Reviews:
Having put my guitar and equipment down in my early twenties as time was never available for practice and neither could I emulate my heroes I just stopped playing altogether. But now, with time on my hands due to Covid induced short working time, I decided to get a guitar and rig and start afresh but as a personal thing with no intention of joining or forming a band. The guitar was a simple choice as my earlier guitar was an LP but what kind of combo amp as I had previously run an orange head and cab and back in my day no miracles of the digital age. So it had to be something in the value for money stakes but also having sufficient clout and effects so that I wasn’t left regretting my purchase so set about researching on the net and looking at useful videos which PMT excel at, as well as looking at YouTube – and plumped for the black star iD Core and buying it from PMT the purchase included the additional pedal block to make the using of this amp a doddle! Firstly, the sound is sublime at lowest and highest of volume settings, remaking distortion free in the clean settings. The stereo effects are truly fantastic when used in the confines of my back bedroom and even now, many months later, I am still exploring all the different effects and sounds that this little amp contains and enjoying learning to play all over again. And whilst I am not going to be gigging, I am pretty sure that the robust build quality would put up easily with life on the road! Highly recommended, just remember the neighbours might not be too appreciative though🥴John G.
In my lengthy quest to find a decent modeling amp on a budget, Blackstar was recommended time and again for excellent modern metal sounds. I had this amp for 3 days before I returned it. I play 7 and 8-string guitars, usually downtuned. I was surprised at how little bass response there was on this amp. I tried everything to get a full sound from this amp, to no avail. On any setting, at any volume (even at 0), the speakers hiss very loudly. For a 100 watt stereo amp, the ID:Core seemed very quiet. I tried for days to download and install the INSIDER software that "unlocks" the "hidden" features of the amp. I received no tech support from Blackstar until I had already returned the amp. The software requires a lot of crazy permissions (on Mac) to install. Once it was open, it was very unintuitive to use. I will say this: the stereo field and effects did sound amazing. They filled my practice room very well. Also, the looper with infinite overdubs worked very well and was fun to play with. I also appreciated that there was an effects loop so I could still use my delay pedal. Overall, this amp wasn't for me. I ended up going with the Fender Mustang GT100, which is exactly what I was looking for (and more) and worth every penny.Keith
I’ve owned a nice Marshall amp. And a Fender Champion, too. Both very good. But I finally found the sound I like with the Blackstar ID Core. 100 is fine for me and I played a good sized pub (150 or so in audience) with it. Perfect. Master volume on 6 or 7. There’s a loop pedal I look forward to to trying out, but for me the quality of sound (including reverb and delay effects) is stellar. Very happy customer.James N.

Reviews:
Was looking for a small light weight amp whilst away from home, not wanting to lug around my heavy tube amp, cab and good sized pedal board. This amp fit's the bill perfectly. This amp sounds great, the onboard effects sound good to my ear. And I also like the controls on this amp. Simple layout that makes it easy and fast to dial in a decent sound. If you need more flexibility the architect software, which is a free download from Blackstar, is straight forward to use giving you even more flexibility. Another thing I like about this amp is as I'm away I often need to us headphones, no to disturb the neighbours, through the architect software, you can change the cab simulation from 112, 212, 412, even choose what mic simulation is used, which I think it's an excellent addition to this already impressive small amp. This amp also sounds great through its built-in speakers, giving it a great stereo sound. For this price I honestly cannot fault it, I did look at other amps but settled for this. And I'm so glad I did. This amp is a bargain!!Lesley C.
I hate amp hunting. I wanted something small and specific for a home studio. Shiny cleans with some grit too? Quality build? Under $600? I searched the used listings for weeks trying to find a deal. Nothing really GETS me. Finally, utterly sick of shopping, I walked into Sam Ash, saw this thing on the shelf and just bought it. Didnt try it. Just read the specs online, read a few reviews and snagged it. I figure, worst case scenario I'll return it tomorrow. Let me say, the sound from this amp is just so incredibly nice. Even without pedals, the built in reverb sounds very good. Not splashy, more like a plate reverb. Adding a transparent overdrive makes my G&L ASAT sound like a tone monster. I have no specific affinity for Blackstar. Never owned a single one of their products and I am totally blown away by this thing. I don't know a thing about the tonal waveforms and harmonic frequencies of the most expensive boutique amps but, on a stage or studio I'd put this amp up to pretty much anything. It FEELS good. It sounds good. Between my guitar and an overdrive pedal and the tone knob on the amp itself, I'm able to pull at least 6 very distinct tones before I even engage the dirty channel. It's even got an effects loop. Get one! You'll like it!DANIEL
I bought this amp a few months ago after LOTS of research, having finally decided to replace my previous amp of about 20 years! (A Marshall AVT half stack) Firstly, it looks amazing IMO and build quality looks and feels great too. I play in two bands, one playing southern rock, the other heavy rock/classic metal so needed something that was going to cover a pretty wide range of sounds. The Blackstar handles it amazingly! Wonderful warm crunches all the way to chugalicious highly saturated metal gains. The high gains are so smooth and creamy too and not 'scratchy'. (Something I always struggled with with the AVT) The clarity is also pretty amazing at high gain too. Individual notes can be picked out clearly and not just lost in a fuzzy mush. The 2 OD channels work perfectly for the two separate sounds I'm looking for to suit each band, with Voicing on each channel giving even more versatility. This amp produces beautiful cleans too, which can also break up nicely if you push the clean channel volume up. I'd also really recommend the optional 5-way footswitch, shame this doesn't come as standard, but hey..! All in all, I'm absolutely over the moon with this amp. It can do everything from sparkling cleans to tasty crunch and up to all the gain you could wish for. I've even been able to get THAT Stevie Ray Vaughan tone! 😍 But not only that, it's not some 'Jack of all trades, master of none'…it absolutley nails all of these brilliantly! This amp delivers the sound I've been looking for elusively for years now, funny that Blackstar's slogan is "The Sound In Your Head"… Big thanks to the team at PMT Newcastle when testing the 40 Watt version, and the distribution team for the speedy next day delivery!Davey S.

