I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. That's really impressive for a Chinese guitar. Heck even one of my Mexican Martins needed fret dressing out of the box! Also intonation was spot on and this also is important in your guitar. There is a point of quality when an instrument reaches when it stops being seen as "better or worse" but rather just a different flavor. This Yamaha has reached that point. You can play it alongside a guitar costing 5x more and it stands up well. Yamaha is also one of those rare companies with a long history of top quality across all kinds of products, and guitars are an area Yamaha knows well. This is just a beautiful guitar through and throughout. You can get beautiful uncompromisingly great studio recordings with this guitar. I've owned many acoustics over the years, MANY, and this Yamaha is one of the best sounding I've ever owned. Went to GC just to check out a few lower end acoustics to pick up for jamming on, and tried almost every one in the room. Picked this one up last just before I was ready to leave, and immediately was blown away by the sound and playability, brought a couple friends to listen and tell me which one they thought sounded the best, and hands down this won over all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. This guitar comes with a first-rate roadrunner case. this is a beautiful 12 string acoustic. the top is a lovely spruce. i have tried in three photos to make clear the inch long scratch on the top near the strap button. as far as scratches go, this one is placed pretty well. it goes with the grain, as you can see in the photos, so you have to catch it in the light just right to see it. sides and back are maple, and the arched back, with its tiger eye-style markings, is especially beautiful. as you can imagine, it has a bright yet robust ringing sound. it does have a piezo pickup, and the electronics, like everything else on this guitar, work perfectly. it has been kept in a humidity-controlled, smoke-free home. it comes with a roadrunner case that is in perfect structural condition, but the previous owner had children who chose to do a little light coloring on the top.

First off, some people don't know the real characteristics of a Guild 12 string. And, no, they aren't ALL supposed to be deep….The wood determines the sound. Denser wood, deeper sound…lighter wood, brighter the sound…I bought one after playing MANY 12 strings. Including Taylor, Martin, Takamine….and this one was my favorite. Frets easy, sound is bright yet full, loud, and just a great guitar. As for the electronics..ehh..not the best…but…I am running a LR Baggs acoustic preamp pedal and it brings the guitars natural sound. I turn up the bottom just a bit…sounds amazing…LOVE THIS GUITAR…and it's beautiful to boot….Jamie
I ran into one of these in a guitar store and was immediately impressed compared to the other 12-strings in the acoustic room. It's not a Guild 512, but it has a good, solid sound and nice neck. I was concerned about the tuners, but they seem to work fine and stay in tune and they are the same as on the deluxe Westerly models. My guitar showed up with a detached soundhole control. I almost sent it back, but I liked the sound of the guitar enough that I just decided to reattach the soundhole control with some double sided tape. We'll see how that holds up, but I wasn't impressed with the original glue job. Otherwise, nice guitar. A 12-string has so much going on sonically, that I don't think I need a more expensive model to get good sound. The pickup sounds nice, too. I also like the satin finish. Good guitar. This is the worst guitar for the money I have ever purchased. My brother took sick just before it was delivered. I never got a chance to check this guitar before the time expires. Where should I start. To say this guitar's flyncey is an understatement. The neck is very uneven! The body is so thin even at its great size it cannot give a deep tone. The head of this guitar is heavier than the whole guitar. I see positive reviews on this guitar and I wonder which cartoon characters are posting them or if they are even real. The sound system is is pathetic! It does not matter which amplifier or PA system I play it through it is totally inadequate. And it is incapable of being used in any type of venue through any type of sound system. Why put it in there at all. Guild should be ashamed of itself!!!!! This is a beautiful takamine 12 string ef381sc. this is an older model, thus having faded lighter colors in the binding. never the less, the guitar is in excellent condition. the sound is incredible and will bring harmonious sound to any chord played. the electronics are great and are in full working condition. takamine decal has been added to the pick guard for previous desired customization. new elixir nanoweb strings have been put on this guitar. these string play smoothly and give clear and vibrant sounds. gave the guitar a nice polish and cleaning, shines so bright now! case will be included.

