When I purchased mine I had it sent to my house. 5 days later and it comes in with busted knobs and I had to take it in for a refund. They had another in stock and I took it home. Well the second is busted too. Huge disappointment considering how much I enjoy playing this bass. Absolutely unreliable and I won't be getting a third one.James

Purchased the Fender Player Jazz bass. Overall great looks and sound, but some quality issues from the Fender Mexico factory (not Andertons' fault): – First bass had very clear weird uneven blemish under the varnish on the sunburst body. Not awful, but if I was in-store I would never have chosen that particular item. Returned and swapped by Andertons, no quibbles. Second bass arrived. Overall happy, sounds great, but still a few issues with quality control and design. – Control plate was missing 2 screws and was moving around – how does that get through Fender quality control? Replacement screws sent free of charge by Andertons. – Nut has not been slotted correctly – high G must have been passed through a machine and slipped, string is clearly a couple of mm too close to fretboard edge and you can see the failed first pass. Doesn't really affect playability, but is annoying and I will get it corrected at some point. Again, points to poor quality control. – Fretboard (Pau Ferro) is really thin – on the Player series, at least. Neck fret dot markers in white are half over the mid-dark fretboard, half over the light maple neck. Very hard to see in low light levels. OK, so they're just an indicator for position, but the design isn't great. So overall, the bass sounds great and Andertons service was very good. …and falls in love. Let me start by saying I actually have owned one other P-Bass. I had a 50s reissue Precision, but honestly the neck was just too thick for my liking after years of playing Jazz basses. Honestly, it felt thicker than the neck on my Yamaha 5-string. So, I picked this bass up after always dancing around getting what would be considered a more standard P-Bass. I have a 70s Jazz with a ton of modifications, I've had quite a few other brands of basses, but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I ordered this a few weeks ago, and have been very pleasantly surprised. The action was pretty good out of the box. I adjusted it a bit, made a few tiny tweaks to the intonation, and now it's super smooth. And, on the pickups, let me say it's a great sounding bass. Pickups are clear, bass sounds great. I play through a little Ampeg Micro cabinet. Earlier this week, I bought some Flats to throw on it (because that's what you do with a P-bass, right?) and now it's quickly becoming one of my favorite instruments to jam with. It really cuts through the mix when playing in a group. I see why folks really love the sound of a precision. My Jazz still has it's place, but man, I really like the sound of this bass. The Player P is a great value for what you get. I've never owned an older MIM, but I research the heck out of pretty much any purchase I make, and it looks like Fender really stepped it up with this rendition of their MIM Precision basses. Good tone out of the box, no discernible pickup noise, good action, a beautiful neck, and a Tidepool Blue finish that just shines and shines.Dennis F

Ordered one of these (In Pearl White) because of a good experience with another one. Of course I had to do some set up to alleviate fret buzz, adjust neck, string height etc. Once it was set up to my liking and a fresh set of my gauge strings, this bass was ready for just about anything! I have used it for a couple of outdoor shows with medium and very large P.A support and the sound was very good overall. Through my stage amp, I was able to dial in a very usable sound quickly. The bass is very light weight .(Which helps those of us with back issues.) Yet is still able to get a decent tone. The bass I received was a newer model with a poplar body and a Jatoba fret board which still has the characteristics of rosewood (slightly lighter in color) with a hint of a maple type bite. Personally, I liked the overall sound with this particular fret board. Speaking of which, the fret board is very easy to play (when properly set up) with a smooth, fast neck. The electronics are decent enough although the "bass boost" knob should be used sparingly and judiciously just to add some deep flavor on occasion for certain styles. All in all, a pretty decent machine that can easily be used by beginners and seasoned pro's (ok, it won't match up with a "boutique bass" by any means but still a very usable product!) This bass is really amazing for the price of it. The neck is so smooth and a bit thinner than other regular bass, perfect for my small hands and the weight wow it is really light. the built quality is top notch. The sound is really good and you've got plenty of sound you can experiment with it. Overall it's an all rounder bass from beginners to pronelson c.

