This is my version, from a performance standpoint, of a 1953 les paul. i started with a recent gibson les paul special. then i added pieces of hard maple from an actual 1950s gibson steel guitar. the pieces under the bridge and between the pickups are inlaid into the mahogany and are about 7/16ths deep. the other pieces are glued on top of the mahogany. the bridge is an abm aluminum compensated bridge. the posts are tonepros locking studs. the pickups are recent gibson p90s that i have modified. the bridge pickups is about 7.5k with alnico iii magnets. the neck pickup is about 6.5k with alnico ii magnets. the modifications make these pickups especially clear and sweet and true to the early low wind p90s. tone pots are no load, so they leave the circuit when turned to full treble. finish is nitro on the gibson parts and tru oil on the wood that i added. tuners are kluson style gotohs. comes with original hard case. you can hear a sound sample on soundcloud on the pheoguitars14 page. …
