Reviews:
I have bought several guitars in the 100 to 300 range. I was surprised on the quality of this guitar and felt it was superior to many other brands in this range. From neck joint to fret polish & leveling and finish this guitar is quality except the tuners, however the guitar stays in tune and rarely goes out. The neck is not a Fender Strat or Tele neck so don't expect it to play like one, Its its own thing. It is not wide at the nut so if you need a wide neck at the nut it may not be for you. I find it fine and would not consider it narrow. The neck is slightly fatter than a Squire neck but it is still a C shape and a bit thicker as you go up the neck to higher frets. It plays great. Its set up well for Rock and Blues playing, neck adjusted with a light bow and strings set low (but not to low to buzz). Bridge saddles are stainless steel and this make the strings ring out bright and loud even when not plugged in. Intonation was spot on. Frets are tall enough to allow for string bending (there not super low). As regards pickups this is a personal thing. Pickups are very basic and do okay, one may want to upgrade them to ones own liking other wise there fine.pchapm
I was hesitant when ordering the guitar, but after I received it worry washed away from a single glance. I'm not good at instruments, I never played anything than doing ukulele club when I was a kid so I didn't expect myself to buy a guitar. It's delicate and beautiful, feels great to hold and sounds just as good. I do not regret buying this guitar at all, in fact I'm greatful that I'm able to own it. I strive to become great at playing it, little by little . Thank you!Nazma B.
It's a beautiful guitar and really well made. I bought it for my 9 year old daughter and she loves it. I don't know anything about guitars as I'm a pianist myself, but her guitar teacher was absolutely delighted with it. It's definitely worth paying the extra for the upgrades. I can definitely see it lasting her as it feels really solid, and the knobs and twiddly bits etc feel really solid. I genuinely can't get over how nice it is. Makes me want to learn the guitar myself!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
I still say that Yamaha has one of the best & consistent QC for guitars and basses. This guitar had better alignment, fret work, finish and general construction than guitars 2-3 x's its cost. The middle and front pups are totally flat sounding, blah. I play clean w just reverb and thumpick w all fingers in picking. I thought by going up a model to this one with 'better' pups that would not be an issue… I didn't buy it for the figured top, but the other upgrades.TX Swing Is King
Playable right out of the box. Pop in the whammy bar and you're good to go. I put on some heavy strings and drop tuned it to accommodate the tension on the bridge, adjusted harmonics and lowered the strings. Sounds great! The Yamaha manual that came with this guitar was the wrong one, but it gave me the gist on how to make my adjustments.'Cao

4. Yamaha Pacifica 112j Lake Placid Blue Electric Guitar
Product Details:
Yamaha have taken their all-conquering pacifica 112v model and made an even more affordable model! retaining almost everything that made the 112v the massive hit that it is, this fresh 112j take represents the best start you can probably get on electric guitar! this bolt-on construction guitar uses alder for the body, the same as the rest of the pacifica range. alder is one of the classic bolt-on woods' and imparts an excellent all-round tone that is neither too dark nor too bright. blues and rock genres in particular really shine with alder.a hard rock maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard is used here for comfort, stability and strength. the neck is nicely slim and the 22 frets are medium-sized. most players, now and old, will be able to take to this guitar very easily.the pickups on this guitar are powerful sounding ceramic models arranged in a super-versatile h-s-s configuration: the hottest sounding pickup is at the bridge for molten rock tones whilst the other two are less chunky sounding and suited to a variety of functions. the pacifica 112j also has a vintage-style tremolo bridge for even more versatility and fun! there is so much mileage available with this guitar, it's a bargain by anyone's standards. this model is lake placid blue.

Reviews:
This guitar is amazing!!mir2381
I've had this one for about 4 months now and I am pretty happy with it. Build Quality is excellent, finish is excellent, overall feel is great. the Wilkinson Trem is way better than others with the sharp adjustment screws that always seem to stick up and stab my palm, I have a tendency to play with my palm resting on the trem and I always end up pulling the saddles and clipping the adjustment screws shorter to keep them from sticking out the top. This is not an issue on this bridge. The push in trem bar is nice, not sloppy like a screw in type. It's very comfortable to play. Pots are quiet and not scratchy, switch feels solid and not cheap like some others out there. Frets are clean and not sharp, ends aren't dressed to perfection but it plays comfortably. Neck finish is a little sticky after playing for a while but that's the nature of a gloss neck. Overall awesome guitar if your looking for very bright Strat type tones. The tone is very bright though, pickups break up nicely under gain and sounds good in all positions. Yamaha makes a great instrument and are often underrated, I Would recommend this one for sure
Absolutely love the guitar. Color is a lot more subtle in person than in pictures online. Plays smooth right out the box, looks and feels amazing. Neck is quite similar to a strat but gets flatter near the neck. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because when I unboxed it and inspected it there was a scuff on the headstock. It isn't noticeable from a distance but definitely something I'm not happy about. Other than that it plays great, looks great, feels great 🙂Julieanne

