Reviews:
I didn't have high hopes for a guitar in this price point, but it has had rave reviews so I ordered one. When I unboxed it after about 5 hours, the very first thing that I noticed was the build quality. The neck set is absolutely perfect and the guitar is very nicely playable right out of the box. The finish on this guitar is superb. It is a Plain Jane but it's pleasing to the eye as a solid, well built guitar. It tuned up well and I played a couple of sets on it, and after one retune, it sang out quite nicely. The only change I will make to this guitar is changing the nut and the bridge to bone, since the plastic polymer just doesn't sustain like this guitar is capable of doing. The additional 50 dollar investment is well worth it, I would be comfortable playing this guitar anywhere, it's well worth the money, and it's easy to see why the reviews have been so good on it.Taylor W.
I’m impressed by the build and sound quality of this acoustic guitar! Easy to tune and play. I used to play on a Taylor GS mini (Koa) but couldn’t bring it with me when I moved to the UK. I was thinking about buying the same model here but they’re quite expensive and paying for international shipping to bring mine from my home country wouldn’t be cheaper as well. That’s when I saw online reviews of this Yamaha FG800 and decided to give it a shot. PMT shopping experience was very smooth and the delivery was very fast – next day. Couldn’t be happier! Now I have something to play after 6 months after moving. And it’s a good quality guitar.Victor T.
This Yamaha instrument is well made. Especially for the price point of just under $200.00. I have purchased many Yamaha acoustics over the years and this guitar will not disappoint. No cosmetic flaws on this instrument, with a nice finish and worth checking out. I have been playing for over 40 years and am now retired, and I rate this guitar at 9.5 out of ten. Perfect for my finger style playing. Very full sounding board and visually appealing. Truss adjustment was made to tighten the action a bit to my personal preferred. The frets could use some polishing, as do most of acoustics at this price. I had purchased an identical instrument not too long ago and it also was a gem right out of the box, and decided to keep only one. Very comparable to an Ibanez Artwood instrument. I highly rate this Yamaha and it is definitely worth a look👍CHRISTOPHER

Overall: So, I have owned this guitar for several months now. It is without a doubt a very good sounding guitar, it's up there with my Gibson's and Martins. Strumming or finger picking it just sounds amazing. I did not love the string spacing, so I replaced the nut with a bit wider spacing for my style of playing. The whole point about me taking the plunge on this guitar was that it was all solid woods, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and one of Yamahas absolute best acoustics available. I have no regrets buying this guitar at all. My friends are amazed at the beauty and sound of this very well-built guitar. The electronics do a good job plugged into the PA for playing live, and it will amaze you how good it sounds unplugged all by itself. I never thought I would buy anything but Martin or Gibson's…. this changed my mind completely. if you're thinking about one of these just buy one!! My honest opinion is the price will go up on these as the solid woods and craftsmanship are stunning.Michael
I’ve had my A3M for three years now. I still look at mahogany wood grain in awe. This guitar has a nice rounded tone that can compete with Taylor and Martin guitars made from mahogany. Plugged into an acoustic amp sounds even better. I notice the price point has increased $100 (not sure of due to inflation) which shows that it is a respected instrument. I spent months spinning around for a acoustic guitar and I was truly pleased with the Yamaha A3M. I think it can keep up with Martin and Taylor on stage as a reliable gig machine.bryan nuñez
Had my Yamaha Fg140 1972 red label stolen. Bought this guitar as a lower price replacement. It has the Yamaha sound I was looking for. Very close to my vintage one. It lacks the depth of the original. With laminated back and sides,I was expecting this. I'd say it gets me 90 % there. Playability is excellent. Nice low action without buzz. This gives me a good guitar while I save for a better one. The fit and finish is excellent. No blems or flaws. Nice tuner, haven't tried the pickup yet. I hope this is a valuable review to someone looking at this guitar.
3. Yamaha Jr1 Mini Folk Guitar, Natural

Reviews:
I purchased this guitar for my 11 year old daughter. I wanted to find a quality instrument that is smaller in size, easy to play, and stays in tune. I have owned other Yamaha guitars before, and they are a great guitar for the price. The Yamaha FG JR1 did not disappoint! The guitar is easy to play, stays in tune and it sounds pretty good for a small guitar. The strings do feel a little heavy for a beginner. I would definitely recommend changing the strings to a lighter gauge for a beginning player. I recommend the Ernie Ball Earthwood Silk and Steel Extra Soft 10-50. They’re a great string for tender young fingers.Jimmy
I bought the Yamaha JR2 for my daughter as a Christmas present and I was surprised. I didn't expect it to be that good because of its price but WOW!!! The resonance is unbelievable given that it's not made from solid wood and the neck is so comfortable, perfect for kids who are learning. This is my third guitar from Better Music and they never disappoint me. The guitars are well set up and the packaging is unbelievable every time. It just shows how much they value their customers and that's why I keep coming back. I don't usually leave reviews but I appreciate what these guys are doing. Keep up the good work!Marvin B.
I bought this on the 7th birthday of one of my twin girl. I was on a tight budget of around $100 and then I thought to speak to one of the representatives at SamAsh. After having a talk with him I was convinced to get a good guitar to start even though I have to stretch my budget. Since my family is a newbie in musical instruments i am happy that my girl is interested in learning music. She is very happy and we are thinking to take her to few lessons. It's well-made and offers a good tone. Great buy!!Preeti

