This is a good quality product for a great price. There are surely better built cases but at a cost of 3 times the price not that much better. This case fits my Epiphone Acoustic/Electric AJ220SCE well and I would buy one again and have ordered one for My Martin D45 copy.1115drh1949

I read several reviews before purchasing, so I wasn't expecting perfection. I like the unique tweed-like look, and the fact that it matches my blonde Alvarez guitar. The case is kind of a ten-footer, though. It looks classy standing in the corner, but close inspection reveals that the lid doesn't line up perfectly, the storage compartment door "hinge" is just the fuzzy clothing lining, and the faux tweed cover has bubbles and a line or two where it was hastily slapped onto the adhesive coat beneath. The inner and outer cover stitching misses a spot here and there, but not enough to worry about. Again, not unreasonable at the price point. The only thing I'm really slightly disappointed with is that it doesn't fit my new Alvarez Jumbo guitar like a glove – more like a generic case with gaps and wriggle room here and there. Heck, I bought a Chromacast for my Alvarez dread and it fit like they were made for each other. I'm not sure why several people complain about a smell. Those folks would probably be offended by new-car-smell too.Rob

While this case will technically fit an AF80CE-12, it will also fit any banjo, ukulele, or violin. This Alvarez jumbo 12-string moves around excessively inside of this JC1 case (J for jumbo). There is probably about 1/2 inch of open space around the guitar side when it is flush up against the other side, but that is not the big issue. There is about an inch of lateral movement (headstock to bottom strap button) within the case. At one extreme, the headstock is touching the end of the case and will bear the brunt of any fall. (See attached pictures.) But – it is a good looking case!Rockriver

I bought this to hold my new practice guitar. It is just what I wanted and thought I was getting. It looks good because I like the tweek-like look and the sculpted, arched look as opposed to a flat, thin cardboard look. I has decent clasps that close with only a little pushing to get them aligned. The lining is decent and doesn't have any strong smells. It has all the features I like, like four clasps as opposed to three or five, Feet bumpers on the back and the side to protect the fabric. A good size storage bin and best of all, extra room at the headstock so I can leave my Snark tuner on the headstock when I case my guitar. Awesome. The case is not constructed with precision. The alignment is decent, but not precise. The liner fits the case, but is high on some areas and slightly low on others. Fortunately there are no gaps or unglued spots, so for an economy case I am pleased. Another perk for me, is the Alvarez badge on the outside that matches the guitar. I am pleased.Whitehouse Willie

Outstandingly well made case. Very sturdy. You will not have to worry about your guitar when it's in this case. Lined with fur material; heavy duty latches, and chrome "feet" tips that keep the case off the floor when you sit it down. Made with plywood, so it is heavy and very durable. It was a little expensive, but I know my guitar is well protected. I already had a Takamine case for my other guitar, and this ChromaCast case is made as well, or even better than the Takamine.Doris

I am surprised by the quality of this case. It is heavy duty, sturdy. I don’t think I’ve ever spent so little and received the best quality like this. My Fender FA-100 fits perfectly. It has a compartment for gear, extra strings, picks, small bottle of cleaner, and whatever.Jim

Looks good but cheaply made and flimsy. Top of case will not stay opened unless you use some force to slightly stretch the strap but you have to be careful not to over stress it or it may detach on one end. Plus the latches on the top section of the case didn't seem seem a bit misaligned the first time and afterwards when closing the case. Spend the extra money and get a better made case.GBPKRMAN

This gig bag/case, I would call it more like a case, fit my old FG450SA perfect 👌 it's way more rigid than I expected! The padding is thick for good protecting your guitar. Somewhat too large for an APX 600. The guitar can move around in it. Also needs a small pocket for picks/capo/etc. Otherwise good quality and low price point.Gary

The Gator GWE ¾ Economy Acoustic Guitar Case is a good fit for a RainSong 12-fret parlor (CH-PA). It took about an hour for the stuffing to compress where closing the case took no minimal extra effort (due to the depth of the RainSong). Here are the numbers in inches: Option: Total Length x Body Length x Lower Bout x Depth; Gator Interior: 38 x 19 x 13.74 x 4; Martin 12 fret 0: 37.75 x 19.125 x 13.5 x 4.0625; RainSong P12: 37.5 x 18.8 x 13.3 x 4.1; An interesting external dimension comparison (my measurements) GSmini Hard Bag: 39 x 16 x 6; Gator GWE ¾: 39.75 x 15.75 x 5.75; This case is not a top-of-the-line wood case and I don't think worthy of being used for checked luggage (maybe no wood case is). But it is as compact as it is going to get and a good option for that occasional gate checked carry-on. Since RainSong makes 12 and 14 fret Parlor guitars, their stock case is likely a couple of inches longer (and probably a more expensive AND HEAVIER case). It appears MF gets them bulk packaged, their shipping box was not that sturdy, and was very beaten up by UPS. There were dents in the case but not enough to bother returning (it is a testament to the case's construction that it was otherwise undamaged). Other retailers have it for quite a bit more and maybe that is with individual OEM packaging.Jon Fields

