Reviews:
Had my reservations about buying this, a cheap headphone amp, as I have had others in the past and the o/d or distortion always sound awful. Don't get me wrong it isn't replacing my Marshall amp, but for a really portable and handy headphone amp it is great. I can use this, and move, whilst the kids are in bed, no more having to be 2 mtrs from my big amp….. As a practice and experimenting tool I love this!gastall1978

Reviews:
This amp has a wide range of settings to dial in whatever sound you need for various types of guitars and pickups. I was a little disappointed in the volume limitation when plugging in my acoustics with passive pickups- they just didn't have any punch even with the dial turned up, but that was corrected somewhat with an XLR>RCA converter jack to boost the signal. Also the pre-amp in the effects box I have does the same thing. It produced great tone and presence on an electric 12 string, classical, and irish bouzouki which all have active pickups. What really impressed me was how it handles vocal and instrument together. No feedback and plenty of headroom. I'm glad I settled on this model to meet my needs rather than some of the others out there of the same capabilities. The looper is another fun feature that allows you to lay some percussive rhythm down to play along to, or a chord progression to build upon. Another plus is its small footprint and light weight for portability. I plan to be using it in small rooms where it fills the space without being over bearing. It is a perfect tool for solo performances, but would probably hold its own in a small group as well.super-perfundo
I am very pleased with this amplifier. It is very small, (like a large lunchbox) and light. 8 AA batteries can power this or you can use the included ac/dc inverter. After playing with the mic input and plugging my Taylor; its obvious that this is the easiest to use and best sounding acoustic amp I own. Subtle nuances in voice and guitar are replicated so clearly, I forget which part is already recorded on the looper and what is the live part I am playing! No kiddin, its that good! Speakin of the looper, that is probably the best practice feature of any piece of gear I own. Nothing fancy, and 40 seconds tops, but it is falling off a log ez and really does give you enough time to lay down a basic track. My guitar has never sounded so crisp and clean, ambience/chorus on both channels are very high quality! Don't let the size fool you, this isn't a toy, but I guarantee if you get one, you will wanna play for hours! Few pieces of gear have ever been such a pleasant surprise!wdc27909

Reviews:
I cant believe the power and features that this unit offer. From cell phone control, to recording, includes guitar and bass amps, Nux will destroy the market, this unit just replaced my Boss GT-1, Pod HD 500 and the guitar section of my tc helicon voicelive 3. Easy to carry , awesome effects, and very low price, no noticeable latency, and battery last enough for my gigs at church. Shimmer effect is killer and much better than many other units more expensive, I am really serious in getting also the nux mg30. Nux amps sound really good.Evaristo
It's not supposed to go this way. I'm supposed to exchange $100 for a scarcely tolerable practice toy that ranks 1.75x give or take below my mediocre expectations. I'm supposed to struggle with whether to return it now or just learn to deal with it. It had been so long since going otherwise that I'd totally forgotten that once in a super rare while, maybe b/c my good deed count + sum of past sufferings punches thru some magic karmic threshold and a shockingly good thing happens. So a full day passed b4 I had time to do the Nux MPP a sesh. It was a day wasted. This lil fkr's factory presets pleasantly suprised me. But after downloading the app and < 10 min of tweak to build a deliciously melting, studio quality Robin Trower flanged OD, I realized somebody's really looking out for my health and well being. Ok maybe it's just the techs at Nux. Fine with me. They nailed it. This first ad hoc sound design attempt using their mobile app delivered 2-3x above expectations. I stayed up almost all night with this thing, no joke. It's now going everywhere I go. No joke. I think I'll start a cult with it.Hott Skonjee

Reviews:
