Reviews:
This is a beautiful sturdy gig bag and I have no complaints about quality. But the size stated in the review is "48.8 inches exterior length" and the bag is actually 42 inches exterior length – which is just the few extra inches I needed to fit my new Ibanez Mezzo Bass. This bag fits a micro bass, but not a 32 inch scale bass. Of course Musicians Friend replaces, refunds, returns beautifully so no worries. Hope they sell a gig bag that fits!Size Matters
Well-made and stylish case. Are use this product for a Gretsch Junior jet bass. It fits very well because there is a Velcro sleeve at the top that closes and holds the bass securely by the neck.I didn't know this was a feature but it works really well.Super quality stitching and constructionGlenn

Reviews:
Overall: I honestly bought this bag to keep dust off of my bass. Out of the box, the gig back looks great. Has plenty of pocket space and the color is eye catching. Material feels pretty good, but again, it’s a bag.I’m not completely impressed with it though because:1. Neck is held down by a Velcro strap, no other neck support. 2. Overall protection around the neck is minimal. Found out when door smacked the bag while on my back. Felt the vibration of the wood on my back.
This Ibanez gig bag is well constructed, with fabric and materials that have a nice feel and appearance. The design and style is sharp and sexy, with nice accents in the construction. This is not a fitted bag, and as such it is generous in its dimensions, but not excessively loose that the instrument moves around a lot inside. The bag has well-positioned shoulder straps, a hand strap, and a clever hanger hook at the top. The accessories pocket is generous and can likely accommodate whatever you should need: strap, tuner, cable, cloth, extra strings, etc. It is worth noting that this bag is not superbly padded and will not replace the purpose or value of a proper hard case. However, it will adequately keep your instrument from getting knocked around, dinged and scratched. It is an ideal lightweight cover for transport to gigs or storage at home, but I would not advise loading this into the van between the 4×10 and Twin Reverb.Mars
I have two Ibanez basses. One has its own hard shell case and it's my performance bass. My practice bass however had no case until now. I bought the PowerPad bass guitar gig bag because I was traveling to L.A. by car for a band get-together and wanted to bring my practice bass. I treat my equipment well (or try to) and wanted some protection for it while traveling. Quality-wise it was perfect. Good workmanship, all zippers functional and it seems tough enough to last a long time. After the trip I was quite pleased with the gig bag. The padding is adequate, at least for me because again, I don't throw things around. It sat behind the front seats in the car and I never felt that my bass was in danger. I love the big pockets on the front; they held my coiled cord and my condenser mic & cable. I never got around to using the smaller pocket near the headstock but that's there also. Plenty of handles and different ways to carry it. One of the big things I liked about the bag was the fact that the bottom of the bag is wide, flat and maintains its shape. What that means is I can lean the case up against a wall with the bass inside and it doesn't want to roll off to one side and fall down. Overall, well worth the money. For a gig bag I think there's no reason to look any further.edbeachwood

As low-cost fabric gig bags go, this one has some truly great features. First off, the fabric on the two sides is tough and reasonably well-padded. Then, the front pockets have VERY rugged zippers and hold a LOT of stuff. Spare strings (in my case, five of them), picks, tuners, cables, DI boxes, a big soft leather bass strap…all fit with ease. It is supplied with fittings for a shoulder strap for the bag, but doesn't include a strap. That's hardly a complaint – so much else IS included. There's an added 10mm pad at the bottom to protect the instrument. It's attached only on one side. Again, more expensive bags do the same thing, I'm not sure why. Every gig bag I've ever had, IMO, begged for me to improve it. I sewed the other side of this pad on, and added another 10mm of medium-density foam via silicon adhesive. My kids could drop this bag on the floor and not hurt the instrument inside. It doesn't include a shoulder strap, even though it has fittings for one. The added 10mm bottom pad, to protect the bottom of the bass guitar, is attached on one side only, and you'll need to sew the other side in place, or as I did, use adhesive to keep it from flopping over to the side and not protecting the instrument.davenwest

