I promised myself a Tele, having heard from several pro guitar heros how great they are to play. However, I was always a bit unhappy with the plank-like body style, when compared to the Strat (with its body chamfering which makes the Strat sooo comfortable to play.) So when Fender applied some similar styling to the back of the Tele body for their Elite series, I had to go and see. Wow – what a superb guitar they created. It plays like a dream – the neck feel and action is awesome and it sounds just like a Tele should. There are all the usual trebly spanky sounds + nice mellow tones from the neck pickup too. The new Fender Noiseless pickups are warm when you want them to be and punchy as well. There is a switch in the middle of the volume knob which effectively turns them into a humbucker with a meatier tone. I particularly like the bridge on this guitar – the saddles are smooth chrome finish and your hand can sit comfortably over the bridge when doing finger picking.So, if you thought a Telecaster was a bit of plank with a good neck, think again – the Elite is a real pro guitar worth investing in. The only downside is you won't want to play anything else ever again!
This is an amazing instrument at this price point. Plays like a custom shop piece. Dont be fooled by online sales where all you get is a guitar in a cheap soft case leftover from the last eBay transaction. Or worse, a nothing but a cardboard shipping box. This instrument is better than new because It has just enough living room playing time to validate that everything works as expected. It has Fenders newest compound maple neck with easy access truss rod adjustment at the bottom of the neck. The noiseless pickups sound best through a warmed-up tube amp cranked to just where it starts to breakup and then the tele volume backed off to about 2/3 or less. You will be amazed at the tones you can get through your fingers and the guitar's volume knob. Give the volume knob a twist and you are in a whole new gear. I have a small collection of instruments that include a Stratocaster and Les Paul both with Jescar Super Jumbo fret wire and a Gretsch. The American Elite Telecaster is by far the lightest guitar I own. Take advantage of this opportunity before I tear into it and it becomes one of my favorites.hillte9267
The guitar itself is top notch. Ultimately playable, great neck, great fretboard, action is perfect. Finish is outstanding and looks great under stage lighting. I have the Autumn Blaze Metallic and it is stunning. Locking tuners, strap locks, upgraded saddles, tummy cut, pearloid pick guard are all great upgrades. The case is a nice inclusion with leather strap and hardware. The not so good: pickups. I had high hopes that this new version of the Fender's Noiseless pickups. But as soon as I plugged in to my amps I knew they had to go. Shrill, way too much top end, not a lot of bottom, and not great clarity. I actually hate them. I have a set of Dimarzio Area T's in my other Tele which are a great match for the boutique pickups in my buddy's Whitfill Tele and those sound awesome. Tone-wise, my MIM Tele with the Area T's sounds light years better. Guess what I'm putting in? Kind of a minor blow to the purchase that you'd spend ~$1800 on Fender's new top of the line guitar only to have to replace the pickups in it. Bottom line: great guitar that I will own for a lifetime, but Fender scores a major miss on the pickups.

I have twenty Fenders, including seven telecasters, and this is better than all of them. The neck feels like its been played for years, and the shape is perfect. Heavy rolled edges make it a pleasure to play with my thumb over the neck. First guitar I have bought that I had to raise the action slightly on the top two strings. Set up for fast playing or chords straight out of the case. The colour is sparkly brownish, but looks black in most light. Very well made guitar. The pickups are noiseless and are silent even with pedals. They sound like standard pickups, no loss of signal because of the extra windings for the noise cancellation. Sound fine. I must say, the pro 1 series pickups sound better. All in all a lovely instrument, well worth the extra few quid.STEVEN T.
Overall: I have an Ultra Strat in Cobra Blue, an Ultra Jazz Bass in Texas Tea, a Les Paul Standard Gold Top and other guitars. This has the most beautiful finish (Sunburst). Way better than the picture or videos. The tone is amazing. Light weight at 6.2 pounds. Officially my favorite guitar. Add to that they shipped it to me in 25 hours after promising 5 days. The Fender Ultra Telecaster Texas Tea is an amazing guitar, at first I noticed the D-Shape neck and quickly adapted to it. The neck feels silky smooth, hand glides over frets and is easy to play. The sound from pickups are brutally brilliant, and wit the S1 switch built into the tone knob, sends a slightly different signal, bit more gain with full richness depending on the selector position of course. I went initially seeking for the Jimmy Page Dragon Guitar and walk out of the shop with this Ultra instead, and for the few hundred dollars more, this guitar is totally worth it. The look of it is killer, and so classy – if there is an ultra guitar series in your guitar shop locally, don't hesitate to pick it up and test it out. This guitar is HOT! It's difficult to see in these photos but the colour under certain light angles are different and has small sparkling metallic substances mixed in with the colour. It's a black oily dark grey/brown. The neck has a vintage tone colour and the rosewood neck and skunk stripe just makes this guitar special.Jim T.

I wanted to hate this guitar. Instead it has become the strat that I may be buried with. I have owned/ still own numerous other MIA stratocasters (mostly based on 50’s/60’s models). This guitar is so great because it isn’t any of those things. The noiseless pickups are quiet but they do not require you to sacrifice your tone the way previous generations did. The S1 switching allows for tonal variations that mean you only have to carry one guitar to the gig.

