Still the best. Price increased only by $10 since inflation hit the pedal market, so not too bad. Tried many others. Still my go-to pedal. Heavy, fits my foot nicely. Not to small or large. L/R in/out, plus exp jack. Tension setting helps for fine tuning volume control. Recommend remove base plate and blow out rheostat once a year or so. Use compressed air (Office Depot/Office Max)mud1105
I needed a pedal to help me get my volume right at shows….Using the gtr volume control and or a volume pedal in front of my pedal board just changes the drive into the FX. I get everything nicely balanced in the studio or at home, and then each venue has odd sound characteristics and sometimes I am too loud in my rhythm and too soft in my leads & no time to get everything adjusted just right. So I wanted a simple master volume pedal after all the FX and before the amp…(did not want to hassle with more cables needed for the FX loop). I have tried them all…none worked well for me….Well, here is what I learned: This pedal has a min volume control which allows more accurate setting of the pedal to the volume I need mid-song. This control was key, allowed me to zero in on the volume easily as small changes in the pedal position did not produce huge changes in volume. The pedal does not cut the quality, at least not in noisy bars and restaurants. So it's very good. But the real point is after years of not doing the volume thing well with my right foot I discovered that I was much better at the task using my left foot…and I am right handed!! This has changed everything. Turns out, the issue was my right leg is way sturdier to stand on and control the volume with my left foot. If you have a problem with this type of thing, just try your other foot. The pedal and this simple foot change basically solved the issue. I am not perfect, but way better than before and I get better with each gig!!BC 123
Our keyboard player also plays steel guitar. We built a stand that integrates with the keyboard, so she can switch between keyboard and steel very quickly. We now own two of these volume controls. The first one is mounted to the effects pedal attached to our keyboard. The other is a spare. We use channel 1 for keyboard volume control and channel 2 for steel guitar volume control. It saves us from cluttering our board with two pedals. I wish we could run stereo keyboard, but we forgo that for practicality. We like the overall feel of the FV-500L Stereo Volume Pedal. The only drawback we can find is its size. It's about a foot long. But overall we like it.Uncle Ronnie

I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Boss FV50 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as the EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great.hexagon
Some unusual advantages here, compared to most passive volume pedals: Weighs < 1 lb. (and feels even lighter); stereo throughput (good for keyboards); and minimal tone suck. Has the same abrupt taper as most volume pedals — active or passive — but its "minimum volume" knob helps you tweak this: You can set the pedal's heel position to provide anything between zero volume and full volume (= no cut from toe position). This simulates a more-gradual taper/response, if you can live with a heel position that doesn't entirely cut out your sound. E.g., set the heel position to your basic rhythm-guitar volume level, then rock forward to the toe position for solos. The Interwebs claim that you can use a TRS cable, plus a standard patch cable, to make any passive volume pedal work with an expression-pedal input. I haven't tried that yet with this one. But I like it — perfect for my needs.Grasshopper
3. Ernie Ball Vp Jr. 250k Passive Volume Pedal

It provides all the same great features as our original volume pedal while reducing your footprint by 22%. the vp 250 k jr is perfectly voiced for passive signals and features a compact, rugged design consisting of a billet aluminum housing that is virtually indestructible. directly behind the input jack under the footplate is a micro taper switch which provides the user two distinct volume swell rates.
Reviews:
This pedal is an industry standard and used by countless professionals live and in the studio. It enables me to practice at home w/the full potential of my guitar's volume, pedals and amp. My amp volume can be to a place where it's working better and can accept the full volume of my guitar. The volume pedal is a go-between that makes it happen at reasonable home volumes in my studio. Pedal steel effects are achieved as are tremolo. It doesn't get in the way or degrade the guitar's tone as other active pedals tend to. It takes practice to get swells sounding good and accurate. At times I find myself needing to increase or back off subtly and that takes practice to hit it right every time. The other issue w/mine is that I'd like it to sometimes be less resistant to foot/leg pressure but there are clear reasons for this (it doesn't move or drift once set). All in all I'm very satisfied w/adding this to my tool belt.trumpetter333
I purchased this Ernie Ball VP JR from Musicians Friend (Guitar Center actually), it is a used pedal, but by the looks of it to me it looked new. No marks on it and very little dust. I believe this pedal will be perfect to use with my new pedal steel guitar. It is more low profile than others I've had. Pedal is smooth from no volume to full volume position. The only thing it didnt have was the little rubber feet on bottom of pedal, but I had a cheap pedal that I was gonna trash anyway, so I pulled the rubber feet off of it and installed them on my Ernie Ball pedal. Problem solved. Hope to get years of use out of it.John
I'm not Experienced but not Novice, just for openers. Somewhere in between. The pedal is nice, it's smooth, it's responsive. One of the sweep settings seemed to have a large amount of drop off at the bottoms of the pedals travel. My biggest issue with it (maybe ANY volume pedal) is I couldn't set a 'bottom' that could serve as my normal or home base setting. As such, it's simply too distracting at the end of a solo or lead section to find the volume I want to return to. I think a pedal like this should have either a digital home setting, or maybe you stomp hard and it returns to home at the bottom, or a clear detent for a home setting. I am not saying this didn't function as advertised! It just doesn't suit my purposes.Alan in the Loft

