Guitar Amp Speaker Wattage For Sale (2024 Update)

Where do I start? Well, how about, this is the best tube amp I have ever played! 62 years with many guitars and many amps, some owned, some borrowed, and some tested in music shops, might give me a little credibility. I have loved a Fender Twin Reverb, made in the 50s that my uncle Keith, and my guitar mentor, loaned me for a while. It just sounded so good. Never could seem to find cash, or justification to buy a tube amp, but have owned a hal a dozen solid states. THEN THIS LITTLE BEAUTY! Having played the Twin for a couple of years, and others such as a Mesa Boogie, VOX's, and too many others to recall, THIS monster sounds like most of them with just little tweaks of the knobs and my guitar switches. I have played country, 60s and 70s rock, blues, finger-style instrumentals, gospel, etc. I believe this is the PERFECT combo, with the correct (JJ) tubes, a sweet (and dirty when desired) Seventy/80 speaker, and an amazing diversity of sounds, which works in every genre I play! I do not know how anyone can find reason to bad mouth this. I had it for 2 weeks, was asked to fill an absent, guitarist's spot at an outdoor venue, I took this little amp. We played to an area the size of a football field. I set the amp on 1 Watt, until I could hear it cleanly (behind me on stage), let the sound man mic and mix me in. Never had to turn it above about 4, with gain between 1 and 4, and many complemented me on my sound, and musicians asked me WHAT IS THAT LITTLE AMP? Those are the good points. I can only think of two piddly things I would like to see changed, and one would be a standby switch, and the second being a way to run the external speaker WITHOUT cutting off the amp speaker. Until then, I will just keep playing this sweetheart amp, and enjoy the statements about "my sound," and the question of WHAT IS THAT LITTLE AMP? Keep playing everybody…and maybe buy one of these. These amps are fantastic, and at these bargain prices you simply can't go wrong. I upgraded the reverb tank in mine to a Mod and changed the speaker for a Warehouse GC12. OMG, this thing is a beast! Another WGS option I've seen people use is the ET65 for a more British tone, also with good results. The stock speaker is not too bad, but this one simple upgrade of swapping the speaker takes the amp to the next level. It just sounds awesome. The upgraded reverb tank is also an improvement, but not as much as I thought it would be. If I had to do it over again I would just take out the stock tank and use a pedal for reverb and make the amp even lighter to haul around. The more important upgrade imo is the speaker. It really makes a world of difference. Grab one reasonably while you still can, the price keeps creeping up and up and up… !Jeff

After a number of FEDEX issues, I received my amp about 5 days later than estimated. It did arrive in excellent condition and was worth the wait. The Stage Right 611815 has a really sweet tone that sounds particularly good with the single coil pickups on my Fender Sratocaster Player. It breaks up nicely! The reverb works perfectly, and is fine for most playing but you might want an external reverb unit if you are playing Dick Dale tunes. A really nice feature for home playing is the 15W/1W switch, where you can limit the amp to 1 W (be aware that with sound, you have to increase the wattage by 10 times to double the perceived volume, so the 1W setting is a lot more than 1/15th as loud as the 15W setting). It is a bit unusual to have a tone control along with the more common bass, middle and treble controls. Personally, I would have labeled the Tone control as Presence, because that is what it seems to be. I have mostly been playing in the 1W mode with all the controls (including reverb) at 12 o clock, and that is working out great. As far as construction, the amp looks fantastic and gives a vintage look that hints at its tone! The dark grill cloth provides a nice contrast with the blonde tolex, giving a true vintage appearance. The retro red, jeweled pilot light and metal toggle switch complement the vintage styling Keeping with the vintage look, the control panel is chrome with retro chicken head knobs. As others have mentioned, the control names are a little bit difficult to read on the chrome panel. After you use the controls once, you know where they are, so does it really matter (I noticed the blonde version of the Fender Blues Jr also uses a chrome control panel…probably where Monoprice got the idea)? The tolex is neatly installed and glued, at least the parts that are exposed. The leather handle is also reminiscent of old school amps. And I really like the metal corner protectors…very nice. As proudly announced by a badge on the front panel, the amp is equipped with a Celestion speaker…a Seventy 80 The only criticism of the construction, and it is minor, is that the 8 external screws are not chamfered properly to mesh with the finishing washers, which result in the screw heads protruding above the washers. The amp has a jack for an external speaker. When you plug in an external speaker, the internal speaker is shut off, as is common with guitar amps. The reason is if you plug in an external 8 ohm speaker and the internal speaker would still be on, a (combined) 4 ohm load would be presented to the amplifier, which it is not designed to handle. The back is open. The line cord is not detachable, but can be conveniently stowed in the back of the amp. The amp has an effects loop, which I have not tried yet. The amp is now equipped with JJ brand tubes and a metal, two spring, reverb tank, which are upgrades from the original issue I wish I could find a nice, economical (i.e. $20) dust cover for the amp. The only ones I can find are priced at $50 or more, a bit much for protecting an inexpensive amp. In conclusion, the Stage Right 611815 amp looks great and sounds great, and I highly recommend it.Chris