I have played Les Paul style guitars in the past, but recently purchased an entry level strat-style kit for my son. I found myself preferring the tones and playability, but wanted to upgrade to something that will be more reliable for regular use with our church's praise and worship. The Elite-series Stratocaster does not disappoint. The noiseless pick-ups are excellent; they preserve the tone of single coils without the annoying humming. The S1 switch opens up another layer of tones not found on typical strats. The guitar has many little improvements whose sum really set this apart. The guitar needed adjustment to eliminate fret buzz out-of-the-box. I expected a better initial set up. I tweaked it myself with a few minor adjustments. Not a big deal in the overall experience. I love this guitar. Build quality is something else. The neck is so smooth and luxurious. It's how I imagine the skin on kylie minogues thighs to feel. If I ever get to find out I'll amend this review accordingly. With my new tube screamer its A marriage made in heaven. Not one of those ones that just stays together for the sake of the kids but a proper full on job. You might as well buy your golden anniversary cards now and get them in the post. Oh yes! This is an awesome Tele for someone looking to pick up a US Made guitar, at a good price. I also have the US Special Strat (with a Maple fret board), as I was looking to get a wide variety of sounds. While this also has Texas Special Pickups, the two models still manage to be entirely different animals. The neck is fantastic and there are no issues with buzzing frets.The finish is high gloss and really pops. I swapped out the black pick-guard, for a mint green, and the combination of the vintage bridge set-up and head-stock, gives it a great vintage vibe. Every time I go to put this down, I just end up picking it right back up again.D

I got this guitar on September 14th, 2021, and have had some minor issues with it. When I receive this guitar, it was perfect. Not a single case of fret buzz, the nut was perfect, and it was an all around great guitar. However, after about a month. I realized the tuners were a bit out of wack. I would be a bit flat, and turn the tuning peg over and over and over, only to not tighten the string at all. Then when I finally did one last turn, I'd be sharp by a whole note! Whatever, just replace the tuners. I had been putting that off. The next issue was a bit weird. I play really hard, and over time, the bridge pins were starting to get loose, and eventually a whole screw came out, and I had to take the guitar to a tech. I know this is probably user error, but still. I eventually just decided to turn it into a Jonny Greenwood tele, with lace sensors, a kill switch, and all. And let me tell you, this guitar is perfect now. The neck is (and always was) exactly what I was looking for. It's a bit thinner that my Squier Affinity Strat, but I like a thinner neck. Bottom line, I would recommend this guitar if your okay with getting new tuners. No one else I know has had problem with the bridge, so consider that. (P.S. I forgot to say that the stock pickups are amazing! I almost just kept them, they sound really good)Cory
As attested to by all the reviews on the Capri Orange MX Player Tele, it is a great playing guitar in its original factory form. However, I chose this guitar as the platform for Sweetwater to custom mod. In collusion with friend and Sales Engineer Jeff Jent, we determined the component upgrades of choice for the project. The oem wiring harness was replaced with the Emerson 4way switch Tele wiring harness. The additional switch position allows for the pups to play in series. The oem pups were replaced with Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele pups. All this modification under the hood was covered up by a Fender black pearloid moto pickguard. The oem string guide was replaced with the Fender American Standard string guide. The oem control plate and knobs were kept as was the oem bridge with box saddles. I prefer the 6 box saddles bridge to the 3 saddles bridge – just a personal choice. Upon receipt of the Tele, from my personal parts box I installed Fender all short post locking tuners and Fender locking strap buttons. Since the MX Player Tele doesn't come with either a case or gig bag, I had the guitar shipped in a new Fender Elite hard case. I provided Jeff with my preferred set-up specs by the numbers and he forwarded those to the guitar technician for the final modified product set-up. Guitar technician Brandon Harper did exemplary work in putting the mod guitar together and tech supervisor Marty Flaley verified the completed modifications "nailed" by Brandon. If you desire modifications on a new guitar, don't be hesitant to turn the Sweetwater guitar technicians loose on your vision project. The techs know their trade. But in full disclosure, modified guitars are non returnable so be sure of the modifications you desire. The standard Sweetwater warranty is in place though. All of these details can be gone over with your Sales Engineer to be certain, just in case I have misspoken the rules of engagement. Thanks to Brandon for his tech expertise and Marty for the oversight (prior to his promotion, Marty was my tech of choice for set-ups on new guitar purchases). Can't say enough about my excellent relationship with my Sales Engineer Jeff Jent. He knows his gear! If you don't have an assigned Sales Engineer, call Sweetwater and ask for Jeff. This is a really great deal. Unless you get lucky on Reverb or whatever you won't find a deal like this anywhere else. And let's face it–you need a Telecaster! It's as basic as a Stratocaster. Even more so. It's so versatile and has a bright (but not too bright) sound. It's HIGHLY customizable. The shape of the neck is very comfortable for both rhythm and lead play. I'd even go so far as to tell you to make this your kids' (or YOUR) first guitar. For one thing, it's a Fender. The build quality is rock solid. It's really designed to be a lifetime instrument. Cons–really just the shade of the neck itself. It's a little pale. But that's just me. Not only that, but later on you can purchase another Fender neck and just replace it. (It's easy.) Don't let this absolute steal for a real Fender Tele get away from you. You'll thank me.

