Sadly I had to spend the remainder of my money getting a Real Tone Cable for way too much since apparently they’re getting rare. I bought this product because is looked fun, it seemed to claim to teach you to play Guitar, and I also needed an Amp for my Electric Guitar but I could never afford one and this game makes your TV and sound system an Amp with full customization of sound for less than $100 so it would save me maybe thousands of dollars on that equipment. I first put the game in and I liked how challenging it was, it is a very new and fresh kind of game. I really enjoy knowing I am the one making the actual sound of the guitar and it is very encouraging to make me practice and play guitar. I dislike how difficult the game is, they made it sound like it would be easy and slowly work up so everyone is able to play, though in my experience the game makes me feel like a complete loser.. I would be on the easiest difficulty just hitting simple notes then I would level up the difficulty and it would throw in crazy stuff I had never seen yet or things way out of my current league, and when I would miss them it would level me back down to just hitting repetitive simple notes. I can master it in time surely but I do not think it is fun for a newbie. I played Piano since I was a small child and am familiar with playing instruments and I taught myself the guitar maybe last year and I made it a point to stay away from TABS so I can truly master the instrument and know how to play it, and play anything..my self progress I feel will teach my how to play guitar better than rocksmith, because I have yet to see Rocksmith tell me what notes I am hitting on the strings.. though rocksmith does name the chords and has taught me chords at a much quicker pace than I was learning them on my own..HOWEVER I find it very stupid and difficult to learn what rocksmith is telling you to hit for chords during gameplay, and the only way you can really hit them is if you practice chords in the technique section and then hope a song does not throw up a chord you did not memorize yet. I had to pause the game every time I seen a chord coming and look at a book of guitar chords I have and study it, before I was able to enjoy playing the game with chords. There does not seem to be online multiplayer which bummed me out but the game is cool enough to survive without it I suppose. So I bought this game thinking it was a game AND guitar teacher, but I have realized it is mostly just a very advanced version of guitar hero where you do not "intelligently" learn to play songs, but will learn to play them from memory, which is just like learning from TABS which I wanted to avoid in the first place. I have not too much experience with this game so do not buy or not buy just because of my review, but if something I said would cause you to not buy the game, look into the game further and see if what i say is true and if it is indeed a problem to you, do not buy.. I think this is a decently fun game even though it was not what I expected and everyone is sure to have fun playing it the first few times at least. The thing I am most happy with, and exceeded my expectations, was the amplifier.. With the custom sounds you can unlock I have found the perfect sound I always wanted out of my guitar. One last thing.The options to practice a song I find very difficult to use and even when you figure them out,they are WRONGif they were actually meant to help someone practice a song,it is almost like they do not want you to learn the songs as quickly and easily as you could.user6612

Overall: I'm new to plugins and vst's, I've just started teaching myself to play keyboard a little while ago and basically what i've learned about this stuff is what i've seen on the internet. I played bass for some time but have wanted to play keyboard and piano all my life. I decided that once I started learning to play, i'd try to learn it all at the same time. I must admit, It's been hard finding out what all the technical stuff means and what it does but i'm coming along, zZounds has made it possible for me to acquire the equipment I want without having to shell out too much at one time. Trilian is just a small part of that equipment that i'm learning more about and love having. Though I'm not nearly where I want to be, the videos are extremely helpful as I know no one that can help me understand it. Even so, I know good bass when I hear it and trilian is as close to live as you can get. Once I learn how to tweak it and what everything does I think the sky will be the limit.Larry

Wasn't expecting more than a good D. I. Box. After using it at my band rehearsal it's now become essential. It has made my ashdown drive pedal obsolete, cleaned up the bottom end in my tone and the whole band. I use a Spector Legend 6 Bass. I'm In a band with two bassists, drums and vocals. We both Bi-amp. A bass amp and a guitar amp. Getting these to all work together can be a real headache… But this has improved things so much, that the other bassist has one now. Tone very comparable to an ampeg type- Growly, very tight and controllable bottom end, doesn't "fart out" on Max. Top end can be moved between airy and crunchy. Build quality It is plastic, but I have no worries. I'm sure if I stomped on the 1/4" Jack, it would damage, but I keep mine on the pedal board anyway. Value Beyond comparison. I can't think of a better spent 20. The sansamp it's cloning is at least 8 times more expensive. And although it's better in some areas, (metal casing etc), sound-wise there's little to choose between them. At this price, in the unlikely event it broke, I'd just buy another. I have recorded using this, and it has very little noise, But massive tone. If it sounds good in an amplifier, it really comes into its own recorded. Save yourself a couple of grandon an svt, and just use this. Yes, really. I would highly recommend this pedal/D.I.snailsetsnail

