It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I write this review. I have largely used fender amps since the mid to late '60s, with a few deviations along the way- Sunn, GK, Marshall etc, but I always returned ' to the fold/fender.' I made the decision a year or two ago that if I wanted to keep playing out, I would need something that I could lug around a bit easier. 45 years of schlepping and humping gear has unfortunately taken its toll, and to continue means getting something smaller and lighter, but being self admittedly narrow minded and optionated, I did not want to make the slightest compromise in tone or usability. Enter Egnater. I was marginally familiar with the brand, and they were recommended to me by a colleague with much passion. After spending some time checking one out while my son lost himself in the magical world of various vocoders, I decided this was a serious contender. After putting in some overtime during the holidays I used the fruits of my labor to pick up the tweaker 40 head and matching 112x cabinet. This was absolutely the right choice for me. The number of usable tones at my fingertips, the portability, it's all there. Great headroom, plenty of sparkle on the high end if desired. I play in a classic rock cover band and this amp allows me to get close enough to classic tones that I doubt anyone will demand their money back because of the way the amp sounds. I love the versatility, and the shared eq and amp voicing does not bother me near as much as I was afraid it would. From dynamically responsive breakup to crunch and grind, its difficult to ask for any more at this price point. At he onset of my search, I was really wanting fender to make a deluxe reverb head, complete with reverb tank and tremolo (are you listening fender?) but dismissed that notion as fantasy. The lack of reverb and tremolo is not an issue due to the extremely usable efx loop, complete with line or instrument level options. Very nice. It takes pedals nicely and can handle all but death metal chores. Leaving fender behind after all these years for this amp is… Different. With a lesser amp I would care more, but make no mistake, this is a great variation on a tried and true circuit. Try it. Don't be afraid to listen to your ears.Oldenkrusty

Overall I'm very pleased with the amp, and I don't see any need for anything else! This amp will do everything I ask! There are only a couple downsides in my opinion. Both channels are exactly the same. I guess if you were playing only clean or distortion it would be nice to have the ability to set up two clean channels or distortion channels but I'd prefer one channel have a little more gain to really allow you to go from country all the way to metal. The EQ knobs are shared by both channels as well as the different amp model switch. I really like the Fender section for clean but marshall for crunch but I'm stuck picking one or the other and having to sacrifice. I'd like to see a seperate amp switch for each channel. Honestly it only takes a second to reach down and flip the switch but during a gig it's a pain. Seperate tone controls really aren't needed since you can seriously dial in your sound simply with the toggles. Realistically if you even eliminated the different amp models it would still be a fantastic amp and sound great compared to anything out there. And the name "Tweaker" totally fits, I find myself constantly trying new sounds and combinations of the toggles and knobs! I'm really having to nit pick to put this thing at only a 9 rating overall but it would have been nice if they put the amp model control seperate for each channel. This thing is louded with tones! I'm playing it through a marshall 4×12 cabinet. The mini-toggles really allow you to change the color of the amp, most of the time the actual EQ knobs are just for fine tuning. I'm playing Gibson Les Paul's with P90's and Humbuckers. The amp really won't dial in a bad tone, it's really amazing! The variety of clean tones you can get are great. I find myself mostly sticking with the fender setting for most of my cleans and the marshall model for my distortion. I mostly find a sound I like and stick with it but this amp is capable of many different sounds. What's nice is it will really sound different with different guitars. I like to find a good sound and leave it alone and you can really tailor it to your guitar. The distortion will do anything up to classic G&R stuff and 80's metal. You'll likely be dissappointed if you're looking for heavy metal and super gain. Although there is more than enough gain available look to something like a Jet City or Peavey 6505+ if you mostly play heavy stuff. I did find you can plug in an overdrive to push the amp near that territory but it's really not designed for heavy stuff. What this will do is simply everything from crystal clean sounds to hard rock and everything in between. It's plenty loud for any situation and still sounds great at bedroom levels as well! So far so good, I don't see any concerns. There's no humming or hiss when it's turned up. All the controls work great and there's no pops when flipping the switches. I'll have to see how it holds up in the long run but it's great so far! Value wise it's as good as anything in it's price range. It's nice to have two channels and comes with a solid footswitch that will toggle the effects loop as well. The power is more than enough for most gigs and practicing and it looks very nice compared to all the plain jane amps out there.Freddy-jXzod