Powerful little amp with a bunch of onboard effects including a 90 second looper (Note the product descriptions say 60 seconds on most major retail sites) however it can do 90 seconds and layer on as much as you like. My Gibson J-45 sounds beautiful out of this amp and with an LR Baggs pre-amp pedal I am below 1/4 volume and that's enough to fill a large living room full of sound. The bluetooth functionality works great and sounds really good. It does miss a bit on the low end when playing music from an iPhone, but that was expected. The effects are great, tone is spot on. Only wish for me is that you could blend reverb and chorus but you can only mix delay/chorus and delay/reverb. Not a big deal. For an affordable, great clean sounding amp with some nice effects you can't go wrong with this. I put it up against a Fishman Loudbox mini and went home with this one.Randall K
I bought this little guy about 2 weeks ago and am really happy that I did. I am constantly tweaking my sound in search of just the right sound. This one gets me there for the most part. The clarity and depth of the low end was a great surprise. I am a solo acoustic performer for the most part occasionally branching out to duos and trios. I have a ton of gear but also seem to struggle getting just the right sound mainly because everywhere I play is different. This little guy is a great solution for small rooms or quiet settings. It's also a pretty good solution for larger louder gigs due to its line out options. I can go straight into the back of my different line array speakers and get a bigger beautiful tone that fills the room nicely. The FX are great and very easy to dial in. I also bought the 4 button foot pedal which makes the looping seamless. Vocals through this amp are clear and have the same options for quality fx. I tried several acoustic amps, but this one did it for me. It's also very light weight and even has a small integrated kickstand which is pretty cool. Very glad I bought this, it makes practicing a pleasure as well due to the sound quality. My acoustic guitars come to life and my semi hollow PRS sounds beautiful through it as well.Jaxon

Reviews:
What a great sounding mini amp. I've had to use headphone mini amps for the last 15 years due to time constraints and location of practice area. I didn't want to use the precious practice time I had just to set up full size amp for only an hour or so and then return everything back to storage area. It was so much simpler and convenient just to plug a mini amp into my guitar, put on head set and play. Down side was always the quality of the mini amps I was using. I was getting them for around half of what a vox cost.. I always wanted a vox but they were expensive. After joining mf rewards club and making several purchases I bought my vox for about half price by applying my points to the purchase. I should have never waited. This vox is 10 times better than the cheaper brands. As soon as I opened the packaging and held it in my hand I could feel the quality. When I first plugged it in and started playing I got really upset. Not at the mini amp but at myself for waiting so long. I highly recommend buying this mini amp. Trust me. It's really worth it and you'll be glad you did.Horn
I have enjoyed playing with this headphone amp quite a bit. It is lightweight, has a lot of features for the price and is easy to use. The one set back I have experienced, is that the plug in jack does not lock in a position, it has loosened with use. I can reccomend this type of amp for anyone who wants to practice with volume and effects that should not disturb others. I will likely purchase other styles of this headphone amp in the future.
Cannot praise this device highly enough. It sounds great, and is ridiculously versatile for such a small device, comprising not only Gain, Tone and Volume controls, together with three levels each of effects options Chorus, Delay and Reverb, but also Clean, Crunch and Lead. Two AAA batteries are required (included), and give hours of usage. Just plug it into your guitar, attach headphones (decent pair of over-ear type are best, but don't need to be expensive) and, if wishing to practice over a track by your favourite band, simply attach an appropriate device such as a tablet or 'phone. If you require to free your amPlug2 sound from the confines of headphones, Vox also offer a mini, 2 watt, amPlug2 amp/speaker to which you attach your amPlug2 and play out loud (but not loud enough to annoy the neighbours. The wonderful Vox 50 watt amp/cab stack Mini Superbeetle Audio blue tooth speaker also doubles as a guitar amp, complete with amPlug2 compatibility, but at full volume, this would definitely annoy the next door neighbours, and possibly those further afield. The amPlug has given me new found freedom to play and practice without needing to wait for opportunities where it can be done without audibly intruding on the personal space of others in the household. I have subsequently invested in the equally good Classic Rock amPlug2 (and which, on balance, I prefer), together with both the aforementioned Vox Mini amPlug2 cab/speaker and Superbeetle Audio blue tooth amp/speaker stack. Basically, the freedom afforded by the amPlug2 headphone amp has reinvigorated my love of guitar playing, and I try to squeeze in some practice time on a daily basis. I even felt enthused enough to unnecessarily treat myself to a new guitar. This amPlug2 is real value for money, but it has inadvertently cost me a small fortune.johnclark1954

