Reviews:
I was really surprised at how good this amp sounds. Years ago I tried Line 6 and was not at all happy with the tone; but this is another story. It does take me awhile to dial in a specific classic rock tone, but when I do, it sounds better than any other amp that I've tried. I have tried the Marshall Code, Blackstar id Core, Vox Valvetronix, Boss Katana; as well as some all tube amps. The only other amp that is a close 2nd is the Fender Mustang GTX; also a great amp. The Spider V is fairly easy to operate. It offers lots of choices for amp models and cabinets. I like that it has variations of a mic'd cabinet. The parametric eq is a plus. I haven't played around too much with the effects yet, so I can't comment on that. The only negative thing I could say is that when you're editing a preset and want to hear how it sounds before you save it, you only have a short time before it goes back to the Home Screen. This really is a small price to pay for the quality of the amp and all the versatility it has. I like the App too. Musicians Friend got me a great on this as well; and their agent is following up making sure that I'm satisfied. The funny thing is that I came across this by accident. I placed an order for a Peavey amp that was on back order. I called Peavey multiple times, but they never returned my call. I also emailed them, but they didn't respond to that either. As far as I'm concerned, Peavey doesn't have any customer support.crrkr
Been playing about a year, so my review is from the perspective of a complete newbie. The things I like- Lots of presets, mobile app functions, computer interface, and loads of user created effects available. Nice and loud, but no real basis of comparison to say if clarity is better or worse than other comparable amps. Don't likes- The micro-usb interface. I had to get an adapter and it's just not as good a connection as nearly anything else would be. IMHO, micro-usb is far too flimsy. Connecting to PC is far more problematic than just using the spider mobile app. It's probably a little more complicated than it should be for a beginner, but it's feature rich for the money.Nic T
I had a Line 6 120w amp for years that I regrettably sold a while ago and was looking for another amp. I looked at all the amp reviews I could find and decided that the new Katana was the way to go. I got the Katana home and absolutely loved it but the second day I had it it started a really loud buzzing that I couldn't stop. It probably was an easy fix but the fact is the amp was way too powerful for my purposes and their software wasn't compatible with the new Catalina OS. I returned and started looking again. I saw the 60w Spider V and the price was excellent so I made an on the spot decision to buy another Line 6 and I'm really glad I did. The tones this amp can get are incredible. There are so many amp models and cabs that you can dial in pretty much any tone you want from a crispy snapback country clean to the most vicious heavy metal and everything in between. You can use the presets as they are or you can use them as a baseline and tweak to your own liking or you can start from scratch and build your own rig from the ground up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use but there are some features where you'd have to be a professional to really know how to use or even care to use. The software and the mobile app are so easy to use and give you all the options at your fingertips. The amp comes with a lot of presets that I find are completely useless but there are a lot that are excellent as I already talked about. There are only four empty slots for your own custom presets and I wish there were more but if you use the mobile app you can have your own tone library on there. I bought the FBV3 foot controller so that gives me a lot of flexibility to have various effects. One of the limitations is the lack of good effects though. There's enough that if you work at it you can get a decent sound but there could be some better ones. Overall I would recommend the amp. Don't listen to the naysayers or the amp snobs, it's a quality amp and extremely versatile.Just Plain Joe

Reviews:
I've been playing night clubs, Casinos, Hot Rod Runs, Bike Runs, weddings, parties, and everything since 1979. I used to use 2 Fender Twin Reverbs with Celestian G-12-65's and a rack of effects processors (to run STEREO), with a octopus of wiring to set up at every gig, plus an octopus of switches and stomp boxes and wall warts on power sttrips on the floor. Set up time and tear down time took hours. Sometimes all that wiring maze would pick up the 60 cycle hum, and what a mess locating the buzz! After a gig I had to set all that stuff up again at my home studio to practice. Sometimes there was no time… In 1996 I bought a Line 6 Flextone 2-12 (stereo) and that changed everything. It ended all the major problems and electrical buzzes. I programmed the Flextone right next to my Fender Twins and matched the tones exactly on the Flextone. WOW! No more Octopus Monster and Heavy Gear! I have since had a Spider III HD 120 with 412 bottom, 2 Spider III 210 combo's a Spider Valve 100 head, and recently