Washburn Electric Guitar Case For Sale (2024 Update)

Purchased this case for my Fender Precision Bass. Mostly, will be kept in my studio, and occasionally on a few short gigs. Case seems sturdy, and I like the compartment size suitable for a strap, cable, etc. Also features a locking latch which is very handy. Pricewise, its a very nice case for my needs, without going into more expensive flight cases for touring. Very satisfied and should last for quite a while. Would buy this product again. Decent case for the money. Dimensions are a little off from whats advertised. Lower bout width is around 13-1/4 instead of 13-1/2 so my BC Rich Eagle fits a little snug. Overall, no more than I use it, itll work. Sure beats paying $300 for the actual BC Rich case. Also, if your headpiece sets at a steeper angle, it will put pressure on the headpiece. Depth is more for a Fender style headpiece.xv1700at3

I think the price of guitar cases are totally inflated and to get one on sale is something one has to do to stretch the dollar. Okay, that being said, this case fits my China made Fender strat Squier to a tee. The eye catching tweed fits the Fender vibe. If you noticed my cons was durability i.e. the cases tweed look is attractive, but you wonder as road gigs pile up if the tweed doesnt start to tear and expose the raw components exterior of the case underneath? If they had lacquered the tweed exterior, the case itself would have a fighting chance to slip and slide into vans and carriage areas with little thought of rips and tears it would acquire in a short time. Again, I dont gig much these days, but if I was looking at a case long term that could withstand the road, this case would questionable unless you "handle with care" when you transport and load and unload your gear.James R

I didn't feel like spending over $200 and waiting until who knows when, for a Gibson Explorer case, so I picked one of these up. For the money, it's a good case. I carry my guitars with me to shows, so they are always in my vehicle, so this case does the job. I will say it feels a tad more sturdy than the Gator version of this case, and it's slightly smaller, which is a good thing given how large an Explorer case has to be. The only improvement I could wish for, is to make it tad smaller still. There's still several inches of room from the headstock to the edge of the case. I purchased this knowing that it wouldn't be a super durable road case but adequate for storage and playing out now and then. In those ways, it met my expectations. The case is made of very thin plywood, but not so flimsy that it can't function as a good light duty case. The hardware appears to be of decent quality and all of the latches lined up well. The lining was neatly applied and actually fairly soft and plush. It is a universal fit case, so I wasn't expecting it to be completely form fitting to my Telecaster. It will move around a bit in the case when you transport it. It could use better neck support, as well. But overall, not bad for the price. Where this product really came up short is with the application of the tweed covering. The tweed was applied over wood chips and small voids in the wood frame. No effort was made in sanding or prepping the wood prior to applying the cover material. This is only cosmetic, but looks really sloppy and substandard. Maybe I just got a rough one. I didn't expect perfection at this price, but I don't think this case ever should have left the factory like this.Pat

I was given a Washburn WD10CE. I looked on eBay and found this case. It said in the description that it matched my guitar. I ordered it and received it within a few days. The case is top quality and has the felt type lining. I feel very secure knowing my new guitar is safe from any nicks, dings or scratches in the finish. First I would like to say that this hard case was not my first choice for my Washburn guitar. I wanted a case to transport my guitar back and forth from work. Me and my coworkers play on our breaks. I wanted a light soft case, but after looking at a soft case that would satisfy me, I discovered that I would have to spend over $100. That is when I looked at this case. It is a hard case that is not to heavy and provides superior protection for your guitar compared to a soft case. The fit is perfect because it is made to house Washburn guitars. The interior is a beautiful golden color with a hint of orange to it. The exterior is a dirty bronze/brown color that simulates leather. I believe the covering is a vinyl composite over wood to give it ridged stability. The interior sides are padded and the top has some raised padded sections to keep the guitar snug when the lid is closed. The storage compartment that is part of the neck support area of the guitar, is what you would expect in a guitar case. A piece of leather/vinyl attached to the storage compartment for easy opening. The exterior buckles perform smoothly and are not flimsy, they seem to be of high quality , so they will last provided the case is not abused. The case comes with a key for locking the case to keep people from picking up your guitar without your permission. When loaded with your guitar, the case is very well balanced and weight is distributed evenly for easy transportation. This case is beautiful…period! My original Washburn guitar case bit the dust many years ago. I purchased a replacement from a music store. It was a good case but a little too big for my Washburn. I was excited when I saw this case for sale on Musician's Friend. When I received it I placed my 1984 Washburn in it and it was a perfect fit. I felt my Washburn saying "Thank you. This is a gig worthy bag. It hold two electrics, Two of a Tele, Les, Strat. Even a 7 string Ibanez RG5127 and an 8 string Ibanez RG852.starofradiance