The Ibanez GSR 200 is one of the best "bang for your buck" basses on the market. They are made with excellent quality, lightweight wood, agathis, maple, rosewood. The onboard P/J pickups and electronics sound good. They play good out of the box but they play excellently if set up by a guitar tech. These were choice basses for many of the bass players supporting MWR tours. Musicians would take Ibanez GRS 200 basses on tour and raffle them off to service members on the last gig.matt4717

Overall: This is a long term review of this bass. I didn't get mine from zZounds but have bought from them before. I want to mainly go over how this bass holds up and how it works in a band long term. When it was new it was good quality out of the box. Just needed a set up. I've used this bass on countless gigs over the years. If you play rock then it will definitely get the job done. Finish quality is good and durable. It doesn't like to chip but will if it takes a hard hit. Scratches are only really cosmetic, the poly is pretty thick. Keep it clean and don't abuse it and the bass will look good years down the road. The neck is pretty stable, I rarely need to adjust the truss rod. The three point bridge is fairly solid too, Paint on it is durable as well. The posts for the bridge can pull out the bushings but mine has not. The tuning keys are starting to get worn out. I'd replace them if possible. They still hold tune but not as well as new. Pickups and electronics are good too. No scratchy pots. Output Jack is still solid. Frets are pretty worn as well. Still got a lot of life but will wear faster than a more expensive bass. Overall a very durable bass considering what it's been through.Dominic

I read many glowing reviews of this bass on the sites of MF and GC, so I decided to buy one. Huge disappointment. Maybe I got a stinker or maybe the writers of the reviews don't venture beyond the 7th fret…who knows. Mine looks and sounds GREAT. However, the fret finishing beyond the 12th fret is essentially non-existent. Frets 15 and 16 are completely dead unless you keep the action at factory height, which is just not practical. The old-school three-point bridge looks great, but it's time to retire this dinosaur, even at this price point. It would be functional if Gibson/Epiphone would replace saddles 4 and 5 with additional 1 and 2 saddles for the E and A strings respectively (three-point bridge users will understand that lingo…). Even an inexpensive Gotoh bridge would improve the function immensely; a Hipshot would send it through the roof. I've played both professionally and casually here in Nashville since 1999, and have played bass for 30 years. I've owned some Gibson USA basses in my time (vintage G3 and Victory), and currently have two USA guitars (SG and LP). Gibson simply doesn't design basses for bassists who do anything more than play the root. I considered having the frets dressed by a service center, but have elected to simply return it to GC. Again, if you subscribe to the Dusty Hill Doctrine ("I promise to play the root, the whole root, and nothing but the root."), then this bass is fine. If you like to do ANYTHING more, then look elsewhere. I really wish Gibson would re-evaluate their approach to bass design, because I love to support local business. They're missing a huge market share by choosing to offer poorly designed and poorly executed instruments. Even a Babicz bridge can't correct a flawed blueprint…M

While this is my second Epiphone bass, this one is a bit disappointing. It is very eye catching but the style comes with a price: it does not hang well standing no matter what strap type or size I try. Not just neck drop but also the guitar casts away from your body like it is attempting to crash face first into the floor. Was supposed to be inspected and setup when purchased but was not. One tuner was mis-aligned, the bridge was improperly set, and the neck was back-bowed. The inspected by Epiphone sticker is a real joke! After a real setup, it plays well and sounds fine but then so do a half dozen other bass guitars I own. Just had to try one and did not want a thru-neck design so the cheaper Epiphone seemed like the choice. Guess I was wrong. I have to wonder if a Gibson would be any better – especially these days with Gibson almost on the rocks as a company…. Buy it to look pretty but do not expect much more than a barely passable bass guitar after you fix the issues it comes with. I would not recommend this for any bass player, even a beginner.cibulajb4

If you are tired of searching for a professional sound buy this bass. I hated the mim fender deluxe model, but fender did something special with this bass. It has a clear piano like quality to it. My two sire basses sound like toys up against it. I have wasted so much money on lesser basses. I'm just trying to help my fellow bass players out there. Everyone says that I sound good playing my other basses, but there are certain ugly overtones that I don't want to hear in my bass. This bass doesn't have those unwanted frequencies, it is voiced beautifully. I know that most of tone is in the fingers, but at the end of the day you know what you want to hear. If you are an audiophile this is the bass for you. I have spent weeks demoing this bass and no matter what amp you run it through it sounds good. I played it at a church last week and all I can say is it was nasty. My wife ordered mine yesterday for my birthday and it's suppose to arrive today, fingers crossed.Eric