Reviews:
Got this Amplug Blues today plugged it into my Strat and it sounds great! and I highly recommend it! Now is it perfect? the answer is the usual NO. I think it can be improved on as follows. 1. Put a little color on the dials… the plastic is all black and the plug can rotate to different orientations. Would really be nice to have the dials stand out better with different colors. 2. Change the AA batteries to USB rechargeable Lipo battery. No reason to burn batteries when you can recharge! 3. My main change request is to have Bluetooth Audio In because you plug in the Amplug and then connect headphones (great for practicing). But to add audio to jam to you need to connect another cable to the Aux jack. So for me it just get's to be too much. Since nearly everyone has a smart phone it would be great to use Bluetooth for the Audio In so you can wirelessly play jam track and stuff without needing the 2nd cable. But it does sound really good and I'm keeping it!Harpster58
I regret, that I was mistaken in my previous review. I had claimed that the sound was great – but, that some functions were missing, after about a month of use. That is not true. I re-read the slightly, confusing, manual. The unit itself is – slightly, confusing* – but, it does work the way it is supposed to. In fact, you have a serious selection of effects – at least, three levels, of each one of, three effects – far more than other units in this category of headphone amplifier. The sound is incredible – the thing's got, big, b*alls! – and that, in itself, is worth five stars. Amazing job!
*The effects are split by two different buttons at two different ends of the unit, which makes it a bit uncomfortable.Dale Alan Bryant
*The effects are split by two different buttons at two different ends of the unit, which makes it a bit uncomfortable.Dale Alan Bryant
Firstly, the sound is heavily determined by your pickups and what headphones you use. I use this to practice in the mornings when it's too early to use my valve amplifier. I play mostly metal and shred. I have used this device with a range of guitars. The one I use most is equipped with an EMG85 and an EMG60. Active pickups through this device results in a significant amplification of unwanted string noise, when using the high gain setting. For me, this is positive – it teaches me to slow down and focus on proper technique. If you dial back the gain, this "issue" goes away. The built in effects also sound very good. The only thing I would change is the sensitivity of the volume knob. 3 is already loud enough, and 10 is deafening. If you accidentally knock the wheel, you're going to hurt your ears. Keep in mind, the positive Star ratings above are based on price: For the money it is a very good piece of equipment. Yes, it is made of a thin plastic, but as long as you aren't careless with it, that should not be an issue. The battery life could be better: I get around 14 hours out of it, maybe shorter. This is with no effects. I have replaced the provided batteries with Duracell now, so this may increase. If they had a more expensive version with more rugged materials, I would buy it without hesitation
9. Acoustic A15v 15w 1×6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp
Product Details:
The acoustic a15v acoustic instrument amp delivers best-in-class tone and sound reproduction, whether practicing at home or performing at small venues. with 15 watts of power and a full-range 6.5 speaker, the a15v provides exceptional support for your acoustic guitar, voice or other acoustic instrument. xlr and 1/4 inputs ensure easy connectivity for acoustic-electric instruments and/or miced instruments and vocals. enjoy warmth and enhanced bass frequencies, via the front-ported cabinet for even more richness, unheard of in this price range. the wedge-shaped cabinet design directs sound where you need it, allowing musicians to hear the amp clearly (and at lower volumes). in addition, a built-in true analog chorus circuit with rate control adds customizable color and variation. the 1/8 aux-in is ideal for rehearsal or performance using pre-recorded material from a smartphone, tablet or computer, and the 1/8 headphone output provides private practice.