a Spider IV 120 210. I Use the Spider iii 120 210 and Spider IV 120 210 amps on stage exclusively, with an FBV floorboard. Very Simple for stage and Awesome Sound everywhere I play! But again, many times my gear is loaded in a trailer, or at the venue and I need something that sounds like my Spider IV,,, so I got a Spider IV 15 watt. I quickly dialed in my 6o's Fender Reverb Tone for Country and Surf Tone on Ch 1, my StevieRay Vaughan "Little Wing" tone on Ch 2, The Stevie Ray Vaughan Roto-Vibe Tone on Ch 3, and a Van Halen tone on the Insane CH 4. I'm good to go! The only thing missing, is that the larger Spider Amps have a separate Reverb knob and the Spider 15 shares either the Echo Delay or reverb on the same knob, so you can't have both to smooth out the delay. It's one or the other on the Delay or the Reverb, but that's not a big deal on a great practice amp, that i could use onstage if I had a mishap with my other amps. Sounds best when you aren't pushing the master all the way to the max. Crank it up, dial in your tones, then back it off about 7 on the Channel Volumes, match them, and run the master at about 6 or 7. I can switch the channels with my FBV Floorboard and use it for practicing in real small rooms with a band. If it's not loud enough…Mic it! The tones I use are there and I can pack this amp in 2 minutes and walk out with my guitar without breaking my back with the heavier stuff. Fits right on my front seat. Done Deal! If it's your first amp, it's probably the best starter amp for the money, and for me, I have my tones dialed in for practice anywhere with no hassles.Kenny
Ups dropped it off yesterday, and it is everything I hoped, but better. The metal and insane channels are perfect. The clean is gorgeous, for a sort of metal clean tone. If you want to play a lot of Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, you might be better off with a Vypyr. but if you want Mettallica and Crue, to A7X, back to AC/DC and Aerosmith, youll love it. The metal channel is heavy as hell, and can still get up and throw piercing highs and mids. Everything is tight and punchy as hell. The biggest thing that shocked me was the clarity at seemingly stupid volumes for such a small amp. MF was out of stock when I ordered it, and I still had it in 7 days with free shipping. I highly recommend this amp to all metalheads. Thanks Musicians Friend and Line 6. RNFRJag
Very satisfied with this guitar amp. It has a lot of great effects, like flanger, reverb, tremolo, and tape echoes (to name a few). It's very fun to mess around with settings to create great spacey sounds and heavy, sludgy tones. It's also very easy to use. The amplifier also has very useful features, like a built-in tuner and a "save" feature, where the amp can save and remember four different settings at the push (and hold) of a button. It has great tone, volume, and variety, and it picks up things like pinch harmonics extremely well on the Metal and Insane tones. It's also pretty light to carry. I'd definitely recommend this amp for someone just starting out and for someone who's rather experienced with guitar playing. Great price for an amazing amplifier.Katastrophecy

Reviews:
Have had this amp for about 2 weeks now and so far no issues and everything is working great on it. I bought this amp just as a small bedroom practice amp so I didn't have to fire up my main half stack every time I just wanted to keep it mellow and not wake up the kid. The headphone out jack is great for late night jamming with your iPod plugged into the AUX in!!! I also wanted something light and compact to take to practice once a week again without loading up my half stack and pedal board every time. This amp seems to be built very solid and all the knobs and buttons are pretty basic and don't feel cheap. Some of the pre amp settings sound alright out of the box but if you are an experienced player you will definitely be changing these to your preferred custom settings anyway. But, great for beginners to have something to start with and build their sound from. I like how all effects are built in and with the MKII Express short board, (a must have to switch channels, tune and for wah) I bought it makes packing and taking this thing around with me very easy having no extra cables or batteries to worry about. This little 30W gets pretty loud I must say, not enough to do a medium or outdoor gig with, (unless miced through a PA) but definitely good enough for a small practice room or just jamming along to some tracks with your PA. Our drummer plays very loud and is a hard hitter and in our medium size space this amp can be heard but not way out in front. I play Hard Rock and Metal so when cranking this thing it does alright but obviously not anywhere as good as my 50W Blackstar tube amp. All in all for the money this amp is great with all the features it comes with and I will see how long it lasts before deciding if I would buy another one?Quanah