I’ve owned a EF381SC-LH since the early 90s. My being left handed had a lot to do with my decision to purchase it, as up to that point it was the only 12 string I’d ever seen in person, never mind Getting to play one. I was able to tune it by ear and it plays as easily as an electric guitar, so buying it was a no brainer. But over the years I’ve come to appreciated it more for it’s acoustic and amplified tone. It sounds great plugged into my guitar amp, it doesn’t need to go through a PA. It takes the dry New England fall/winter less than 20% humidity while never protruding a fret or needing a truss rod adjustment. I do use two Dampits less than diligently. This 12 string Is one of the best values in the guitar universe, if you have ever wanted one this is the one to get.Stan
I use this guitar as a requinto. (Mexican Guitar) It's just beautiful. I'm at a loss of words with this one the beautiful Gloss Black Finish and the mahogany Takamine logo and Fret markers are just flawless. I would purchase this guitar time after time if i had the money. Oh, and not to mention the electronic pickup that comes factory with it. This guitar was sold as "blemished." I haven't found any blemishes on the guitar. When it arrived it still had the plastic scratch guard on the pickguard, and the strings were still stretching the way brand new strings do. I tried the lower range Takamine 12 string, the GD 30CE, and wasn't happy with the feel of the the neck, string height, or the over all sound of the guitar. So I ordered this one. I know this range of Takamine guitars well because I own an EF 341SC. So far, this guitar has delighted me at every turn. I've not yet played the guitar through a PA system, but plugged into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface and recording it sounds great: well balanced and rich. The same if not better recording off of a live mic. The neck feels good, the string height is perfect.Ron

Never had a 12 string before so thought it time to get one and I'm really pleasantly surprised just how good this one is. The neck is a little narrow so great for my small hands but maybe not so good if want to play finger picking style. It came set up and almost ready to go, I just had to give it a re-tune (which is a breaze with the on-board tuner) and I was playing Wish You Were Here in about 5 minutes, just got to love that jangly 12 string sound. The body is a little narrower than a full bodied guitar (somewhere between my Yamaha APX and my Fender F1020) which for me is a good thing. It also came in a very nice Fender gig bag so arrived in perfect condition. All in all very happy with my purchase!
My neighbor had trouble getting his Villager in tune, so I brought it home for a look. Just a weak battery in the tuner. So I used the opportunity to compare his Villager to my Applause AE35. Both have that beautiful jangly high end. The Villager has a stronger bottom end than the Applause with its lychrachord back, especially plugged in. Both have reasonable action for a 12 string, though both will give you calluses in a matter of minutes. Overall I liked the Villager for tone, and the Applause for general industuctability. I consider the Villager a reasonable, though not amazing, value in a 12 string. So I would definitely consider the Villager alongside the slightly cheaper Applause and slightly more expensive Seagull (acoustic electric).Mikey Bikey

Hi I ordered the guitar and was told about the long delay and found that really honest and helpful, so many people nowadays don't mention the delay in advance then spend their time making excuses. When I reicieved the guitar I was very impressed, the action is perfect and I had spent lots of time worrying that I may find the action on a 12 string too much. It plays just as well as my six string acoustic and that's the best acoustic I've ever played, which is why I bought it. This was my 1st purchase from Richard and I am pretty sure it won’t be my last, whilst I am very much a beginner at guitar, returning after 20 years I have developed a habit for buying guitars that are somewhat inspirational to me, (well apart from my tele modern player, not my wisest purchase). I have always loved the sound of a 12 string acoustic, but was put off by the general implication they are not a good idea for beginners, however I came across a couple of YouTube reviews for the Godin A12, which suggested otherwise, one of which was Richards. I spoke with Richard fairly late one evening to enquire about stock via his live chat and he was still online which was surprising. The guitar was in stock and the order placed, each step of the process from order thru to workshop allocation, setup, testing and finally dispatch, were updated via email and on the website, the whole process took 10 days from ordering to my door step. Initial impressions were good, the guitar in its gig bag was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition, after a quick tune up, the sound was amazing, the action is nice and low and it is considerably easier to play than I was expecting, in fact it only highlights how poor the initial setup on my tele was. Personally I have a long way to go but I definitely have an instrument that inspires me to pick it up anytime I have a few minutes to spare. If you are ever in need of a guitar and Richard stocks it then I would highly recommend Richard over some other online providers, you may not get it next day, but the wait is very much worth it. I received my Godin A6 a couple of weeks ago and I must say I am very impressed, not only with the guitar, but also the service from Richards Guitars. It arrived very well packed and ahead of the projected time. It's a little early to give a practical review of the guitar but suffice to say it's looking very promising, and will probably replace my Martin 000-28 for a lot of my gigs, especially when I'm playing in the full band. These tend to be longer than my solo gigs and a tad more frantic. One of the reasons I went for the A6 is because I have a bit of rheumatism in my thumbs and the narrower neck on the A6 helps a lot without sacrificing an acoustic guitar feel and sound. At the moment I'm experimenting with different strings. The guitar came with nickel wound but I thought I'd try some phosphor bronze which is more in keeping with my acoustics. The Jury is still out! I can certainly recommend Richards Guitars, their attention to detail and concerns over customer satisfaction are excellent.Brad B.