Not only does this 5 watt lil' monster have enough power to rattle the windows, it also has class! At only 9 lbs. the Bugera T5 Infinium has enough "UMFF" to push your favorite 4X12" cabinet into the stratosphere! It's better having this reverb built into this lil' madman than not having any at all. Just like 9/10 of the other amp heads in its class. The 1 channel, "all tube" head has warm cleans. Push in the PHAT switch and crank the volume and gain and you get saturated distortion that will blow you away! All of that in a 9 lb metal cage like package for only $200! You won't find another 5 W head with all of that for this price. I love my T5 Infinium from Bugera!brmul-8207

What it's not: Not a $1k boutique tube amp. Not a mid-size club amp (unless you have great monitors and a good sound guy). What it is: A well designed, very affordable little monster that will give enough stage volume at 5W for rehearsals in a full rock band or small club, and will also allow you to drive the output stage at that 1W or 1/2W setting for recording at home. The amp sounds best at 5W and driven into either a 4ohm cabinet or two 8ohm cabs. If you use it to drive an 8ohm cab, you are getting only 70% of its potential. I only use el84 based amps. i love their dark, throaty sound, and while this amp doesn't have the punch or snap I get from my 15W custom built el 84 amps, it sounds great for rehearsal or recording. I am a little bit worried about long-term build quality. The input jack is plastic. I have a hard time seeing that surviving a year of rehearsals without breaking. This is a great supplemental amp for rehearsals and recording. Very smartly designed. Good feature set. And if you like the el84 style sound, it delivers it above expectations at this price range. In these days of small solid state, practice amps, this little amp gives you tube tone and more at a very affordable price. A 12ax7 preamp tube and an EL84 power tube provide the tone along with built in reverb, 2 band EQ, gain and a "phat" overdrive switch for added crunch. The three stage attenuator is a nice touch. The stock Bugera tubes are OK but I switched them out with Tung-Sols which provided a rich creamy overdrive more to my liking. Great sound when plugged into my Orange 8" or 12" cab plus headphone jack for late night playing. Great amp for the price!Isom

Fantastic little amp. This is the tone I’ve been looking for, at volume levels I can manage in my living room. I’ve got it running through a Marshall 1×12 cab and the sound is amazing, even on the 0.1 setting. Lovely cleans with a rich natural break up on channel one, and wonderful crunch through to screaming distortion on channel two. Pair this baby with a Les Paul and you’re in heaven. Overall: Recieved this amp on saturday. Took it out of the box, looked great. plug in to 4*12 marshall cabinet and turned on to standby. Plugged in my Westbury custom to test. From the very beginning to was cracking, snapping then full blown static. I played all of two minutes before it started picking up radio signals and static was loud. No guitar signal was heard. Im not sure if its inherent in these amps but I am returning and not wanting another egnater productsVito

My Tweaker 15 half stack is my primary gigging amp. I don't like a ton of stage volume, and in any case this little rig is a lot louder than you'd expect from 15 watts. Using an angled-back stand for the cab, I can point it at my ear level and hear myself just fine w/o having to have guitar in the monitors. Hang an e906 in front of the speaker, and good to go. This rig's best feature is the broad range of useful tones. The various toggles and knobs actually DO something. Since I switch up between twp very different guitars (ES-335 to G&L SC2) in our current live sets, making a couple-three quick changes gets each guitar into its sweet spot and at the right volume easily. Foot-switchability would be even better, but it's quick enough. The gain control is particularly well done. There's some real range, not the "all or nothing" thing that a lot of amps' gain controls give. The Vintage/Modern voicing toggle offers distinct differences, as well. This rig takes pedals nicely. I use both individual stompboxes (recording) and an M13 (live…don't hate!), and both sound good. The one thing I dinged it a little on was that the lower ranges on the Master Volume aren't as useful as I hoped they would be when using the Gain. There's a big, non-linear jump in volume in the first quarter of the dial's movement. Not only does this jump bypass the volume I really wanted (for apartment playing), but the tone on the low side of that volume jump isn't nearly as good as the tone AFTER the jump. Not a problem on stage or even recording, but for those who have to be concerned about volume at times, it's not an ideal practice amp. Bottom line: a lot of great tones at a price that makes touring with it less nerve-wracking.David K