I ordered this thing to honestly, hold me over until I could get a better amp (decided to pick up the guitar again after a few years of letting work take over my life). I knew I wasn't going to be getting anything immaculate for this price, but I did expect better than this. If you like that shredder, overdone dirty sound, you'll get it with this amp. It seems to me like they spent way too much time putting as many effects as possible on this little guy instead taking that time to put something together that had A MORE QUALITY SOUND. Also, the volume levels never stay the same when turning it on and off (I'm really not imagining this). I'll have it at a comfortable level, turn it off, and the next time it's turned on it will sound maxed out (literally just have to inch one of the volume knobs down and back up a hair and it will go back to the level It was at, not a big deal, but it's annoying and I've never had any amp do that). I don't know where anyone gets off saying this is good for recording or performance…I would be embarassed to show it off anywhere. Thank goodness I am getting a new amp in just a few days, this thing blows. I would never recommend this to anyone who actually has an ear for music.Gentle Scott
first off for all the nay sayers over this amp, if you think the sound is bad from this amp, then get a decent guitar cuz this amp sounds awsome. I run my 1989 kramer stagey deluxe 2 through this and man what tones you can get from this amp. my kramer has seymour duncan JB and jazz Pups and its a perfect combination for great tones from this amp. right out of the box i was getting awsome sounds with minimal tweeking, basically 5 minutes after plugging in I had an awsome clean tone and metal tone. after further playing with it I got even more great tones. this is a perfect amp for home practice or band practice. ITS LOUD trust me when i say you can drown out your drummer easily. setting the 4 diffrent channel effects is stupidly easy. ive never looked at the owners manual no need to. amp is very easy to adjust and when you want to save your custom tone its as simple as push and hold for a few seconds the channel button you wish to use. The built in mp3/ipod jack is a great bonus for jamming along with whatever music you want to play along with. I cant say anything about the built in tuner as ive never used it. the one and only con against this amp is that it does not come with the foot controller. thats a seperate purchase add-on. the amp is light weight and can take a beating. its well designed easy to use and most of all it does what its supposed to without making you go rob a bank to afford it. it sounds great and is loud. i typically when in the house practicing never turn the vol up past maybe 25-30% for band practice maybe its turned up 45% yes i have cranked the vol full on and man is it loud. It will wake up your neighborhood. there is a slight distortion at max volume but i dont ever need to go that high except for sh$ts n giggles. run this through a p.a system, mic it and its stage worthy and ready. in smaller clubs you dont even need to mic it. over all im happy as hell over this amp. perfect for about every style of music. i love it! enough said!Kramer_player

I bought this amp for my son to replace the Line 6 Spider Valve amp he currently was using. This one is basically the same, but about half the weight. He absolutely loves this amp and has been very happy with it. He is able to program the various types of effects and easily toggles thru them to get the one he wants to use for the next song in the set list. I definitely would recommend this particular amp. I bought this product because of the great price and the confidence my son has in Line 6 Bogner products.butterflylady2012-us
This is the second Line 6 Spider-Valve amp I have owned. Still trying to figure out why I sold the 1st!! Great tone and very easy to use. The only cautionary note, is when you change channels (line 6 channels), The need to turn channel volume and master volume to zero is VERY important. Some channels are set EXTREMELY loud from factory. I mean ear-damaging loud. After you set your presets, all those channels are as safe as you set them. I set mine at a much lower volume and turn the master up as required. All-in-all a great little amp!!! Too bad Line 6 quit making them!!darnright1

Seriously an amp that can handle everything I throw at it…. Metal, Funk, Improvisational, Rock, Punk, Blues, Jazz…. this thing is a perfect tool for a studio stage bassist. I know a lot of people are gonna flame me for saying this, but this guitar amp replaces over five times the price of bass rack gear. Try it and you'll see…… This amplifier is amazing. I have seen the Line6 products around for awhile and finally heard one up close thru a guitarist I used to jam with and was really impressed. I checked out one of their bass rigs since I am a bassist and honestly, the thing was nice but when I decided on a whim to check out the Spider iv (mainly due to the multi effects) I was totally floored. This thing is incredibly versatile. I can adjust the eq to a perfect range for my 4 and 5 string to achieve an epic tone that I swear by. Mix that with the fact that it is loud as hell and can handle any venue that I have to play (and then some), portable, and has waaaaaay more features than I can use. Solid construction, it is my first run with an open back enclosure and it is a different tone BUT it still sounds awesome… This amp does more than my last rack set up and that thing set me back 3x as much.WC Salberg