I bought this for a practice amp to have in my bedroom so when I feel like getting in some practice time it's always at the ready. (I have a vintage Marshall stack out in my rehearsal studio, but who wants to burn tubes and gobs of electricity for practicing.) For this purpose it's a great little amp. My only tiny complaint is that if you're hoping this is going to sound close to an actual tube amp, you're going to be disappointed. I wasn't because I didn't expect it to. I think even the models in my old PODxt sound better, frankly. Now, that said, it's good enough and with the true stereo sound and nice effects you'll still feel inspired. For example, nearly 3 hours ago I was going to go to sleep. Then I felt guilty because I hadn't really done much playing today, so I told myself that I'd just do about 15 minutes of practice and then crash out. I fired up this amp to my favorite lead/shred preset with some stereo delay and started playing. I JUST NOW STOPPED!! Even with the less-than-convincing tube modeling, this amp still manages to make practicing fun! I got it on a Stupid Deal sale and it was worth every penny!! 🤘🏻James, the Dean Guy!
I needed a small combo amp to keep bedside in my bedroom for night time playing – I have a thinline acoustic that was lacking a little in projection and bass, so I began a search for a quality affordable amp. What really appealed to me the most about this amp was the stereo speakers, and it had really good reviews. On sale I figured I couldn't miss – I was more than pleasantly surprised. This little amp took my average six string acoustic from a decent sounding guitar to a beautifully resonant, booming and crystal clear chiming guitar. The stereo set up even makes the output of the amp sound and feel like it's coming directly from my guitar sound hole. It took a few minutes for me to figure out the "Manual" and pre-set tone/effect/drive options, but it went quickly. I easily dialed in a great sounding ZZ Top-style fuzz, and really dreamy combination of modulation, delay and reverb. Speaking of the effects, these are the best sounding built-in amp effects I've ever experienced. On top of the massive stereo sound and great effects, I just love how this amp looks. I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything made by Blackstar.Carl
Rarely do I write reviews on Musicians Friend but feel compelled to do one on this amp. I have quite a few amps from a dual stack Jet City, Vox, Mesa/Boogie and others. I just wanted to a small amp to practice on and to not lug around my bigger amps to church. The cleans on this amp are drop dead gorgeous. The crunch is really, really good. You can also manually make your own settings and save them. I don't know how Blackstar did it in getting such good sounds out of such a small package. I purchased mine here via Stupid Deal of the Day so I got mine as a real steal. If you want an amp that can be mic'd up to or just play in your bedroom, go for it! Seriously, you won't be sad you did. No one paid me for this review. I don't work for Musicians Friend or any music retailer.TonyN

I'm a gigging musician, I wanted something inexpensive to keep at our "country" homesite, to work with and practice with on holiday. I usually run through Vox amps, ( though I can get satisfactory tones from Peavey) The Palamino version was on sale so I rolled the dice. It has very good tone, far removed from sterile SS tone. Responds well to volume adjustments and pick attack. The on board effects are fun, and, with the right tweaking. I can get a steel pan drum soundSteven
Amazing little amp with countless settings. The guys at the store have been extremely helpful with it as wellRobert C.