I've owned and played bass guitars for 30 years now and I've owned several fender basses and the myriad clones out there of the J and P basses. That history and background left me with a bias against fender and an eye for other "better" production guitars like the Stingray which is my other go-to bass. That being said, I am blown away by this bass. It is a SOLID instrument with no flaws or blemishes that I can detect. It came from the factory with an almost perfect setup. I had to make a minor intonation adjustment on the low B and E strings but the string height, pickup height, and neck position were perfect. Fender's Ultra Noiseless pickups (a stacked humbucker really) sound great in passive mode emphasizing a fat bottom end and the tone nob adds a good bit of mids. The highs are kinda meh for me but the active switch takes care of that and I can get as bright as I want. The 18v active preamp provides a lot of room to boost or cut low, mid, and high frequencies to get just about any sounds I want (I still prefer my Sting Ray if I want to get real funky). This is about the best sounding 5-string I've had. Most 5-strings sounds great as 4-strings and SUPER muddy when you work the low-b string but this bass brings it out without too much mud.T. DeWees

I bought this base back in April 2022. It sounds great and plays great. However, the front pickup recently quit all together. After a tech looked at it, it was discovered that it was a bad front pickup. It was beyond the store warranty, so I took it up with fender. After 2 weeks of going back and forth between them and the store that I bought it at, it was determined that fender would send the pickup to the technician if my choice and they would fix it. But it would take 30 days because they send it directly from the manufacturer. Which still boggles my mind, because the slowest mail would be less than a week? So my opinion of fender customer service has dropped considerably. A working musician doesn't have 30 days to do without their instrument. This is unacceptable. I decided to purchase the pickup myself. I can get it in the mail in 2 days, and put it in myself. However this is a great base if you happen to get one with good parts in itJerry

Bought this one for the kids, but it's so much fun I'll probably play it more. This has to be one of, if not the best short scales in this price range. Mine came with a great neck, good frets and no sharp ends. Weight wise, its a little heavier than I expected- maybe 7.5 lbs? Fingers, pick, slap, all sound good with no rattles. No neck dive. The only weak point I think is the cheapo bridge. Its really unstable and the E saddle could be bumped and moved too easily. I ordered a Hipshot when I ordered the bass because I hate these style bridges anyway. I'd have had to shorten the screw or maybe just cut off some spring length on the stock saddle for the E (and possibly the A) to get them to intonate. Get the bass on sale, a Hipshot for another fifty and it's a performer on par with basses that cost a grand or more, and still less than competing Squiers or Epiphones that also probably need upgraded bridges. I mainly just use the P in a PJ setup, but installed a Fender J anyway because this one was noisy at home (but not at rehearsal for some reason). I had to carve away about a millimeter of wood on top and bottom of the bridge cavity to fit the Fender, so be aware that aftermarket pups may not be a straight drop in. Upgrading the pups is not really needed though IMO. The tuners have the large posts so breaking strings is less likely. They seem to be holding pretty well. I can get through a few songs without having to re-tune, then it's only a minor tweak to the E and A.Lothar

I wanted a no-nonsence, light weight, easy to play and transport, bass for gigs and rehearsal. All these “bases” are covered and some. I can’t say or explain enough, how great this short scale guitar is to hold and play, especially for a “senior” musician looking for comfort on stage! I got this bass for my son as he’s wanting to learn bass and music theory from myself . I’d been teaching him on one of my fleet of basses but he was complaining that it was too big for him so I decided to look into the small scale range at a reasonable cost. I seen this bass which, to me, looked perfect for an 11 year old to learn on . After receiving this bass I gave it an inspection and I was very impressed with its factory set up and the general build of this bass. I plugged it in and gave it a blast through one of my smaller rigs and I was literally left flabbergasted at the sound of this thing. It’s a little ripper! It particularly sounds best when using a pick with it but it can hold its own finger style too. I’d be quite happy using this bass on stage and I have many basses by distinguished brands ans custom built basses by luthiers . It goes to show that what’s perceived as a lower end instrument can actually prove to be a hidden gem. It’s loud, it cuts the mix and it plays like butter. Good quality. Mine was made in Indonesia. Plays better than my 70's Gibson EB-3. There's nothing wrong with the bridge; read the forums to learn how to set it up. There is mild neck dive, but the bass is light so it's manageable. Don't expect it to sound like an original EB; that can be a + or – for you. The tuners are adequate but a little sloppy. If you are going to play live regularly you'll want to upgrade these. It does not sound like an original EB. The pickup has plenty of high end. The low mids are unfocused, and the low end is excessive and unusable. You might have to turn your amp's bass knobs way down compared to your other basses. Before I replace the pickup, I might change the tone control to a passive bass cut. Make sure your A & E strings are heavy enough for adequate tension. I like it a lot but it's not my primary. Play any bass first acoustically, then compare that sound to it amplified. The EB-0 is evenly resonant; that's why I say it's an excellent foundation.Paco