Reviews:
I love to sing. I picked up the guitar fifty years ago to accompany myself and never get tired of uncovering its mysteries. This is my first twelve string and I love it. I haven't owned several dozen high end guitars. I've owned a few. I'm very selective and careful in choosing what I like and then I stick with it; sometimes for decades. My first guitar was a Yamaha FG-150 and I've always been sorry I didn't hang onto it. Reading and digesting reviews coupled with a good dose of nostalgia guided me to this one. I had some reservations about twelve strings in general regarding tuning and keeping it in tune. Nothing to it. This guitar is remarkable in its ability to stay in tune. It is truly quite easy to play and sounds fantastic and full. I have short muscular farmer fingers and find this guitar quite easy to play. I attribute this to the shape of the neck which I find quite comfortable. Fit and finish is beautiful and I particularly love the wood binding. It looks great in a less is more fashion and I couldn't be happier. In the month or so I've had it this guitar has been in daily use without an issue. At this price this guitar is a tremendous value and I have no problem in recommending you get yourself one if you can. Enjoy yourselves and don't forget to practice.I don't have one. Pen name is So
Great sounding guitar out of the box. No adjusting needed. It's been a long time that my chest gets a good rumble from the low end of a guitar. This one does it. The mids are just right and highs are where they should be. I don't know why I have not discovered a LL series Yamaha guitar before. I have had all the expensive brands. I have played and preformed for over 30 years. For the money, this guitar is the best one I have ever bought. I will continue to preform with it……The better the guitar, the better I feel & sound………Jeffjeffe1490
I'm simply blown away by how well this guitar performs. This is the first Yamaha I've ever owned and straight up purchased it because my incredible service engineer Josh recommended it. IMO This Yamaha out performs guitars that cost significantly more. I think this one is a keeper if it holds up to the daily grind. Thanks again Josh and Sweetwater!

Reviews:
I was disappointed in this guitar. Having owned many Yamaha acoustics over the past 25 years, I found the quality to be lacking. The tuners were cheap, the intonation was bad, and the sound was very boxy. Even at the £330 sale price, it felt like a toy guitar. I was looking for something smaller than my FG5 and LJ16 to use on a casual basis and travel about. This did not fit the bill.Matthew H.
My ability to stretch my hand to finger chords is severely limited by dupuytren's contracture (google it for some depressing light reading). I hadn't owned an acoustic for five years as a result. I got the itch to own one again, and when I saw 23.5 inch scale, (excellent) gigbag included at this price, I went for it. And I'm glad I did. While the sound is not huge, it is good and the feel, fit and finish are outstanding. It has inspired me to play a lot more than I was playing, which was already over two hours a day. And that's really the best compliment that you can pay a guitar, isn't it?Jaye
I was excited to. receive this guitar having tried a showroom model. I have been playing it fir two weeks and have the food further examination llowing observation .1 batteries do not lasting (a week for me ). setup looked good a felt good to play except for a buzz on the g string. I noticed that 12th fret appeared higher. I know this is removable and would ask what I should do as it is under warrranty. but I am disappointed ate the thought of the hassle I nw have to get it fixed. over to you pmt ….P C.

Reviews:
As with all guitars, a good setup is worth the trouble. All Yamaha guitars need the saddle shaved down a bit and replaced with bone. The Strings are a bit on the heavy side but once Custom Lights were put on… Perfection. You might have to have the Nut filed a bit as well. The finish is A1. The size is perfect for practice , around the house and on trips outdoors. It holds its tone forever. Besides the Saddle, Nut and pins being plastic (not bone) the only other negative would be the beefyness of the neck. I love the 1 3/4" neck but it is a little chunky to the feel. If the neck were like a Taylor… It would be Great. I played many guitars worth thousands more nad always came back to this one. I'm not a heavy strummer and love the resonance and sustain this guitar has. Everyone that came over and played it could not believe the quality and sound. It is truly remarkable. I did sell the guitar recently, thinking I would go for an all solid wood one. But I find myself now on the hunt for another LS6. Worth every penny and then some. Of all the L series, this is by far the best bang for the buck. Great Job.gorillaman
This guitar has to be one of the best kept secrets around. They are normally not on display in guitar stores in my city, but I happened to play a used one and was blown away! I immediately ordered myself a new one. The sound is fantastic, and very full for a small guitar. The finish is flawless, and the size makes it perfect for "couch playing". The action came a little high for my tastes, but that was easily remedied. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.rpt50
I played this at a dealer in a room with high end Martins, Breedloves, Takamines. This guitar holds it own. Whatever difference I heard was not 2 grands worth and I bought it on the spot. Yamaha's rep for well made, great sounding guitars at a nice price is well deserved. The A.R.E. technology is fantastic and really makes the guitar open up. If you feel like spending more for the name on the headstock, feel free. These L series are a fantastic bargain. The neck is very playable up and down and the double rosewood insert looks great and aids stability. Factory set up was dead on. I bought the burst and it's a beauty. I also finally got what I wanted: A 00/Concert size body that has some low end and projection without dreadnaught boom. Fingerpick or strummed, it sounds great. My only 2 nitpicks were I don't care for sound of the pickup in it, but I don't plug in much and to be honest I didn't even realize it had a pickup until after I bought it. I also think Yamaha should use Grover or some other name tuners. Although these seem to hold tune fine. But now days even el-cheapo gits have Grovers. BUY THIS GUITAR! It is a great value.Uncle Shred