I bought this case for my Ibanez EW2012ASENT 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar. I like that it has a deep storage compartment, that fits my capo, pics, guitar strap, nicely! And the case comes with a key, to lock the metal clasp. Very Sturdy. I am confident that my guitar will be well protected!Victoria

I just recently purchased a Yamaha FS-TA (TransAcoustic) guitar which is a smaller concert body. I couldn't find any case that my guitar would fit into like a glove. Many headaches later and after tons of research, bingo! This is the perfect case. I have to admit there was another case by Road Runner which was for a classical guitar that was a good fit. However, its build was not very good. It had stitching that was coming apart. So do yourself and fork up the extra cash because it's worth it!Richie

I purchased this case 5 years ago to house a new EJ200 and it has been my main case ever since. Any other guitars I have without cases have been transported safely and I have yet to find one that does not fit. I can even stuff old Kay 17" archtops in it snugly and they ride fine without the bridge being pushed. As far as it's original intentions, this is the perfect case for a J200 style guitar. They fit like a glove. Straps can be an issue, especially a thick one, as you have to lay it on the top or back to fit. Construction is better than most cases in this price area. The interior plush is good quality. Storage space holds everything I possibly could need with room to spare. Headstock area is large enough for a 12 string headstock, but I use it for additional storage as a few carefully wrapped pedals fit with ease. The 2 issues I have with the case are: #1: The tolex covering is a bit soft and easy to nick if being bumped around. It's not a case you would go on tour with and expect to survive. Perfect for home use and occasional gigs. #2: after a few years the lid no longer lines up with the lower bout and you have to force it in place to line up with the latches. It may be due the being leaned up in that position for so long or the material just naturally warped over time. Either way, those are the only 2 issues I have with this case keeping it from being 5 stars. Highly recommended for any jumbo body that needs a case.Old Archtop Guy

Just recently purchased the Epiphone EJ200SCE and went ahead and picked up this case for it at the same time. Guitar fits beautifully and very snug! Plush interior material protects the guitar from all angles while inside and humidity is very easy to control if that issue arises for you! Plenty of interior storage both inside the storage compartment and under the headstock as well for something soft like a strap or cloth that won’t damage the finish or anything of course. Exterior is wrapped really well with tight stitching! Clasps and hardware all function flawlessly and smoothly without issues and the bumpers on the exterior are a nice touch as well which keeps the case finish somewhat protected when the guitar is placed on its base or it’s side while in the case. Also, this case offers pretty good protection for your instrument because of how hard the exterior material is along with the tight fit and well supported interior! Overall a perfect pairing for your instrument!Billy

I expect ES339's to be increasing in popularity because of their physical trimmed down size and pickup options for a true archtop with a centerblock, a la the venerable ES335! Unfortunately with the vast majority of the Epiphone product line being made in Sejung China now, it is just unrealistic to expect Epi/Gibson to continue sourcing those wonderful TKL hardshell cases from Canada. I have had some Japanese- and Korean-made guitars in these cases for between 10 and 15 years, and they have been through you know what and back, with every kind of roadie and stage crew in between. Access cases makes the current versions for Epi(and also Yamaha), and the first and most important thing you notice, which you should when you invest in a hardshell case, is the perfect fit. In all fairness, the plush interior on the Access cases are every bit as thick as the TKL's, but they lack a bit of the plush padding on the underside of the archtop lid, a feature the TKL's that EPI had made did not have. You have to purchase a pro-level TKL case in order to get one with a true archtop lid, and then we're looking at cases averaging twice the price of these. Also on the positive side, these cases do not have an overt glue smell the minute they are opened, which requries them being "aired out" and sprayed down with Fabreze. The two biggest negatives against this particular case are it's availability; they did not ship cases when they started selling guitars, and the initial guitar inventory was almost all pre-sold. They are catching up, and MF is doing a good job of keeping folks posted on the availability. The second negative is price/percentage; I personally just don't believe a decent case should cost 25% or more of the retail you pay for the instrument. Given the fit issues and such, I think the real solution would be to provide the case with the purchase and simply raise the overall price about half of what they are asking for the case. If Yamaha can do it for their acoustics which have unusual fit and size issues, Epiphone with all their unit volume could certainly manage it.arch69er