I have owned a number of high-end 12 Strings. This Fender can hang with them and some Twice as expensive and more! It was perfectly set-up right out of the box. Great action and play-ability.I am still Impressed with this guitar especially at it's price point. The strings it came strung with were not for me. It is The one thing that I changed and it just made the sound POP, the voice INCREDIBLE and made the guitar even more impressive. The strings I used are the Martin Retro Monel Custom Lights. It opened a whole new sound for this guitar. I have owned this now over 4 months and am still awed. For a twelve string it holds its Tuning even when I am wailing and using my Dunlop Brass slide. You really cannot go wrong with this well built and great sounding Guitar! Don't wait if your looking, pull the trigger and BUY IT NOW! They may not sound 100% as glassy as my Tele single coils, but if we're honest, very few people will notice the difference and the trade-off for quiet pickups is well worth it. -One volume and one master tone is user friendly like a Telecaster -Comfortable body and neck -Rotary switch adds a nice boost to get closer to Tele or p90 when needed Comments: -First time I tried out the rotary switch I thought it was kinda of dumb, but after setting it up, I think it is most valuable to add some thickness when the thinner Strat sounds needs a bit more. I like it now but still think the lower settings aren't truly necessary. Makes the neck pickup more suitable for jazz and gets the bridge close to a Tele. -After received, we tweaked it but adjusting the truss rod, filing the nut a bit for a couple strings, raising the pickups to the Fender specs (3.2mm), adjusting the rotary switch so when you turned it the knob would stop and not just keep spinning when you got to the end of the options. -Make sure you unplug the guitar from the amp or the battery will run down very quickly -Never owned a Pau Ferro fretboard before but it's very close to Rosewood. If you're on the fence, I wouldn't let it put you off. In the end, we've got a very usable, comfortable, versatile Strat that sounds great! If you are looking for a Stratocaster that can do Strat tones and can get close to Tele or even Les Paul (maybe a bit far on the Les Paul but again, close is the operative word–there is no ONE guitar) when needed, all with noise-free pickups, then this is a great choice.Steve

I ordered this instrument as I was curious as to how I'd get along with 12 strings, and to see if it would be worth future investment. I've ordered and played an Epiphone EJ-200 before and was surprised by the brilliant quality I was getting for such a low cost, so on this occasion I followed Epiphone again for my foray into 12 string playing. The instrument is well crafted for the price point with only a few small QC issues slipping through, but nothing I can't live with. I was hoping for a larger sound as the small dreadnought body doesn't quite articulate as well as a bigger instrument would. It's got that jangle sound you want, although it feels like it's a little suppressed with the mahogany build and body shape & size. That being said, the instrument handles very well, and for me it was an easy adaption to play with the much thicker and wider neck. It holds tuning well and was set up pretty nicely – I didn't have to make any adjustments out of the box. For a first 12 string I'd recommend this above most others at the price point.
