I got this neck to replace the one I had on my Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster (in Metallic Purple with Maple Fretboard). This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. CONS: Nut not slotted – I don't understand why the NUT isn't slotted at least for common string size. It is very slightly to get you started but you would need a file. I just used the low E strong and used it like a file but it didn't come out too well and I've had to buy a new nut that comes preslotted. No predrilled String tree hold – This really wasn't too much of a problem but it's scary if you get it wrong. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase after two weeks of everyday playing with it. This was a much needed upgrade from my Squier telecaster neck I had.C. Barona

I can pull out my strat or tele after not playing them for a few days and they are right in tune look at the quality that is put into them and you'd agree. when screwed to a sunburst or pastel colored body they just really enhance the look of your instrument. the cost of the roasted neck is something you gotta think about like do you really want to spend that kinda Ching on a neck? hell you can buy a standard neck for less or even buy an after market neck and play the same its all about the stability of the wood that closed the deal for me. dig down deep in yer pocket and pony up the Ching for one of these I'm pretty sure you be pleased you did. I have them mounted to Mexican fenders and American fenders all have mated up perfect and very little fret work was needed this is my experience with these necks and you will find the same. in short I dig mine and will in the future will only use these beautiesho-joe56

I heard the headstock crack as I was installing the D string bushing and my heart sank. Luckily, I was able to inject some wood glue and clamp it overnight to close it up, but I reamed out the G tuner bushing and learned my lesson. use care when installing the tuner bushings on anything roasted as the fibers in the wood simply will not compress the same way another neck would.Grey

I put together my own Stratocaster, the build took about a year and a half as genuine fender quality parts can get pricey. The neck plate made my strat look legit and high quality. As a professional musician I'm a stickler on quality parts for my instruments and I can tell tell you with 100% confidence that buying genuine fender parts for your build is worth every penny they just look, feel and sound good.Pablo
Be aware these are about 19 grams in weight and are made of some kind of aluminium alloy. The old strat plates were made of some other heavier non magnetic metal. My strats old plate weighed in at 59 grams; both are roughly about 2.2 mm thickness. The fender f plate and vintage plate are both chrome plated steel, (well magnetic material anyway). The vintage plate is about 32 grams and very thin at about 1.2 mm. The f plate is about 1.5 mm, and a little heavier the vintage, (on guitar so could not weigh). The corona plate seems strong and it has a good chrome finish. I marked it down one star due to the radical weight difference over previous plates, but I'm sure it is strong enough to last. Fender also confirmed that these plates are correct and used on newer strats.goldfinger1976

I got this neck to replace the one I had on my Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster (in Metallic Purple with Maple Fretboard). This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. CONS: Nut not slotted – I don't understand why the NUT isn't slotted at least for common string size. It is very slightly to get you started but you would need a file. I figured if I was going to order the DP418 bridge then the DP417 Neck should be the right neck pickup choice. I am pleased with the Dimarzio Area series pickups on both the tele and strat so I knew I could trust them to make a great tele neck pickup. I was right. I purchased an Area Hot T bridge pup to replace a broadcaster style pickup in a 2013 american tele. I got this to match even though I liked the twisted tele neck pickup tone just fine. Not too difficult to install except that the screws that fasten this Area T neck pickup to the pick guard are too long. The mounting screws bottom out in the pickup cavity. I tried using the screws off the twisted tele pickup but they were a different diameter (smaller). So i just screwed these down until I took up the slack to the spring between the pickup and the pick guard and chopped off the excess screw end, about 3-4mm. Not difficult to chop, I just used the side cutters on a pair of large needle nose pliers. It sounds good, but I kind of raised an eyebrow at the tiny gauge wiring off both pickups (like hair thin).JoelBrett