Obviously with Behringer you are likely trying to save some cash instead of getting something "name brand." When I would record DI bass guitar, I used to run it through a distortion or fuzz pedal to get a more natural sounding gain. The V-Tone pedal is very good in that regard. Turn the presence, drive, and blend knobs all the way up and adjust the EQ to your liking and you get a mean crunch while keeping the clack of loose strings. That is about the limit of this pedal's potential, at least for me. Any adjustment to those knobs to turn down the distortion results in a sound nearly identical with just a clean DI with no pedal or preamp at all. It's as if turning them up from 1 to 8 has no effect until you get them to 9 and 10. Another flaw I've found is the high gain settings bring along a high pitched whistle that occurs randomly during playing, though it seems to happen with a lot of string rattle from long, held notes. It doesn't stand out when it's mixed with drums and a wall of guitars, though. I've only used it as a DI for recording, never as a preamp or DI for a PA or anything like that, it's possible it could be really good for those. I am happy with it to record bass for my doom, black metal, and mathcore kind of music, but wouldn't go to it for anything else.Jacob

I recently purchased the guitar version (GDI21) and was quick to get this bass version soon after. I own a rack mount Tech21 Sansamp RBI unit which has been excellent for me thru the years live. Also, their V1 VT Bass pedal has been a mainstay for me in a live setting. This is a very good clone of the BDDI with potential issues if used in a live setting. These are: Cheezy and fragile On/Off foot switch, and Illegible knobs. I have no idea where the knobs are set at any given time. Aside from that, I like this as a desk top companion to my other tone shapers such as the MXR M80 and M81 Bass Preamps. For little money, you can't lose in purchasing this for a home studio bass pre.Reed in CA

This fretless bass is a great value! This bass is about 1/3 the price of the next cheapest fretless. The sound is very good with a wide range of tonal possibilities. Exactly what I was hoping for. The flat wound strings have amazing treble, similar to round wounds. I was able to lower the action quite a bit by adjusting the bridge with the provided Allen wrench. On the downside, while the A, D, and G strings were flawless, the E string was dead. It was totally mismatched to the sound of the other strings; thumpy without any treble. I guessed that the outer wrapping around the core had unwound at the factory and was not tight. Removing the E from the tuning peg and twisting it to tighten the wrap around the core improved the sound dramatically. Endemic to this model is a design flaw (I tried 3 of these basses previous) wherein the two tone controls are wired in series rather than in parallel. Either tone control can control the tone of either the bridge or neck pick-up, so that it is impossible to control the tone of the two pickups independent of the other. Consequently, you can roll off the treble fully with one tone control and then roll it off again with the other for an insanely deep bass sound. You can easily re-wire this unforgivable defect in a few minutes, if you own a soldering iron. You can Google this slip-up and get a correct wiring diagram online. I may leave it for now, as I am getting into the tonal possibilities of the "extended bassy" sound. Finally, the fret board is unmarked. Being a visual player, I found it helpful to pencil in fret lines. The side markers provided on the neck are not so helpful, as they are in the traditional fretted positions, one half fret back from the place where you need to finger. These drawbacks are not a deal breaker in my opinion. The bass is a blast to play and the tone is completely different than my fretted basses. GET THIS BASS! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT!Lenny

