I've always wanted a PRS and now I have one it was worth the wait. The range of tones, the sensitivity of the controls, the playability are all top notch. Not to mention it looks stunning. Out of the box it was all nicely set up, low action and very very playable. I've switched from the stock 9s to 10s and it sounds perfect. I've never been one for coil taps…all the others I have stay firmly in humbucker territory but there's something about these which really work for me – putting one in coil tap and then switching to the middle position is a tone I've not had on any other guitar and one I shall be using a lot. This is the first prs I’ve ever owned and I have to say if this is the quality prs puts out for their SE line, I can only imagine how good the core models are! I mostly play heavier stuff (djent, deathcore, death metal, etc.) and with the right eq settings these pickups do just fine. But they really shine with lower gain and crunch scenarios. I love playing jazz or doing some chicken pickin with the multiple sounds you can get out of the wiring setup. Superrrr versatile, very well built for an Indo guitar. My only complaint is the glossy neck, since I mostly play leads. But that can be solved fairly easily. It’s an easy guitar to play and it plays like butter. Stays in good tune even with whammy abuse. No sharp fret ends, fret buzz, high action, bad intonation etc. played great out of the box with a tuning. Now the only thing I would “upgrade” on this guitar are the tuners to locking tuners. This is a beautiful guitar and if it were 1000$ it would be well worth it. For 2300$ though I would like to have some inlays that don't look like cheap plastic and not have fret buzz. The buzz could be fixed with a set up but for 2300$ I feel like it should come set up. On the back the slots for the cover plates are not routed so they just sit on top. Not a deal breaker but this does make it look a little incomplete. Overall it sounds great minus the fret buzz. I'd say no better than a se model and not worth the extra money unless you just want a bolt on neck. I prefer bolt on or through necks which is why I bought the ce but I plan to return it and either get an ernie ball music man or an American strat.Not satisfied with AMS quality c

I bought this because I was in the market for a US guitar and I already had a US Strat. I was thinking about a Gibson Les Paul Classic and then PRS showed up on my radar. I did some research and decided to play both. I have an Epiphone Les Paul so I thought I would prefer the Gibson. I played this guitar first and the Les Paul just didn't feel right after that. I bought this one a couple weeks later. After having it for an extended period (12 hours) I started thinking about selling my Strat and buying a Silver Sky. This guitar just felt so good I didn't want anything else. The neck feel is fantastic. The tone options are amazing The color is sooooooo much more vibrant in person than in pictures It is sitting in the rack in the other room while I type this and I wish I was playing it right now. It was totally worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a true quality instrument.Jay P

Yes, the tonal range is great, especially the piezo pickup, nicely playable and overall looks and finish seem perfect. But, with nicely contoured access to the high notes let down by the overly large neck heal which starts a fret or two earlier than my other electric guitars. Another annoyance is the very cheap knobs which don't sit straight on the pots. I have a guitar costing a tenth of the price with better fitting knobs. The battery compartment is a bad joke of a design, as the battery holder comes out with the wires attached, you then have to prise up the battery from its contacts and the lever it out for replacement. Overall these are minor annoyances on what is a great guitar but, at this price I expected better. Oh yes, it came with a hard case. Which doesn't fit properly and with no tags or brand markings so who knows what it was made for. It did come with two loose bits of foam, one which was floating around unsure of its purpose.Kevin L.

I received the Black Gold Burst version about a week ago. It's a BEAUTIFUL guitar. The pictures don't do it justice. The f-holes really add to the appearance. Fender ALSO makes a hollowbody guitar, but they went the round sound hole direction, which, IMHO, is hokey looking. The sound is INCREDIBLE! I have 4 other electric guitars, including a Fender American Standard Strat, Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG and an Ibanez Prestige- They are ALL wonderful guitars, and each has its own personality, in how they play AND how they sound. THIS guitar has a sound that TRANSCENDS ALL of my other guitars. There are a number of videos on YouTube. BUT, as with the appearance, they simply DO NOT do it justice. The humbucker pickups ALONE produce a sound that is CLEAR and RESONANT. Adding the sound from the piezo pickup sends it over the top! ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS. I was a little reluctant to purchase a guitar made in China. However, the CONSTRUCTION and FINISH are PERFECT! PLUS, the cost is WAAAY less than the equivalent US-made version. I hope I've given you the idea that this is a SPECIAL guitar, BECAUSE IT IS!Kevin