A top quality product. The shaft has a good minimum-clearance fit in the bearings, so it moves smoothly with no play. I'm a retired mechanic, so I know things about shafts and bearings. But I am mystified by the three small felt pads on the bottom surface. They are not mentioned in the otherwise excellent instructions. When you tighten the mounting screws, the rear pad, under the "Bigsby" logo, distorts the frame enough to put a bind on the bearings, so the shaft drags. This can't be right! Plus, don't you want firm contact between the frame and the guitar top for best sound transference and sustain? I removed the pads, and am very pleased with how the unit works!Lenny

Really simple and fast to install on my Samick AV-6 Les Paul wannabe. Takes much longer to remove and replace strings than to install the vibramate and Bigsby B5. And it's easily reversed if the need arises. It's quite an ingenious device. I have 3 other guitars w/ Bigsbys and this one plays much the same as the others (non-vibramate). If you're not experienced with using a Bigsby, just be advised, they're for vibrato not dive bombing as that will cause them to go out of tune. And until you get the strings 'stretched' in place you'll have to re-tune several times, but once they stabilize (aided w/ 'nut sauce' in the nut and saddles) they stay in tune fairly well, though not perfect. A Roller Bridge can help maintain tuning. I'm happy I bought it.bobstitt

It has to work better than Fretlight, because their software freezes and crashes and their guitar's bluetooth does not connect! Downloaded software and looked at the wealth of content – way more! The software looks like it was written in the last 5 years (not in 2001) too. So if the bluetooth actually connects and the software actually runs without crashing, I will be blown away. A lot less 1 star reviews too, so this might have a chance. I gambled the cash for it and will shell out more for lessons online once I've trialed it for a month… Since I actually review products and services and post that, I'm their worst possible customer.geomarr
I'm always playing around with a few cover songs and scales and I like trying new gear so when I saw this product, I had to pick it up. Got a bit of help installing from the Youtubes and it works great. On top of the native app, there are other apps that work with it that I mess around with like UberChord and Guitar 3D. I don't why I didn't get something like this a long time ago. I've been playing guitar and bass for over 40 years and have always done my own set up and maintenance. I've always made something to put the neck on out of whatever was handy. I've owned a recording studio now for several years and have many more guitars and basses to take care of. This neck cradle stays where you put it and keeps the neck stable when filing frets,etc. In my opinion, it's a good value and I would recommend it.DjPhil
I have used many things to hold my guitars and basses but none of them haved worked as well as this one. It adjusts to any angle or hight, the cradles side holds the neck and the flat side is used for wjen you need to work on the back side of your guitar. I own three capos including this one and this is by far the best. It feels superior and it clamps the strings just right that it produces better sound compared to when using my previous capos. I use this in my acoustic guitar and occasionally use on my ukulele. Tension is easily adjustable so you can tweak it based on how you want it to sound like. Highly recommend!SamKy
This D’Addario Tri-Action capo is a nice accessory to have, especially for a novice player like me. I had been using a regular spring loaded capo for years and had always noticed that it was hard to keep my guitar in tune and sometimes when in use the capo would throw a string or two sharp. I don’t have that problem with this capo or at least my ears do not hear it. I finally bought a nice Martin last year after years of cheaper guitars and let me tell you this capo is the best accessory that I use with it. I love the reduced pressure that is needed to open and close it around the guitar neck and the back of the capo is molded perfectly to fit the curve of the neck back (at least on my standard 6 string). I also like the way the rubber on the capo is manufactured and molded right into the aluminum body. I also like the way it has a thumb wheel for the tension adjustment. I am not 100% how to tell what is needed so I assume you would only tighten it up if you hear some distortion in your strings or some pitch issues while the capo is in use. Be careful when removing the capo from your guitar – the spring tension seems to get to a certain spot and then releases altogether and can cause the capo to slip out of your hand. One final added feature is the built in pick holder. However, it seems the pick could easily be knocked out of the holder and lost. This seems to be a quality built product that I am sure will function for years to come.DIYerGuy
Nice capo. It is very easy to put on, an important consideration for me, and grabs on tight. There is a moving spring to adjust the grip. The quality seems outstanding and it looks slick overall.