To be honest, I bought this bass mostly because of a great discount offered by Musician's Friend. I didn't want to spend a lot on the bass since I only wanted to experiment with fretless playing. However, this bass was a pleasant surprise. It looks great, plays great and has provided me with a bass sound I always wanted but could never get with my fretted basses. I was concerned that I would play out of tune without the frets, but it was easy to get used to finding the correct notes. The pickups are excellent! I've recorded several tunes with it now and honestly love the results. I'm impressed by Rogue basses, which many of my bass-playing friends shrug off as being "cheap" and not a brand name. They don't know what they are missing! I intend to buy a fretted version ASAP. It is lighter than my Fender Jazz basses and the smaller neck is easier to play. In conclusion, I'll never be a bass 'snob' again. Rogue products are an excellent bargain and not just for "beginner" bass players.lcad1953

I am mainly a guitarist but have always had an interest in a fretless bass. It sounds surprisingly good. To get intonation right I had to replace the bridge adjustment screws with longer 3X50 mm screws. Without that fix it is unplayable. Another fix would be to move the bridge plate 1/2" towards neck.Tom

Really impressed with this small amp/cab combo. Truly great, vintage tube-like warmth, punching lows and crisp highs are all accessible. The headphone output is super useful for practice. The 2×10 cabinet this amp is paired with sounds really awesome for home recording, small gigs (50ish people) and if mic'd, can adapt well for larger gigs. Without an extra 12" or 15" paired with it, it just can't handle the lows at a high volume. I do like running it through an SVT 4×10 for larger gigs to save the trouble of carrying around an 80lb SVT head!Bandy Xan

I've owned this amp for about 5 months now and it is perfect for small venues, church, and recording. I haven't really needed to use the speaker cab much as I mainly use in ears for live performances, but it is nice to have just in case and so the rig looks complete. The XLR out from the head is a great feature and one of the big reasons I purchased this and allows for a crisp sound to whatever you may be plugging in to. I have used this for live performances and recording for backing (split) tracks. You can get any sound out of this little guy and it never disappoints. Don't be fooled by the small size, it can sound massive with the right settings and EQ. The small size allows me to fit all my gear in the back of a small hatchback car. I researched this greatly before purchasing it and do not have any regrets. If i need more volume for situations that in ears won't allow, I may purchase a second matching speaker cab and I am sure that would be plenty for whatever situation. I would definitely recommend to any bass player looking for a professional quality amp that is portable and versatile.DPB

Bought this as an Open Box item from MF. Researched and read many positive reviews. Took the dive and got it. Was a little worried it wasnt going to be powerful enough. Wrong… this little sucker has got PLENTY of power for what I'm using it for: home practice and loud weekend jams with my bandmates. Currently pairing with a Peavey Tour 210 cab. I have an MXR 10-band EQ pedal but this Ampeg does perfectly fine without it. Will have to tighten up the light fixtures in my practice room soon. This little Ampeg THUMPS.The Lower End

I've got both the GT-1 and the GT-1B units and they are so different. I don't know why, but I find the bass unit much easier to use. The effects shapes that you want are so much easier to dial in. Maybe it's something to do with the distortion types that each unit tries to emulate – you get loads on the GT-1 and only a few on the GT-1B. And the amp emulations too – you get maybe 1/2 – 2/3 on the bass unit. What I would say is that it is well worth spending some time doing a deep-dive of the sounds you can get out of this unit. There's not much help here, you will have to grind to get the sound you want, but it probably will be there somewhere. The Boss Tone sounds lab will only get you so far and there really aren't any shortcuts that I've found to the sort of tone I want for any specific patch. It's worth spending the time noodling around with the unit and at least you can set up a load of blank presets by whatever category you want (I set up amp emulators in 10-set batches). Would I buy it again? Yep, absolutely. If you asked me that about the GT-1, I might not be so sure.Cat F.