I use a Marshall DSL20HR through a Blackstar cab with a Celestion Seventy 80 in it. I could only get a usable sound by turning the presence all the way down and the treble most of the way down. It was too ice-picky otherwise. I replaced the Seventy 80 with this Greenback, and what a difference. It warmed up the sound considerably without muddying it in the least.Bates

Overall this is my favorite Celestion speaker. I am running through a boutique Swart MOD 84 VOX inspired 15-watt amp and this speaker works perfectly! It sounds great clean with chimey and sparkling highs. Very articulate and touch sensitive. When overdriven it has the characteristic velvety smooth mids and tight bass. This is the sound of mid 60s through the 70s Rock and British Blues. AMS has great deals and payment plans to help musicians of all kinds. AMS shipped quickly. This is a great speaker. I have them in a 2×12 and use it with a Marshall JCM 800 50 W head and a Orange OR 15 head. The vintage tones are great. Really, off the map great. I see why Hendrix, ACDC, EVH and others rave about this speaker. I've experimented with lots of speakers, mixing different speakers and the Greenbacks give me a wow moment everytime. The cleans are crisp and clear. The distorted tone is vintage, very natural, and pure magic. Glorious! Sounds great with my les paul and strat — any guitar and any head. Best for classic rock vintage tones, blues, country or jazz. Metal players should look at something else. The only thing is they are rated 25W which can limit how you use it. Still, well worth the trade-0ff. If you like your amp but are struggling finding that tone we all search for, look at trying these speakers before you buy a new amp. The impact to your tone by adding these speakers is huge. This will upgrade any rig. Highly recommended.Ron

I put this in an old Vox VT15 Pawn shop find. It worked well for a few years but it konked out, and I didn't want to spend a ton on a little practice amp. This little speaker did the trick. I really think I'm getting better tones out of this speaker than the speaker that it came with. I only replaced the speaker a little over a month ago, but so far, I feel like I gave my amp an upgrade. I did not expect that.DeadWeasel

Fantastic amp for the price! The clean channel is great, and has time delay effects that is unexpected for an amp in this range. The overdrive is excellent too, and you can control different frequencies as well. It also has two inputs for guitars, and a microphone input! So you can jam with friends and sing along. Alone, the V30's highs are shrill and will drive you nuts. To maximize the advantages of this speaker, I suggest you mix them in an X pattern. I have mine mixed with G12T-75s in one cab and G12H in the other. Both sound great at any volume and with the V30s cut through the mix at gig volume. In short, this is a great speaker for the gigging lead guitarist who must project his sound. Works best at high volume which it handles with ease. This speaker's harsh tone can be tamed when paired with another speaker which will improve your tone. It works well with every speaker I paired it with. Not a good choice for a warm amp without good high frequencies ! My Jet City 2212c amp has a bright attack using a Legend 1258 speaker and even brighter with the stock custom Eminence speaker but this SPEAKER fixed the harsh attack and added nice harmonics I did not hear before from this amp ! I had my eyes opened when I tested the Jet City amp with the vintage 30 that came in my BadCat Cougar 5watt tube combo , wow what a difference ! This amp gets mediocre reviews with the stock speaker , not mediocre anymore and can cut up the treble or presents control for more of a Vox top boost amp tones ! It gets overdriven to clean like Tom Petty tones now ! Careful choosing a Cream back Celestion the EQ on my G12 65M cuts midrange noticeably which I did not like but it sure sounds good too ! You need beautiful midrange go with the Vintage 30 no question !golddust742