Years ago I owned a Gibson EB-3 short-scale bass. This Epiphone has a familiar feel, but it is not the same animal. However, other than a drilled hole slightly out of place (holds the pickup cover), the fit and finish is very good. The fret ends are smooth and the truss rod functions properly. The nut is cut well, and the cherry color is attractive. Other than intonation, the bass came basically set-up. I was glad to see that the fretboard is still made of Rosewood. Yes, there is very little tonal range to this bass, but I like the way it sounds, with a deep, punchy rumble. The neck is only 1 1/2" wide (like a jazz bass), but the contour fills my hand and is comfortable to play. Some folks may object to the high gloss finish on the neck, but that can be easily subdued by using Scotchbrite or 0000 steel wool. The tuners on mine work well. One common complaint is neck dive. Although it is present, I don't find it to be a problem. Another complaint often heard is a muddy pickup. You can swap out a more expensive pickup, but I happen to like the sound of the original if I roll back the tone control and dial in the right setting on my amp. This is rapidly becoming my favorite bass! I was intending to install flatwound strings, but I think I'll give the roundwounds a chance. This Epiphone is fun to play, and will rock the house.Jimmy J

I bought my first EB-O in 2016. I still have it today, and it sounds awesome with the same short-scale flat-wound strings I put on it back then. I also changed the bridge with a Hipshot replacement for a more solid sound and easier string changing (which I still haven't done). Now then, one review writer mentioned that having a drop-D on this bass doesn't sound quite right. I agree. I miss the B-string as I am mostly a five-string player and use the B a lot, soooo, In 2021, bought another EB-O and put B-E-A-D flat-wound strings on it. The results were amazing. I still have good tone and voice on the B-string. I don't use the G-string all that much, so I got the best of both worlds on a short scale bass. It might be the answer to the other bassist's preferences. It might be worth a try. Worked very well for me. The only thing now is, I wonder if I could find an 8-string version.Jeff, Young Old Timer

Overall: I have owned a German-made Warwick Fortress One Masterman for nearly 20 years. I have always loved the tone and playability of this particular instrument. With this in mind, I was in the hunt for a back-up 4 string bass for a 3 piece acoustic gig. I knew that I did not want a used piece, but perhaps a new, entry level model Yamaha or Ibanez as a suitable back-up. I was close to getting the trbx505 Yamaha for about $500.00. So when I price comparison shopped online, I came across this beautiful Warwick RockBass Corvette $$. What?? 8 payments, No interest, No credit. I was tempted to give this a try and man am I ever glad that I did. 4 days after my order was completed, this brand new, factory sealed Warwick in my hands. The playability is much like the Fortress one German bass and the tone and sustain of this beauty is absolutely remarkable. Serial to parallel switching in both volume pots, and tone enhance on another pot. The high and low mids are exceptional. the dual humbuckers (passive) offer a very punchy low growl at higher volumes. Use a compressor/enhancer and you will be in hog heaven as I was. I you are loyal to the Warwick brand and have not tried a RockBass, you might be very suprised. The balance, weight, adjust-a-nut III, 3pc bridge bring a very familiar feel to the German counterparts. M.E.C. electronics are the same as well. Now, with the comparisons aside this Warwick Rockbass does just that, it Rocks the Bass.Best bang for the Double Buck out there.I am very satisfied with my purchase to this point and zZounds made it all possible.Thanks guys!!!!! Some advice, play as many basses at your local guitar vendor that you can, ask questions, settle on the sound and feel that you want, then go for it.Thomas

