Reviews:
There are nylon string sets and other brands that may fit certain styles of playing or specific player preferences better, but for the price, these Martin hard tension nylon sets are tough to beat. They seem to have pretty good string life and nice tone. I am happier with the wound bass strings than I am the trebles. I do prefer harder tension and some of the more expensive sets that have black or titanium trebles; but again, I come back to the Martins time and time again for the balance of good quality, for a great price. I've started playing Martins on my steel string guitars as well for similar reasons.Marshall
These are a great replacement for classical or nylon string folk guitars. Perhaps not quite as bright and sweet as say Fender Bullet nylon strings, but a much better value for money, longer lasting and resilient guitar string, not prone to breaking. I do recommend these as a general purpose string for beginners or parlour guitar use. Very nice, quite happy with these. I also highly recommend Martin Custom Light strings for dreadnought or steel string acoustic guitars.purchasefinger65

We love that the entire family was able to get another set of matching pajamasKasandra C.
I had the hardest time getting high E in my Steinberger Spirit, all other strings went in great bu the high E was a hair too short. had to extend the tuning screw to its max, and the ball really wanted to pop out as I tightened. I have another set of the same strings, we'll see if they have the same problem of if this was a one time thing.6StringsDaddy
My husband likes the Tidepool Watercolor short sleeve shirt. (We actually bought this in the 2T set, the women’s set, and the men’s set.) The pajamas are so comfortable and soft! Light and airy, but also perfectly warm. We are enjoying our PJ sets and are happy with the purchase!Melissa D.

I use Ernie Ball almost exclusively. But, this is the first time I used them on a classical Guitar. It took 5 days for them to stretch out and even begin to stay in close to in tune. Granted, I put them on a Córdoba C5….not the highest end guitar. But, they still should have taken less time to settle in. Also, the black nylon strings seem to have a much smaller diameter than the original Aquila strings. I love Ernie Ball strings, but going to have to to pass on this particular set.Dean
One of my students plays my classical guitar during practice and loves the sound of classical strings. He asked me to change over his old 3/4 guitar that didn't fret well with metal acoustic strings. I had ordered a pair of these in clear color in the past and have enjoyed the sound an endurance of these strings. My students guitar had a black pick guard so I picked these black strings to match the pick guard. Boy was I right. The cheap guitar played really bright and the color was captivating. I hated to give the guitar back to my student it played so well… I highly recommend for beginners and anyone wanting to switch over to nylon strings with a traditional western guitar… Order the clear for natural guitars and these blacks for sunburst or red, yellow or cherry burst or black colored guitars…Tiny Tim

To FranticCity's comment: I concur that these strings sound terrific. The fact remains that the high E string is too short for headless-guitar players using anything BUT a TransTrem. For those of us who are using other headless-system bridges – Steinberger's S-Trem and R-Trem – as well as the new and superb J-Custom / Headless Research bridges, D'addario has left us hanging. Why not design a string that will work with the many other fine Steinberger and Steinberger-style bridges out there ? Why confine your product so that it's useable only to a small subset of an already small niche of players ( the headless-guitar folks ) ?Midwest Picker

Reviews:
Definitely the best strings at the price point lately. They have a thinner or smoother wind than Ernie Ball slinkys or Daddarrio exl and this results in less finger noise and a zingier tone IMO. I'm into clean and classic rock, and I doubt you would like these over the former two names if you were into more modern and metal sounds. It depends on the guitar for me, on my strat I could use just about any strings. My guitars with humbuckers seem more picky, at least to my ears. I prefer these over the other two as far as cheap strings go, and these are often cheaper. Win win. Used to be I would never have preferred Fender strings so either my tastes are changing or these strings have changed over the years.Joelish
Overall: Don't pay any attention to the low price these are great strings. Have used Fender 7250's on all kinds of bass guitars they always sound great and feel good. Years of use have proved quality. I put them on my Jazz bass, my PJ, and my Squire, have used them on Samick, Music man, OLP, and Epiphone basses, all good.Scott
According to a Fender rep, these are what came on the Fender PJ bass I ordered from Musician's Friend. They produce the classic Fender tone I wanted. I eventually replaced them with a set of Fender 7250L (.040, .060, .080, .100) to make it easier to play on the guitar's 9.5" fingerboard radius. I stayed with Fender because of the tone that the 7250M strings produce. The Light's have slightly less oomph on the low end, yet all the tone while the lighter gauge makes for nice melodic work on the high end of things. If you have a Fender bass and want Fender tone…Vice

