Reviews:
This guitar is awesome because it is beautiful, lightweight, and comes with everything you need to start learning right away. I love the app that you can download when you get this guitar. The lessons are short so you do not have to spend all day playing, and the apps functionality works very well for giving feedback on whether or not you played chords correctly. In the past, I used random YouTube videos to help teach myself how to play guitar. This app is so much better and really allows the learner to go at their own pace. Although I do have experience with learning guitar in the past, I would still consider myself a beginner. The guitar I had learned on previously was more difficult than the Urban Guitar. The fact that the strings are closer to the frets and that there is a cut out to more easily reach the higher frets Are two great factors to consider when purchasing this guitar for somebody who is just learning.LaurenLouise50
This guitar sounds good enough but unless you're a die hard Kieth Urban fan, you can get something better for the same price point. It's very light and honestly feels a bit cheap compared to some of my older (still lower end) guitars. It's easy to tune but doesn't like to hold it as well as others – probably due to the cheaper hardware. It feels good to play but I would do better with a slightly fatter neck due to my wide fingers. The teaching app is a nice touch, but isn't anything more than you can find for free online. One thing to note is if you open the box from the wrong end as I did, you might think they forgot all the accessories. They are hidden in a small box that is extremely hard to see if you open the wrong end.Matrim
While I have only owned the guitar/training package for a little over a month, I am blown away by the quality of the guitar, and workmanship and training design with the training application. Since I was young (now in my mid-30's) I tried picking up learning the guitar every few years, as I was lucky enough to have other guitars in my possession over time. However each time, I tried self-learning, and failed. Partially because of my own reasons, but also because of how the online resources tried to train. The Urban Guitar package has put that concern behind me. First, the guitar is a work of art. It is gorgeous, and also sounds amazing for the price range. Even friends who are career musicians are amazed by how great the guitar sounds! As for the training app, it goes at the perfect pace to allow you to learn about the guitar, and to step through the process. The best thing about the app in my opinion is that it not only speaks in layman terms, but it also feels as if they're right in front of you taking you through it. Overall, this package is great for beginners to pick up the hobby, and is great to learn at any age!Anthony

