It has to work better than Fretlight, because their software freezes and crashes and their guitar's bluetooth does not connect! Downloaded software and looked at the wealth of content – way more! The software looks like it was written in the last 5 years (not in 2001) too. So if the bluetooth actually connects and the software actually runs without crashing, I will be blown away. A lot less 1 star reviews too, so this might have a chance. I gambled the cash for it and will shell out more for lessons online once I've trialed it for a month… Since I actually review products and services and post that, I'm their worst possible customer.geomarr
I'm always playing around with a few cover songs and scales and I like trying new gear so when I saw this product, I had to pick it up. Got a bit of help installing from the Youtubes and it works great. On top of the native app, there are other apps that work with it that I mess around with like UberChord and Guitar 3D. I purchased thia fret polishing solution after finding it more expensive than anticipated to source the very fine grade wet and dry paper online. Having tried both methods of removing slight tarnish from my guitar frets, I found this product lacks the abrasiveness required to achieve a proper fret shine. I'm glad to have this guitar in my small collection of guitars. It's built and designed well. The EMG active pickups it is equipped with is the most popular combination used by big name guitarists in their music. The finish looks great, neck feels great, multiscale is comfortable, fret work is great, came set up out of the box. I was completely happy until I plugged it in and it just didn't work. I'm sure this is a 1 in 500 instance. The guitar itself was great. If you want a super playable 8 string with a neck that feels as accessible as most 7 strings….this guitar is a great pick. I just can't give any further review on the Jackson blade pickups that replaced the EMGs that were in previous models.Andy
I've had this guitar for a few weeks now. I use it mostly for metal, but have also used it for classic rock songs during a gig. Before I get into the bad stuff, let me just say this guitar is awesome. This guitar was absolutely awful when it arrived. Aside from Fedex taking a .75" chip out of the body, it wasn't set up in the slightest. The original strings are way way too thin on the low end, the action is all over the place, and the neck had a pretty gnarly back bow. That being said, switching to heavier strings, setting up the neck and actions it is one of the best 8 strings I have played. I was a little concerned going with the passive pickups, but they have plenty of bite for heavy tones while providing plenty of clarity for clean parts. This guitar plays and sounds great. If you're thinking about getting it, do it!S.

This fret wire is easy to tool. Installed in a carvin guitar for a customer. Bends fairly easy. I cut to length with a dremel diamond saw. Fret files go through easily. There are different grades of stainless steel and I am sure this is not the toughest there is. I don't think one would want that anyway because it would certainly be very hard to level and recrown. It polishes up to a high sheen. Now, how will it stand up? We will have to see. The guy really wore the old frets out on the guitar so I know he will put these stainless steel frets through a workout. I hope to inspect them sometime in the future. But so far they were pretty much the same process installing them as nickel/silver frets. I will probably install more in the future. Really turned out to be one of the best fret jobs I have ever done. The guy was really happy. If your trying to decide on it and you or someone else has refretted before just go for it. If I can save just one person from throwing their money away or ruining their guitar, it was worth it. There are so many cheaper ways to learn guitar that won't damage your instrument.
The LED strip which I applied carefully after watching the video listed with their instructions. It started to buckle and shed. Made the neck very uncomfortable and got rubber or plastic shavings all over the guitar. Also the LEDs on the high E string fall off. They offer a warranty, yet don't honor it because I bought this sealed unit from someone other than Fret Zealot directly. I tried to get them to do the right thing and replace a clearly inferior component of their system…their answer? Here's a 20% off coupon off a new $100 replacement LED strip. Give us another $80.
As others have stated it can ruin your guitar when you have to take it off! It will have to be taken off when it starts failing. It is removable with a ton of effort on sealed wood like the neck, but on unsealed wood like a rosewood fingerboard, it will leave a mark. Unfortunately beyond leaving marks it pulled up one of my Mother of pearl inlays on a PRS.

MIDI outputs on 3 strings after 4 hours of adjustment and new strings. Bluetooth connectivity is non-existent. Doesnt work at all. The bridge is something youve never seen before and you get to learn setup and tuning all over again- and it doesnt even work that well. Good luck pulling out a tool to tune your strings. fret wire, from what i can tell the same used on epiphone les paul models made in china. it will work so long as your board's the same width (or narrower) than on an epiphone les paul. if the board's wider, the fret ends may fall a bit too short, but probably still usable. in other words there's no left-over wire to trim away. but the quality of the wire is very good. the tangs are trimmed back, as shown, at each side for binding, but you can use it on an unbound board too, you just won't see the metal tangs at the sides of the board. start from the top fret back. if you mess up a fret you'll have a few frets wide enough left over to do your fret job.deemilieu-6