This is my Long Term Review. I have had this guitar for a bit over two years now and can give a more complete picture of it. First, the good. This is a very well made guitar. Under the pros, you will notice I mentioned Good Construction. This is particularly important in a 12 string. The biggest issue with all 12's is that they tend to come apart very quickly. You will have bowing, warping, separation of glueing, etc. All this is because of the tremendous extra pressure 12's suffer. After 2+ years, this guitar is still solid as a rock, and I leave it strung all the time. So I would say construction and bracing are very good on this instrument. Along with this is the fact that it Stays In Tune. This is another major issue with all 12's. Again, that extra force tends to make them go out of tune quickly. This one holds tune very well, and that is important as tuning a 12 takes some time. As for sound, I would say Not too Bad overall, and Really Good for an budget level guitar. It is a little thin for my taste, but there are ways around that. First, throw on a set of decent strings. I prefer Martin Marquise on mine, but personal choice. Second, I like to play through an acoustic amp, and I put a Seymour Ducan Woody on mine. When adjusted correctly, I can get a really decent, full bass sound, lots of body and still keep a nice jangle expected from a 12. Will it sound like a Martin or Gibson, no, but it gives a really nice sound for such a low price. As for the negatives, very few. First, keep in mind when Epiphone says "Select Spruce Top," they really mean laminated, not solid. But I suppose there varying qualities of laminated woods as well, and this one is great – really good resonance and sustain. It could maybe do with a better set of tuners, but as said before, it holds tune exceptionally well. Overall, for the price, Epiphone makes a really nice and playable guitar. Now am just praying they come out with a Masterbilt version of it.kdw
As usual with AMS, my order process was very easy,. The order arrived exactly when it was supposed to. However that’s when it all went South….! Exited to see and play my new 12 string, I unboxed it’s and sat down to play it. There was a single string in tune, not a one. A first I might add from AMS. I spent the rest of the day attempting to tune the guitar, although I never did. The tuners were difficult to turn, as if there was a bind of some type. I would get the note close only to have it go flat or sharp. I never was able to get it right. I called a friend of mine who’s been playing over 50 years and he was unable to get it in tune as well. Unfortunately I did return it to AMS, without issue. I must add, I have 2 other Epiphone guitar, electric and acoustic and they both came out of the box nearly perfect. I have never had a negative issue with AMS, and even the call to Customer Service was very positive and the agent could not have been nicer and even apologetic. I’m guessing this was just a lemon, but for now I’m going to do a little more research before I decide which 12 string I order, at this particular price point.

The guitar performs and works as advertised. It's not a bad guitar by any means but it's a guitar that lives way past it's price range either. If you want a really nice D'ANGELICO acoustic then get something from the Excel line. But this is bottom of the premier line. This does the job for a early guitar, the neck is easy to play with low action to match. Put some warm strings on it. I recommend an 85/15 string and let it warm up and break in. It's a basic acoustic electric. It does what it says it will do. Nothing more or nothing less. I got it on an overstock sale but I'd buy it again at full price but maybe not the buttercream. The black or natural wood finish look the best. The buttercream is like they wanted the color of spruce with no grain. It's different for sure. If you're wanting something really nice save your money. If you want a decent backup not starter guitar this should fit the bill. My four star rating is with the full asking price in mind. If you get it on sale it's five star for the price.Nick