Reviews:
I originally bought the A20, the chorus went function went bad. I was supposed to get a replacement A20, but I was told the store delivery truck broke down. The demo A20 was pretty beat up, so I went for the A15 since they had it in stock. Less wattage, smaller speaker, no reverb, and no output with adjustable level.. The A15 cost less, but I would have rather had a replacement A20. That said, it's not a bad amp. I will wait before I ever recommend to a friend, based on my experience with the A20.None
O.K. Boys and Girls, I'll get right to the point. If you look at the input jacks on this combo amp, you'll see that the only choice for input #2, is a 1/4" plug. That means that, unless you use a converter to go from XLR to 1/4", you can't use a normal (low impedance) mic on input #2. Input #2 is the one with the EQ section on it. So, if you want to EQ vocals with this unit, you're out of luck with the on board EQ, unless you buy an external XLR to 1/4" convertor cable or plug. Then look at the #1, XLR input. There is no EQ on that channel. You plug your mic into this input and hope for the best. Without EQ you can't tailor the sound from your mic, with this amplifier's EQ. You are stuck with whatever your mic produces, and the tonal characteristics of your voice. So, if you need to roll off some highs, or accentuate them, you can't do it on this unit with just the XLR input on this amp. You'd have to process your vocals externally to this amp, them bring them into the XLR input on this amp. It's either that, or you'd have to get an XLR to 1/4" convertor and use the input #2. Other than that, Acoustic does a great job with these all-in-one acoustic style amps. I've used one for years. They are very quick to setup, have reasonable power for small rooms, and have good tone. I'd recommend these, especially for the price. Just be aware that the limitations on this particular unit, at least partially lies in the fact that they did not put a dual use XLR/1/4" jack on channel two. The old Acoustic AG30 had dual use jacks on both channels. What were they thinking when they designed this unit: no EQ for vocals? What the heck….?TruthMan

12. Roland Ac-60 Acoustic Chorus Guitar Amplifier – Rosewood
Product Details:
The ac-60 acoustic chorus guitar amplifier by roland is compact, portable and made specifically for acoustic guitars. it provides rich, natural stereo sound and includes built-in effects, separate guitar and mic/line channels, 48 v phantom power, magnetic and piezo pickup selectors, eq, anti-feedback protection and a convenient mute button for silent tuning on stage. as if that wasn't enough, the ac-60 has a beautiful rosewood-look finish made to match acoustic guitars and compliment organic, home-like performance spaces. for singer songwriters without a mixer or pa system the ac-60 comes equipped with two input channels – guitar and mic/line. the mic/line channel offers an xlr 1/4" combo input to connect most any microphone or line-level instrument. both channels provide dedicated controls for volume and multi-band eq so they can be mixed independently for the best sound possible. also, convenient 1/4" and rca aux inputs on the rear panel allow you to connect an ipod, cd player or any other line level audio device to enhance your performances and accompany rehearsals. throughout the years, roland has always been known for their excellent line of guitar effects pedals. similar effects have been built into the ac-60 making it an exceptional value and versatile amplifier. innovative digital signal processing enhances the sound of your guitar and captivates the ears of your listeners with wide mode stereo/multiband chorus, reverb and delay. a master volume has of course been included as well to control the overall output of the amp. the ac-60 delivers 60 watts of total power (30 x 30 w) and provides true stereo sound through its twin 6.5" speakers – ideal for club gigs and small pa applications. for larger spaces, the ac-60 provides stereo xlr line output for connection with larger pa systems or recording applications. it also features a built-in, tilt-back stand for added convenience and enhanced sound projection.