Reviews:
At first I was going to say it's a great guitar for the price, but that really doesn't do this thing justice. It's just a great guitar. It has a great sound, it feels good in your hands, it's easy to hold and to play. I can't fault this guitar at all. The action was a bit high out of the box, but the tech at Guitar Center gave it a great set-up and now it's very easy to play. I'm planning to give this one to my daughter, but I would happily keep this myself. I have only been playing guitar for a few weeks, but even I can make this thing sound good!Todd
There is a place in my project studio for FS800: 48 years ago I sold Yamaha Guitars and found them excellent. When the group "America" presented a acoustic sound (Horse with No Name; Ventura Highway; Tin Man . . . et al) the solid rhythms of Yamaha solid top guitars proved Ideal. Through the years I have experimented with various genres as a singer songwriter; now a days I have returned to folk and "heavy on" acoustic guitar sounds. To complement my more expensive guitars I needed something that could deliver the solid rhythms I fondly recall. Now the Yamaha FS800 excels for finger styles as well: I layer tracks this guitar is a breeze to play and its character naturally stands out in the mix. I cannot see a beginner or a more advanced guitarist going wrong with The Yamaha FS800. JHajarhill
Perfect couch and campfire guitar. Sustains and project very well with a surprisingly round warm sound. Gorgeous burst finish much nicer in person. String spacing is slightly narrower than standard, make note. Bridge saddle needed to be shaved down for lower action. Neck and frets were perfect otherwise. Tuning very stable. A set of 11-52 will be next string change. Love playing this thing, and exploring alternate tunings! It seems Yamaha's reputation is true.Greg

16. Yamaha Ll6/are Rosewood Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
Product Details:
Just like the ll16 series we have raved about, but with a layered back and side wood for more of a durable “road worthy” and value based instrument. still a good solid top though (which is where 80% of your sound comes from) and all other specs are on par concerning quality and craftsmanship. we are completely blown away by the raw power and tone. when we first became a yamaha dealer we didn’t know what quite to expect exactly. we were already big fans of their old “red label” guitars from the late 60’s, and we knew they made great student model guitars for all styles of players interested in acoustic music in general. but how well was some of their nicer offerings going to stack up in our high demand “bluegrass world?” our findings are very positive to say the least. we got in several of these “ll” series guitars and virtually sold all of them initially before even getting them listed on the site. i (jake) even bought one of these gems to compliment my other guitars. it’s just crazy how much tone and volume this guitar produces, especially for the price, and how the sound fills the room. it is dry and well balanced from note to note as well, and every little subtlety is conveyed with the slightest touch of the string. and it plays sooo easy (especially after our professional touch). the feel of the neck is superb and the fret work is impeccable. the craftsmanship is way way up there. well beyond most any guitars in this price range. fit and finish are awesome, and the sunburst on this one is incredibly fetching. the look is very nice and the appointments are well done…but the real star of the hour is the structural parts of the guitar. layered rosewood back and sides, solid engleman spruce top with their acoustic resonance enhancement treatment (think torrefied/aged), mahogany neck with double rosewood reinforcement strips, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and their special “c” block style neck block to prevent neck angle shifting over the years. they really thought of everything. not only does it play and sound right up there with the best of them in this range, but it’s built in a way to last many decades. and!!! if all that weren’t enough, this guitar also features their “zero impact” pickup system which is designed to produce a very natural tone (similar in design to k&k) and also leaves the natural tone of the guitar unaffected when not plugged in. and it works on all fronts brilliantly. includes full professional setup, strap button install, and free shipping within lower 48 us. modified dreadnought design solid engelmann spruce topa.r.e. aging technologyrosewood back & sides5-ply mahogany & rosewood neckrosewood fingerboardquality tunerssrt zero impact passive pickup