Reviews:
I bought this amp for one reason: Practicing in the bedroom without pissing off my wife or waking the kids. This amp is slightly larger than a shoe box and very light weight. This amp sounds unbelievable for it's size and low cost. The clean sounds are great and the overdrive channels are surprisingly full with enough low end to satisfy most players. The effects are basic without great flexibility but enough to make it worthwhile. The stereo sounds of this little 2 X 5 is simply fantastic. Every time I use it for practice I still can't believe how good this things sounds for an amp in it's price range. My first amp I bought 30 years ago cost the same amount and sounded like garbage. Most amps will start to sound thin or lose their tone quality at low levels but this amp doesn't do that. It sounds good at whisper quiet all the way up to much louder volumes. If you buy this amp to gig with I would guess you will be disappointed. Footswitch option is not available on this model but the next size up does allow you to use one. That was not an issue for me since I was trying to keep to a small package. MF even threw in the Gold Coverage for two years at no extra charge so this is guaranteed for two years as well, all for under one C note! Simply put, when you keep it all in perspective with the cost, sound quality, ease of use and size of the amp, it is a winner!
This is so much more than just a great amp with a few built in effects. Installing the free blackstar insider software, and plugging the amp into your pc with a usb cable, lets you download hundreds of other preset voices (tones) that you can then assign to the 6 voice slots the amp and then you can play and it sounds like your favourite bands without having to buy extra effects pedals. Some of the downloaded voices, particularly the heavier ones, need to be played on a guitar with active pickups, as there is a lot of squealing feedback when played with passive pickups. The blackstar insider software has a backing tracks feature and if you download some backing tracks, its like playing with your favourite bands. The tracks can be slowed down – which is great for when you are learning them. The unexpected bonus is that the amp can be set as a windows playback device, and playing mp3s through it sounds like being at a concert.stowe39
I traded in my Marshall Valvestate 12AX7 because I can't play it loud enough to saturate the tubes to take full advantage of them without my wife divorcing me and I always like to have a backup amp. My main amp is an Acoustic Lead Series G20. I bought the Blackstar on name recognition alone. Bad move. Now I didn't download any patches for it, but out of the six pre-installed settings, it's awful. Can not get a warm tone out of any of them. Very nasal sounding and just a very processed and weak tone. I took it back to GC and got an Acoustic Lead Series G10 and a used Dunlop Cry Baby. The Acoustic's don't have all the bells and whistles, but a much warmer and fuller sounding tone. The G20 even sounded better than my Marshall and you can play small gigs with the G20. Save yourself some money and get either the Acoustic Lead Series G20 or G10. The G20 is an awesome practice amp that you could record or play small gigs with and the G10 is a solid and great sounding practice amp.Michael

Reviews:
Great little practice amp for acoustic electric and bass. Pleasing sound and versatile. Only missing a built in tuner.
The Blackstar ID Core BEAM amp is a very versatile amp indeed. The electric, acoustic and bass guitar all sound very descent through the amp. It's a great practice amp, and the tone is actually quite good for such a small amp. The other cool feature is that it doubles as a bluetooth speaker. But the downside is that it is quite loud even on the lowest setting.

I was excited to receive this, but very disappointed when I opened it only to find the batteries corroded. I jumped on the chat to request a replacement be shipped out. I had to return the defective one and wait until they received it in order to get a refund and purchase a new one. I will not purchase a new one. So disappointing.Michael
I purchased this as a Christmas gift and received it a few days later. I put it in storage under my bed. I read the reviews and seen that people made mention that it was shipped with batteries and they were corroded. So I opened up the package and was blasted with the smell of battery acid. Yup sure enough all 6 batteries were corroded. So I contacted the company and they told me it was on back order. But they could replace it with a similar item. However the similar item was not on sale. So it was basically twice the money. I said ok just send me another one when you get it. They said ok, how would you like to pay for it. I said I am sending the other one back and the other one is on back order until 12/22. They said I had to pay for the replacement, and wait to get a credit on my return. Also I lost my points because they were used on the first order. Very poor policy's.Kevin