Perfect for home or studio use. Good live in small venue, and works well for larger venue thru a board. The effects are precise and vocals come thru well. I use mine now for studio recordings with a 12 string Taylor and added a sub woofer (which the AC-60 allows) to give it a punch. Being able to plug in headphones is a huge ++ for practice. Highly recommend the Roland AC-60 for a beginner to pro. It will allow you to really hear yourself play and be 'in the pocket' to either play live, or more important for me, lay down clean tracks without using any digital effects from the computer, or rack.fboomer65
I've been through a couple acoustic amps lately including a Fishman Loudbox Mini, Crate CA-60D, and Acoustic AG-60. The Roland AC-60 is by far my favorite. It's not the loudest of the bunch and it doesn't have the effects of some, but what it does have is a clarity of sound -especially for vocals. All the amps I mentioned are great for acoustic guitars. I couldn't really tell you which is truly the best for that. But the Roland shines if you want to sing along with a guitar. With it's smaller size and the carrying case, it's much more portable than the others. Also of note is an output for a subwoofer if you choose to extend the sound range. The bass is slightly lacking since it only has 6 1/2" speakers. I would go for the AC-90 with the 8" speakers if I could afford it. But I'm more than happy with the AC-60.Groovy Jones

I have nothing but great things to say about this amp! Perfect for the solo acoustic artist. I've been a solo acoustic gigging musician for years and this is the best amp I've played through. You get a nice rich sound from your guitar and I love the reverb effects on both the vox and guitar. The chorus is a nice touch, though I don't use it much. I've played Marshall amps almost exclusively so I knew they'd handle my guitar well, but I was really surprised with the vocal sound. A very warm tone with minimal knobs for a quick set up. It sounds great mic'd or you can run a line out to a PA for further EQ if you'd like. It's light enough and compact enough to throw in your car for a last minute gig. Great for small to medium rooms, mic it or line out for a larger one and get rocking. You won't be disappointed.CT
If you've been reading (and watching) the reviews, then you know this is likely going to be a great amp. However, even after researching it, there were 4 unknowns for me. These are now clarified, now that I own this amp. 1) Bass. Yes, it has more than enough bass. 2) Clean sound. Yes, when reverb and chorus are off, the clean (natural) sound is fantastic. As good as the chorus and reverb are, I think I'm going to be playing it "clean" a lot. 3) Weight. As you know, it's heavier than most amps in this category; don't worry about it. It's not bad. You can always put it on a small self-made dolly if need be. 4) Plug-In for the Footswitch pedal — what is it, and how does it work? The one that's made for this amp has two buttons: one for reverb, and one for chorus. Yes, you have to pay extra for this (and the amp is also a bit more expensive) — but worth it. Very happy with this amp. It is such a warm, fantastic sounding amp.B
Speaking from experience with various sound reinforcenent systems. There are many options here with the phantom mic power and even an rca input for devices (drums or other audio.) Other reviewers note the solid build and good looks. I have one in white. Marshall knows speakers and this closed back box provides wide range good definition, and good projection. Not box like. I have run electric guitar or bass straight in. I would think it fine for jazz guitar. Or use your choice of pre amp devices/emulators. Acoustic electric guitar and condenser mic for live app and you are ready for the coffee house.Michael Eastin

the most amazing lightweight personal amp I've ever owned. It has a microphone input too. The power and big sound from this is almost unbelievable. I can't turn up the master volume past 3 in a practice studio, so lots of grunt left for outdoor settings. Wish I'd bought this earlier. And sooooo amazingly lightFerenc M.