Overall: okay i'm going to get this out of the way right now, QC needs to be stepped up on these quick. my tuning machines are loose (they are not only not tight on the headstock but the bolts that hold them in place are loose as well) nothing damaged just not tightened all the way, the neck pickup pot had a read bad crackle to it when using it, and for some reason there are ALOT of metal shavings stuck to my pickups. those out of the way i still ADORE this bass. i had an older 5 string jazz version and it sounded wonderful but was VERY neck heavy. this is not the case as the body is not really heavy but.. i'll say robust. there's no neck dive i find and the neck, frets, and body were flawless. it plays and feels like a dream.the reason i don't care or can write off the pot and pickups having metal on them so quickly is cause i had no intention of keeping the stock ones anyways. those are already switched out. i can say there's enough room to make this an active provided you don't plan on using an onboard preamp. in closing i guess i can say that i do feel they really need to step up (or wake up) on the QC, but after that it plays amazing, sounds amazing, and feels amazing. i've wanted this bass for some time and have no intention of ever losing it.Donald

Overall: Hopefully this review helps? For starters, the bass is assembled out of Indonesia but don't let that scare you you away. Warwick lives up to its standards, and this afordable model is a true testament on what Warwick basses are all about. I purchased the natural model and the wood alone is amazing! It's got a nice weight to it and the neck is smaller in width compared to other basses. The humbucker pickups makes this bass a beast sound wise. Incredible for slap players. It has three knobs that control the pick ups to a sound you're comfortable and happy with. You can pull the knobs upward and push down so you have full control of the pickups. The bass is passive so no need to worry about purchasing a 9 volt battery. It also comes with the lock strap hardware and tools to for adjustment. You may want to adjust the bridge because the strings have a slight buzz, and don't forget to stretch out the strings that come with the bass. Overall, the bass is built with pride and it does not dissapoint! For those that can't afford the German models, this is definitely the best 2nd alternative for those who want a Warwick.Dino

This, as others have mentioned, is a beautiful bass. Simple and elegant design, and the wine red with the gold fittings seem perfectly matched rather than "gaudy", at least to my eyes. The instrument feels solid without being heavy, and has probably the most comfortable bass fretboard I've played on. The chambered body sound reminds me of a glass bottle being blown across its lip – slightly glassy, slightly hollow. In that respect, and along with the neck-favoring pickup placements, gives the bass a distinctive rather than a flexible tone when compared to the little Gretsch Jet II that I also play. The Gretsch is also a louder bass. I also own a Hofner Ignition violin bass, and while that is my go-to instrument and cannot be beaten for lightness and the way the small body encourages melodic playing by making the upper frets so accessible, the Allen Woody certainly does better in the sustain department. I would almost buy this instrument just to stare at it in the early evening sun, when the wine red glows translucent, but it also plays like butter and sounds great live or for recording, so, unless you're looking for a tonal jack-of-all-trades (and assuming you like its tonal signature), it would be hard to regret investing in this instrument.Dreaming Chris

This is my first bass so take this with that in mind. The fit and finish and setup were very good. I had read others complain but mine was perfect. This bass is a neck diver (it will not stay in playing position, neck dips toward the floor.) I added 31 oz of lead shot to the guitar strap and now it stays put. I understand this is common with some guitars, especially bass guitars but I own dozens of electrics and acoustics and this was a surprise. Overall I like the bass and with Rotosound 77 strings it has a mellow pleasing tone. I'm mostly rock and folky stuff so if you are a djenerate you should listen to one first. It is light weight compared to a full size bass like a P-Bass. It is almost as big as a 34" though measuring only 1.5 inches shorter than a P-Bass. I also picked up a Ibanez Mikro which is several inches shorter and lighter and the scale length is 2 inches shorter (28.6 vs 30.5 for the Epiphany). If you want tiny (but still acceptable tone consider the Mikro, it would be better for kids. If you want a bass that is short scale but otherwise a contender for performance playing the Allen Woody is fine. I also tried on a Fender Mustang (30 inch scale length) and it did a neck dive too. If this is an issue for you I do not know what to tell you.Michael