I must admit to some scepticism sio I only ordered one set, but have since orderd more. These play very well on my Gibson J45. I like the lighter gauge bass strings which give me a good clear tone without straining to fret the string. The relatively heavier treble gauges produce plenty of volume so the sound is more balanced than normal 10 gauge sets.barefootbutch
I bought these to curtail the low frequency boomy sound of a Martin guitar, but found them to be a poor choice as I got them out of the package. They felt porous and slightly unfinished as I was putting them on. After playing a few minutes it became obvious to me that they would tear up my frets and fretboard if I left them on. Save your money and your friend board, and buy something else.Worship Team Trader
Overall a good value in playability combined with pricing. As with all D'Addario string sets they come all in one pack and have color coded end balls to tell them apart quickly. I prefer single paper pack PER string, but this is how they save money in packaging. So, not very convenient but saves money for them and us. Really nice set of strings. Good tone and nice feel to the fingers. I will probably use them on all my acoustic guitars except those I play bottleneck on. These flatpick well and fingerpick nicely, very easy on the flesh of both hands. They have only been on for a week so I don't know about durability and how long the tone will sound like new. There is another brand that the Gypsy guitarists use. I haven't tried them and they do cost a little more than the D'Addario. After I get a set of the other brand I will let you know.

Reviews:
In case it is not clear, these are nylon string sets that have a "bead", as most electric or steel acoustic strings do, rather than two bare ends to each string. The result is a much reduced time needed to put them on the guitar, as the "crafts fair" fiasco the other, Luddite strings require of you at the bridge end is eliminated. Note: the nylon strings have a plastic bead bearing against a knot in the string. This is ok, but the user should pay heed to clipping the excess end of nylon beyond the bead to ensure it does not become a "snare" rattling against the guitar's resonant top.Tone
As far as I tried sets of nylon string to my MARTIN 000C Nylon, this Martin M260 80/20 Bronze with ball end is the best. I have tried D'addario Folk Nylon before but its sound too warm for 000C. I have also tried M260 with my Parlor Art and Lutherie (Ami), the strings give more clarity and brightness to its Cedar top. Normal tension from Martin Nylon is less than D'addario Nylon. Bottom line result, M260 gives "steel string feeling and sound" if you like finger-style or something not too classical.Kritsada
I thought I would try these as there are ball end and faster to change, and I thought I had used them before with satisfaction. The strings I took off were about 2-3 months old and as I was getting ready for a jam session thought I would replace. Big disappointment: the higher strings sound dull and lifeless . . . worse than the old strings I was replacing. The bronze lower strings are fine, but will not buy again. Now if I could just remember what brand the old strings were!Doc