My husband loves this guitar. He has other guitars but for some reason always thought the Keith Urbab guitars would be a nice add to his collection. He has not used the learning tools but loves that they included a certificate and what number the guitar was out of the limited number made. He had to work on tuning it about week before it got right, but he loves the sound. He believes it is a great sounding guitar especially for the price.Tamara
This item shipped fast and everything was packaged great. The guitar is a beautiful color and tuned easily. Now I just have to get playing it regularly to see how it sounds.josgill_87
The BAD: Right out the package I can see the Action is way to high, and I am Saddened that the Nut and Saddle are made of plastic ( Shame on you Keith) the strings from the factory would make good >Cheese Cutters< but are junk. So… after Lowering the action about a 1/4 inch replacing the Deplorable plastic Nut and Saddle with real bone ones and putting D'Addario Phosphor Bronze Light Strings on the Guitar>> We can Start. (Do it yourself cost for these fixes about30 Materials>>> to have Done I am guessing a set up and these up grades with $time$ work would be about $150 give or take) Ok The GOOD: 1.The Electronics on this Model are Awesome very Clear Very Strong and Very Natural sounding 10-out of 10. 2. the finish and Burst are also Very Nice Very appealing and Attractive looking and feeling 10-out of 10. 3. Fret Board, Beautiful Phoenix bird on 10th fret and Flying winged thin birds in normal place on rest of board, the only Urban Guitar with fully detailed birds on fret board(except the Pre-Premier) made… other Urban Guitar fret board inlays after the Premier IMO are UN-defined and most Unexceptionable ( like on the Player model and others to come "Yuck" ) the frets on the side are a bit sharp and will need to be filed ( or Coleslaw Fingers will Result 😛 ouch !! ) 8-out of 10 due 2 sharp fret edges. 4. the Graphics Inlays and Binding are Top Notch and worth P raze 10-of 10. 5.once set up and Up grades done play-ability is Sweet, smooth fast easy pressure on fret board will bring a most Enjoyable playing experience 10-of 10. 6.Acoustic Clarity and sound Carry are Phenomenal Comparable to my Martin !! Great sounding and playing guitar, I replaced the synthetic saddle for bone, original was to tapered on the high E new saddle took care of that. Buy the epiphone or roadrunner jumbo case, nothing else fits, make sure if the guitar comes straight from the factory you use a humidifier in your case for at least 6 months. Especially in colorado. Then if you leave it out without a humidifier that you dont have forcrd Heat or air conditioning vents close to the guitar. This guitar has great projection.Kenny
After purchasing this guitar from American Musical Supply, I was really nervous awaiting its arrival because this was actually my first time purchasing an instrument online. I’m used to going inside music shops and trying out different gear and playing guitars before I buy them so I know that what I’m taking home with me already feels comfortable and right in my hands. This guitar in particular, however, is not a style that is normally kept stocked in the stores for customers to test drive before they purchase. Similar models are available in stores near me but I think anyone who has ever wanted this particular model from Epiphone knows that they have heard and felt the beautiful sound that projects from this big guitar and I am here to tell you that my “leap of faith” online purchase was nothing more than a huge win in my book! This guitar looks, sounds and plays just as I expected it would with much more to offer once it’s actually in your hands! I’m personally a country/blues guy so this guitar definitely fits right up that alley in my opinion. It feels so solid in your hands and the tone is just plain awesome! The Jumbo body allows the sounds inside the guitar to reverberate through your body as it’s pressed against you before making its way through the sound hole where it flourishes into that awesome deep, thick sound. From the factory the guitar is set up beautifully and very playable right out of the box. Quality parts, quality wood and quality electronics as expected from Epiphone and very well executed in this model. Definitely worth every penny for the undecided guitarist but hey, don’t take just my word for it! Pick up this awesome guitar from Epiphone through these good folks here at American Musical and set yourself up with one of their payment plans if that interests you! It’s an awesome way to be able to get the gear you need and the gear you’ve been wanting without breaking the bank right on the spot! Excellent Job by Epiphone once again and an excellent job by American Musical for supplying it at an awesome price and providing sweet payment options for your customers and future consumers!Billy
I once owned a Gibson J15, that I bought from Guitar Center, and I loved it, but I always wanted a J200, I just could never afford one. Well, I ended up having to sell my J15 to pay rent one month, and I ended up having some extra money from it, and thought why not give the Epi a try? It's closer to the Guitar I always wanted anyways. I was blown away. It has all the high end stylings of a Gibson J200, maybe even more if you consider the built in tuner and cutaway features for about 3000$ less. Well, unfortunately I only owned it for about a week before my car broke down and I had to return my Epi to pay for the repairs. I've regretted it ever since. I would have rather donated blood 50 times than have returned that guitar. (Fortunately I just got my tax return and repurchased it, and it seems like it sounds even better than before). As I was saying, it stacks up against s Gibson guitar nicely, the shadow preamp isn't as nice as any LR Baggs system but it will certainly give you lots of usable sounds. I think this is the best guitar in the 500$ price range and I'm disappointed in Guitar Center for not carrying it in store. I'm a firm believer in the fact that having a guitar you like, you like the looks of, you like the feel of, will make you a better guitarist, and that's what this beautiful, fat boy jumbo acoustic has done for me. I actually like mine so much I decided to put some money into it for upgrades, and I haven't been disappointed. I stuck some Grover Keystone tuners on it in gold of course ( had them on my Epi Les Paul before and thought would look cool so I just swapped them), some Martin ebony bridge pins, and some D'Addario EXPs and this thing sounds unreal now. So, if you're reading this because you're unsure as to whether you should buy this guitar or not, yes, you should absolutely buy this guitar and never look back.Anonymous