A brilliantly well made high quality guitar case that I specifically purchased for travelling. I often use the electric part of the case for carrying clothes whilst I travelling. The zippers on these bags are junk. they need to use heavier top notch zippers. the zipper on the smaller compartment areas is too small for real usage. Not sure why they just dont use the larger zipper on EVERYTHING. The a 3 point velcro rings for the tick bag should be 4 point (it sags on the single point if the tick bag is packed). where they strap at the top with 2 points is good, but its a bit wonky on the single strap in the middle because what happens is if you are carrying the guitar by the handle the tick bag sags down at that point a little bit. The guitar bags are kinda spendy but if you've invested into it, then the company should go the extra mile.I just wonder how much these guys have really travelled gig after gig with these bags. They are better than most out there though but also a lot more money too. I just think they need to use better zippers and add better/stiffer sidewalls for the guitar cases. My rig is heavy and wonder how long the guitar bag shoulder straps will last too. They seem sturdy, and so far so good. I play a Les Paul and the case could have stiffer sides for a heavier guitar. If you play a Strat or Tele then you're probably OK. Also, the smaller compartments are pretty much usesless too. they try to compartmenalize everything and all they need to do is keep it simple becuase NOTHING fits into the tight little spaces inside the pockets, unless you carry a lot of pens? I like spaces large enough for a couple extra pre-amp tubes, and slides but most of the inside pocket spaces are way too small for anything except, sharpies, or cable tips? . Someone who designed it must have carried a lot of pens/sharpies around because nothing else fits into them. I'd rather see a single zipper or velco space where you can just stuff everything itno it. Overall its a decent bag and better than most gig bags but these arent inexpensive either. The larger compartment could open a bit wider too. Its pretty small compared to the picture.effective.edge

Hands down this has been the best gig bag i have ever purchased and likely the last until it has to be replaced. I had previous cheaper versions and they were just that, cheap. This MONO bag has been a huge upgrade and im so happy i made the decision to get it. The linning inside makes sure the finish is well protected and the neck strap and support block are such a great insurance knowing guitar is not going to swing around in the space. The storage is great holding all my cable (both 1/4 inch and Kemper pedal cable) In ears, picks,spare strings and even having both guitars loaded (An ESP telecaster and PRS 7 string) its not a bad weight evenly distributed when strapped on your back. Outer shell is extremely well made and looks like its going to stand up to the road well. Bottom has rubber treads to set it on the ground without worry. If your looking at it but are scared of the price dont be, after your first set you will be glad you got itDaniel

Overall: I bought this for my Pro Series Soloist SL2Q MAH. It fits perfectly, snug so no worries of it bouncing around in there. It doesn't have a cover to the accessory pockets, however like I said the case is snug so when closed nothing falls out not even my loose picks. The latches on this case are probably my favorite feature as well as the TSA locks. Found out yesterday when I checked it for my flight was that TSA has a master key to this type of case, so you don't have to dig your keys out to open it for them, however on the flip side, not sure if I like that they have a key to open the case. However it arrived in great shape, nothing missing, they locked it back up which i was happy with. Seems to be very well built and didn't have any damage or scratches when I got it after my flight.Ryan