I had long heard about the celestion vintage 30 but only recently decided to see what the hype was all about. I can say that this speaker has truly made a huge difference in sound. Each note emanating from my guitar is now rich and full. This speaker makes the clean channel of my amp sound warm and chimey. And the gain channel packs much more punch. I bought two of the V30s to go into an 4×12 cab along with two Celestion G12H-75s that is being powered by a new Orange Rockerverb 100W MKIII. Unfortunately, I had some tube socket issues and had to send it to Atlanta for diagnosis and repair so I haven't had the opportunity to play this combo out. However, I do have an 8 ohm version in another cab that I've had for 3 years and all my comments will refer to this particular speaker. The Vintage 30, for all its so-called shortcomings of spikey mid-range sound, is still one of the best speakers I have ever used. When I hear comparisons on YouTube, against a WGS Veteran 30, for example, I keep coming back to the full bodied sound that the Vintage 30 imbues. I have another one that replaced an Eminence special design transducer in a Supro that sounds much better than the original. The sonically pleasiing tones this speaker dishes out improves over time. The highs get less shrill and the speaker warms up. It's never flubby. Do check out this speaker. I can't wait to get my Rockerverb back in operation to put the V30-G12H combo through it's paces. It's not the best value speaker around at close to $160 a pop, although I was able to get a decent price on eBay. Then again, you get what you pay for.mwmcwilliams

I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For a Deluxe or a Pro in a honkytonk bar, these are just the ticket.edol9871

For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson

I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.

Because the Stage Right 5-watt tube amp (#611705) has control knobs only for Volume and Tone, I found that I get the best-to-my-ears guitar sound when I put an equalizer pedal between the guitar and amp and then adjust the equalizer to the tone that I'm looking for. On the guitar the Volume and Tone knobs are set fully open and on the 5-watt tube amp the Tone knob is fully closed and the Volume knob is set to the volume level acceptable to the environment (for home practice the Volume knob is set to level 3 at full 5-watts). The Stage Right 5-watt tube amp is my first tube amp after having used modeling amps for at least five years. I had heard that tube amps more often than not sound better than modeling amps. After now having experienced using a tube amp I agree that tube amps (at least the Stage Right 5-watt amp) sounds better than the modeling amps I've used (which to me sound great too). If you're looking for your first tube amp (like I was) or you are looking for a low-watt tube amp for home use then I highly recommend the Monoprice Stage Right 5-watt tube amp #611705. Review about Monoprice customer support: The 5-watt tube amp that I initially received had a cosmetic defect (a hole) on the textured surface on the front side of the amp. The Volume knob when set to fully opened level 10 produced normal speaking level sound instead of the noise-complaint loud volume that I expected. Monoprice customer service was great and easy to work with in submitting an amp replacement request. I described the problems, sent pictures of the cosmetic defect and a video demonstrating the Volume problem. After Monoprice customer service reviewed the pics and video they sent me a free shipping return label, a RMA label, and they ordered me a replacement amp which arrived within 7 days after I submitted the replacement request. The replacement amp that I received had no cosmetic defects and the Volume knob set to max level 10 is loud enough to generate noise-complaints from neighbors, though I normally use the amp at Volume level 3 for home use.New User

For the price (I got it when priced $119) it is fantastic. It's simple, straightforward and sounds good. Nice warm tones. If you're a fantastic guitar player, this amp will sound fantastic. If you're an okay guitarist, you might want to invest in some pedals (or just keep practicing). I only say that because it is very clean and bright and it really shows off what you're playing. (I've been known to hide my sloppiness with reverb, distortion, etc.) BUT It does take pedals well – thankfully! Adding a good reverb pedal, delay and an overdrive to go along with this little guy is a good idea. The Pros: Value to Price ratio. Looks well built. Warm tube sound. The handle (yes I am talking about the amp's handle) is nice! Better than I expected. In fact, everything looks pretty good (except the cheap control knobs). 5 watts is plenty loud for home/recording use. The Cons: Good sounding, but there are better sounding. Please don't buy this thinking that this is a $500 amp. It is not. But sub $200 it is a good one. The chickenhead knobs are cheap looking. I took them off and painted them. But that's a dollar or two easy fix (if it bothers you at all). Overall: I totally recommend for $150 or less. Probably for $200. If the prices climb too much beyond that, I think there are other options. If you want to jam at home and record with it, I think you'll be happy.Brad