I am an "old school" lover of classic tube amps. I play mostly acoustic shows now, but still like to jam and play electric from time to time. I was torn between getting a low-watt inexpensive tube amp or getting something a bit more powerful and versatile. I decided to purchase the Spider IV 120 stereo amp after experimenting extensively with a friend's similar amp on loan for over a month. In terms of sound, the amp has excellent warmth and touch sensitivity. The "break up" is smooth and authentic. In all, it convincingly captures the subtle nuances of classic tube sound, and I'm hard-pressed to tell the difference in some cases. Would I go so far to say that it's better than a good tube amp? Probably not, but there are many advantages. For one, the Spider IV amp is versatile and provides quite a sonic pallete for creative work. It also isn't as physically delicate and sensitive. Can't beat the price, either. I have a love-hate relationship with the myriads of presets. On one hand, one can find something useful to tweak every now and then. On the other hand, there's just too many presets to wade through. Simplicity is better. In the past, I've owned a pre-CBS Fender Bandmaster, Twin Reverb, Music Man HD130, Vox AC30 and, yes, a Marshall half stack. Over the years, amps have all come and gone. I'd love to have them all again, but can't. I've recently had stints with a Vox AC15VR and Vox Valvetronix. Liked them both. But, in the end, the fullness of sound (stereo) and surprising warmth of the Line 6 Spider IV 120 has captured my heart for the moment. Nothing like having the history of sound in rock and roll at your fingertips for a reasonable price. If you're a purist and have the money, go out and buy an expensive tube amp and claim superiority. Otherwise, leave me alone as I crawl reluctantly out of the past and try to stand on digital legs.Profdave
I've owned this amp for a few months now. It's a great versatile amp. But I've found that its definitely geared more towards players who want a high gain sound. The overdrive/ blues-y sounding channels are alright, but the high gain tones are actually not bad at all. RECOMMENDATION: If you're going to be using the high gain sounds, buy an overdrive pedal like a Maxon OD808, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Boss SD1, etc to boost the amp. The low end is a little flubby and using an overdrive pedal will help the amp out tremendously. It also doesn't sound half bad for some home recording. And you can definitely gig this. Its got plenty of volume.JTallica1995

This could be one of Line 6's most awesome products to date. I needed a good practice amp for in-home jamming and lessons I could take with on the go. I wasn't expecting much from the built in settings, but there are 5 amp models (including acoustic), basic effects and even a distortion pedal noise gate and tuner LED integrated. The headphone jack and guitar, aux and input are useful as well. Probably the best feature is the battery powered option which allows you to go mobile for jamming in the park or just not dealing with being plugged into the wall. Some downfalls however include some need to roll back the sound channel when switching models (followed by a pop sound), and a few other minor things. Some people complain about Line 6 sometimes stoic amp models, but they work here because its a small form factor, inexpensive and the expectation isn't much. I only briefly checked out the portable amp models market, but this is got to be a great amp for starters or even serious players that want to improve or have some portability.JZman
Much more positive than negative. Interesting that Line 6 has changed their products (at least this one) to match Peavey's way of thinking. Turn this amp on, effects are on – just like Peavey's. My Spider Jam – turn it on – comes on clean, the way it should be. Anyway, the amp sounds good. My MP3 player, mics, and guitars all sound good on this amp. The battery power aspect is nice (no power cord needed – but adapter is supplied). All the effects work well. The low end is gutless, but you can feed it into a sound board if you need to. For an easy, take-along, practice amp, it is great and I would recommend it. The on-board tuner is nice also, but I have to crank my guitars all the way up to get it to work well – then do not forget to turn your guitar back down, and hit the INSANE button – because you will know why they labeled it INSANE – poor little amp sounds like it is about to blow it's knobs all over the room! It will get loud! For a student, or busker (as they say across the pond), this amp would be a very good choice. If Line 6 would change their turn-on sequence, and put in a long-throw, polycone speaker – this amp would easily dominate the mini-amp market. It needs a better speaker. Remember Line 6, and anyone else who might be reading this – always, always, always, always put your money into the speaker(s) – that is what you hear! For the money – great buy!