Overall: This is a great American built Telecaster at its price point. I'm not sure what the other review was downing it so much for. The pick ups are Yoseminee, as advertised, so why the down review on the pick ups? The pick ups are well known for great telecaster sound. The 3 bridge system he called cheap is what was used on the first Telecaster and this model was made to look and sound original. It's NOT a cheap model, it's a good guitar at its price point. I've seen some reviews on it saying it sounds better than the Professional and at it's price point…… how can you complain about the American built Performer. I own a Les Paul classic and this is my second guitar purchased. I wanted to own a Fender as well as a Gibson. I'm happy with it. I now own 2 classic guitars with classic sound.
Love the satin finish and the rosewood fretboard was beautiful once I put enough oil onto it. *really dry. Fretwork was rough at best, my MIMs and Squires were better out of the box. The fret edges caught my hand on both sides plus I could see scratches on the frets 7 – 12, really rough on bends. The action was high, but neck relief was good. I'll change the strings soon and file/roll the fret ends as well as deeply polish the frets. Plays nicely and I can see this becoming one of my top three to pull down from the hanger and play. While the setup was sub-par, the electronics were well done – great pups and pots.Aarron
I have the Honeyburst telecaster, The feel of the set up right out of the box is great!! The neck pickup, nice and warm the bridge is not too hot but hot enough to get the growl when in overdrive. This guitar needs no pickup changes. The middle position still gives the tele sweetness of the twang. The neck feels awesome, It comes with a fender gig bag but I would suggest getting a hSC for the baby shes definitely a keeper. Great guitar!!!spider59504

I have twenty Fenders, including seven telecasters, and this is better than all of them. The neck feels like its been played for years, and the shape is perfect. Heavy rolled edges make it a pleasure to play with my thumb over the neck. First guitar I have bought that I had to raise the action slightly on the top two strings. Set up for fast playing or chords straight out of the case. The colour is sparkly brownish, but looks black in most light. Very well made guitar. The pickups are noiseless and are silent even with pedals. They sound like standard pickups, no loss of signal because of the extra windings for the noise cancellation. Sound fine. I must say, the pro 1 series pickups sound better. All in all a lovely instrument, well worth the extra few quid.STEVEN T.
Overall: I have an Ultra Strat in Cobra Blue, an Ultra Jazz Bass in Texas Tea, a Les Paul Standard Gold Top and other guitars. This has the most beautiful finish (Sunburst). Way better than the picture or videos. The tone is amazing. Light weight at 6.2 pounds. Officially my favorite guitar. Add to that they shipped it to me in 25 hours after promising 5 days. The Fender Ultra Telecaster Texas Tea is an amazing guitar, at first I noticed the D-Shape neck and quickly adapted to it. The neck feels silky smooth, hand glides over frets and is easy to play. The sound from pickups are brutally brilliant, and wit the S1 switch built into the tone knob, sends a slightly different signal, bit more gain with full richness depending on the selector position of course. I went initially seeking for the Jimmy Page Dragon Guitar and walk out of the shop with this Ultra instead, and for the few hundred dollars more, this guitar is totally worth it. The look of it is killer, and so classy – if there is an ultra guitar series in your guitar shop locally, don't hesitate to pick it up and test it out. This guitar is HOT! It's difficult to see in these photos but the colour under certain light angles are different and has small sparkling metallic substances mixed in with the colour. It's a black oily dark grey/brown. The neck has a vintage tone colour and the rosewood neck and skunk stripe just makes this guitar special.Jim T.

This 2018 fender nashville telecaster deluxe was made in mexico. it has a slightly transparent white finish. please inspect the photos closely and note this guitar is largely free of cosmetic flaws. this guitar is in good structural shape and all the electronics are functioning properly. the neck of this guitar has an oval shape and a fast-feeling matte finish. the frets are in perfect shape and the action is low and playable up and down the neck. true to their name, the noiseless pickups are low-noise. they have a chimey, jangly tone. the pickup selector is a 5-way switch and there are master volume and tone controls. the serial number of this guitar is mz18019352 and it comes with a case.

As a Fender guy, I can’t recommend the Nashville Deluxe Tele more. It pairs perfectly with my American Pro Strat with Shawbuckers. Pros -The flat, 12” fretboard radius is very comfortable -The noiseless pups offer signature Fender tone with humbucker level noise -Locking tuners are a great feature to come stock on this model -The block saddles offer an immense amount of sustain -The guitar was ready to play out of the box. I lowered the action a bit to personal preference but it played great from the time I pulled it from the box Ultimately, this feels like a premium Telecaster and wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from this compared to an American model. The tone and playability is on the same level. Kudos to AMS for quick shipping and flexible payment plans. As a gear head, this was surprisingly my first time ordering from this site as I generally order from other dealers out of habit. I’m age 67 and retired. I have played acoustic guitars since age 10 and had absolutely no experience with electric guitars. Got bored over the winter and decided I wanted an electric. Since I’ve become used to good high end guitars I wanted good quality without over spending. Color is a personal thing…I chose the white. It’s very good looking. Back to the important stuff. It took a while but I am enjoying this tele immensely. I got online and looked at basic adjustments and tweaked the action and intonation a little. It’s just simply easy and fun to play and the quality overall is really good. Simply no complaints or regrets. I do play with friends but we are an acoustic group. This tele is just for my personal enjoyment. I chose the Fender Champion 40 amp for a starter and it served it’s purpose well. Since I know I will stick with this guitar I do want to upgrade to a tube amp to bring out more of what this guitar can sound like. Keep in mind that I am new to electrics, but my 5 star rating is based on not just what I’ve mentioned but the exceptional value that I think this guitar is.Barry in Ohio
It is an awesome guitar and I absolutely love some of the premium features like the locking tuners. Pickups sound great. Guitar had a small chip on the nut and was delivered with a broken string and some scuff marks along the bottom of the guitar. I will definitely need to do a setup on the guitar.Chris