I went to guitar center with 1k cash to buy a guitar as a tribute to my recently passed grandmother who always loved hearing me play. I went in planning on playing everything until something spoke to me. I played some guilds and X series martins and also This PRS. I ended up walking back to look at the amps again but the way that PRS felt and sounded was sticking with me. After a couple hours or trying nearly everything in the store I asked if I could have the employee unlock some of the American Taylors and martins from the top shelf. Im a huge Taylor fan but while I waited I played the PRS cause it wasn't locked. I put the PRS down and when I played the 2000$ Taylor it didn't feel or sound as good as the PRS. By the end of my multiple hour stay at guitar center, that PRS haunted me in the exact way I went in there hoping for, and it's the best acoustic i've ever played, even though its from china. The blue wasn't my favorite at first but by the time I bought it, it had already grown on me to the point that I wouldn't have it any other way. Seriously, don't buy online, go in to a store that has the on display and play it. If it speaks to you, buy the one that you played. Don't have the get a new in box one cause it may not have that magic.Nasty Nate

I'm someone who loves a guitar with traditional design but modern appointments. I'm fortunate enough to have 3 of these guitars in each color option. The Les Paul is a classic design in rock guitar. The Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess Guitar adds some much needed upgrades to this rock icon. First, I am an Alex Lifeson/Rush fan. That initially drew me to the guitar. But, for those players who need a guitar that can handle many different sounds and handle aggressive playing, this guitar will deliver the goods. First the body: Classic good looks of a Les Paul with nice figuring on the maple tops and two finishes that are attractive/different, yet classic. The back of the guitar has been contoured to feel more comfortable against the player's body and along the heel of the neck for upper register playing. The weight is around 7 lbs. and is not too heavy. The neck is wide but not too wide (think PRS) and feels good when playing complex chords or fingerpicking. The Hardware/Electronics: This is where this guitar shines. Whether you're a fan or not.. the Floyd Rose Trem is what you're going to need if you're playing a la Lifeson, Van Halen or Schon. The Graphtech Floyd Rose also has piezo saddles that allow for an acoustic guitar simulation and while I've never thought these sounds were very convincing, this guitar pulls it off pretty well. The pickups also deliver the option of getting a humbucking (Les Paul) or a single coil (strat) sound. I'm a Lifelong Lifeson fan, if Alex says it is good I instantly believe him, the Les Paul has such a chunky, detailed sound, I have tried it against the PRSs and the MusicMans and other dual Hbucker axes and it always comes out ahead. The Floyd Rose is a no brainer, I have a Kahler on my 80's Explorer and it is very tempermental, could be its age, I had it installed in 83. Lifeson has done as much or more to pioneer rock & Roll with his Gibson's than anyone, I was completely stoked when he put down his PRS. PRS is a Lexus and a real man wants a musclecar. Like I said above. This is the nicest Les Paul I have ever owned and I have owned some beauties. Everything about this guitar is a guitar lover's dream. This axe delivers class Les Paul tones. Dont let anyone especially the so called purist cork sniffers on the Gear pages deceive you into thinking that a Floyd Rose equipped Lester is somehow impure or less than a standard bridge in tone. Nothing could be further from the truth. I AB'd my Les Paul Custom against this guitar and they both have equal luscious warm Gibson tone. This is the most beautiful guitar I have ever owned and I have owned many Les Pauls and currently have 6 in my collection. This guitar has a lot of thought and craftmanship that went into it. The quartersawn mahogany neck, one piece mahogany back and high quality figured maple top combine to deliver a warm yet biting tone with lots of depth. Features? This guitar does it all from coil splitting to full humbucker and even realistic acoustic tones from the Ghost Piezo FR bridge. Then of course the belly scarf and the routing at the heal of the neck joint are very nice features of this guitar. Tones can be blended either humbucker with single coil or humbucker with Piezo acoustic or single coil with piezo pickup. Each level can be individually set as the piezo is controlled by the bridge pickup's tone knob and each humbucker's volume controls are push/pull for coil splitting. This guitar screams Quality. I am a Quality Professional and understand Quality when I see it. This guitar is the highest quality instrument I have ever played. The fret work is impeccable with all rounded edges. The frets are dressed with the Gibson Plek system which does an incredible job and delivers a fret job that makes lower action set ups possible. The Floyd Rose/Graphtec Piezo bridge is awesome quality and will last for years. The figured maple top is beautiful and the woods are the highest quality. The top on my guitar is ViceRoy brown and is highly figured with a near perfect bookmatch. The pictures do not do this guitar justice. Gibson Custom Shop quality through and through…made in the USA baby! This guitar is expensive and took a good chunk out of my checking account. Let me tell ya…it was worth every penny. This guitar is great value for the money. However, a more realistic price for what you actually get would be $2500-$2900. I obviously paid for the Alex Lifeson name and for the experience of owning and playing a guitar designed by Alex. This guitar right out of the gig bag was set up perfectly. Fit and finish are spot on and this thing is just beautiful! Plays great and sounds amazing. I had read about tuning issues because on the tremolo, I have found no problems as mine stays in tune just fine. Again , what a great setup from the factory. Great quality control. This is my second guitar from AMS, ordered on a Tuesday and received it on Saturday. Thank you, AMS and PRS!!!Mark