The BOSS GT-1B is a really great piece of kit. Was obsessing with synth pedals but couldn't decide which one and then would require an expression pedal etc. The Boss SY-1 doesn't offer presets. I'm pleased with the GT-1B – many many possibilities for designing patches, built in expression pedal & 99 presets. Loads of PROS – Great value. The potential options for combining effects is vast. The build is great, knobs & buttons work easily. I dont use it as a standalone but combine with some analogue pedals, which is a good set up. Still saves plenty of space on pedalboard. CONS – you have to put some graft to get familiar with the software and best usage. There are instructions for the basic operation, using the buttons/dials on the unit but to get the full hang of the software for assigning parameters within patches, BOSS do not supply much info. There are some useful vids online though and chat on talkbass etc – Octave fx doesn't always track brilliantly. Is OK and perfectly usable, but not long sustain. – The Synth fx can be a bit OTT & erratic, if up too high. But great synth type sounds achieved with combining envelope, fuzz, octave, wave etc I haven't used any other effects processor so can't directly compare, but the unit has more than surpassed my main reasons for buying it. Amazing kit of professional quality. Except for the files which come in a seperate kit, this 3 in 1 kit has EVERYTHING I needed and is super well made. It comes with instructions and tips on how to use each tool. Icing on the cake is the countless videos on MusicNomad's YouTube channel that guide you through every step of the process. Honeslty this company is da bomb! It may seem expensive compared to other products out there but you get what you pay for here and I would even consider it a bargain seeing how outstanding the quality of each tool is. Bought this for use with my bass based on the great experience I have had with the Venue DI for my acoustic. Easy to set up and very intuitive. Able to achieve all the tone shaping I need. You can do straight DI OR hit the foot switch and get extra shaping including a moderate OD. Highly recommend for any bassist who can or needs to go straight to the board. This Tech 21 PSA 1.1 is an analog beast! I am on my third one having sold the others for newer, shinier toys. BUT, This will never leave my hands again! Simply put, there are no used PSA 1.1s available because folks keep them. It is so easy to dial in the sound you want or go to the presets for the standards that include every amp youd love to own. I've been looking awhile for a Zoom G3x, with the The Shadows patches because they are very good. Its a well made metal bodied unit , pretty easy to use when you study the manual . It can connect to your laptop or PC using USB type B to Type A cable. which enables you to update the firmware, and play your backing tracks. If you download Edit and Share from Zoom ,this enables you to alter, swap and change patch positions. Very handy having a volume pedal, which can be set ,for various effects. I'm very pleased with the Zoom it was a good price ,and sounds fantastic. I recommend it.opaline_04

As a "weekend warrior" gigging musician, I needed a new pedal board to replace my old XTLive POD that finally died after 12 years (also a MF purchase!). Checking reviews, I felt pretty confident ordering it and this thing exceeds my expectations! The phrase "so easy a caveman can do it" comes to mind. I literally received it, set up a bank of effects and played a gig within two hours! In my opinion, as a bass player since 1967, and a luthier/tube amp tech since 1973 Simon Keats at Origin Effects designs the best sounding pedals (reproductions of vintage amps & compressors) and are the highest quality pedals on the planet. I bought both Bassrig versions which duplicate their respective amps ( the '64, a Fender blackface Showman and the Super Vintage, an Ampeg SVT) which reproduce very accurately these amps from the input to the output jack, and both even have a cab sim on the XLR output. I couldn't be happier with them. Yes, they're pretty expensive, but you always get what you pay for with Origin Effects.johnk

Installation worked as advertised – not difficult and worked first time without further adjustments. Could use some high-quality instrument patches – had to buy them from Big Fish. Can do a fine quality impression of horn or string section for us keyboard non-experts, but need the sounds. I do not use the iPad app, just use it in DAW.Jamie

Im not crazy about it..It does track quickly. Secondly you dont have to bolt it in.. Thats the good, Im not to crazy about the sound libraries that come with it. Ive not found much that I can use. I can use it with my other midi packs…thats good. You do have to go into your DAW and clean up transients after recording.. I give it a C…Better than nothing! Fishman could do a little better, considering this thing costs over two hundred bucks..crairiver0

I bought this for recording because I don't play keys very well. I reached out to Fishman about a couple of questions to help set it up and they were really helpful. I wouldn't use this for live because it's very sensitive and the MIDI usually needs a little editing to do exactly what I wanted it to, but it really saves me a lot of work. I have used the Digitech BP200 for several years as a practice tool in my bass playing. The BP200 is a great value for the money. Many multi effects pedal do not have several of the features that the BP200 has , like access to add cd player and a headphone option. I also found more usable effects than many higher priced models, along with a drum machine and built in tuner. I was lucky enough to purchase one in excellent condition for $45 with free shipping. If I had to have just one effects pedal, I would make it a Digitech BP200..relatives