Reviews:
The bass fits very nicely in this bag. To me, one of the strong selling points of this item is the three pockets on the front. great for the strap, tuner, extra chords and items. Good handles and backpack straps The zipper appears to be sturdy but as noted in another review, has no flap to protect the Bass from being scratched. It is very lightweight rugged fabric with very minimal padding. I would consider this more for storage than serious gigs. would work fine for the occasional outing. All said and done, it is a keeper. Definitely a value for the price.Pete the bassman
I needed a case for my daughters x-mas present, an Epiphone Les Paul special. I was trying to be thrifty because good gig bags are expensive and these were on sale for really cheap. I figured since this gig bag was for a miKro bass, it would be long enough for a normal guitar. I wasn't sure if it would fit, so my plan was to give my daughter my current gig-bag if her guitar wouldn't fit into this ibanez miKro gigbag. Then I would just use the Ibanez miKro gigbag for my travel guitar -which I have no problem hacking up to fit. Well, the Ibanez miKro came and it is of great quality. There are three great pockets for storage, shoulder straps, padding'o'plenty, and it is long enough for a normal guitar. It is NOT wide enough for a normal guitar. I could not close the zipper with either an epiphone les paul special, or a squier strat inside. So I had to go with my backup plan. I gave my daughter my travel guitar gig-bag and I cut a little wood off of my travel squier strat so it would fit inside the ibanez miKro bass gig bag.KC
Nice padded gig bag. I especially like the external reinforcement with feet on the bottom end. I had the end strap button on another bass eventually poke through the end of the gig bag for that bass. It won't happen with this bag! I also like the 3 outside compartments. One is big enough for music books! And shoulder straps are always appreciated.B-Man

I bought this case as a home for my recently purchased Ibanez AGB200. It's designed for the AGB140, which is a 34" scale, while the AGB200 is 30". But that just means there's a little extra room. The bodies of both are essentially the same. It's well a made case. Very sturdy and fits the bass just fine. I'm quite happy with it.Lardo

Reviews:
Purchased this case for my Fender Precision Bass. Mostly, will be kept in my studio, and occasionally on a few short gigs. Case seems sturdy, and I like the compartment size suitable for a strap, cable, etc. Also features a locking latch which is very handy. Pricewise, its a very nice case for my needs, without going into more expensive flight cases for touring. Very satisfied and should last for quite a while. Would buy this product again. Cheers!penlan-6941-us
Decent case for the money. Dimensions are a little off from whats advertised. Lower bout width is around 13-1/4 instead of 13-1/2 so my BC Rich Eagle fits a little snug. Overall, no more than I use it, itll work. Sure beats paying $300 for the actual BC Rich case. Also, if your headpiece sets at a steeper angle, it will put pressure on the headpiece. Depth is more for a Fender style headpiece.xv1700at3

Last year I purchased an Epiphone guitar as a gift and now needed a case. I sent a quick email to Zach (world's best customer service) and he led me right to this case. It is a perfect, snug fit and the finishes are beautiful. The navy lining is plush and the clasps are tight. Highly recommend!
It fits perfectly my Ibanez Artcore AF75 Red-sunburst. I'm a happy customer because I bought the case for that exact reason. I'm the type of person who does not like to take the straps off the guitar, and this case allows me to continue doing exactly that. The compartment is big enough to add some accessories, but most importantly I feel that the guitar is protected. the latch for the lock is not the nicest one of all my guitar cases — look closely in the picture — you would need a little pad-lock, similar to the ones you use for your luggage. No big deal, I just wanted to have a case to avoid my guitar become a dust bunny heaven. If you're an AF Series Artcore owner, this is a must-have.BeeZee
I use cases mostly for home atmospheric storage i.e. from humidity variations. First impression: the inside smells WONDERFUL – very pleasant and inviting. Though this is the specified case for Ibanez jazz boxes, at first I thought that the guitar (an AF71F) wouldn't fit inside. It seemed like the case waist was too small. However, there is some 'give' to the lining and with some firm, but gentle, pressure the guitar went inside … snug, though … like a hand in a glove. That's better than a case letting the instrument jostle around. TKL makes these cases for Ibanez branding, as well as for other brands. It's a fine case for a reasonable sum i.e. compared to the alternatives. The chromed fittings seem of nice quality, too. No hesitation recommending these cases.Discoveror