Overall: This guitar was sold as blemished. The actual blemish on the guitar was on the back of the body. I very small pin hole like indent, maybe 2-4mm. Almost ingenious. What I mean by that, is that is saved me 200.00 dollars and when you notice it, it looks kind of cool. Hard to explain, maybe a relic touch or something. Besides that, I can’t help but loving this guitar, for its simplicity, good taste and the extra birds on the fret board and lightness. Maybe someday, I’ll replace the stock pickups with something more extravagant, but right now, I’m completely satisfied. Thank you zZounds.Rodrigo

Overall: This guitar is amazing. It plays well right out of the box. The neck is smooth and no sharp frets. The pickups sounds great. I play a mix of rock, metal, and Jazz and it can handle all of those no problem. I love that you can split the coils on the pickups. It really gives you a wide range of tones.John

Overall: This rating is for the instrument itself, not zZounds. Their customer service is amazing and unparalleled. I've been waiting for the release of the Holcomb SVN for some time now. The finish is great, it's beautiful, the fretboard and neck are beautiful, the pickups are great. The flat radius fretboard is insanely comfortable! Unfortunately, there are an equal amounts of negatives. The nut is garbage. It's plastic, very sharp, and has slag hanging off of it everywhere. I doubt very much that it's properly shaped or set. It has made tuning impossible. The tuning machines themselves are also extremely low quality and seem to have a gap in the gearing, which also makes tuning a very aggrevating process. The low A# string seems impossible to intonate correctly, the saddle is maxed out and it's still registering extremely sharp. This is all in the tuning and string gauge that Mark plays in so… quality control seems to be an issue with these first run Holcomb SVN's. All in all, an extremely beautiful guitar for a ridiculous price while PRS's competitors build far better instruments in the same budget. I would return this if alllowed.Dayne

Overall: This is an awesome guitar! Looks great, feels great, sounds great, plays great. The finish is perfect, great book matched top and the Myers blue is beautiful. Feels and plays perfectly; neck is nice, action is nice, setup is nice. PRS goes over the top on quality control. It was in tune right out of the box! Plugged into my Orange head and has bright clean tones to a nice bark with the gain turned up. There is a reason PRS has a great reputation and it’s because of the ultra high quality even on their affordable guitars. Some people might not get over it not being a Les Paul, but this is just a flat out awesome guitar and will outshine anything in its price range all the way up to a super high end guitar.T.j.