Reviews:
The Maton 808 fits perfectly. Usually the 4" will fit most guitars but, not this one. I had noticed a few questions concerning this so I thought I would post this. A 4" cover can be ground down to size but, it's a chore that you may not want to tackle. The size here is actually pretty close to 3 3/4". The Maton is 95mm which translates very close to 3.75". A few thousands of inch at best. Pretty snug fit but, you don't want it slop around at all. Just FYI.Terry
I purchased this guitar twice because the first one had a bend to the neck, so the strings would buzz and not play properly on higher frets. I returned it and then ordered another one assuming the first was a fluke. The second one came in and was fine, but within a month the same issue occured. Still have it and just play the lower frets, but still was a waste of money. Looks amazing and sounds great when it works properly.Matthew
I played guitar for 15 years back in the day and owned 6 acoustic guitars in my lifetime. From mid-priced Takamines to cheap Washburns. I went to Guitar Center for a "learn how to play again cheap guitar" and tried all the cutaways in the $150-400 range. Fender, Yamaha, Alvarez, Ibanez and even above my price range. A salesman said one sentence. Try the Mitchell Guitars, they are the best bang for the buck. I went home that night and did my research. I looked at wood quality, body/bracing styles, neck sizes/wood types, hardware. Made a list and went back with 7 guitars in stock I wanted to feel/hear. Yes, Mitchell guitars absolutely had the best materials for the money. But how were their playability and actual sound? I tried a few models and they were either soft/flat sounding or had a sloppy fretboard. Other brands in the same price range had much cheaper materials. It came down to the Alvarez Regent (wish they had the Artist series to try) and this Mitchell guitar. I was able to buy the MX430QAB on sale but this guitar plays above its actual price. I tried a few $600 dollar guitars and the quality is much closer to those guitars. Bass tones are deep/rich/punchy (not dreadnought deep but enough). The mid-tones really shine and the highs pop without being too bright or overwhelming. A wide-ranging rich-toned balanced Orchestra guitar. The neck is so playable. I have read that about other guitars. The Talman series, or Festival series. Maybe they just needed to be setup. This guitar was set up perfectly. Going up and down the fretboard doing scales or chords was a total breeze even for someone who hasn't picked up a guitar in 5 years. It holds the tuning very well and I am sure this guitar will settle in and have an even richer tone over time. Guitars all have different personalities, so trying them out is recommended. But this is a good bet for the 300-400 price range.Myles

I purchased this grade 3 scratch and, dent. I have purchased a few items this way and, a lot of dinero can be saved. It is just like a new guitar, there was a ding on the edge of the large bout, some of the finish had been broken and, a little bit of wood was gone but, not broken through. Fairly easy repair with some super glue, careful work on the spot, a little scraping of the glue after a few build up coats, some sanding with a very fine grit, polishing and, some buffing yeilded positive results. Well worth the small effort. Great playing and, sounding guitar. The Fishman electronics perform beautifully! Acousticly the Dred body puts out a lush full sound. I have a Breedlove concert with the same electronics, the sound is full, powerful and, comes through my Fishman Artist accurately and, full, no quacky piezo sound. I paid a lot more for my Breedlove but, this Mitchell is right there with it. Both excellent guitars. The main reason I purchased this Mitchell is because I was wanting a decent guitar as a backup that would not break the bank and, have all the goodies I was looking for and, this was it. I won't say what I paid but, it was a great deal and, with a little fixin I have a Great guitar! I would walk out on any stage and, perform with this instrument without any concerns. I will admit the Fishman electronics were a big selling point. I once owned a Taylor and, it was a beautiful guitar but, the electronics were sad. It went back to the store asap, it would not worked for me in a performance. Sorry Taylor. I would recommend this guitar to anyone, it's a tremendous buy and, a really nice guitar. For what it's worth I've been a musician for over 50yrs and, I know when something is good or not, it's just plain experience. I just plain refuse to dump a bunch of money on a brand name.. it's the musician not the instrument that makes the difference.terrygh
I was looking for an inexpensive Acoustic Electric guitar with some quality. Wanting my cake and ear it to, well that's what I got! This guitar is really nice with excellent features that usually are not found in this pricerange. I purchased this as a scratch and dent, I have no problem with this because the instruments in this range are usually pretty decent with little or hardly any problems. This one had a small dent on the front large bout, a little super glue fill to level out the ding and, was good to go. It turned out to be a great deal with an easy fix and, ended up with an excellent guitar.terrygh
After spending hours and testing countless guitars nothing sounded better in this price range. The spruce top mahogany design produces the purest of sounds that rivals some of the more expensive guitars of similar design. Mitchell has done an outstanding job in beating out the competition in this price range hands-down! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for that pure mahogany rich sound at a very affordable price.Robert