I'm not sure why the price of this model varies so widely between colors but luckily the combo I wanted, beige and black, is one of the less expensive models. I bought it to keep the dust off my Masterbilt AJ-45. Sure a hardshell case is always preferable but since I don't play out, I really only need protection from the mishaps that can happen around the house with dust, spills, dogs, and grandkids, and the Power Pad bag is a good looking and affordable option. The zipper doesn't track down below the guitar belly, but I can get my AJ in and out easily enough. The zipper pulls are covered with cloth tabs, which are a nice tough. There is a ring on the headstock end so I can hang it on a wall hook if I want to, and I plan to. I doubt I'll ever need to wear it like a back pack but if I do it is comfortable and light. Only time will tell how sturdy it is, but I am confident I can get many years use out of this bag.William in Carrollton
Nice bag for how cheap it is. Lots of useful pockets. That said, it doesn't have much structural support for the neck, so I'd definitely not trust it to be checked in at an airline. I'd say it's about the same as a Road Runner gig bag with slightly less padding. All in all, I'd prefer the roadrunner bag over this because it opens wider and has better padding. This gig bag barely opens wide enough to fit the guitar inside, so it's a little awkward. Nice looking though.Anthony
I bought this bag for my grand daughter who is learning to play guitar. I found her a very nice Washburn acoustic but came without a bag/case. This case filled the need nicely. I gave it 4 stars only because I didn't want anyone to think this case compares with a OE Taylor type gig bag. It's sturdy, attractive and has enough foam to protect the instrument. You can't toss this around but does provide appropriate care for the instrument. My grand daughter likes the storage pockets and the shoulder harness system. For the money, this is a pretty good bag.Curt

Overall: I got this case because I read a review that a Fender Telecaster would fit in it. What that review lacked is that it fits SNUG. I have to press the guitar into the case for it to fit. After some time I'm sure the case will "mold" to my tele but I just thought I should let you all know that before you buy it. I'm a pretty easy going musician but I know some people might be put off by that. The case has a soft interior and it appears to be very cheap but usable. If the insides of this case ever fall out, I'll just super glue it at a later date. Nice for what you pay for.The little storage cubby inside of the case is small. It fits my capo, a set of strings, picks and one lava cable. Sometimes you have to rearrange the things inside for the case to allow you to close it but again, I'm easy going. One of the latches on the outside seems to fit more loose than the others. Thankfully it's not a big deal when all of the latches are…erm.. latchedOverall it's a decent purchase. Keeps my tele out of a soft case.
Bought this case along with a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster thinking it wouldn’t be as nice as the similar Fender case that is around $80 more but I did think it would at least be a solid, protective case. It is not. Exchanged emails with AMS to authorize an exchange for the SKB case and was made aware exchanges are not allowed on Easy payment options. Makes sense, I just wasn’t aware and I’m sure I’m not the first caught off guard. Opted to return for a refund and was told card on file would be charged around twelve bucks. To return a junky case that has carpet on the interior lifting up, and that also has “tolex” pulling apart on the outside. Lame. Just get the skb, or even better, order the deluxe molded fender case from someone who stocks it and hopefully stands behind the products they sell. Maybe just a byproduct of the Amazon era where decades old retailers are essentially operating like a punk distro…..Ty
Great Case for a Great Price! I bought this case for a Squire Strat. It showed up at my house in 2 days. The quality surpassed my expectations! Finally, I had heard about the great customer service at Sweetwater and their customer service is Masterclass. My sales engineer (Mitch)checked in every step of the way. I would expect that for the the purchase on a high end guitar but I bought a guitar case. Will I buy from Sweetwater again? You bet I will.

Reviews:
I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice
I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase. The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. Also accessory zipper compartment.Lindy
I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice

I was given a beautiful custom bass by a legendary bassist. It set with pride in my Los Angeles living room for over a year. Realizing that it was getting dusty, I had to give it a proper case and this case FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. Plush and supportive, this case nestles my gift like a mother would hold her newborn. The accessories make it great for accommodating a 4 or 5 string bass. I couldn't be happier.Herbieus
This is an incredible case that is worth the extra money if your bass is one of the models it is designed to fit. Bass is very secure and this would be a good travel case. One potential draw back is that there is not much extra room in the case for things like a very wide strap or long chords but the extra padding and tight fit for the bass is worth carrying accessories and pedals in a gig bag.Tim
The case certainly seems protective, but I’m thinking I should have bought one level down. In the effort to make their top end case fit many basses, they sacrificed stability – too many moving parts inside that tend to come loose when taking the bass out – and storage space. There is none. All in all, a bit of a kludge.Vick