A fantastic SE model. I have core models and various Fender Gibson Schecter Epiphone guitars. This is in my top 3. I've been playing 30+ years. Mostly hard rock and 70's bands and metal. It handles all of the above. I sometimes just playing it acousticly. I did change the tuners to Kluson black locking tuners. Much better.Skip

I have used this guitar with my band, live and in rehearsals… Plays fantastically once I set it up to my desired specs (Std D tuning, 10-52 strings, FU Tone brass block), but these PRS stock pickups have no grunt and snarl to them, so I plan to add an SD Black Winter set like in my EC Black Metal FR (dropped C). I have reverted back to using my Kramer Assault Plus which came loaded with the SD Alternative 8 set. Will likely use Custom 24 as primary D guitar again after replacing pickups. For this pickup issue alone, I'm giving it 3 stars, otherwise, it would be 5, as spending over 200 bucks more is a bit off putting after spending over $1100 for this plus a hard shell case for an import.Steve

The PRS is much easier to play than my ancient Strat. I need all the help I can get! It looks gorgeous, but not flashy or garish. PRS does make some pretty vivid guitars if you like turquoise, yellow, green, purple etc but I don't really want that kind of attention. The Custom 24 is superbly made, EXCEPT two of the tuning keys were loose and rattling, and the pickups are MUCH more powerful than the single-coils on the Strat, even in position 4 (two single-coils out of phase). I rate it as great value, but PRS also makes CE and SE models much cheaper. I am rating it against high-end LP's and custom shop Fenders. This is only my second ever electric guitar, so it needs to be good!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

This is my second fiddle purchase from AMS in less than a year. And let me say they don't disapoint. This PRS SE Custom 24 is one nice guitar. I have wanted a PRS for many years but didn't want to spend core money. After reading many reviews and watching the factory tour in Indonesia I was sold. The quality of this guitar is on point with a MIM guitar I bought last year. As to quality I am very impressed. The tone and clarity are ery nice. Not quite the same as the US made but very close. The only thing I did change per some of the other reviews were the tuners. I also highly recommend the PRS ones AMS sells. Literally drop in replacements. I do plan on upgrading the trem to some brass parts like the American made model. But all very simple upgrades bring this so called poor man's PRS that is already way above average to better. Having played just strats for many years (I'm a blues guy) I fancied a bit of a change in sound. Watching videos on andertons TV introduced me to PRS (Both the man and the brand). I went for this model as I loved the look. It arrived in one day and has totally reinvigorated my love of playing, the bright high gain sound has made me look at new music styles and sounds, getting me out of a rut of the playing the same artists. This thing doesn't have squeal when you want it to.. my runs sound cleaner as the wide thin neck actually is a better fit for my hand than the strats i own. I've started exploring the trem for the first time too. The core tap is great for my style, giving single coil for SRV type stuff then humbucker for Gary Moore and beyond.. just by pushing the tone control, very versatile instrument. It is very bright, so takes some taming but worth it. My only minor niggle is the tuning is not quite as stable as my strats, which have locking pegs. So I plan on investing in some PRS locking tuners. Overall I love it… sounds and looks amazing. If this is how good the SEs are then the cores must be out of this world. Would I sell the strats – no, but this is a great addition and a much needed push in totally a new direction for me. Another PRS convertee……Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Well I found it, after a long search, I called the call center and Sarah Hance attended me, she is the best salesperson, she is not only a saleswoman, she is the best advisor, she takes the time to explain, she is a professional, she always has a solution at hand, there is simply no better advisor than her, this girl should be given an award for the enormous work she does, Guitar Center should have more people like Sarah; After Sarah helped me, she sent the guitar to my doorstep. the guitar came in good condition, without a single scratch, it shone a lot, I tried it and fell in love with it, it can touch the sky with sweet notes but it can also put pure evil in notes with this guitar, it can do whatever you want, its neck very comfortable, its excellent frets, none sharp, unique details. This is a beautiful guitar and if it were 1000$ it would be well worth it. For 2300$ though I would like to have some inlays that don't look like cheap plastic and not have fret buzz. The buzz could be fixed with a set up but for 2300$ I feel like it should come set up. On the back the slots for the cover plates are not routed so they just sit on top. Not a deal breaker but this does make it look a little incomplete. Overall it sounds great minus the fret buzz. I'd say no better than a se model and not worth the extra money unless you just want a bolt on neck. I prefer bolt on or through necks which is why I bought the ce but I plan to return it and either get an ernie ball music man or an American strat.Not satisfied with AMS quality c