Reviews:
Bought without trying it out because I had seen a photo and decided I would like to try it but was out of stock for many months. Then it became available for $79 off and I jumped. – It came well packaged and in perfect condition. 'Played as well as it looked and it looks even better than the photos show it. The finish is as deep and glossy as any I have seen, and even the fretboard is bound. It seemed a tad bass shy at first but over the last few weeks has bloomed and now sounds beautifully balanced with tight well defined tones throughout the octaves and plenty of shimmer up high. 'Have not plugged in yet but it projects well without amplification and should be just fine for a small stage like a church or coffee house. I highly recommend this guitar to any enthusiast.Steven
I went to the GC in Palm Desert CA with a five-hundred dollar budget for a new acoustic/electric. There were three guitars that I had to play, but I was open to checking out others. I didn't see the Hummingbird in the room so I asked the clerk to check for me … he found one. Before he got back with the Epiphone, I had a chance to play the Guild and a Fender that were on my list, as well as a few that were not. The Fender was winning … until the clerk showed up with the Epiphone. The craftsmanship/fit and finish, the feel of the neck/action, the sound projection/tone … Everything about the guitar was perfect for me! I could not be happier!John
For the price it is exceptional value. Beautiful looking musical instrument. For me there are just two reservations. 1. There is no built tuner. 2. The pick up doesn’t work with my Xvive U2 wireless system. I have another electro acoustic, also with Fishman electronics, which does work with the Xvive U2 wireless system so I was sort of expecting this would to. Apart from that it is jewel of a guitar and punches well above its price tag.

Reviews:
. Now let me set the scene… I am a guitar lover (I can even play a little too) and a quality professional so My expectations are somewhat higher than most looking at this product. An absolutely beautiful instrument, this is my second SA360 and although they are no longer. Made in Japan, be assured they have not lost any of the build quality or attention to detail. The guitar was really well set up, is great to play, feels good in the hand and sounds the bee’s knee’s. If you are looking to start out in guitar playing get yourself an Ibanez Gio to start as a first upgrade from that, then the SA series is where you want to be at.Timbo
Overall: For 100 bucks less than a Japanese made RG550 I'll say the quality of this Indonesian assembled guitar is sub-par albeit correctable. All hardware was loose. Blase switch wast rubbing against finish. Tone and volume pots were pushed down into contact with body. Gold playing on bridge pick-up shows nickel plating already. Action was set so low that it was unplayable. Some frets are razor sharp at the edge of the fretboard. Neck and fretboard are dry as a bone, and need to be sanded and sealed. The grain was raised when I unboxed. Which basically tells me that there was very little if any polyurethane applied to the neck or fretboard. As with all Indonesian guitars ai take this as an opportunity to fix these little things on my own, but you are better off getting an RG550 Genesis. The quality is far superior. Also the paint is awful, and the plating on all gold plated surfaces are sure to deteriorate quickly. One note: Sounds has nothing to do with these inadequacies or defects. Ibanez should just seize operations in Indonesia, as should all other guitar manufactures. Indonesian guitars are ok enough to correct, but even at the 800 dollar mark you should get a 100% gigable axe. This is not at that level.
I've owned this guitar for a year. I own more than a few Ibanez, with about half of them being Prestige and the others being 80's/90's Fujigen Ibby's, 2010's Iron Labels and Premium. I love this RGA and it's remarkably well spec'ed for most anything a diverse player will want. What it isn't: it isn't a prestige and it doesn't feel like it. That's not a bad thing; the roasted maple neck is amazing, feels comfortable, but the fingerboard does feel a little different (given the wood type). The only real negative I find is that the finish (the actual finish) feels like it's very delicate. I can see this finish cracking easily with an everyday bump. I hang my guitars and pull them just to record, so not a n issue for me, but it definitely feels very delicate. The only other reasonable complaint is that for the pricepoint, it should include at least a gig bag. This is basically a 1,000 dollar guitar.