I bought the Vox VX 50 AG, to use as a practice amp at home. I've been more than satisfied with it's tone and volume. It's a nice compact body size, and is easy to move around because of the low weight and sturdy carrying handle. The controls are easily accessible on top, and have a quality feel to them. Overall, a very good amp that I would purchase again, and recommend to others!Gary

Open Box blemish minus a 10% promotion, minus my Backstage Pass and no tax equals nearly half off. Then Fishman threw in an official beanie and key ring! I'd actually been surfing around for a used Fishman Artist when I stumbled upon this Open Box Performer at Musician's Friend. I could probably have gotten by with a Mini but hey, why settle for a four cylinder when you could have a V8? Factor in weight, size and reputation… I called in the order. The blemishes were non-discernible and I'm enjoying this amplifier. I play a Martin Dreadnought Jr or an Epiphone DR-500MCE and sing using a Shure Beta 57A. The Epiphone is using an LR Baggs Anthem since its original pup broke and the Martin has its factory pup. All sound great after adjusting for volume, tone and reverb with minimal feedback. Note to Baggs fans: the LR Baggs can really howl. I'm using a small practice room but its nice to know that I have the watts to go large. If this amp never breaks, it will be one of the better amplifier investments I've ever made.Loudboxer
I plan to use this amp for live performances in small venues. So far I have plugged a Martin acoustic guitar with a Seymour Duncan Woody sound hole P/U into this amp, a tele and strat, and a microphone, and everything I plug into it sounds very impressive. I got this amp because it has the midrange speaker and the Artist doesn't. They midrange was important to me for vocal production. I am not disappointed so far. I have played professionally since I was 13 years old, I am currently 67 years old. I don't remember every being more impressed with an amplifier than I am with this one. I didn't expect the great sound from my Fender American tele and strat that I get this this amp. This is my first Fishman product. My brother has the Loudbox Mini and it sounds great, just not enough amp for what I need. Great product!OMBE
Just received my Loudbox Performer a couple of days ago. Spent 30 min one night dialing it in for my Gibson Hummingbird, then tried it with the full band last night. It sounded great, and was plenty loud for an Americana band with a full kit, bass, electric guitar, keys, and 2-3 vocals. Previously I'd been running my guitar direct through the PA, and it sounded good. Switching to the Loudbox balanced our live sound better with the acoustic opposite the electric on either side, and it added weight & dimension to my acoustic sound. It made for a marked improvement in our live sound. I could hear and feel it better, it had more definition, and as a result I got into a groove right away. Originally I'd intended to buy a higher end acoustic amp and tried a couple. They sounded really nice, but maybe too hifi "nice". Pretty/slick/etc. What I wanted was an amp that sounded exactly like my Hummingbird but louder. I'd heard a friend play his $4k+ Taylor through a Loudbox live and was impressed with the tone, and when I tried it I was really drawn to the sound. The Loudbox comes very, very close to replicating the sound of my guitar exactly (after dialing in eq) – most importantly, it stays true to the voice of my guitar. It also has a weight/warmth to it that I really like. *Btw- I'd been concerned about the covering tearing because there are a lot of reviews noting that. I checked the covering on floor models at my local stores and it was a mess – but I believe Fishman took care of this some time ago. Not sure exactly when, but the model I received has a more sturdy covering. No issues there. The GFG

Reviews:
I have owned this amp for about 5 years and I have done over 500+ gigs with it easily. I have other similar products that I use depending on the size of the venue but this is usually the one I go to first because it sounds the best. Most amps with seperate tweeters are artificially brittle and not very flattering to piezo pickups. The AC-33 is crisp and full but not brittle!. The looper is brilliant! The batteries last a long time but you get better headroom when you use the veary hearty AC adapter. The Feedback reduction is also very effective and does not kill the tone as some do. I use this amp constantly, it is a gig workhorse. For larger venues, it works well as a monitor and a line can be sent to the mains so it acts as a mixer on stage. The only thing I am not crazy about is the vocal mic input but it is good also, just not brilliant. You really need to crank the gain on the vocal channel to get the signal because it is a multi use input and padded for versatility. No points off for that. The build quality is Typical Roland- the best you can find. I would replace this in a second if it broke but it does not seem it ever will. It is worth every penny of the price, so buy it. Oh, BTW- I think of the series of AC amps, the 33 is the most natural sounding, not boomy and not brittle. It is GREAT for nylon string and other acoustic instruments also. I use it for UKe and Banjo too. Probably one of the BEST purchases I ever made.Mat G.