The Monoprice 5 watt guitar amp arrived just a few days after ordering, and arrived in good shape, due in part to the excellent shipping carton. Upon taking it out and inspecting it, I could find no flaws in the cabinet, and due to the cream color of the covering, it seemed a little bigger than I was expecting. I plugged it in, let it warm up for almost an hour, and then plugged in an ES339, using no pedals. At first, I wasn't all that pleased with the sound I was getting, but it was my fault. I had it adjusted as I do with my Albion Hybrid, but that wasn't the way. I found the best sound came from turning the Monoprice all the way up, and then use the guitar controls for volume instead. That did it, and the little amp came a alive in a big way! Sounding very similar to a Fender champ, it could go from nice clear tones to crunchy heaven with the ES339's humbuckers. I plugged in a Strat with an HSH configuration, and the single coil really made it sound Fenderish. Sweet. The only thing I found one might improve on the amp, is the speaker. As such, I plugged into the built-in external speaker jack on the back, a little Randall 8" cabinet. That really did it for me. The sound was fantastic through the entire spectrum, and was loud enough to be heard down the block. I then bi-amped it with the Albion, and the sound had all the creamy goodness I've been seeking, and that is how I now have it setup for daily use. That said, there's nothing wrong with the stock speaker on the Monoprice, and I suspect it will satisfy most users. Am very happy with this purchase, and glad I bought it for such a great price. Almost every electric guitar player could find a use for this amp. Buy before the price goes up, or they quit making them!T

Worst part-breaking it in. Best part-everything else. I bought a pair of these on sale from GC years ago. Just couldn't get a great tone when I first installed them in a 212 poplar cab I built. I don't play very loud, or at least I never use to. Kept going back to them once in a while. After break in, it had that classic 70's hard rock greenback tone. After 10 hours the bass come out. After 20 hours the flatness went away as the highs started to bloom. Lovely round and warm clean tone, but has those lovely highs. Not brittle at all. I would recommend anyone buying these to make sure you give them time to break in. It is worth it. I would have rated this a 4/5 speaker at purchase(cheaper than a heritage) after 20 hours(maybe less if you play loud) Everything smooths out. No fizz, no brittle top end. Just really nice tone. What prompted this review was a recent move. I still have 7 speakers that need a home so was thinking of swapping out the EVH and maybe selling them. Been sitting under my Traynor YBA-1 for a long time. I don't play it because even at only 40 watts it will shake the neighbours windows. Tried my Phaez Pasadena 22 watt sounded like marshall goodness. Plugged in my lunchbox 15 watt Dark Terror with very low gain and high master. Got those cleans I was mentioning. (I know everyone thinks the dark terror is a metal amp, which it can be, but it also has great cleans. A whole lot of tones from a single tone knob amp) Tried a red knob Fender Champ with a lineout I made. Just wow. Chimey cleans. Can't recommend these enough. I like the regular greenback, but there is a bit of high end harmonics on it that don't always suit what I am playing. Use to play with Vin30s in my Traynor YCS50H, but I keep going back to the orange with these two. At least for home use. Hope you got a good idea of how this sounds. I also recommend looking up Zilla Cabs, they have done some terrific comparisons of various greenbacks. Johan Segeborn as well has tried many of the greens against each other too. Really good sounding speaker. I am especially impressed with the clean tones that this speaker produced. I am playing it through my Friedman Runt 20 watt head and matching speaker cabinet. I was surprised that this speaker was made in the UK and not in some other country. I only have about an hour on it so far and know that it will sound better when I get some more hours on it, buy I am impressed with the tone of this speaker so far. I believe it is a good value for the money.John

The Celestion G12 EVH is an excellent sounding speaker. I purchased a 2×12 cabinet a few years ago with a Celestion Greenback reissue and a G12H30 inside. After giving the cabinet plenty of break in time I thought it was lacking something so I started rolling speakers. After several combinations I decided to purchase the G12 EVH to replace the greenback. Even before a full break in I could hear the difference. The EVH just has an overall a better tone. Don't get me wrong here, the greenback RI is a good sounding speaker but for this particular cabinet ( Bogner 2×12 diagonal) I feel the EVH has a superior tone. It's more expensive than the reissue greenback but to my ears it's worth the price. As always your mileage may vary.dslgolf