le I don't have a lot of experience with other brands' cases, this Jackson case is perfect for what I was looking for – something that will protect my guitar from its environment. I bought my first Jackson from Musicians Friend almost exactly 20 years ago, so my needs have changed a bit from when I was in high school and lugging my guitar around in the back of cars. It's now more about keeping the guitar safe when stowed away: protected from my wife just tossing it wherever she thinks it should be stored, protected from it then falling because it was hastily placed against something, protected from stuff falling on it because of other items placed hastily above or near it, and protected from my 2 and 5 year old who are all too interested in playing with the noise maker inside (which of course I'm more than happy to let them experiment when I'm supervising, but that's not as fun as sneaking it out when dad isn't home). This case protects from all of that, while also being more compact than the Jackson hard shell cases from the 90's. That's not even taking into account the much improved hardware, handle, and TSA lock (many of the older cases have locks, hinges, etc busted off). This case is also tighter on the tremolo, and it has two storage compartments as opposed to one.. Functional attributes aside, it's more aesthetic, IMO. Beautifully designed and very attractive. It is perfect for short-term transportation of a Fender guitar. Well padded, with pockets for carrying extras. Excellent value for such a reasonable price. I love my Fender Telecaster and American Stratocaster, and I trust this gig-bag to keep them safe in short-term usage: taking to gigs or carrying the guitar personally. Obviously, for journeys where the guitar might be in the hold of an aeroplane or a van/bus, a hard case would be preferable, but if you are transporting a guitar personally, then this great-looking bag does the job brilliantly. Perfect fit for Telecaster – just snug enough. Padding is adequate for general use – glad I chooses 10mm over 5. Pockets hold cable, extra strings and picks but full size sheet music and such must be folded. Comfortable handles, good zippers, and backpack straps are padded and comfortable. This case has a narrow profile which stores easily. Materials are of high quality and appear durable. Grabbing case by top can cause tuners to move causing need for re-tune.geri-82

At first glance it looks pretty minimal, but I wanted something lightweight for a guitar that would be carefully handled–by me. Although the padding is quite thin, it has a nice heft to it and provides better cushioning than some bags I've used that are much thicker. Also, it fits a Strat like a glove, and the padding is in all the right places, so there's no flopping around inside the bag, so the guitar is really very well protected. There's only an outside accessory pocket, but big enough for a strap and extra strings. If you need a lot of features or think the guitar will be handled roughly, then maybe this isn't for you. But for most players, it's a nice bag, very light in weight and provides very good protection if you use some common sense…Lefty

Well made for the money. The picture doesn't really show the quality, but it's there. My Gibson SG standard fits a little loose, but not enough to move around with the lid closed. Latches seem to be solid and not to cheaply made like other competitors product. It gets five stars. Sound: N/A Features: The separate interior compartment was one of the reasons for the purchase but nothing fit. Gibson Les Paul Standard doesn't fit. The neck isn't supported thus causing the body to rock back and forth. Kramer Assault 220+ does not fit. Same problem with the neck as the LP. PRS SE Fredrik Akesson doesn't fit because the body is too thick. Ease of Use: N/A Quality: The outer plastic case material felt thin and flimsy. It'll probably protect your guitar during daily carry but I don't think it'll survive an impact. The latches and hinges are terrible. The latch metal and plating is rough and sharp on the edges. All the latch pivot pins are bowed, I suspect from tension keeping the cover closed tight. The hinges are mounted slightly crooked with the middle hinge mounted on a curve so the edges stick out. All around poor selection of hardware and poor workmanship. The blown foam interior is smaller that the case leaving a 1/4 inch space all the way around. The plush interior hides this gap but it's significant. One of the desiccant packets was open inside (?!) and a few of the little pellets are now rolling around underneath … which means there's airspace underneath! I though it was solid foam? Guess not. Value: I'm not sure what fits in this case … properly … but for $109, its quality and workmanship is marginal and a far cry from the PRS hard case I tried for $177. I would put this in the $60 range but maybe I'm expecting too much. Manufacturer Support: N/A The Wow Factor: It looked good until I actually got it in my hands. Overall: Overall, not worth it. The case is road worthy, and does its job of protecting my guitar! As a touring musician (to any musician), that is what matters most. It is a simple good looking case and I am very pleased that I bought it!I've had it for a couple of months, and have traveled and performed through 3 states with it. I live in Florida and deal with weather that is very humid and big up and down temperature changes during the winter and spring months and the case still looks new and continues to keep my guitar safe!Gene M

The molded ABS Exterior is very nice and suggests quality. But the substructure seems flimsy and is subject to some twisting and torque. The interior is very minimalist. It has a layer of black plush padding, but there is no compartment for picks, tuners or other accessories though there is plenty of room for one. The plush padding is very thin and seems cheap. The buckles and handle look and feel cheap. There is a velcro strap to secure the neck, but it looks cheap and not very well secured. It could use a 2nd velcro neck strap for better stability. I'd be concerned about a traveling with a heavy Strat or Telecaster in this case, or flying anywhere, as it may be too much for the case to handle after a while. Basically it's a low end case – but with an ABS Exterior. In my opinion it is not worth the regular price and is only worth considering at the sale price.Gary