Overall: I purchased this guitar in February and it arrived unplayable. I was unable to review for this reason. Due to living in a remote location and being disabled it was to dificult to exchange, however, zZounds was very prompt at trying to help me return it. Unfortunately my caregiver had to throw away all the packaging. So my fault I couldn't return. I have purchased many ibanez guitars and this was the first time I had a problem. However, it's pretty obvious ibanez knew about this when sending the guitar to zZounds. So a little disappointed. So I'm unable to try this guitar, however, zZounds was very prompt and the customer service was great. I just can't return it and that's my fault. I would still recommend this guitar and zZounds.Kenneth
Beautiful guitar and sounds great. Completely satisfied with my purchase.roerescue2
Looked good online but like someone else said it's like a toy I should have listened. I was told since I didn't like it I would have to pay return shipping and ups quoted me eighty five so I called guitar center and they said I could return it there. I did and they were very nice and it went back on my cardDavy E

This is my fourth guitar and the least expensive one I own yet it stand up to much more expensive ones well. I love the feel and the sound and it looks great. I bought it mainly as an acoustic to just play with but plugged in it sounds much better than I expected. Great buySam
This was bought as a gift for me! I picked this Ibanez out, and the rest is history! The Green Flamed Maple is straight up beautiful! The pictures posted don't do it justice. The sound is great! The reviews that I read and watched helped to make my decision easy. Can't wait to get an amp!Stan
Ibanez has the best necks for my hands when it comes to acoustics. This sounds and looks pretty!Hiram
15. Taylor Gt Grand Theater Urban Ash Acoustic Guitar
Product Details:
Designed from the ground up for comfort, playability and rich tone, the gt urban ash debuts a new compact body shape with a big, resonant acoustic voice. the gt (grand theater) shares the basic footprint of the jumbo-sized grand orchestra shape, but its proportions have been scaled down (including a shallower body depth), creating a fun, inviting feel in a package that you can take virtually anywhere. the gt also features a uniquely proportioned neck with a scale length of 24-, a bit longer than the gs mini and a bit shorter than the grand concert. the neck provides a slinky fretting feel thanks to reduced string tension. it comes together in the gt urban ash, built with solid back and sides of the responsibly sourced tonewood that gives the guitar its name. a solid spruce top helps charge the gts tonal response with projection that belies its small frame, powered by the new asymmetrical c-class bracing design, which translates the tone-enhancing properties of v-class bracing into a sonic engine thats appropriate for this new body shape. expect a warm, punchy midrange accentuated by crisp treble notes, with an impressive bass response that owes its surprising power to the new bracing scheme. a beautiful fretboard of responsibly sourced smoked eucalyptus delivers the feel of a rosewood fretboard with the tonal character of ebony, while a thin matte finish preserves the guitars resonance. a clean-cut appointment package includes pinnacle inlays in italian acrylic, a three-ring koa rosette and a dusky urban sienna stain on the ash back and sides. it includes a super-durable yet lightweight aerocase .

Reviews:
I was looking to get a really good solid wood acoustic and looked at every Martin and Taylor. I was nervous of getting a small scale but when it arrived it was perfect. I tend to use my fingers rather than pick on it as it has a very fast neck and the scale lends well to finger picking. The case is amazing! I wanted a hard case with the guitar I chose and almost went with another brand due to the case but this is not a gig bag. It is a hybrid and very sturdy. I can't say enough great things about the purchase…..best of all, mine was produced in Sep nearly a month before the release of the model so getting an early model of a guitar that will certainly become a best seller makes the purchase even more sweet.Ks
The small size made me feel at home instantly. As if I owned this guitar for years. The neck is very fast and the spacing of the frets isnt too tight. I suggest just raising the action a little bit, its gonna make it louder. Since it is so easy to play, you will barely notice. Great for finger picking.Peter 47
Great little guitar. I test 2 dozen guitars in search of a great guitar tone for fingerstyle. I've found the GTe to be a great workhorse guitar that is very fun and comfortable to play. The slightly narrower neck, lightweight body and short scale length are very comfortable and the intonation and electronics are very usable for plug and play gigs. It just works. Now, if you're looking for a great, loud strummer, I would probably look elsewhere. It is not bad for strumming and I've played singing/strumming gigs with it but I think it really shines for fingerpicking. It records very nicely and I'm a big fan of the Aerocase over a hardshell. A Martin HD28 is my usual go to guitar and fantastic for strumming and most of my playing, but I've found the Taylor GTe to be more convenient to take around and is a bit less dear to me. When teaching lessons, the Taylor is the one that stays on the stand to grab quickly and doesn't overpower the student guitars but holds its own. I do feel that it is overpriced. Non-precious/reclaimed woods, not the highest grade top visually, satin finish, plain look etc really should put these, in my opinion, about a third lower in price. That being said, I played a lot of guitars and this was the only one I cared enough to walk away with and I'm enjoying it. Even more…my wife came with me on my journey and told me it was special and I should buy. Specs and woods can be nice guides, but I've found the overall guitar and whether or not it helps your playing and inspires you to play is more important. If you try it, like it for your applications, and don't mind a few extra dollars, it really is a great guitar and sounds much nicer than it should.Steve