This amp provides a much better value than similarly designed amps by the top manufacturers. I was looking for small wattage amp to get natural tube break-up (previously playing 100 watt fender twin) at small room club-approved volume. I was down to this amp vs. Mesa Express 25 watt. Although the small Mesa's like the Express and TA models have more channels, I just really felt that the 2 channels of the Egnater were more versatile and responsive. I truly feel this amp does the best job of getting a Fender-ish clean and a Marshall-y overdrive in 1 amp. The overdrive channel is what really sold me. The dynamics make it really fun to play. It can get very saturated without sounding metal, and it compresses naturally. I've used on a couple recordings and can't believe the sound is coming from one 12" speaker and a 30 watt head. Sounds way bigger. This channel can also be used as more of a dirty clean channel. That is my one major qualm with this amp though… I like that the new 2 channel tweaker has a gain knob on both channels. I wish I could get a Stones-ish breakup sound using the clean channel on this amp without turning up to 10. So i'm forced to use a pedal and that's just not the same. Oh well, can't have everthing. I still wouldn't get the 2 channel tweaker because this overdrive channel is better to my ears – way more dynamic and responsive. The clean channel is stll great and I can turn it up to like 6 on gigs and get warm sounds. It can still get me the Fender cleans that I need – or close to them while still having a solid overdrive sound at the same time. That's the big win here. I agree with most that the wattage knobs are pratically useless – but to me, having both set of tubes is so cool. Clean channel can truly sound either Fender or Vox on 6V6 vs. EL84. I love being able to get Stratty Fender sounds with 6V6 and then flip to EL84 and get my Tom Petty sounds going. The distortion is slightly creamier with 6V6 but I like the feel changes depending on what guitar I'm playing. In general, it's nice to have 6V6 for strats and EL84's for Les Pauls all in 1 amp. I've had no issues with this amp (knock on wood) and have played steadily for over a year. Overall, this amp has 2 great channels instead of 4 decent channels. That's how I feel about it. Again, I wish they would have thrown a gain knob on the cleans for a slight break-up at low volume, but that is my only qualm. Great sounding clean tones for playing at home, which is why i bought it – my beloved Mustang 1.1 started having issues and I MUST have a great clean tone to relax. Wanted a tube amp and did my research. Decided on the Blackstar. I must say I'm extremely happy with it. The reverb is KILLER to my ear and does a great job at adding shimmer without destroying the tone. No external effects are needed to get a gorgeous clean tone – I use my Zoom G3Xn into the front end to get univibe and compression. The effects loop is very functional. The amp can be very bass heavy, depending on your instrument, but if you run a 10 band EQ (go with MXR) in the loop you amp can achieve any tonal result you want. My best sound comes with everything at 12, with some of the bass rolled off with the MXR EQ – but its just a matter of taste i guess. This amp moves a lot of air when you use the drive channel, and if your not pleased with the amps distortion it does respond really well to distortion pedals. I'm mostly in the clean blues zone but must brag on the amps darker side: it can get very loud and stay rich. I haven't tried any of the direct recording features. The 2 selectable characters of clean that the amp offers thrill me and ,again, the reverb is classy and a bit different from other amps ( I read that is a room reverb). Highly recommended.Tim H.