Reviews:
Read a review and then saw one at GC. The tones are fantastic. Better than many of the higher end guitars I tried side by side with it. The P90 & Humbucker is a GREAT combination. Plenty of chimmy cleans and rhythms. The bridge plenty of snarl and coil splits. I've got a number of higher end guitars but I keep picking this up over and over. The necks is one of the most comfortable necks I've played. The fret edges need some work but aside its as good as it gets. Don't take my word. Try one and you will see for yourself.Ham
This guitar has amazing bang for the buck. I love the P90 and Humbucker Seymour Duncan set up along with Graph Tech saddles and Grover locking tuners for me at least makes it a winner. The only thing I don't really like is the shape as I much prefer a Telacaster shape.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

use the guitar daily as a practice guitar 1-2 hours per dayJT in Salt Lake
Pros (functional): – self-lubricating nut – threadless vibrato arm (won't break) – metal plug-in plate (won't break like the plastic on lower models) – quality build and electronics (including more substantial pickup switch than lower models) – outstanding tremolo system – impeccable playability – good sustain – stays in tune like nothing else I have ever seen (for weeks on end) Pros (nice touches over the base Pacificas and EG 112C): – tiger's eye type shimmer with the tobacco burst finish – Yamaha brand inscription on the neck plate – three ply pickguard – chrome knobs Cons: – crummy strings that break right away – not set up for perfect intonation out-of-box – high-priced I have been tremendously happy with a sub-Pacifica Strat guitar type Yamaha makes called the EG 112C which I got for Christmas fifteen years ago as part of a 120 kit including an amplifier. I purchased this looking to take my recording to the "next level" with that guitar's "big brother". Maybe Yamaha has the same problem as Toyota…they put so much quality into the entry-level that Lexus is hardly given a shake with the wary and wise type. I am thrilled with the guitar, don't get me wrong…see the HUGE list of pros above. But I am just not convinced that the price point is correct. It might just be because of the Seymour Duncan pickups…the non-tremolo guitar is several hundred less, and although they look similar, if you pay close attention the non-tremolo has Alnico (Yamaha's imitation pickups). I can testify to the high quality of Yamaha's pickups from my experience with the EG 112C. Problems upon receipt were that the strings were so crummy that the high E-string broke upon initial tuning; also, one of the three installed vibrato springs was half out of its hole. And finally, it took a professional tune-up to get the intonation correct. These things should not happen with a guitar so expensive. I hope Yamaha listens. The Seymour-Duncan tone is great…but so costly?Musical BenjiMan

Reviews:
It's hard for me to write a review, because I'm just such a rank beginner. I'm a retiree who just decided to finally learn to play the guitar. More than one expert said an electric is easier to play for a beginner. Many praised the Yamaha Pacifica series, and compared the 311h favorably to the 611. The price at Kraft Music was unbeatable for a new guitar with stand, a soft case, a tuner (which works well), a DVD (which I really haven't got into all that much–there's a bunch of stuff on YouTube to check out), pics, strap, etc. I think it's beautiful, and everything is working well so far–except for my fingers. But I didn't even know how to work the tuner when I first got it. I bought a cheap amplifier (Crate 10 amp, for under $40–which I also recommend), and now, a month later, I can play a few chords. I'm satisfied. Now, it's up to me, not the equipment. You have to bear in mind, I've never touched another electric guitar, so you can take this with a grain of salt.denyarcur
stumbled across this model during a road trip, knew i had to have it. the neck is flawless and snappy low action. play the neck soapbox open G with a steel slide it is just simply brutal clean or crunchy. the bridge humbucker is outstanding with coil tap too. i need another for standard tuning. i own a 1990 pacifica 921 as well and no you cannot have it not for sale! if you've not played yamaha you owe it to yourself and your wallet to have a go. best instruments for your $$$ out there.cainitus

Reviews:
it all started with a visit to the music store in my town in Greece..it so far came to 3 of these guitars in 3 different colours! THAT'S how awesome this guitar is! it is a workhorse guitar, not for the faint-hearted or the beginner crew, and it delivers everything IN SPADES! anything I throw at it, be it mild overdrive, heavy distortion, crystal cleans, it can do it ALL! #must buyPantognostis
Got mine in fall 2021. Set up out of the box was right on. Low action, no fret buzz, fret edges on sides of neck were nice and smooth. Guitar plays and sounds great with or without overdrive/distortion pedals. Big and rich sound out of P90 neck pickup. Bridge humbucker has plenty of punch. Love the tuning stability of the hardtail bridge. Fit and finish A-1. The only small thing is, I wish the tone/coil split knob had a little more drag when you turn it, but it works fine. I would rate this guitar equal to or better than my Highway One Strat. If you're thinking about getting a Player Series Strat, check out a 611 or 612 Pacifica first. Everything from Jimi Hendrix to Judas Priest, this guitar rips! Rock On!rich
Incredibly happy with the build quality. I did buy a 311 first which had some tuning issues. The 611 is WELL worth the extra money with adding the Graphite saddles, the seymour duncan pickups and the maple cap. The bridge pickup in particular was a huge upgrade. Why do I like it? I have had a 90's strat plus (US), G&L, Fender Standard and at least 1 other ST style. I started playing on a tune o matic bridge when I was young and I started with the bad habit of plying with my palm on the bridge. this knocks strats out of tune. I tried blocking bridges with pennies and with wood blocks which but it felt like the strat tone was crushed. This thing is so simple live: 3 way; volume; tappable tone. Great ST sounds, in a hard tail guitar for a great price. Impossible to find elsewhere. This thing is hard to beat in terms of versatility and simplicity. Great ST tone; ability to go to humbucker bridge and a P90 neck. Great tone; great price very giggable instrument. Fantastic choice.Bill J