I received this just a few days ago after purchasing a used one on clearance through MF. I bought it for a Sire P7 5-string, which it fits perfectly. It arrived in great shape, just about like new, with the exception of a couple of tiny nicks/scuffs you have to look pretty hard to find. The case is literally identical in every meaningful way to the Road Runner ABS bass case, which I have two of for other basses. The only difference is the interior of the Road Runner case is gray, while the MG is black. Materials feel exactly the same, cutouts are exactly the same, dimensions are identical, it has the retaining strap for the neck, and everything externally is completely identical, except that it doesn't say "Road Runner" on it. Having toured extensively with the Road Runner version, I have no doubt that this case will hold up just fine to light touring. I think I even flew with it once, but I wrapped a couple of straps around the outside, "gate checked" it and kept an eye on it. One of the ABS "extrusions/bumpers", for lack of a better descriptor, of the RR version cracked after some use use, but otherwise it has held up well. I expect the MG variety will do the same. For the price difference, it's a no-brainer. Get the MG. They're exactly the same in every way that matters. As long as you're not flying regularly with it, or allowing drunken roadies to toss it roughly into the back of a bus or trailer, it will hold up just fine.Bass Fella

Had my eye on one of these for a long time, so I finally pulled the trigger and glad I'm did. This case will suit my needs nicely. Fits 26.5" scale Jackson Dinky or Soloist almost perfectly. The headstock just barely grazes the plush lining, and it is not obstructed or pressed against the floor of the case. I couldn't ask for a much better fit. This case will be used for general transport to and from rehearsals, and I have no doubt that it will excel in that. However, I must agree with some other reviews here in regards to road-worthiness. I would not happily rely on this case to protect my axes from the rigors of a grueling world tour, but it's perfect for the hometown hero or simple transport. The outer ABS shell is flimsier than a real deal SKB, but seems sufficiently durable and decent for the price range. The interior is very soft, and cradles my instruments nicely. The security neck strap is a nice touch. Storage areas flanking the neck have plenty of room for a strap and other accessories, but no lids means keeping a trem bar there could be a little risky. I've found a pack of D'Addarios fits in the spaces nicely however, kind of making a makeshift lid, so there is that. The hardware on the outside of the case is sufficient, but not great. Things lock into place well enough, but when not locked they are pretty loose feeling. I'm confident they'll hold up, but I'm not blown away. The aluminum channels around the sides fit together well enough once locked, but I'm sure its not waterproof. There is an audible "click" when closing the case from the aluminum channels kind of snapping into place on the back. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I got this case for a very stupid deal.(MF's Reward program ROCKS) For the price I paid, I am thrilled with it. However, the story would likely be a bit different had I paid full price. I purchased this item to protect my Gibson Les Paul Custom Signature Series Guitar. As reviewed, the interior is extremely plush. The exterior looks quite dependable for all intent and purposes. Like others noted, the points of contention are the metal pieces attaching the handle preventing a 5 star rating. It is illogical to spend so much time on every detail "except" the parts supporting ALL the weight of the instrument. It appears that with a given amount of weight shift, the support brackets may snap off allowing the case to fall down in the direction of the headstock and potentially cause damage from impact. Since this case will very rarely see time outside of my home, I feel fairly certain the few times I need to transport my axe, I will be careful.1amun_re

i ordered this with intentions of getting the most for my money. I don't have big bucks to spend, but I wanted certain things and I got what I hoped for. I wanted enough length to accommodate the longer-than-typical headstock on my LP copy Bradley. The measurements were clearly lined out. The rest of the fit was perfect and plush. My only criticism is the metal bracket that secures the nice handle seems a little thin, but I expected there to be a little give-and-take somewhere, for this price. I'm pretty handy and will figure out a way to reinforce it. If not for this I'd give it 5 stars! FYI, Standard Shipping meant US Post Office, at least in my case. I bought my little sister her first guitar for Christmas. It is actually an Alvarez AG610ESHB, which is the Grand Auditorium size. For whatever reason, I could not find an Alvarez case that matched this particular guitar. I did the research on this guitar case, and it does the job perfectly. It is a very nice looking case, and appears to be very sturdy, as well as very good looking.The guitar fits snugly inside. The best part is, my sister loves it! This guild case came quick and showed up the same day as the guild bluebird. It is a perfect but very snug fit I have to remove the strap to make it fit so yeah snug all in all this is exactly as it was described and will no doubt do a good job keeping the guitar safe.jabock_64