I play gigs every week, and use Crate 120 watt GFX-212, I play a seven string guitar and the bottom end has always been muddy. The speakers broke up and I contacted Eminence to see if I should use the Texas heat or the swamp thang. The said these were great speakers but for the seven string they recommended this speaker. I took there suggestion and am extremely pleased. I can turn the bass all the way up and the low B string rings clear, the highs are clear was well. Overdrive screams like it should. The clean setting is so clear I can not believe it. The one thing I was not prepared for about the speakers is they are about twice as loud as my old ones. They are however thee times the weight of my old speakers,but well worth the extra weight of my cabnets. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone. These have a seven year warranty from the manufacturer as well.The Boz

Had a Superchamp X2 and decided to pick up a Superchamp mini stack to use for jamming with friends. Like the range of sounds and moderate volume of the amp, but felt like the shrill Celestion in the 1×12 cabinet could be improved on. I never used the EV 12 but wanted to see if this take on that speaker could round out the sound. This guy is heavy… reminded of lugging around the old JBLs. I added fiberglass to the cabinet and mounted the big guy. Even with minimal breakin, this thing sounds great. Big tight bottom, clear as a bell mids and highs with no ice pick. And so efficient it makes the little Superchamp louder. This speaker sounds like it puts out the best your amp can give it without breaking a sweat. I'd recommend it for any amp but especially modeling amps. Very musical… great speaker for the moneyOld Guy playing at home

i have the id260tvp and brought it to the store to a/b with the silverline stereo combo. Well its laid out exactly the same uses same not so great foot switch and has the same weird effects loop thing. Sound wide its doiff but not really better. the silverline has diff speakers so there is your diff. The id260tvp used a sharc processer as well and i suspect its pretty much the same guts with diff speakers. My test came away thinking that for $350 more i could get a guitar..or a used b lues cube hot or some other amp. My point is the aesthetics are nice and more modern but weight is same and size is same and the things messed up with the tvp version 1 are not solved in this. Look for a used tvp260 its a better deal and so close in tones. The smaller silverline combos are better deals if you must have this. Also why is the head not stereo??LAME!alehbaba

A far more cosmetically pleasing continuation of the original ID: series. Fantastic digital amp that goes toe to toe with any tube amp. I've owned a heap of high quality tube amps, including two real 68 Princetons, Marshalls, Genz Benz, Fender etc. But I keep selling them in favor of my digital Blackstars. Wish they paid me to say all this, cause I'm not getting a dime from Blackstar. I even sold my hardwired Blackstar Artisan 15 in favor of the digital.Happy Historian

Let me start by saying I love literally everything else Blackstar does. But the entire silverline series shouod be scrapped First off, modelled tub response? Why? Were you really trying to build an overglorified multi-processor? If you want an amp with tube response i got news for you, get a tube amp. Now lets dive in to the execution. Simply put if you have a hollow body guitar, dont even bother. The noise this thing generate will become feedback at 20% gain. If you have a solid body, you are safe from the noise till you start pushing 50%. To give credit where due. The actual sound of the amp and its tone itself isn't bad. I'd say it does as well as any other multieffects processor with tube and cab response. But the amount of just static noise these piles produce has no chance of making a live recording sound good or not driving a sound engineer mad.Chad C

A lot of sound options and a lot of output and input options small footprint solid construction. Very easy to use and get sounds you like almost immediately. This little box is absolutely what I was looking for in a small practice amp. Amazingly loud and clear with excellent tone and sound from such a small package. I bought this thinking I'd probably just play through the headphones, but the speakers actually sound great at low to middle volume. You'll probably just leave the 'wide' setting on all the time like I do. Not sure how they do it, but it's a pretty cool trick how it expands the sound. The effects are fantastic as well. My favorite is the stereo chorus with a little overdrive, but the flanger and phazer are also awesome. Tons of preprogrammed options that let me sound any way I want even though it's such a small package. Bonus added with the Bluetooth ability. I can now play along with my favorite tunes because both the stream and my guitar can play through it simultaneously. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the look of the unit. I really wanted to like this amp. Really I did! But unfortunately it fell way way short. It does NOT sound like 50w. In fact, Vox should be embarrassed to claim this is 50W. I typically play through a Fender Rumble 30(W) and the Vox was not half as loud on a side by side comparison (using P-bass). BIG strike 1. The Vox was well more than double the cost of my Fender Rumble 30. Strike 2. The Vox had no DI out nor an external speaker output. Strike three. If the Vox would have had a DI out or a Ext Speaker out, I probably would have kept it. The built in modeling were great, but just under powered. Instead the Vox enginers decided that a USB port was more important than a Ext Speaker out. Swing and a miss here. Again, I really wanted to like this amp, but it's destined to be just an overpriced practice amp. I guess I'll just stick with my Fender 30 W.ESharp Harp