I was skeptical about this purchase, but wanted a combo wah/volume pedal for my mini board. Well, this unit is great,if you are looking to go small. Sound quality: Better than my Crybaby! Really happy with the wah. The volume has an equal span across the pedal. Features: Small footprint. The only issue I had, and it's mostly cosmetic, is that I wish the leds were on the side rather top pedal because my foot covers the top and I cannot tell (sometimes) if I'm in wah/volume mode when playing with the band until I depress the pedal and listen closely. All in all I am very pleased with this pedal. I play professionally every weekend and believe this pedal will last a long time, as long as I take care because it is basically made from plastic.just42daysteve

The wah part works GREAT, the volume is ok but because it's so small it's very sensitive and lower volumes takes some practice. Well worth the price. Even though it's plastic, it seems sturdy. Time will tell. Clean sound, no static or popping. Fits pedal board well, about the same size as a regular pedal.Wes
8. Tc Electronic Mini Spark Booster Guitar Pedal
Product Details:
A tiny pedal with a loud bark, the tc electronic spark mini booster can provide up to 20db of clean boosted power. whether you want to kick it on periodically for some extra punch or leave it on all the time as a tone booster the spark mini can prove useful in many playing situations regardless of genre. because of its diminutive footprint the spark mini can be easily placed in any open space on your board. if you want to add more gain to your sound put the spark mini at the beginning of your signal chain to drive your pedals and amp harder. some guitarists have an always on boost in this configuration to impart some grit on their tone. if you want to just boost your overall volume stick the spark mini at the end of your signal chain either after all of your pedals or in your amp's effects loop. should you for whatever reason want to disengage the spark mini the true bypass switching ensures that the circuitry in the pedal won't affect your tone while disengaged.

I wanted a button to make me louder for solos etc. and this does exactly that without changing tone. Brilliantly simple: set how much volume jump you want and that’s it, I don’t think I have had the dial past 25% so far. The ‘latching’ function of the foot switch is a great idea. Great price as wellReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Initially intended to buy an Xotic EP Booster because I wanted to try the Echoplex thing out, but saw this little guy and figured…why not? I like it so much, I don't see the point in ordering the EP Booster anymore! Hits the front end of my Soldano in a way no overdrive has yet, and with no noise. Works equally well in front of my OCD pedal for a lead boost. And to all the people whining about the switch not clicking…whatever. I like that about the TC stuff and wish all pedal companies would make their switches "clickless". Great value, just buy it already! Thanks TC and Sweetwater!
This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I'm not particularly fond of the "momentary volume boost" feature but that doesn't change my overall opinion. It's a great item.ethan1957

Reviews:
I bought this pedal because it fits very well on my bass pedal board. It doesn't take up much space. It is well built. Another plus is the pedal is a passive pedal; it does not require a power source. It is taking some practice to be able to get a smooth volume swell and fade outs.Michael
Overall: I've had the big Ernie Ball VP for years however I recently decided to downsize my board and decided to try the smaller DVP4 to save space. Wow, this thing is TINY! The size difference does take some getting used to.One important thing to mention, the Aux out can NOT be used as an always on tuner out. Its function is solely to be used if you're going to hook it up as an expression pedal instead of a volume pedal.Unfortunately the sweep isn't as smooth as the Ernie Ball. Starting from the heal down position (volume at 0) the first 15-20% of the sweep doesn't do anything. Then all the sudden the volume comes like you just flipped a toggle switch. So volume swells aren't the smoothest thing since the sound all the sudden hits when you're almost at 1/3 volume. But it's usable once you get used to that nuance.Overall I'm satisfied with it for now however I may explore other mini volume pedal offerings in the near future to see if they have a smoother more consistent sweep.
If using a volume pedal is a big part of your sound, I don't know if this is for you. If you're that person, then you probably already know the big volume pedal you want and should just get that one. For the rest of us, who use volume and expression pedals sparingly, this thing is really great. It doesn't take up a ton of space on your board and even though it is small, it actually feels natural rocking it back and forth. I use it as an expression pedal for my HX Stomp, and it works amazingly for volume swells, wah-wah and the occasional whammy when I feel like arming the homeless.BoDean