This amp out of the box sounds fantastic. Crystal clear clean tones and a snarly gain channel that lets you choose between a more American gain tone and a British gain tone. I would say ‘cater for everyone’. But, I received my first amp and within an hour of playing I’d noticed a loud ‘POP’ when changing channels. This pop occurred if a note was being played at the same time as the channel change. (Footswitch and Amp buttons) So, of course I returned the Amp to PMT. they arranged DPD next working day collection for me, completely hassle free. I awaited my next amp, as a direct replacement. A few days later the next Blackstar HT-5R mkii arrived, box fresh like the last. I plugged the amp in, let the tubes warm and away I went. Within minutes of found a great tone again, but the loud ‘POP’ I heard from the first unit was there again on this amp. I tried 4 sockets in the house in case there was any kind of interference/static, but to no avail. Absolutely gutted, I called PMT again. The amp was returned for the second time. Apparently this hasn’t happened to anyone else, I may just be unlucky or the amp may not get along with the electrics in my home. Just check this out as soon as you buy one. I’ve tried two other valve amps on my house since, including a Blackstar Artist 10 AE and an Orange terror with cab, and there’s absolutely zero noise with these. Very important to note here, this is not a slam of PMT, they’ve been absolutely brilliant throughout this whole thing. Customer service is second to none and they are very easy to contact. Used these for a very long time and I will be returning once stores open to try out a new amp.Jack H.

Incredible value for money all tube head… Fantastic on stage as just quiet enough to crank the master past halfway and retain the full valve tone whilst being mic'd. Strangely bass heavy for a Laney… The VC30 and Lionheart I own have both been treble monsters, so I was really surprised to be dialling the bass off here and winding the treble right up. Fantastic sounding amplifier in both 1w and 15w modes. Spring reverb and boost are excellent additions and the tone from the speaker is outstanding. I upgraded from a HT-1R and am certainly not disappointed. My strat and tele sound awesome! We have 5 Marshall’s in our studio 800.900, 2000, silver jubilee, plexi. We also have a Vox and a orange TH. Our first Laney and it sounds fantastic….what a sleeper company…. The sound is all British but it really has great rich smooth harmonics… It compares to our Friedman but at a fraction of the price. We can’t stop playing this boutique sounding amp… Good job LaneyShred Flintstone

Just wanted to reply to the comment regarding the scratchy presence knob. If you read the Runt 20 manual the presence knob is supposed to be scratchy. Nothing wrong with amp. Great amp!!!!!!Steve

I accidentally ordered this amp instead of the 50 watt as originally intended. I discovered the mistake only after it shipped. I intended to exchange it for the 50 Watt at my local Guitar Center. A few days later it arrived at my doorstep and I decided what the heck, I would take it for a test drive. I'm absolutely blown away by this little 20 watt and have decided to keep it. I'm pushing a Friedman vintage 412 cabinet with ease. This small amp is portable, lightweight, extremely feature friendly and has a huge variety of tone. This 20 watt amp can push my 412 cabinet with adequate stage volume with ease. I use a combination of 412 cabinets along with another EVH 5150 amp via ABY switch and will often bounce between the 2 half stacks. I've had numerous Fender Marshall and other Boutique setups in my 45 years of playing but never a Friedman setup until now. The Friedman lineup seems to be popular for a reason. I'm absolutely blown away by this little Powerhouse amp. It's also at a very friendly price tag for what you get. Lots of tone in this little guy. I would absolutely recommend anyone to try it out and take it for a test driveJay

This is the amp and tone I have been in search of. It has plenty of gain for metal and the EQ dials in nicely. The clean channel is excellent as well. You will not find a better amp for the price, what a killer value! You could potentially spend a lot of money on an amp of this caliber, but probably won't get any better tone quality for spending lot's of extra $! It has all the knobs, bell's and whistles that you'll ever need, including a four button footswitch; clean, crunch, lead and FX/boost. There are some bad reviews on Bugera amps like when an expelled tube blows a fuse and someone thinks that it deems It a piece of junk. Be prepared this amp is bulky heavy but sounds beautiful. The clean channel crisp clear. The crunchy gain is FLIPPIN CRAZY great tone. And for the lead channel well its the same depending on how you have your settings. All IN All i am very pleased with this amp and it can only get better with tube modifications. so if you want to blow the doors off of your house then this is the amp!dmenezes99

I've wanted the JP-2C ever since it came out, and I am not disappointed! This thing is a beast. The cleans are pristine and the high gains are incredibly tight and edgy. I can't believe how powerful the 5-band EQ's are. You can literally reshape your sound with just the slightest adjustment, which is incredible. I also have the TC-100, which I love. I'd say the TC may be slightly more versatile in the high gain and crunch sounds it provides, but if you want the Petrucci high gain sound, nothing beats the JP-2C!John