The Micro Spider III is my first amp and was just lucky that this was the practice/portable amp sold at the guitar store that sold me an Epi Special II guitar a year ago, because one week later I was starting an intro guitar class with a dozen acoustics and (not knowing what I was doing) it only took me minutes with the acoustical setting to dial in a comparable sound! Within 2 months, I bought a MIM Strat and now with these three items I can play just about any sound from Buddy Holly to blues, to surf, to Jimi, to Black Sabbath!!!!!!! With settings from clean to metal, crunch, and insane and 3 adjustable modulations and 3 adjustable ambiance effects, not to mention all 3 EQ knobs, I'm still finding new sounds and I practice up to 4 hours per day! I crank it up in my cabin and outside and can keep it very quiet in my apartment in the winter with mega hours on it and no issues. The 4.5 for quality is due to the not so great built-in tuner, that I quickly bought a Korg tuner to assist my learning ears. Now that I have experimented with all sorts of genres, and now an intermediate type of player, I'm defining my specific sounds that I want to specialize into the future much faster than I could have possibly dreamed of… basically because of the wide array of music I can play with this amp!!! Thanks Line 6 for an awesome product like this. I'll never be able to play a tube amp quietly or out in the woods, so this is a keeper. BTW, I found an insulated Igloo cooler that the amp fits in perfectly for traveling and a car adapter for running off your cigarette lighter socket. Wow!!!!!!!!ObsessedGuitarPlayer

This thing is in my opinion the loudest practice amp I've ever heard. I love this thing. I was going to get a 10" or 12" amp but I'm glad I got this 8" speaker amp because it is almost as loud as those bigger amps. It definitely holds it's own and I want to walk over to my old amp and kick it out the door!! Lol.. Line 6 spider 3 replaces all the pedals I need!! This Amplifier is all I will ever need for my electric guitar. I love the sound! I have to be careful with my neighbors as they can hear it and I don't have it turned up that loud. I am 58 and don't like things that loud but when playing I might get a little louder than normal. It has a lot of different settings and I pretty much stick with a basic sound. I thought it was a great price for a quality amp. It fits nicely in my small room.wallyjc

I've been using a lot of different amps over my 30 years of playing jazz/funk/blues. I had a Line 6 150 several years ago and just started looking at the reviews again. I thought I wanted to go tube again, so I sold the Line 6 150. What a waste of time. Now I'm full circle looking to pick up another 150/212. I still have my Spider 11 75/112 and a Spider MK11 112 Bogner 40 watt tube, which I love. I also had the Line 6 Low Down 300 bass amp head that I sold to finance something else. I have to say, I get some great tone from these amps, great tone! One thing I'd suggest to Line 6, skip all the presets and let the musician create their own sounds. This is why I love my Spider 11, no presets. To me they will never be used and just take up space. Though I'm sure there's plenty of people who would want this feature. I once loaned My 150 to a guy who was playing next to someone playing through a Fender Twin Reverb and my Line 6 did better than keep up. People kept asking me what amp it was because it sounded great. Take the time to work with the controls and you can tweak some great sound out of this amp and there's more than enough power.Alchemy220
I have gigged with this thing for two years playing small venues and larger ones. It holds up extremely well for what I have put it through. Except the only thing that you should be wary of is where the jack is on the amp. DO NOT BUMP INTO IT WHILE THE CABLE IS PLUGGED IN. It will break and you will have to be putting it back together over and over and over for days to come. The features on this thing are straight forward. It has almost anything you can think of, and a little more. Nothing wrong here. With quality, you get what you pay for. A solid state amp. If you are looking for clean sound, this is the way to go. The clean channel is extremely crisp, and sometimes mellow when you get it right. Yet, when you try for the high gain, there is an extreme loss of bass in the distortion sounds. The amp will give you tons of distortion, but it is extremely "dry". I have fooled with this amp for about two years now and I still cant get a full distortion tone. Just be wary of that before you purchase this amp. With all the features at this price, you can't go wrong.