these are yummy in da tummy I have had these for 2-3 months i cant remember but, they still look and feel new. i havent had any problems with these, in the past i used regular ernie ball slinkys or slinkies? idk how you would spell it, but i play hard and with the regular 10's i broke a string at least every two weeks. and i have had these for a while now and still they are perfect. and i experiment in different tunings often and they stay in tune great. i have a epiphone les paul plus top with seymour duncan model 59's and they sound AWESOME! but yeah, i would highly recommend these strings. they cost a little more but they are really worth it. And they will last a long time. well they did for me.
I've been playing the guitar for over 45 years, gigged the whole works. For the past 30 – 35 years I've only used one brand of strings…. Ernie Ball. They give me the feel I like as well as the tone As a guitarist that is very important, we spend lot of time "finding" our sound. These strings helped me obtain that many years ago. 18. Ernie Ball Earthwood Folk Nylon Guitar Strings Clear & Gold Ball End
Product Details:
Designed for use on classical guitars, the plain strings are made of a solid nylon filament. it is similar to, but not the same as, the nylon used for fishing line. first, second and third strings are clear, ball end. this set of earthwood 80/20 bronze folk nylon acoustic guitar strings from ernie ball is a distinct take on the classical guitar string. this pack features ball ends for easily securing strings to the bridge. the treble strings are fashioned of a solid nylon clear filament, while the bass strings are made of a multifilament nylon floss core wrapped with 80/20 bronze alloy wire. producing a warm tone that is rich in treble with a percussive attack, this set is ideal for fingerstyle and folk players. their soft feel is easier on the fingers than steel strings, and the ball ends make string changes a cinch.
Reviews:
I highly recommend these strings for darker sounding acoustics. I installed them on my new Epiphone DR-100, and they sound amazing. Much better than the factory strings, in my opinion. I normally like phosphor bronze acoustic strings, but I've found that the DR-100's sound better with the brighter 80/20 bronze strings. Full disclosure, I'm a big fan of Ernie Ball strings in general. I use exclusively the RPS Hybrid 9-46 strings on my electrics. Also highly recommended. Great price on the 3 packs of these. I also really like the 11-52 gauge, vs 12-54. Both sound great, but the slightly lighter gauge works best for me, since I play electric much more often than acoustic. Enjoy!!waterboy411
I've been playing guitar since 1969, and have used countless brands and varieties of acoustic guitar strings. My first go around with Earthwood strings was less than impressive, as I had the ball end fall off of the high E as I was removing it from the package. This put me off Earthwoods for a while, but when I came across an inexpensive project guitar a while back the only acoustic strings available to me at the time were Earthwoods. I bought that set out of necessity and strung the guitar up. I love the gauge of this set since it's only slightly heavier than the sets I've been using on my electrics for years and very comfortable to play, while not sacrificing much in the bottom end of the tone. I was thoroughly impressed with these strings to the point that they're now my go to acoustic strings. Naturally every guitar is going to sound slightly different and every player will have different taste in the way a set feels and sounds to them, but these are my favorite right now. Definitely worth a try if you've never tried them and are looking to replace a set.papastratomaster
I tried these on a recommendation from a friend. I used to use Martin Strings with Medium/12 Gauge. I switched to these because it was a little hard on my hands to get through a full gig. I liked the tone on the Martins a little better but these come in at a close second in my opinion but gives me the options of doing easier bends and double stops. I tried the "one" set before ordering the "three". Recommend doing the same. Great value for the $.hammer_101

I'm not a Ukulele expert so it's difficult to have an objective opinion. I enjoyed the feeling of black nylon strings on my classical guitar, and I also prefer Ernie Ball for electric guitars… so I tried these strings. I don't know how it is compared to other strings but it sounds good, it feels good, and also… it looks good 😉
So easy to install, sound great and a pleasure to play with. Rock on!avlisa0

Reviews:
I bought these as I was after some clear nylon strings due to being no longer able to obtain any of my favourite strings due to post-Brexit import issues. At first I thought these might be a good replacement as the sound was nice, clear and bright with excellent sustain. So I bought some more to try on my other ukuleles. However I discovered a few times whilst re-stringing that a string would occasionally snap during the stretching out process (most commonly the 2nd E string). I had never come across this before, and have to admit I began to lose a bit of confidence in these strings. After using the strings for a while I also began to find the very bright sound just a little bit too harsh and brash for my ears. I have tried the black nylon version as it is the mellower version, however I found they went a bit too far the other way. So I would sum up these strings for me as "brash, bright and brittle". Good enough, and certainly very bright and clear with excellent sustain at a good price. The ball ends are really a great idea, especially on my Kanile'a with it's bridge pins.robertotango
I bought these to put on an inexpensive ukulele with a slotted bridge. The wood had cracked a little on the G string, so I thought the ball ends would be better than tying a great, big knot. I've purchased the strings before for a uke with bridge pins, and the "balls" on the strings were attached to the string itself and clear or maybe white. This set is different. They have knots tied in them and little black beads strung onto the string. Well, I could have done that myself with my favorite string brand. They work, they're just not what I expected. The black beads look a little wonky, but they work. Just not what I expected, and if you have purchased these before, they might not be what you expect either.baxter-k
Haven’t used yet…. Good service from you guys and great range.Patrick T.