Reviews:
At a point several years back I only owned Active Basses, but in the space of two months proceeded to acquire several High-End Basses with Passive Electronics, I was in need for something in my signal chain to raise the output of the Passives to the level of my Active Basses. I took the advice of a close friend who's a true "Professional Bassist" who also knows a great deal about the technical issues of Pedalboards, Large-Scale Amplification and such and picked up the Xotic Bass RC Booster which was the highest-quality he could recommend (I'd rather spend the money once rather than upgrade from a "Beginner's Pedal" to a "Midrange Model" and so on…) That was once of the best pieces of advice I've been given in terms of gear, as to this day the Bass RC Booster is a main piece of equipment on my Pedalboard. Between the 2-Band EQ, Gain & Volume controls I'm able to raise the level of my own Passive Basses or a Bass that I'm using at a Jam or Open Mic to the levels of my Active Bass, which I have all adjusted to Unity Gain as to cause as little issues as possible. Two surprising use of note: with a minimal increase in Volume the Pedal becomes just as useful as a Volume Boost to both Passive & Active Basses for solos, drum 'n bass breakdowns and other times where it's necessary to step out into the spotlight a bit more. Secondly, when the Gain is pushed towards the higher registers you can even can a quite useable "SVT"-type Overdrive. Even players who play with a clean tone will certainly find this added bonus helpful in both live and studio situations. To sum up the Xotic RC Bass Booster, it's an extremely high build-and sonic quality, low noise & versatile Boost effect. Its additional use as a light Overdrive effects is just as effective in its field. I use this often on my Pedalboard, and would replace it immediately if it were lost or stolen. A bit pricey when initially purchasing, it makes up for that as you're buying a Professional Quality effect, and would not have any need to replace with a "better one" a year or so down the road. This is all one would need to cover this area of effects!
I have an Xotic AC Booster and it is one of my fav pedals. At the start of my chain – after the buffer – I have a Compressor, then an old DOD Preamp 250, followed by my AC. I like the sound, but had this setup for a while and was just looking to shake things up. I thought the RC ver 2 would be a great replacement for the DOD as what could be better than 2 xotics in series? Well, not this! The Comp (Wampler Ego; another pedal I like alot) did not play well with the RC. The sound was muddy and lost all definition. The RC alone was OK, but not great. Found the effect of Gain 1 to be pretty darn subtle and really not much better than my old DOD gain pedal. Had to crank RC Gain 1 to full CW to hear much – a very different pedal from the AC which is super responsive. I also found the adjustment for the RC Gain 2 pot to be very awkward for a quick adjustment onstage as is occasionally necessary between songs. So, I was pretty bummed out as I love the AC and I use an Xotic EP booster for regular lead boosts. Just did not work out for me. Hard to decide if I would recommend the RC. Personally, I am very picky about effects, usually use only 2 at most at one time (e.g. Comp + AC; EQ + Delay, etc.) . So I think i would say that I do not recommend…but you may like it.BCY123
I'm surprised at how much I use this pedal. I bought it to boost the signal of passive basses and it does that and a lot more. The EQ points are right where you need them. And because you can preset those as well as the volume, when you switch to a passive bass in the middle of a live performance there is no time wasted fiddling with knobs trying to match the sound of your active bass. Also it's useful as a clean boost on active basses for those times when your hands are busy and you can't adjust your amp in the middle of a song. Just pre-set the pedal to a little boost and any time you need it, you've got it with a quick stomp of the foot. The third use I find for this pedal is with effects. You can use it to put a little boost before any overdrive/distortion pedal it will increase the gain. I love this because I like the sound of the Morning Glory pedal, but it doesn't get quite dirty enough. Most pedals that get as dirty as I want don't sound the way the Morning Glory does so this is perfect for me. And the other way it's useful is to add bottom end to distortion pedals (which are famous for not supporting the low end very well). Preset a little bass boost and when you stomp the overdrive/distortion pedal also click on the Xotic RC.PDGood