i wrote a review early on with my first impressions. 3 months on it it still sounds great – it's been my sofa guitar and I've played it a great deal. The tone has mellowed a bit with use. Neck is still exactly where I set it and the whole guitar feels nicely solid. The big surprise is that this thing sounds FANTASTIC through a PA. It's balanced, it's dynamic, it has none of the harsh quackiness you usually get with low end piezo systems. You can hit it HARD without overdriving the pre. It can get nice and loud without feeding back and the onboard tuner is super handy. The first time I played it in public I was basically mobbed by other guitarists wanting to know where I got it. Ordered this on a SDOTD and will say right up front that it's a really NICE guitar, especially for the $$$. I was needing a smaller guitar w/ electronics for small venues, not needing to invest a bunch of money and after reading decent reviews I said "why not?". After opening the box things got off to a rocky start – – 1st string was broken, and also noticed the neck was really bowed from a loose truss rod, but since I do my own setups on new guitars these was fairly easy to remedy. So was the excessively dry fingerboard and bridge, which I rubbed with 0000 steel wool and lemon oil. But, two of the faux mother-of-pearl position markers were sticking up on one end (loose) and that got me to thinking maybe this was a bad idea. I almost boxed it up and sent it back, but since it was so nice otherwise I decided to super glue them back and overlook it. Otherwise, a beauty of a guitar, and after it was all set up this thing really sang. Unplugged, it's fairly unimpressive, but with a decent tone and plenty of harmonics. The fingerboard turned out to play wonderfully, low nice action with smooth frets and I love the thin profile and fairly narrow width of the neck, the shining point of this guitar. Tuners were OK, and the BONE saddle and nut were fine after I lowered the action a bit. The sound of this guitar is amazing plugged in, and the D'Angelico branded electronics are outstanding. Plugged in it sounds equal to anything I've ever heard, and I heard and played a few in my 60 years of performing. Mine does not have a phase switch as is listed, so take note of that one point. The really great thing that I love about the electronics – – the input jack & battery are on the rear bottom side instead of through the normal end pin jack, a major convenience that is not listed, so this makes up for any other minor cons of the guitar. So far so great. This is my second Taylor ( 2008 914ce is my other) and I really love it. I have played twelve string acoustic and electric for decades but never had an American made acoustic. Compared to my other 12 strings, Epiphone and Yamaha, this feels like playing a six string. The action is great. It is not as loud as bigger acoustics but that is a good thing because it brings out all the strings and their nuance better. It sounds great with or without amplification.ktrip
This is an amazing, high quality instrument. The guitar is easy to play for a 12 string. It's resonant and responds to picking attack very well. Digging in a bit and using my picking hand for percussion on the top is very satisfying! The top is lively and there's lots of sustain. The set up seemed almost too good to be true. Had an itch for a 12 string but I'm not a guitar player, I'm a pro level bassist so I was looking for something that didn't feel like a cheap guitar (I'm used to American Fenders and Ricks) but didn't break the bank. I totally scored with the 254ce, Super easy to play, good looking and a seriously lush, full sound. The sound fills a room easily when played acoustically and when plugged in it's very natural and clean. My Taylor arrived in perfect condition (had to tune it 🙂 ) Speaking of tuning, this guitar stays in tune very nicely. This Taylor includes a VERY VERY nice hard gig bag at no extra cost. Go Ahead and pull the trigger on this, More than worth it!
I wanted a regular size Taylor 12 string to add to my collection. Most of today's higher end Taylor 12 strings are little with a short necks. David (on line support at Sam Ash) suggested i try the 254ce. He said he had played it personally and it was a great guitar. I'm glad I listened. Right out of the box it played smooth and easy and had a great sound. It won't even need to be "set up" like many of my guitars, it's fine just as it is. The 254ce 12-string is a well put together, nicely done instrument. Nobody in the business does their necks as nicely. This is my 4th acoustic 12 – 2 Fenders, a Villager, and a Shenandoah accompanied me to Vietnam (one for each tour), the third a high-end Guild. I like this one best. A special thank you to my sales engineer Matthew Langston who helped me find this guitar. As always, he is the Sweetwater difference! The KOA top is beautiful and the 12-string sound is fantastic. The pickup selection provides a wide range of sounds to fit the genre you are playing. It has been a joy to play! It is my first Taylor steel string and I haven't been disappointed.