I hate to be negative but….Here we go. I love the electronics (SST Technology) on some of the Ibanez brand Acoustic Guitars because it eliminates the need for an EQ and delivers a fuller, fatter sound than most acoustic guitars. That being said, I have to be able to play it first and foremost. Upon receiving the well packed and shipped guitar, I took it out of the box and fretted a Gadd9 and noticed a disastrous buzz on the high E at the 3rd Fret. Figured it just needs a set up and took it to my guitar guy who told me after adjusting the truss rod with no fix that the fret would probably have to be filed. This is a brand new guitar, the frets shouldn't need to be filed out of the box. American Musical was very helpful w/ trying to expedite me one last minute for Monday on a Friday afternoon (since I have to play on Monday) but we'll see what happens. This is the 2nd Ibanez Guitar in 3 months that I went through this with. I'm slowly getting turned off.JR Huffsmith
I got this as my first real guitar. It's an amazing guitar, the sound is really nice, more of a soft tone for finger picking. Plugged in it sounds pretty nice, I like the options with the fishman preamp. The tuner works pretty well. Now for complaints, it came in a brown color, which I didn't mind, the tuner for the G string is suuuuuupppper hard to turn, either it's too tight to turn, or way too loose, when I first got it it had an awful buzz, but when I got it in tune and played it some it sounded fine. Other than that a great guitar!Lord Potato
I am very happy with this purchase! It was sold as a factory second because of a minor flaw with the finish. To actually see the "flaw" you need to angle it just right in the light. It is NOT seen without close inspection. The pictures are not of good quality (they look splotchy). It is nice and easy to play as the strings are close to the neck (as I have seen with other Ibanz guitars). It sounded very good and I got compliments when I played it for a worship service. I had priced this exact model at musiciansfriend and it was $100 more expensive (with free shipping). So this is a very nice sounding, good looking guitar for a good price! Shipping was super fast (I live in Wisconsin where this came from).cheryloke_0

Reviews:
Outstanding value in this Ibanez guitar. First off, it's beautiful to look at it. Blue or the black, you can't go wrong. They are both attractive (I bought the black one). Neck is smooth as butter. Sounds great plugged into my little Blackstar amp and just as good unplugged. The gear seems like something you'd find on a higher priced guitar. The tuners and EQ are top notch. Really couldn't be happier with the guitar, the price and the service from AMS. They promised 2 day shipping and they delivered.Eric
Overall: Great for playing in the living room, I've strummed pretty hard on this and it can take it. Everything works great on it. Stays in tune good. Frets probably need filed like everyone else is saying but I'm very happy with it.Joe
Sound: I changed the settings as I always do when purchasing a guitar, and if course had to retune until the string memory was suffice. I haven't had to retune it since (after 3 weeks … Of course some minor tuning was needed). The eq helped get more low end that I desired. Features: I like the truss rod feature, I changed the tuners to some more appealing Gibson deluxe tuners. The frets needed a little filing but minor tweaks and adjustments are almost always necessary to obtain desired playability. Most (inexperienced) People want straight out of the box perfection, I suggest bringing any new guitar to someone that knows what they're doing and tell them what you want. My brother worked for Gibson custom shop as a guitar tech and let me know that most companies rely on quantity and not so much perfecting every guitar as everyone's idea of perfect is different. Overall: Tweek it or let someone that knows what they're doing tweek it … That includes all guitar purchasesMark