Overall: The set-up: This is my second Vintera 50s Modified in the Surf Green. Bought the original run in 2019 (Review "Modified Madness". THRILLED to be able to buy another, as I sold the original (regrettably) last year, and they have been unavailable for the better part of a year since. Received my newest one last week – I was excited to obtain once again the guitar I felt was the perfect all-around Tele; the thicker version of the Soft V was the best neck profile & feel I have ever felt on ANY guitar. However…. much to my dismay, this new run (at least my Vintera) did NOT arrive with that awesome thick Soft V as on my original run. What? Although chunky (a good thing) – NOT the Soft V I fell in love with. Not even close – a chucky "C" all the way. That being said – I was supremely bummed, so much so I requested a return for "not as advertised". Awaiting my return label, and after sitting & stewing over the weekend – with clearer head, I extricated from the box once more. I gave it one final review before committing to the return. I know these Vintera Modifieds may be a thing of the past soon, and I didn't want to take that chance. I decided I could adapt to the big "C", as the balance of these guitars are pretty stellar. I promptly canceled my return arrangement, still mystified that Fender knowingly or unknowingly made this alteration to the neck profile – the biggest selling point to the guitar in my opinion… Just wanted to share that story.
I started playing in the early 1970s, and I'm one of those people who has only played Fender and Gibson electric guitars my entire life. I've always tended to use the benchmark of one Les Paul Custom I bought in 1987 to judge all guitars by, because it was the perfect guitar. I sold it, stupidly, in 1990. Don't let this happen to you. If you ever own a guitar that's perfect for you, hang on to it no matter what. Well, to my great surprise, now I have a new benchmark. I took the chance of buying a guitar online for the first time during the pandemic when I couldn't visit a guitar shop, so I had to do a great deal of research. I started out considering Strats, Les Pauls and Teles, and watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of reviews. I was never much of a Tele player, but I felt drawn to Teles while doing this research. I narrowed it down to a few different Teles and finally settled on this Vintera '60s Modified. It arrived in 4 business days, thanks to the great work of Musician's Friend. I expected to have to set up the guitar upon arrival, but other than raising the bridge pickup height, it was perfectly set up. I still can't believe it, but even the action was set the way I like it. The fretwork was perfect, intonation perfect. I took a chance as I'd never played on a pao ferro fingerboard, but I love it. The pickups and electronics in this guitar are well thought-out and implemented beyond what I even expected based on the videos I'd watched. The tone ranges from an old-school Tele twang, to a Strat tone similar to my Strat with Custom Shop 1969 pups, to a near Humbucker tone. It's that versatile. With this guitar and an acoustic/electric, and a few pedals, you can play an entire gig, whatever's required. I was out of the game for awhile, but this guitar shows me that Fender has upped their game to a new level. I have played a lot of decent Fender products over the years. But this is honestly the first American Stratocaster that I have played in a long time that really hit the mark. Frankly, I have felt a lot of Fender American products in the past couple of decades sounded a little dull. My new American Pro II is bright and chimey and well built. It plays great and sounds great. I feel like this is the first Strat I've played in a lot of years that really sounds like the idealized version of a Strat in my head.frankbooth

I'm not employed by Fender, have many terrific guitars from Gibson, Fender, Martin – most US, some Fender made in Mexico which are nice playing, quality instruments. They all need their tweaks here and there to get to your personal level of playability and satisfaction. As for Telecasters, currently have 3 including this new one in Miami Blue (we'll get to that in a moment) and this is hands down, the absolute best Telecaster I've ever played or owned. It is SO comfortable – out of the case (which is a new style and impressive on its own merit) was flawless. Put a strap on, tuned and felt something odd – nice lightweight alder, it felt different, smaller, more comfortable . . . it's the same size of course but the edges of the body are more rounded than the typical hard flat Tele body I've been familiar with for so long. The neck heel is contoured, the fretboard edges are rolled and fret wire are like butter! Pickups and push button which activates both pickups in series make the tone range so wide. Very impressed to say the least. Now, the Miami blue shown in stock photos here and elsewhere looks much lighter and brighter than in person. The actual color is darker with a greenish tint to it. Either way, the guitar is not going anywhere but would like you to be aware and search for pics on Google until you see or have a grasp of what the range of photos capture. It's not a traditional Fender color but looks fantastic – I know you will not be disappointed.PJ
In my previous review I stated that four saddles kill tone… but I meant six saddles. Four have way better sustain, brightness, and punch… but less adjustable for intonation. Six saddles on the American professional II killed the tone. For that reason the performer sounds way better, plus the push push option just sounds muddy… not worth the added cost except sounds decent for gain on the middle position. The neck on both the professional II and performer are both great it just comes down to personal taste on thickness. I have the performer, a Classic Vibe, and just bought the professional II. Returning the professional II and keeping my others that I think sound quite a bit better for clean playing. But the professional II is very well but and sounds good… just not as good… again probably because of the six saddles…or wimpy sounding pickups… I'm not sure why. But still a very well made guitar… just try them all before buying…Thad
There's no such thing as a perfect guitar and because of that I don't like to give 5 stars in any review but this Telecaster is exceptional. I own 20+ guitars including high end Strats, Les Paul customs, a Lucille and an outstanding USA made vintage Gretsch. I love all those instruments but this Telecaster is something special. It's the most versatile guitar I own. This Telecaster can play as sweet or as nasty twangy as you want. It can do any genre with style. This telecaster is the only instrument I've ever owned that didn't need any adjustment after purchase. It came out of the box in absolutely perfect intonation. There were No sharp fret ends like on cheaper models and the action was perfect. I couldn't find any imperfections anywhere. The neck is smooth as butter, slick and fast, very nice. The V-Mod pickups are outstanding, with all the punch you would ever need. I also like the angle molded heel cut where the neck meets the body. All I did was put on a new set of Fender Bullet 9-42s and she was ready to go. I can't recommend this guitar highly enough if you need or want an exceptional Telecaster. I've played virtually all the other models and brands of the Tele and while some of those were excellent guitars, some were cheaper, some more expensive but none were as good as this version of the Telecaster in my opinion. It's just an outstanding guitar. I'm thinking about buying another one for my son because he won't leave mine alone. You need to play it through a good tube amp to get the most out of it but it still sounds great out of lesser amps like say a Fender Champion 100. I use a tube screamer pedal and a vintage tube Fender Reverb and vintage Gibson tube Dual medalist amps mostly. This Tele still sounds very good even when using some of my digital practice amps. I can't find anything wrong with this guitar. I just wish that I had found it sooner.Dennie