If you are looking for an acoustic amp on a budget, look no further. The Acoustic A1000 is well made, sounds great and has the bells and epistles of a much more expensive amp. I have compared this to the Fender Acoustasonic 40 and there is no contest. I even play my Strat on a few songs in Channel 2 and use a Behringer DI to the PA. It doesnt sound like a Twin Reverb but it is also very acceptable. However, it makes my Martin GPCPA1 sound fantastic! I added a Boss Acoustic pre-amp pedal and the sound is so authentic! Cant beat the price at Guitar Center either. Do yourself a favor and try it out. It deserves recognition!!!!csman1951

I've had this amp for just about a year now and the sound of this amp is amazing. I originally went in to buy another brand (Fender Acoustasonic) but when I tried it out, I just didn't like the sound so I plugged into this model. Man, what I difference. Two inputs per channel, two channels, each with it's own effects bank. The effects sound great, and you can program up to 20 of your own presets. That takes a bit to understand how to do it though. I ended up buying the floor model since they didn't have any in stock, with a discount. When I got home, and after a few days of playing, I noticed a rattle that was coming from the head unit. I moved the amp to different rooms and tried different settings but it didn't clear it up. I brought it back to CG and they ordered me a new one, at the regular price of course. Had the new one within a few days. I've used it with the Bluetooth at an event and it worked flawlessly. Plenty of volume too. I've also recorded direct out to a Tascam recorder and it sounded great. The only thing I would've liked if it had a foot switch to turn off effects but that's about my only complaint. I even got a price match not long after I bought it when it went on sale. The auto-feedback killer is nice and it doesn't effect the tone, in my opinion. I play a Godin A6 Ultra and a Gibson J-180EC through it, both sound amazing.Freditor

This all-in-one acoustic guitar amp is a good fit for a singer-songwriter needing a reliable, portable rig to amplify voice and guitar in small & medium venues or small outdoor spaces (e.g., farmers markets). The amp has 2 separate channels, each with 2 inputs (accommodating either 1/4" instrument or XLR mic cables). Each of these channels has distinct dedicated EQ, FX, and line out (for recording or running to a bigger board). This is ideal for a single performer who wants to treat their voice and acoustic guitar separately (picture a reverb on voice, delay on guitar, separate EQ, and both running in dedicated lines to a recorder for live recording mixdown). But the additional two "passenger" inputs allow some flexibility for special guests or secondary instruments which can get their own level but piggyback on either channel 1/2 EQ/FX/output (e.g., a backup vocalist or keyboard). For many small venues hosting mostly solo/duo acoustic performers (coffee shops, farmers markets, etc.), this would be an adequate house PA, and would likely also suffice for open mic hosts in most situations. With 100W, this unit can project in mid-size venues or larger open air situations (music in the square, "gazebo series," etc), but would understandably not cover the requirements of a large club, theater, or festival stage. The sound quality is clear and easy to dial in. Good sound can be achieved with minimal effort and intuitive adjustment. For a unit of this size and power, it is comparatively lightweight, but obviously heavier (roughly 40lbs) than its smaller cousins. The wedge shape also can make it slightly awkward to carry at this size. Still, at the end of the day, this is something that one person can carry with one hand, and would fit pretty neatly in the back of a tour van.Cody

I bought this for an upcoming camping trip and I am very happy with the tone and volume when using AmpliTube. I usually use an AXE-FX III through 4000w of FRFR speakers so I am really spoiled tone wise. I wasnt expecting much but at the price point it was worth a try and I must say I am quite pleased.galacticore

I didn't have huge hopes for this, but the second I turned it on the hissing white noise sound that came out made it clear that this amp was not for me. Even without anything plugged in and all of the knobs turned to zero, as much as I turned up the volume, that's how much noise I got. This DID not work at all for me with the Amplitube phone app, but did with the Amplitube computer app – with some significant drawbacks. The audio level was low, and when I turned it up to get some usable volume, that ever-present background noise just killed the tone. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this.B.G.

I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For a Deluxe or a Pro in a honkytonk bar, these are just the ticket.edol9871

For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson

I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.