The blue channel is very pantera with no pedals. Noise gate in the effects loop is all it needs. Emulated out sounds great for di recording. During a massive tube shortage this is an awesome back up amp.Mike

Sound: The clean channel is basically a low overdrive channel. Which is fine by me since I never use this amp for clean tones. The number 2 "classic" overdrive is really the best gain you can get for the price. I'm a firm believer in amp over pedals when it comes to distortion and this amp definitely delivers some serious distortion. Very good tribute to the old dime amps. Channel 3 is more suited to the newer "core" sound. It's my low channel for when I want to practice and not blow the windows off but if I turned it up it would rip paint off with the amount of gain. It's not a bad lead channel but the tone will take some time to match up if you tend to switch a lot. All in all, it's not an RH100 but it's not at all a bad amp. Especially for the price. Features: The built in noise gate is crap but it does help. The reverb has a tendency to over saturate and leave this annoying hum if you have it too high. The eq isn't over responsive but it's not dead so you can shape your tone fairly easily. I got around all of these problems by adding an eq turning down the reverb and getting a cheap noise gate and now it's near perfect. Ease of Use: It's a solid state amp so it's literally plug in and play. Finding a tone is fairly easy if you don't mind taking a minute and dialing it in. Footswitches make the world go round… Nuff said… Quality: It seems well made and I take pretty good care of my stuff so it should last a while. Value: This is pretty self explanatory… Manufacturer Support: Never needed it. The Wow Factor: For the price… WOW Overall: I got this in a pinch to go with an old orange cab for my band. Probably the best quick decision I've made in a while.Juan

I have always wanted a Randall Amp but have never had the means or opportunity to purchase one until now. There are pros and cons to this amp but the props most definitely outweigh the cons. Pros Amp's 3 channels make it very easy to switch between genres of music Clean channel is very crisp and other channels have enough "punch" to knock your socks off Buttons are well organized for ease of use and user functionality Built in bass boost and mid scoop make this amp unique Cons The only problem i have found is that it sometimes requires a noise gate in the effects loop as playing at higher gain settings sometimes causes it to hum. Though this is a solid state i feel as if it competes well with higher end tube amps. Overall this is amp is definitely worth the money.Nathaniel

I traded my PRS MT15 for this amp and don't regret it. Only downfalls are are the treble gets sharp when up too much past 1:00, almost like cranking the presence on most amps. I run a boss 7 band through effects loop, problem solved. Boost and effects are a plus but i lightly boost it still for that added grit and tightness. 1st 3 channels sound great but 4th (lead) is kinda zappy but just use Ultra channel and then turn on delay for solos.Jay Chen

Not very happy with this amp. It does not have Bluetooth yet the app don't function right without it. I have tried Apple, Windows with a mio midi. Sometimes it connects most the time it don't. I spend 3x more time trying to get the amp to work than I actually do playing it. I don't recommend h and g products.Casey Curtis

I picked this up to use predominantly as a low wattage gigging head. I've since found myself using it for almost everything. PRS doesn't load a bunch of features into this amp. It is simply a guitar amp which is why it's as good as it is. This is a two channel footswitchable (included) amp. It has no effects or reverb. The clean channel is one of the best and most usable clean channels I have played on. It has its on eq and a treble boost. It would probably make a great pedal platform but I prefer to use it simply as a clean. The dirty channel can deliver anything you ask it to from classic 70's to modern metal. It has more gain available than anyone probably needs. If you know how to use the volume knob on your guitar you will find this amp to be very responsive. I keep the gain at about 10 o'clock and dual in what I need with the volume knob on my guitar. Both channels play extremely well with pedals. I've had the best results using the effects loop for time based and modulation type effects. Frequency and drive work great through the front end. I waited to review this until I got some rehearsals and gigs under its wings. This thing is built like a tank and travels quite well. For rehearsals I run it through a 4/12 with equipped with Celestion 70/80s. It's more than loud enough to get over a live drummer. It sounds louder than a 50 watt head I was using for rehearsals. Live I run it through a 2/12 and mic the cabinet with a 57. It sounds great and is very consistent. It's convenient size, durability, and overall sound have resulted in it becoming the first head I reach for in almost every situation now. This is a really great practical amp for any performing guitarist.Michael