I'd been looking for a second case from my old Starfire bass and, so, my desires were answered. The case fits perfectly and I don't care about whatever slight, cosmetic issues it may have. So far, I've found only one: a slight, round bulge in the top, smaller than a dime, where it looks as though the covering material is not 100% glued down. I purchased this case for a custom built solid wood guitar. Humidity where I live is usually about 25%. I also purchased the hygrometer that fits inside the case. The first week I owned the case I would put the hygometer in the case, wait a couple of hours, then check it. Then I would put the hygrometer on the end table in the music room. I would wait a couple of hours and then repeat the process. Outside the case, 25%. Inside the case, 43%. I have now had the case for about three weeks. I checked it inside the case about an hour ago. 47%. If your solid wood guitars live in a dry climate, call this site right now and order one of these. It could save your guitar's life. The only down side is the case is only available right now for Classical/Flamenco guitars and Dreadnought guitars. My 12 string fit nicely in the Dreadnought case (Larrivee L-03R-12E) and I will be buying one of these cases soon for that guitar as well.MarkW

I'm a professional classical guitar maker and my case distributor recently went out of business after many decades. So I'm searching for a decent classical guitar case and having a hard time finding one at a reasonable price range. This Protege case DOES fit a standard CLASSICAL guitar. That's the best thing about this case. It's an average quality case, nothing more and nothing less. For in home use it's fine. For light gigging locally it's fine. I WOUND NOT check this case on an airplane! It's simply too lightly built.Bob

The case feels sturdy, as does the handle. I am not worried about damaging my guitar while it is in this case. However, the fit is extremely snug on my 1979 Guild Dreadnought – I have to really push to get it inside the case all of the way. Also, the lock does not function (as in, it will not lock). The latches do not line up exactly, but the case will still close with a little force.It also came with a small (~6"x~2"x~4") foam block with velcro on one side, covered in the same material used inside of the case. You get what you pay for. Loaded my guitar, it fit ok. But, after loading the outside pocket, I closed the zipper and the zipper handle came off. I manually opened the pocket, unloaded everything and put the bag in the recycle bin.jimpogue

gigbags are made to grab and go play somewhere. that is what this is. if you want some extra protection, get an old beach towel or bed sheet to wrap around it. you need a towel to wipe off your sweaty guitar anyway.thurstonnalley

I bought the Gator GWE Hardshell case for a Squier Affinity Stratocaster project. The case holds the guitar firmly in place with no movement. I was a bit surprised at the good quality of the case at the price point. It wouldn't hold up to excessive abuse, but for storage purposes it works fine.Kenneth

Bought this case along with a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster thinking it wouldn’t be as nice as the similar Fender case that is around $80 more but I did think it would at least be a solid, protective case. It is not. Exchanged emails with AMS to authorize an exchange for the SKB case and was made aware exchanges are not allowed on Easy payment options. Makes sense, I just wasn’t aware and I’m sure I’m not the first caught off guard. Opted to return for a refund and was told card on file would be charged around twelve bucks. To return a junky case that has carpet on the interior lifting up, and that also has “tolex” pulling apart on the outside. Lame. Just get the skb, or even better, order the deluxe molded fender case from someone who stocks it and hopefully stands behind the products they sell. Maybe just a byproduct of the Amazon era where decades old retailers are essentially operating like a punk distro…..Ty

I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice

I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I admit, I was a little skeptical about a brand new $50 guitar case (including shipping). I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. It's a really nice case! Lightweight, well-made, and my Danelectro DC 59 fits inside perfectly. I've bought cases in the past that smelled like toxic Chinese chemicals. Not this one. I would highly recommend this case to anybody.happyville

Vastly superior to a gig bag, the fit and finish is okay, and the value is excellent. It's not the sturdiest case I've ever handled, but it's much better protection for your guitar than anything else at this price point.sja.jim.40ppk8q