I bought this guitar on sale for about $590, which, let's be clear, is an absolute steal. It's a gorgeous instrument, the electronics are great for the price point, and the craftsmanship is superb except for one small thing… the nut was on backwards. I ordered the instrument online and drove about an hour for curbside pickup where I did my best to check for any obvious damage or crafting issues, but the sale tag was tied around the B & E string so I didn't notice the nut issue until I got home and heard a pronounced buzz on the B string. I took it to a local guitar shop and had the nut replaced with a hand-slotted bone nut for about $40, rather than dealing with a return or exchange at the nearest Guitar Center. In truth, I had been planning to replace the nut with a bone nut anyway so I didn't really care that much. Aside from this pretty glaring error, though, the guitar is just a delight. There was no fret sprout, no sharp frets, and no fret buzz, like I've heard some people mention. The neck was perfectly straight and smooth, electronics were sturdy-feeling and sounded awesome (I expected more hum and a thinner sound from stock pickups). The saddles were also incredibly easy to adjust for intonation and the instrument is just generally comfortable to hold/play. Also, this guitar looks absolutely incredible in Surf Pearl. Moral of the story, if you find this guitar on sale for less than $700, the value is pretty hard to beat. Just make sure you give it a thorough look-see before taking it home or that you're prepared to spend ~$50 extra for some additional work. I've had this beauty for some weeks now. It's been played through a Fender HRD with Private Jack for speaker, a Marshall DSL40 and Vox AC15. Sounds beautiful in all these mediums, including Tube Screamers, Chorus, and Fuzz pedals. I see no need to change the PUs or Tuners. I only changed the strings to Elixer 9s. Neck feels great. Had one fret that was buzzing slightly, but a minor truss adjustment and minor fret filing solved that little issue. NOT FOR NUTHIN, but guitarists should learn how to perform some mechanical adjustments – it feels good fixing some problems on your own. Although I'll steer clear of electrical issues. Anyway, the guitar is beautiful. I've got the blue. It's almost a work of art. If I needed another Tele I would buy this one again. I bought it while it was on sale, but I would have bought it at regular price anyway. If you're on the fence, hop off and pick up one of these. They're worth the investment. This guitar is built extremely well, and is a great platform for modifications. The body has a tummy cut that makes it really comfortable compared to other telecasters. The tuning stability is great, and never seems to go out of tune. When I received the guitar, the action was set too low and the neck was back bowed. After adjusting the truss rod to .010" of relief and raising the action to 4/64" the guitar played like a dream. The one downfall for this guitar is the stock pickups; I ended up swapping mine out with an f spaced Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck. I love this guitar and will never part with it.JP