Have been interested in this bass for quite awhile, and finally bought one. I like the way the neck feels and plays. The pickup configuration is different than any others I've played, which I think makes it different and unique than the old repeated p/j type basses. Mine was set up quite nicely upon purchase, maybe a tweak here and there. I love the gold hardware and the finish is awesome. The only thing I've found is that my forearm needs to get used to the body type, as I've always played basses with contour right there. Pretty minimal problem. I play mostly blues/rockish type stuff. It's great for that. I recommend checking this bass out.Grover71

There are things that I love about this bass: the weight, the balance, the uniqueness. Despite being really expensive, it's probably my go to travel instrument just for the weight and size. Having said that, for the price the quality and fit and finish is really disappointing. The thin veneer is beautiful, but really thin and easy to damage. Beyond that mine was clearly not put together well. I alternate between playing with fingers and a pick and couldn't figure out why I kept hearing an odd noise when playing with the pick. Well, one of the four neck bolts was installed incorrectly and the washer is just rattling around, but the bolt is unable to be loosened or tightened, so obviously it was cross threaded on installation. My biggest complaint is the frets were not installed on the neck correctly, they actually hang off one side a bit and cut my left hand to shreds while playing fast. For the price it should have been comfortably playable out of the box, not needing as much work as a used guitar. I'd be really hesitant to buy another Ibanez after this experience.Andy

I love the sound on this bass. It has that deep, warm Fender Jazz sound that no other bass can copy. The neck has a great feel is comfortable to play. The electronics are the standard Fender setup that cuts out frequencies and dump everything when you try to tune out both the highs and lows. You are better off just leaving the bass turned up full and use your amp or pedal to shape the sound. Personally, I like the sound as-is, through a good, beefy amp. I prefer the black inlays, but I really preferred the sound on this model of bass, so I can live with the white blocks.Rob

And I'm only 22! Seriously though… Like the other guy said – this is fairly close to custom shop quality equipment. I can feel it slowly becoming a part of me and my style; adapting and molding to it. The best thing about it is definitely the neck. Took some getting used to at first but now when I compare it to other basses in store, this finish definitely feels the best. (so far haha) down the center of the neck around the skunk stripe it has a heavenly satin/oil finish; not too bare not to sticky. as it gets close to the binding it is a regular gloss finish which seems to be good for grip. Best of both IMO. The body is relatively light weight and perfectly balanced! plus the aesthetics are top notch, neck inlays are beautiful especially in the right light. Manifique! Sure you either have to take the neck or pickguard off to adjust the truss rod but hey, Fenders are designed to do that so it doesn't really bother me much. If I had to name a con, It would be the pick ups. I understand they are close to the pure vintage 70's set but 'custom voiced' As per Geddy's specs. They sound great but don't have as much growl as a standard alnico V jazz set; But thats just me. I sold almost all my bass gear to get this and I'm not disappointed! Sound: Dude this bass is built like a tank and the sound is so deep, I can't stop smiling when playing they're versatile and brightens the sound, these are the Godzillas of bass they are for any type of music your playing even if you're just effin around. Features: The most is the exotic woods and the least is some people get RB mixed up with German bass and since the Rockbass people who bill them with small hands put the strings close, people who don't knw thinks that's the German built so RB gets consumers confused. I apologize for being honest. Ease of Use: They're very easy to dial in even through crummy amps and stomp boxes but other than that you can tell whenever there's a problem it ain't the Warwick bass or other Warwick products. It never throws a rock and hide its hands. They're very reliable and well built the best basses over any bass. Quality: These basses can last a life time if kept well thats how good they're built. These basses are around longer than some of these people whole life. Value: It can be steep but you gotta understand the difference between masterbuilt and bs production lines. Manufacturer Support: I never was able to buy mine brand new but I played a lot of ones back in the dayz in different stores then go home and play mine I would hang out in music stores for hours and play they're Warwick basses. The Wow Factor: I'd give it a 10 all the way around and I just love the look of the Thumb basses and the Vampyre bass man badges basses. If I ever won the lottery I would buy at least 50 masrerbuilt German Warwick basses, I knw it sounds creepy but I would. Overall: These basses are bad ass and built for extreme playing and they hold tone forever, if you purchase one you have a top of the line instrument, I have a older one German built im hoping to purchase a lefty soon.George