I bought this because I was in the market for a US guitar and I already had a US Strat. I was thinking about a Gibson Les Paul Classic and then PRS showed up on my radar. I did some research and decided to play both. I have an Epiphone Les Paul so I thought I would prefer the Gibson. I played this guitar first and the Les Paul just didn't feel right after that. I bought this one a couple weeks later. After having it for an extended period (12 hours) I started thinking about selling my Strat and buying a Silver Sky. This guitar just felt so good I didn't want anything else. The neck feel is fantastic. The tone options are amazing The color is sooooooo much more vibrant in person than in pictures It is sitting in the rack in the other room while I type this and I wish I was playing it right now. It was totally worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a true quality instrument.Jay P

I purchased this Dean ML based on my appreciation for Dime and simply because teenage me committed to owning one someday. I found a pic that I took with Dime which reminded me of being in the front row watching him jam away on his Dime Slime years ago. For me, this purchase was primarily motivated by nostalgia, expecting build quality to be sort of, ok. I have to say, this guitar exceeded my expectations. Slight disclaimer: I purchased this item knowing I would immediately upgrade most of the hardware and adjust things to make it more comfortable for my playing. 1) It is a fantastic base instrument. It plays fairly well as sold. This was my first experience with a Floyd Rose Special. Also, it will definitely be my last. I played it stock for about 2 weeks to get a good feel for it before changing anything. It’s a great playing guitar. 2) Every review I saw said that the finish was amazing and pictures just couldn’t do it justice. I agree. They did a great job on the neck and body of this guitar. It’s flawless. 3) Everything was to spec on mine. Action, truss rod, intonation, fret, bridge and pickup height, all perfect. My fretboard had a somewhat excessive amount of dye on it but nothing too crazy. The nut on mine was clearly cut too deep leaving the high e in permanent sitar mode with fret buzz. So, quality control could be an issue. For my needs this wasn’t a problem as I had already decided on replacing virtually all hardware with new parts that I had on hand from a project that I decided not to restore. 4) The pickups sound great. The Dime Slime nailed the Pantera tones, not surprising. I was surprised by the classic/southern rock and soloist tones I was able to get with minor eq adjustments. Clear and warm through the drive/distortion. It does jazz and country pretty well too. It has a very balanced sound to it which I was not expecting. I’ve played it on three different amps with the same results. Great. This is a great buy. A solid guitar as is. However, in my case, this guitar didn’t really come to life until I did what I did: OFR Hot Rod, brass block,springs, some shielding, etc. Now, what really irritates me is that it plays a lot better than a few of my guitars that were either at or almost double the cost of the Dime Slime. Not a V type of player. I like Wilco, the Pixies, the Smiths, Stone Roses, Courtney Barnett, etc. So when I saw Ryan Adams rocking a V by that other manufacturer that starts with G, I started thinking about the V body style. I liked this model because it was at the right price point and had the tradition V body style, if you don't think too much about the headstock. This guitar probably hasn't gotten any love because I don't see it as your typical Dime type guitar, and its not your typical vintage Flying V. The pickups are not high enough gain to get love from the shredders and the Headstock probably turns some people off. What I found is a pretty great guitar with some help. First, the action was high. I lowered the bridge significantly. The good news is that the frets are good I didn't run into any buzziness after lowering the action a little lower than I thought I could get away with. Next, the pickups needed adjustment. They were pretty low. I brought them up a little and found that the sound filled out and got chimey like it should. I adjusted the pole pieces to match the fretboard radius and viola! Most of these guitars have good pickups and don't need an immediate change. Folks, you need to learn how to properly adjust your guitar pickups! Then figure out if you need something different. PS adjust these pickups on a clean channel, you need to hear the guitar not distortion. Long story short, this is a great guitar. It shouldn't be your main axe, but its a great conversation piece that sounds better than it should. I feel like I discovered a diamond in the rough. P.S. The guitar is really light and comfortable to play with a strap.Fred