Overall: Feel: stiff and rigidSound: Cold, too much feedbackFeatures: Tuner too tiny for adult vision. I'd imagine that when purchasing this guitar one is paying around $350.00 just for the Vai name and logo. And it's not worth it. Ibanez makes much better acoustics for much less money.
This thing is really excellent. I was totally surprised at how much I liked it, given my bad experience with the EP9. I loved the EP7, but had to part with it. This is my favorite of the three, with one exception: The strong paint smell, which I have noticed on several Chinese guitars lately. Well, if the guitar is going to kill me with chemicals, then at least I'll enjoy the heck out of playing it. (My EP7 smelled really good… kind of like a cedar chest, Don't know if it was because of the guitar or the previous owner, but a smelly guitar can be a buzz kill… or in the case of the EP10, practically give you a buzz! I'm sure that the smell will eventually go away, which is why I am still giving it 5 stars.John
Overall: My Ibanez EP5 Steve Vai Acoustic Guitar, is my first grab when jamming or writing. I've played simultaneously against 3 other acoustics with larger bodies and the tone & projection cuts though with clarity. Unplugged you will not get a big boom bass, but solos come through loud & clear. This guitar replaced an Ovation which was much louder but not as bright. The thin line body is very comfortable and neck perfect for fast solos. It is an incredible value for the price. The black finish shows wear easy. I take it to beach parties and events without a case and does not need to be babied.Louis

Reviews:
After allowing the guitar few weeks to adjust and giving it a good set up including new strings and a neck adjustment (tightening the rod), Conditioning the fret board and a good polish, The guitar is easy to play and has great sound for an inexpensive guitar. I like the So Cal green color others may not as it is a vintage vibe. Tuners are price point but even price point tuners these days are decent. A little sticking from the nut, I think I can lightly file that out and add some nut sauce. The fret ends were not too sharp but I conditioned them to a nice smooth finish useing 500 grit sponge. Very little cost to make improvements and the guitar is fun to play. The sustain is probably the biggest suprise and I am satified to practice with this guitar every day. Very pleased for the cost. Good value.Bruce P.
Guitar is ok for the price; however, I was expecting the strings to last longer than 2 days before breaking. Even the extra ones that came with the bundle broke as I was putting them on. I had to buy better ones and had a professional put them on to make sure they were adjusted correctly. Additionally, the small tuner's battery was dead out of the box so I had to get a new one. Again, I guess you get what you get for the price. On a positive note, the guitar looks nice, the small amps is super convenient, and everything arrived fast and together in one box.Luis L.
The guitar did not have the black scratch panel that is shown in the Sunburst guitar. Also, when my son opened the gift guitar, the black bag was covered in a white mold/mildew. It was delivered one week before his birthday and kept in a dry room, and opened for the first time on his birthday. The guitar seems ok, I will know more when someone with some guitar knowledge checks it out for me. It may be going back to the store. The pictures show exactly what the bag looked like minutes after the gift was opened. Looks rough, 2 stars are for the fact that the guitar was not moldy.Kacee

Reviews:
The sound is slightly less dense than my Yamaha acoustic which sounds nice on most songs. The in built tuner is more than adequate and sounds great connected to the amp. The colour is beautiful and the weight is light. I would recommend, especially for the price
Great sounding guitar, electric or acoustic. Easy & fun to play I bought this guitar as a backup for just in case My 66 Gibson LG-0 fails or string breaks at a gig. The next day after it arrived & played it live plugged in for 2 hrs. It was great. Deep bass & clear highs. The only thing that was a little bit of a bummer was only a cosmetic, in my opinion flaw. You can see where they marked the frets for installation of the wire with a hand marked, magic marker on each fret. Then they must have gotten a little wild because there is an actual magic marker mark on the fretboard for no reason. We laughed about it being from china & kept playing. For the money its a great guitar.Gibtard of the year
Right out of the box I noticed a horrible buzzing (bad action) and it couldn't be tuned properly. Poor callibration. No hesitation. Returning as soon as possible for something of better quality. Ibanez isn't what they used to be. Done with them. So disappointing.Beev