I needed a case for a Les Paul style guitar and this one looked promising although I was concerned about the low price relative to quality. It is made in China but it is a perfect fit for my guitar, nicely padded, the hardware is very good, the overall fit and finish are all I was looking for. rugged case that fits my D'angelico Gramercy well. Should fit any other brand of Grand Auditorium well too. There's just a tiny bit of wiggle room, but it doesn't bother me too much. It's fine for going around to rehearsal and light gigs. If you're a touring pro or looking to ship a guitar in this case you'll want something beefier. The insides are very well padded as it is. As a stupid deal of the day, this was a great purchase. If you're looking at paying retail, this isn't a bad choice but they're may be something better for your needs out thereBobby B.

i first bought a skb case at 3 times the cost of this and the foam insert fell out of the top when i opened it. i then bought a gator case also about 3 times more in cost and it was so bent up the case was hard to close and would not seal. you could stick 2 credit cards into the latched case between the gaps. i even bought an epiphone branded plywood case and it arrived with what looked like a bullet hole in the bottom bout end. i then bought this for $49 on sale with very low expectations the case was put together poorly, had glue slopped all over the case inside and out, the fuzzy black lining is very thin and cheap and the foam is hard. now the good, it has 6 latches that all work, one is lockable but you can use nearly any suitcase key to unlock it,the two sides come together easily and the fit is tight as it should be, the hinges are well placed and work properly. the outside is hard plastic with a nice uniform finish and what i expected and wanted. the handle is well attached and solid. my epiphone les paul limited custom pro fits like a glove. this is not something i would check at the airlines but it should be fine in the car and protect against kids and dogs in the house if this case had cost $100 or more i would have sent it back, at $49 sale price it is better than i had hoped for and better than the gator or skb. the thing all of these cases have in common is poor workmanship,cheap materials and made in china! after i cleaned up all of the glue it looks quite nice. it is a shame that the companies that build all of these chinese cases rely on the customer to do their quality control work. .crazy gunsmith

I bought a couple of these when they were on sale and they're exaclty what I expected. They're not top of the line, and they certainly are NOT suitable for checked luggage on a flight, but for everyday use they're fine. My Seagull Mariner fits perfectly. My Rogue resonator fits a little loose but it's fine. I've also used one to transport a D'Angelico hollowbody and it fit fine with a towel tossed on top to keep it from bouncing around.Doug

This Musicians Choice product is inexpensive – and no worse than the significantly-more-costly, official, Gibson-branded SG case. That's not saying much, though. The neck rest is about 1/3 of an inch too high. That means that, since the body portion of the case lid has a pad that presses down on your SG's body, closing the case puts serious pressure on the headstock of your guitar. Essentially, unmodified, this case is perfectly designed to break your SG at the headstock, if it's subjected to any, even fairly minor, banging around – such as by airport baggage handlers. If you have modest shop skills – and somewhat more advanced upholstery chops – you can carefully remove the velveteen cloth from the neck rest block, remove the block and sand its bottom down about 1/3 inch, then reinstall (re-glue) the block to the bottom of the case, and then trim and re-glue the velveteen to cover it. Voila! Your SG case now actually PROTECTS your guitar, instead of endangering it. Again, it bears repeating that the Gibson-branded case has EXACTLY the same design defect. The Musicians Choice version is just a slavish copy. If you want actual protection without having to modify the case, buy an ABS-molded, third-party, high-end case and leave both this one and its Gibson equivalent on the shelf.thomst

Excellent case for the price! I keep all my guitars in cases on a guitar rack in my studio. I needed a case for my SG without spending $100 or more on a case. I no longer do any gigs, so this case fit the bill for my needs. As in other reviews, my SG fit like a glove. Are there higher quality, more expensive cases out there? Yes. But for home protection against dust, or accidental fall mishaps, or short trips to a jam session, it's perfect! If your needs are somewhat similar to mine, I'd say, Don't hesitate! The case described is a 3" thick flat top case for a solid body, and the case GC sent (3 times…!) was a 5" thick case with a top bubble for an archtop. Even the tag on the case says it's for an archtop… It's a great budget case that fits a Telecaster loosely, and it will protect the guitar in my trunk exponentially better than any gig bag and will serve its purpose, so it's a keeper. The case sent is really the other more expensive Musician's Gear Archtop Deluxe Case at the solid body case price, and there's not a lot of other options in this price range.Smitty
