finish was flawless and the dark maple is beautiful. mistake made on my part, not fender….. the roasted maple has so much less give than standard maple. I should have thought about that with all of the moisture being removed from the wood. I used fender press fit tuner bushings and installed them with a C-clamp as I always have. I heard the headstock crack as I was installing the D string bushing and my heart sank. Luckily, I was able to inject some wood glue and clamp it overnight to close it up, but I reamed out the G tuner bushing and learned my lesson. use care when installing the tuner bushings on anything roasted as the fibers in the wood simply will not compress the same way another neck would.Grey

After reading other reviews on Mighty Mite necks, I got a little worried. No reason for that. After ordering my neck, I went to my local guitar store and took a look at the Fender basses they had there. As you went up in price point, the necks got a little better – no shock there. Out of the box, the fret work on my neck was better than the MIA Jazz Basses they had. Running my hand up and down the neck, you can barely feel the fret ends. All frets are seated nice and tight. The action was a little low, but this neck is replacing a fretless neck so I figured on that. The big complaint that I saw on these necks is that they are not drilled. If you can't use a drill you probably shouldn't be ordering parts for your bass. This is a great neck for a great price. Buy it.
I was was very surprised and pleased when the neck arrived, as it was listed for about $40 less than the normal price as it was listed as a blemished item. When it arrived the only blemishes that I found were black marks like something black rubbed against the head stock. I took #0000 steel wool and smoothed the headstock and removed the black marks. The neck is as straight as an arrow, and I could not be more pleased with this purchase. It is already mounted to a Seafoam Green w/white pearl PG Precision Bass body.mikael
I build bass guitars for a hobby. I find these Mighty Mite bass necks to be extremely reliable and very well made. Always straight and with even frets. I look for a deep mellow sound with clear highs and these necks deliver. The only complaint that I have is minor sharp edges on the fret ends. A little lite sanding with an emery board takes care of that. One other thing that comes to my mind is that I'm very sure that these modern necks are made exclusively by lathe or luthier machines. With very little human contact, which reduces human error. Thousands of necks made nearly exactly the same leaves the employees to monitor quality control. Looking at the construction, the neck is flat sawn. Not a perfect cut for stability in a neck, but I think it will work fine. The frets look nice on top of the rosewood fingerboard. It's well done… One thing, I received the neck, first thing I noticed was there was a mark on the headstock, someone had drawn, showing a defect. Which is fine, I can sand out the mark and the defect… No worries… I was looking for a way to complete an inexpensive project bass and I think this neck will do just fine… It's a bit ambiguous about the country of origin though. I does not say "made in USA" anywhere on the product or packaging, so who knows…BassGuyWilly

I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE EXCEPT IT HAD THE BULLET TRUSS ROD INSTEAD OF THE TRUSS ROD AT THE HEEL. I MEAN WHO WANTS AN ADJUSTMENT AT THE HEEL ANYMORE. THIS NECK LOOKS NICE NOW BUT BE PREPARED TO DO A LOT OF WORK. THIS DOES NOT COME WITH THE TUNING MACHINES. IT DOES NOT COME WITH ANY PILOT HOLES AT ALL. YOU HAVE TO BUY THE TUNING MACHINES. THE PLACE I BOUGHT THIS FROM SENT ME FENDER PURE VINTAGE 70'S TUNING MACHINES. IT'S A 70'S NECK RIGHT? IT MADE SENSE BUT THOSE DID NOT FIT. I HAD TO REAM OUT THE PEG HOLES BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT FIVE MORE DAYS TO GET ANOTHER WRONG SET YOU CATCH MY DRIFT. NO HELP AT ALL FROM THAT COMPANY.. I MARKED PUNCHED AND DRILLED FOR THE TUNERS AFTER REAMING THE PEG HOLES OUT. THAT WENT O.K. THEN I HAD TO CLAMP THE NECK TO THE BODY OF MY BASS SO IT STAYED EXACTLY WHERE IT NEEDED TO BE AND THEN PUNCHED AND DRILLED THOSE OUT ON THE NECK HEEL. I BURNED OUT TWO HIGH QUALITY DRILL BITS DRILLING FOR THE TUNER SCREWS AND TWO BITS DRILLING OUT THE HOLES FOR THE NECK WHERE IT JOINS THE BODY. I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF WOOD THESE NECKS ARE MADE OF BUT IT'S HARD ON DRILL BITS. OH…YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY AND DRILL FOR A STRING TREE ALSO. LUCKILY I HAD ONE TO DO THAT. THE FRETS WERE TERRIBLE. I HAD TO FRET LEVEL BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE. SDAD FOR A NECK AT THIS PRICE. THE NECK IS DONE AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I WON'T DENY THAT BUT DON'T BUY THIS NECK UNLESS YOU'RE REAL HANDY. I CAN'T SAY THAT I WOULD EVER DO THIS AGAIN FOR SURE.