I still give this a 5star rating. For the price it's excellent. It's very comfortable to carry. The latches are easy to use. It's durable, much better constructed than a case that sells for $30 less that I looked at. It fits my 35" string length MTD 5-string with length to spare. Drawbacks: Obviously no concealed compartment inside so everything is visible when you open it at a gig, so a pouch for those private items is useful. (The lid seals the two aux compartments so things don't fly around loose.) I have to rotate the top tuner flat or the tuner rests on the bottom of the case (something to remember and never forget although not really major). "TSA Approved" implies you'd be flying with this thing… not a custom fit case to careful inner packing would need to be considered, right?Steve
I was looking for a case for my Sterling Ray 34 bass. I saw a previous review on here stating that they bought one for their Ray 34, and that it fit perfectly. So I bought it based on that. It fits darn near perfectly. Nice long neck support. 2 rather large storage compartments. Plush (chocolate colored) interior. And the TSA latches are tight and secure. If your looking for a nice, reasonably affordable case to protect your investment. Don't hesitate to give these cases a shot.Bill
Well the measurements were accurate and there was some padding that helped with enough space for my large bass guitar. A B.C. Rich Mockingbird bass ('84) that has a strange and beautiful shape to it. But many cases don't fit it. Some custom cases are hundreds more than this one and I'm thankful that it fits well. A little tight on the lower horn but it fits! I like the two spaces for misc. stuff. The light is a great added feature but haven't really used it yet. But nice to have it for that situation where you will need it. Its sufficiently different on the outside from a similar model so there is no confusion between my 2 basses.leonardo_rhema

Bought this case to have a better hardcase than the one I had previously used for gigging. So far, it seems durable and very easy to use. I trust my new bass guitar in this. For reference, I have a Fender Precision bass and it fits great. I like to decorate my cases with stickers of bands I've played with and the material seems to support that well. This is one of a few gator products I've purchased and I've always been impressed. I recommend this case for the musician who wants something solid but doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg.Zach
If you look at my question in the Q&A, "Beau" says "This case wouldn't be compatible but the Epiphone SG Hardshell Case would work well." Sorry Beau, you're wrong – I bought two of these and they fit my guitars nice and snugly – they won't be moving around at all, as you can see in the attached pics. The lower part of the body is a nice tight fit – these guitars won't be sliding around. Hopefully I can pick one more of these cases up soon. They are well-made and will protect your guitar properly!Tom

After purchasing the Schecter C Model guitar, I decided a beautiful guitar deserved a beautiful case. Storing my brand new guitar in a used case, it didn't seem right, so I ponied up for the right case that was meant to store such a a masterpiece of an instrument. Rugged, built for wear and tear and looks great! The plush blue lining is thick enough to keep the guitar snug when not being played. Lightweight, durable and good looking.Francie
Ok, so there is only so "fancy" a guitar case can be, right? Wrong. This case is a work of art. First off, it's kind of heavy-which I like. If you plan on carrying it for long distances, you may want to look elsewhere. Secondly, the interior fits my guitar very nicely. There is maybe 1/4" of space around the body of my CR-6,so it isn't snug, but once you latch it down, I can't feel any movement. Thirdly, the blue interior looks awesome. It's velvety, not furry like most cases. Fourthly, the latches look like any other guitar case latches, but they are painted black… they seem like they are coated with something. THEY DON'T MAKE THAT ANNOYING CLACKING NOISE! They open and close very smoothly. Finally, when the guitar is in the case, and you pick up the handle, it balances perfectly. Of course this will differ slightly depending on the guitar, but in my case it works very nicely.etaeniura
Very good buy that was suggested when I bought my Schecter Reaper-7. The guitar fits perfectly in there and doesn't move around at all. The only things I didn't realize when I bought it was that the cutouts for other gear inside the case weren't covered, so if it's not packed in well, there's a chance for it to move around inside. The latches and lock feel a little cheap, but still a good deal for the price. If you're worried about somebody getting into your case or if you want a better luck for say going through a baggage claim, I would look for something a little more expensive with better locks. I don't really have to worry about that, so it's perfect for me. If you want a case mainly for storage, like me, you'll be pleased with this product.Zack G

