1950 martin 0-15 natural setup & inspected by our luthier tech notes: guitar and hardware were cleaned/inspected and are functioning appropriately. setup with d'addario 12 – 53 gauge strings. the neck angle is low, however the first positions of the guitar plays very comfortably. great for someone playing mostly open chords and lower position bar chords with medium to high action farther up the neck. the action measures 10/64" on the low e over the 12th fret, and 7/64" on the high e over the 12th fret. the neck relief measures in right at .010". neck is straight with little to no room to lower the saddle. there was a hairline crack repaired on the top of the body that is structurally sound. you can check the extra photos in the listing of pictures of the cleats inside. the bridge also appears to have been re-glued and is structurally sound and holding tune. there is some light warping on the pickguard as well however it's well glued down and not lifting off the body. cosmetic c…

About this guitar martin d-28 authentic 1937 vts dreadnought guitar #2640242 perhaps the most revered vintage d-28s are the ones created in 1937 with forward-shifted hand-scalloped x-bracing, an adirondack spruce top, and a 1 3/4" neck width. this model is an updated version made with guatemalan rosewood back and sides, and it includes some subtle spec refinements to make it even more faithful to the original. one of the major updates is a more accurate body profile based on dreadnoughts from the 1930s and 40s. martin s vintage tone system (vts) is employed to age the top and braces, which captures the tone from the 1930s era. martin s craftspeople can recreate the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar and reproduce the particular tones previously reserved for vintage instruments.

This vintage 1937 00-18h from martin guitars, is a great sounding 12-fret, slot headstock build. the 'h' in the model designation indicates the guitar began its life as a hawaiian-style guitar, with a straight saddle, designed to be played with a slide. like so many of these pre-war hawaiian-style martins, this 00-18h has been converted to "spanish-style," which in this context is what we think of today as a modern steel-string guitar. as part of that conversion the bridge has been replaced, along with the bridge plate, which was properly done and tucked under the x-brace. there is a back seam repair, which is stable, along with minor finish touch up located at the repair. these hawaiin conversions have a unique sound all their own, and this one is firing on all cylinders, with a quick string response and big tone for a small body guitar. great for playing fingerstyle or with a flatpick, there's a surprising amount of headroom in this 00. here with bar frets that feel great, there is moderate fretwear and the expected playwear throughout, along with finish fogging around the neck joint. includes both the original chipboard case along with a modern martin case (see photos).