Overall: This bass is quite a bargain at this price. I swapped out the pickups and the nut and it really came alive. I had to shim the fretboard to get it to play right but once I was done setting it up I fell in love with it. The volume nob is a little loose on mine and makes a crackling noise but it's not noticeable when my amp is turned down.James

Overall: The Thumb 4 piratically plays itself in your hands. The action is smooth and deliberate almost like a fretless but its a dance band animal! This guitar makes you want to get funky and play it cool at the same time with a smooth Jazz sound that growls when the dance floor gets hot. After doing a ton of research, I made the Rockbass Corvette my first bass purchase about 4 yrs ago. Love this bass. Especially for the price. At the time, I couldn't really appreciate the quality of this instrument, but now that I've been playing for a while and have had a chance to play around with multiple instruments, I have to say, this bass is wonderful. You can get plenty of great tones from it and it always maintains a beefy, meaty sound. It's lightweight. It's sexy. And can take some abuse. I always found it a little difficult to play near the bridge pickup (it's so tight down there, it's been hard to get a good sound), but I'm actually having mine adjusted professionally right now, so hopefully, when I get it back, things will be a little better. Either way, if you're on the fence about getting this bass, I'd suggest getting one. Definitely worth the money, in my humble opinion.WOOT

I went into the shop to look at other basses and picked this up whilst they were being prepared. It felt amazing straight away, excellent action, I didn't think I would like the very flat (compared to an Ibanez) fingerboard but within a couple of minutes it just felt right. The sound is outstanding, the massive MEC pickups give it real power and growl. The build quality is excellent, it is difficult to put objectively but you can tell the difference between the Pro and Rockbass series and the extra cost for the Pro is worth it. It comes with a User Kit (tools, cloth, straplocks) and a really good case (better than any non-hard/flight case I've seen on the market). I tried the other basses but kept on coming back to this. Nearly a month on and I am so pleased I bought this, it is lovely to look at but begs to be played (I am even allowed to keep it in the front room!). I know Warwick have been criticized in the past for quality and playability – definitely not the case now, I can't see me seriously looking at another bass for a good few years.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Overall: Hopefully this review helps? For starters, the bass is assembled out of Indonesia but don't let that scare you you away. Warwick lives up to its standards, and this afordable model is a true testament on what Warwick basses are all about. I purchased the natural model and the wood alone is amazing! It's got a nice weight to it and the neck is smaller in width compared to other basses. The humbucker pickups makes this bass a beast sound wise. Incredible for slap players. It has three knobs that control the pick ups to a sound you're comfortable and happy with. You can pull the knobs upward and push down so you have full control of the pickups. The bass is passive so no need to worry about purchasing a 9 volt battery. It also comes with the lock strap hardware and tools to for adjustment. You may want to adjust the bridge because the strings have a slight buzz, and don't forget to stretch out the strings that come with the bass. Overall, the bass is built with pride and it does not dissapoint! For those that can't afford the German models, this is definitely the best 2nd alternative for those who want a Warwick.Dino

I brought this for a signature book for our wedding, we wanted a playable momento, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. It's a great $88 guitar, we have guitars upwards of $500 so of course it would not be as good. Well built, tunes easily, buy needs frequent tuning. I think if we replace with high quality strings we would definitely take this guitar up a notch. Good for beginners and will definitely teach them tuning skills.Tasha S.

I purchase this bass being motivated by its price and rave reviews. Let me just say that when I received my bass today I was blown over at the fit and finish on this bass. It looks like a $500.00+ guitar! I've been playing it for hours and the deep bass is so sweet. The action is a tad high but I kind of like it that way. The great sound projection from this bass made me chuckle while I was playing because the bass made a silver cup I have on a wall mounted shelf rattle! Now that's impressive sound projection! I can't wait to plug in this bass to my friend's Ampeg that's a 1X15 ported bass amp. It should be wild! For the money this Best Choice acoustic had got to be the deal of a lifetime if you're in the market for an acoustic bass guitar.Jason

This is a great acoustic-electric bass. I originally purchased it to use as an alternative to plugging in my electric bass. I instantly fell in love with it. It stays in tune. The nut is of appropriate measurements and the frets are greatly positioned. I changed the factory installed strings with some acoustic bass strings and it sounded so nice! For the price, I didn't expect to get a good value, but I was surprised once I immediately opened the box. Good job Best Choice products!consumer