17. Monoprice Heavy-Duty 20mm Universal Black Gig Bag For Electric Bass Guitars – Indio Series
Specifications:
Product Dimensions | 23 x 16.5 x 5 inches |
Country of Origin | China |
Color Name | Black |
Reviews:
My heart is set on a Gator Transit series which is 5x the price of this one. Therefore, my expectations are unreasonable, even though Monoprice has always been known as an EXCELLENT value. I can't find anything on the mega-site named after a river that boasts the 20mm padding that this gig bag has for a price close to this one. Therefore, this bag is a great value for the money. It has one outside zippered pocket, nothing extra for neck support, and doesn't even have a strap to hold the neck. It has no soft fabric for the head, neck, or body area. It's just basic thin nylon (not abrasive, but not "soft" either). I don't expect the bag will fall apart, but I also don't expect it to provide a whole lot of protection from being dropped, etc. In short, I HOPED for better, but it's still an excellent value for an inexpensive padded gig bag.Michael
This bag came with my Indio electric guitar. It was good enough that I decided to order a second one for my Fender. It has adequate protection for around the house or reasonable transportation. I would have given 5 stars but there is a small 3/4 inch cut in the outer material at the headstock end. Everything else is fine. I expect to order one for my acoustic if they have the right size. Can't beat the price.New User
The Indio Bass Guitar Gig Bag is very high quality. I am in the process of moving, so ordered two of them hoping to provide the instruments with some protection. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the padding and excellent construction of the Indio product. The bag perfectly fit a full size, long scale Jazz Bass clone. I strongly recommend these to any buyer.Scott

Reviews:
I searched for quite a while to find a case which would fit my Takamine Tb-10 acoustic bass. This is the only case which provided measurements which seemed to fit the bill, In actuality, it was the ONLY case online that provided specs, interior and exterior. so I took the plunge. The case seems fairly well constructed, but it is made of Styrofoam , not foam "rubber". This probably was a blessing in disguise, because I had to modify it a bit to accept the bass comfortably. The "fur" cloth interior was fairly easily cut, so I could access the styro, and cut a bit away so that the headstock tuning gears could fit comfortably without detuning the instrument. A bit of rubber cement, and "oila" , a good fit. Also had to cut a bit away from the neckrest section, so the bass could be seated lower in the case, as it has a high doublebass-type bridge. All in all with a few simple mods, I was able to get a good fit, and I did not have to pay 2 or 3 times as much to get a custom built gigbag, The Takamine is a Hefty beast, and she destroyed a Levy's top-o the-line Acoustic bass gigbag that I possessed for several years. A very girthy bass, that Takamine.. I haven't had the opportunity to gig with the case yet as I have only had it a few days. One thing I dislike is that the shoulder straps are situated in such a manner that the bass neck rises at least 16 inches above my head, which is not that great at I live in NYC,am 6'2", and there is little clearance in subway trains. But I suppose I can have the straps re- sewn to fit my requirements. Another construction aspect that seems rather ill-conceived is the fact that the sturdy Nylon(or whatever other synthetic) cloth, does not cover the entire expanse of the case, as there is an open seam on the underside where the case opens out in clamshell fashion. Seems like it would allow moisture or grit to enter the case at this join. I don't know why the case is not entirely enclosed, must be cheaper to manufacture that way. I don't know if this might be problametic in terms of protecting the instrument, and hope not to find out the hard way. I suppose I could modify this aspect as well, but what on earth was the manufacturer thinking? When you have an instrument worth several thousand dollars, one would think that the case it inhabits should not allow any degree of moisture or debris to come in contact with it. The jury is still out on this gripe: only time will teel if this aspect of design proves to be problematic. , all in all , not ideal, but a workable way to get badly-needed coverage for my unusually large instrument, without having to pay in excess of $250.Reggie
There is not much selection out there when it comes to acoustic bass guitar cases and gig bags. I found my Gator Case/ gig bag on line and purchased at Guitar Center, San Jose, CA. The polyfoam is strong protection for my Ibanez AEB 10BE although it is not a perfect fit. Would be perfect if there were polyfoam peel off sections to custom fit major brand products. I like the gig bag type back pack straps which are perfect for airports or taking guitar to the beach. Zipper can tend to hang on the neck-to-body corners but the bag is very new so that will probably decrease with use. Overall very happy with this product. Price could be a bit lower or add the coustomization option (previously stated) and leave price the same.
It protects my guitar perfectlyMusic Lover
