I agree with all comments. I took apart the tuner and I can see where the tension opened up the saddle (for a better word) where the tuning peg sits. I made a temporary fix by clamping down with a pair of vise grips on the upper and lower portion that holds the tuning peg until I by a better set . With that being said , I would advise to spend a few extra dollars to get ones that work, which is what I am doing after this post. Beware of the Pro Line Bass tuning machines !!!Steve-O
Bought a cheapo hofner violin bass on SDOTD and fell in love with it after changing strings and getting the hanging right when strapped on issues taken care of. (I own four basses including a MM stingray 5 but use this Hofner all the time now) Anyway I hated the guitar looking tuners that came stock, so I watched a couple of how to videos, bought these tuners, installed them my self, and am Extremely Happy with the Look. I had to drill out the original holes with 3/8 bit to install these and drill the front out again a 1/2" with 1/2 bit for the bushing to push in. These tuners completely covered the original screw holes. Did I say I Love the Look!Average Bassman

I usually use the Gotoh vintage style, but they were out of stock. Decided to give these a shot and was pleased. 18:1 Ratio and very smooth. They feel like sealed tuners.UJM
I have purchased this only for the engraved Kluson Delux on the back. and noticed the quality is worse than Wilkinson which made in Korea and Goto which made in Japan and Taiwan. even the price is not good as the competitors on the market. do not buy Kluson again. it's my advice to myself51nocaster
I MUCH prefer these over the stock ping tuners that came with my classic series 60's strat…unfortunately I didn't read the fine print that said "uhhh btw, you have to buy our adapter's SEPARATELY in order to fit modern guitars"….So I just spent probably 4 hours trying to make these things work before reading that….Wasted so much time, why the h3ll didn't they just include the freaking adapters! Ugh!!!! Other than that….they're great, but I highly recommend checking your guitar, or just buying the adapters just in case.Nathan