I suppose there are some sounds that this amp cannot create but I have no Idea what they might be. With the number of preset sounds and the ability to edit and modify such sounds, there are sonic possibilities with this amp that are so numerous it is safe to say I could never use them all. The amp increases the ability to be soncially creative such that no two pieces of music you write need to sound the same unless that is what you want. The amp is powerful enough to overcome loud drummers with any type of sound. I think it is safe to say that when playing in any venue where the instrument amps carry the music, with vocals, if any are carried by a decent portable pa, no additional amplification is necessary. The 2 12 inch speakers put out some loud clean sound when necessary, while distortion can be dialed in to any level necessary. Of course, to be produced within such a value price, the amp is built in China, but designed in the USA. This is an economic fact of life if you want quality at a low price. It is also solid state. But after playing guitar for a number of years, I really doubt the ability of many guitarists to tell the difference in sound bewtween this amp and a tube amp if you do not let them operate the volume control which is key to tube amp distortion. To me, there really is no benefit to tubes over this amp unless you like buying extra tubes that may have to cut short your set to replace one. That is if you spend the money to carry a set of replacements. Of course, any solid state amp can fail. A replacement should be available to you instantaneously on the stage to prevent any extended period of quietness that your spokesman cannot handle easliy. There is no perfect amp, however equipment failure is no excuse. If you play professionally, you may want to consider buying a slightly smaller and less powerful model of Line 6 Spider IV to save the evening. In summary, I think the Line 6 Spider IV 150 is a great amp and an exceptional value. If you are in the market, try one out.

Reviews:
I have been playing guitar for 25 years, and my genre stretches from hardcore metal in drop tunings to smooth clean blues riffs. I was running a Mesa Boogie Mark V35 combo for the versatility but that was a little too much amp to practice on, or be comfortable dragging around from house to house. I still needed something loud with punch to practice with at reasonable volumes when necessary. I looked at other competitive amp modelers on the market, however they didn't work for me due to software issues. I bought the smaller version of this and immediately stepped up to the bigger one because it was too good!! I was able to plug and play immediately and access all features WITHOUT a laptop, tablet or phone, although these can help, the built in interface on the front of the amp is intuitive enough to let me access and program all of my amps, effects and parameters without any extra gear. I love the fact if I'm doing acoustic sets, the full range speaker shimmers, however, classic speaker mode sounds no different than my Mesa did! I find myself going to this amp more frequently and playing more due to not having to mess with tubes warming up, pedalboards etc. The wireless feature on the upper models makes grabbing and playing even less of a hassle and the XLR outs make recording a breeze. I could not ask for a better amp, especially at the price point. Save your tubes for the gigs and get this amp. I have not felt any limitation to my sound at all which I was initially worried about. Don't forget to pick up the foot controller as well!Andrew
I’ve had an earlier model, not sure the name but I was like, okay I recognize this I’ll just get a newer model & boy was I amazed when I received this amp. It controls the feedback real well so when you’re not playing it’s quiet then all the setting are to die for, there’s some generic one then they get nicer then there’s some based off of actual songs which I caught a couple. I definitely would recommend this amplifier to anyone getting into electric guitars especially with the ams payment plan for bad to good credit.Ghost Tha Reaper

I bought it and sold it in less than a week. I'm a pro player and I have used Line 6 HD heads for years and recently went back to Marshalls. I was hoping to get some tube sound out of this amp but no such luck, The signal from your guitar is completely digitized before it gets to the tubes which makes the pre amp tubes useless. I think I got a better sound out of the totally digi HD Flextones…rogerromeo2y7c
I purchased this amp brand new in Summer 2014. It has not been played much at all and now it doesn't function at all. It needs a new PCB installed, which is relatively easy to do. But I cannot get the PCB from anywhere on the planet because they are not being manufactured any longer and it's impossible to get one, thus my amp is dead! It's done! It's 2 years old and it's finished! Conversely, my 35 year old Mesa Boogie Studio preamp has parts available. DON'T BUY THIS, OR ANY OTHER LINE 6 AMP! As you can see from the photos, pcb is from 06, but i didn't buy the amp until 14! 8 year old boards in a new amp! Pathetic!mkcr33l
ALL GOOD BETTER THAN LISTED! AWESOME SOUNDING HEAD GREAT BUY NO NEED FOR ANY PEDALS HAS GREAT BUILTIN EFFECTS!773pjc3858

I have one of these and the thing is tough that's for sure. I've had this particular one for about 6 yrs or so and Its been all over the place. You can really dial in some great tones with it. The classic line 6 tones are top notch in these pre-usb era models, true grit , smooth, and triply if you're into the acid rock type. Plus if you like earlier Metal this was the amp most young musicians were playing in the late 90's. I kind of prefer it over a lot of other amps strung about that may be because I am familiar with it though I think its because it reminds me of that time era and the sound is comforting . Really, I guess it depends on what you are using it for. Its quick and versatile. But… It is what it is and it will never be a Marshal JCM or one of the Fender Classics there is no substitute for them and they're not trying to be, but its a great intermediate-pro model and for $100 you cant beat these second edition Spiders.