Not a bedroom playing amp. Crazy loud! Huge gain! Sounds like a beast. More like 50 watts. At low levels it's sounds poor. But turned up it can't be played in a bedroom. Had the cops called twice on me and I live in a house with decent amount of space between the homes. Best metal amp out.Todd

Sound: This is the best amp I’ve played for most styles. Features: I’d like reverb but does it have to have it? Nope. Ease of Use: It started off with a great sound! Quality: Amazing quality! Value: Worth every penny Manufacturer Support: Never needed them The Wow Factor: The blue and red Led lights were an awesome touch! Overall: This is an amazing amp. To put it through its paces I used a tiny micro terror and a Mesa Boogie 2×12 cabinet. Using a Richie Kotzen tele and an EMG-loaded Les Paul Custom, I tried many different styles.I started off with the eq at noon and at half-power. The first thing was that this amp throws a lot of low-end. But it is not unusable in any way. It is just full. The only way to really experience this is by playing is I guess.The boost also worked amazingly. I do wish that is is footswitch-controlled because it throws a lot more gain.Then there is the lead channel. After experiencing the clean volume, I started with volume off and gradually brought it in. The highest I could get it without causing pain was 9:00. This amp is loud as hell! The lead sounded every bit as good as my Mesa Tremoverb and Road King , so I wasn’t missing anything in the gain department. Reverb would have been great, but I have pedals I guess.At the end of the day, this is the happiest I’ve ever been with an amplifier. I look forward to years of incredible sounds in a small package. I have owned several amps in the last 40yrs. Always looking for "that tone" and never quite found it. Peavey's a Marshall and a Carvin. The last being a 100W head. And with all of them and a line 6 floor pod, was never happy. I am so happy with this head on my 4×12 marshall cab that all I have used the floor pod for is the tuner. I'm sure at some point I will probably use the pod for some effects, but for what I mostly play its not really needed. Of course there are many things that can effect this so ill just give a short list of the main guitars I use and the pickups. Gibson Les Paul with Slash Seymour Duncan's, wired 50's and a Gibson 137 all stock. I no longer play out so the 100w Carvin was just not good in my basement. Couldn't push it to the point of natural breakup in a confined space. This amp goes from almost crystal clean to a beautiful natural saturation. And the dirty channel picks up where the clean leaves off and goes to the verge of metal. Throw a overdrive pedal in the mix and there isn't much you couldn't play on the fly.Brad B

I have had it for a week and love it. It goes from super clean to full on metal overdrive. Price was good—delivered quick. Seems well built enough. The only thing I would change is to give the clean / classic channel some crunch so i could go from a light crunch to a heavy lead sound when switching channels because the clean channel is clean even when fully cranked. The DSL100 has a crunch option on the clean channel so it would be nice to have it here as well. But you can use the ultra gain channel and use the guitar volume to clean it up etc. I assume the clean channel would take pedals well from other reviews I have seen. Overall it rocks and gets really loud. Gig-able I think. Highly recommended.Tuckerman

I bought 2 of these heads to drive Marshall MX12 cabinets. I was previously using 2 Marshall DSL40CR combo amps. I thought I could save space by having the small heads instead. I was wrong. FYI, the DSL40CR amps sound great (mine are upgraded with Creamback speakers). First off, the amps both had horrific white noise when you turned up the reverb. 2) one amp made some weird static noise when you moved your hand around the face plate, touching the face plate actually changed the tone. I have never in my almost 30 years of using guitar amps had this. 3) The amps sounded thin and tinny. To the point they were unusable. I returned them for a refund and when both amps arrived at Musicians Friend, they stated that they only received one amp (although both amps arrived the same day). A day later the 2ne amp was marked as received. I received one amps refund on Saturday, and now I guess I have to wait till Monday for the second refund. What a joke. BTY, I also ordered a brand new EHX pedal when I bought the amps and they sent me a used one instead! Musicians Friend is such a joke now a days it's sad.MLM