Unless you have a lot of space on your pedalboard, and don't mind paying a lot for a known brand, passive volume/expression pedals don't have to be large and expensive. This is a perfect pedal for people with a small board and a tight budget. Time will tell if the pedal is durable, but I think as long as you don't abuse it, it will last for some time.grimmy608
Works great and saves a lot of space compared to my old volume pedal. Will be able to squeeze one more pedal now.thefal11

Ive bought and sold lots of wah pedals, just tryin to find the right one, like, from voxs, to cry babys to mini wahs, and even other morley wahs……….other wahs try to give you extra features such as switchless and or fuzz built in etc…….The morley dragon wah, was good but it was switchless, and the problem with switchless is it cuts out if you rock too far back, the problem with the cry baby and vox, is you have to turn it on by spomping down on it, again, you can accidently turn it off if you go too crazy, and as many musician has discovered because it has no light to indicate its on, you sometimes leave it on……..So the morley m2……on /off switch is a big fat stomp knob, you have a light that tells you its on, and you can go as crazy as you want rockin way forward and back with out accidently switchin it off……..and on top of that it sounds great………you also can adjust the level of wah, and also leave it cocked at different angles for those wah tones ……….This in my opinion is the best wah on the marketspitlip
A good quiet pedal for volume control. Simple to use, requires no plug-in or batteries.smokin_gitpicker
Equivalent to a Steel toe capped boot with steel plate sole. Feels its going to last for years works fine as a simple mono volume pedal not worked the stereo in/out function. Relatively short travel as a volume pedal but just something to get used to, I'll take my boots off. Regards Apecreamkrackered

Let me start off by saying this pedal just arrived today. I've played through it for about an hour. I spent about 30 seconds adjusting the knobs. This thing is killer. It's super easy to dial in. Within 2 minutes I was blown away. It just adds something I didn't even know that I needed. It is currently on sale for and at that price it's a complete no brainer. I wouldn't even be upset if I paid full price. I would have been just as pleased. I have it set as a slight boost with a little compression right before my walrus voyager. It's just an incredible tone machine at a price that is almost laughable. Stop reading my review and buy one NOW! Call up my boy nick Graham and it'll be at your house before the sun goes down. This DOD volume pedal did not last at all! Not had it for more than 30-45 days and used 3-4 times plus some practice time…I did review the online consumer guide from the company/owner about adjustment screws. Following the directions did not fix it…it cant be taken apart to fix according to Dunlop/DoD so again, dont waste your money…buy a better pedal…I know I will…civilwarbuttercup3

I'm running through an inexpensive Marshall 30-watt solid state amp. Using a variety of guitars into the EHX volume pedal directly to the amp introduces a noticeable hiss that becomes very pronounced in the middle of the sweep. That said, when I run the EHX into a Pignose the hiss is nearly non-existent. Running a keyboard through the EHX into the Marshall works fine with no hiss. Must be something odd in my setup somewhere. Doesn't really accomplish what I'm looking for anyway, I think I'm looking for something more like a boost pedal. Seems to be a well-constructed pedal, works fine in some applications, just not through my particular guitar setup. Most of the other reviewers have no complaints so it's probably a great pedal, just not exactly what I need.buckg
Not a good unit,too cheap,I have quit using it.Dan

As a keyboard player it is excellent – I have 3 of them they are so goodMike H.
Seems to be a volume pedal and that's what it does. Not used it enough to say moreReviewed by Andertons Music Co.

..Sounds great as a passive pedal and it stays on the floor steadily. The boost effect is not going to add much volume, but it will preserve the tone of the highs if the active mode is engaged. Although I needed it just as a passive pedal, it is a great having the active mode as an alternative when changing the pedal's placement in your chain. This is a great deal indeed!AM
Nice and sturdy. The active selector option works well to preserve the tone.jazzy Bob
Love this pedal for its weight. 4LB means it will stay in place. Nice metal chassis all around and it screams quality built-wise. It has an active switch option but I only use this pedal as a standard passive volume option for swells. However, it's always great to have that buffer if you want to switch pedal placement in your pedal chain, so I'm looking forward to experiment with that more.Abraham