I bought this guitar because I wanted a new toy and because of the price – I figured I didn't have much to lose. I have three other guitars, two of them Jackson, that I play frequently, and I always wanted a guitar of this style. The natural finish is attractive and unusual. I like that. The pickups are ok, but the electronics leave a lot to be desired. The fingerboard craftsmanship is lacking attention, at least on the one I received. There are unfinished areas and one of the inlays is missing a small section. I don't know what strings they send over to China to put on this thing, but they are complete garbage. Putting some new strings on improved things a lot. This also suffers from some fret buzz. The guitar comes setup pretty well. The intonation seems to be spot on and the truss rod is adjusted properly. Action is set surprisingly well, considering the price of the guitar. However, as I mentioned above, this results in some fret buzz. I'll work with that a bit later. The neck has the same feel and playability as my higher-end Jacksons, so that's a plus. Overall, I don't think you could go wrong with this in the low price range. I'd recommend inspecting the guitar closely upon receipt to double check quality control. I wouldn't recommend this as a first guitar, unless an experienced guitarist is available to inspect. It's also not a guitar that's easy to sit and play, which is something to consider. If you get a good one and it's setup properly, this is an excellent guitar for ripping out some metal riffs or just having fun. Just don't take it too seriously.Matt

I received my guitar about three days ago, and overall I am very happy with my purchase. The guitar looks awesome – I love the wood finish with gold hardware, and have received many compliments on the instrument's overall appearance. It is incredibly light, weighing in at just about 7 pounds, making it the lightest guitar I have ever owned. I love the feel of Jackson necks, and this guitar is no exception. It has a fast action that makes speedy riffs a breeze to play. Access to the higher portion of the fret board is incredible, thanks to the V body shape. This is my first Flying V guitar, and I will definitely need to get used to handling the unique body shape as I play. Now for a couple cons that made me drop my rating from 5 to 4 stars: this guitar is top heavy. I have never owned a top-heavy guitar before, and it is super inconvenient to play standing up. You have to put in a constant effort to keep the guitar level as you play. I personally like to play with my guitar at a 45-degree upwards angle, which is much more difficult to do on this guitar then on any of my other well-balanced instruments. While the natural wood body looks awesome, it feels as if it would be easy to damage. But as long as you're careful you shouldn't run into any issues. I ordered this guitar online, and was not happy with the experience Guitar Center delivered. It said that the instrument was in stock and ready to ship, but after three days I still hadn't received a shipping confirmation in my email. I reached out to customer support and found out that the guitar was actually not in stock and I would have to wait three additional weeks before my guitar would ship. That was a bummer. All in all I would recommend this guitar, and am happy I added it to my collection!Darin

My fiance purchased this guitar for me as a early Christmas gift around october 2019. After the usual string change adjustments and tuning it sounded great and played great. Only real issue is neck dive but with this body shape you expect it and can be corrected by moving the strap button placement to the back plate or near by depending on your choice i left it and rest the top horn inside my leg like you see dimebag with his ml and many others with the v shape and non traditional shapes like the warriors king Vs and so on. I personally love the Rhoads shape and the natural finish. Other than some minor changes and upgrades knobs Tusq Nut Locking tuners and a Seymour Duncan bridge pickup upgrade and a good setup this guitar is my daily player out of the 6 i own its become my favorite im looking to buy another honestlychuck thomas