15. Yamaha Pacifica 112j Yns
Product Details:
Yamaha have taken their all-conquering pacifica 112v model and made an even more affordable model! retaining almost everything that made the 112v the massive hit that it is, this fresh 112j take represents the best start you can probably get on electric guitar! this bolt-on construction guitar uses alder for the body, the same as the rest of the pacifica range. alder is one of the classic bolt-on woods' and imparts an excellent all-round tone that is neither too dark nor too bright. blues and rock genres in particular really shine with alder.a hard rock maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard is used here for comfort, stability and strength. the neck is nicely slim and the 22 frets are medium-sized. most players, now and old, will be able to take to this guitar very easily.the pickups on this guitar are powerful sounding ceramic models arranged in a super-versatile h-s-s configuration: the hottest sounding pickup is at the bridge for molten rock tones whilst the other two are less chinky sounding and suited to a variety of functions. the pacifica 112j also has a vintage-style tremolo bridge for even more versatility and fun! there is so much mileage available with this guitar, it's a bargain by anyone's standards. this model is yellow natural satin, the original "pacifica colour".

Over the past years I have mostly had Senheiser headphones, then AKG then to KRK 8400s on the last pair. As the headphone served me for quite a few years before going defective I decided to try the Yamaha's Glad i did, it's just made me realise I have been missing a true monitor headphone like these. The flat true response they give and enabling you to hear all the details in your song is just amazing. Based on how good these are I will buying some Yamaha Monitors as well.
Overall: The older you get and the longer you play you come to realize that it's your skills and not that of gear that really matters,i.e Hendrix would have been Hendrix on a Wal-Mart Starcaster, is it nice to have a higher quality instrument? Of course is it necessary? No.This guitar will "get the job done", especially in a recording situation. This guitar is a "bare bones" no frills instrument for working players, once you "make it" go out and buy a 4k Martin or Gibson until then keep it real and work on your technique. I'm not really sure what players get in terms of value when they spend thousands on an instrument a 3k guitar does not sound 15x better than a $250.00 guitar. Some adjustment would be advised on this Yamaha, file down the nut or replace all together, the tuners could be better and the strings meh but this is a fine, professional quality instrument and I highly recommend it.Mike

I purchased this to give as a gift for someone who wants to learn to play. It came just a few days after it was ordered, and I opened it up to check for any damage or missing items. I did not have any.! I went ahead and tuned it up, while I had it in hand, why not.?? Then I couldn't resist trying out the little 15 watt amp. WOW.! What a little monster.! The clean side is very nice, smooth, and clear.! It brings out the balance in the pick-ups.. And the Distoration side is just as WOW.! I WAS SO IMPRESSED, that I ordered one for my-self, in the RED.! I have been playing on and off for nearly fourty years, and only recently had an Acoustic/Electric from Fender, which I love. It has a sound and feel that is all it's own..! BUT this Electric Guitar is just awsome.! It can do screamin rips, and clean country as easy as any guitar I've ever played. It not too heavy, but is a solid body guitar which is good. It should hold up for many years of playing, or just playing around.! I highly recomend this guitar set, and if you can get it on sale a good hard case completes the set..!
Never expect good quality if you can get an entire set for a low price. High E string can't even withstand a 1/2 bend at 17th fret. It's a giant scam, the only things that are okay are the whammy bar and the picks. Not to mention the plug cable broke after only 50 days and the amp buzzes all the time. This is why I extremely dislike Yamaha's music products.
My son saved his money to purchase this pack. He could hardly wait the few days for it's arrival. He has had no prior guitar experience. He persuaded me to place the order as this would be an elective class for his homeschooling. I had my reservations. He did not play his PS4 for an entire week after receiving his GigMaker pack! He loves it and I am amazed at how well his is learning how to play it. I am extremely happy that his video gaming has taken a back seat to his love for this guitar.KLM

Cheapest place in uk to get this guitar. Unlike some competitors, when they say it’s in stock, it really is!Reviewed by Kenny's Music custom