I have never offered a product review for any product but I had to make an exception for this one. I am 69 years old, have been playing music for over 50 years, and I have just begun learning the harmonica. This amp is perfect for me for a number of reasons. First of all, it's portable. I can take it anywhere – from my living room – to that picnic table at the park – to my guitar player's front porch. I've had it for a while and I'm still on the batteries that came with it. (You can get an optional power supply for it if you want.) Second – it sounds great and has plenty of volume for personal practice and for use in small settings. With the GAIN and VOLUME controls, you can easily get the response you want. The EQ control only makes a subtle difference in frequency response but nothing dramatic. The DELAY function, however, is very effective and fun to use. Next – a variety of additional input and output jacks make it very flexible. I can plug in my MP3 player and play along with a backing track, for example. It also has a headphone jack, an extension speaker jack, and a DC power jack. Finally – and most importantly – It's fun to use and, because of that, I find myself practicing longer and enjoying it more. I'm new at holding a mic and at first it felt awkward. Now, because the FLY 3W is so much fun to use, holding the mic has become second nature. OK – now you're waiting for the downside. Well, other than the EQ control comments I made earlier, I don't have any. At first, I thought it could benefit from a handle but, upon closer inspection, I discovered the recessed finger grip on the top of the case. (Very clever Blackstar.) This is a well designed portable practice amp. (It even looks aesthetically pleasing.)Bill
First things first; this combo pack DOES include the power supply but batteries are NOT included in the combo pack. Despite the great reviews, don't expect this to sound like a full-size amp; the small speaker mean this amp lacks low end. The pair does sound OK playing in stereo music through the aux input; good detail and sound quality except for the missing bass. As a practice amp, especially through headphones, this thing rocks; with the ISF control you can make it sound like a Fender or a Marshall Amp. Cleans are good but the high gain channel can sound a bit messy if you crank it to 11. The amplifier is more than loud enough for home practice even without doubling the power to 6 watts by adding the second speaker. I don't own a full-size electric amp but I've found out that running the cab-simulated headphone output into my acoustic amp's aux input gives an excellent equivalent so I probably won't bother with a 'real' electric guitar amp; this setup sounds sooo good.Dave W
I was very pleasantly surprised and the range of EQ and the control of compression the Fly 3Bass gives me, not only a great practice amp but mic it up through a PA and it sounds amazing. Great running on batteries (last about 12 hours) or mains. I did a back garden set with couple of friends on acoustic guitars me on electric bass via Fly 3 and it sounded really good so i am very pleased with my purchase. Only thing i had to do was back off tone and bass enhancer on my active bass as it slightly overpowered the amp but i get that on my stage rig as well so expected that.Barry J.

I've been a professional acoustic soloist for 12 years and the Blackstar Sonnet 120 is the perfect amp for small to medium size gigs. The external footswitch is necessary for the mute function but well worth it. The speaker stand adapter, along with the unusually high headroom, makes placing the amp extremely easy, even in a small space. The bass response is amazing. Very strong low end without the 'hum inducing boom'. When you dial in your sound on the Sonnet, you can clearly hear the effect of each knob. In other words, each knob does it's job obviously yet evenly. The guitar sound thru the Sonnet is more natural than any other amp I've tried. (I've been using the Fishman Artist and Performer for the past 4 years. Very, very good amplifiers.) The vocals come thru the Blackstar Sonnet 120 with clarity and the overall sound of the amp carries very well. If a 180-watt version comes out, I'd buy that one in a heartbeat. Blackstar products are among the absolute best on the market.Jay
Great but if kit, bought for my daughter and the quality is much better than her old speaker ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Matt B.
15. Orange Rocker 32 – 30-Watt 2×10" Stereo Tube Combo – Black
Product Details:
This stereo (!) amp features two footswitchable channels (no footswitch is included), clean and drive, and sports two 10-inch voice of the world speakers. works in mono, stereo, and even able to do wet/dry set up all in one portable amp. high quailty, rugged black covering, woven cane grill cloth. the grill cloth is slightly concave as you might be able to see at the right speaker area in the photo. this apparently is not uncommon with these amps because of the woven cane material but this doesn't affect the performance whatsover, the speakers are fine and the amp is like new otherwise. power scaling from 30 (15×15) to 15 (7.5×7.5) watts has plenty of power supplying oodles of volume. it sounds great, works like new, of course. built to last! fantastic combo no matter what style of music you play, also features effects loop.