PMT service is fantastic, ordered it on a Sunday had it buy the Wednesday that week. Unpacked it gave it a quick tune and of I went started playing. This is my first fender and what can I say it's a lovely looking guitar, well finished and sounds great . The guitar came in faster than expected. The service at Sam Ash was excellent, and the salesman was very helpful with putting my order together. After unboxing, I looked the guitar over closely before plugging to my amp. The fit and finish was flawless. The neck relief, string action, and pickup height were spot on. Then I plugged in and cranked up. This guitar comes with Player Strat pickups, and Player Strat neck. And it flat out Rocks. Everyone says the Korean guitars are so good for the money. Sound: The guitar came with Quantum pickups. I have Quantum pickups on another guitar, and they sound alright on my Jem Jr. However, they sound spectacular on this guitar. This may have something to do with the ash body on this guitar, vs. the Mahogany body on the Jem Jr.It is amazing that Ibanez can offer ash on a guitar in this price range, when Fender has stopped using ash on more expensive guitars. Features: The most useful feature on this guitar is the Edge Zero trem. As a matter of course, as I’ve done with my other trem equipped Ibanez guitars, I replaced the springs. The springs that come on these guitars are awful and won’t let the trem return to pitch. I replaced them with Floyd Rose extra strength, silent springs. Now the trem returns to pitch as good as my Floyd’s and original Edge trems.There is no string retainer on this guitar. If you put a few extra winds of strings around the post, it will increase the break angle from the back of the nut, where the strings exit. If you get the break angle right, you can lock down the nut without having to retune. Ease of Use: The guitar is quite playable out of the box, with the exception of the trem springs. There were a couple of high frets, but they weren’t high enough to cause buzzing with a normal action. I always do a level and crown as part of the set up anyway. Quality: The fit and finish on this guitar is excellent. I love the grey and black top on this. Definitely a looker. Also, the description of the guitar on the website, when I ordered it, said that the fretboard was Jatoba. Well, as it turned out, my guitar came with a rosewood board, which according to Ibanez’s website is what the guitar comes with for 2021.Also, the jack placement on the top, is really nice. The end to the cord doesn’t stick out. Just be careful plugging in. Value: This guitar is worth every penny I paid. I am quite pleased that the guitar is less than 600 dollars. Great bang for the buck. And zZounds makes it a no brainer with their payment plans. Manufacturer Support: I haven’t had to call Ibanez personally, but I have gone through the dealer before, and they have got fast service from Ibanez for me. The Wow Factor: This guitar not only looks good, but plays great as well. If you aren’t able to do work on a guitar yourself, spend the money for a pro set up. It’s so worth it. Overall: Well, I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I took a chance and bought one that was listed as minor blemish on zZounds site.It took awhile to get to me, but that isn’t zZounds fault. The FedEx hub in my state doesn’t have enough truck drivers, and delays at the Troutdale hub are just a reality at this time.It arrived well packed and it turns out that the minor defect was just a small crack at the neck pocket. This would have probably happened anyway, and it is really small.I did have to call customer service, due to a saddle adjustment screw rounding out when I set the intonation. Sounds got me a new set of these screws through Ibanez, and it only took a few days. So good on zZounds and good on Ibanez.Scott

This guitar is pretty good for the money. The only problem I'm seeing with mine is the tuners are not great. They do the job but I'm replacing mine with some Schiller locking tuners. Also I'm putting in some new pickups that I have, a JB and a 59. The stock pups don't sound all that bad though, just a bit to dark it seems. We will see how it turns out. Fun to play also, light weight and easy to hold. Give it a try, you might be surprised.Scott

Excellent guitar at any price point. Very playable neck . Nice hardware . I've read reviewers complaining about the tuners. The tuners are not the problem. The tuners do not keep your guitar in tune. Proper stringing and string stretching does , also humidity changes can affect tuning. The bridge is heavy duty compared to what you get on an Epiphone , even the expensive Epiphones. The pickups are really good , no need to upgrade unless you are looking for something specific. In most cases you can get a great tone by using pedals and preamp pedals. I use a preamp pedal into my effects loop . It gives a great base clean tones to put your pedals in front of. Mine came setup how I like it . I used a string gauge to check the measurements. It's exactly how I set my guitars up . All I had to do was stretch the strings and tune it . I still have the factory strings on it . Guitars today come with brand name strings on them for the most part and I'm not picky anyway , I usually use Ernie Ball Rock n Roll strings . I'm no Kiss fan , I bought it because I love the body style . It has no neck neck dive , I used it in band practice a few nights ago . I have a nice leather strap for it . It may dive if you use a cheap nylon strap though. The body and neck binding is a nice touch. The pickguard is a little cheap looking but who cares ? Great guitar , get you one !Jeffrey

Do yourself a favor and pass on this very strange instrument. You are much better off with a standard acoustic bass that has far better tone, is easier to set up, stays in tune better, and is easier to play. Changing strings is a royal pain and it's not particularly well balanced. A fair price for this Asian bass would be about $100 max. Dull looking wood as well.kraigster414

Okay, as the title says, this is my first left handed bass. I've only messed around with right handed equipment & I've always felt discouraged to play but when this came in yesterday & I took it out of the box, it felt right. I still have to tune it right, no complaint, every instrument needs to be tuned but still, I hooked it up & it sounded beautiful to me. She's a wonder. I love the feel of it in my hands, fits just right with me. As a left hander I gotta say, this baby is perfect.the_atheist

I work away during the week and play guitar to chill out. This little thing fits the bill perfectly. Light and very playable. I play mine through and chorus pedal and small 3w amp. A strap is a must for this. It love it. Give it a try…imichael.2007