You can read lots of pros and cons online about this model and this is just another perspective, but based on my 50 years of professional guitar performance on solid bodies, hollow bodies, dreadnaughts and salon size steel strings, nylon string and acoustic and electric 12-string. Folks who pan this Taylor apparently would be disappointed that a vintage Gibson 335 doesn't sound exactly like a D-28 and a Les Paul Custom rolled into one. Anyone who researches this model HAS to know it is not a compromise concept, it seeks to take the characteristics of both acoustic and electric guitars and make them available in one instrument. For what it does, I think it does it superbly. I play with bare, short fingernails and no picks so this may influence my tonal perception but this thing through my JBL EON One sounds gorgeous, as good as any hollow jazz box I've had and better than most of them. Solos on the humbucker can get about as much sustain and crunch as a competent player would ask for. And as for playability: this thing is a dream to play. Pulloffs and hammers are effortless, the neck feels perfect with just enough fret height to let me thumb the strings without bottoming them. The hardware is well positioned for the most part with the tone and volume controls unobtrusive as I like them; I don't need hatbox knobs that are bigger than my bathroom faucets. Fit and finish are the usual Taylor standard, which is amazing for a mass produced instrument. All in all, my purchase of this T5-C1 with maple top was one of the best guitar buys I've ever made…and I've made a lot of them. This match feels like one made in heaven and I would encourage those players who are sophisticated enough to appreciate a concept that is fresh and well executed to look closely at the T5-C1 or variants of this model as they are available. Put it to work for you and I am confident that the more you use it, the more you will come to appreciate how well the design concept works in allowing you the artistic freedom to express yourself through your instrument to the fullest.son_of_idiot
This guitar has all of the sweet sounds an functions of a T5Z guitar the form of a 12 string guitar. There is little add to this review that I haven't say in my T5Z review, except that it is in a 12 string. I could play for hours with this guitar, that I would not or could not do with other 12 stings. Playing is effortless, however it is dependent upon which songs you are playing. Great for Folk songs and single performers, but not for hard rock or Reggae. As with most 12 stings, it fills the void with sound in songs. Bar cords are relatively easy as in most 12 string guitars. I reduce the rating because it does not fit into other T5Z Taylor guitar cases. Yep! You need to buy a Dedicated Taylor case, since the T5Z cases are of a slightly narrower dimension. Like wise, other accessories are also of a slightly different dimension, rendering a need to duplicate seemingly identical accessories. As an individual or paired performers, you will love this guitar as it makes you sing and feeling like a professional!ZipperMan

I was wanting to try my hand at a 12 string and found some used ones for more money that were basically unplayable. Then I found this new Oscar Schmidt on e-bay, and figured for the money, it's better than paying double for an unplayable wooden box. I have a vintage Takamini 12 string that I love. It's a beauty. But there is a reason Guild is considered the 12 string king. Clearly they put serious time into designing and making this guitar. You just have to pick up this and immediately are aware the quality, strength, tone of this is on another level. It projects a rich tone unlike anything I've ever heard. The build and action is perfect. It's an extremely easy guitar to play. The neck is ridiculously strong and can handle thick strings but I recommend lighter gauge still. It makes it even more of a gem to play and sounds amazing and you don't need as much truss rod.Scott
Great tone and volume. It has warmth and dimension when played lightly but can produce a tremendous range without ever sounding harsh or overplayed. It is responsive to player input and responds well different styles and techniques of playing. It is the first 12-string that I have ever played that works well with capo and slide. My guild 1212 arrived from Sweetwater well packaged and on time. Kudos to Sweetwater, they really pay attention to their customers. Their level of customer care is so rare that it almost takes you by surprise. The guitar is very good value for the money, very playable. A 12-string is not my everyday guitar, but this is a good addition to recordings and I can bring it out occasionally on a live gig. The sound is a little more compressed than high end 12-string guitars but very usable and enjoyable to play.