I had been looking at a new tube amp and had a couple different amps in mind. My local GC is rather small but on a recent trip to the Chicago area I stumbled across one of these in the wild. I played it for about 15 minutes and new I had to buy it. It sounds incredible. I really like how simple the clean channel is with just a volume control, but allows the true sound of the guitar to shine through. It loves single coils and has really nice breakup at higher volumes. The dirty channels exactly that but you can get everything from creamy overdrive to crunchy distortion. Even at the lower watt settings you have plenty of headroom. I'm a big fan of the twin 10in speakers and the tube buffered effects loop is a great addition. My only wish is that it would come with a foot pedal. Regardless, I could not be happier with this amp.Evan P
Using this amp primarily with a PRS McCarty 594 and it continues to amaze me more the longer I own with it… the natural channel is clear, bright and balanced. I can easily dial the overdrive to the distortion needed to cover Deep Purple, AC/DC stuff and dial it down for classic softer stuff like Allman Bros and. Fleetwood Mac. Haven't even begun to see everything that could be done with the effects loop… wah and delay pedals sound fantastic… very full with the double voice of the world stereo speakers. Both channels are plenty loud for gigging in smaller venues… even with drums. Effects loop in/out could be more accessible as they are tucked up inside the back… just a minor issue though. This amp is beefy, feels like it could take a beating . Weight is not bad considering it's a combo and I haven't had any trouble carrying it up and down stairs when I take it out. Very happy with this amp…. I feel like it's one of the best combos out there right now.John
Just picked this up new. I was swapping back an evh 5150 head and prs stealth 212 cab (god that thing was sweet), because it didn't take my helix line 6 very well in the 4 cable method. I was trying out a mesa solo rectifier 112 combo, a vox AC 30 and this amp. The cleans of an AC30 are my favorite of the three, and the mesa certainly had more chunk on the distortion channel than the other two (although that evh through the prs cab was simply another world better than any of these three amps). The rocker 32 however had a pretty nice clean sound, if inflexible (no tone control at all), and about as much drive as an or15(one of my favorite amps). You can get some serviceable metal tones, although I'm sure a speaker upgrade might do wonders for the tone of the amp. It's just extremely versatile and flexible, I prefer to get my gain from my amp, then maybe throw an 808 in front of the amp, I'm not a huge fan of distortion pedals. NOW onto why this amp was such a must have. This amp will make your effects sound studio quality. No more worrying about mixing in your effects loop or a dropoff in volume. Your delays will sound utterly pristine, without and kinda gunk added on in the fx loop. it will simply bring your effects to life, and the stereo effect really can add quite element to your live playing. The speakers need to be upgraded, but at a pricepoint of 1100, they had to cut corners somewhere on a 30 watt 2×10 amp. This might not be your go to amp for tone when recording, or an absolute thumper for live metal shows, but if you're an effect junkie, this is a loud enough, versatile enough amp that is a must have for you. Absolute perfect combo for my line 6 helixMatt