Seriously, this is probably the only option, but the good news it it's a great case: snug, softly-lined, well-constructed, and a solid way to take care of that guitar, so it plays well 10 years down the road. Dog-proof. Kindergartener-proof. Closet-proof. Trunk-proof. Proof that you take your rig seriously. Proof to the stage manager that you want to get around. Proof that you don't mine if your guitar smells of silica. Proof that you understand that a 339 neck is not a bolt-on.Sean

I ordered my Epiphone ES-339 and would not consider moving the guitar around without a case, or even leaving it on a stand in my studio. I read good reviews on the Epiphone hardshell case, and figured this would fit better than some aftermarket cases. I didn't want the guitar moving around or being too tight. I made the right choice. guitar is well protected inside the grey plush interior, storage compartment is small but that's the way it is on these 'profile' style cases. I use a gig bag for chords, accessories, etc. so I was not concerned with a large storage compartment, just maybe enough room for a strap, capo, cleaning cloth, strings, and some picks. This case will do fine, and with the cost point of my Epiphone ES-339 on sale, it is very reasonably priced considering what most cases of this quality cost. There are no noticeable 'bad' odors or chemical smells, maybe like a new car, or new office chair etc. I am very happy with the quality, fit and finish of the case. All hardware/fasteners are securely assembled and look very nice. No loose skin, or broken stitching.John E. Quest

I enjoy my new case. I did have to return the initial case as it was cracked towards the top. Luckily, I have a Guitar Center nearby and they made the return and re-order very easy. The case itself is very functional. It is very common for reviews to point out flaws and for me, the one flaw is that the case does not open very far. It barely goes beyond 45 degrees which makes me cautious when removing or replacing my Martin guitar. This has nothing to do with the service from Guitar Center obviously – manufacturing. Also, the inner compartment is not very deep. Not really an issue just when compared to other guitar cases.James

I have been putting guitars in and out of cases and in and out of cars for more than 50 years. These currentMartin tblack ones are, not near as solid as the old blue ones. Nor are they done well. Poor QC. Nothing lines up. After concentrating and , hopefully, get past the aluminum safety the top has to be forced to mate with the bottom. The aluminum extrusion is not unlike the wheels on Ben Hur's chariot. Not nice to risk my 3 wonderful Martins. For over 50 years I have habitually popped a latch to get a purchase on cases. You know just enough grip to shift the case in the back seat of a car or to move the handle in reach. Well surprise,while shifting the D12-28 off came the latch! Really!? Some room inside or a dedicated place for a hydrator would seem prudent. This seems to be one of those, if it could be made cheaper it would made cheaper deals. It is a shame to put a fine guitar in a third rate case.Wamp

I wanted to offer a "workaround" to one of the negative comments I read before purchasing the case. The user had a problem with the plastic cracking in the vicinity of the center clasp. I will say that I have noticed the fit on the case is quite tight at this location, especially because I have added a peg for fastening my guitar strap to the base of the neck. I have found a simple solution – just fasten the two adjacent clasps first. This distributes any stress on the plastic case and makes it easy to fasten the center clasp without risking damage to the case. I am grateful to the reviewer who pointed out this potential problem so I could address it before it manifested itself on my case.Lizarch5

I was hoping for a good quality case to use to protect my guitar. This case is great, nice looking well made, excellent quality. I really like this case, it is well cushioned to protect during storage or to carry. My suggestion, if you need a case, you will "not" be dissatisfied.Leon

Bought for a Breedlove Solo Concert CE 12 String and it fits great. A little big in the upper bout of guitar but doesn't slide at all. Nice case for the money if you can snag the stupid deal or 15-20% off deals. At regular price there are others but I do like this one more than the plain black leatherish/abs/tolex looking cases. The black tweed makes it look fancier. Protects and looks good.CY

Looks like a million bucks. Nice faux fur interior, quality on par with most factory hard shell cases. Deep storage pocket. Black chrome hardware. The downside I could see is that the tweed would likely get messed up if heavy gigging, flying, moving a lot, own a cat (claw sharpener).