I bought this guitar as a close out from a local dealer. I wanted a 12 string for a reasonable price, as I am a novice player, for the times that I wanted that 12 string jangle! After the first few strums, I knew this guitar would do quite nicely. It has an incredible feeling neck that is very easy to fret and the sound is clear and full. I cannot believe that this guitar is this good for the price. All solid wood body, bridge, and fret board. Very desirable features for a reasonable price. And did I mention that it is a great player? Although not a US made guitar, I feel that the quality is equal.Dan

I love to sing. I picked up the guitar fifty years ago to accompany myself and never get tired of uncovering its mysteries. This is my first twelve string and I love it. I haven't owned several dozen high end guitars. I've owned a few. I'm very selective and careful in choosing what I like and then I stick with it; sometimes for decades. My first guitar was a Yamaha FG-150 and I've always been sorry I didn't hang onto it. Reading and digesting reviews coupled with a good dose of nostalgia guided me to this one. I had some reservations about twelve strings in general regarding tuning and keeping it in tune. Nothing to it. This guitar is remarkable in its ability to stay in tune. It is truly quite easy to play and sounds fantastic and full. I have short muscular farmer fingers and find this guitar quite easy to play. I attribute this to the shape of the neck which I find quite comfortable. Fit and finish is beautiful and I particularly love the wood binding. It looks great in a less is more fashion and I couldn't be happier. In the month or so I've had it this guitar has been in daily use without an issue. Great sounding guitar out of the box. No adjusting needed. It's been a long time that my chest gets a good rumble from the low end of a guitar. This one does it. The mids are just right and highs are where they should be. I don't know why I have not discovered a LL series Yamaha guitar before. I have had all the expensive brands. I have played and preformed for over 30 years. For the money, this guitar is the best one I have ever bought. I'm simply blown away by how well this guitar performs. This is the first Yamaha I've ever owned and straight up purchased it because my incredible service engineer Josh recommended it. Nachdem ich die per Versand bei mir eingetroffene Guild D-2612CE Deluxe Antique Sunburst erwartungsvoll auspackte, war der erste Gesamteindruck von dem Instrument nach schneller Übersicht erst einmal recht gut. Eine insgesamt saubere und wertige Verarbeitung, und eine tolle Optik. Auf den zweiten Blick wurde mir die recht hohe Saitenlage gewahr. Nach dem späteren Stimmen und Anspielen wurde klar dass ein ungehindertes und entspanntes Greifen ab etwa dem 5. Bund so nicht möglich ist. Für eine Gitarre mit Cutaway, welche also das Spiel bis in die höheren Lagen ermöglichen sollte, ein eher unverständlicher (werkseitiger) Auslieferungszustand. Der Hals war zwar gerade, jedoch die Stegeinlage recht hoch… Da wäre also erst einmal der Gang zum Gitarrenbauer, zwecks Nacharbeiten erforderlich geworden. Zudem wären dort dann auch die Sattelkerben nachzuarbeiten gewesen, weil die Saiten beim Stimmen fürchterlich im Sattel hingen. Ok, grundsätzlich bisher alles machbar und verschmerzbar, wenn sich nicht noch ein weiteres Problem gezeigt hätte. Und zwar die mindere Qualität der Stimmtuner. Ehrlich gesagt, so etwas schlechtes erwarte ich bei einer Gitarre zum Neupreis von unter 100 Euro, aber nicht bei einem Markeninstrument für 640 Euro. Sehr ungleich und schwergängig, wobei einer der Tuner sogar nahezu klemmte und sich eher defekt anfühlte. Also auch bei völlig entspannter Saite, somit unabhängig von der schlecht gefeilten Sattelkerbe. Den Piezo-Tonabnehmer habe ich an einem Digitech RP355 über Kopfhörer getestet und da war nach meinem ersten Eindruck an der Qualität nichts auszusetzen. Fazit: Wäre ich bereit gewesen, die genannten Nacharbeiten in Kauf zu nehmen, einschließlich Austausch der Stimmmechaniken, hätte ich nun sicher eine ansonsten prima verarbeitete Gitarre. Und, natürlich muss meine Erfahrung NICHT auf alle Exemplare dieser Serie zutreffen!! Die Gitarre klingt übrigens auch sehr präsent, schön und ausgewogen, wobei ich den Punch in den Bässen ein wenig vermisse. Was möglicherweise auch an der werkseitigen Bespannung liegen kann. Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen die Gitarre zurück zu senden und ich werde statt dessen eine Zwölfsaitige von einem anderen Hersteller (diesmal aus europäischer Produktion?) auswählen. Abwicklung u.