The AC30CH is the AC30 only more so! The Vox Reactive Attenuator lives up to it's promise. Couple the head with the V212 Greenback-loaded cabinet and open the amp up, and even on 1/3 watt you get something incredibly close to Vox tones at bedroom levels, but still have the option of 3 watts (small club loud), and the full fat 30 watts (aircraft hanger loud!). The effects loop is also a welcome addition, and can be bypassed for those who prefer, and the head can be set of 8 or 16 ohms, so will work with other cabinets. Just amazing tones that can be dial from clean leads to warm crunch. The tone palettes covers most genres from blues, pop to rock. Pedal friendly (treble booster “wink”) I had it for months and been using it at church and had compliments about the sounds I’m getting with the Vox AC30. It has a Fx loop for time based effects, you can bypassed it if you wish to run your effects in front of amp and the best of all there is a switch on the back to attenuate volume and have bedroom levels and minimum stage noise, there is no noticeable loss of tone or use a reactive load for the same purpose. All in all this is just a great amp it has become my workhorse, great tone variety you just can go wrongErick

Thank you, Nick at SxFlls Guitar Center! Having told me that he has heard nothing but good things about this amp, I ordered it on the spot. upon receiving, I noticed the quality of build. With a humbucker in the neck position Tele, I immediately dialed in a gorgeous lush attack.. Rolled back the volume, and amplifier responded with a delicious and spacious rhythm tone. Single coil bridge pickup kicked in a spank and yet round full on Tele attack. But the middle position, it was so full of bottom end beef and top end sparkle, thanks to the amps internally bridged channels. With C19 I was looking for a good home tube amp and the Revv D20 way exceeded my expectations. The sound is terrific. Works well with my hx effects + pedal board. Attenuates onboard from 20w to 4w. And when I need to be quiet (headphones) or just want to pull tones into my DAW, the Two Notes torpedo is really good. I'm really glad I bought this Amp.Ira

Great sounding amp and the built in two notes cab sim is great. Great metal tones but you’ll need an overdrive pedal to really get the most out of it. Clean tones are gorgeous. MIDI is simple to use to change the channel and various other parameters too. What a fantastic amplifier this is. Worth every penny. The High and Low power settings both give different sounds and are equally usable. For more gain I use a Korg Nu:Tekt Over Drive pedal, they go very well together. I use beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones with the cab sim output every day! Have not stopped playing this amp since it arrived and I would say to anyone looking for an amplifier like this that if they are in a position to do so, then buy it without hesitation. My Shergold guitar and my Gordon Smith guitar go so well with this amp- both guitars have Humbucker pick ups and definitely give me the kind of tone that I have been looking for since I first heard JoyDivision more than 40 years ago. The amp works well with my Gibson ES330 guitar too which has P90 pick ups and is sort of an upmarket Casino. If anyone knows the sounds of Bernard Sumner with both the Shergold Masquerader and the ES330 then this amp sounds a lot like his setup without the punishing volume of his Vox. I have also been able to get the Neil Young Cortez the Killer tone pretty convincingly too. No regret at all in buying this amplifier and if it breaks would buy another without hesitation. I should perhaps add that this is the first Valve Amp that I have ever bought after many years of building my own Valve Amps.David C.

What can I say? This amplifier is amazing, the tone is massive, the gain stages are perfect. The attenuator dials the volume back perfectly without changing the overall structure. This will not be a long review. It would be repetitive. Yes warmth available for clean channel, nice reverb, great dirty channel. Cleans right up with your volume control. You heard all these before. Some things that I prefer over any other amp. The dirty channel sings. No pedals needed. That's why I bought it. I had a Friedman Dirty Shirley 40w Combo. I thought that was great. Tried many amps and when playing a strat always needed pedals. Went crazy with them too. Name it I probably tried it. Lots of boutique too. Not cheap. Fender DRRI / Vox AC15 C1 and X / goodsell / Bogner/ Marshall/ Hughes Kettering/Morgan even Orange OR s. You get the idea. I'm sure you've been there. It's hard to find a good reverb that matches a tank like a fender in any outboard pedal. Even in a good transparent loop. You don't want to put the time based before the input you want it in the loop. It just seems to work best. But you love those single channel sounds. Well I too what worked best for classic rock/ Jazz/ blues/ and hard rock. Took my Friedman and did the ultimate a/b. Sorry should have you tubed it. Took the Orange RVM3 and used it on the Friedman cab. I wanted to hear if the amplifier section was better especially compared to the Friedman with and without pedals. Because you can adjust the tone of your clean and gain channels separately Orange won that fight. Gain vs gain for best clarity and note definition Orange even with pedals in front or gain maxed on the Friedman. The best feature which seems to really kill the lot is the attenuator built in. Lowering volume without killing tone. I will admit I like a creamback speaker with this head vs the vintage 30s orange uses and wish they made the open back in the USA instead of China. But it is a nice cab regardless. So if you listen to this head try it with different cabs. If you are looking for a great head. Yes it's heavy I put it as a con for those who gig. But you do get what you pay for.JAZman