Reviews:
After 40 years as a guitar player, I just started to learn the Bass guitar. I love it. I needed a small amp to practice with during times I needed a more quiet practice session and read about this in Bass Player. For a small 2w amp this is amazing. The sound quality is amazing, warm and rich, not brittle and harsh like some small amps in this price range. It does get picky about pickups and likes some pick up systems better then others. for passive and piezeo systems it dials in easy and quick with full rich bass sounds, on some of my pre amp basses though it got quirky depending on the way the bass was set up and the controls set on the bass, so you will need to take the time to dial it in like any other amp. Great Product and as usual with Musicians Friend great proce and fast shipping!ksgtrpkr
Great little piece of kit though not without a minor flaw. Play4 string bass in regular tuning? It deals with this with no hassle at all and has a clarity and smoothness that you wouldn't expect from a 3w amplifier with a 3" speaker! The only thing I could find to say something negative about it is that it really struggles to deal with a detuned 5 string low G, that said, it's a 3w amp and a 3" speaker, it's asking a lot of many full size rigs to deal with those kind of notes flawlessly! Honestly, all in all, it's a great little piece of kit and does exactly what it's supposed to very well indeed.daza2001
Pros: Surprisingly good bass response for such a small speaker (including on the low B of a 5-string). At 50-60% volume, it can keep up with a drummer and several unplugged acoustic guitars. Cons: the tone's OK, but not as good as what you'd get from a regular amp. It's better at lower volumes and gets grainy if you turn up the volume up past 80% or so. Overall, I'd recommend for outdoor jams / travelScott
17. Indio 10-Watt Battery Powered Guitar Amp
Product Details:
Be "that gal" (or guy) jammin' some sweet guitar at lunch or on your work break with this 10-watt battery powered guitar amp from indio guitars. weighing in at only 6 pounds and measuring a scant 9.4 inch x 7.0 inch x 8.8 inch, the amp is super portable and ready for fun at any time. powered by six aa batteries (not included) or the included ac power adapter, you can toss it in a backpack with your instrument cable and rock out wherever you find yourself.
Reviews:
The indio 10 amp that I received was flawless. It's construction is very solid. The clean channel doesn't color the sound but has treble/bass control for EQ. I don't use overdrive so I can't comment. That would be subjective to someone who does. It may be a sound that you've been looking for or you may hate it. I find that effects that I do not like work in certain situations. Also plug in a Mpow Bluetooth receiver and you have a Bluetooth speaker and with batteries it's portable. In my opinion this is a good value for the price.Mark
I was pleasantly surprised by how great of a small practice amp the Indio by Monoprice 10-watt battery powered portable 2-channel amp is. The amp that I received didn?t have any cosmetic defects, all the controls worked as expected, and the construction feels solid. I use a Monoprice 6 ft. guitar amp cable to connect my American Professional Telecaster to the amp and the sound levels and tone coming out of the amp?s speaker sounds good to my ears. The amp comes with an A/C power adapter but I power the amp using Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries for easy portability of the amp. I like the amp so much that I might buy another one. Highly recommended portable practice guitar amp. Fast delivery of the amp from Monoprice too.New User

19. Blackstar Id Series Multi-Function Footswitch
Product Details:
Offering a massive leap in live performance control for the owner of any blackstar amps id series, the fs-10 footcontroller is a 4 button multi function pedal that enables quick and direct selection and access to the entire range of 128 patches and also the guitar tuner function. there are 3 modes the blackstar fs10 pedal can operate in and these are as follows patch mode this is intended to be the primary mode of the foot controller for live performance use. allowing the user to alternate between all 3 banks of the 4 programmable patches on the front control panel of the amplifier (1-12). direct access to the digital guitar tuner is possible simply by holding down pedal 4 for a second or so. it is also possible to change onto either of the two other main modes of operation from here. effects mode this mode is ideal for jamming or for working out what is required to be programmed in a rehearsal situation as it changes the layout of the pedals into the equivalent of 3 separate effects units (reverb, delay and modulation) and the 4th pedal becomes the delay tap time button. therefore effects can be switched in and out as desired until a satisfactory tone is found and then this can be saved as a patch for live performance. navigation mode this mode allows full access to the entire range of 128 sound patches stored on the amp direct from the pedal. access is possible in banks or simply by stepping through the combinations one at a time. storing patches can also be done in this mode.

Reviews:
I bought this pedal a few weeks after I received my amp. It has a very solid build and can take the pounding a pedal needs. I needed to watch a video on how to set it up to fully understand the functions. The buttons are multi function so depending on how long you hold down the button will affect it's function. It took me a few minutes to get it straight but when I did man is it cool. Get it and enjoy.Roger
This is a useful addition to the ID:15 which I have bought to use with my Yamaha YEV5 electric fiddle. The amp is great for this purpose and the footswitch helps get the most out of it, but it could be better: preset bank switching (the most useful facility this offers) requires press-and-hold but for rather a precise amount of time, and this also means that switching between presets can only happen on button release which is not just odd, it's wrong. Maybe if you organise it well, and you only need 4 presets per song you'd be ok, but I do a lot of improvising and need more than 4 sounds on tap ideally. The whole thing would be better with more footswitch buttons, 6 would be perfect: it would look more complicated but would be easier to operate. So I'm not entirely convinced I'm afraid. Sorry Blackstar, the amp is extraordinary for the money (or any money), but this pedal doesn't do it justice.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I think having a pedal is a must have with an amp really, I use this with a Blackstar Silverline head, its great. Allows access to all patch banks, so that includes effects. It's not the most obvious thing to use, but once you read the instructions, it does all make sense. Handy that it adds a tuner too!Adam F.