This guitar as a whole is perfect- the neck is the BEST I've ever played. The body and the matte black – sweet!!!! I have one and I modified it though from a one volume to two independent and a kill switch and different pups – I'm NOT a signature fan. This guitar as a whole is VERY underrated and sure beats out the Meteora when it comes to anything off the cuff. Plus you get a ton of case candy and a GG case black and white fabric. Hence why I will get another . Trust me – you will love this axe !! Who cares if Jim Root put his name to it – he doesn't even play this model. I got my 1st Tele back in 1972 to temporarily replace my injured 335 (Neck break) caused by an overzealous drummer during a gig in Keflavik Iceland (Mark, if you see this , I forgive you). But for reasons long forgot, I never liked.it and soon traded it for a Strat. I never touched another Tele for a long time. Fast forward to 2018 when I got re-introduced to the Tele Elite model while testing out amplifiers at a local music store and was immediately taken it under its spell. The tone, new contoured body shape, compound neck and superb playability made it hard to put down until I was forced to do so leave when the store closed for the night.. I went home and ordered it on line thru MF"s parent company.as they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. . It arrived about 5 days (overseas delivery) and has been my "GO-TO" axe ever since. I've had it now about 1-1/2 years now and my original opinion has not faltered. I agree with all of the 5 star reviewers and opinions which are right on the money. I don't need to carry two or three guitars to gig anymore. I can play almost any genre with it and get all the sounds and tones I need And, importantly to me, its easy on these aging hands and creaking body parts. My only gripe, if you can call it that, is that Fender discontinued the Elite model a few months after I got mine in favor of their new Ultra line. Okay, I get that a company has to continue to provide new and exciting products to keep up with the market trends. I haven't tried the Ultra's yet and can't comment on them. But, I find it hard to believe they could improve upon an almost perfect Tele.. You can still buy the Elites from distributors and can now get some very good deals at very attractive price points. I would buy this model again. For now, my Elite is my top dog in my arsenal.Will J
Overall: Jim Root, showing his love for Fender's classic body shapes, while also creating wonderfully tortuous, turbulent, and high gain guitar tones, have came together in a perfect blend of classic, and modern metal. His take on the Jazzmaster really only takes after its namesake in shape. Switching from alder to mahogany body material, dual, active humbuckers from EMG, the 81/60 combo is capable of earsplitting high gain tones all the way to creamy leads and even clear, sultry cleans. With only one volume knob, this Jazzmaster is ready to rip, and most definetley is NOT your grandpa's Jazzmaster. The satin black finish evokes mean, evil looks, with the blank fretboard finishing the clean, stripped down look. This axe took the JM body style and brought it to modern metal in a big way. 25.5 inch scale allows for lower tuning, to bring those growling, booming riffs to life without the "string flap" you can get with shorter scales, and the active EMGs provide clear, articulate riffing in high gain situations. If you're after a classic look, while melting the faces off of the folks who are within earshot, then this awesome signature series is everything you have dreamed of. With locking Fender tuners on an oversized 70s headstock , tuning is stable and steadfast when smashing on those aggressive , ripping metal riffs. 10 out of 10 in my opinion, rapidly becoming my go to workhorse guitar, because this thing has everything a modern metal player could ever want.Mikey

I already own an Am Std Strat and Tele and a G&L Tele all single coil. I wanted to try a humbucker sound and being loyal to Fender, I purchased this guitar. The high quality feel, looks and sound of this guitar were immediately apparent. The sound has a distinct "bite" which is perfect for certain uses with the typical humbucker "growl". The Pearly Gates can get dirty, clean and somewhere in between depending on my settings. Though not made in America, this guitar is not "cheap", corners were not cut. Rock, blues, jazz all sound great. I use to be an "American Made", single coils only snob, but this purchase changed my opinions.GM
Overall: This guitar is a real surprise. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. It's comfortable to play and the weight is fine even for long gigs. The neck is very comfortable to play and easy to get to the high notes. You can do most any style of music with it. I use it with Fender, Marshall and Boss Katana Amps and it complements them all like they were made for each other. I definitely recommend this guitar to anyone wanting to have a Tele sound and Les Paul style sound all in one great guitar. You get the best of both worlds without paying a fortune for it. I have a Peavey (Steve)Cropper Classic guitar as my daily driver, now sadly discontinued. This Fender HHFMT is perfect as a replacement. It is very light. It looks great. The pickups are powerful and very smooth. It sounds like a tele, it punches shred like my 1960 model, LP Classic. I always wanted the Fender Robben Ford guitar to get that “Talk To Your Daughter” tone which this guitar delivers on brilliantly. It covers the Stevie Ray Vaughn sound and feel, I also think it could handle a set of 12 gauge strings without dropping tuning as the action and play-ability is excellent right out of the box. Overall: Always wanted a Nashville Tele but several things were stopping me from buying it. I could have made some mods myself but that kind of defeats the purpose of a new guitar. No bridge + neck pickup option was a biggie.No locking tuners. All my guitars have locking tuners. 3 saddles instead of 6 individual. I just prefer the 6 even for a Tele.No noiseless pickups. Now they've also done a couple of things I wasn't necessarily looking for but are nice addition. The rolled fingerboard edges are a really nice touch as well as the belly cut. Again, not expected but very nice additions especially since I can roll my own fingerboards but have never attempted my own belly cut on a Tele and probably wouldn't but they are really nice on my G&L's. For the not so great stuff. The neck had entirely too much relief in it but this was rectified with a truss rod adjustment. I did have to do a fret level, crown and polish. The guitar also had a bit of fret sprout and some sharp ends. I easily fixed these issues but would understand others might have to take it to their local tech for a fret job. After a little work on my part the guitar plays wonderfully. The neck is really comfortable. This is every bit as good a guitar as the US produced Fender's I have played recently. The sounds are exactly what you would and should expect from a Nashville Tele. Overall, this is a very well made guitar. Played 4 gigs with it over the New Year break and I gotta say, this is probably going to be right there onstage with my EBMM's. No, it's not as good as my Cutlass and LIII's but it doesn't need to be. I think this guitar is a great bargain and I'm pretty picky. Fender finally got the Nashville Tele right. It's really nice to see.Richie
What a absolutely beautiful instrument. I got mine surf green and the online pictures don't do it justice. Guitar arrived flawless and played great out of the box. Action seemed a little higher than I like, but still plays great with the vintage frets to my surprise. Definitely has that telecaster sound with very nice cleans and twang. Also hitting it with a tube screamer or distortion pedal it has a snarl. Playing through a PRRI, 78 SFDR and 67 Vibro Champ. The C shaped neck does seem slightly beefier than other C shapes on my AVRI strats, but I find it just as comfortable and a nice difference. Clay inlays look really good on the rosewood neck also. There is also a tint to the neck that's more than what was on the previous line of AVRI guitars but I think it looks good.Don
This telecaster is legendary. First, the noiseless pickups immediately distinguish this tele from others and result in ZERO hum and stays that way on all pickups. Second, the C-shape fretboard design makes for effortless phrasing. Third, this guitar is impressively light (much more so than my strat) and is therefore my go-to guitar for gigging. And I should add the unique color configuration makes this tele stand out from the rest. Apparently "Aged Candle Apple Red" is Fender's own thing. Finally, I should note that I run this guitar through my Marshall DSL40CR. The combination makes for great depth and a fullness that rivals my strat — including on clean tones. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a compliment to their rig (particularly if you have a strat and want to expand the universe of sounds).Chad the Bad