Bought one of these in black from Tanner at the Alpharetta GA store back in June. Saved up for almost 2 years to finally get one. It sounds incredible! The clean channel sounds nice and chimey, as good as any Fender amp you'd want. The dirty channel can do anything from light grit to fully saturated metal textures. The reverb sounds great. And sometimes the reverb on amps only sounds good in one spot on the dial. This one, it sounds right anywhere you set it. You can get a light reverb, some regular everyday medium reverb, and it also does that long droney surf-echo kinda thing really well too. It's my favorite amp. I tried out all of them, and I could've bought any of them, but I chose THIS ONE for a reason. It's the best. The only cons I can say for it: It's VERY heavy. I was previously using an all tube 240w stereo rackmount setup that was miserably heavy. This amp is pretty much just as heavy. The amp lacks a little treble, especially at low volumes. At high volumes (what this beast was born for) it hits that treble spot perfectly. Many people might be tempted to swap out the tubes immediately thinking they are cheap or low quality or bad sounding or whatever else. I'd urge anyone to wait though. After you get a few hours on the tubes, they do sound better. If you still don't really love it, THEN do a tube swap. But why waste money if you don't have to. Give the stock tubes a chance first. They're actually pretty good. Mine came with some chinese made rebranded ones, and they're great. If you're a "mad scientist" kinda player with tons of pedals, this might not be the beast for you. This is an old-school kinda tube amp, and it sometimes doesn't make your pedals sound like you think they should. The preamp of this amp will react to small changes in signal strength from modulation pedals and might not sound as wonderful as you'd like. It has a tube buffered effects loop, and you should definitely USE IT for delays and reverbs.Michael

Outstanding clean amp, very close to it's bassman origins and certainly not the amp you want if you expect tons of gain from the amp itself. It's plenty loud for anything with the right cab and it takes drive pedals (Vintage LM306 Rat, TS, Fuzz Face, and more) better than many amps I've used. Great tone. Channel switching covers many many flavors of drive and awesome cleans. Ability to use 6l6, El34 or 6v6 covers so many more tones. Reverb and effects loop on the footswitch is cool. No pedals needed on the floor. Just the footswitch.srvguy

This amp is great. Ton of headroom and the tone is outstanding. I originally was looking for a tube amp for the 3 channels and the warm tone you get from tubes. I seen this one and thought, it’s Randall so it’s got to be good. I’ve played through several Randall’s over the years and I have to say this thing rocks. The tone is great and plenty of gain. Don’t be fooled though it’s not a gain monster but it offers more than enough for hard heavy metal. This thing is loud, I haven’t had to put it above 4 when we play. The included 4 button footswitch is basic but well built. I haven’t experienced any of the noise associated with button channel switching. This unit however does not have reverb. Not a problem for me but a heads up for those that use built in reverb and not some form of processing. I would definitely buy this again.Justin

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and I can tell you that this amp rocks!! If you want crisp cleans,it will handle it. If you want nice vintage overdriven tones, it does it. If you want high gain, look no further because this amp will blow your mind!! Dimebag Darrell's amp on steroids!! Pushing 2 custom Randall 412 cabs with Eminence Swamp Thangs and Legend GB128's in X pattern (400 watts each) to their absolute limits. For the amount of gain this thing produces it keeps a clear signal and is pretty quiet compared to some amps in its watt range and thanks to the onboard noise gate its whisper quiet!