I am surprised how much I like this amp. I play it with a jazz archtop (a Gibson ES-175). Needed something for small gigs at restaurants and parties. I've tried a number of smaller solid state amps made for acoustic guitar. Most of them either sound boxy, or they color the guitar's sound ever so slightly. The biggest PROS: this amp delivers a very accurate representation of your instrument's acoustic voice when played without effects. It is the nicest sounding, most uncolored amplification I've found yet in an amp this size. Professional performance quality at low volumes. Also good, the battery performance. It really does go forever on 8 AA's. Get yourself an 8 bank charger and 16 rechargeable and you will never use the AC power supply. I forgot where mine is. The proprietary battery housing in the back of the amp is completely ingenious and impressively robust. Final big pro: exceptionally light weight. What a luxury. Now the CONS: Not loud enough for a gig with a drummer, unless he's playing brushes only. There are some battery amps out there by Crate and Roland that are louder, but they have a harder, more high-gain sort of sound better suited to a solid body electric. So you will also need a heavier amp that requires wall power for times you play with a drummer (if you want your guitar to be audible and still convey its clean, natural voice).mulho-james
I was in need of an acoustical amp while my family and I dry camped out in the wilderness. The battery function really brought my home studio and guitars along to write incredible nature love songs. Phil Keaggy's success with looping effects has taught me to bring my solo performances to greater heights. The Roland AC-33RW acoustic amp allows incredible similar accrued sounds and short structured recorded accompanying musical bars recorded to be played alongside with the musician's live talent. I also can use this amp as a pre-amp fed to larger amplifiers.Lorenzo

Reviews:
Sound: My head mic uses low gain, my processor takes care of guitar EQ. I just wanted clean sound, this does that Features: The mobile cube has voicings for acoustic, electric, lead , piano. They all enhance that sound. Ease of Use: Plug and play, we tend to have more mellow genres, not rock. Quality: Weve had these 3 years, flawless Value: I'd buy this,if it,was twice as much Manufacturer Support: I have many Roland products, all superb The Wow Factor: Good for busking, corner acts, backing tracks any live sound or frequently it's a personal monitor on bigger gigs. Overall: We have two of these, my wife plays a stereo patch with her keyboard, and I stereo patch into mine with an acoustic processor. Then we both use head mics directly in, hang the two amps from the carry straps on the front of her keyboard X stand. BottaBoom, BottaBang, it satisfies city ordinances of battery power, let's us take care of groups over one hundred people. I can carry my whole rig on a scooter, not get all jammed up with out of bounds parking. Works great on electric too!Eric
Pairs nicely with Epiphone Masterbilt acoustic-electric. I bought this to be heard at a small local bar where I occasionally play in a wood-paneled alcove that absorbs sound. This amp is highly portable and is adequate for a living room party or for the small audience I bought this for. The sound seems fine even cranked up, which isn't going to make the walls shake but loud enough to annoy the neighbors if you play late at night. It is sensitive enough to play at low volume in your bedroom and has a headphone jack. I play a variety of styles, flatpicking and finger-style, and am able to hear the effect of playing with the ridges of my fingerprints. (Not really a performance technique, but a gauge of how much sonic detail gets reproduced.) Not a gigging amp, it is good for when you want a small, battery-operated way to boost your sound. The reverb is a nice feature. The chorus is a heavy effect with no way to adjust it and I probably won't use it much. The "Wide" button seems to change the direction of the sound, but I haven't played with it enough to know how to take advantage of that feature. Optimized for acoustic guitar, I've played my Les Paul and D'Angelico hollowbody through it with fine results, obviously playing clean. I commented that this amp has good warmth, but I want to qualify that by saying it has good warmth for a low-powered amp with small speakers. Trebles are emphasized and lows are not prominent; still the sound reproduction seems faithful and not at all tinny. It sounds good. I am happy with my purchase and will keep this amp.c.z.fixx
This little amp is terrific. I bought it to replace my Roland MicroCube, which I also really liked, but the MicroCube was really better for electric, and I've only been playing my acoustic/electric parlors. This acoustic amp loses some of the effects that the MicroCube has, but I never liked those effects for my acoustics anyway. The Mobile AC is perfect for filling a room with the natural sound of my Larrivees and Martin O-15. Crisp, clear, and warm, it does not distort their sound in any way, but merely amplifies them. And to sound like a concert, the chorus fills it in, but not excessively so.James