I bought this guitar on sale for about $590, which, let's be clear, is an absolute steal. It's a gorgeous instrument, the electronics are great for the price point, and the craftsmanship is superb except for one small thing… the nut was on backwards. I ordered the instrument online and drove about an hour for curbside pickup where I did my best to check for any obvious damage or crafting issues, but the sale tag was tied around the B & E string so I didn't notice the nut issue until I got home and heard a pronounced buzz on the B string. I took it to a local guitar shop and had the nut replaced with a hand-slotted bone nut for about $40, rather than dealing with a return or exchange at the nearest Guitar Center. In truth, I had been planning to replace the nut with a bone nut anyway so I didn't really care that much. Aside from this pretty glaring error, though, the guitar is just a delight. There was no fret sprout, no sharp frets, and no fret buzz, like I've heard some people mention. The neck was perfectly straight and smooth, electronics were sturdy-feeling and sounded awesome (I expected more hum and a thinner sound from stock pickups). The saddles were also incredibly easy to adjust for intonation and the instrument is just generally comfortable to hold/play. Also, this guitar looks absolutely incredible in Surf Pearl. Moral of the story, if you find this guitar on sale for less than $700, the value is pretty hard to beat. Just make sure you give it a thorough look-see before taking it home or that you're prepared to spend ~$50 extra for some additional work. I've had this beauty for some weeks now. It's been played through a Fender HRD with Private Jack for speaker, a Marshall DSL40 and Vox AC15. Sounds beautiful in all these mediums, including Tube Screamers, Chorus, and Fuzz pedals. I see no need to change the PUs or Tuners. I only changed the strings to Elixer 9s. Neck feels great. Had one fret that was buzzing slightly, but a minor truss adjustment and minor fret filing solved that little issue. NOT FOR NUTHIN, but guitarists should learn how to perform some mechanical adjustments – it feels good fixing some problems on your own. Although I'll steer clear of electrical issues. Anyway, the guitar is beautiful. I've got the blue. It's almost a work of art. If I needed another Tele I would buy this one again. I bought it while it was on sale, but I would have bought it at regular price anyway. If you're on the fence, hop off and pick up one of these. They're worth the investment. This guitar is built extremely well, and is a great platform for modifications. The body has a tummy cut that makes it really comfortable compared to other telecasters. The tuning stability is great, and never seems to go out of tune. When I received the guitar, the action was set too low and the neck was back bowed. After adjusting the truss rod to .010" of relief and raising the action to 4/64" the guitar played like a dream. The one downfall for this guitar is the stock pickups; I ended up swapping mine out with an f spaced Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck. I love this guitar and will never part with it.JP

I love the LPB bodies, but I've discovered that my Fender standard LPB body is a 4 piece alder. Perhaps Fender decides to hide 4 piece bodies with their hottest-selling colors, while leaving the preferred 2 piece tone beauties to the translucent finishes. The MIM pickups sometimes are thin-sounding. If you've ever watched a video of construction of the MIM Fenders, you'll see that speed is their number one goal. Still, these are generally a lot of guitar for the money.banjophoto
As I said before, this is my first lefty but I have been playing right handed for 29 years so I know a great guitar when I play one and this is a great guitar after I did a "set up" on it. You might not feel you need one, just go over it with a screwdriver and make sure everything is tight, as the quality control department is lacking but the guitar itself is great. I have never played an American Standard Tele so I can't compare them. If you don't have a lot of money but want the best built guitar for your money look no more, this is it. The maple neck is only gloss finish on the front and satin on the back, it has excellent fretwork. The pickups are actually pretty good with a three position switch. I was suprised to find the pickups are not noise cancelling in the middle position. The bridge is a string-thru body type and is very solid. The body has a really nice finish on it, mine is Lake Placid Blue and is a very deep metallic finish. It is a very basic guitar but built very solid. If you need a very basic guitar that is built very well, very solid and stays in tune then this is it. It is beautiful and built like a tank, the fretwork is excellent with no dead spots, the pickups sound really great so I won't be upgrading them soon. I had to go over the guitar with a screwdriver and tighten some screws, the neck bolts were loose letting the neck move around but that is poor quality control to blame, I can't fault the guitar for that. Once you go over it and make sure every thing is tight this is an awesome guitar. I've been playing for 29 years right handed but recently had hand surgery on my left/fretting hand and can no longer play right handed, so I am learning to play left handed and this is my first lefty. I wanted the best built guitar that I could afford that is basic in features, great tone, string-thru body for tuning stability, very solid quality and this is it. This is a very well built guitar for the price, not a lot of features, nothing fancy but it is high quality. I don't think you can buy a better guitar for this price, maybe more features but not this quality. You might need to have it "set up" if you don't know how to do it yourself, as my action at the nut was a little high, but I have nut files and was able to file down the nut slots myself and now it plays like a dream.Josh-xld-z

I love the fact that my Guitar came already set up and no need to do any intonation or lowering action, i LOVE THAT! I have twenty Fenders, including seven telecasters, and this is better than all of them. The neck feels like its been played for years, and the shape is perfect. Heavy rolled edges make it a pleasure to play with my thumb over the neck. First guitar I have bought that I had to raise the action slightly on the top two strings. Set up for fast playing or chords straight out of the case. The colour is sparkly brownish, but looks black in most light. Very well made guitar. The pickups are noiseless and are silent even with pedals. They sound like standard pickups, no loss of signal because of the extra windings for the noise cancellation. Sound fine. I must say, the pro 1 series pickups sound better. All in all a lovely instrument, well worth the extra few quid.STEVEN T.
Overall: I have an Ultra Strat in Cobra Blue, an Ultra Jazz Bass in Texas Tea, a Les Paul Standard Gold Top and other guitars. This has the most beautiful finish (Sunburst). Way better than the picture or videos. The tone is amazing. Light weight at 6.2 pounds. Officially my favorite guitar. Add to that they shipped it to me in 25 hours after promising 5 days. The Fender Ultra Telecaster Texas Tea is an amazing guitar, at first I noticed the D-Shape neck and quickly adapted to it. The neck feels silky smooth, hand glides over frets and is easy to play. The sound from pickups are brutally brilliant, and wit the S1 switch built into the tone knob, sends a slightly different signal, bit more gain with full richness depending on the selector position of course. I went initially seeking for the Jimmy Page Dragon Guitar and walk out of the shop with this Ultra instead, and for the few hundred dollars more, this guitar is totally worth it. The look of it is killer, and so classy – if there is an ultra guitar series in your guitar shop locally, don't hesitate to pick it up and test it out. This guitar is HOT! It's difficult to see in these photos but the colour under certain light angles are different and has small sparkling metallic substances mixed in with the colour. It's a black oily dark grey/brown. The neck has a vintage tone colour and the rosewood neck and skunk stripe just makes this guitar special.Jim T.

I'm not employed by Fender, have many terrific guitars from Gibson, Fender, Martin – most US, some Fender made in Mexico which are nice playing, quality instruments. They all need their tweaks here and there to get to your personal level of playability and satisfaction. As for Telecasters, currently have 3 including this new one in Miami Blue (we'll get to that in a moment) and this is hands down, the absolute best Telecaster I've ever played or owned. It is SO comfortable – out of the case (which is a new style and impressive on its own merit) was flawless. Put a strap on, tuned and felt something odd – nice lightweight alder, it felt different, smaller, more comfortable . . . it's the same size of course but the edges of the body are more rounded than the typical hard flat Tele body I've been familiar with for so long. The neck heel is contoured, the fretboard edges are rolled and fret wire are like butter! Pickups and push button which activates both pickups in series make the tone range so wide. Very impressed to say the least. Now, the Miami blue shown in stock photos here and elsewhere looks much lighter and brighter than in person. The actual color is darker with a greenish tint to it. Either way, the guitar is not going anywhere but would like you to be aware and search for pics on Google until you see or have a grasp of what the range of photos capture. It's not a traditional Fender color but looks fantastic – I know you will not be disappointed.PJ
In my previous review I stated that four saddles kill tone… but I meant six saddles. Four have way better sustain, brightness, and punch… but less adjustable for intonation. Six saddles on the American professional II killed the tone. For that reason the performer sounds way better, plus the push push option just sounds muddy… not worth the added cost except sounds decent for gain on the middle position. The neck on both the professional II and performer are both great it just comes down to personal taste on thickness. I have the performer, a Classic Vibe, and just bought the professional II. Returning the professional II and keeping my others that I think sound quite a bit better for clean playing. But the professional II is very well but and sounds good… just not as good… again probably because of the six saddles…or wimpy sounding pickups… I'm not sure why. But still a very well made guitar… just try them all before buying…Thad
There's no such thing as a perfect guitar and because of that I don't like to give 5 stars in any review but this Telecaster is exceptional. I own 20+ guitars including high end Strats, Les Paul customs, a Lucille and an outstanding USA made vintage Gretsch. I love all those instruments but this Telecaster is something special. It's the most versatile guitar I own. This Telecaster can play as sweet or as nasty twangy as you want. It can do any genre with style. This telecaster is the only instrument I've ever owned that didn't need any adjustment after purchase. It came out of the box in absolutely perfect intonation. There were No sharp fret ends like on cheaper models and the action was perfect. I couldn't find any imperfections anywhere. The neck is smooth as butter, slick and fast, very nice. The V-Mod pickups are outstanding, with all the punch you would ever need. I also like the angle molded heel cut where the neck meets the body. All I did was put on a new set of Fender Bullet 9-42s and she was ready to go. I can't recommend this guitar highly enough if you need or want an exceptional Telecaster. I've played virtually all the other models and brands of the Tele and while some of those were excellent guitars, some were cheaper, some more expensive but none were as good as this version of the Telecaster in my opinion. It's just an outstanding guitar. I'm thinking about buying another one for my son because he won't leave mine alone. You need to play it through a good tube amp to get the most out of it but it still sounds great out of lesser amps like say a Fender Champion 100. I use a tube screamer pedal and a vintage tube Fender Reverb and vintage Gibson tube Dual medalist amps mostly. This Tele still sounds very good even when using some of my digital practice amps. I can't find anything wrong with this guitar. I just wish that I had found it sooner.Dennie
